TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS, HE WAS ABLE TO START THE VEHICLE WITHIN FIFTEEN MINUTES. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED AND THE FAILURE CODES REVEALED THAT THE CRANK SHAFT POSITION SENSOR WAS MALFUNCTIONING. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY ADVISED HIM THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT RECALLED AND WOULD PROVIDE NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 55,000.
I HAVE A 2006 NISSAN ALTIMA SE-R. THE CLUTCH REPEATEDLY LOOSES PRESSURE WHEN THE AMBIENT TEMPERATURE IS HOT COMBINED WITH A HEAVY TRAFFIC SITUATION. I HAVE BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES AND THEY SAY THEY HAVE REPLACED THE CYLINDER, BUT THE PROBLEM PERSISTS. I DID A LITTLE ONLINE INVESTIGATING AND IT APPEARS AS THOUGH I AM NOT THE ONLY PERSON THAT OWNS AN ALTIMA THAT IS PLAGUED BY THE SAFETY ISSUE. IT ALMOST IS IMPOSSIBLE TO SHIFT. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED; THE LOWER THE SPEED, THE MORE PRONOUNCED THE FAILURE WAS. WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN RECALL 07V527000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BEFORE THE ECM WAS TO BE REPROGRAMMED, WHICH WAS THE RECALLED COMPONENT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 84,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 85,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THERE WAS A RELATED RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT HIS VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL 07V527000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). VEHICLE IN QUESTION: 2006 NISSAN ALTIMA, CURRENTLY NISSAN?S ORIGINAL 60 MONTH UNLIMITED MILE RUST WARRANTY. 72,296 MILES. DRIVER AND PASSENGER FLOOR BOARD AREA ARE RUSTING THROUGH. (AROUND THE FOOT WELL AREA.) I BELIEVE THIS TO BE A KNOWN-DEFECT AND KNOWN ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE AND NISSAN IS NOT CORRECTING THIS ISSUE. I KNOWN OTHER NISSAN ALTIMA OWNERS WHO HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AND THERE ARE NUMEROUS CASES OF THIS PROBLEM DOCUMENTED ON REPUTABLE WEB SITES. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. THE DRIVER?S AND PASSENGER?S FEET CAN PUSH THROUGH THE FLOOR AND ARE NOT ADEQUATELY PROTECTED DUE TO THE WEAKENED, RUSTED METAL SHOULD A ACCIDENT OCCUR. HE WILL FIGHT FOR ME BECAUSE I AM A LOCAL CUSTOMER. NISSAN ATTRIBUTES THE PROBLEM TO THE FLOORBOARD AREA BEING USED AS A JACK-MOUNT POINT. HE TOOK PICTURES SHOWING THIS WAS NOT THE CASE AND HE AGREED THAT WOULD BE A RIDICULOUS POINT TO USE TO LIFT THE VEHICLE. APRIL 16, 2010 WAS INFORMED BY ROLAND KOSTIEW (ROCKINHAM NISSAN SERVICE MANAGER) VIA TELEPHONE THAT NISSAN WILL NOT COVER THE UNDERBODY RUST THROUGH AND THAT IT IS NOT COVERED BECAUSE OF ENVIRONMENTAL CAUSES WITH NO FURTHER EXPLANATION. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ENGINE WAS BURNING EXCESSIVE OIL, CAUSING THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER TO FAIL. IN ADDITION, THE REAR SUSPENSION WAS SITTING ABNORMALLY LOW TO THE GROUND AND WAS SITTING NOTICEABLY LOWER THAN THE FRONT SUSPENSION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO INFORMED HIM THAT THE ENGINE AND CATALYTIC CONVERTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED WHO ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOR THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 166,000.
