Both the driver and passenger side seat sensors do not detect when a person is in the seat, causing the air bags to remain off when vehicle is occupied. This is a common issue with the 2013 Altima, but Nissan has not issued a recall to have the seat sensors repaired.
I PURCHASE MY 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA 1 MONTH AGO WELL WHEN I WENT TO GET IN THE CAR AND DRIVE THE CAR WOULD NOT GO IN DRIVE OR REVERSE WHEN I HIT THE GAS IT DID NOTHING HAD IT TOWED TO THE SHOP WHERE THEY TOLD ME THE TRANSMISSION WAS BAD THE CVT TRANSMISSION HAD WENT OUT AND THEY STATED THAT IT WAS A LOT OF RECALLS ON 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA TRANSMISSIONS THE WARRANTY WILL COVER UP TO 100,000 MILES I ONLY HAVE 100000 MILES ON NET AT THE MOMENT WHEN IT WENT OUT THE SHOP IS TRYING TO CHARGE ME $3,500 TO FIX IT WELL ACTUALLY THEY WANTED $4,100 OUT THE DOOR BUT I EXPLAINED TO THEM I ONLY HAD THE CAR FOR 1 MINUTE AND JUST PAID $4,000 CASH TO PURCHASE THE CAR THEY FELT BAD AND SAID THAT THEY WOULD DO THE JOB FOR 3500 SINCE IT'S A RECALL FOR THE CVT TRANSMISSIONS I'M TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW DO I SUBMIT A CLAIM SO I CAN GET HELP IN TRYING TO FIX THIS CAR I DON'T HAVE $3,500 TO GIVE THESE PEOPLE WHEN I JUST SPENT $4,000 BUYING THE CAR CAN I GET SOME HELP PLEASE I WAS DRIVING ON 95 ALL OF A SUDDEN THE SPEED BROKE ALL THE WAY DOWN TO 20 MILES PER HOUR I PROCEEDED TO PULL OVER ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD CUT THE CAR OFF CRANK IT BACK UP IT WILL NOT GO AND DRIVE OR REVERSE I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO THE SHOP AND THAT'S WHEN I FOUND OUT THAT THE CVT TRANSMISSION WAS BAD ALSO THE CONVERTER BUT MOSTLY THE CVT TRANSMISSION
THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE LOWER STABILIZATION BAR BROKE WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT IN NORMAL CONDITIONS AT ABOUT 30 MPH. THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE LOWER STABILIZATION BAR IS CRACKED BUT STILL HOLDING ON. THE CAR IS NO LONGER DRIVABLE DUE TO MANUFACTURE DEFECTS
WHILE DRIVING MY 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA ON I95 AT 60 MPH IN CONNECTICUT THE RIGHT LOWER REAR CONTROL ARM BROKE AND SENT THE CAR SWERVING TO THE RIGHT. THERE WAS A LOT OF CORROSION ON THE CONTROL ARM. THE OTHER CONTROL ARM WAS CRACKED AND DAMAGED THE FRAME. OVERALL COST TO REPAIR INCLUDING NEW TIRE AND ALIGNMENT OVER $2,000.
DRIVING DOWN HIGHWAY NEW YORK RTE 104 WEST IN WEBSTER NY AT 60MPH. THE HOOD LIFTED AND SLAMMED THE ROOF OF THE CAR. I WAS ABLE TO SEE BETWEEN THE DASH AND JUST UNDER THE HOOD AND WAS ABLE TO SAFELY MOVE OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I WAS ABLE TO RE-LATCH THE HOOD AND RETURN HOME. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD (IN SUBURBS) WHEN I CAME TO A STOP SIGN. I STARTED NOTICING A LITTLE STUTTER WHEN I APPROACHED THE STOP SIGN AND STARTED SLOWING DOWN. THIS IS A CONTINUOUS PROBLEM WHENEVER MY CAR NEEDS TO ACCELERATE AFTER A STOP (BETWEEN 5-40 MPH) OR SLOW DOWN TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. I HAVEN'T BEEN ON THE HIGHWAY SINCE I NOTICED THIS PROBLEM BECAUSE I AM WORRIED FOR MY SAFETY. I WENT TO A MECHANIC IMMEDIATELY ONCE I NOTICED THE STUTTER AND SMALL JERKS. THE ENGINE LIGHT IS NOT ON SO WHEN I DESCRIBED THIS TO HIM HE SAID HE HAD TO DO AN IN DEPTH READ OF MY TRANSMISSION. HE ENDED UP FINDING A CODE IN MY TRANSMISSION THAT HAD PICKED UP ON THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPING / STUTTERING.
