I BOUGHT MY VEHICLE IN AUGUST OF 2010. IN OCTOBER WE WERE ON OUR WAY TO FLORIDA, AND AT THE END OF A FULL DAY OF TRAVEL, APROX 6 HOURS- WE EXITED I95 IN VIRGINIA TO GO TO OUR HOTEL. WHEN WE CAME TO A STOP SIGN AT THE BOTTOM OF THE RAMP, WE ATTEMPTED TO CROSS A STATE ROAD TO GET TO OUR HOTEL. WHEN I DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR THE CAR BARELY MOVED AND WE WERE ALMOST T-BONED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. WE GOT TO THE HOTEL AND AFTER A NIGHTS REST THE CAR SEEMED FINE, BUT THE CAR DID THE EXACT SAME THING THE NEXT NIGHT. WHEN WE GOT TO FLORIDA THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO FIND ANYTHING WRONG AND COULDN'T OFFER A SOLUTION. ON THE TRIP BACK TO NY THIS SPRING THE SAME PROBLEM OCCURRED EVERY DAY AFTER A LONG DRIVE, EVEN THOUGH WE MADE REST STOPS DURING THE DAY. I FEEL THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION, NOT BEING ABLE TO ACCELERATE TO AVOID A POTENTIAL ACCIDENT AND DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE.
'09 ALTIMA WOULD NOT START. SECOND OCCURRENCE IN ONE WEEK. JUMPED CAR AND TOOK IT TO GETTEL SARASOTA, FL NISSAN DEALERSHIP. DIAGNOSIS - FAULTY "BRAKE SWITCH", NEEDED TO START KEYLESS IGNITION THEY TOLD ME IT WAS A "COMMON" PROBLEM WITH THESE CARS. REPLACED PART AND NO PROBLEMS SINCE. KEEPING MY FINGERS CROSSED. MY SO HAS A '07 ALTIMA, AND EXPERIENCED THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM THE SAME WEEK IN NAPLES, FL. MINE WAS COVERED BY WARRANTY, BUT HE HAD TO PAY FOR A NEW PART. GO FIGURE! I BELIEVE THIS TO BE A SERIOUS PROBLEM AND SHOULD CAUSE A RECALL. ( NO OLD PARTS AVAILABLE, TO MY KNOWLEDGE.) *TR
2010 NISSAN ALTIMA COUPE PURCHASED THE CAR IN SEPTEMBER 2010. HAVE TAKEN THE CAR IN FOR SERVICE AT NISSAN QUALITY OF TEMECULA FOR MULTIPLE ISSUES. THE FIRST ISSUE IS THE AIR BAG LIGHT GOES ON STATING THAT THE AIR BAG IS TURNED OFF AND THIS IS WHEN THERE IS AN ADULT OF 200 POUNDS SITTING IN THE PASSANGER'S SEAT. I AM VERY CONCERNED OF OUR SAFETY IN THE CASE OF AN ACCIDENT.THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE AND I AM NOT CONVINCED THAT IF THERE IS AN ACCIDENT THE AIR BAG WILL GO OFF. THE TRANSMISSION IS ALSO GIVING US PROBLEMS.CAR IS STALLING AND JERKING WHILE DRIVING. THE MASTER WARNING LIGHT IS ALSO COMING ON AND I'M NOT SURE IF THIS IS RELATED TO THE AIRBAG NOT WORKING CORRECTLY. THE CAR HAS BEEN TAKEN IN SEVERAL TIMES SINCE SEPTEMBER AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE. NISSAN WAS OKAY WITH US LEAVING THE LOT KNOWING THAT THE AIR BAGS WERE NOT WORKING CORRECTLY. *TR
I PURCHASED MY 2010 NISSAN ALTIMA NEW AT THE DEALERSHIP IN APRIL 2010. AROUND 7K MILES IS WHEN I FIRST NOTICED THE PROBLEM. WHEN I AM ACCELERATING, BETWEEN 20-35 MPH MY CAR MAKES A LOUD NOSE AND HITS BETWEEN 4000-5000 RPMS, BUT IT FEELS LIKE IT IS LOSING POWER AND IS VERY SLOW TO SPEED UP. ONCE I HIT OVER 50MPH IT GETS BETTER. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO 2 DIFFERENT NISSAN DEALERSHIPS AND THEY SAY THEY CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. AS A SANITY CHECK, I HAVE ASKED 3 OTHER PEOPLE TO DRIVE MY CAR AND THEY ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME THING I AM. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS WHEN TURNING LEFT AT AN UNPROTECTED LIGHT OR TURNING RIGHT INTO TRAFFIC. I GOOGLED THIS AND SEE MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE EXACT SAME ISSUE WITH THE YEAR AND MODEL. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PUSH BUTTON AUTOMATIC START IGNITION WOULD NOT OPERATE WHEN ENGAGED. THE ENGINE FAILED TO START AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE REMAINED AT THE DEALER FOR FURTHER INVESTIGATION. THE CONTACT HAD SIGNIFICANT CONCERNS WITH THE POTENTIAL SAFETY HAZARD INVOLVED WITH THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,000.