WE BOUGHT THE CAR FROM NISSAN DEALER IN RICHMOND KY, HAD 16,400 MILES, NOTHING WRONG BODY/INTERIOR GREAT PRICE..WELL ONE WEEK LATER WE HAD A 6 STAR CRACK ON WINDSHIELD, WAS TOLD IT HAD TO BE REPLACED,FREE FROM KY STATE LAW . WHEN EXCHANGED THE SERVICE MAN WHO REPLACES THEM EVERY DAY SHOWED ME THAT THE GLUE WASN'T BONDED TO OUR CAR IN THE FIRST PLACE. SO IF WE WERE IN A WRECK, IT COULD HAVE SHATTERED ALL OVER US. PASSENGER SIDE FLOOR BOARD RUSTED THROUGH. DRIVER SIDE SEEMS OK (FOR NOW) MAYBE BECAUSE I ALWAYS DO UNDER-WASH EVERY TIME WASHING THE CAR. FIRST NOTICED THE RUSTING AFTER AROUND 4 YEARS OF OWNERSHIP WHEN DID A DIY OIL CHANGE BUT I JUST IGNORED IT BECAUSE I JUST THOUGHT I'M JUST ONE OF THE UNLUCKY OWNER UNTIL DID A DIY OIL CHANGE LAST MONTH AND MY SURPRISED THE RUST GOTTEN WORST AND WIDENED. BOUGHT THE CAR BRAND NEW IN JUNE, 2006 AND WAS GARAGE KEPT SINCE DAY ONE. IT ALSO GET WASHED REGULARLY BY ME AND AUTO CARWASH IN THE WINTER OF COURSE WITH UNDER CARRIAGE WASH. THE CAR HAS NOW 110K MILES.
REGULAR DRIVING. I WENT TO PARK CAR AND COULD NOT TAKE OUT OF GEAR ONLY ABLE TO PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AND LEAVE KEY IN IGNITION . THE CAR ROLLED INTO AND WAS STOPPED BY CURBING, THANKFULLY, BEFORE ROLLING INTO A BUSY ROAD. THE SHIFT LOCK SOLENOID ON NISSAN ALTIMA LOCKED UP. THE SHIFT LOCK SOLENOID AND SHIFT LOCK CONTROL MODULE WERE REPLACED AND OLD PARTS KEPT BY DEALER. *TR
THE BACK SEAT FLOOR BOARD (RIGHT SIDE) FILLS UP WITH WATER EVERY TIME IT RAINS. I ASKED THE NISSAN DEALER WHERE I BOUGHT IT FROM ABOUT IT AND THEY TOLD ME IT WOULD COST ME $80 FOR THEM TO LOOK AT IT AND $200-$400 TO FIX IT IF THEY COULD EVEN FIND OUT WHERE THE WATER WAS COMING FROM. THE PROBLEM IS MOLD IS BUILDING UP UNDER THE MATS AND MY 1YR OLD SON AND MYSELF ARE BREATHING IN THIS MOLD ON A DAILY BASIS. IT SEEMS AS THOUGH ONCE A DEALER GETS YOUR MONEY THEY DONT CARE ABOUT THE CAR ONCE YOU DRIVE IT OFF THE LOT. I DO HAVE AN EXTENDED WARRENTY WHICH WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR THEY ASSURRED ME IT WAS BUMPER TO BUMPER WITH THE EXCEPTION OF LIGHTS WIPERS & TIRES. NOW THEY DO NOT WANT TO HONOR THAT GOOD OLE "BUMPER TO BUMPER" EXTENDED WARRENTY THAT I JUST HAD TO BUY TO PROTECT MYSELF AGAINST ANY PROBLEMS (SO THEY PROMISED ME). *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED OF RECALL 07V527000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING) AND SHE WAS TOLD THAT HER VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE SENSOR WAS REPAIRED AT THE OWNERS EXPENSE. THE MANUFACTURER OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 25,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 26,000.
