I LEASED A NISSAN ALTIMA 2007 FIVE MONTHS AGO. THE VEHICLE HAD ABOUT 7000 MILES ON IT WHEN LAST NIGHT I WAS DRIVING ON THE NJ PARKWAY AND MY ACCELERATOR WOULDN'T WORK, SO I COASTED TO THE SHOULDER DODGING CARS ALONG THE WAY. AT THIS POINT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. WHEN I REACHED THE SHOULDER I COULD SEE FLAMES UNDER MY HOOD. WITHIN TEN MINUTES THE ENTIRE CAR WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES AND HAD SEVERAL SMALL EXPLOSIONS. PLEASE HELP ME TO FIND OUT WHAT I CAN DO. SINCE THIS I HAVE FOUND THAT THERE HAVE BEEN 30 SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE CAR AND WHEN I CONTACTED THE CAR DEALER THEY TRIED TO ACT LIKE THEY HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THIS COMPLAINT. *JB
I WAS DRIVING A NISSAN ALTIMA HYBRID WITH APPROX. 4000 MILES AT 65 MPH. ALL OF A SUDDEN THE ENGINE/GAS PEDDLE WAS NOT RESPONDING AND SMOKE STARTED TO FILL THE FRONT OF THE CAR. I PULLED OVER ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE FRONT END OF THE CAR WAS ON FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS A TOTAL LOSS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE WAS ABLE TO ENGAGE THE IGNITION START BUTTON WITHOUT THE VEHICLE BEING IN PARK. SHE STATED THE VEHICLE HAD ROLLED AWAY AT LEAST SIX TIMES IN REVERSE AND FORWARD. DEPENDING ON THE INCLINE, THE CONTACT WOULD SHUT OFF THE IGNITION TO STOP THE FAILURE. THE DEALER ADVISED SHIFTING TO PARK BEFORE EXITING THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT DID NOT SPEAK WITH THE MANUFACTURER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 1,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 42,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHEN APPLYING PRESSURE TO THE BRAKES, THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD GRINDING SOUND. AFTER AN INSPECTION, THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY WOULD REPLACE THE BRAKE ROTORS UNDER WARRANTY. THE FOLLOWING DAY, SHE HEARD THE NOISE AGAIN AND THE DEALER STATED THAT IT WAS NORMAL. TWO MONTHS LATER, WHILE DRIVING IN RAINY WEATHER, THE CONTACT WAS INVOLVED IN A CRASH. ANOTHER DEALER STATED THAT THE PREVIOUS DEALER DID NOT REPLACE THE BRAKE SYSTEM, ONLY THE BRAKE PADS. THE SECOND DEALER ALSO STATED THAT THE BRAKE SYSTEM WAS DEFECTIVE. THE CONTACT FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE MANUFACTURER. THE VIN, ENGINE SIZE, NUMBER OF CYLINDERS, SPEED, AND POWERTRAIN WERE UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 11,900 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 20,000.
WE BOUGHT A 2007 ALTIMA (USED) WHICH STILL HAD ALL ORIGINAL MANUFACTURE PARTS ON IT. THE SECOND DAY THAT WE HAD IT THE BRAKES STARTED SQUEALING. WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THEY HAD IT FROM 7AM UNTIL I FINALLY GOT IT BACK AT 11PM WHICH SEEMED WEIRD AND UPSET ME VERY MUCH. THEY TOLD ME THAT ALL THEY NEEDED TO DO WAS CLEAN THE PADS AND FOR EXTRA HELP THEY SPRAYED SOME STUFF ON THEM TO KEEP IT FROM SQUEALING. THE NEXT DAY STARTED SQUEALING AGAIN, SO I TOOK IT BACK AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY JUST FOUND OUT THAT NISSAN'S CORPORATE TECH'S WERE TRYING TO FIND OUT WHAT CAUSED ALL OF THE ALTIMA'S TO HAVE THIS ISSUE. THEN THEY WANTED TO PUT NEW PAD ON FOR ME TO SEE IF IT WOULD HELP. I AGREED AND TO BRING IT IN THE NEXT DAY AND I WENT HOME AND MARKED THE PADS MYSELF AND WHEN I TOOK IT IN I ASKED TO SEE THE OLD PADS WHEN THEY WERE FINISHED. WHEN I WENT IN AND THEY SHOWED ME THE PADS THEY WERE NOT THE ONES I MARKED AND THEY INSISTED THAT THEY WERE AND THE ISSUE WAS FIXED. AND THEY SAID THERE WILL PROBABLY BE A FIX OR A RECALL BY NEXT YEAR AND TO JUST DEAL WITH IT IF IT STARTED SQUEALING AGAIN WHICH STARTED AS I WAS STILL IN THE DEALERS PARKING LOT. PLEASE HELP. