TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT ALL THE WHEELS WERE BLISTERING ON THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE RIMS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE REAR PASSENGER RIM WAS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22,000. UPDATED 5/19/15*CN THE CONSUMER STATED THE ALLOY WHEELS CONTINUED TO BLISTER. THE WORST ONE WAS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER REFUSED TO ASSIST WITH REPAIRS. UPDATED 11/19/15 *JS
2010 NISSAN ALTIMA. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE TIRE FAILURE. *SMD ON JUNE 12, 2012, THE CONSUMER HAD FOUR NEW MICHELIN TIRES INSTALLED ON THE VEHICLE. HOWEVER, AROUND MARCH 2013, HE NOTICED THE TIRES WERE CRACKING AND SPLITTING . AT THE TIME, THE TIRES ONLY HAD 5500 MILES OF WEAR ON THEM. THE CONSUMER RETURNED TO THE RETAILER, WHERE THE TIRES WERE PURCHASED AND THEY ORDERED NEW TIRES. SEVERAL WEEKS LATER, THE CONSUMER NOTICED THE NEW TIRES WERE CRACKING AGAIN. THE CONSUMER RETURNED TO THE RETAILER AGAIN, AND THEY WERE REPLACED. THE CONSUMER RETURNED TO THE RETAILER AGAIN ON MAY 30, 2013, BECAUSE THE REPLACEMENT TIRES WERE ALSO CRACKING AND SPLITTING. THE RETAILER INFORMED THE CONSUMER, THERE WAS NOTHING ELSE THEY COULD, AND ADVISED HIM TO CONTACT MICHELIN. WHEN THE CONSUMER CONTACTED MICHELIN, HE WAS INFORMED THERE WAS A SIX YEAR DEFECT WITH THE TIRES AND ADVISED THE CONSUMER TO TAKE THE VEHICLE AND TIRES TO A MICHELIN REPRESENTATIVE. THE CONSUMER WAS GIVEN TWO PLACES TO GO AND A REFERENCE NUMBER. MICHELIN AGREED TO PAY 60% OF THE COST TOWARD NEW TIRES.
I PUT AIR INTO THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE TIRE OF MY 2010 NISSAN ALTIMA AND THE TIRE CENSOR BROKE WHILE DOING SO. I TOOK THE CAR TO DAVE'S NISSAN OF JACKSON TO BE FIXED, WHEN THEY LATER INFORMED ME THE CENSOR WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE DESIGN OF THE TIRE STEM SHOULD BE LOOKED AT SO THE CENSOR BREAKING DOES NOT HAPPEN TO PEOPLE IN THE FUTURE THAT ATTEMPT TO PUT AIR INTO THEIR TIRES. NISSAN IS UNWILLING TO COOPERATE WITH ME ON THIS ISSUE SO I HAD TO TAKE MATTERS INTO MY OWN HANDS AND CONTACT DOT FOR ASSISTANCE WITH THIS MATTER. *TR
I BOUGHT A 2010 NISSAN ALTIMA FROM PITTSBURGH EAST NISSAN IN MONROEVILLE, PA. AFTER 14,000 MILES THE TIRES WERE WORN OUT. I COMPLAINED BUT I WAS TOLD BECAUSE THEY WERE PERFORMANCE TIRES THAT WAS ABOUT RIGHT ON THE MILEAGE. I COMPLAINED SOME MORE AND THEY SAID THAT THEY WOULD GIVE ME A 50% DISCOUNT ON THE TIRES BUT ONLY IF I BOUGHT THE SAME ONES. I GOT TIRES FROM ANOTHER PLACE AND WILL NOT BE GETTING ANY OTHER CARS FROM THIS DEALERSHIP. *TR