I AM FILING THIS COMPLAINT TO DOCUMENT A SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT COUPLED WITH A RAPID CHANGE IN RPM AND RESULTING ENGINE STALL. WHILE NO CRASH OCCURRED, WITH THE LOSS OF POWER STEERING IN THE PARKING LOT THE VEHICLE ALMOST IMPACTED ANOTHER COMING IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. A DIAGNOSTIC CHECK WAS RUN ON THE VEHICLE AND SHOWED A CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION. THIS VEHICLE WAS PART OF RECALL CAMPAIGN 06V223000 AND HAD THE ENGINE REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY AT APPROXIMATELY 58,000 MILES. UNDER RECALL CAMPAIGN 07V527000 WHICH DESCRIBES SIMILAR SYMPTOMS REGARDING THE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR, THOSE VEHICLES FIXED DUE TO RECALL CAMPAIGN 06V223000 ARE NOT ELIGIBLE. HOWEVER, IT IS POSSIBLE THAT ADDITIONAL CONTRIBUTING FACTORS MAY LEAD TO THE SENSOR MALFUNCTION. THE VEHICLE IS SCHEDULED FOR MAINTENANCE TO REPLACE THE SENSOR; HOWEVER, AT A COST OF $370. *TR
SINCE 1ST OCCURRENCE DATE LISTED HEREIN THROUGH PRESENT 11/15/2011, VEHICLE CONTINUES TO RANDOMLY FAIL TO START & STALLS AT FREEWAY & SURFACE STREET SPEEDS AND WHEN IDLING AT A STOP; I HAVE USED AN AUTEL MAXISCAN MS300 CAN OBD-II SCAN TOOL EVERYTIME THE VEHICLE HAS PRESENTED THESE SYMPTOMS. EACH TIME THE SCAN HAS CONFIRMED A "CRANK SHAFT POSITION SENSOR" FAILURE AND SOMETIMES INCLUDES AN "ENGINE SPEED SENSOR" FAILURE; I PHONED NISSAN U.S.A OPERATIONS AND WAS TOLD BY THEIR REPRESENTATIVE THAT MY VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL FOR THESE PROBLEMS; THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A SCAM BY NISSAN TO NOT INCLUDE MY VIN BASED UPON THE NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS FOR THE EXACT SAME ISSUES AND THE VIN'S NOT BEING INCLUDED; I PLAN TO SUE NISSAN FOR THE REPAIRS IN SMALL CLAIMS COURT IN CALIFORNIA IF IT IS NOT RECTIFIED. *TR

THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT SYSTEM HOUSING ASSEMBLY BROKE. SUDDENLY, THE DRIVER WAS EJECTED INTO THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WINDSHIELD. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED BRUISES AND A SMALL CUT TO THE FACE; A BUMP TO THE FOREHEAD AREA. THE POLICE AND AMBULANCE WERE CALLED TO THE SCENE. THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OCCUPANT WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A COLLISION CENTER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,558. THERE ARE PHOTOGRAPHS AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST.

MY 2006 NISSAN ALTIMA TURNED OFF ON ME COMING TO AN INTERSECTION TWICE. I FOUND OUT ABOUT THE RECALL ON THE SENSOR SO I TAKE IT IN TO THE DEALER TO GET IT FIX. WHAT I AM BEING TOLD BY THE DEALER SHIP IS THAT MY ALTIMA IS SHUTTING OFF BECAUSE THERE'S OIL ON MY CAM AND CRANK SENSOR WHICH THEY ARE CHARGING ME $370.00. I AM HEARING THAT THEY ARE GETTING ALOT OF CARS WITH THIS OIL ON THE SENSOR. HE SAID THAT THE SENSORS HAD ALOT OF OIL ON IT. I ASKED THEN HOW COME I NEVER SAW ANY OIL SPOTS WHERE I PARKED? ON MY 2006 NISSAN ALTIMA WITH THE MANUAL TRANSMISSION, IT HAS A TENDENCY TO JUST LOSE PRESSURE ON THE CLUTCH PEDAL AS I AM DRIVING MAKING IT HARD OR SOMETIMES VERY NEAR IMPOSSIBLE TO SHIFT IN AND OUT OF GEARS.......HAS HAPPENED TO ME ON BUSY ROADS CAUSING A VERY SCARY SITUATION. *TR
1-2 TIMES A WEEK,I HAVE TO REPEATEDLY PUSH HARD ON THE BRAKE TO GET THE CAR OUT OF PARK. I AM NOT PARKING ON ANY KIND OF INCLINE. THIS HAS GONE ON FOR SEVERAL MONTHS. WE PURCHASED A USED 2006 NISSAN ALTIMA, WITH IN A MONTH OF PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE WE WERE UNABLE TO GET THE CAR OUT OF PARK OR INTO PARK. WE THOUGHT IT MIGHT HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE WINTER WEATHER, BECAUSE IT WAS PERIODICALLY HAPPENING. IT IS NOW SUMMER AND IT HAPPENS EVERY TIME WE START THE CAR. IT EVEN HAPPENS WHEN WE HAVE BEEN DRIVING THE CAR AND PULL IN TO A PARKING SPOT , WE ARE UNABLE TO GET THE CAR INTO PARK. WE HAVE