THE LIGHT INDICATING "AIRBAG OFF" FOR THE PASSENGER SEAT IS FREQUENTLY ILLUMINATED EVEN WHEN AN ADULT (140 LB) PASSENGER IS SITTING IN THE SEAT. THE OCCURRENCE IS APPROXIMATELY 10 PERCENT OF THE TIME AND OCCURS AT ANY SPEED, EVEN ON THE HIGHWAY AT 65 MPH. THIS ERROR HAS PERSISTED THROUGHOUT THE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE (PURCHASED NEW IN 2010), BUT THE DEALERSHIPS WE VISITED INSIST THAT THE SYSTEM COMPLIES WITH THEIR ELECTRICAL TESTS, EVEN THOUGH WE SHOWED THEM PHOTOGRAPHS OF THE "AIRBAG OFF" LIGHT TAKEN BY A PASSENGER WHILE SITTING IN THIS SEAT. NISSAN NEEDS TO BE MADE TO ISSUE A RECALL TO CORRECT THIS LIFE-THREATENING ERROR. *TR
AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHEN THE CONTACT ENGAGED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL THE VEHICLE MOVED VERY SLOWLY. THIS HAPPENED SPORADICALLY AND IT ALSO OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED INDICATING ANY TYPE OF FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE BUT COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. AFTER RUNNING A DIAGNOSTIC TEST ON THE TRANSMISSION FAULTY CODES WERE DETECTED INDICATING THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND INFORMED THEM OF THE FAILURE BUT WAS TOLD THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS ON BACK ORDER. THEY ALSO ARE NOT SURE WHEN THEY WILL RECEIVE THE TRANSMISSION TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000.
