IT HAPPENED ABOUT ONCE A MONTH, I WOULD HAVE NO POWER STEERING WHEN IN TRAFFIC, IN MOTION, TURNING FOR ABOUT 3 - 5 SECONDS, THEN BACK TO NORMAL STEERING. I DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT ANY RECALL AT THE TIME. THEN WHILE IN MOTION, TURNING INTO TRAFFIC POWER STEERING STOPPED COMPLETELY, WITH MESSAGE "POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT" I LOOKED ONLINE, AND FOUND OUT ABOUT THE RECALL. DEALER SAYS STEERING RECALL WAS COMPLETED BUT I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED WHEN. THE PROBLEM HAS NEVER STOPPED FOR ME. NOW IT IS A PERMANENT PROBLEM, AND DEALER SAYS NO WARRANTY, NO RECALL. CAN I FORCE THE DEALER TO RE-DO THE RECALL SOMEHOW?
WAS SLOWING TO TURN IN SHOPPING PLAZA LOSE POWER STEERING ALMOST RAN WOMEN OVER CROSS DRIVE WAY CAR WOULD NOT STEER WITHOUT MUCH FORCE THIS IS DANGEROUS HOW MANY MUST DIE BEFORE FORD FIXES THIS DO THEY REMEMBER GAS TANKS ? MY NEXT CALL IS TO 60 MINUTES .
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 MERCURY MARINER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH, THE POWER STEERING SUDDENLY FAILED AND THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN IN EITHER DIRECTION. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER AND LOCAL DEALER (DUNPHY FORD, 7700 FRANKFORD AVE, PHILADELPHIA, PA) WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 105,000.
WHEN I AM DRIVING TURNING THE WHEEL IT MAKE A LOUD CLICKING SOUND
MY CAR HAS A MALFUNCTION WITH THE POWER STEERING ASSIST. IT WENT OUT OF MY ON THE FREEWAY COMING HOME FROM GLENDALE, AZ TO RIVERTON, UT. IT WAS SO SCARY AND SO DIFFICULT TO GET HOME! MY MECHANIC INFORMED ME THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS PART. HOWEVER, SOMEHOW MY VIN IS NOT SHOWING THIS RECALL EVEN THOUGH IT IS THE EXACT YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL AFFECTED. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH IT TURNS OUT THAT FORD ONLY RECALLED A FRACTION OF THE VEHICLES THAT WAS MANUFACTURED WITH THIS FAULTY PART. HOW ARE THEY ONLY ACCOUNTABLE FOR SOME OF THE VEHICLES AFFECTED? CLEARLY I HAVE THE SAME FAULTY PART IN MY VEHICLE. I'VE CALLED EVERY DEALERSHIP IN THE VALLEY TRYING TO FIND INFORMATION ON WHY IT IS A "LOTTERY" ON WHO GETS THE RECALL FIXED AND WHO DOESN'T. THEY HAVE BASICALLY ALL TOLD ME TO GET STUFFED. I CAN'T DRIVE MY CAR AND THE PART IF VERY DIFFICULT TO FIND OUTSIDE OF THE DEALERSHIP, WHO I DO NOT WANT TO GO THROUGH AFTER HAVING THEM REFUSE TO CORRECT AN ISSUE THAT HAS A RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH IT. FORDS RECALL 14S05.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE STREET AND WENT TO TURN A CORNER AND MY POWER STEERING WENT OUT COMPLETELY. I HAVE A MESSAGE THAT POPS UP EVERY TIME I START MY CAR THAT SAYS POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILURE. I HAVE FOUND A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE BUT THE DEALERSHIP SAYS MY VIN ISN'T INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. MY VEHICLE WAS PRODUCED 02/2010 WHICH FALLS IN THE TIME FRAME OF THE RECALL.
I HAVE A 2010 MERCURY MARINER VOGA EDITION JUST TODAY A POWER STEERING ASSIST FAIL CAME ON THE DASHBOARD LOOK ONLINE SAYS BY MY MANUFACTURING DATE IT'S COVERED BUT ENTERED VIN IT DOESN'T SO WHY ISN'T IT I NEED THIS FIX THIS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM !!!
