AFTER CONTACTING ASTORG AUTO OF CHARLESTON (5 DUDLEY FARMS LN, CHARLESTON, WEST VA), THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS NEEDED FOR THE RECALL REMEDY WERE STILL NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE CONSUMER HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE. *BF CONSUMER HAS STATED THAT VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED.*AS
TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS 2011 MERCEDES BENZ E550. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE HER SON WAS DRIVING 5 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE AND THE AIR BAG FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE HEAD BUT DID NOT SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A BODY SHOP. FOR THE BODY WORK OF THE ACCIDENT. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NHTSA RECALL CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V081000 (AIR BAGS) THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER BUT THE CONTACT CALLED MERCEDES-BENZ OF WESTMONT (200 E OGDEN AVE, WESTMONT, IL 605590 AND WAS INFORMED THEM OF THE FAILURE. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. TAKATA RECALL. BOTH AIRBAGS REPLACED JANUARY 2019. TOXIC SMELL IN VEHICLE SINCE REPLACEMENT. NO IMPROVEMENT FROM AIR FRESHENERS, ODOR ABSORBERS, OR WIRING OF VEHICLE. SO FAR NO REMEDY OR EXPLANATION FROM INSTALLING DEALER, BUT WAITING FOR MEETING WITH MERCEDES REPRESENTATIVE AFTER MEMORIAL DAY. WIFE CAN'T DRIVE OR RIDE IN VEHICLE WITHOUT AADVERSE REACTION.
FUEL TANK WAS FILLED UNTIL AUTOMATIC NOZZLE SHUT OFF WAS ACTIVATED. VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN HOME APPROX 3.5 MILES AND PARKED IN THE STREET. NEXT DAY THERE WAS A PUDDLE OF FUEL APPROX 2 FT X 2 FT ON THE PAVEMENT AND UNDER THE CAR, JUST FORWARD OF THE RIGHT REAR TIRE. I WATCHED FOR SEVERAL MINUTES, AND NOTICED IT WAS STILL LEAKING AT THE RATE OF ONE DROP APPROX EVERY 2 MINS. THINKING THAT PERHAPS A HOSE BETWEEN THE FILL PORT AND FUEL TANK WAS LEAKING, I DROVE IT FOR APPROX 15 MINS, HOPING TO UTILIZE ENOUGH FUEL TO LOWER THE LEVEL OF FUEL IN THE TANK AND/OR HOSE. I RETURNED HOME AND PARKED THE CAR AGAIN. THE CAR WAS STILL DRIPPING FUEL AT THE SAME RATE. I MOVED THE VEHICLE INTO MY DRIVEWAY TO TRY TO ASCERTAIN THE SOURCE OF THE LEAK. I JACKED IT UP, REMOVED THE RIGHT REAR WHEEL, BUT STILL COULDN'T SEE THE FUEL TANK CLEARLY. SO I ALSO REMOVED THE PLASTIC WINDAGE PANEL, WHICH COVERS THE UNDERCARRIAGE OF THE BODY FROM FRONT TO REAR WHEEL. IT WAS COMPLETELY FUEL SOAKED AT THE REAR. I ALSO NOTICED THAT THE EXHAUST PIPE, A POSSIBLE SOURCE OF IGNITION, IS ROUTED DIRECTLY IN BACK OF THE FUEL TANK. I RESEARCHED THIS PROBLEM ON THE MERCEDES FORUM WEBSITE, AND DISCOVERED THAT A DEFECTIVE FUEL FILTER FLANGE, WHICH EVENTUALLY CRACKS AND ALLOWS FUEL TO LEAK AND PUDDLE ON TOP OF THE TANK, IS A COMMON PROBLEM. HOWEVER, IT APPEARS THAT THE "BUILD DATE" OF MY PARTICULAR CAR (08/10) IS NOT COVERED BY MB CAMPAIGN 2013020002. YET, THE PROBLEM IS IDENTICAL TO THE VEHICLES WHICH ARE COVERED, AND RECEIVED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY.

