Driving minimum speed of 65mph and upwards the hood is flexing and fluttering. It appears as if the hood will become unlatched at any moment. Windy conditions make it worse. It is incredibly scary to drive not knowing if the hood will suddenly become unlatched
While driving, my moonroof window exploded. It was not struck by debris. I stopped to observe the damage and the glass was bubbled up and appeared as if it were pushed up. I took photos of the damage.
Mechanics said when they replaced the engine coolant an air bubble entered the line and caused the module to fail. The car overheated when I got on the interstate 5 minutes after leaving the dealership.
Since May 2023, I've been to two different dealerships with the same issue. It started with a whistling sound form air vents, buring smell, increased has consumption, loss of power going up hill, gas smell inside cabin, no air, loud noise from right side of car under hood, and engine malfunction warning. Finally, 12/12/23 the car, without warning, instantly stalled, shut-off in traffic. Several vehicles behind me had to swerve to avoid rear end collision at it was it happened in front of a school with heavy traffic! The car would not restart and had to be towed to dealership. I contacted Mitsubishi corporate office in Aug/Sept, and was assigned Bernedette, who, constantly confused and incoherent, dismissed my complaints as dealerships wouldn't fix bc Mitsubishi wouldn't reimburse. She stated if there was no code, the car could NOT be fixed! In total, both dealerships have had my car for 30 days or more. Currently, Edwards Mitsubishi, has had my car since 12/11 as back ordered part was hard to obtain. I want to go to mediation for Lemon Law in IA, as this car poses a serious threat to myself and other drivers. Mitsubishi is negligent and duplicitous by issuing erroneous and loose guidelines regarding repairs/recalls when vehicles owners present with problems known to Mitsubishi, especially 2022 Outlanders having fuel pump issues. I still can not get any assistance on the shaking hood!!!!
I had a wreck 12/05/2023 the rear ended a commercial truck it didn’t give me any indication ahead it didn’t not slow my vehicle down or brake I just slammed right into the vehicle 23 feet in front with no warning so now the truck is saying crash malfunction it just abs and lane change in dictation nothing
The warning light starts flashing to alert me it is not active, this happened periodically but the dealer was unable to see it happen. Saw it happening so I went to take it to the dealer but didn’t notice the car in front of me due to the flashing light taking my attention and hit the car in front of me.
I have a 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander that I purchased July 26, 2023, from Ciocca Subaru of Philadelphia with a 100,000 mile/24-Month Dealership Warranty, an Extended Warranty in addition to the Manufacturer's Warranty, Ciocca Dealership Promise Warranty, Tire Warranty , Service, and Collision Care Program Warranties. The control arm broke as I was coasting in the parking lot of the supermarket on Wednesday, November 22nd, right before Thanksgiving. I was told on Friday by the Ciocca Subaru Dealer of purchase that the repairs had to be completed at a Mitsubishi Dealer, and told that it would not be covered in any of the warranties. Previous Mitsubishi Outlander's have had faulty/recalled control arms also. The vehicle was towed to Montgomeryville Mitsubishi at 1011 Bethlehem Pike, Montgomeryville, PA18936. To date, no one has looked at or egun repair and they refuse to provide a loaner vehicle. In the 4 months that I have had the vehicle, it seems that the fuel system is faulty also. The car will cut off when the vehicle shows 60 miles of gas remaining in the vehicle, which the vehicle is not on E (Empty).
Ok button on steering wheel got stuck in while driving and it turns off all anti collision systems.
I purchased a brand new 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander on March 3rd 2022, and 25k miles in I am experiencing rear braking issues. I took my Outlander in to the local dealership at 247 El Cajon, CA 92020 on 9/6/22 for an inspection, because my vehicle was making very loud screeching noise every time the vehicle went into reverse (without even touching on the brakes). Initially I thought something was wrong with the wheels, because the noise was happening without having to press on the brakes. Upon inspection, I was told that my rear brakes were at 2mm and needed to be replaced, along with resurfaced rotors. My front brakes are good, but my rear brakes have worn down, and causing a screeching noise. According to the service manager at the dealership, the noise is not exactly the brakes itself, it is a sensor pin that begins to scratch along the rotors once the brake pads start to ware down and needing to be replaced. This vehicle has never been driven out of state! This vehicle is driven in town taking my kids to and from school, and for pleasure and errands. I am not a heavy driver or braker. There is absolutely no reason why a brand new vehicle is already needing rear brakes at only 25k miles. I have done some research both online and by calling around to a few different Mitsubishi dealerships, and I spoke to Joseph in the service department at Victorville Mitsubishi; I told him my issue, he asked how many miles I had and he quote on quote told me, "You are one of the lucky ones, because customers have been coming in at 15k miles needing to replace their rear brakes." This is pure insanity, 15k-25k rear brakes need replacing? This is NOT normal wear and tear; this is absolutely a manufacturer defect that needs serious attention and a recall.
