I HAD A RECALL NOTICE BY NHTSA ABOUT 3 MONTHS AGO. I HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH THE DEALERSHIP, JIM MARSH OF NEVADA AND THEY HAVE BEEN IN TOUCH WITH MITSUBITSHI WHO CLAIMS THEY HAVE NO REPLACEMENT PARTS FOR THIS RECALL PROBLEM.WHAT AM I SUPPOSE TO DO NOW WHEN I CANNOT DRIVE THE CAR IF IT IS RAINING. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER SPORT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 45 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE FAILED TO YIELD. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO THE REAR PASSENGER'S SIDE OF THE VEHICLE AND THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE DRIVER AND FRONT PASSENGER SUSTAINED MINOR BRUISES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOWING YARD BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,000.

-ELECTRIC LOCK BUTTON DID NOT RESPOND. -UNLOCK BUTTON ON KEY DID NOT RESPOND. -ON PUSHING START BUTTON, CONSOLE CYCLED THROUGH EVERY WARNING AVAILABLE, IN THIS ORDER: 'CLOSE FUEL CAP LID', 'ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SERVICE REQUIRED', 'BRAKE SYSTEM SERVICE REQUIRED' , 'ACC SERVICE REQUIRED', 'RBS SERVICE REQUIRED', 'CLOSE HOOD', 'ENGINE OVERHEATING STOP SAFELY', 'LIMITED DRIVING MODE', 'ASC SYSTEM SERVICE REQUIRED', '4WD SYSTEM SERVICE REQUIRED', 'LDW SYSTEM SERVICE REQUIRED 'EV SYSTEM SERVICE REQUIRED STOP SAFELY THE POWER WOULD NOT TURN OFF UNTIL START\STOP BUTTON WAS DEPRESSED FOR SEVERAL SECONDS. WE PURCHASE THIS VEHICLE FROM LITTLE JOE'S MITSUBISHI AT 1601 S MILITARY HWY, CHESAPEAKE, VA 23320 ON MAY 20, 2016 AS A PRE OWNED VEHICLE. TWO WEEKS AFTER TAKING POSSESSION OF THE VEHICLE ONE DAY WHEN IT WAS RAINING, THE WIPERS WOULD STOP WITH THE WIPER BLADES STRAIGHT UP AND DOWN AND STAY THERE TILL L HIT THE WIPER HANDLE ON THE STEERING WHEEL ON THE RIGHT SIDE, L CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND SPOKE TO CHRIS BLAIR TJE SALES REPRESENTATIVE AND ADVISED HIM OF THIS THE SAME DAY IT HAPPENED, HE TOL ME HE WOULD TRANSFER ME TO SERVICE, SPOKE TO A MANAGER NAME WAS NICOLE IN SERVICE AND TOLD HER THE PROBLEM, SHE TOLD ME TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN, TOLD HER L WOULD WHEN L RETURNED BACK TO THE STATE AS L WAS OUT OF STATE AS THIS WIPER SITUATION HAPPENED TO ME ON THE WAY TO THE AIRPORT IN MY AREA. I SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT FOR FRIDAY JUNE 17,2016 AND THEY HAD A MECHANIC CHECK IT AND THIS IS WHAT THEY SAID WAS POSSIBLE WRONG, SEE ATTACHED. THEY TOLD ME L WOULD HAVE TO PAY HALF OF $632 WHICH WAS $316 AND L TOLD THEM THEY NEEDED TO REPLACE THIS AS IT WAS A SAFETY ISSUE, AND GOD FORBID IF THEY STOPPED WORKING WHILE L WAS DRIVING WHEN IT WAS RAINING OR SNOWING OR ANY WET CONDITION L COULD BE POTENTIALLY INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT AS L WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO SEE WHERE L AM GOING, THE SERVICE MANAGER NICOLE WHO WAS RUDE SAID IT WAS WORKING WHEN WE HAD THE VEHICLE, L TOLD HER L DID NOT BREAK IT. I TOLD HER THIS IS A SAFETY RELATED DRIVING ISSUE, SHE DID NOT WANT TO HEAR ABOUT IT. I ASKED FOR THE COPY OF THE SITUATION IN RELATION TO THE WIPER ISSUE AND TOLD HER L WOULD FILE A COMPLAINT. I AM ASKING THEY REPLACE THIS SAFETY RELATED DRIVING ISSUE AT THERE EXPENSE 100%, SINCE MAY 20, 2016 TILL JUNE 17, 2016 L HAVE ONLY PUT 1623 MILES ON THE VEHICLE SINCE L TOOK OWNERSHIP. THE FINANCE MANAGER ON MAY 20,2016 WHEN ASKED IF THE FLUIDS HAD BEEN CHANGED STATED YES, SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAYS ONLY OIL WAS.
