I BOUGHT MY 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA 2.5 BRAND NEW IN 2012. OVER THE PAST 7 YEARS, MY LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS HAVE GOTTEN PROGRESSIVELY DIMMER, TO THE POINT THAT I CANNOT TELL MY LIGHTS ARE EVEN ON. I CAN NO LONGER DRIVE MY CAR AT NIGHT BECAUSE I CANNOT SEE 5 FEET IN FRONT OF THE CAR. IF IT RAINS, I AM IN BAD SHAPE BECAUSE YOU CAN'T SEE ANYTHING IN FRONT OF YOU. WHEN I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR 90,000 MILE SERVICE, THE SERVICE ADVISOR TOLD ME THAT REPLACING THE HEADLIGHT BULBS WILL NOT CHANGE OR FIX THE ISSUE. HE STATED THAT I NEEDED WHOLE NEW HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLIES, WHICH WOULD COST ME APPROXIMATELY $1,000. I HAVE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR THE CAR, BUT FEEL AS THIS IS A WIDE SPREAD AND KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE 2013-2015 ALTIMA, THAT I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR THE REPAIR FOR MY SAFETY AND SAFETY OF OTHER DRIVERS AROUND ME ON THE ROAD.
THE LOW BEAMS HAVE ARE HORRIBLE. VISIBILITY IS LESS THAN 100 FEET. BRIGHTS NEED TO BE USED CREATING AN EVEN MORE HAZARDOUS SITUATION.
I WAS DRIVING, CAR STARTED TO FISHTAIL, HEARD LOUD NOISE GOT OUT AND LOOKED UNDER CAR AND CONTROL ARM WAS COMPLETELY BROKEN. LUCKILY I WASNT ON THE HIGHWAY OR IT COULD HAVE BEEN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT.
CVT FAILED WITHOUT WARNING. NO WARNING LIGHTS, NO SLIPPAGE. STALLS RANDOMLY IN DRIVE AND REVERSE. RESTARTED AFTER 5 MINUTES AND DROVE FINE AGAIN. HAD TO SPEND $250 IN TOWING FEES IN THE SAME WEEK. NISSAN DIDN'T ADMIT CVT FAULT KNOWINGLY. HAPPENED SHORTLY AFTER THEIR RECALL ON THE TCM TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE REPROGRAMMING. SHAME ON YOU, NISSAN!
THE TORQUE CONVERTER WOULD SEIZE IF THE CAR SLOWED DOWN CAUSING THE ENGINE TO STALL. RESTARTING THE CAR WOULD BE NO PROBLEM (IN PARK OR NEUTRAL) AND IT IDLED FINE. AS SOON AS YOU PUT IT IN GEAR, THE PROBLEMATIC TORQUE CONVERTER WOULD CAUSE THE CAR TO STALL AGAIN. THE CAR IS CURRENTLY (01/23/2020) AT POUGHKEEPSIE NISSAN (NY) GETTING FIXED.
LOW BEAM HEAD LIGHTS HAVE EXTREMELY LOW OUTPUT. DIFFICULT TO DRIVE AT NIGHT.
I WAS DRINKING OUT OF A PARKING LOT ONTO THE CITY STREET I DON'T BELIEVE I HIT ANYTHING. AS I WAS DRIVING I HEARD A SCRAPPING NOISE FROM THE REAR AREA OF MY CAR AS I PROCEEDED OUT OF THE PARKING LOT. AS I WAS IN MOTION GOING HOME I FELT THE CAR DRIVING A BIT DIFFERENT LIKE I WAS DRIVING WITH A FLAT TIRE. I STOPPED GOT OUT CHECKED MY TIRES EVERYTHING SEEMED FINE. I CONTINUED ON SLOWLY AND QUIETLY TO LISTEN TO MY CAR THIS TIME I FELT LIKE MY CAR WAS DRIVING OFF TRACK LIKE MY STEERING WHEEL WAS STRAIGHT BUT MY CAR WAS SLOWLY GOING A DIFFERENT DIRECTION. AS I MADE IT HOME I PARKED AND LOOKED AT MY CAR AGAIN FROM EVERY ANGLE THIS TIME I NOTICED THE PROBLEM. MY REAR PASSENGER TIRE WAS GOING FACING INWARD. I LOOK UNDER MY CAR FROM THE BACK AND I NOTICE SOMETHING WAS HANGING LIKE A PIPE.