POWER STEERING SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING WHILE I WAS DRIVING. THE VEHICLE IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO NAVIGATE BUT I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF THE ROAD TO A SAFE AREA. AFTER SHUTTING THE CAR OFF FOR 15 MINUTES AND RESTARTING THE LACK OF POWER STEERING REMAINED, BUT THERE WAS NOW A MESSAGE SAYING "POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT". THIS CAR HAS SEVERAL OTHER ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS WITH REGARD TO THE A/C & BLOWER, AND ALSO THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW AND DOME LIGHTS WORK SPORADICALLY.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA ACTION NUMBER: DP15001 (STEERING) AND NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V284000 (STEERING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO BE DRIVEN DUE TO THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 93,000.
AFTER RECEIVING FORD'S RECALL NOTICE 16S41/16V-777 (FUEL DELIVERY MODULE POTENTIAL LEAK), MY HUSBAND & I TOOK OUR 2010 MERCURY MARINER TO LEBANON FORD TO PERFORM RECALL "REPAIR". WE WERE NOT HAVING AN ISSUE WITH THE MARINER, BUT WE WERE FOLLOWING FORD'S INSTRUCTIONS (VIA THEIR MAILED RECALL NOTICE TO US) TO HAVE THE RECALL DONE. NOW, OUR MARINER IS MESSED UP! IT NOW WON'T START WITHOUT A DELAYED CRANK (WE HAVE VIDEO RECORDINGS OF HOW LONG IT NOW TAKES FOR OUR MARINER TO START!) & SOMETIMES WHILE DRIVING, THE MARINER JERKS (BOTH PROBLEMS SEEM TO BE AS THOUGH THE CAR IS NOT GETTING FUEL). WE MADE A 2ND TRIP TO LEBANON FORD AFTER INFORMING THEM OF THE ISSUE THEY CREATED, BUT THEY DID NOT FIX THE DELAYED CRANK ISSUE OR THE CAR JERKING ISSUE! LEBANON FORD SERVICE IS STATING THEY CAN ONLY PERFORM THE RECALL REPAIR "ACCORDING TO FORD'S GUIDELINES". MY HUSBAND ASKED LEBANON FORD IF THE OLD PARTS COULD BE PUT BACK ON, BUT LEBANON FORD SAID THEY HAD TO SEND BACK THE OLD PARTS TO THE MANUFACTURER. SO, NOW OUR ONCE NICE MARINER HAS SIGNIFICANT ISSUES BECAUSE WE HAD A RECALL "REPAIR" DONE! WE REGRET HAVING THE RECALL ADDRESSED! PRIOR TO THE RECALL "REPAIR", WE HAD A NICE MARINER WITH UNDER 60K MILES. NOW, WE HAVE A MARINER WITH PROBLEMS DUE TO RECALL. IT'S NOT A REPAIR! IT'S DAMAGE! FURTHER, THEY'RE NOT OFFERING US ANY FIX TO THE DAMAGE FORD DID TO OUR CAR.
HAVING TWO ISSUES. THE FIRST ONE IS THE CHECK FUEL INTAKE WARNING LIGHT COMES ON AND MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON. THIS APPEARS TO BE CAUSING MY CAR TO CUT OUT DANGEROUSLY AT INTERSECTIONS AS WELL AS THE WRENCH LIGHT TO COME IN AND MY CAR 'LIMPS' HOME.

