DRIVERS BELT DOESN'T UNLOCK
AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ON DASH INSTRUMENT PANEL STAYS ON, INDICATING THAT AIR BAG IS NOT ACTIVATED,
PASSENGER AIRBAG WARNINGLIGHT IN INSTRUNMENT CLUSTER STAYS ON. THE AIRBAG IS CURRENTLY DEACTIVATED. THIS ITEM IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE WARANTY. WHY NOT?
WHEN I COME TO A COMPLETE STOP THERE IS VIBRATION COMING FROM WHERE THE AIR BAG IS. I HAVE NOTICED THIS THE PAST FEW MONTHS AND IT IS CONSTANT EVERY TIME I AM AT A STOP. THIS ONLY HAPPENS WHEN I HAVE A PASSENGER AND THE AIR BAG LIGHT GOES OFF. *TR

DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR WAS STRUCK BY A CHEVY ASTRO CARGO VAN GOING APPROXIMATELY 70 MILES PER HOUR ON THE HIGHWAY (D.C. BELTWAY) AND THE SIDE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A MARYLAND STATE TROOPER (WHO SAW THE CAR) AND THE MECHANIC AT THE AUTO REPAIR SHOP WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BOTH SAID THE AIRBAGS SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED. BOTH SAID IF THE AIRBAGS HAD WORKED, THE DRIVER WOULD NOT BE AS SEVERELY INJURED. *JB
THE AIR BAG ON MY 2008 (PURCHASED NEW IN AUGUST 2009) MERCURY MARINER DEPLOYED (NO ACCIDENT) FORD, IN EFFECT CALLED ME A LIAR BUT FARMERS INSURANCE FIXED THE PROBLEM AND DID NOT CHARGE THE INCIDENT AS AN ACCIDENT. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THIS VEHICLE BUT AS I HAVE SAID BEFORE FORD WHILE BEING VERY POLITE SAID THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED. THAT HAS THE EFFECT OF CALLING ME A LIAR BUT, THERE ARE ARTICLES THAT SHOW THAT AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT DOES HAPPEN. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 MERCURY MARINER. THE CONTACT STATED THE AIR BAGS INVOLUNTARILY DEPLOYED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE CONTACTS INSURANCE COMPANY WAS ALSO UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 30,635. UPDATED 06/16/11 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED AS HE WAS ENTERING A SMALL DRIVEWAY TO A STORE, THE AIR BAG SUDDENLY DEPLOYED. HE THEN HIT A CURB AND DAMAGED THE OIL PAN. UPDATED 12/05/11