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED WITH THE ELECTRIC BUTTON, THE CONTACT HEARD A VERY LOUD NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE FAILURE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED TWICE; HOWEVER, IT STILL OCCURRED. SHE ALSO STATED THAT AN EXTENSIVE AMOUNT OF HEAT WAS COMING FROM THE VENT NEAR THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WHILE THE HEATING SYSTEM WAS NOT ACTIVATED. THE POWERTRAIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 11,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 2-35 MPH, THE ENGINE MADE A LOUD SCREECHING NOISE. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN INSPECTED BY A DEALER. THE ENGINE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPLACED AT 6,000 MILES DUE TO THE ENGINE OVERHEATING. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 8,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG LIGHT SHOULD DISPLAY OFF WHEN NO ONE IS SITTING IN THE SEAT, OR WHEN A CHILD UNDER 90 POUNDS SITS IN THE SEAT. HOWEVER, THE AIR BAG LIGHT CONTINUES TO DISPLAY THAT THE AIR BAG WAS DEACTIVATED EVEN WHEN AN ADULT IS SITTING IN THE SEAT. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALER. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 14,000 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
I WAS DRIVING MY CAR HEADING HOME FROM WORK ON THE HIGHWAY IN STEADY TRAFFIC AND THE CAR WOULDN'T GO JUST DROPPED DOWN TO ZERO, HOWEVER THE CAR WAS GOING ABOUT 35...I CONTACTED MY DEALER AND THEY SAID IT WAS PROBABLY BAD GAS AND TO BRING IT IN FOR A CHECK..AFTER GOING IN AND PAYING THE 90 PLUS DOLLARS I WAS TOLD NOTHING WAS WRONG..AFTER TIME PASSED IT DIDN'T DO IT FOR A WHILE AND AROUND 95THOUSAND PLUS MILES IT DID IT ALL OVER AGAIN.. TOOK CAR IN AND WAS TOLD NOTHING WAS WRONG..AFTER DRIVING AND FINALLY IT WOULDN'T GO ANYMORE AND MY CARS WAS AT ABOUT 160 MILES BY NOW I TOOK IT IN AND WAS TOLD THAT I NEED TO MAYBE GET A TUNE UP AFTER GETTING A TUNE UP. IT DROVE FINE UNTIL I DROVE OUT OF STATE AND THE CAR WAS DRIVING BUT SPEEDOMETER WAS @0. FINALLY MADE IT HOME SAFE AFTER LETTING CAR COOL ON THE HIGHWAY EVERY 50 MILES AND TOOK BACK TO SHOP AND WAS TOLD THAT WHEN GETTIN A TUNE UP IF FLUIDS LOOK OK THEY AREN'T CHANGED..SO UPON FINDING THIS OUT I WAS TOLD I NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION @ A DIFFERENT SHOP PUT NEW TRANSMISSION IN AND DROVE FINE FOR 35 PLUS THOUSAND MILES AND EVERYTHING STARTED ALL OVER AGAIN..TOOK BACK AND WAS TOLD I NEEDED A CATALYTIC CONVERTER A NEW DOWN FLEX PIPE AND A NEW TRANSMISSION...I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW TO GET A CAR TRANSMISSION RECALLED OR OFF THE MARKET CAUSE I'VE NEVER HAD TO DEAL WITH A CAR LIKE THIS BEFORE..I GUESS THAT'S WHAT I GET FOR STEPPING OUT ON THE ACURA AND HONDA FAMILY...:-) PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS FOR ME THANK YOU!! *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE AIR BAG LIGHT BLINKED INTERMITTENTLY AND REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT WEIGHS 112 LBS. WHEN RIDING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT OF A TAHOE, SHE STATED THAT THE AIR BAG LIGHT DOES NOT ILLUMINATE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THIS WAS NORMAL BECAUSE HER AIR BAG HAS A SMART SYSTEM. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE DEALER WAS INCORRECT AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO INSTALL THE AIR BAG ON/OFF SWITCH IN THE VEHICLE. THE POWERTRAIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 2,806 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,341. THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH SEAT RAILS IN MY 07 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHEN I HAVE TO STOP SUDDEN, HARD THE SEAT SHIFTS FORWARD AND BACK. THEY HAVE REPLACED 2 TIMES ALREADY, BUT NEED TO BE DONE AGAIN. NISSAN TOLD ME THEY NEW THEY HAD AN ISSUE AFTER 2ND REPAIR, THAT IS WHY THEY TOOK OVER MONTH TOM FIX., NOW THEY WANT TO FIX WITH SAME BROKEN PARTS, EVEN THOUGH ORIGINALLY CORPORATE TECH TOLD THE DEALER NOT TO REPLACE UNTIL THEY HAD A FIX FOR THE PROBLEM, THEY WERE OVER RIDDEN BY THE AREA REP HERE. THEY CAN NOT GUARANTY ME IT WILL FIX THE PROBLEMS, AS WELL AS THEY CAN NOT TELL ME THE SEAT IS GOING TO STOP IF I HAD TO BREAK FOR AN ACCIDENT. PUT A BUY BACK AND NISSAN BASICALLY HAS TOLD ME TO EAT THE CAR ND THAT THEY WASN'T TO KEEP FIXING IT. THE SEAT SHIFTING IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND LOOKING AT THE NISSAN ALTIMA FORUMS, THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS CAR. HAD THE CAR IN AT 1550, AND 3000 MILES TO REPAIR THIS PART, THEN AGAIN IN MARCH 08. *TR

AFTER BEING INVOLVED IN A 3-CAR ACCIDENT ON THE NJ TURNPIKE AT 3:15P.M. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, EVERYONE WAS WEARING SEAT BELTS, YET NO ONE WAS HURT, NOT EVEN A WHIP LASH. THE LEFT SIDE SUSTAINED HEADLIGHT AND HOOD DAMAGE, DRIVERS DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN AND IT APPEARED THAT THE RADIATOR WAS BUSTED SINCE LIQUID WAS POURING OUT. WE WERE TOWED TO THE NEAREST COLLISION PLACE AND GEICO TOWED IT FROM THERE TO ITS OWN SHOP. SINCE THE CAR WAS SO NEW, GEICO HAD SOME DIFFICULTY IN OBTAINING PART NUMBERS AND COST. THE NEXT CALL FROM GEICO WAS TO TELL US THAT THE CAR WAS TOTALED. THE BATTERY EXPLODED. BATTERY ACID EATING MOST OF THE COMPONENTS UNDER THE HOOD. QUESTION WHICH WAS DEFECTIVE.. THE AIR BAGS THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM OR THE BATTERY WHY WOULD A BATTERY EXPLODE WHEN THE CAR DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH IMPACT TO DEPLOY THE AIR BAGS? *TR
PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT IS NOT ACTIVE WHILE PASSENGER IS IN SEAT. THIS PROBLEM HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY. MY WIFE AND I ARE BOTH ABOUT 160LBS AND WHEN WE SIT IN PASSENGER SEAT THE "NOT ACTIVE" AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON THE VEHICLE. I CONTACTED NISSAN ABOUT IT AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NO ISSUE. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY COULD NOT REPRODUCE. I SUBMITTED AN ISSUE ON NISSAN WEBSITE AND HAVE NOT HEARD ANYTHING. IF I GET IN AN ACCIDENT AND THE AIRBAG DOES NOT DEPLOY THERE COULD BE SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH TO THE PASSENGER. NOW THERE IS A RECALL ON THE PRODUCT BUT DEALERSHIP IS TELLING ME MY CAR IS NOT LISTED AND I HAVE TO PAY TO GET IT LOOKED AT WHEN I'M STILL UNDER FACTORY WARRANTY. THERE IS NO SPECIFIC INCIDENT DATE SINCE IT OCCURS SO RANDOMLY. *TR

AFTER EXITING THE VEHICLE, HE COULD NOT HEAR THE ELECTRIC MOTOR ENGINE RUNNING. APPROXIMATELY TWO HOURS LATER, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE ELECTRIC MOTOR WAS ACTIVATED. CARBON MONOXIDE FUMES WERE PRESENT IN THE GARAGE AND THE VEHICLE OVERHEATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO A DESIGN FLAW BECAUSE THERE WAS NO INDICATION THAT THE VEHICLE WAS STILL RUNNING. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 1,585 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50.