THE SHIFT LOCK SOLENOID HAS FAILED IN THE CAR. I CAN NOT TAKE THE CAR OUT OF PARK.THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AMONG NISSANS AND THEY REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE PROBLEM. NUMEROUS DEALERS HAVE SAID THAT THE PIECE IN THE SHIFT LOCK THAT NISSAN USES IS DEFECTIVE. NISSAN IS REQUIRING ME TO PAY $1,000 TO FIX.
GEAR STUCK IN PARK UNABLE TO SHIFT OUT OF IT. HAPPENS EVERY TIME I PARK MY CAR OR PUT IT IN PARK. NOTICED THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE FOR SOMETIME SINCE 2016. I THINK THIS NEEDS TO INVESTIGATED AND A RECALL DEFINITELY NEEDS TO BE DONE TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE. TOTALLY UNSAFE!!
DRIVING DOWN CITY STREET 30MPH. CAR STARTED PULLING BACK AND FORTH. WAS ABLE TO SLOW CAR AND GUIDE IT INTO THE NEAREST PARKING LOT. GLAD I WASN'T ON FASTER ROADS AS TOTAL LOSS OF CONTROL COULD HAVE BEEN POSSIBLE. ONCE PARKED I GOT OUT TO EXAMINE VEHICLE AND REAR DRIVER SIDE WAS SITTING VERY LOW ON THE WHEEL. LOOKED UNDER VEHICLE AND SAW LOWER CONTROL ARM BROKEN APART.
I WAS DRIVING THE CAR AND IT STARTED STUTTERING AND IT CUT RIGHT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING .I THEN RESTARTED MY CAR AND IT DID THE SAME THING. THE BATTERY LIGHT CAME RIGHT ON AND ENGINE LIGHT AS WELL. I PARKED IT AS BEST AS I COULD , AND I TRIED STARTING IT A 3RD TIME IT STARTED AND I PUT IT IN REVERSE AND IT CUT RIGHT OFF.
I SMELL SOMETHING BURNING BUT MY CAR ISN'T GETTING HOT. I TOOK IT TO THE SHOP TO BE DIAGNOSED THEY SAID MY VALVE COVER GASKET IS LEAKING OIL IT HAS TO BE REPLACED AND MY COILS AND PLUGS ARE SITTING IN OIL. THE STRONG BURNING SMELL COMES THROUGH MY AIR VENTS. AND WHEN THE OIL HITS THE EXHAUST IT SMOKES. I PRAY IT DOESN'T CATCH ON FIRE.
THE HEADLIGHTS ARE GETTING DIMMER OVER TIME TO THE POINT YOU ARE UNABLE TO SEE AT NIGHT TO SAFELY OPERATE THE VEHICLE. THE REFLECTIVE MATERIAL INSIDE THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY APPEARS TO BE DETERIORATING AND REPLACING THE BULB DOES NOT HELP.
The headlights are dangerously dim, don't shine light more than a few feet ahead of the car. Apparently this is the cause: the reflective material in the light assembly has burned off from the heat of the bulbs.