THE DIM LIGHTS ARE SO VERY DIM THAT IT IS A HAZARD TO DRIVE AT NIGHT WHILE THE LIGHTS ARE ON DIM. THE BRIGHTS WORKS FINE. IT'S SEEMS THE ACTUAL LIGHT ITSELF WORKS FINE BUT THE SURROUND UNIT/CASING/PART THAT HOUSES THE DIM LIGHT HAS A TENDENCY TO TO WEAR OFF AND NOT REFLECT THE LIGHTS AS IT SHOULD. IT'S MY UNDERSTANDING THAT THIS IS THE REASON FOR THE DIM LIGHTING. CHANGING BULB WILL NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THE DIM LIGHTS ARE EXTREMELY DIM WHETHER THE CAR IS IN MOTION OR STATIONARY. THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM THAT CONTINUES TO GET WORSE. I DID PUT THE INCIDENT DATE AS 02/19/2021 BUT IS BEEN ONGOING AND DETERIORATING. IT MUCH MORE APPARENT ON DARK HIGHWAYS AS OPPOSE TO BRIGHTLY LIT CITY STREETS. THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP SAID THE ONLY REMEDY IS TO CHANGE THE ENTIRE HEAD LAMP UNIT FOR AROUND $1000. IT'S MY UNDERSTANDING THAT THIS IS AN ISSUES WITH 2013-2015ISH NISSAN ALTIMAS. SINCE THERE ARE SO MANY WITH THIS ISSUE AND IT'S SUCH A HAZARD THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL. REPLACING THE ENTIRE HEAD LAMP WITH A HEAD LIGHT WITH THE SAME ISSUES SEEMS TO BE A WASTE OF CONSUMER MONEY. FURTHER, IF NISSAN IMPROVED THE HEAD LAMP, THEN THEY KNOW THERE'S AN ISSUE. PLEASE INVESTIGATE AND ISSUE A RECALL ON THE DIM LIGHT HAZARD.
TRANSMISSION ON NISSAN ARE EASILY DAMAGED MY CAR START BUT DONT DRIVE I JUST PAID MY CAR OFF IN STARTING TO HAVE PROBLEMS

THE CONTACT CALLED WOODFIELD NISSAN (700 W HIGGINS RD, HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL 60169, (847)310-1900) HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE CONTACT STATED FAILURE WAS SIMILAR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V029000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 121,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS SIMPLY DO NOT WORK. I CANNOT SEE THE ROAD DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF ME WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT. I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST ME AT FIRST THEN REALIZED THAT THIS IS A NATIONAL AND RECOGNIZED PROBLEM WITHIN THE NISSAN WORLD. USING THE HIGH BEAM IN PLACE OF THE LOW BEAM DOES NOT FIX THE PROBLEM AS THEY ARE NOT TRUE HIGH BEAM LIGHTS EITHER. THIS HAS TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE. NEW LIGHT BULBS DONT RESOLVE THIS ISSUE. WHY DONI HAVE TO PAY OVER $1000 TO FIX A NISSAN PROBLEM.
P17F0 IS THE DIAGNOSTIC CODE THAT I RECEIVED AFTER TAKING MY 2013 ALTIMA SV 2.5 TO A MECHANIC DUE TO LOSS OF POWER, HORRIBLE GAS MILAGE AND A HEAVY VIBRATION/RUMBLING NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT OF MY CAR.
Noticed that my 2013 Nissan Altima headlights are very dim. Researched on the internet and quickly realized this is an issue with many 2013-2018 Altimas and that the reflective material in the assembly breaks down over time. This is a serious safety issue and Nissan does not have a recall and they definitely should be forced to recall cars with this issue before it's too late. Very serious safety issue in my opinion.
THE LOWER LINK OF THE LEVER ARM FOR THE REAR RIGHT SUSPENSION BROKE OFF. THIS MADE THE REAR END OF MY VEHICLE TO WANT TO SHIFT LATERALLY WHILE DRIVING. LUCKILY I WAS ONLY GOING ABOUT 35MPH WHEN THIS HAPPENED. I WAS ACCELERATING FROM A STOP SIGN ON A COUNTRY ROAD AND NOTICED THE EXTRA MOTION WHILE TURNING AT A BEND IN THE ROAD. I CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY SAID MY CAR MODEL DID NOT HAVE A RECALL FOR THIS PART, HOWEVER OTHER NISSAN ALTIMA'S WERE RE-CALLED FOR THIS SIMILAR ISSUE. MY MECHANIC ADVISED ME TO REPLACE THE OTHER SIDE AS WELL BECAUSE THE RUST HAD CORRODED IT AS WELL.
I DON'T KNOW ABOUT THIS. I FOUND OUT TODAY
I WAS BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPOT IN TOWN. I HEARD A VERY LOUD BANG COMING FROM THE UNDERSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. I EXITED THE VEHICLE AND FOUND THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR TIRE WAS BENT INWARD. I LOOKED UNDER THE CAR AND NOTICED THAT THE REAR SUSPENSION CONTROL ARM HAD SNAPPED IN HALF AND WAS HANGING FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IMMEDIATELY. A TOW TRUCK WAS CALLED AND THE VEHICLE TRANSPORTED TO A LOCAL BODY SHOP FOR SERVICE.