TAKATA RECALL... I AM GETTING THE RUN AROUND ON MY AIRBAGS. MY AIRBAG RECALL HAS BEEN PENDING FOR YEARS... THIS IS A 2011 CAR, SHOULD NOT STILL BE PENDING.
TAKATA RECALL. MY COMPLAINT IS ALMOST 3 YEARS OPEN RECALL AND THEY CANT JUST REPLACE THE AIR BAG MODULE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 MERCEDES-BENZ E350. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING AND THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO MERCEDES-BENZ OF JACKSON (455 STEED RD, RIDGELAND, MS 39157, (601) 956-4211). IT WAS UP TO THE DEALER AND WARRANTY COMPANY TO DECIDE WHO WOULD REPAIR THE POWER STEERING CONTROL UNIT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V459000 (STEERING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 96,000.
"TAKATA RECALL" MERCEDES-BENZ HAS CONSISTENTLY BEEN PUSHING BACK THE REPAIR DATE FOR MY VEHICLE. THE INITIAL REPAIR DATE WAS AUGUST 2018, WHICH THEN A LETTER RECEIVED NOTING IT WOULD BE REMEDIED IN DECEMBER. WHEN DECEMBER ARRIVED, MY LOCAL DEALER NOTED THAT MY VIN SHOWS THAT THERE IS NO LONGER AN EXPECTED REPAIR DATE. I CONTACTED MERCEDES-BENZ DIRECTLY AND THEY JUST NOTED THAT THERE IS NO REMEDY EXPECTED ANYTIME SOON. THE COMPANY HAS ALSO REFUSED TO PROVIDE A VEHICLE IN THE MEANTIME WHILE A REMEDY IS BEING FOUND. PERSONALLY, THE TAKATA AIRBAG ISSUE IS WORRISOME TO MYSELF AND MY FAMILY AND THE FACT THAT MERCEDES-BENZ DOES NOT FEEL ANY SYMPATHY AND WILL NOT PROVIDE ANOTHER VEHICLE DUE TO THE MAJOR SAFETY CONCERNS IS SIMPLY UNPROFESSIONAL. MANY OTHER AUTOMAKERS IS PROVIDING VEHICLES TO THEIR CLIENTS, AND MERCEDES-BENZ SHOULD BE DOING THE SAME. THEY MUST REALIZE THEY PEOPLE DO TRAVEL TO AREAS THEY DO EXPERIENCE HIGH CORROSION RATES AND THEREFORE, THEY ARE MORE LIKELY TO BE AFFECTED THAN THE AVERAGE VEHICLE. MERCEDES-BENZ SHOULD REALLY RETHINK THEIR STANCE ON THESE RECALLS FOR THEIR CLIENTS.
TAKATA RECALL THIS MERCEDES RECALL WAS INITIATED IN JUNE 2016 AND PRIORITY WAS GIVEN TO OLDER CARS IN WARMER CLIMATES. WE LIVE IN FLORIDA AND WE HAVE A 2011 E350 CONVERTIBLE. TODAYS DATE IS AUG 4TH 2018 OVER TWO YEARS LATER, SEVERAL MISSED DEADLINES HAVE COME AND GONE WITH VAGUE EXCUSES ABOUT AIRBAG AVAILABILITY. WHEN IS THE NHTSA GOING TO INTERVENE? I JUST CALLED MY LOCAL ORANGE PARK MB DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD MAYBE BY DECEMBER THE AIRBAGS WILL ARRIVE. SORRY, I JUST DO NOT BELIEVE THEM BASED ON THEIR TRACK RECORD. WHAT IF THE AIR BAG GOES OFF AND MY WIFE AND 11YR OLD SON ARE KILLED? THIS IS A LIFE THREATENING ISSUE, BASICALLY THE CARS COULD KILL THE DRIVERS. SURELY THIS IS WHAT NHTSA IS SETUP FOR? 2.5 YEARS SINCE RECALL ON DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS AND NO REMEDY
TAKATA RECALL -- CONSIDERING HOW POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS AND EVEN FATAL THE MALFUNCTIONING TAKATA AIRBAG(S) MAY BE IN MY VEHICLE AND THAT IT HAS BEEN KNOWN FOR YEARS THAT THE AIRBAG(S) MAY PRODUCE DEADLY SHRAPNEL, IT IS TAKING FAR TOO LONG TO HAVE THE RECALL PARTS MADE AVAILABLE FOR REPLACEMENT IN MY VEHICLE. TAKATA SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE THE SAFE REPLACEMENT AIRBAG COMPONENTS NEEDED AND/OR MERCEDES BENZ SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO ENSURE THAT THE AIRBAG(S) WILL BE REPLACED IMMEDIATELY. THE DELAY IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE AND BOTH TAKATA AND THE AUTO MANUFACTURERS SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE TO GET THIS RESOLVED IN ALL AFFECTED VEHICLES. THE AIRMATIC SUSPENSION ON THIS VEHICLE HAS PREMATURE WEAR AS DO MANY OTHERS. THE AIR SHOCK COMPONENTS LEAK AIR CAUSING THE CAR TO LOWER DANGEROUSLY TO THE GROUND. IT OCCURS STATIONARY, WHILE IN MOTION, AT VARIOUS DRIVING SITUATIONS.