THIS VEHICLES HEADLAMPS ARE SO DIM TO THE POINT OF EXTREME SAFETY HAZARD AND CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT AND INJURY AS A RESULT. THIS APPEARS TO BE A KNOWN DEFECT AND NISSAN IS NOT STANDING BEHIND THE SAFETY OF THEIR OWNERS. THE FIX IS NOT A BULB, BUT REPLACING BOTH HEADLAMP ASSEMBLIES AT A HEFTY PRICE TAG TO THE OWNER
I WAS DRIVING MY 2013 ALTIMA WITH 73,000 MILES ON THE INTERSTATE GOING ABOUT 85MPH AND ALL OF A SUDDEN I FELL A SUDDEN SURGE IN POWER THE RPM WENT FROM 2,400 TO 5,300 SIMULTANEOUSLY AND THE I SMELLED SOMETHING BURNING AND MY ENGINE DIED I ALMOST GOT INTO A HORRIFIC ACCIDENT BUT LUCKILY THE PERSON BEHIND ME WASN'T ON THERE PHONE BUT THEY HAD TO SLAM ON THE BRAKES BEACAUSE MY CAR WAS SLOWING DOWN QUICKLY PROBABLY BEACAUSE OF THE JATCO CVT BUT ONCE I AM PULLED OVER I AM GOING THROUGH MY GLOVE BOX TO FIND THE ROADSIDE EMERGENCY CARD WITH A NUMBER ON IT BUT I FOUND A RECALL NOTICE FROM 2 YEARS AGO THAT SAID THAT THE COMPUTER THAT CONTROLS YOUR TRANSMISSION DOES NOT WORK AND I NEED TO TAKE IT IN TO SERVICE IMMEDIATELY OR DAMAGE WILL OCCUR WELL WHEN I HAD THE RECALL PERFORMED I HAD 55,000 MILES ON THE CAR AND THAT IS 55,000 MILES OF DAMAGE HAPPENING TO MY TRANSMISSION SO I CALLED NISSAN AND TOLD THEM SINCE THEY DO NOT KNOW HOW TO MAKE A CAR AND THAT I ALMOST DIED IN A CAR WRECK BEACAUSE OF THEM THAT THEY NEED TO SEND ME A TOW TRUCK ASAP TO TOW IT TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP THEY SENT ME ONE BUT THEY DID NOT PAY FORE IT SO 200 DOLLARS LATER I AM SITTING IN MY BROCKEN CAR IN A NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND I WENT IN AND TOLD THEM SINCE THEY CAN'T BUILD A TRANSMISSION THAT WON'T GET SOMEONE KILLED THEY NEED TO PUT A NEW ONE IN MY CAR THAT EORKS AND OF COURSE THEY REFUSED TO DO IT SO I GAVE IT TO THEM AND THEY LOWBALLED ME AND GAVE ME 4,000 DOLLERS FORE THE CAR WHATEVER I WAS SO MAD AT THAT MOMENT THEN I DROVE MY BUT OVER TO HYUNDAI AND GOT ME A 2020 HYUNDAI SONATA LIMITED.
UPON STARTING THE CAR, THE GEAR SHIFTER WILL NOT MOVE OUT OF PARK. THE SHIFT LOCK SEEMS TO BE STUCK. THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF POSTS ONLINE ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE WITH THIS YEAR AND OTHER YEARS OF THIS MODEL AND MAKE.
LOW-BEAM HEADLIGHTS HAVE DIMMED OVER TIME. I PURCHASED CAR BRAND NEW AND CANNOT SEE WITHOUT FOG LIGHTS BEING ON. REPLACED BULBS BUT PROBLEM IS WITH THE REFLECTIVE COATING INSIDE THE HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY. MANY OTHER PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THEIR VEHICLES ALSO.
WITH TIME, THE HEADLIGHTS ON MY CAR HAVE DETERIORATED TO THE POINT WHERE THEY MAY AS WELL NOT BE ON AT ALL AFTER DARK. IT ISN'T THE BULBS THEMSELVES, BUT AN ISSUE WITH THE HEADLAMP. IT IS INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS, AND I CAN BARELY DRIVE MY CAR AT NIGHT-- LET ALONE DRIVE IT SAFELY. I'VE RESEARCHED THE ISSUE, AND IT APPEARS THAT THERE ARE MANY OTHER NISSAN ALTIMAS MADE IN 2013 AND 2014 THAT HAVE THIS SAME ISSUE. THE PROBLEM PERSISTS AT ALL TIMES, EXCEPT WHEN THE BRIGHT LIGHTS ARE ON. THE HEADLIGHTS HAVE BEEN FAILING FOR SOME TIME NOW, AND GETTING STEADILY WORSE EACH DAY.