I OWN A 2010 NISSAN ALTIMA, BOUGHT IN JANUARY OF THIS YEAR. I WAS REAR-ENDED TODAY BY A LARGE PICKUP TRUCK WHICH FORCED ME TO HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME AS WELL AND MY AIR BAG NEVER DEPLOYED. MY FACE ACTUALLY JUST TOUCHED MY STEERING WHEEL! I CALLED MY DEALERSHIP AND THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT TOLD ME THAT UNLESS THE CAR IS HIT IN PRECISELY THE RIGHT POINT NEAR A SENSOR THE AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY!! I HAVE NEVER HEARD SUCH A STUPID EXCUSE AND AM SERIOUSLY CONSIDERING IF MY CAR GETS "TOTALED" OF GOING WITH A DIFFERENT MAKE - NOT NISSAN! I CAN ONLY IMAGINE IF ONE OF MY GRANDCHILDREN HAD BEEN IN THE CAR. I WENT TO THE HOSPITAL TO BE CHECKED OUT AND THANKFULLY I AM "OK" ALTHOUGH MY BACK IS IN PAIN AS WELL AS MY NECK! THEY SAID I MAY HAVE TO RETURN FOR AN MRI IF IT GETS WORSE. *TR
IT OCCURRED TO ME IN JULY 2010. CAR WAS 7 MONTHS OLD WITH MILEAGE OF ~7,000 KM. THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH ACCELERATION - WITH ACCELERATION PEDAL FULLY DEPRESSED ENGINE WAS REVVING UP TO ~2,200 RPM AND CAR BARELY ACCELERATED LIKE IT WAS SLIPPAGE IN THE TRANSMISSION. SWITCHING TO SPORT OR MANUAL MODES WAS NOT EFFECTIVE. THERE IS "HIGH FLUID TEMPERATURE PROTECTION MODE" DESCRIBED IN MANUAL, BUT THERE IS NO WARNING LIGHT/CHIME THAT TRANSMISSION ENTERS THIS MODE. DRIVER NOT BEING AWARE OF VERY LIMITED ACCELERATION CAN FIND HIMSELF IN VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION LEADING TO FATAL ACCIDENT, E.G. WHEN PULLING OUT IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. IT OCCURRED SEVERAL TIMES, NEVER ANY WARNING LIGHT WAS ON. FINALLY TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED, BUT UNTIL NOW (JANUARY 2011) NISSAN DID NOT ADMIT THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM AND DID NOT TAKE ANY PREVENTIVE ACTION. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE BRAKES AND TRANSMISSION FAILED. THERE WERE NO LIGHTS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL, BUT THE BRAKES SEIZED AND THE VEHICLE SLID AND EXPERIENCED AN INCREASED STOPPING DISTANCE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ONCE THAT HAPPENED, THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. THE CONTACT RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND THE VEHICLE FUNCTIONED NORMALLY. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND THEY STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE WERE UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND THEY DID NOT RESPOND. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
AFTER DRIVING FOR EXTENDED PERIODS OF TIME (2 HOURS OR MORE) ON THE INTERSTATE, THE VEHICLE HAS DIFFICULTY RECOVERING FROM A STOP. I ACCELERATE TO MOVE FORWARD AND THE VEHICLE HESITATES. WHEN IT REACHES ABOUT 2000 RPMS, IT ACCELERATES OUT OF CONTROL. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHO COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THEY OFFERED FOR ME TO BRING IT IN WHEN I AM GETTING OFF THE INTERSTATE, BUT I HAD TO STOP BEFORE I ARRIVED AT THE DEALERSHIP. THIS OCCURRED AROUND 700 MILES. WHEN I'M AT STOP LIGHTS I DON'T PANIC, BUT THIS IS UNSAFE FOR INTERSTATE DRIVING. NISSAN WILL NOT REPLACE MY TRANSMISSION UNDER THE WARRANTY AS THEY CANNOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE. *TR

WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH WITH THE PASSENGER SEAT OCCUPIED WHEN THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED INDICATING THAT THE AIR BAG WAS OFF. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WOULD OCCUR INTERMITTENTLY WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS NORMAL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 3,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PUSH-TO-START BUTTON FAILED TO RESPOND. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE ABS AND THE SLP WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WOULD START AFTER MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS OR THE VEHICLE WOULD HAVE TO RECEIVE A JUMP START TO THE BATTERY FROM ANOTHER VEHICLE IN ORDER TO START PROPERLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE BRAKE AND THE PARK LIGHT SWITCH FAILED. AS A RESULT THE WIRING HARNESS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100.
