2008 MERCURY MARQUIS PAINT IS BUBBLING AND PEELING. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 MERCURY GRAND MARQUIS. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH THE CONTACT BEGAN TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL TO DECELERATE WHILE APPROACHING A TRAFFIC LIGHT. THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN AND THERE WAS AN INCREASE IN THE RPMS. THE FAILURE OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY AND OVER TIME BECAME PROGRESSIVELY WORSE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 63,000. UPDATED 10/4/11 *CN THE DEALER STATED THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS ADJUSTED TO HIGH, WHICH MAY HAVE INTERFERED WITH THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THEY LOWERED THE AUTOMATIC BRAKE PEDAL . UPDATED 10/24/11
THE DRIVERS SIDE SEAT BELT FAILED TO LATCH, THE BUCKLE WOULD NOT GO INTO THE RECEIVER. WE TOOK IT TO LAWRENCE HALL LINCOLN MERCURY DEALERSHIP WHERE WE PURCHASED THE CAR NEW. THE TECH. SHOWED US HOW TO USE A SCREWDRIVER TO LATCH AND UNLATCH THE BELT. HE ORDER THE PART, WE TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THE DISCOVERED IT WAS THE WRONG PART. THEY REORDERED THE PART AND DISCOVERED IT WAS STILL THE WRONG PART. THEY WANT US TO KEEP USING THE SCREWDRIVER. I FEEL THIS IS UNSAFE AND IF THIS IS A PROBLEM THEN THE DEPT. SHOULD KNOW ABOUT IT. WE ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR THE BELTS THEN IF THE BREAK IT SHOULD NOT TAKE 2 WEEKS TO FIX.
THE AA CONTROL WENT OUT IN APRIL 2010. I HAD BOUGHT A FORD CERTIFIED 2008 GRAND MARQUIS THAT WAS OVER ON THE MILAGE WARRENTY BUT STILL UNDER THE TIME WARENTY. THE BLOWER WOULD ONLY BLOW AIR THROUGHT THE DEFROSTERS UNDER THE WINDSHIELD. I BROUGHT IT TI THE DEALER WERE I PURCHASED IT AND AFTER INSPECTION DETERMONED THAT THE AC CONTROL UNIT #3W7Z*19980 WENT BAD AND WAS TOLD IT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED @650.00 FORD WOULD NOT HONOR THE WARRENTY. I HAD IT RELACED. IN FEB. 2011 IT WENT OUT AGAIN. THE PART WAS COVERED UNDER THE 1 YEAR WARRENTY BUT SINCE I DRIVE FOR A LIVING FORD WOULD NOT COVER IT BEAUSE OF THE MILES. THATS ANOTHER PROBLEM THAT SHOULD BE LOOKED INTO. I LOOKED ON THE INTERNET AND FOUND THAT THERE WERE NUMEROUS TIMES THE OWNERS WERE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THIS UNIT. MY COMPLAINT IS THIS IS A PART THAT SHOULD NEVER GO BAD IN A 2 YR. TIME FRAME THEN GO BAD AGIN IN LESS THAN A YEAR. WHATS GOING ON HERE? *TT
ON OCTOBER 27, 2010, MY WIFE WAS DRIVING WITH ME IN THE CAR AND SHE STARTED TO BRAKE FOR A RED LIGHT. SHE WAS GOING ABOUT 30 MILES PER HOUR. AS SOON AS SHE APPLIED THE BRAKE, THE ENGINE ACCELERATED AND SHE HAD TO USE A LARGE AMOUNT OF BRAKING PRESSURE TO STOP THE CAR. AS SOON AS THE CAR STOPPED, SHE TOOK HER FOOT OFF THE BRAKE AND THE ENGINE RETURNED TO IDLE. YESTERDAY, I WAS DRIVING THE CAR AT APPROXIMATELY 55 MILE PER HOUR AND STARTED TO MOVE INTO THE PASSING LANE WHEN THE TRAFFIC LIGHT AHEAD TURNED RED. I APPLIED THE BRAKE AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED. I HAD TO APPLY A LARGE AMOUNT OF PRESSURE ON THE BRAKE PEDDLE IN ORDER TO STOP THE CAR WHILE THE ENGINE RACED ON. AS SOON AS THE CAR STOPPED, THE ENGINE RETURNED TO IDLE AND THE PROBLEM WAS OVER. YESTERDAY, I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED AND THEY KEPT THE CAR OVERNIGHT TO RUN VARIOUS TESTS. THEY FOUND NOTHING. I PICKED THE CAR UP THIS AFTERNOON AND AM GOING TO NOW TAKE IT TO ANOTHER DEALER FOR INSPECTION. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 MERCURY GRAND MARQUIS. AFTER DRIVING IN REVERSE AND SHIFTING INTO DRIVE FROM A STOP LIGHT THE VEHICLE SURGED FORWARD AND CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. ONE PERSON WAS REPORTED INJURED. SMOKE WAS SEEN COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACTS RESIDENCE. THE FAILURE HAD NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALER. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 42,000.