HEADLIGHTS HAVE BEEN VERY DIM FOR YEARS AND NOW ARE WAY WORSE. I CAN'T SEE AT ALL TO DRIVE AT NIGHT, EXCEPT WHEN I DRIVE WITH MY LIGHTS ON BRIGHT CONSTANTLY AND EVEN THOSE AREN'T GREAT. I HAVE HAD NO ONE FLASH ME WITH MY BRIGHTS ON, IF THAT IS ANY INDICATION OF HOW BAD THEY ARE. I HAVE HAD MANY ALMOST ACCIDENTS BECAUSE OF THIS. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY URGENT SAFETY ISSUE. I LOVE MY CAR AND THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT, EXCEPT FOR THIS. NISSAN NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING FOR ITS CUSTOMER'S SAFETY. I AM LOOKING AT TRADING IT IN BECAUSE OF THIS EVEN THOUGH I REALLY DON'T WANT TO AND NEVER BUYING NISSAN AGAIN. ( I OWN THREE NISSAN CARS PRESENTLY AND THIS ONE IS JUST HORRIBLE.)
WHENEVER I DRIVE MY CAR ON A CITY STREET AND MY SPEED IS 40MPH OR LESS IT STARTS TO JERK REAL BAD AND THE LOWER THE SPEED THE MORE IT JERKS. WHEN I DOWN SHIFT TO 1 OR 2 WITH THE COLUMN HANDLE THE JERKING IS NOT AS BAD. THIS ACTION BEGAN ABOUT 3 MONTHS AGO.THERE IS 70.000 MLS ON THE CAR.
WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC, THE CAR BEGAN JERKING BACK AND FORTH BEFORE COMPLETELY SHUTTING OFF. I WAS WITH MY SMALL CHILD IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION WHEN THIS HAPPENED. THIS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES WHENEVER I'D PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE OR DRIVE. I'M ONE OF HUNDREDS, IF NOT THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE AFFECTED BY THIS ISSUE, WHICH IS KNOWN TO SPECIFICALLY AFFECT 2013 MODELS. MY CHILD AND I NEARLY GOT IN AN ACCIDENT WHEN THIS HAPPENED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE VIBRATED WITH A LOUD SOUND WAS COMING FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT DRIVE WHILE IN THE REVERSE. THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 111,000.
The headlamps are so dim, you can't even see the road at night. This is a well known issue to Nissan that the headlamps for this make and model are defective. The headlamp assemblies need to be replaced and this should be a recall. There was a civil lawsuit and I, like many others, tried getting the headlamps replaced during the acceptable time period, but my Nissan dealership was not able to get the parts in time. Looking online, this happened to the majority of people and people weren't able to get the proper repairs needed at no fault of their own. This is a major problem that Nissan needs to address. NHTSA also has a responsibility to be pushing Nissan on this recall. My automotive repair company said they've never seen so many complaints with the NHTSA without there being a full recall. It is an extreme safety hazard to not have the road visible at night. I, along with others, have received warnings from the police as well for not having proper lighting. Please help fix this issue.
I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE, BUT ON NEW YEAR'S EVE WITH MY FAMILY IN THE CAR, MY 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA STALLED WHILE IDLING AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT. I DIDN'T DRIVE IT YESTERDAY (NEW YEARS DAY), AND BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP FIRST THING THIS MORNING TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT (JAN 2). I WAS TOLD THAT I NEED TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION! IT IS SHOCKING TO ME THAT A 6 Y.O. CAR -- WITHOUT ANY PROGRESSION OF SYMPTOMS OR ANY WARNING LIGHTS WHATSOEVER -- WOULD NEED AN ENTIRELY NEW TRANSMISSION. THESE SEEMS LIKE A MANUFACTURING PROBLEM TO ME, AS A QUICK GOOGLE SEARCH REVEALED NUMEROUS NISSAN OWNERS COMPLAINING OF NEEDING TO REPLACE THEIR CVT PREMATURELY.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEADLAMP BULBS WERE REPLACED HOWEVER, THE REPLACEMENT FAILED TO ADDRESS THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO GERALD NISSAN OF NORTH AURORA (213 HANSEN BLVD, NORTH AURORA, IL 60542) WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE WITH THE REFLECTOR ON THE INSIDE OF THE HEADLAMP HOUSING WAS DEFECTIVE. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. NO ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 103,000.