BEEN OVERRIDING THE LOCK MECHANISM BY INSERTING A METAL TOOL INTO IT, BUT IT IS QUITE INCONVENIENT EVERY TIME WE DRIVE THE CAR TO HAVE TO DO THIS! *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL REPAIR FACILITY WHERE HE WAS ADVISED BY THE MECHANIC THAT THE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. ALTHOUGH THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE FAILURE (NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 07V527000: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOING), THE CONTACT'S VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 56,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 63,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN WITH HIS FOOT ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE FAILURE HAS OCCURRED ONCE SINCE HE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY DIDN'T HAVE ANYONE ELSE FILE A COMPLAINT ABOUT THE FAILURE. NO REPAIRS WERE MADE TO DATE. ON MY 2006 NISSAN ALTIMA WITH 2.5 LITER ENGINE, IT WOULD STOP RUNNING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS FROM 70MPH DOWN TO 5MPH (IN RUSH HOUR STOP/GO TRAFFIC). IT ALSO WOULD INTERMITTENTLY FAIL TO START PROPERLY BY CRANKING FOR UP TO 45 SECONDS BEFORE START. THIS OCCURRED OVER A PERIOD OF 3 MONTHS AND BECAME WORSE QUICKLY, WITH "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" ON, SO I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP (GRUBBS NISSAN, BEDFORD, TX) WHERE THEY DIAGNOSED IT AS A FAULTY CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR (CPS) SO THEY REPLACED IT FOR $204.34 TOTAL. THIS CPS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM THAT NISSAN SAYS MY VEHICLE IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL # 07V527000; THERE ARE OVER 650K VEHICLES THAT ARE POTENTIALLY AFFECTED AND I KNOW MY ISSUE IS DIRECTLY RELATED TO THE PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE. NEW SENSOR IS IN; OLD PART IS NOT AVAILABLE. *TR
I HAVE A 2006 NISSAN ALTIMA, LAST YEAR IN OCTOBER MY WIFE WAS DRIVING THIS CAR TO GO TO GROCERY STORE, JUST AS SHE ABOUT TO PARK THE CAR, THE VEHICLE DRIVER SIDE POWER SEAT SUDDENLY LUNGE FORWARD, IT CAUSE MY WIFE TO LOSE CONTROL AND HIT ANOTHER CAR THAT IS PARK NEXT TO WHERE SHE WAS ABOUT TO PARK. I TAKE THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR, THE DRIVER SEAT WHERE AT A INVERT 60 DEGREE ANGLE, THE DEALERSHIP NOTICE THE POWER SUPPLY IS BURN, SO THEY REPLACE THE POWER SUPPLY, BUT REFUSE TO REPAIR THE DAMAGE TO MY CAR AND THE OTHER CAR MY WIFE HIT. VEHICLE STALLING WHILE IN MOTION USUALLY WHILE SLOWING TO STOP OR WHEN ACCELERATING AFTER BEING STOPPED. SES LIGHT CAME ON TODAY WHEN IT STALLED AND I TOOK IT STRAIGHT TO DEALERSHIP. THEY STATED IT WAS CRANK AND CAM SENSORS. THEY REPLACED THEM AND CHARGED ME $260. HAD TO HAVE ENGINE REPLACED AT 19,XXX MILES UNDER A RECALL. CAR HAS 58,7XX MILES NOW AND THIS TIME I HAD TO PAY. GO ONLINE AND FIND IN EXCESS OF 160 CONSUMER REPORTS OF THIS VERY CAM AND CRANK PROBLEM AND EVERYONE HAVING TO PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR IT WHEN IT IS CLEARLY A DEFECT ESPECIALLY BEING THAT MY ENGINE WAS REPLACED SO THE DEFECT IS NOT JUST IN THE ORIGINAL ENGINES. SERVICE DEPT. MADE NO MENTION OF THERE BEING A RECALL TO ME BUT BEING THAT I NEVER GOT THE RECALL NOTICE WHEN I HAD TO HAVE THE ENGINE REPLACED AT 19,XXX (AND I BOUGHT MY CAR NEW AND REMAINED AT SAME RESIDENCE) I DECIDED TO JUST CHECK ONLINE TO SEE IF OTHERS WERE HAVING CAM AND CRANK PROBLEMS. BACK SEAT LATCH HOOKS ARE UNACCESABLE FOR LATCH SYSTEM OF BABY/CHILD CAR SEATS. THE PLACEMENT MADE IT IMPOSSIBLE TO FOR THE LATCHES SO WE ARE FORCED TO ONLY USE THE LAP BELT TO SECURE TO CAR SEAT. *TR

THE DEALER PREFORMED SEVERAL ALIGNMENTS, THE TIE ROD WAS REPLACED AND TWO SETS OF NEW TIRES WERE INSTALLED TO THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE BUT TO NO AVAIL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED BUT DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 54,000.