CRUISE CONTROL, SUDDEN ACCELERATION. CAR WENT TO 80 BEFORE I COULD STOP IT VEHICLE IS A 2008 MERCURY GRAND MARQUIS LS WITH 27,500 MILES ON IT . THE DEALER REPLACED THE ECM. THIS HAPPENED TO MY WIFE ALSO AT 35 MPH WENT TO 65 BEFORE SHE STOPPED IT. *TR
IN JULY 2009 I PURCHASED A SLIGHTLY USED 2008 MERCURY GRAND MARQUIS. ON MANY OCCASIONS WHILE DRIVING I HAVE APPLIED THE BRAKES ONLY TO FEEL THE CAR ACCELERATE WITHOUT WARNING. I HAVE NOT HAD ANY ACCIDENTS, BUT I FEEL THAT IT IS JUST A MATTER OF TIME .... THE PROBLEM RESIDES IN THE CLOSE PROXIMITY OF THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL TO THE BRAKE PEDAL. MY CAR HAS AUTO-ADJUST PEDAL HEIGHT, BUT UNFORTUNATELY BOTH PEDALS ADJUST AS A SINGLE UNIT, RATHER THAN ONE-AT-A-TIME. SIMPLY, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL IS TOO FAR TO THE LEFT - ABOUT TWO INCHES FROM THE RHS EDGE OF THE BRAKE PEDAL, AND WHEN I DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL, OFTEN THE RIGHT-HAND EDGE OF THE SOLE OF MY SHOE CONTACTS THE SURFACE OF THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, LEADING TO THE SURGE OF POWER -- WHICH IS THE PROBLEM. THIS IS MADE WORSE IN THAT WHEN THE BRAKE IS APPLIED, THE PEDAL WILL PASS TO AND THROUGH THE PLANE OF THE SURFACE OF THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THUS MAKING THIS SHOE-CONTACT MORE LIKELY. THERE IS ABUNDANT ROOM TO MOVE THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL TO THE RIGHT - WITH A NEWLY-DESIGNED PEDAL SHAFT. (THE PRESENT PEDAL "HOOKS" TO THE LEFT AT THE BOTTOM PART, SORT OF LIKE THE LOWER PART OF THIS "9" DIGIT) OR, THE PEDALS COULD BE RAISED UP/LOWERED INDEPENDENTLY, IN ORDER TO INCREASE THE VERTICAL DISTANCE BETWEEN THEM. A THICKER RUBBER PAD ON THE BRAKE PEDAL WOULD ACCOMPLISH THIS HANDILY -- IT WOULD NEED TO BE ABOUT ONE INCH THICKER. I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THIS. I CONTACTED FORD MOTOR COMPANY ABOUT THIS PROBLEM WITHIN A SHORT TIME OF BUYING THE CAR. I HAVE CONTACTED THEM SEVERAL TIMES, INCLUDING TODAY, BUT SO FAR THEY HAVE BEEN UNRESPONSIVE. MY GRAND MARQUIS LS 2008 PAINT HAVE CRACKED AND FALLING OFF THE HOOD, TOP, AND BACK. IT IS RUSTED ON TOP WERE THE PAINT HAVE PEEL OFF AND NOW ITS STARTING ON THE HOOD. TOOK BACK TO DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THE PAINT ON CAR WAS NOT COVER. IT START PEELING TWO MONTH AFTER WE GOT THE CAR DIDN'T HAVE THEM MANY MILES. SO WHAT CAN BE DONE ABOUT MY CAR PEELING PAINT. EVERY TIME YOU WASH THE CAR MORE PAINT COMING OFF. AFTER THAT THE ENGINE COOLING SYSTEM WENT OUT AND THEY TOLD ME THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE. *TR
BRAKE AND GAS PEDAL TO CLOSE TOGETHER WHEN APPLYING BRAKES ALSO HIT GAS HAS HAPPENED MANY TIMES ALMOST REQUIRES A CONSCIOUS EFFORT TO AVOID THIS PROBLEM. *TR
I WAS PREPARING TEST DRIVE 2008 MERCURY MARQUIS AT HONOLULU FORD. I WAS STOPPED AT THE EXIT TO HOUGHTAILING ST WHEN THE ENGINE ACCELERATE. I LOOKED DOWN AND MY FOOT WAS NOT ON THE GAS IT WAS ON THE BRAKE. THE CAR STARTED TO MOVE OUT INTO THE STREET CROSSING THE ROAD HITTING ANOTHER VEHICLE AND A LIGHT POLE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 MERCURY GRAND MARQUIS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL AND DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH, THE RPM READING INCREASED AS THE VEHICLE JERKED FORWARD. THE CONTACT STATED ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE RECURRED VARIOUS TIMES CAUSING A CRASH. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED, CAUSING THE CONTACT TO CRASH INTO A GUARD RAIL AND A CONCRETE WALL. THE POLICE REPORTED TO THE SCENE AND A REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS WHERE THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 17,869. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 MERCURY GRAND MARQUIS. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH ON A TWO LANE ROAD, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT REAR ENDED THE PRECEDING VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS INJURED. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY AND THE SEAT BELT DID NOT TIGHTEN. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 17,000. REMAILED 12/10/08. *LJ
UNEXPECTED ACCELERATION OF 2008 MERCURY GRAND MARQUIS, WHILE MY FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE, SLOWING THE VEHICLE. THIS HAPPENED TWICE IN THE PAST 3 DAYS. SECOND INCIDENT OCCURRED OCT. 31, 2008. EACH INCIDENT NEARLY CAUSED MY VEHICLE TO STRIKE ANOTHER VEHICLE. *TR
2008 MERCURY GRAND MARQUIS LS HAD AN ELECTRICAL OUTAGE. *NJ THE CONSUMER STATED THE TRUNK LID WOULD NOT OPEN USING THE REMOTE CONTROL OR BY PUSHING THE BUTTON. ALL OF THE LIGHTS WENT OUT ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND THE HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT AS WELL. *JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 MERCURY GRAND MARQUIS. THE CONTACT STATED HE STARTED THE VEHICLE AND WHEN DEPRESSING THE BRAKES, THE VEHICLE ABNORMALLY ACCELERATED. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO STOP THE UNINTENDED ACCELERATION AND THE VEHICLE DROVE OVER A CURB AND CRASHED INTO A SIGN. THE CONTACT AND PASSENGER BOTH SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES TO THEIR NECKS FROM THE SEAT BELT. THE VEHICLE SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL FRONT END DAMAGES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND INSPECTED BUT THE CAUSE OF THE UNINTENDED ACCELERATION FAILURE WAS NOT DISCLOSED TO THE CONTACT. THE BODY DAMAGE WAS REPAIRED AND THE CONTACT TRADED THE VEHICLE FRO ANOTHER. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 500. UPDATED 10/01/2010. *LJ UPDATED 10/04/10
LOUD BANGING NOISE COMING FROM THE RIGHT REAR SUSPENSION AREA WHEN GOING OVER SPEED BUMPS AND MAKING RIGHT HAND TURNS. I HAVE HAD THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP 13 TIMES AND THEY HAVE TOLD ME NOT TO BRING IT BACK, THAT I NEED TO LEARN TO LIVE WITH IT. *TR

I COINCIDENTLY BACKED OUT OF PARKING SLOT AS OFFICE WORKER BACKED OUT OF HERS. REAR BUMPERS TAPPED--NON-EVENT. ON SHIFT (AUTO. TRANSMISSION) INTO DRIVE TO MOVE FORWARD OUT OF THE WAY, THE CAR ROCKETED UNEXPECTEDLY SEEMINGLY AT FULL-THROTTLE, TIRES SCREECHING. I SLAMMED ON THE BREAKS. (5 YARDS BETWEEN ACCELERATING AND BREAKING TIRE MARKS.) IN THOSE 5 YARDS THE RENTAL CAR STRUCK THE FRONT END OF THE OFFICE'S SUV (2000 MERCURY MOUNTAINEER), LIFTING AND SHOVING IT FROM ITS PARKING PLACE OVER A CONCRETE TIRE BARRIER AND ONTO A GRASSED LANDSCAPE AREA. SUV MAY BE "TOTALED." FRONT AND HOOD OF RENTAL CAR ('08 MERCURY GRAND MARQUIS) BASHED IN. DRIVER AND PASSENGERS, BELTED, OK. LAKELAND, CO POLICE WERE TELEPHONED FROM THE OFFICE. PERSONNEL WAITED 2 HOURS, BUT THEY NEVER CAME TO THE SITE. *TR