THE CONTACT STATED RESTARTED THE VEHICLE HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITH SEVERAL WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE RECURRED AN ADDITIONAL 5 TIMES BEFORE THE VEHICLE STARTED TO OPERATE AS INTENDED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL DAYS LATER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. CANNON NISSAN OF JACKSON LOCATED AT (905 I 20 FRONTAGE RD, JACKSON, MS 39204, 601-360-7490) CONFIRMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. A CASE WAS FILED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 156,749.
TERRIBLE HEADLIGHTS. I HAVE ALREADY CHANGED COUPLE LOW BEAM BULB IN ORDER TO INCREASE NIGHT VISION, BUT THE RESULT DIDN'T CHANGE MUCH. I DO NOT SEE ANY ROADS CLEARLY WHEN I DRIVE NIGHT TIME SO IT'S NOT SAFE AT ALL.
HEADLIGHTS ARE TOO DIM--WHERE I CAN ONLY SEE 4 FT IN FRONT OF MY CAR AT NITE. IT'S A VERY DANGEROUS SAFETY ISSUE.
TRANSMISSION SLIPPING WHEN VEHICLE SLOWS. SOMETIMES THE CAR DIES AS A RESULT. WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE, TRANSMISSION SLIPS OUT OF GEAR THUS CAUSING A SAFETY HAZARD SUCH AS GETTING STUCK IN AN INTERSECTION OR IN FRONT OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC.
MADE A RIGHT TURN AT THE INTERSECTION AFTER STOPPING FOR THE RED LIGHT FELT LIKE THE CAR HIT A CHUCK HOLE BUT DIDN'T SEE NO CHUCK HOLE CAR STARTED TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY HAD TROUBLE CONTROLLING VEHICLE MANAGED TO PULL OVER IN A PARKING LOT AND NOTICE THAT THE LEFT REAR WHEEL WAS AT AN ANGLE HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO REPAIR SHOP WHERE WE FOUND THE LEFT REAR LOWER CONTROL ARM HAD BROKE OFF FROM ITS PIVOT POINT UPON FURTHER INSPECTION FOUND THAT THE RIGHT REAR LOWER CONTROL ARM WAS CRACKED ON THE SAME PIVOT POINT
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHAKE WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER, EXITED THE VEHICLE, LOOKED UNDER THE VEHICLE, AND NOTICED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER LOWER CONTROL ARM WAS FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO NISSAN OF CANTON (42175 MICHIGAN AVE, CANTON, MI 48188, (734) 392-8248) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER CONTROL ARM AND SUBFRAME WERE FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA ACTION NUMBER: EA19002. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 38269408. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 135,751.
COMPLETE TRANSMISSION FAILURE IN THE MIDDLE OF A MAJOR INTERSECTION WITH NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMING ON (UNTIL AFTER THE FACT) OR PRIOR WARNING.
REAR SUSPENSION CONTROL ARM FAILURE. LEFT BACK DRIVER SIDE. RUSTED AND BROKE.
DRIVING ON HIGHWAY, CAME TO A STOP AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, ENGINE STALLED WHEN TRYING TO PUSH ACCELERATOR
THE HEADLIGHTS HAVE DIMMED AND CAN BARELY SEE AT NIGHT. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE THAT IS KNOWN BY NISSAN AND THERE ARE NUMEROUS ISSUES REPORTED ALL OVER THE INTERNET. THIS MUST BE CORRECTED BY THE MANUFACTURER IMMEDIATELY BEFORE SOMEONE IS SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED. I OWN 2 OF THESE VEHICLES AND THEY BOTH HAVE THE SAME ISSUES WITH POOR HEADLIGHT PROJECTION! THE HEADLIGHT REFLECTOR DETERIORATION IS SO BAD THAT I CAN SEE THE SHADOW OF MY CAR IN MY HEADLIGHT BEAMS FROM THE CAR'S HEADLIGHTS BEHIND ME. I DO NOT FEEL THAT THE OWNERS OF THESE VEHICLES SHOULD BEAR THE COST FOR REPLACEMENT OF OEM PARTS AND/OR AFTERMARKET PARTS DUE TO THIS ISSUE BEING THE #2 COMPLAINT ON NHTSA WEBSITE BEHIND AIRBAGS AND AMOUNTS TO 15% OF ALL COMPLAINTS FILED AGAINST THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD ISSUE RECALL IMMEDIATELY FOR INSPECTION AND REPAIR/REPLACEMENT RESOLUTION BY CERTIFIED DEALER.