OUR 2006 NISSAN ALTIMA 2.5L'S ENGINE STOPPED RUNNING WHILE BEING DRIVEN ON JULY 6. 2009. AFTER THE INCIDENT, I RESEARCHED RECALL INFORMATION REGARDING THE 2006 NISSAN ALTIMA, AND DISCOVERED A RECALL REQUIRING THE ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE TO BE REPROGRAMMED. HOWEVER, WHEN I TOOK IT INTO TIM DAHLE'S NISSAN IN SANDY, UTAH WHERE WE PURCHASED THE CAR, THEY TOLD US THE CRANKSHAFT SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THEREFORE, NISSAN'S RECALL IS NOT FIXING THE PROBLEM BY SIMPLY REPROGRAMMING THE ECM. INSTEAD, THE ROOT OF THE PROBLEM IS THE CRANKSHAFT SENSOR, AND THE CONSUMER IS REQUIRED TO SPEND $200 TO GET THIS REPAIR DONE. THE RECALL SPECIFIES THE PROBLEM, BUT DOES NOT TAKE FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS DEFECTIVE PART. *TR
The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that since owning the vehicle, the brakes, brake pads, or brake rotors were replaced every year to a year and a half. The contact became aware of the failure while depressing the brake pedal with an abnormal, grinding sound coming from the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was initially serviced at a dealer; however, due to the recurring brake failure, the contact suspected that the dealer might have intentionally caused the frequent brake failure. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic once the failure returned; however, the vehicle experienced the same failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000.

FOR NO APPARENT REASON THE CLUTCH PEDAL WILL LOSE ALL RESISTANCE AND LAY ON THE FLOOR LEAVING THE VEHICLE INOPERABLE AND STRANDED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THIS ISSUE HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES, AS EARLY AS 44K MILES AND AS RECENT AS LAST THURSDAY, MARCH 24, 2011 WITH 68K MILES. PUMPING THE CLUTCH PEDAL FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME DID RESTORE ENOUGH HYDRAULIC PRESSURE TO OPERATE THE CLUTCH AND WITHIN 2 MILES OF "IN TOWN" DRIVING THE CLUTCH PROBLEM COMPLETELY RESOLVED AS IF IT NEVER HAPPENED. THERE ARE MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS OF THIS ISSUE ON THE FORUMS. FORT PIERCE NISSAN OFFICIAL ANSWER WAS " NOTHING". THEY WOULDN'T ACKNOWLEDGE IT. I'M SURE WITH ALL THE COMPLAINTS FROM ALTIMA SE-R OWNERS NISSAN IS FULLY AWARE OF THE ISSUE, YET THEY WON'T STEP UP TO THE PLATE AND MAKE IT RIGHT FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS. TODAY, 2/17/09, WHILE SURFING THE INTERNET, I CAME ACROSS A WEBSITE THAT POSTS NISSAN RECALL INFORMATION. I FOUND THAT NOV 21, 2007 A MASS RECALL WAS PERFORMED FOR OVER 653,000 VEHICLES, FOR 2002 & 2005-2006 ALTIMA/SENTRA MODELS, WITH 2.5L ENGINES, FOR DEFECTIVE CRANKSHAFT SENSOR, WHICH CAUSES THE ENGINE TO SHUT OFF. THEN ON NOV 8, 2007, CAMPAIGN #07V527000 WAS INACTED; SUMMARY: ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH A 2.5L ENGINE, THE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR CAN OVERHEAT CAUSING A BRIEF INTERRUPTION IN THE SIGNAL OUTPUT FROM THE SENSOR" CONSEQUENCE: THE VEHICLE CAN STOP AND CAUSE A CRASH; MY CONCERN IS: MY VEHICLE IS LISTED UNDER THIS RECALL, BUT NOT THE CRANKSHAFT SENSOR RECALL.