OVER NIGHT, MY BATTERY DIED. WHEN I TRIED TO TURN THE CAR ON, THE WINDSHIELD WHISPERS WOULD GO CRAZY, RADIO WOULD TURN ON, BUT NOT THE CAR. PURCHASED A NEW BATTERY, CAR IS ONLY 3 YRS OLD. THE NEW BATTERY IS BEING DRAINED NOW. WHEN THE CAR IS OFF, THE RADIO TURNS ON AND OFF BY ITSELF, THE FOG LIGHTS STROBE, AND THERE IS A BEEPING NOISE. THE DEALERSHIP TEASED EVERYTHING AND FOUND THAT IT IS THE ECU (ELECTRICAL CONTROL UNIT) WHICH IS ON RECALL FOR MY MAKE, YEAR, AND MODEL, BUT NOT FOR MY CAR BASED OFF THE VIN. IT IS EXACTLY WHAT WAS GOING WRONG IN OTHER VEHICLES EXACTLY MY YEAR, MAKE, AND MODEL, BUT NOT ACCORDING TO MY VIN #.
TAILGATE IS RUSTING NEAR THE LIFT GATE HANDLE AND ALSO BOTH SIDES OF THE UPPER PART NEAR THE GLASS WHERE THE TAILGATE MEETS THE SPOILER. I HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH MITSUBISHI THEY WILL NOT HONOR ANY RUST ISSUES UNLESS I AM ABLE TO POKE A HOLE THROUGH THE AFFECTED AREAS. MEANWHILE THE CAR IS CLEARLY RUSTING AND THE PLASTIC HANDLE WHICH IS AROUND THE RUSTED AREA ON THE TAILGATE IS COMING LOOSE DUE TO THE RUST. THERE HAVE BEEN OTHER COMPLAINTS ONLINE OF OTHER PEOPLE WITH THE EXACT SAME RUST ISSUE.
WHEN I STARTED THE CAR IN PARK, AND ESPECIALLY WHEN I PUSHED THE GAS PEDAL, THERE WAS A NOISE IN THE ENGINE THAT KEEP UP WHILE DRIVING AND WHEN IN PARK WHILE THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING. THE SOUND WAS LIKE WHEN A CAR HAS LOW OIL IN THE STEERING WHEEL BUT I ASKED A NEIGHBOR AND HE SAYS THESE CARS DON'T USE OIL FOR THE STEERING WHEEL THAT THE NOISE WAS MOST LIKELY THE ALTERNATOR. AND IT HAS BEING GETTING LOUDER. I AM AFRAID THAT THE CAR MAY BREAK DOWN. ALSO IN THE FIRST MONTH OF BUYING THE CAR I NOTICED THE FRONT TRAIN SEEMED LOOSE BUT I WAS TOLD NOTHING WAS WRONG. IS THERE ANY RECALL FOR THIS? . ALSO I LOOKED UP THE RECALLS FOR MY MODEL AND YEAR OF CAR AND OF ALL THE ONES THAT SHOW UP I HAVE RECEIVED ONLY ONE RECALL AND IT WAS FOR A TORCH IN THE SEAT BELT FOR FRONT PASSENGER SIDE I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY OF THE OTHERS. I WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT I HAVE NOT BEEN PASSED UP IN THESE RECALLS SINCE 2013 TO THIS DATE JAN 2015 AND THAT IT BE TOO LATE TO REQUEST THE REPAIRS. *TR
MY AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, THE SEAT BELT DID NOT ENGAGE. THEREFORE I STRUCK THE STEERING WHEEL TWICE, AND WHIPPED MY NECK. *TR