WHILE DRIVING MY CAR AND MERGING ONTO A BUSY INTERSTATE, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, TRACTION CONTROL, AND BLIND SPOT MONITORING ERROR LIGHTS ALL CAME ON THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. THE RPM GAUGE WOULD GO UP AND THE CAR WOULD TRY TO GO, BUT IT JUST WOULDN'T. I ALMOST GOT REAR ENDED BY A SEMI TRUCK BECAUSE MY CAR WASN'T ABLE TO GO OR MOVE OUT OF THE WAY. I LEFT IT IN A SHOP FOR OVER A WEEK AND APPARENTLY IT'S SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE CVT TRANSMISSION AND SPEED SENSORS. I CONTACTED NISSAN AND ALL THEY WOULD TELL ME WAS THAT THEY DID AN EXTENDED WARRANTY ON THOSE TRANSMISSIONS UP TO 130,000 MILES, HOWEVER MY CAR WAS ROUGHLY 2,000 MILES OVER THIS AND WAS NOT COVERED BY THAT WARRANTY. THEY TOLD ME ALL I COULD DO WAS REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION AND THAT WAS GOING TO COST ME ROUGHLY $4,000. I'M ALMOST SCARED TO DRIVE IT ANYWHERE THERE'S LOTS OF TRAFFIC OR FAST MOVING TRAFFIC FOR FEAR OF SOMEONE RUNNING INTO ME. ALSO WHEN ALL OF THOSE DASH LIGHTS COME ON, THE TRACTION CONTROL ISN'T WORKING AND I'VE HAD TO DRIVE IN THE RAIN SEVERAL TIMES. I JUST BELIEVE IT'S OVERALL DANGEROUS AND NISSAN ISN'T DOING ANYTHING TO FIX THE PROBLEM FOR CARS THAT HAVE SOMEHOW MANAGED TO MAKE IT OVER 130,000 MILES. I KNOW SEVERAL PEOPLE WHO'VE HAD SIMILAR THINGS HAPPEN WITH THEIR NISSAN CAR THAT HAS THIS TRANSMISSION. I DO BELIEVE IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE IT MALFUNCTIONS AT ANY GIVEN TIME JUST RANDOMLY. I CAN BE DRIVING AND IT'S FINE ONE MINUTE, THE NEXT THING I KNOW ALL OF THESE DASH LIGHTS ARE LIT UP AND THE CAR WON'T ACCELERATE.
REAR CONTROL ARMS PRONE TO EXTREME CORROSION. TO THE POINT THE ALREADY PAPER THIN METAL IS BREAKING UNDER NORMAL STRESS. BOTH INSTANCES OCCURRED IN A DRIVEWAY WITH VEHICLE IN REVERSE.
THE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM SENSOR WAS RE-PROGRAMMED YEARS AGO DURING THE RECALL AND NOW IT IS NOT RECOGNIZING WHEN PEOPLE SIT IN THE PASSENGER SEAT NO MATTER THE VEHICLE CONDITION (STATIONARY, IN MOTION, ETC). NOT SURE IF IT JUST A FAILURE WITH MY PART OR SOMETHING ELSE, BUT IT IS CONCERNING.
THE HEAD LIGHTS ON MY CAR WHEN ON DIM ARE DANGEROUS. I CAN'T SEE MORE THAN 20-30 FEET AHEAD. I'VE CHANGED THE BULBS WITH NO HELP OR IMPROVEMENT. I'VE INSTALLED NEW HALOGEN BULBS AND CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP REGARDING THIS ISSUE. THEY TELL ME MY LIGHTS ARE WORKING PROPERLY, BUT THEY HAVEN'T DRIVEN M CAR AT NIGHT. THIS SEEMS TO BE A WIDESPREAD ISSUE WITH THIS MODEL.I CAN'T SAFELY OPERATE MY CAR AT NIGHT AND ESPECIALLY IN THE RAIN. I CAN'T SEE THE CURB THUS I CAN'T SEE PEDESTRIANS UNTIL IT'S ALMOST TOO LATE. NISSAN NEEDS TO FIX THIS PROBLEM BECAUSE IT'S WITH EVERY ALTIMA.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE THE CONTACT'S FIANCE WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH OVER A MINOR POTHOLE, SHE HEARD A LOUD BANGING NOISE. WHEN THE DRIVER ARRIVED HOME, THE CONTACT LOOKED UNDER THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THAT THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE CONTROL ARM HAD FRACTURED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 165,000.
