The contact was able to drive the vehicle to her residence and then had it towed to the dealer. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle with rear brakes and caliper failure. The rear brakes and calipers were replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 153,242.
THE CAR WAS STATIONARY IN THE DRIVEWAY, WITH WHEEL WEDGES PLACED AT FRONT TIRES. IT WAS JACKED UP THE REAR DRIVER SIDE TIRE WAS REMOVED TO PUT ON NEW BRAKES, ONLY TO FIND A BOLT HOLDING THE CALIPER ON TO THE BRACKET WAS BROKE OFF. THIS WARRANTS A GREAT SAFETY CONCERN. DO ALL THE OTHER ONES HAVE TO BE CHANGED?- IN ORDER TO PREVENT A SAFETY HAZARD.
PURCHASED USED 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA 2.5 SL WITH APPROXIMATELY 65,606 MILES. JUNE 2016, AT 65,606 MILES, AUTO DEALER MECHANIC RESURFACED FRONT ROTORS AND REPLACED FRONT AND REAR BRAKES. AT APPROXIMATELY 65, 650 MILES BRAKES/ROTORS BEGAN TO THUMP. DEALER MECHANIC RESURFACED FRONT LEFT ROTOR. AT APPROXIMATELY 92,799 MILES, BRAKES BEGAN TO SQUEAL. SECOND MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO FIND PROBLEM. AT 96,052 MILES THIRD MECHANIC EXPERIENCED BRAKES SQUEALING AND RESURFACED ALL FOUR ROTORS. HOWEVER, BRAKES BEGAN TO SQUEAL AFTER RESURFACING. AT APPROXIMATELY 97,192 MILES, A FOURTH MECHANIC REPLACED FRONT ROTORS AND FRONT AND BACK BRAKES. AT APPROXIMATELY 105,139 MILES BRAKES BEGAN TO SQUEAL. 5TH MECHANIC REPLACED THE FRONT BRAKES.
I OWN A NISSAN ALTIMA 2013, AND SADLY I'VE MORE PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE THAN ANY OTHER I EVER OWNED. THE ENGINE STALLS WHEN IN NOTION AND STATIONERY. SOMETIMES IT TAKES MULTIPLE TRIES TO EVEN GET IT STARTED. THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES ON THE BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE BROKE AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE AIR BAG SENSORS HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE HOOD LATCH HAD TO BE REPLACED. AND THE BACK BRAKES HAVE BEEN CHANGED THREE TIMES AND IT S STILL HAS A AWFUL LENGTHY SQUEAK WHICH IS VERY EMBARRASSING. SO SAY THE LEAST THIS IS VERY DISAPPOINTING CONSIDERING I'M STILL PAYING OVER THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS A MONTH FOR A CAR NOT AND STILL HAVE TO COME OUT OF POCKET FOR REPAIRS THAT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY SUPPOSEDLY DOES NOT COVER. VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS PURCHASE. ALL OF THESE ISSUES HAVE HAPPENED OVER TIME AND I'M STILL HAVING ISSUES TO THIS DAY.
THE DASHBOARD BRAKE WARNING LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON WHEN DRIVING & REMAINS ON UNTIL CAR IS TURNED OFF AND THEN RESTARTED. IT HAS OCCURRED MULTIPLE TIMES WHETHER SLOWING (FOOT ON BRAKE), GOING UP OR DOWNHILL, DRIVING ON FREEWAY, OR AFTER STOPPING FOR A LIGHT. HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES STARTING WHEN CAR WAS 3 MONTHS OLD. NISSAN DEALER SAYS COMPUTER ANALYSIS SHOWS INCIDENT OCCURS BUT COMPUTER DOESN'T SHOW WHY.
MY BRAKES AND ROTORS HAVE BEEN REPLACED THREE TIMES WITHIN A SIX-WEEK PERIOD. AFTER EACH REPLACEMENT, SQUEALING AND GRINDING SOUNDS CONTINUED. EACH REPLACEMENT RESULTED IN A UPGRADE OF BRAKE PADS TO TAKE CARE OF THE LOUDNESS OF THE SQUEALS. REPLACEMENT WAS DONE BY THE SAME SHOP. THE SQUEALS AND GRINDING NOISES OCCUR WHENEVER I PUSH THE BRAKES TO STOP OR PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE TO BACKUP. FOR THE LAST REPLACEMENT OF BRAKE PADS, I WAS TOLD TO DRIVE THE CAR FOR AT LEAST 100 MILES AND THE SQUEALS AND GRINDS WOULD STOP. THIS HOWEVER NEVER HAPPENED. THE THIRD TIME I TOOK MY CAR BACK TO THE SERVICE SHOP THEY REPLACED THE BRAKES WITH PRO STOP. I WAS TOLD THIS IS THE TOP OF THE LINE IN BRAKE PADS. TO THIS DAY, I STILL EXPERIENCE VERY LOUD SQUEALS AND GRINDING AS IF MY BRAKES NEED TO BE REPLACED.

I TOOK MY CAR FOR SERVICING AT NISSAN SERVICE CENTER AND THEY TOLD ME THAT CAR BRAKES NEEDS TO BE CHANGED. MY CAR'S MILEAGE IS ONLY 34 K.