MY BRAND NEW NISSAN ALTIMA A/C STOP WORKING JUST FOR NOT REASON AFTER DRIVING IT FOR LIKE 20 MINUTES BUT I THOUGHT WAS ALRIGHT THE OUT OF NOWHERE THE ENGINE START TO OVERHEAT ALL THE WAY TO THE H, MY CAR IS AN BRAND NEW ALTIMA 2.5 S 4 CYLINDERS AND I JUST BOUGHT IT ON MAY 12TH, IN KAILUA KONA HAWAII (WWW.KONAAUTO.COM), I GOT SCARED BECAUSE WAS TOO HOT AND IT COULD BURNT SOMEONE ELSE FACE OR EVEN BLOW OUT, IT HAPPENED ALREADY 2 TIMES, THEY SAID THAT IS A BELT BUT NO CAR WITH ALMOST 700 MILES ON IT HEATS UP OUT OF NOTHING. I WOULD ACTUALLY GUYS LIKE YOU TO PUT ATTENTION TO ALL THE REVIEWS CUZ PEOPLE IS COMPLAINING ABOUT THE A/C IN ALTIMAS 2010, ALSO THERE IS A NOISE EVERY SINGLE TIME THAT I TURN THE CAR ON LIKE WATER RUNNING IN THE DASH. *TR
MY 2010 ALTIMA 2.5S HAS POOR ACCELERATION AFTER COMING TO A STOP. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS, ESPECIALLY WHEN MAKING LEFT HANDED TURNS IN FRONT OF ON-COMING TRAFFIC. I WOULD PRESS THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND THE CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE QUICKLY, IT'S ALMOST LIKE A HESITATION OR BOGG. THIS ISSUE IS WORSE WHEN THE A/C IS ON. NISSAN HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL, BUT THEY REALLY NEED TO, BECAUSE THERE ARE MANY OTHER NISSAN ALTIMA OWNERS WITH THE CVT TRANSMISSION THAT ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE. I ALSO OWN A 95 ALTIMA AND HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED AN ISSUE LIKE THIS, QUITE FRANKLY I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED AND CONCERNED WITH MY 2010 ALTIMA PURCHASE BECAUSE OF THIS POOR ACCELERATION ISSUE. *TR
I HAVE A 2010 ALTIMA BOUGHT IN MARCH 2010 THAT HAS STARTED TO JERK WHILE IT IS BEING DRIVEN. MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALER HAS HAD THE CAR FOR TWO WEEKS TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT IS WRONG. THEY ACKNOWLEDGE THAT SOMETHING IS DEFINITELY WRONG WITH THE CAR AND IT IS NOT DRIVING NORMAL BUT AFTER TALKING TO NISSAN TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AND TRYING TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM I JUST RECEIVED A CALL THAT STATES THAT THEIR ENGINEER SAID THAT THE PROBLEM I'M EXPERIENCING IS NORMAL AND THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. THE PROBLEM IS CONTINUING TO GET WORSE AND NOW I'M WORRIED THAT WHILE DRIVING THE ENGINE COULD LOSE POWER. I DO NOT FEEL THAT CONTINUING TO DRIVE MY CAR IN THIS CONDITION IS SAFE. THE CAR DID NOT HAVE THESE COMPLICATIONS WHEN I BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW SO I'M SURE THIS ISN'T A NORMAL CONDITION. MY MOTHER HAS THE SAME CAR BOUGHT TWO DAYS AFTER I BOUGHT MINE AND IT DOES NOT HAVE THIS CONDITION. CAR IS ALL OVER THE ROAD WHEN SPEED REACHES 70 MPH OR MORE. FEELS LIKE YOUR DRIVING IN A HURRICANE WHEN THERE'S NO WIND AT ALL PRESENT. BROUGHT THIS TO NISSAN'S ATTENTION, BUT THEY SAID NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THE CAR. ALSO POINTED OUT THAT THERE ARE NO CHIMES TO ALERT/REMIND YOU OF PUTTING ON SEAT BELTS. WHEN CAR IS IN MOTION, PASSENGER CAN UNDO SEATBELT AND NO WARNING CHIME WILL OCCUR. AGAIN, NISSAN SAID THIS IS NORMAL FOR THEIR CAR. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE RENTED THE VEHICLE AND WHILE DRIVING IN A FLASH FLOOD. THE VEHICLE WAS SWEPT INTO WATER AND SUBMERGED. ALL OF THE POWER IN THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF AND THERE WAS NO WAY TO OPEN THE DOORS OR WINDOWS FROM THE INSIDE. THE CONTACT CALLED THE POLICE AND WAS ADVISED TO PUSH ON THE BRAKE, SHIFT INTO PARK AND THE DOORS WOULD UNLOCK; HOWEVER, WHEN SHE PERFORMED THE PROCDURE, THE DOORS DID NOT UNLOCK. A BYSTANDER OPENED THE FRONT DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE. NONE OF THE OTHER DOORS WOULD OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE. ONE OF THE PASSENGERS SUFFERED A BACK INJURY. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE UNKNOWN. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT.
