I JUST BOUGHT A 2008 NISSAN ALTIMA AND MY BRAKE LIGHT COMES ON WHEN I ACCELERATE. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY ARE SAYING THAT I HAVE A MASTER CYLINDER LEAK. THERE IS DEFINITELY A PROBLEM . *TR
I'VE SEEN A GROWING COMPLAINT ABOUT MELTING DASHBOARD ON THE 2008 NISSAN ALTIMA . I JUST WANTED TO FORMALLY FILE A COMPLAINT AND IT HAS BECOMING A NUISANCE WHEN I'M DRIVING AND THE SUN IS ON THE DASHBOARD. IT CREATED A GLARE AND IT IS DIFFICULT TO SEE. *TR
DASHBOARD IS MELTING AND STICKY. *JS
I HAD NOTICED FOR ABOUT A WEEK THAT THE BRAKE LIGHT INDICATOR ON MY DASH BOARD KEPT COMING ON. ON MONDAY 6/27/2011 I TOOK MY CAR TO MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALER. THERE THEY DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKING SYSTEM'S MASTER CYLINDER AND BOOSTER ASSEMBLY HAD LEAKED BRAKE FLUID MAKING THE CAR UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THEY REPLACED WITH A NEW BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER, BOOSTER ASSEMBLY, AND OTHER PARTS. THE DEALER MADE THE REPAIR AND I RETURNED TO DRIVE MY CAR AWAY ON 6/29/2011. TOTAL COST WITH PARTS, LABOR, AND TAX WAS $608.62 . I HAVE KEPT THE RECEIPT IN MY RECORDS. I HAD THE BRAKE LIGHT INDICATOR GO OFF SEVERAL TIMES FROM WHEN I PURCHASED IT NEW TO WHEN THIS LAST INCIDENT HAPPENED. I"M ASSUMING IN THE PAST THEY JUST TOPPED OFF THE BRAKE FLUID DURING REGULARLY SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE. THE BRAKES HAD ALWAYS BEEN VERY TOUCHY AND OVERLY TIGHT TO THE TOUCH. WITH THE REPAIR THE BRAKING SYSTEM IS NOT AS TIGHT BUT STILL VERY RESPONSIVE. AS A RESULT OF THIS SLOW LEAK OVER THE YEARS I ALWAYS NOTICED THAT THE BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR WOULD BE LOW AS WELL AND THAT DID NOT SEEM CORRECT FOR A NEW CAR. I PURCHASED THIS CAR BRAND NEW AND I AM THE ONLY OWNER. SINCE THE BREAKING LIGHT INDICATOR HAD BEEN A NORMAL OCCURRENCE MANY TIMES I AM SURPRISED THAT MY NISSAN TECHNICIAN DID NOT THOROUGHLY INSPECT THE BREAKING SYSTEM AT SOME POINT IN THE PAST YEARS. I WAS OUT OF WARRANTY DUE TO THE MILEAGE AND PAID FOR THE COST OUT OF MY PERSONAL FUNDS. I AM HOPING IF THERE IS A RECALL I WILL BE COMPENSATED FOR THIS REPAIR SINCE I AM CLAIMING THIS AS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CAR MANUFACTURER NISSAN AND/OR ANY OTHER ASSOCIATED ENTITIES. THANK YOU,
2008 NISSAN ALTIMA, PURCHASED NOVEMBER 2007. WHILE TRAVELING ON THE MERRITT PARKWAY IN CONNETICUT, THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, AND THERE WAS A LOSS OF POWER. AFTER PULLING OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, BLACK SMOKE STARTED COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND A FEW SECONDS LATER, THE CAR ERUPTED IN FLAMES. THE CAR IS A TOTAL LOSS AND PICTURES ARE AVAILABLE IF REQUIRED. *TR
FROM A COMPLETE STOP, PLACED FOOT ON BRAKE PEDAL, PUT TRANSMISSION INTO FORWARD, RELEASED FOOT FROM BRAKE PEDAL, VEHICLE ACCELERATED INTO REVERSE WITHOUT TOUCHING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL CAUSING AN ACCIDENT INTO A PARKED CAR. TEN DAYS LATER, FROM A COMPLETE STOP, PLACED FOOT ON BRAKE PEDAL, PUT TRANSMISSION INTO REVERSE, RELEASED FOOT FROM BRAKE PEDAL, VEHICLE ACCELERATED FORWARD WITHOUT TOUCHING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL CAUSING AN ACCIDENT INTO A TREE. EACH INCIDENT OCCURRED WITH DIFFERENT DRIVERS. TRANSMISSION IS FAULTY AT 42K MILES. CAR IS UNRELIABLE AND UNSAFE TO DRIVE. *TR