BETWEEN APRIL AND MAY 2014 THIS 2013 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER HAS BEEN HAVING DIFFICULTY IN STARTING, AT ONE POINT IT WOULD NOT START AT ALL. SOME BELTS (I DON'T KNOW WHICH) SQUEAK EVERY SO OFTEN. ON 03 JULY 2014 THE DEALER WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED AND HAS SINCE BEEN RECEIVING IT'S SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE, INDICATED THAT THE ALTERNATOR HAS TO BE REPLACED AND THAT THEY HAD NONE IN STOCK. I WAS TOLD TO CALL BACK IN A WEEK. I HAVE CALLED EVERY WEEK SINCE THEN AND I AM ALWAYS TOLD IT IS IN BACK ORDER, THAT THERE ARE MANY OF THE SAME VEHICLES WAITING FOR THIS PART. SEEMS TO ME THAT THIS IS INDICATIVE OF A PROBLEM. IT HAS BEEN 55 DAYS SINCE THEY FINALLY DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AND CANNOT KEEP A ALTERNATOR FOR MY VEHICLE IN STOCK LONG ENOUGH TO REPLACE THE FAULTY ONE IN MY VEHICLE. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN SEVERAL TIMES TO THE DEALER BUT THE FAILURE WAS UNDETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 5,600.
3RD ROW SEAT BROKE THE FABRIC HAS GIVEN AWAY THERE IS NO SUPPORT OR ANY TYPE OF CUSHION FOR YOUR BUTT. ALL THERE IS , IS THE METAL FRAME STRUCTURE AND WHEN YOU FOLD THE SEAT BACK TO STORE IT, IT WONT STAY DOWN, DOESN'T LATCH SO WHEN YOUR DRIVING ANY BUMP YOU HIT OR ON THE FREEWAY THE SEAT RATTLES AND BOUNCES UP AND DOWN, I FEEL THIS IS A BIG SAFETY HAZARD, WE WILL NOT LET OUR KIDS SIT BACK THERE ANYMORE, ALSO IT HURTS THEM TO SIT ON THAT SEAT, WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP ON 5-2-2013 AND THEY TOLD US MITSUBISHI CONSIDERS IT TO BE TRIM AND WONT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT, AS FAR AS THE LATCH TO HOLD THE SEAT DOWN WHEN IT IS FOLDED THEY SAID THAT'S THE WAY IT IS, IT WAS NEVER LIKE THAT UNTIL THE DAY MY 15 YR OLD DAUGHTER SAT BACK THERE AND THE FABRIC TORE UNDERNEATH AND SHE SAID THE SEAT DIDN'T FEEL RIGHT, WHEN I LOOKED AT IT AND TRIED TO FOLD IT BACK DOWN THE SEAT FELT SLOPPY LIKE SOMETHING BROKE MECHANICAL WISE, IM UPSET CAUSE THAT'S WHY WE BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE IT HAS THREE ROWS OF SEATS, MITSUBISHI DEALERSHIP SAID ITS A TEMPORARY SEAT NOT TO BE USED ALL THE TIME. THERE IS NOTHING THAT STATS ITS A TEMPORARY SEAT OR A WEIGHT LIMIT ANYWHERE ON THE VEHICLE OR IN THE VEHICLES MANUAL.....PLEASE HELP *TR
I NOTICED OIL DRIPPING FROM UNDERNEATH THE MOTOR AND TRANSMISSION TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY SAID IT WAS TO FULL OF OIL, TOOK VEHICLE BACK HOME CONTINUED TO LEAK, TOOK VEHICLE BACK AGAIN TO DEALERSHIP FOR SAME LEAK THEY SAID IT WAS THE CVT FILTER SO THEY REPLACED IT. TOOK VEHICLE HOME PARKED IT IN GARAGE WHEN I WOKE UP NEXT DAY TO CHECK ON IT THERE WAS A PUDDLE OF OIL UNDER THE MOTOR AND TRANSMISSION, HAD TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED BACK TO DEALERSHIP AND NOW THEY ARE SAYING THE SEAL BETWEEN THE MOTOR AND TRANS. IS BAD, THEN THEY SAID THAT WASN'T IT THAT THE TRANSMISSION'S MOLD IS DEFECTIVE AND THEY HAVE TO ORDER A NEW TRANSMISSION FROM MITSUBISHI IN JAPAN, I HAVEN'T HAD THE VEHICLE NOW FOR ALMOST 3 WEEKS AND THEY TOLD ME IT WOULD BE ANOTHER 2 WEEKS. *TR