2010 NISSAN ALTIMA 2.5SL HAS BEEN EXPERIENCING VIBRATION THROUGH THE STEERING WHEEL, ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND DRIVERS SEAT WHEN DRIVING ON HIGHWAYS ABOVE 60MPH. I HAD THE TIRES REBALANCED, ROTATED AND AN INDEPENDENT SHOP WHEEL ALIGNMENT TO NO AVAIL. THE TIRES ARE SHOWING A CHOPPY OR FEATHERING WEAR PATTERN. THIS VIBRATION BEGAN SOON AFTER PURCHASE AFTER THE BREAK IN PERIOD. THE VEHICLE CURRENTLY HAS UNDER 8,000 MILES ON IT. THE DEALER CLAIMS THAT THEY CANNOT DUPLICATE THE CONDITION EVEN THOUGH IT IS CONSTANTLY FELT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE ABNORMALLY ACCELERATED WHILE PULLING INTO AN UPHILL PARKING SPOT AT SPEEDS OF 5 MPH. THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A LARGE CEMENT PILLAR AND CAME TO A STOP. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE BODYSHOP AND REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WERE 850. UPDATED 06/25/10 UPDATED 07/27/10*JB THE CONSUMER STATED THERE WAS ABNORMAL ACCELERATION, DUE TO ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL, OR DRIVE BY WIRE. THERE WERE NO CODES. UPDATED 09/15/10
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE TRAVELING AT SPEEDS OF 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN ABRUPTLY VEERING TO THE RIGHT WITHOUT DRIVER INTENT. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE; HOWEVER; THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME HARD AND RESISTANT TO DRIVER INPUT. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO MOVE THE STEERING IN EITHER DIRECTION. THE VEHICLE THEN SPUN OUT OF CONTROL AND PROCEEDED TO CRASH INTO A CEMENT WALL. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY ON IMPACT. THE POLICE ARRIVED AND A REPORT WAS FILED AT THE SCENE ACCORDINGLY. THE DRIVER SUFFERED FROM MINOR INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP. SHE WAS ADVISED THAT THE FRONT SUSPENSION AND TIRES WERE DAMAGED. THERE WERE NO REPAIRS MADE TO THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT INQUIRED ABOUT A RECALL CAMPAIGN ON THE SUSPENSION BUT UPON CONTACTING THE MANUFACTURER, WAS INFORMED THAT HIS VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE CAMPAIGN (NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 09V358000: SUSPENSION). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 2,800.
AFTER A HARD APPLICATION OF THE BRAKES (ABS ACTIVATES) AND STOP, THE VEHICLE FAILS TO ACCELERATE AT A NORMAL RATE OF SPEED. PUSHING THE ACCELERATOR TO THE FLOOR DOES NOT INCREASE THE SPEED OF THE VEHICLE. THERE IS A DELAY BEFORE THE VEHICLE WILL ACCELERATE NORMALLY. PASSENGER AIR BAG IS OFF WHEN SOMEBODY IS SIT ON THE PASSENGER SIT SOMETIMES IS ON AND OFF I TOOK MY CAR FOR CHECK UP TO THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THERE IS NOT PROBLEM CODES IN COMPUTER BUT THE CAR CONTINUES WITH THE PROBLEM BUT I ASKED ANOTHER PEOPLE AND THEY HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WE NEED HELP BECAUSE THIS DANGEROUS IN A CRASH. *TR
DASHBOARD IS "MELTING." THIS IS CAUSING WINDSHIELD GLARE CREATING A VISIBILITY HAZARD.