THE MOTOR HOME WAS PULLED OVER, THE CONTACT OPENED THE HOOD, AND NOTICED THAT THE TRANSMISSION OVERHEATED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CHUCK COLVIN FORD NISSAN (1925 N HWY 99 W, MCMINNVILLE, OR 97128, 503-472-6124), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS A KNOWN OCCURRENCE WITH THE TRANSMISSION AT APPROXIMATELY 50,000 MILES. I HAD JUST GOTTEN OFF THE HIGHWAY AND MY WRENC SYMBOL ILLUMINATED AND THE CAR IMMEDIATELY WENT INTO LIMP MODE. I CRAWLED TO A SAFE SPOT. IT WAS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. NO WARNING AT ALL

I RECEIVED SAFETY RECALL NOTICE 16S41 / NHTSA RECALL 16V-777. I INQUIRED ABOUT IT IN JANUARY 2018 AT MY LOCAL FORD DEALER. I WAS TOLD THE PARTS WERE BACK ORDERED. I CALLED TODAY TO SCHEDULED "THE WORKS" AND TO HAVE THIS ISSUE RESOLVED. THE REP STATED IF I DIDN'T HAVE AN OBVIOUS GASOLINE LEAK, I DIDN'T QUALIFY FOR THE REPAIR NOR NEED IT. THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE WHEN I RECEIVE A RECALL NOTICE, NORMALLY THEY REPLACE THE PART REGARDLESS OF ITS CURRENT STATE OF FUNCTIONALITY.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V777000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
MY 2010 MERCURY MARINER I RECENTLY PURCHASED SUDDENLY BECAME EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO STEER REQUIRING ALOT OF EFFORT TO TURN THE VEHICLE. LUCKILY NO ACCIDENT OCCURRED. I LATER FOUND A SAFETY RECALL ON THE NHTSA WEBSITE THAT STATED THIS COULD HAPPEN WITH THIS VEHICLE AND THAT FORD WOULD REPAIR THE PROBLEM FREE OF CHARGE. WHEN I CALLED FORD/LINCOLN THEY SAID THAT THIS VEHICLE HAD BEEN LOOKED AT A FEW MONTHS AGO AND HAD NOT DISPLAYED THIS PROBLEM AS OF THEN SO NO PARTS WERE REPLACED. NOW THAT IT ACTUALLY HAS DISPLAYED THE LACK OF STEERING PROBLEM THAT THE RECALL STATES IT COULD, FORD SAYS THEY DON'T HAVE TO FIX IT NOW BECAUSE THEY ALREADY LOOKED AT IT BEFORE IT DID IT... WHAT??? I AM HOPING YOU AT THE NHTSA WILL HELP ME TO GET FORD TO FOLLOW THROUGH ON HONORING THEIR SAFETY RECALL WITH MY VEHICLE AS THE RECALL STATES THAT FORD IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COST OF REPAIRS TO FIX THIS ISSUE WITH THE STEERING THAT MY VEHICLE IS EXPERIENCING. OBVIOUSLY SINCE MY VEHICLE DID EXACTLY WHAT THE SAFETY RECALL SAID IT COULD DO, FORD DID NOTHING TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM WHEN THEY CLAIM TO HAVE LOOKED AT IT BEFORE. THEREFORE, FORD SHOULD STILL BE REQUIRED TO HONOR THE SAFETY RECALL AND CORRECT THIS ISSUE. THANK YOU.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE DID NOT OCCUR UNTIL AFTER THE RECALL REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER FOR THE FAILURE AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PURGE VALUE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 129,105.

POWER STEERING ASSIST LITE UP ON DASH BOARD. POWER STEERING WENT OUT. CAN NOT STEER CAR AS I ATTEMPTED TO TURN AND DRIVE OUT OF PARKING LOT. PARKED CAR AND NOT DRIVING CAR.
WHILE DRIVING WEST ON I-80 AT NIGHT AT 75MPH IN WYOMING THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED A SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER STEERING WITHOUT NOTICE. A FORD DEALER SAYS THE EPAS SYSTEM FAILED AND HAS TO BE REPLACED BY THE OWNER FOR $800. THIS OCCURRED EVEN AFTER THE FORD EPAS PSCM RECALL REPROGRAMING WAS PERFORMED IN 07/2014.
I WAS DRIVING MY 2010 MERCURY MARINER , WHEN THE ENGINE LITE CAME ON WITH A LITTLE WRENCH LITE. MY CAR STARTED TO LOSE POWER AND I COULD NOT GET IT TO PICK UP POWER. I PULLED OF THE ROAD. I TURNED OFF MY CAR, I DIDN'T KNOW IF IT WOULD START AGAIN .VERY SCARY.I HAVE ONLY 86000 MILE ON IT .
I WAS DRIVING AT 65+ MPH ON EXPRESSWAY - VEHICLE STOPPED ACCELERATING AND A VIOLENT SHAKING OF THE VEHICLE OCCURRED FORCING ME OFF THE HIGHWAY - AT THIS TIME NOTICE AN IMAGE OF A "WRENCH" LIT UP ON DASH -- I WAS ABLE TO GET VEHICLE TO THE DEALER - NOT WORRIED DUE TO I STILL HAD 2000 MILES LEFT ON WARRANTY, ONLY TO BE TOLD THIS IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. MY QUESTION IS THIS IS HUGE SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD UNDER NO QUESTIONS BE A CHARGE TO THE CONSUMER. I WAS CHARGED 309.20 TO REPLACE THE THROTTLE BODY MOTOR AND ASSEMBLY. AFTER MUCH RESEARCH THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH MANY OF THE FORD VEHICLES. ATTACHED IS THE INVOICE THAT I HAD TO PAY. I HAVE TRIED TO OBTAIN THE ZONE REP FOR MY AREA AND I AM HAVING TROUBLE GETTING THIS INFO FROM MY DEALER. I AM STILL INVESTIGATING AS TO HOW TO OBTAIN THIS INFO AS I BELIEVE SOMEONE IN HIGHER POSITION THEN DEALER NEEDS TO BE AWARE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO GEORGE WAIKEM FORD (LOCATED AT 4321 LINCOLN WAY, E MASSILLON, OH) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL MODULE WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 148,000.