I RECENTLY HAVING ISSUE WITH MY BRAKE LIGHT COMING ON AND OFF AT RANDOM TIMES. WHICH AFTER RESEARCHING ONLINE IT APPEARS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE FOR MANY OTHERS, WITH BRAKE LEAKS. I HAVE NOTICED A SLIGHT DIFFERENCE IN THE BRAKE EFFECTIVENESS, WHICH CAUSES CONCERN FOR ME. I HAVE AN 2008 NISSAN ALTIMA 2.5 SE WITH ROUGHLY 56,000 MILES. I BOUGHT THIS CAR USED WITH ONLY 22K MILES ROUGHLY IN 2009 AND HAVE OTHER ISSUES WITH ELECTRICAL WORK IN THE RADIO. THE RADIO HAS ALREADY BEEN REPLACED BY THE DEALERSHIP WHEN IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY AND NOW IT IS HAPPENING AGAIN WHERE MY VOLUME DIAL DOESN'T TURN THE VOLUME UP OR DOWN IT LOCKS BETWEEN THREE VOLUME NUMBERS AND AT TIMES THE SCREEN FADES IN AND OUT. *TR
DASH IS STICKY AND MELTING/SECRETING A SUBSTANCE. SUBSTANCE WILL NOT WIPE OFF AND CAUSES AN EXTREME GLARE ON THE WINDSHIELD WHEN DRIVING DURING BRIGHT HOURS OF THE DAY. WITHOUT WEARING SUNGLASSES IT IS ALMOST ENTIRELY IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE THE ROAD CLEARLY DURING THESE CONDITIONS. I NEVER APPLIED ANY KIND OF CLEANERS/CHEMICALS TO IT. THIS IS SOME KIND OF FACTORY ISSUE. *TR
THE FRONT DASHBOARD IS MELTING. THERE IS A PUDDLE OF MELTED MATERIAL THAT REFLECTS LIGHT INTO THE DRIVERS EYES EFFECTING THE DRIVERS VISION. THE COMPANY REFUSES REPAIR THE PROBLEM STATING THE CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY. BELIEVE THE MATERIAL USED IN THE DASHBOARD IS DEFECTIVE AND SHOULD BE REPLACED BEYOND WARRANTY DATES AND MILEAGE. *TR
THE DASHBOARD OF MY CAR APPEARS TO BE MELTING. IT IS EXTREMELY STICKY AND CANNOT BE CLEANED. THE GLARE SOMETIMES IS UNBEARABLE. I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS PROBLEM BUT APPARENTLY, I'M NOT. I FEEL THIS SHOULD BE RECALLED AND REPAIRED. *TR
WHEN I WAS DRIVING IN A HIGH WAY. SUDDENLY MY CAR STARTED ACCELERATING MORE AND MORE. THEN I NOTICED I DID NOT HAVE SPEED CONTROL OF MY CAR. I TRIED TO STOP, THE CAR BUT IT DID NOT RESPOND . I BRAKED AS HARD AS I COULD WITHOUT SUCCESS. I AVOIDED TO CRASH OTHER VEHICLES GOING FROM RIGHT TO LEFT AND VICEVERSA. I GUESS I AVOID TO CRASH THREE OR FOUR VEHICLES, INCLUDING A BIG TRAILER. IN OTHER WORDS, IT HAPPENS TO ME LIKE THE LAST TOYOTA RECALL FOR GAS PEDAL ISSUES. I FELT LIKE THE GAS PEDAL WAS STUCK. FINALLY, MY CAR OUT OF CONTROL CRASHED OTHER CAR. *TR
THE MASTER CYLINDER FAILED. IT LEAKED FLUID ONTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER CAUSING THE BOOSTER TO FAIL. WHEN RELEASED, THE BRAKE PEDAL WOULD STAY DEPRESSED MOMENTARILY AND THEN POP UP ABRUPTLY AND THEN WHEN DEPRESSED AGAIN THE BRAKES WOULD GRAB. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT DURING A RAINSTORM, THE FRONT PASSENGER WINDOW COULD BE OPENED BUT WOULD NOT CLOSE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED BY THE DEALER THAT THE WINDOW REGULATOR WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED AT HER EXPENSE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER WHO OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE UNKNOWN.