2010 NISSAN ALTIMA S (PURCHASED NEW 12/7/09) AND AS PART OF THE INCENTIVE TO BUY THE VEHICLE, THE DEALERSHIP HAD AFTER MARKET LEATHER INSTALLED AND FROM THERE THE PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN NON-STOP. AT THIS POINT, I BELIEVE THE PROBLEM IS ELECTRICAL. I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR NEARLY 10 TIMES (ONE BEING TODAY) IN THE PAST 15 MONTHS FOR SERVICE AND WAS PLACED IN LOANER CARS AT LEAST 4 TIMES DUE TO THE PROBLEMS. THE PASSENGER SEAT AIR BAG NOT WORKING AND TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT SPORADICALLY COMES ON BOTH BLINKING AND/OR A CONSTANT. MY ENTIRE SEAT WAS REPLACED AND STILL THE AIR BAG LIGHT TAKES UP TO 5 MINUTES SOMETIMES (IT VARIES) TO TURN OFF INDICATING SOMEONE IS IN THE SEAT. I HAVE DRIVEN UP TO 4 MILES WITH MY PASSENGER BEING UNPROTECTED. THE DEALERSHIP, TODAY SAYS THIS IS NORMAL. THE TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT HAS CAME OFF AND ON SINCE THE CAR WAS PURCHASED WITH NOTHING FOUND TO BE WRONG EACH TIME, EXCEPT ONCE, THEY SAID I HAD A NAIL IN MY TIRE AND THEY PLUGGED IT. I HAVE NEVER SEEN THE REPAIR WORK AND LOOKED VERY WELL... THIS PAST WEEKEND, I VACUUMED MY ENTIRE CAR (MEANING EACH DOOR HAD BEEN OPENED AND SHUT) TAKING APPROX 15 MINUTES. WHEN I GOT IN THE VEHICLE AND TRIED TO START IT THE SHIFT WAS LOCKED AND THE CAR WOULD NOT START. ALL LIGHTS STARTED BLINKING AND THEN COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN. IT WOULD SHOW "ON" ON THE START BUTTON WHILE NOT RUNNING. I WAS JUMP STARTED AND THEN INSTANTLY THE TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT BLINKED FOR ONE MINUTE THEN STAYED CONSTANT. THE AIR BAG SENSOR TOOK EVEN LONGER TO WORK. OF COURSE, WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TODAY, NOTHING WAS WRONG--BATTERY WAS GOOD--AIR BAGS ARE GOOD; HOWEVER, THEY DID CONFIRM LOW TIRE PRESSURE IN ONE TIRE... I TRULY BELIEVE IT IS AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM AND THE COMPANY IS NOT STANDING BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT. I AM BEYOND FRUSTRATED AND TRULY DISHEARTEN BY NISSAN AND THEIR LACK OF CONCERN FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS' SAFETY AND WELL BEING. *TR
2010 NISSAN ALTIMA MAKING A LOUD CLUNK NOISE. CONSUMER STATES THE NOISE HAPPENS ONLY WHEN IT'S COLD OUTSIDE, THE VEHICLE IS COLD, AND AT SPEEDS 30 MPH AND LESS. *KB THE CONSUMER STATED THE NOISE WAS SO BAD, IT FELT AS THOUGH THE VEHICLE WAS GOING TO STALL. THE CONSUMER ALSO STATED IT FELT AS THOUGH THE TRANSMISSION WAS SLIPPING. THE VEHICLE WOULD DRAG/SPUTTER. THE SLIPPING WAS SOMETIMES ACCOMPANIED BY A RATTLING NOISE COMING FROM THE UNDERBODY WHICH LASTED FOR 3-4 SECONDS. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEMS THE CONSUMER EXPERIENCED. *JB