This vehicle has been deteriorating since around the 10-15k miles. One of the recalls should have fixed something that was happening to my heater /ac not turning on. I would turn on the vehicle and the fan wouldn't turn on. I had turn off and restart the vehicle. this has happened multiple times. The display panel will turn off randomly while driving. the main problem is my car drifts to side. really bad. I feel really unsafe in it. i had to pay outside company to see what it was and have them continue to align my tires because it gets so shaky. i can't even attach a hitch to this. the car shifts to the sides really bad, even over the smallest bumps at low mileage. someone from one of the dealerships told me there was nothing wrong with my tires (i asked them to check it when I went for a recall). i was told the vehicle feels different b/c mitsubishi motor is now made by nissan. he thought i was dumb or something. i haven't been able to get this fixed b/c idk what to do. im not hte car expert. they are. i have to constantly align the wheels but i've pretty much exhausted how many times I can get them aligned. now apparently my shocks are bad? and mitsubishi won't sell the shocks to an outside auto repair shop.
While driving the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander at highway speeds the front hood flutters very badly. Causing myself stress that the hood will fly open causing a very concerning safety problem or accident.
The gas meter to read how much gas you have isn’t reading properly. When the car gets down to 60 miles to e the entire car shuts off.
2022 Mitsubishi Outlander under 34000 miles. Front wheel bearings gave out. Mitsubishi services stated they are defective and Nissan parts. They replaced them under warranty. All 4 manufacture tires are worn out at 34000 miles. Had another computer issue. ABS Warning came on while driving. Took took Mitsubishi service, they stated a module had to be exchanged. Again car is fairly new. Under 34000 miles.
The contact owns a 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander. The contact stated that while driving approximately 70 MPH, the vehicle independently slowed without driver input. The hood flutters and bounces up and down the entire time I'm driving making me too anxious to drive the car at all. I just bought the car used with 21,000 miles yesterday and noticed it after leaving the dealership to drive home. I have an appt for weatherstripping on 7/24.
Hood flutters badly when passing oncoming traffic. Specifically trucks. Sometimes it blows up about an inch or more and I fear it will come loose and open eventually.
Unexpected Collision Warning and Emergency Braking Application On May 8, 2023 at approximately 5:55pm local time. Traveling southbound on Beneva Road in Sarasota FL at 35 MPH. Closest intersection Parkland Avenue. Two lane southbound configuration. Subject vehicle was in the rightmost lane with a pickup truck in the left southbound lane. There was also a bicycle on the sidewalk to the west of the subject vehicle. All of the sudden the collision warning alerted and the subject vehicle performed an emergency braking application. Vehicle slowed to about 10 MPH before the emergency braking was released and driver was able to recover car operation.

This letter is about a recent use car purchase, the car is a 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander. I purchase the car on 19 April 2023 at Mitsubishi Dealer located in Commerce California, I paid cash. The sale went OK until I ask for a second key-fob as my wife will be the second driver. I was told they didn't have a second key-fob and one would not be supplied because the vehicle is sold as is. I was not pleased about this as I paid more than $38609.00 cash for the vehicle. I pushed back, the dealer would not relent. I purchased a key-fob at Mitsubishi Redondo Beach California, I was told that the key-fob would have to be paired to the vehicle and that would be billable. I was really angry when told this, but had it be done anyway. My feeling was I paid a lot of money cash and I was being treated like my money didn't mean anything now that they have it. I spend four hours at Mitsubishi Redondo, I was told that that could not pair the key-fob because they didn't have the updated software. I was told to go back to Mitsubishi Commerce and have it done there. I return Mitsubishi Dealer located in Commerce California to have the key-fob paired. I spent more than four hours waiting for the repair. I was told that the newly purchase key-fob was defective, and to return the original dealer for replacement. I went back to Mitsubishi Redondo Beach California for replacement key. I was told that it would take about a week. I waited two weeks and never got a response, I called the dealer to get an update, I was told the key had arrived. I asked why I was not informed, I got a runaround about being busy. This the typical response I got when trying to communicate with Mitsubishi. They started the repair three hour later I was told that it couldn't be done because they didn't have the latest software. I ask when would it be available, I was told it could be tomorrow or the next day or next week. They said they would keep me updated. They never call with an update.