WE WERE INVOLVED IN AN AUTOMOBILE CRASH ON JUNE 22, 2008. WE BELIEVE IT WAS DUE TO A DEFECT WE HAD PREVIOUSLY REPORTED. WE WERE ENTERING A PARKING LOT WHEN WE COULD NOT STOP THE CAR FROM SPEEDING UP. WE EVENTUALLY HIT THE SIDE OF A BUILDING BEFORE WE GOT STOPPED. WE OWN A MERCURY GRAND MARQUIS 2008. I AM AFRAID WE WILL BE KILLED OR KILL SOMEONE ELSE. 2008 MERCURY GRAND MARQUIS PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT IS ACTIVATED INDICATING AIR BAG WILL NOT DEPLOY WHEN A PASSENGER IS SEATED . OCCURS ABOUT 10 -15 % OF THE TIME STARTING ABOUT 6 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING THE CAR NEW .. CONDITIONS THAT HAVE BEEN OBSERVED INCLUDE RECLINING SEAT, PUSHING SEAT BACK, MAKING TURNS, HITTING A BUMP OR POTHOLE . HAVE HAD IT IN FOR SERVICE ON SIX SEPARATE OCCASIONS AND DEALER CANNOT FIND ANY DIAGNOSTIC CODE INDICATING THAT THE AIRBAG SYSTEM IS MALFUNCTIONING EVEN WHEN THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT IS ON . THE DRIVER SIDE MASTER AIRBAG WARNING SYSTEM DOES NOT COME ON WHEN THE PASSENGER SIDE WARNING LIGHT COMES ON . FORD CONFIRMS THAT WHEN THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT COMES ON THE AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY IN EVENT OF A CRASH . FORD ASSIGNED A CASE NO. XXXXXX , AVAILABLE ON REQUEST , AFTER REPEATED ATTEMPTS TO DIAGNOSE PROBLEM BY SERVICE DEPT . ,LEITH LINCOLN MERCURY, RALEIGH NC , FINALLY A FORD SERVICE ENGINEER CHECKED THE AIRBAG SYSTEM . FORD CLAIMS THE SYSTEM IS WORKING AS DESIGNED AND THAT MY WIFE'S WEIGHT 110 # IS THE PROBLEM .FORD CONFIRMS THAT WHEN THE PASSENGER SIDE WARNING LIGHT IS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY . FORD CANNOT EXPLAIN WHY THIS MALFUNCTION IS INTERMITTENT AND WHY SEAT POSITION , BUMPS OR TURNS CAUSE A MALFUNCTION . WE TRIED A 2010 MERCURY GRAND MARQUIS WITH SAME AIRBAG SYSTEM AND COULD NOT GET THE WARNING SYSTEM TO ACTIVATE DUPLICATING THE CONDITIONS AS NOTED ABOVE . FORD'S CUSTOMER RELATIONS DEPT REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING MORE TO FIX THE DEFECT SAYING THAT THE AIRBAG SYSTEM IS FUNCTIONING AS DESIGNED . *TR
JUST BOUGHT THE 2008 GRAND MARQUIS, FIRST DAY, RADIO DID NOT WORK, (STILL DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY). TOOK THE CAR IN FOR OIL CHANGE 2500 MILES, ALSO ASKED THEM TO CHECK OUT A NOISE THE CAR WAS MAKING. I WAS JUST INFORMED YESTERDAY I NEED A NEW ENGINE. THEY THE DEALER SAID IT WAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE TIMING CHAIN AT FIRST THE REPLACED THAT PART AND STILL HAD THE NOISE. I WILL NEVER OWN A FORD PRODUCT, AND THEY WONDER WHY THEY ARE LOSING MARKET SHARE!!! BY THE WAY, THIS IS MY 9TH GRAND MARQUIS, I JUST TRADED AN 2005 TO GET RID OF IT, IT TOO HAD A NOISE THEY COULD NOT FIX. NOW MY WIFE WILL NOT EVEN DRIVE THIS ONE WHEN WE GET IT BACK FROM THE DEALER. *TR
THE FIRST TIME I CHANGED THE OIL IN MY 2008 MERCURY GRAND MARQUIS WHEN I STARTED THE ENGINE THERE WAS A LOUD MECHANICAL NOISE FOR A FEW SECONDS. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND TOLD HIM TO CHANGE THE OIL AND LISTEN FOR THE NOISE WHICH THEY HEARD AND WAS TOLD ALL 2008 GRAND MARQUIS DO THIS .ALSO I NOTICE THE ENGINE IS NOISY IN THE MORNING WHEN I START IT. I THINK FORD HAS A PROBLEM WITH THESE ENGINES IF THEY ALL DO IT. *TR