THE PASSENGER-SIDE, LIFTGATE GLASS HINGE ON THE REAR WINDOW BROKE DUE TO CORROSION ON A BOLT. THE WINDOW IS NOW LOOSE AND SAGGING ON THAT SIDE. WE TOOK IT TO A REPAIR SHOP TODAY, AND THE MECHANIC NOTICED THAT THE HINGE ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE IN ALSO VERY CORRODED, AND SAID IT WILL LIKELY BREAK SOON. (THERE ARE WHITE STREAKS FROM THE CORROSION RUNNING DOWN THE WINDOW.) THE WINDOW WOULD BE AT RISK OF FALLING OUT. IF THIS HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY, IT COULD PRESENT A VERY REAL DANGER TO CARS FOLLOWING US. I LOOKED ONLINE AFTER WE RETURNED FROM THE SHOP, AND FOUND COMMENTS FROM HUNDREDS OF OTHER MARINER AND ESCAPE OWNERS THAT HAD EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM. MANY SAID THAT THEY HAD CONTACTED THEIR DEALERS TO SEE IF THIS PROBLEM WAS COVERED BY A RECALL. WHEN THEY DISCOVERED THAT IT WASN'T, A GREAT NUMBER OF THEM EITHER MADE THE REPAIR THEMSELVES, OR WENT TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, SINCE THE DEALERS WERE CHARGING UP TO $850 TO MAKE THIS REPAIR. SO, MANY OF THESE REPAIRS WEREN'T MADE BY DEALERS WHERE THEY COULD BE TRACKED FOR A POSSIBLE RECALL.
SWITCH FOR AC WONT BLOW OUT AIR. TOOK IT TO VALOLINE TO ADD FREON.. THEY SAID, IT WAS FULL.. COLD WORKED FOR 5 DAYS THEN AC STOPPED WORKING AT HOTEST TIME OF MONTH... TOOK VEHICLE BACK AND THEY STATED, IT WAS FULL STILL BUT ADDED MORE FREON TO MAKE ME HAPPY.. AFTER A FEW DAYS NO AC AND I TOOK TO A MECHANICS BUSINESS. THE OWNER AND 4 OTHERS STATED THAT THE BELT IS TURNING MAYBE THEY OVERFILLED IT.. TOLD ME TO TAKE IT BACK TO VALOLINE AND HAVE THEM TAKE OUT ALL FREON THEN PUT AMOUNT BACK IN BUT NOT TO FULL. I DID, WORKED FOR 2 DAYS NOW AGAIN NO AC. BLOWER WORKED BUT NO AC COMES OUT.. I CANT AFFORD ANYMORE VISITS. NOW AS OF YESTERDAY THE BLOWER WILL ONLY WORK ON NUMBER 4. 1 2 3 NOTHING COMES OUT. GAYLORD FORD FOUND NO RECALL BECAUSE THE CAR WAS BUILD AUGUST 2009 IN THE SAME PLANT AS OTHER VEHICLES WITH THE PROBLEM WITH THE THROTTLE SENSOR FOR POWERTRAIN. THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AND WOULD ONLY GO 30 MPH. CAR IS A 2010 MILAN HYBRID 133,000 MILES.

I HAVE BEEN ON THE PHONE WITH FORD. AN EXTREMELY MAD AND RUDE WOMAN DIDN'T OR COULDN'T ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS I HAD. SHE KEPT TELLING ME I GOT MY RECALL BE CAUSE THEY CHECKED MY COMPUTER SYSTEM BUT DIDN'T REPLACE THE RECALLED STEERING MODULE. THE WOMAN ALSO DIDN'T HANG UP SO I WAS UNABLE TO DO THE SURVEY AT THE END OF THE PHONE CALL. SOME PEOPLE ARE DISGUSTING THE WAY THEY TREAT OTHERS.