I OWN A 2008 NISSAN ALTIMA THAT WAS HAVING BRAKE PROBLEMS. I HAD IT CHECKED OUT BY A MECHANIC AND HE FOUND THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER HAD BEEN LEAKING FLUID INTERNALLY. MY 2008 NISSAN ALTIMA COUPE DASH IS MELTING SEVERELY. I WOULD DESCRIBE THIS AS A TAR PIT, WHICH HAS SPREAD OVER HALF THE DASH. DURING THE DAY YOU SEE THIS MELTING DASH REFLECTING IN THE WHOLE WINDSHIELD, WHICH IS DANGEROUSLY OBSTRUCTING THE DRIVERS VIEW. ( SERIOUSLY ) !!!!!!!! AFTER ABOUT 3 YEARS THE DASH STARTED MELTING. IT GETS WORSE EACH YEAR. THE MATTE FINISH ON THE DASH IS NOW A STICKY, SHINY MESS THAT SHINES A BAD GLARE ON WINDSHIELD IN SUNLIGHT AND UNDER STREET LIGHTS. IT IS DIFFICULT TO SEE WHEN THE LIGHT HITS IT AT THE RIGHT (WRONG) ANGLE. SEVERAL OTHER PEOPLE HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS SAME ISSUE FOR THIS SAME YEAR/MAKE/MODEL. 2008 NISSAN ALTIMA COUPE. NISSAN WILL NOT FIX THE PROBLEM, OFFERED TO REPLACE FOR $1200 BUT THIS IS A PROBLEM THEY CREATED BY NISSAN CHOOSING POOR MATERIAL TO CONSTRUCT THE DASH. SOMEONE SHOULDN'T HAVE TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT BEFORE THIS PROBLEM IS ADDRESSED. NISSAN SHOULD RECALL AND FIX THE PROBLEM. *TR

THE FAILURE PROGRESSED OVER TIME UNTIL IT OCCURRED WHENEVER THE VEHICLE WAS IN OPERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO STATED THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS LEAKING BRAKE FLUID. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. CURRENTLY THERE WAS AN OPEN INVESTIGATION ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA ACTION NUMBER PE11020 (HYDRAULIC: FOUNDATION COMPONENTS: MASTER CYLINDER). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 26,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC, WHO INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WAS A CRACK IN THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD. THE MANUFACTURER WAS AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING A SERVICE APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALER FOR REPAIRS, SINCE IT WAS COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 39,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH HE ENGAGED THE BRAKES AND T-BONED THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF HIM. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND THE SEAT BELT SHOULDER RESTRAINT DID NOT RESTRAINT HIM DURING THE CRASH. HIS BREAST BONE WAS FRACTURED BY THE STEERING COLUMN AND HE WAS HOSPITALIZED FOR 24 HOURS. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DAMAGED ON THE RIGHT FRONT BUMPER, HEADLIGHTS, GRILL AND THERE WAS A DENT IN THE HOOD. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34,574 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 34,579. UPDATED 05/03/11*LJ