FALSE ACCELERATION OF 2008 MERCURY GRAND MARQUIS. ON OCT. 9TH, MY WIFE AND I AND TWO FRIENDS (FROM PA AND DE) WERE IN VEHICLE HEADED FOR DINNER. CRANKED VEHICLE AFTER SETTING FOR APPROXIMATELY 22 HOURS. ENGINE REVVED UP TO AN ESTIMATED 4000 RPM CREATED LOUD RUMBLING SOUND AND VIBRATED VEHICLE. I WAS TOO FRIGHTENED TO LOOK AT TACHOMETER. TURNED SWITCH KEY OFF. MADE 3 ATTEMPTS TO START ENGINE. FINALLY REMOVED KEY FOR APPROXIMATELY 10 TO 15 SECONDS, CAR STARTED AND SEEMED NORMAL. PROBLEM HAS NOT REOCCURRED, HOWEVER MY WIFE WILL NOT DRIVE VEHICLE. FRANKLY ALL FOUR PEOPLE IN CAR HAD A '!@#$% FRIGHTENING. THIS TOOK PLACE IN OAK RIDGE TN. ON OCT. 9, 2007. OCT.10 DROVE VEHICLE TO LINCOLN-MERCURY DEALER IN OAK RIDGE. THEY STATED THAT IF THE ENGINE SERVICE LIGHT DID NOT COME ON, THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO FIND ANY PROBLEM. ON OCT. 19 VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ISLAND LINCOLN/MERCURY DEALER IN MERRITT ISLAND FL. (VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED THERE.) SERVICE MANAGER DROVE VEHICLE ON TEST DRIVE AND TOLD ME IN A NICE MANNER THAT I MUST HAVE HAD MY FOOT ON THE BRAKES AND GAS PEDAL AT SAME TIME. NOT TRUE. I HAVE TESTED STARTING THIS VEHICLE SEVERAL TIMES WITH ONE FOOT ON BRAKE AND OTHER FOOT ON GAS PEDAL. ENGINE REVS UP NORMALLY, NO RUMBLING WHAT SO EVER. THE RUMBLING CAUSED ME TO BELIEVE THAT SOME CYLINDERS WERE NOT FIRING DURING THIS EVENT. DEALER DID NOT MAKE ANY ATTEMPT TO FIND OR DUPLICATE PROBLEM. UPDATE ON ODI NUMBER 10208094. ON THE DAY THE MERCURY THAT I OWN WAS RETURNED TO THE DEALER TO SOLVE THE SAFETY PROBLEM, AN ACCIDENT OCCURRED WITHIN 10 MILES OF MY HOME. THE VEHICLE WAS A LATE MODEL LINCOLN TOWN CAR. ONE PERSON WAS PRONOUNCED DEAD AT THE HOSPITAL AND THE DRIVER DIED A FEW DAYS LATER. I HAVE SEARCHED THE INTERNET AND FOUND NUMEROUS SIMILAR INCIDENTS WITH FORD MOTOR COMPANY VEHICLES. FORD MOTOR COMPANY SHOULD TELL THEIR DEALERS TO STOP THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENTS FROM GIVING THEIR CUSTOMERS BULL CRAP AND DO THE SENSIBLE THING OF FINDING OUT WHAT IS REALLY WRONG. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 MERCURY GRAND MARQUIS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE USING THE CRUISE CONTROL, APPLYING THE BRAKES AND RESUMING TO NORMAL THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED TO HIGHER SPEEDS. THE VEHICLE STOPPED AFTER THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS APPLIED. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY A DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE SINCE THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE IT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 4,500.
WHEN STEPPING ON BRAKE, MOTOR RACED UP TO 5000 RPM. ( LIKE CRUISE CONTROL WAS ENGAGING. HAD TO GO TO NEUTRAL PUMP THE ACCELERATOR TO BRING RPM DOWN. IN A PARKING LOT WITH BOTH FEET ON THE BRAKE IT PUSHED ME 5 FEET BEFORE I COULD GET IT UNDER CONTROL. *JB
I WAS DRIVING ON THE NY THRUWAY WHEN I NOTICED THE FRONT OF MY HOOD WAS VIBRATING I HAD ALREADY TRAVELED FOR OVER 200 MILES I NEVER OPENED OR RELEASED THE HOOD IT CAME LOOSE BY ITSELF,THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE, I HAD TO PULL OVER IN THE BREAK DOWN LANE TO CLOSE IT THE HOOD HAD NOT BEEN OPENED FOR SERVICE PRIOR TO THIS OCCASION. *TR