SINCE I HAVE GOTTEN MY 2007 NISSAN ALTIMA, THERE HAS BEEN VARIOUS ISSUES/PROBLEMS WITH IT. ONE OF MY COMPLAINTS HAS BEEN THE BRAKES. I WAS TOLD BY MY DEALERSHIP THAT THE SQUEAKY SCREECHING NOISE IS NORMAL FOR ALL NISSAN'S WHICH I THOUGHT WAS A BUNCH OF CRAP. THROUGH THE YEARS, NO MATTER IF REPLACING BRAKE PADS TO CALIBERS I SHOULD NOT HAVE THE SQUEAKING STILL. *TR

WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD A THUMPING SOUND AND THE VEHICLE SLOWED DOWN. SHE NOTICED THAT THERE WAS A BLOW OUT ON THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT TIRE. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 100 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN ALTIMA. ON SIX OCCASIONS, WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, ALL OF THE WINDOWS WENT DOWN. THE FOLLOWING DAY, THE BATTERY WAS DRAINED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WENT THROUGH ARBITRATION WITH THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU, BUT DID NOT WIN THE CASE. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY STILL UNDER WARRANTY. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT BECAUSE HE WENT THROUGH ARBITRATION, THE VEHICLE IS HIS RESPONSIBILITY. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 24,500 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,961.
SIMILAR PROBLEM AS DESCRIBED BY OTHER PERSON IN THIS FORUM. DRIVER SEAT WILL MOVE WITH TURNS OR SUDDEN STOPS. ASKED THE DEALER TO REPLACE IT AND THEY SAID THAT IT MAKES NOT SENSE AS PROBLEM WILL RECUR. THEY ALSO ASKED ME TO WAIT FOR A RECALL FROM NISSAN (WAITING NOW FOR ALMOST ONE YEAR). I AGREE ON THE FACT THAT THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO ACCELERATE ON ITS OWN. THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE ALSO LOST TRACTION AS IF THE TRANSMISSION WAS SLIPPING. THE CONTACT STOPPED THE VEHICLE ON THE SHOULDER OF THE HIGHWAY AND ATTEMPTED TO SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF BY REMOVING THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION. THE ENGINE REMAINED ON AFTER THE KEY WAS REMOVED FROM THE IGNITION. THE VEHICLE EVENTUALLY SHUT OFF. THE CONTACT RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED SMOKE ESCAPING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. WHEN THE CONTACT LOOKED UNDER THE HOOD IT WAS ON FIRE. THE FIRE AND POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTED TO THE SCENE AND REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND WAS DECLARED DESTROYED. THE CONTACT WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF WHAT CAUSED THE FIRE TO OCCUR. WHEN THE CONTACT PURCHASED THE VEHICLE THE DEALER DID NOT NOTIFY HIM OF NHTSA RECALL CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 07V267000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING) WHICH THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED AND COULD BE RELATED TO THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000.
AFTER HEATING UP (AN HOUR OR SO OF DRIVING), THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND THE TRANSMISSION BEGINS TO FAIL. PUSH THE GAS PEDAL ALL THE WAY DOWN, AND THE RPM'S GO WAY UP, BUT CAR BARELY ACCELERATES. FIRST ATTEMPT AT DEALERSHIP, THEY COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM. A DAY LATER, THE PROBLEM HAPPENED AGAIN. THE SECOND ATTEMPT, THEY REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE. A DAY LATER, IT HAPPENED AGAIN. CURRENTLY AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE THIRD TIME. CAR ONLY HAS 4,500 MILES ON IT. BEGINNING TO GET PRETTY FRUSTRATING. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE VEHICLE ROLLED BACKWARDS AS THE PASSENGER WAS EXITING. THE DOOR BENT BACKWARDS AND SCRATCHED THE ENTIRE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT JUMPED INTO THE MOVING VEHICLE TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF FAILURE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 4,600 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,500. I HAVE A 2007 NISSAN ALTIMA. SINCE 7500 MILES, MY BRAKES SQUEAK WHEN BRAKE PEDAL IS PRESSED. I HAVE HAD MY CAR IN NUMEROUS TIMES AT THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH MY BRAKES. THEY ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THEY HEAR THE SQUEAK BUT DO NOT CONSIDER IT A DEFECT. I COMPLAINED TO NISSAN USA AND WAS TOLD THAT WHEN THEY CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP THAT CHECKED THE BRAKES, THEY WERE TOLD THAT THERE WAS NOT A PROBLEM AND THEY WERE NEVER ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE NOISE THAT I WAS HEARING WHEN I STOPPED. BRAND NEW 2007 NISSAN ALTIMA TOOK TO DEALE R AT 2915 FOR OIL CHANGE AND ASKED THEM TO CHECK BRAKES. THEY TOLD ME THEY NEEDED TO REPLACE BACK BRAKE PADS. WHILE WAITING 6 HOURS THEY FINALLY WERE GOING TO LET ME TAKE IT, BUT THE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. THE MECHANICS WERE NOT SURE WHAT CAUSED THIS AND THEY NEEDED THE CAR TO STAY. I THOUGHT THE CRUISE CONTROL DISENGAGED SO I PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL AND I WAS STILL DECELERATING. I PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY. WITHIN 30 SMOKE STARTED COMING OUT FROM UNDERNEATH THE HOOD ON THE DRIVERS SIDE AND THROUGH THE VENTS. I GOT OUT OF THE CAR AND WENT TO SAFE PLACE ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TURNED TO SEE THE INSIDE OF THE CAR COMPLETELY FILLED WITH BLACK SMOKE. WITHIN A MINUTE THE FLAMES CAME OUT FROM UNDER THE HOOD OF THE CAR. WITHIN 10 MINUTES THE CAR WAS COMPLETELY ENGULFED IN FLAMES. THIS WAS A RENTAL VEHICLE THAT WAS JUST COMPLETING A ROUND TRIP OF 180 MILES. IT WAS APPROXIMATELY 93 DEGREES WITH A HEAT INDEX OF 100. HE VEHICLE WAS RENTED THROUGH ENTERPRISE RENT-A-CAR. PASSENGER AIRBAG IS DEACTIVATED AT RANDOM TIMES (SOMETIMES FOR ENTIRE 20+ MINUTE TRIPS) REGARDLESS OF THE WEIGHT OF PASSENGER (ALL MORE THAN 100 POUNDS, SOME MORE THAN 200 POUNDS). I BELIEVE THE SENSOR IS DEFECTIVE. NISSAN HAS RECALLED SEVERAL VEHICLES OF MY MODEL YEAR, 2007, AND EVEN MY MODEL, ALTIMA HYBRID, HAS A RECALL, BUT MY VIN IS NOT INCLUDED. I BELIEVE THAT MY CAR HAS THE DEFECT THAT LED TO THE RECALL, AND EVEN THOUGH I'VE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER AT LEAST THRICE, THEY DON'T DO ANYTHING OTHER THAN RUN IT ON THE COMPUTER FOR ERROR CODES. SHE CALLS ME ONE MORE TIME ABOUT HALF A MINUTE AFTER AND TELLS ME MORE SMOKE IS COMING OUT AND TELLS ME IS BLACK SMOKE, I TELL HER THAT BLACK SMOKE MEANS SOMETHING IS ON FIRE, AS IM TELLING HER THIS SHE TELLS ME THAT SMOKE IS NOW COMING FROM THE AC VENTS, THAT'S WHEN I TELL HER TO GET OUT AND TAKE THE BABY AND TO CALL 911. I TELL HER IM ON MY WAY AND WE HANG UP. 2 MINUTES LATER SHE TELLS ME IT CAUGHT FIRE AND THE FIRE DEPARTMENT IS ON THE WAY. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT PUT THE FIRE OUT BUT THE CAR IS NOT TOTALED AT THE BODYSHOP, THE CAR WAS ALL BURNED FROM THE FRONT DOORS ALL THE WAY TO THE FRONT BUMPER. *TR
I PURCHASED MY 2003 ALTIMA 2.5S NEW FROM THE DEALER. AT APPROXIMATELY 50K MILES I BEGAN HEARING A WATER NOISE IN THE DASH AND WAS TOLD BY MY LOCAL SHOP THAT I HAD A CRACKED RADIATOR. I HAD THE EXTENDED WARRANTY SO THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE RADIATOR FOR $50, THEY ALSO FIXED THE WATER NOISE IN THE DASH STATING IT WAS RELATED TO THE RADIATOR. NOW AT 78K MILES, I HEAR THE WATER AGAIN AND WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER I HAD ANOTHER CRACKED RADIATOR. I NOW HAVE THE THIRD RADIATOR IN MY CAR BUT STILL HAVE THE WATER NOISE. I DO NOT BELIEVE 3 RADIATORS IN 4 YEARS IS "NORMAL" WEAR AND TEAR. ON SOME MINOR SLOPES, BUT NOT ALL, THE CVT TRANSMISSION-EQUIPPED 2007 ALTIMA WILL ROLL BACKWARDS SEVERAL FEET WHILE IN "DRIVE" POSING A HAZARD TO OBJECTS AND PERSONS BEHIND THE VEHICLE. WHILE TRANSPORTING A PASSENGER, THE PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT BECAME STUCK AND COULD NOT RELEASE THE LATCH FROM THE HOUSING COMPONENT. WHEN ATTEMPTING TO REMOVE THE SEAT BELT, IT WOULD BECOME TIGHTER AROUND THE PASSENGER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS LESS THAN 3,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 31,000.