DRIVING IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC ON THE INTERSTATE, I HEARD A NOISE BUT COULD NOT DISTINGUISH WHAT IT WAS OR WERE IT CAME FROM. THE NOISE EVENTUALLY GOT LOUDER AND AFTER APPLYING BRAKES IN TRAFFIC THE CAR STRUGGLED TO ENGAGE INTO DRIVE. I MADE IT OFF THE EXPRESSWAY TO A DEALERSHIP. UPON INSPECTION, THE BRAKE CALIPER CAME OFF AND WAS GRINDING INTO THE WHEEL.
BRAKES FAULTY AND MALFUNCTIONING. ISSUE FOR MANY OWNERS OF 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. THIS MECHANISM SHOULD BE RECALLED BEFORE SOMEONE IS INJURED OR KILLED.
THE BRAKES STARTED SQUEALING AFTER A COUPLE A DAYS AFTER I PURCHASED THE CAR, AND CONTINUE TO SQUEAL AFTER REPLACEMENT. TI HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THAT IT IS COMMON, AND THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. THIS CAR SQUEALS REALLY LOUD WHEN IT IS IN MOTION, AND WHEN THE BRAKES GET HOT.

THIS IS A FIRST TIME INCIDENT PERTAINING TO MY 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA SEDAN. MY BRAKE WARNING LAMP (RED) ILLUMINATED WHILE I WAS DRIVING AT A STEADY SPEED OF 45 MPH. NOTE...EARLIER IN THE MORNING I DID NOT EXPERIENCE THIS ISSUE WHILE DRIVING. I PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND CONFIRMED THAT MY PARKING BRAKE PEDAL WAS FULLY RELEASED. I TURNED THE ENGINE OFF AND MOMENTS LATER I RESTARTED IT. THE BRAKE WARNING LAMP STAYED ILLUMINATED. KNOWING THAT MY BRAKES WERE PERFORMING NORMALLY, I CONTINUED ON MY JOURNEY AND DROVE HOME. AT THAT TIME I CHECKED THE VEHICLES BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER FLUID LEVEL. IT WAS SLIGHTLY BELOW THE RESERVOIR'S MAXIMUM INDICATOR. IN ADDITION I CHECKED AND CONFIRMED THAT MY REAR BRAKE LAMPS WERE OPERATING PROPERLY. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED FOR APPROX. 4 HOURS AND THE ENGINE WAS RESTARTED. THE BRAKE WARNING LAMP WAS NO LONGER ILLUMINATED. I THEN DROVE THE VEHICLE AT NIGHT FOR APPROXIMATELY 5 MILES WITHOUT THE PROBLEM RECURRING. IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT THE DAYTIME TEMPERATURE WAS RATHER HIGH AT 94 DEGREES. *TR
WHILE PARKING IN A PARKING LOT, BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND THE CAR DID NOT STOP. IN THE FIRST INCIDENT 5/20/14 THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT OF DAMAGE. THE CAR CONTINUED TO TRAVEL THROUGH THE INTENDED PARKING SPACE AND DRIFTED TO A STOP. THE SECOND INCIDENT 8/25/14 RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT WHERE THE DRIVER'S FRONT IMPACTED THE DRIVER'S FRONT OF A CAR THAT WAS PARKED. *TR

I HAVE HAD THIS CAR FOR 5 MONTHS AND BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW AND IT HAS BEEN NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS THAT NISSAN CANNOT RESOLVE. ON TOP OF ALL OF THE RECALLS, BRAKE AND STARTING ISSUES IT NOW STARTING TO FALL APART. RECENTLY I HAVE BEEN NOTICING A NOISE COMING FROM THE WINDSHIELD ALMOST EVERY TIME I DRIVE AND ESPECIALLY WHEN I AM DRIVING 60-75MPH ON THE INTERSTATE. THE NOISE I HAVE BEEN HEARING SOUNDS LIKE SMALL ROCK HIT THE WINDSHIELD AND AT OTHER TIMES I HEAR A CRACKING NOISE. SO HERE RECENTLY I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AT 75MPH AND HEAR SOMETHING FLAPPING ON THE WINDSHIELD AND NOTICE THAT IT IS THE RUBBER SEAL THAT GOES AROUND THE WINDSHIELD. SO I PULL OFF AT THE NEXT EXIT AND REATTACH THE SEAL. THE CAR IS ONLY 5 MONTHS OLD AND NOTHING SHOULD BE COMING OFF LIKE THAT. ALSO MY CAR HAS BLACK INTERIOR AND IT TENDS I BE MUCH HOTTER ON INSIDE ESPECIALLY IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT. ONE DAY I LEFT MY CAR PARKED IN THE DIRECT SUNLIGHT AND GOT IT AND THE INTERIOR WAS PRETTY WARM AND I WAS GOING TO PLUG MY PHONE IN AND THE A/C OUTLET INSIDE THE CUBBY UNDER THE RADIO AND AS SOON AS I TRIED TO LIFT THE OUTLET COVER IT CRACKED AND BROKE OFF. I TRADED IN MY 2010 ALTIMA FOR THE 2013 BECAUSE I LOVED MY PREVIOUS ALTIMA AND I HAD 60K ON IT AND NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH IT. I THOUGHT I WAS BUYING QUALITY AND RELIABILITY WHEN I PURCHASED A NISSAN, BUT THAT HAS NOT BEEN THE CASE. I HAVE HAD THE CAR ONLY FIVE MONTHS AND HAVING MECHANICAL, EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR ISSUES.