DIFFICULT SEEING IN THE NIGHT VERY BAD VISIBILITY LIGHTS ARE NOT BRIGHT ENOUGH , I CHANGED THE LIGHTS BUT THERE WAS NO IMPROVEMENT, I HAVE TO USE MY HIGH BEAM LIGHTS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH, IT FELT AS IF THE VEHICLE HIT A BUMP AND THE TRACTION CONTROL INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BERTERA NISSAN (888-380-7759, LOCATED AT 569 OXFORD ST S RTE 20, AUBURN, MA 1501) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALSO MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 112,000.
Supplemental air bag warning light stays on. Dealer had reset it once but it came back on. According to the manual, "If this light is on, it could mean that the front air bag, side air bag, curtain air bag systems and/or pretensioner systems will not operate in an accident."
COMPLETE TRANSMISSION FAILURE AT NEARLY 122,000 MILES IN THE MIDDLE OF A MAJOR INTERSTATE WHEREIN THE VEHICLE COULD NOT TURN BACK ON. PRIOR TO THE FAILURE, THERE WERE WEEKS OF JERKY SHIFTING, THE CAR WAS UNABLE TO COAST, QUICKLY ACCELERATE, OR COME TO A STOP WITHOUT JERKING THE CAR UNTIL STOPPED. THE IDLE OF THE CAR WAS UNUSUALLY HIGH NEAR THE DAY OF FULL TRANSMISSION FAILURE. AFTER COMPLETELY REPLACING THE TRANSMISSION WITH A BRAND NEW ONE, THE CAR STILL IS HAVING TROUBLE SHIFTING SMOOTHLY.
2013 NISSAN ALTIMA HEADLIGHTS ARE EXTREMELY DIM. THE BULBS WERE REPLACED AND THE PROBLEM IS STILL PRESENT. I'VE HEARD OF OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SAME ISSUE AND I SEEM TO BE EXPERIENCING IT NOW.
HANDLES ARE BREAKING FROM THE INSIDE CAUSING AN ISSUE WHERE I CAN'T OPEN DOOR FROM INSIDE. DRIVER SIDE AND NOW ONE OF MY BACK DOORS IS DOING SAME THING! I HAVE SEEN MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS FOR THIS YEAR OF ALTIMA SEDAN
LIGHTING THE HEADLIGHTS ARE VERY DIM AT NIGHT HARD TO SEE WITHOUT THE BRIGHTS ON. WAS INFORMED THAT REFLECTIVE MATERIAL DETERIORATION IS THE CAUSE. NO RECALL FROM THE MANUFACTURER. TRANSMISSION THE CVT TRANSMISSION HAS GONE OUT ON ME AT 67,000 AND AGAIN AT ABOUT 186000 MILES. NO COMPENSATION OR RECALL FROM THE MANUFACTURER ON THIS EITHER. POOR QUALITY.
THE DRIVERS' SIDE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE BROKE AND WILL NO LONGER OPEN THE DOOR FROM INSIDE THE VEHICLE. *TR
THE RIGHT REAR LOWER CONTROL ARM OR LOWER SPRING LINK FRACTURED WHILE BACK THE VEHICLE OUT OF A DRIVEWAY. MOMENTS BEFORE THE ISSUE WAS TRAVELING 25 MILES ON THE FREEWAY IN RAIN AND SLEET. STEERING WHEEL PULLED TO THE LEFT, TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON, AND VEHICLE'S BACK END FELT LOOSE. POOR CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AFTER INCIDENT. NO INDICATIONS BEFORE THE FAILURE. NO KNOCKING OR TROUBLE STEERING. ATTEMPTED TO TIGHTEN LUG NUTS AND WAS ABLE TO SWIVEL THE RIGHT REAR WHEEL BACK AND FORTH.
