Open the full vehicle complaint log (all categories)Collision prevention assist inoperative. Car at local Mercedes dealer. Told that a $317 software update was required to make system operative again. I do not understand how it is ethical for a corporation to alter their software, make a safety system inoperative, and the ask the customer to pay to make system operative again via a software update. This is unethical, a significant safety concern and just wrong. Thank you, [XXX] INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