A MALFUNCTION OF THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING, I CANT STEER MY VEHICLE.IT IS DIFFICULT TO STEER AND CONTROL THE VEHICLE. I WAS DRIVING AND THE STEERING START WOBBLING AND MAKING NOISE VIBRATING AND THE STEERING GO REAL STIFF. I CALLED THE RECALL DEPARTMENT THEY TOLD ME IT WAS A RECALL ON THE TORQUE SENSOR OR PSCM JULY 2014 TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALER TO GET APPROVAL TO LET THEM KNOW , I DID THEY CHECKED IT OUT SAID IT WAS THE TORQUE SENSOR, CALLED FORD TO GET APPROVAL BECAUSE IT WAS ON THE RECALL LIST, WAS DENIED. I DON'T UNDERSTAND YOU SAID IF THIS PROBLEM SHOWS A HISTORY LOSS OF THE TORQUE SENSOR SIGNAL OR FAIL CODES RELATING TO THE PSCM WHEN I BROUGHT IN FOR THE RECALL REMEDY, THE AFFECTED COMPONENTS WILL BE REPLACED FREE OF CHARGE. YOU TOLD ME THE RECALL WAS JULY 2014 AND AT THAT TIME YOU RESET THE PSCM AND CLUSTER MODULE. THAT DIDNOT FIX THE PROBLEM ONLY PUT A BANDAID ON THE REAL PROBLEM. I DID NOT OWN MY VEHICLE IN 2014. THIS IS HAPPENING AGAIN. AFTER THE FIRST RECALL. ANOTHER RECALL. WHY WONT YOU FIX IT MY ARMS SHOULDER NECK AND HEAD ARE INJURED BECAUSE YOU WILL NOT FIX WHAT IS A PART THAT CONSISTANTLY BREAK DOWN OR MALFUNCTION THAT'S HAPPENING OVER AND OVER. REAR HATCH WINDOW HINGES CRACKED DUE TO THE METAL DETERIORATING CAUSING THE WINDOW TO SHIFT AND BECOME LOOSE AND SUBJECT TO FALLING AWAY FROM THE VEHICLE. ORIGINAL OWNER: THE VEHICLE WOULD WAS PARKED WITHOUT ISSUE YESTERDAY. BACKED IT UP THIS MORNING AND THERE WAS NO POWER STEERING. SHUT IT OFF AND TRIED AGAIN AND THERE WAS STILL NO POWER STEERING. ON THE THIRD ATTEMPT, THE POWER STEERING RETURNED AND I VERY CAUTIOUSLY DROVE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. THERE WERE NO ERROR MESSAGES DISPLAYED OR WARNINGS WHILE IT WAS OUT. (CHANGE OIL REMINDER WAS LIT). DEALERSHIP RAN DIAGNOSTICS AND TRIED TO RECREATE THE ISSUE WITHOUT PROBLEMS. THIS VEHICLE WAS BUILT IN THE KANSAS CITY PLANT DURING THE TIME OF THE RECALL FROM OCT 2014, BUT FOR SOME REASON, THE VIN IS NOT INCLUDED. ON FRIDAY THERE WAS A FUEL ODOR IN THE CABIN WAS SLIGHT AS I WAS DRIVING AROUND TOWN (DROPPING THE KIDS OFF AT SCHOOL) THE ODOR INCREASED. I LEFT IT PARKED FOR A DAY AND THE FOLLOWING THE DAY THE FUEL ODOR INCREASED TO THE POINT THAT I COULD NOT DRIVE IT AROUND ANYMORE. AS I WAS DRIVING 55 MPH ON A US ROUTE (NO OVERPASSES IN THE AREA), I HEARD WHAT SOUNDED LIKE A GUN SHOT AND THEN THE GLASS OF MY SUNROOF SHATTERING. THE INTERIOR SHADE WAS CLOSED SO I COULD NOT SEE THE DAMAGE IMMEDIATELY. WHEN I PULLED OFF THE ROAD THERE WAS A LARGE HOLE IN THE CENTER OF THE SUNROOF GLASS AND THE GLASS WAS RAISED UPWARDS AS THOUGH IT HAD BEEN IMPACTED FROM AN OBJECT THROWN FROM INSIDE THE VEHICLE.