STEPPING ON BRAKE PEDAL INTERMITTENTLY FAILS TO ACTIVATE BRAKE-LIGHTS,WHICH ALSO INHIBITS STARTER.IF BRAKE LIGHTS DON'T WORK ONCE VEHICLE IS UNDERWAY THAT IS A SAFETY HAZARD. I HAVE BEEN REPAIRING THING FOR 50 YEARS AND AM 99.9% SURE THE PINS OF THE BRAKE PEDAL SWITCHES ARE HANGING UP INSIDE THE BORES,SINCE WEDGING SNOW SCRAPER AGAINST BRAKE PEDAL AND PUSHING PLUNGERS UNTIL THEY POPPED ALL THE WAY OUT ALLOWS STARTING. PHONING A NISSAN DEALER'S PARTS DEPARTMENT CONFIRMED AVAILABILITY THEN GAVE ME A PRICE OF $39.17 FOR SWITCH(ES). NOT LOOKING FORWARD TO HUNCHING UNDER THE DASH,I TALKED TO SERVICE TO FIND OUT HOW MUCH TO INSTALL.AN "IMPROVED BRAKE WIRING HARNESS"IS NEEDED FOR "RARE" OCCURRENCES AT COST OF $238 AND LABOR OF $149.WHEN I ASKED IF THIS MIGHT BE A RECALL OR UNDER WARRANTY HE SAID"COULD NOT MAKE ANY MONEY" THAT WAY. IF IT IS A DESIGN/CONSTRUCTION PROBLEM NISSAN SHOULD EAT THE COST.INTERNET SEARCH HAS SOME DEALER RECOMMENDING PUSHING HARDER ON PEDAL OR POUNDING-PULSING.SOME REPLACED SWITCHES SHOWED PITTING OF CONTACTS{TOO MUCH CURRENT TOO OFTEN?} DO DOZENS OF CARS HAVE TO GET REAR-ENDED BEFORE ACTION TAKES PLACE??????????????????????? "BRAKE" INDICATOR LIGHT BEGAN COMING ON INTERMITTENTLY WHILE DRIVING. TOOK THE CAR IN FOR SERVICE, FOUND OUT THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER IS LEAKING AND NEEDS REPLACED. VEHICLE IS A 2008 NISSAN ALTIMA AND ONLY HAS 41,000 MILES ON IT. VEHICLE WAS RECENTLY IN FOR MAINTENANCE SERVICE IN DECEMBER 2010, NO INDICATION OF PROBLEM WAS GIVEN FOLLOWING INSPECTION. *TR

MY NISSAN SHAKES AND FLUTTERS WHEN I TAKE OFF., I THINK THAT THERE IS A MAJOR DEFECT IN THESE NEW TRANSMISSIONS. THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP ASSURED ME THAT THIS WAS A NORMAL OPERATION. I'VE BEEN AROUND LONG ENOUGH TO KNOW THAT A CAR SHOULDNT HESITATE FROM 20-55 MPH.
MY NISSAN ALTIMA 2008 SEDAN HAS HAD SO MANY BRAKE PROBLEMS, I HAVE CHANGED PADS AND ROTORS AND WHAT NOT 7 TIMES SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR TWO YEARS AGO. I HAVE COMPLAINED TO NISSAN IN ORLAND PARK, IL AND I ALWAYS HERE THE SAME THING. THE ALTIMA DOES THAT! NOW AGAIN I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEMS. *TR
MY 2008 NISSAN ALTIMA MASTER BREAK CYLINDER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO A LEAK AFTER AROUND 60K MILES. BEFORE THE BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON THERE WAS A REDUCED BRAKING CAPACITY AND AT AROUND 35-40K MILES I BOUGHT NEW BRAKE PADS DUE TO THIS LOSS OF FLUID THINKING THE BRAKE PADS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. AFTER TAKING THE WHEELS OFF I FOUND THE PADS TO BE JUST FINE AND TOPPED OFF THE FLUID. I HAD NOTED THIS MANY TIMES WHEN I BROUGHT IT IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE BUT I WAS TOLD THE BRAKES WERE IN GOOD SHAPE. DURING ONE OF THE SCHEDULED MAINTENANCES' THE TECHNICIAN NOTICED THE LEAKING BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER. *KB

DASHBOARD MELTDOWN - CAUSING DANGEROUS GLARE WHEN DRIVING NISSAN STATES NOT APART OF RECALL? ?
2008 NISSAN ALTIMA WHERE THE DASHBOARD MATERIAL HAS FAILED. AS A RESULT, IT IS STICKY AND SHINNY, MOSTLY BY THE DASH VENTS. THE SHINNY HAS CREATED A GLARE THAT REFLECTS ONTO THE WINDSHIELD DURING DAYLIGHT DRIVING OBSCURING VISIBILITY. THIS REFLECTION HAS A CREATED A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE IT IMPEDES VISIBILITY WHILE DRIVING.
