When driving on the highway going 65mph the car slipped in neutral and error showed on dashboard "transmission malfunction stop." I could steer and break, but not accelerate. Pulling over on side of highway, I was able to put in park and then drive. I pulled off the exit and the car did the same thing within 10 mins. Car was towed to Mercedes dealership in Warwick, RI. I was made aware after inspection that there was nothing wrong with the vehicle nor the transmission, but rather there was a needed software update that was causing the issue that had been identified previously. Regular service was due, but no indication whatsoever of the error I saw nor any other error codes. No error showed up for the technicians in inspecting the car. I was further informed, after research, that the software update was being drafted and that it would have to pass NHTSA governance. So I'd like to know if this is accurate? If NHTSA is aware? If the software update is sitting with you for approval? What is Mercedes obligation to share this with drivers noting they were aware of issue? If my [XXX] was driving she could have been killed. If I was accelerating on the highway or turning in front of a vehicle legally, I could have been killed. Thank you. Brake over heats because of rust caused by rain which builds up causing brakes to freeze up. Explanation from dealer. In fact told us we need to dry brakes off if we drive in rain and park in garage for more than 2 days or we will have it happen again. Brakes freeze and car locked up and can’t move it. We bought the car used had it inspected by a MBD in Atlanta G. Bulkhead , told breaks were like new. Mileage 23,666 miles. Put on about 4000 miles now brakes gone froze up from rain. Garage kept. While driving car we were noticing almost like the breakers were on but not stepping on break. A pulling like action. Seemed like emergency brake was on. Car at dealership now in Greenville SC Mercedes Benz dealer.
My fuel injection has been replaced 2 times in 3 years. Was advised that it could cause damages to other parts
Despite maintaining the vehicle according to the recommended schedule, I have encountered ongoing performance issues (electrical, rear shocks, fan motor etc.) that are not in line with the standard of quality I expect from a brand of your reputation. Window not going down all the way on the driver side. Radio not working but was fixed. These issues have caused inconvenience and concern regarding the reliability of the vehicle. To address my concerns, I spoke with a Mercedes-Benz representative who informed me that, due to the problems I’ve experienced, I may be eligible for either an extended warranty or a credit toward the purchase of a new vehicle. After careful consideration, I opted for the extended warranty. However, I was later informed that this option had not been approved—despite it initially being presented as available. This contradiction is both confusing and frustrating, and it has significantly diminished my confidence in the customer service process.
this car really has a lot of issues and honestly if I didn’t know what to do last night and didn’t know about cars, it could have seriously cost me my life but luckily I was able to move out the way of a truck that was coming fast behind me while I was at a traffic light and when the light turned green the car would not start back up from the automatic stop when you make stops and because the auto shut off never came back on and I had to literally make a split second decision and put it in park and start up again and go quick. The check engine light has been on since July 14,2024 and I bought the car on July 13,2024 and the dealership has not done anything about this issues and this morning these are all the codes that came up and there’s a lot of codes and Mercedes hasn’t called me back even after the calls and emails I’ve sent them, no one is calling me back.
Coordinate this complaint with previous complaints reference 11569682 and 11569502, As of last night the car has 1136 miles. I have thoroughly tested the car to the best of my ability and set and reset the settings. The hill decent has only engaged twice. The car is supposed to read speed limit signs and it does show up in the instrument panel but the car speeds up randomly i.e. from 35 to 50 and above to not limited to 35. The adaptive speed control at random will malfunction the car will not slow down and brake. This has happened several times. When turn signal is engaged and you enter turning lane the car may slow down or not. This vehicle I was told is a MBUA corporate vehicle held back at MBUSA for over 2 years then auctioned. Fletcher Jones Las Vegas had the vehicle on the lot with 47 miles and sold it to me with 48 miles. There is no maintenance or service record the driver assist system, hardware, software system was checked, calibrated, repaired or tested. Given the mileage the car was not road tested. " THIS VEHICLE IS A ROAD HAZARD WAITING FOR AN ACCIDENT TO HAPPEN" It needs to be repaired, road tested, and certified safe by MBUSA and Fletcher Jones. What is the secret and reason why MBUSA held back this car and then 2 years later auction it off? My wife nearly rearended a car that had slowed down and. The driver assist failed to slow down and stop the car. I have experienced this and other experience's listed above several times and sometimes 50% of the time and have to manually engage the brake to slow down, stop, and disengage driver assist system.
All advance driver assistance system has a 50% work fail reliability. It may work it may fail to work, I bought the cat from a Mercades Dealer in Las Vegas with 48 miles on it. The vehicle has approx 900 now. The driver assist system fails daily, it is unreliable, dangerous and a hazard to occupants and others. It needs to be inspected and repaired, recalled.
Driver assist adaptive speed control, braking, lane control all boxes checked has a 50/50 work fail that is it may work may not work. This is a safety concern that needs to be checked by MBUSA
I purchased my car in April of this year 2022 and have driven less than 10K miles. The tread of my front two tires has already worn down to less than 3/32 compared to the rear wheel 6/32. Driving conditions are normal and according to Mercedes this is known issue. This exceeds normal wear and tear and should be a safety concern.
The contact leased a 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLB250. The failure mileage was approximately 150.
Parked the car not far from home, when my boyfriend got out and shut the door, the sunroof completely imploded. Tempered yet sharp shards were everywhere including my mouth, hair and body. MB took no responsibility and wound even have the car towed. Roof was repaired via my car insurance including private towing. MB wanted nothing to do with me. I do know that this has been a serious problem all over the country for some time. Please advise.
According to a MB USA representative, the warning light instructing me not to drive over 50 miles per hour was related to my suspension. In addition to the warning light, I have repeatedly expressed my concerns about a loud creaking noise coming from the wheel area while driving, turning the corner, pulling in and out of driveway, etc. However, South Bay Mercedes is never able to duplicate the noise or identity the warning. I have also contacted MB USA on multiple occasions and they confirmed that I have three (3) open cases, but refuse to provide me with the case number and fail to respond as stated during each call. The suspension warning light has been coming on, intermittently, a few months after I purchased the vehicle and South Bay Mercedes only suggested a tire change and service appointments while blatantly disregarding the problem. Now I am getting a warning light that states, Service Required Do Not Shift Gears Visit Dealer. I have had this car less than a year as it was purchased brand new, and South Bay Mercedes/MB USA have been giving me the runaround for months; only corresponding to schedule upcoming service appointments. I have since changed my front tires, but continue to get warning messages. I have repeatedly expressed concerns about my safety and never received a response from MB USA.