The dealer and corporation will not do repair/service to make the key-fob starter functional so the vehicle can be unlocked and the engine started. The vehicle is unusable making it a safety hazard The problem has been confirmed by the dealer. The component has been inspected and worked on by the dealer. No warning lamps or messages, the problem appeared when starting the engine.

Nothing but issues with the safety of this vehicle since I purchased it. Hood flutters while driving. Backup camera stops working. Audio stops working. Front end collision sensors constantly say they're blocked and can't function even when the car is clean amd its sunny outside. The dealership says they can't ever reproduce any of the issues when I take it in. They did replace the hood but it still seems to flutter a bit when driving above 50 mph. All 4 tires have severe edgewear and the vehicle doesn't even have 17000 miles on it. I have had nothing but issue after issue with this vehicle since purchasing it in May of 2022.

The hood shake very bad when you get up to about 60mph. It scares me because I feel like it may come unlatched. I’ve complained to the dealers everyone I go in for maintenance. Anyone I know who has one of these vehicles have the same issue

Rear view camera goes dark while backing up.
I CAN NOT EXPRESS HOW DISAPPOINTED I AM WITH THIS CAR. You cannot use the review camera as the screen goes black or freezes. You cannot put the visor down as you will not be able to see out the windshield. If you go to push the gas the car stutters and sometimes shuts off completely. I bought my car brand new with 200 miles on it and after 6 months of driving it they told me my tires needed to be replaced because they were dangerous. After taking it into the dealership several times I was told that's just how the car is. The first chance I get I am trading this car and getting something else, and I will never purchase from them again. They have NO PRIDE in their cars at all and it will end up getting someone killed.
Traveling at speeds over 50mph or heading into a strong headwind the hood bounces and looks like it will fly open at anytime. Took it do the dealer who were unable to fix it
Hit a deer doing 70mph. 2022 Outlander was totaled. No airbags deployed.
My airbag light has been on for the past 4 days indicating a problem with the system. I am bringing my car in tomorrow to be serviced, but this car is ridiculous. This is now the 4th time that this car has been in the shop since February and needs to be investigated. This vehicle is NOT safe.

The contact stated that brake fluid was also added. The vehicle was repaired but experienced failure a second time. The contact took the vehicle back to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the front passenger’s side caliper needed to be replaced and brake fluid added. The contact took the vehicle back to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the ABS hydraulic control unit to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 1,892.
Received recall for infotainment. A-IVD screen may appear blank while in reverse. I did not have a problem with A-IVD screen in reverse going blank. But, after doing recall, now my screen goes out for about 3sec. ( Periodically not all time). Would advise if no problem with A-IVD don’t do recall!!! Now after contacting Mitsubishi they are aware of this happening to units with no problem. Ask to return to original software was told they will get back, well haven’t heard a thing!
The contact owns a 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander. The contact stated that on multiple occasions while driving at undisclosed speeds, the gears shifted intermittently and the vehicle stalled without warning. While backing out of my driveway, the rearview camera did not function properly and there was a collision with a dumpster in the neighbor's driveway. This resulted in the shattering of the back glass and the reordering of the entire back lift gate of the vehicle.
Engine malfunctions. powered reduced when trying to turn from a dead stop. Flutters. Doesn't accelerate. Just sounds like its grinding. Plus premature brake wear.
Back brakes completely worn out, issue with electronic parking brake;. Front brakes have over 90% of pad remaining. Update for mechanics scanner not available in order to put vehicle into service mode for replacement of pads, pads not available to purchase
During reverse, the infotainment screen would go black for about 1 to 2 seconds so I won't be able to see the rear of the vehicle. Vehicle never had this problem prior to being updated by the dealer. The dealer was never able to fix this issue despite being brought to their attention 3 times. They were going to inform the manufacturer but appears it was never done. I have contacted Mitsubishi customer service and they never called me or attempted to address the issue.
The passenger side mirror will not tilt down when in reverse. The side orange button is on reflecting the right passenger mirror is selected when in reverse but still does not tilt down. The back up camera is also blacking out after the recall for such. I was not experiencing issues with the back up camera before the recall.