THE AIR BAG ON THE PASSENGER IS NOT WORKING. THE SEAT CUSHION OF THE SEAT IS THE PROBLEMS ( I WAS TOLD). THE CUSHION COST $900.00. THE AIRBAG HAS A DEFECT IN IT. I LOOKED ON THE WORLD WIDE WEB AND NOTICED SEVERAL COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME PROBLEM. THERE IS A RECALL ON SOME OF THE ALTIMA. THIS IS A BIG PROBLEMS. *TR
A ONE CAR WRECK OCCURRED WITH A 4 YR OLD IN A PROPER CHILD RESTRAINT IN BARTLETT, TN. THE CAR FLIPPED AND LANDED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. MY COMPLAINT IS THE FACT THAT THERE WAS A GRACO BOOSTER SEAT FOR A LAGER CHILD OF 6 IN THE CAR THAT WAS NOT IN USE. BECAUSE THERE IS NO WAY TO STRAP THIS DOWN SECURELY TO THE CAR THE BOOSTER SEAT THEN BECAME A PROJECTILE OBJECT AND HIT THE 4 YR OLD. A BETTER DESIGN IS NEEDED TO KEEP THESE NECESSARY OBJECTS THAT ARE NOT IN USE FROM BEING AN ADDITIONAL CAUSE OF TRAUMA DURING AN ACCIDENT. I THINK IT IS IN THE BEST INTEREST OF THE CAR SEAT COMPANIES AND THE FAMILIES WHO USE THESE PRODUCTS ON A DAILY BASIS TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE WITH THE UP-MOST IMPORTANCE. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THE KEYLESS IGNITION PUSH BUTTON START AND REMOTE KEYLESS FOB FAILED TO OPERATE APPROXIMATELY FOUR TIMES. IN ADDITION, BOTH KEY AND BATTERY WARNING SYMBOLS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL INTERMITTENTLY. THE CONTACT REPLACED TWO KEY FOB BATTERIES AND THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING WHERE THEY WERE UNABLE TO DETECT A FAILURE CODE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED WHICH RESULTED IN NO RESOLUTION. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
AS I GOT OFF THE INTERSTATE (DRIVING 60 MPH) THEN REDUCED MY SPEED TO 20 WHEN I TRIED TO ACCELERATE IT WOULDN'T GO!! IT WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AND MY RPM WOULD CLIMB UP TO 4 OR 5! I HAD TO DRIVE ALL THE WAY BACK HOME ON INTERSTATE DRIVING 20 MPG!!! IT'S HAPPENED ONLY WHEN I TRAVEL LONG DISTANCES!! I AM HIGHLY DISSATISFIED WITH THE ALTIMA! PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON OCCASIONALLY EVEN WITH AN ADULT SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. DEALER HAD REPLACED THE SENSOR BUT THE PROBLEM STILL OCCURS. THIS OCCURS ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS PROBABLY 2 TO 3 TIME A MONTH WHEN SEAT IS OCCUPIED. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED FOR THE SAFETY OF PASSENGERS IN THE VEHICLE. I DO NOT FEEL AT EASE WHEN SOMEONE SAYS THAT THE SYSTEM IS FUNCTIONING PROPERLY EVEN THOUGH THE LIGHT COMES ON. *TR
THE DASHBOARD WARNING LAMPS "DSC OFF", "SLIP" AND "BRAKE" INDICATOR SPORADICALLY WERE COMING ON. THE WARNING INDICATIONS BECAME MORE FREQUENT. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER, AND THEY SAID IT IS THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER LEAKING BRAKE FLUID INTO THE VACUUM BOOSTER. SINCE THE LEAK IS CONTAINED IN THE VEHICLE, THE LEAK IS NOT APPARENT ON THE GROUND. IF BRAKE FLUID GETS TOO LOW, TOTAL LOSS OF BRAKES COULD RESULT IN A CRASH. THE REPLACEMENT MASTER CYLINDER IS BACK ORDERED, AND MAY TAKE WEEKS TO ARRIVE. INTERNET RESEARCH SHOWS THAT THE LEAKING MASTER CYLINDER IS A VERY COMMON DEFECT. VEHICLE ONLY HAS 30K MILES.