I HAD OWNED MY OUTLANDER FOR JUST OVER A WEEK AND WAS ATTEMPTING A NORMAL LEFT HAND TURN. MY LONG-SLEEVE, CUFFED SHIRT BECAME CAUGHT ON THE LOWER PORTION OF THE RIGHT PADDLE SHIFTER. AS I ATTEMPTED TO STRAIGHTEN THE CAR FROM THE TURN, THE WHEEL TURNED AND PULLED MY STUCK RIGHT ARM INTO AN OPENING ON THE STEERING WHEEL.CONSEQUENTLY, MY VEHICLE CONTINUED TURNING INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC AS I BOTH TRIED TO STOP AND FREE MY ARM. LUCKILY, APPROACHING TRAFFIC SAW MY CAR IN ENOUGH TIME TO AVOID HITTING ME. I WAS NOT ABLE TO FREE MY HAND UNTIL I BROUGHT THE CAR TO A STOP AND REPOSITIONED THE STEERING WHEEL. THE PADDLE SHIFTERS ON THIS CAR ARE EACH OVER 4" LONG AND AWKWARDLY PLACED ON THE STEERING COLUMN. CLOTHING OR JEWELRY CAN EASILY BECOME ENTANGLED IN THE MECHANISM. I BELIEVE MY SAFETY AND THE POTENTIAL SAFETY OF OTHER OUTLANDER OWNERS IS IN QUESTION. I HAVE ASKED THE COMPANY TO REMOVE THEM FROM MY CAR TO WHICH MITSUBISHI CORPORATE REPLIED "WE ARE UNABLE TO PROVIDE ANY PROCEDURES OR RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE REMOVAL OF THE PADDLE SHIFTERS." MY DEALERSHIPS HANDS ARE TIED WITH MITSUBISHI HEADQUARTERS POSITION. I FEEL THAT THE COMPANY IS MAKING LIGHT OF MY CONCERN AND HAS NO INTEREST IN ACKNOWLEDGING OR SOLVING THIS PROBLEM. *TR
ARRIVED HOME AFTER PURCHASE AROUND 8PM. NOTICED WATER CONDENSATION INSIDE DRIVER SIDE HEADLIGHT. BROUGHT BACK TO DEALER TWICE. FIRST TIME BACK NO ANSWERS, SECOND TIME BACK THEY SAY "IT IS DUE TO THE CAR SITTING IN THE PARKING LOT FOR A WHILE, NO REPAIRED NEEDED" DUE TO THE COLD TEMPERATURE OUTSIDE AND THE HOT TEMPERATURE INSIDE THE HEADLAMP THE WATER CONDENSATION BEGINS TO CLOULD THE VIEW OF ACTUAL LIGHT THUS DECREASING VISIBILITY ON THE DRIVER SIDE DUE TO THE BLOCKED LIGHT. BASICALLY DRIVING WITH ONE HEADLIGHT~ MUST BE A FAULTY SEALED HEADLAMP ENCLOSURE THAT NEEDS TO BE RESEALED,RECALLED, OR JUST REPLACED. *TR
UNLESS WE ARE WITHIN 12 INCHES OF THE CAR THE PANIC BUTTON DOES NOT WORK, THIS IS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM, HOWEVER MOST OF THE TIME IT DOES NOT WORK. WE HAVE MADE THIS COMPLAINT ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS AND HAD ARBITRATION AND MITSUBISHI WILL NOT RECOGNIZE THE PROBLEM. I WAS IN A PUBLIC PARKING GARAGE AND I THOUGHT I WAS BEING FOLLOWED AND THE PANIC BUTTON DID NOT WORK (FORTUNATELY I WAS NOT BEING FOLLOWED).