Vehicle has 12,000 miles. I was driving about to take trip and got a warning "engine malfunction power reduced service now. Got to dealership, they think its a software issue. Seriously scared me and it could be software. Awaiting dealership to confirm. Visibility with visors down is extremely limited. Can't drive with visors.
I purchased this vehicle in March, 2022. As of January 23, 2023, this vehicle has 15,700 miles. I first noticed a problem approximately four months ago. Whenever I go over a dirt road, it feels like the back end of my vehicle is flailing out of control, as if there is nothing to hold it to the road. Because I very rarely travel a dirt road, I just figured this is how this vehicle handles, and I will just need to get used to it. Then I noticed when I would hit certain bumps or uneven spots in the road, I would rock back and forth. Again, just figured it was something I would have to get used to. I had already noticed that it hydroplaned worse than any vehicle I had ever driven, but blamed it on the type of tire which it had, and became hyper aware of any water on the roads. Even the tiniest puddle. Then winter arrived!!!! I am absolutely terrified of this vehicle on any kind of snow covered road, even if the road is barely dusted with snow. I constantly feel like I am going out of control. Whenever I have to cross a bridge in freezing weather, it literally feels as if I am actually sliding on ice the entire way across, no matter how short the bridge is. Driving in snow almost feels like you are trying to drive with a flat tire. You can not drive this car over 40mph on any road condition other than dry. In every instance I have mentioned, I feel like I have control over the steering and front tires, but nothing at all behind the front seats. Just recently, on January 22,2022, I noticed my one back tire is completely bald, and the other rear tire is not much better. I had never really looked at the tires, because, why would I on a nine months old vehicle with 15,000 miles?? I immediately, the next day took it to my Mitsubishi dealer. We were there for an hour and a half. They could find nothing. I was shocked when I looked closer at my paper work after getting home. It stated right on there that excessive wear on the rr tire has been a common issue on these vehicles.
The hood of the vehicle flutters when the car reaches 65 mph.
Following a car they stopped all of a sudden collision warning did not activate and did not try to break had to stomp on the pedal to stop. Parking sensors do not activate until you are 2 or 3 inches away from hitting it.
2022 MITSUBISHI. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARD TO PARTS BEING UNAVAILABLE TO PERFORM NHSTA SAFETY RECALL 22V-027. THE CONSUMER STATED THE WHEN DRIVING, THE HOOD FLOATER TREMBLES. THE CONSUMER STATED THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME COMPLETING THE RECALL REPAIR.
I have had this outlander since Sept of 2021 and the hood flutter is awful. A few attempts of installing weatherstrips and no change. I had the whole hood replaced and it seems as if the whole hood is even 10x worse. Its extremly distracting and can not be safe with the amount of movement it has. This is a distraction and safety issue. No change was made with the new hood. I’m going on a year with this vehicle and it’s problem after problem. The worst one is the major hood bouncing. (Yes, the hood is latched properly) it’s just getting worse week by week. I need an answer ASAP. This is not normal and defiantly not safe at all! It’s a matter of time when that latch gives and that hood comes up!
The contact owns a 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander. The contact stated that while his wife was driving approximately 15-20 MPH on a steep incline, the brake pedal was depressed but failed to respond and felt firm. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. Additionally, the steering wheel became difficult to turn. The contact's wife engaged the electronic parking brake but the vehicle continued rolling onto a two-lane highway. The contact's wife turned off and restarted the vehicle. The contact's wife then veered to the side of the road. The contact 's wife was able to continue driving. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle was experiencing electrical failures. The contact stated that the Forward Collision Avoidance chime would engage and the message "Crash Detection" would display erroneously while driving. The contact also stated that the hood of the vehicle would slightly open while driving. The dealer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the dealer for a diagnostic test. The failure mileage was approximately 25,000.
P255/45R20 These tires from the date of purchase hydroplane at 45mph or more in mere light rain or a standing small puddle causing me to leave the road until it catches and then sends me the other way. it is very dangerous. I called Bridgestone they said no known issue and there is nothing they can do ref 1398758 spoke to mark. I contacted the salesperson several times he also agrees this is a known issue with other cars with these same tires, and stated he himself bought one and had to buy a new set of tires right away. This was a brand new car. This should not be happening. I am terrified to drive my car in the rain. Not to mention I can't and never have been able to leave the driveway in any snow or ice. But the rain? I have almost had it towed home several times on the highway during light rain due to being petrified. There is something wrong with the tread or something here