I'VE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THESE AIR SUSPENSIONS, IT APPEARS THEY ARE MADE TO FAIL TO MAKE THE OWNER SPEND MONEY EVERY YEAR, I'VE HAD ALL TYPES OF MALFUNCTIONING WITHOUT ANYTHING MAJOR HAPPENING TO THE CAR. I SPENT OVER 2500$ REPLACING THE REAR SUSPENSION AFTER IT SPONTANEOUSLY STARTED MALFUNCTIONING BEING UNEVEN ETC.. AND NOW NOT LONG AFTER THE REAR ONES MESSED UP I'M HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE FRONT ONES. IT IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE THESE PRODUCTS FUNCTION WITH FRAGILITY AND LEAVE THE OWNER IN A PRECARIOUS POSITION BECAUSE THE CAR WILL LOWER ITSELF TO A HEIGHT WHERE THE CAR IS UNABLE TO DRIVE LEAVING THE DRIVER TO PAY POTENTIAL THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS... AND IF THE ACTUAL PUMP MALFUNCTIONS YOU ARE LOOKING AT AT LEAST 6!GRAND FOR ONE PART. I'VE ALREADY BEEN TAKEN FOR ABOUT 10000 FROM MERCEDES LAST YEAR ALONE.. TAKATA RECALL. I HAVE BEEN COMPLAINING TO MY LOCAL MECEDES BENZ DEALER THAT MY SRS LIGHT IS NOW ON. I FEEL THIS IS PUTTING ME IN A DANGEROUS SITUATION BECAUSE THERE IS A RECALL TO FIX THE AIRBAG. I FEEL MY CAR SHOULD BE A PRIORITY AS ONE OF THE FIRST TO GET FIXED SINCE THE WARNING IS THERE NOW. I FEEL MY LIFE AND THOSE OF MY LOVED ONES ARE UNNECESSARILY BEING PUT IN HARMS WAY WHEN THEY CAN FIX THIS ISSUE IMMEDIATELY. CPSC: MY 2011 MERCEDES E-CLASS SEDAN HAS A DESIGN FLAW THAT CAUSES THE CLIP ON THE REAR SEATBELTS TO RUB AGAINST THE BELTS AND EVENTUALLY WEAR THEM AWAY. *DT *JS
STRONG SMELL OF GASOLINE DETECTED. REPAIR TECHNICIAN IDENTIFIED A FUEL TANK LEAK AND STATED OTHER MERCEDES EFFECTED BY THE ISSUE. I CALL MBUSA WHO SAID THEY HAVE NO RECALLS OR WARRANTY EXTENSIONS ON THIS MAKE, MODEL AND YEAR.

THE AIRBAG IN THE HEADREST, JUST NOTICE IT WAS LOSE, NO ACCIDENT OR ANYTHING TOOK CAR TO DEALER THE CAR IS UNDER FACTOR WARRANTY AND WAS TOLD I HAD TO PAY FOR IT. ALSO THERE WAS WATER COMING INSIDE OF MY CAR, TOOK IT TO THE DEALER. THEY SAID THE SUN ROOF WAS CLOGGED AGAIN MY CAR IS UNDER FACTORY WARRANTY, THEY STATED IT IS POSSIBLY A RECALL, THE PART WAS 32.00 AND THE LABOR WAS 458.00. I PARK IN A GARAGE, CAR ONLY HAVE 57,000 MILES AND I HAVE TO PAY FOR IT.

AIRMATIC ISSUES AT HIGHWAY LOWERED, AIR LEAK AFTER COMPONENTS BEING TESTED BY MERCEDES-BENZ OF CARAL GABLES. THIS IS AN DANGEROUS ISSUE
WHEN FILLING UP THE GAS TANK, THERE IS A STRONG GASOLINE SMELL INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE CAR. MERCEDES HAS EXTENDED THE WARRANTY ON PREVIOUS YEARS AND OTHER MODELS BUT HAS NOT EXTENDED THE WARRANTY TO 15 YEARS FOR THIS DEFECT TO THE 2011 E350.

I HAVE RECEIVED A LETTER FROM MERCEDES BENZ USA, DATED DECEMBER 2017, INFORMING ME (AGAIN) THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIRBAG IS ON RECALL, BUT THAT NO PART IS YET AVAILABLE FOR REPLACEMENT. I AM TO BE NOTIFIED WHEN PART BECOMES AVAILABLE. THE PROBLEM IS THAT I LIVE ON KAUA'I AND THE NEAREST AUTHORIZED MERCEDES DEALER IS MERCEDES BENZ OF HONOLULU. IT WOULD COST ME SEVERAL HUNDRED DOLLARS TO HAVE THE CAR BARGED TO AND FROM HONOLULU AND WOULD BE A GREAT INCONVENIENCE AS BOTH I AND MY SPOUSE ARE DISABLED. THIS VEHICLE WAS ORIGINALLY SOLD AND REGISTERED IN FLORIDA MEANING THAT THIS VEHICLE HAS SPENT THE VAST MAJORITY OF IT'S LIFE IN A HIGH HUMIDITY ENVIRONMENT. WITH TAKATA RECENTLY DECLARING BANKRUPTCY, WHAT IS BEING DONE ABOUT THE POTENTIALLY HAZARDOUS AIRBAGS IN MY VEHICLE? MERCEDES-BENZ IS ABLE TO TELL ME NOTHING. I FIND THIS SITUATION TO BE UNACCEPTABLE.
