WHIL DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH ON WET PAVEMENT, THE LEFT REAR TIRE BLEW OUT AND WHEN I WAS ABLE TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, THE TIRE WAS SHREDDED OFF OF THE RIM. THIS MATCHES THE DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM INVOLVED IN THE CURRENT FIRESTONE RECALL. THE VEHICLE IS OWNED BY FORD MOTOR COMPANY. CONSUMER NOTICED VEHICLE'S REAR DOOR LOCKS JAMMED. PASSENGER UNABLE TO UNLOCK TO GET OUT. DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND REPLACED LOCKS. MR *TT
VEHICLE EXPERIENCED A RIGHT REAR BLOWOUT(TIRE SIZE P235/75R15/DOT # UNAVAILABLE) WHILE TRAVELING AT 45 MPH IN A 2000 MERCURY MOUNTAINEER, TIRE WAS THE ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT, NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. REPLACEMENT WAS MADE AT DEALER, AND TIRE NOT AVAILABLE FOR ANALYSIS. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *AK FIRESTONE ATX P235/75/R15 *MW
THE VEHICLE WAS SOLD WITH THE WRONG SIZE TIRES ON THE VEHICLE, WHICH WAS THE POSSIBLE CAUSED OF PROBLEMS WITH THE SPEEDOMETER READINGS. *MJS
FIRESTONE WILDERNESS AT TIRES (P235/75R15) EXPERIENCED VIBRATIONS WHILE DRIVING, THE CONSUMER HEARD A THUD WHILE DRIVING 45MPH-50MPH, THE CONSUMER REPLACED THE TIRES BECAUSE FIRESTONE AND FORD WOULD NOT HELP . *SLC
2000 MERCURY MOUNTAINEER WITH A RECALL FOR SPEED CONTROL. CONSUMER STATED THAT SHE RECEIVED THE RECALL IN AUGUST OF 2007 AND THE VEHICLE HAS YET TO BE REPAIRED. *KB THE DEALER DISCONNECTED THE CRUISE CONTROL. *JB
WHEN COMING TO A STOP ENGINE REVS , AND PUSHES FORWARD THROUGH INTERSECTIONS. DEALER CAN'T FIND CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. *AK

LOCAL NEWS MEDIA REPORTED PROBLEMS WITH THIS TIRE. I'VE BEEN UNABLE TO REACH FIRESTONE DIST. HDQTS AND WAS PUT ON HOLD TWICE WITH NHTSA WITH NO ANSWER. LOCAL TIRE DEALER DIDN'T SATISFY QUESTION ABOUT INSPECTION. WORRIED ABOUT PROBLEMS IN THE FUTURE. NO MENTIONED SAFETY DEFECT, WANTS . CONSUMER COMPLAINING ABOUT A DESIGN OF INTERIOR EQUIPMENT, THE CUP HOLDER IS TOO SHALLOW AND THE VEHICLE DOES NOT CONTAIN ASHTRAYS, THESE DESIGN ISSUES COULD BE HAZARDOUS. *ET
ALTHOUGH I DO NOT HAVE THE RECALLED FIRESTONE TIRES ON MY VEHICLE, I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING IT WITH NON-RECALLED FIRESTONE TIRES. I HAVE TRIED TALKING TO FORD, MY SELLING DEALER AND FIRESTONE DEALERS TO RECEIVE CREDIT FOR MY TIRES TOWARDS THE PURCHASE OF 5 GOODYEAR REPLACEMENTS. I FEEL THAT FORD MADE THE DECISION TO PUT FIRESTONE TIRES ON MY VEHICLE AT THE FACTORY AND SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE CREDIT TOWARDS THE PURCHASE OF A SAFER TIRE. THIS WHOLE RECALL IS A MESS AND IS CONFUSING, I BELIEVE, ON PURPOSE. THE ONLY THING I HEAR IS HOW CONSUMERS WERE MIS-USING THE TIRES. HOW CAN YOU MISUSE A TIRE ON AN SUV? THE AUTOMAKERS SHOW THEM DRIVING ACROSS THE DESERT, UP MOUNTAINS AND THROUGH RIVERS.
THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED CONTINUED PROBLEMS WITH EXTREME VIBRATION WHILE TRAVELING AT HIGH SPEEDS, THE TIRES WERE FIRESTONE AND NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL, HOWEVER THE CONSUMER REPLACED ALL TIRES AND THE VEHICLE IS NOT EXPERIENCING VIBRATION PROBLEMS. *MJS
TIRE IS INCLUDED IN RECALL 00T005 BUT DEALER DOESN'T HAVE ANY TIRES TO REPLACE THEM WITH(FIRESTONE WILDERNESS AT P235/75R15 #VD). NLM
THESE TIRES ARE BRAND NEW ON A BRAND NEW 2000 MOUNTAINEER. THEY DID NOT FAIL IN ANY MANNER (I HAD TO PUT NUMBERS IN THE "FAILURE" FIELD OR THE FORM WOULD NOT ACCEPT THE REPORT)THERE WERE NO FAILURES WHATSOEVER. I AM ONLY CONCERNED THAT THEY MAY BE RECALLED DUE TO ALL THE FATALS INVOLVING THESE TIRES(DOT # ON INSIDE OF TIRES IS 8XHL) AND ALL THE PUBLICITY. THE DEALER ADVISES THESE TIRES ARE NOT PART OF THE RECALL BUT I WOULD JUST LIKE CONFIRMATION FROM NHTSA THAT THESE PARTICULAR TIRES ARE SAFE TO DRIVE AT ALL SPEEDS. I AM EMPLOYED BY THE NJ DIVISION OF HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY AND WE RECIEVE OUR FUNDS DIRECTLY FROM NHTSA REGION 2 IN WHITE PLAINS, NY. IT IS DISAPPOINTING THAT THE RECALL OF TIRES IS NOT BROADENED TO ENCOMPASS ALL MANUFACTURER CODES VERSUS JUST THE DECATUR PLANT. WITHOUT DEFINITIVE REPORTS THAT ONLY THE DECATUR PLANT CODE IS 100% RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SHREDDING TIRES, NO ONE WITH THESE TIRES CAN FEEL SAFE ON THE ROAD. WHILE DRIVING AT HIGH SPEED OR WHEN WIND IS AT HIGH SPEED VEHICLE BECOMES ERRATIC, SWAYING SIDE TO SIDE OUT OF CONTROL. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER. BUT, PROBLEM NOT REMEDIED AS OF YET. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK
DISINTEGRATION OF BRAKES AND ROTORS AT 2,500 MILES, THEY WERE WOREN DOWN TO THE METAL. FIRST DEALER STATED THAT ROTORS WERE DEFECTIVE, BUT ABRUPTLY CHANGED AND SAID IT WAS REGULAR WEAR AND TEAR. VEHICLE CURRENTLY PARKED DUE TO PROBLEM NOT BEING RECTIFIED AND PERSISTING. PLEASE DESCRIBE DETAILS. *AK
WHILE DRIVING ON A DIRT ROAD AT 15 MPH, VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOST POWER STEERING. DEALERSHIP INDICATED THAT THIS WAS CAUSED BY A BOLT IN THE STEERING SHAFT COMING LOOSE AND FALLING OFF. *AK
THE POWER SEAT ADJUSTER BROKE, WHICH CAUSED THE SEAT TO TILT BACKWARDS. *JB
THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR RECALL 03504 RELATED TO REPAIRS OF THE DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BOLT. THE DEALER PROMISED TO HAVE VEHICLE FOR ONLY A COUPLE OF HOURS, HOWEVER THE VEHICLE REMAINED AT DEALER FOR ONE WEEK. *AK *NLM
NO POWER SWITCH, WIPERS, WINDOWS, AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCKS, ETC... *PH RECALL#00V072000. THE CONSUMER COVERED THE COST OF THE WIPER MOTOR MODULE. *SC