BRAKE LIGHT KEPT COMING ON AND OFF FOR A WEEK OR SO. TOOK IT TO THE NISSAN DEALER WHERE I BOUGHT IT AND THEY SAID IT WAS MASTER CYLINDER LEAKING. THEY HAVE TO WAIT ON PART BECAUSE IT IS ON BACKORDER. *TR
REQUIRED TO REPLACE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER DUE TO LEAKAGE OF FLUID. THE BRAKES BEGAN NOT WORKING PROPERLY AND THE BAKE ALERT LIGHT CAME ON. THIS IS CERTAINLY NOT A COMPONENT THAT SHOULD MALFUNCTION AT THIS LOW MILEAGE! THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM ON THE INTERNET(FORUMS-BLOGS) AND WARNINGS ABOUT BUYING THE 08 ALTIMA. NISSAN HAS RECALLED OTHER MODELS FOR THIS PROBLEM BUT THE ALTIMA IS NOT INCLUDED. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A MANUFACTURING FAILURE AND NISSAN SHOULD BE STANDING BACK OF THEIR PRODUCT!! BRAKE PROBLEMS POSE A GREAT DANGER TO PEOPLES LIVES. THERE MAY NOT HAVE BEEN ANY DEATHS ASSOCIATED WITH THIS PROBLEM, BUT IS THAT WHAT HAS TO HAPPEN? IN THIS ECONOMY WOUNDING OUR WALLETS IS HARMFUL. BETWEEN THE INTERNET AND CONSUMER REPORTS NISSAN WILL HOPEFULLY PAY FOR NOT VOLUNTARILY STEPPING UP AND TAKING CARE OF THEIR INFERIOR MANUFACTURING IN A COMPETITIVE MARKET.

MY 2008 NISSAN ALTIMA COUPE'S DASHBOARD IS MELTING. THE MATERIAL USED FOR THE DASHBOARD SEEMS TO BE INFERIOR AND IT CANNOT ACCOMMODATE THE WEATHER IN FL. THE WHOLE DASHBOARD IS STICKY AND LOOKS WET. I GOT MY NISSAN 2 YEARS AGO AS A GRADUATION PRESENT FROM MY PARENTS. I HAVE NEVER BEEN IN A CAR ACCIDENT OR RAN INTO ANYTHING EVER FROM DRIVING ANY CAR. ONE DAY I WAS DRIVING ON A COUNTRY ROAD, WITH NO SHOULDERS, NEAR WHERE I LIVE AND I WENT AROUND A SHARP TURN AND WENT OFF THE ROAD A LITTLE BIT BUT THEN CORRECTED MYSELF AND GOT BACK ONTO THE ROAD. ONCE I GOT BACK ONTO THE ROAD MY CAR WENT OUT OF CONTROL. THE STEERING WHEEL STARTED TURNING TO THE LEFT AND RIGHT UNCONTROLLABLY AND I PRESSED ON THE BRAKES AND THE CAR STARTED SLIDING AND SPINNING OUT OF CONTROL FROM THE WHEEL TURNING. THE CAR THEN WENT TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ROAD FROM THE SPINNING AND FLIPPED OVER! I HAD TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL BUT I WASN'T SERIOUSLY INJURED AND THANK GOD NO ONE ELSE WAS IN THE CAR WITH ME BECAUSE THEY MOST LIKELY WOULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED BECAUSE WHEN THE CAR FLIPPED OVER THE PASSENGER SIDE WAS THE SIDE THAT HAD THE MOST DAMAGE, ETC. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY MADE REPAIRS TO THE PASSENGER AIR BAG SENSOR BUT TO NO AVAIL. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE CORRECT REPAIRS WERE MADE TO THE VEHICLE AND THE AIR BAG WAS NOT FUNCTIONING BECAUSE THE PASSENGERS WERE NOT SEATED IN THE SEAT CORRECTLY. THERE WERE NO FURTHER REPAIRS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 27,000.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 32,000.

2008 NISSAN ALTIMA 2.5- I HAVE BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP OVER 9 TIMES WITH BRAKE ISSUES AND HAD MY MASTER CYLINDER REPLACED ONCE ALREADY IN 2009 UNDER WARRANTY. MY BRAKE LIGHT HAS BEEN TURNING ON DURING ACCELERATION AND OFF WHEN BRAKE IS APPLIED. I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TODAY AND WAS TOLD THE MASTER CYLINDER HAS TO BE REPLACED AGAIN AND THE CAR IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY AND THE WORK IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY DUE TO 12,000 MILE AGREEMENT. OBVIOUSLY, SOMETHING IS SERIOUSLY WRONG HERE. I'M ON THE 3RD MASTER CYLINDER IN 2 AND 1/2 YEARS. THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL FOR THIS CYLINDER; MANY PEOPLE ARE COMPLAINING OF THE SAME PROBLEM. *TR