MY DASHBOARD LIGHTS DO NOT WORK.(SPEEDOMETER, GAS LEVEL, MILAGE, HOT/COLD LEVEL, ETC.) MY STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS DO NOT WORK (VOLUME BUTTON, MENU BUTTON, SOURCE BUTTON,CRUISE CONTROL, ETC.) MY AIR CONDITION/HEAT TEMPERATURE DISPLAY DOES NOT LIGHT UP. ALL THE FUSES HAVE BEEN CHECKED AND THEY ARE ALL GOOD. THE CONNECTION TO THE BATTERY HAD BEEN CHECKED AND THEY ARE GOOD.
My passenger air bag monitor seems to have a shortage. If there is no one in the passenger seat it will show on the dash as being on or when no one is in the seat it will show on and then sometimes off. Most days there isn't any symbol on the dash when someone is sitting in the passenger seat. I never know if the passenger seat belt is on or off. My second concern is my exterior headlights, they are so dim that I have to use my bright lights to see the roads. I have basically tried to stop driving very early in the morning, or at night.
PURCHASED A NEW 2013 ALITIMA ALMOST 8 YEARS AGO. ON JAN 17, 2021, AS I WAS DRIVING, OTHERS WERE HONKING THEIR HORNS AND AS I TURNED INTO A DIM STREET, I WASN'T ABLE TO SEE AHEAD OF ME. VERY SCARY AS I COULD HAVE HIT NEIGHBORS WHO ARE WALKING IN THE EVENING AFTER DARK. NO LONGER COMFORTABLE DRIVING AT NIGHT. DEALER SAID ALTHOUGH I PURCHASED THE GOLD PREFFERED EXTENDED WARRANTY, THAT THIS ISSUE IS NOT COVERED. I OPENED A CASE AT NISSAN CONSUMER COMPLAINTS AND THEY SAID SORRY BUT THERE ARE NO RECALLS AND THE WARRANTY WON'T COVER IT. $1305.63 IS WAY TOO MUCH THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR A SAFETY ISSUE.
AFTER WORK ON 1/16/2021, I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE THRUWAY, ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR FELT LIKE IT WAS ON THE ICE, HOWEVER, THERE WAS NONE ON THE ROAD. I HAD NO CONTROL OF THE STEERING OF MY CAR, THE BACK END WAS SLIDING AND THE STIRRING WHEEL WAS TURNED ALL THE WAY TO THE RIGHT BUT THE FRONT PART OF THE CAR WAS NOT TURNING. I COULD NOT PULL OVER DUE TO BEING ON A BRIDGE AND NO CONTROL OF THE STEERING. I DID LET OFF THE GAS AND COST DOWNHILL THE BEST I COULD, LUCKILY THE CAR DRIFTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I WAS FROZEN WITH FEAR, THE STATE POLICE CAME AND WE CALL A TOW TRUCK. WHEN MY CAR WAS ON THE BED OF THE TRUCK THE DRIVER POINTED TO THE BACK OF THE CAR SAID " WOW IT SNAPED". HE THEN EXPLAINED TO ME THE REAR CONTROL ARM WAS BROKEN. LATER THE MECHANIC TOLD ME THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED. AS OF 1/20/2021,XD THE CAR IS BEING WORKED ON AND I HAVE NOT HEARD ANY UPDATE TO WHAT HAS HAPPEND ASSIDE FROM THE SNAPPED REAR CONTROL ARM.
I COULD NOT SHIFT THE GEAR OUT OF THE PARK POSITION.
AFTER GETTING A WHEEL ALIGNMENT I WAS TOLD THEY (AMERICAS TIRES) COULDNT GET THE SPECS SPOT ON IN THE REAR DUE TO TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES THEY WERE HAVING WITH THEIR SYSTEM I CONTINUED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AS I NORMALLY DO. AFTER A COUPLE WEEKS I HAD NOTICE MY REAR TIRE TREAD WAS SIGNIFICANTLY DEPLETING THUS MAKING ME BUY NEW TIRES AGAIN FOR THE 3RD TIME. I WENT BACK TO AMERICAS TIRES FOR ANOTHER ALIGNMENT ADJUSTMENT AND WITH THEIR SYSTEM UP AND RUNNING PROPERLY I WAS TOLD THAT MY REAR CONTROL ARM WAS GOING TO NEED TO BE REPLACED. THIS BEING ONLY A MONTH SFTER I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY HAD SUPPOSEDLY FIXED A RECALL DEALING WITH REAR SUSPENSION. TO THIS DAY MY CAR MAKES A SKIDDING/SCREECHING SOUND WHEN IM ON THE FREEWAY AND CAUSES IT TO EAT UP MY TIRES YET AGAIN, IVE ALREADY HAD A BLOWOUT HAPPEN AS WELL ON THE RIGHT REAR SIDE WHERE I WAS TOLD THE CONTROL ARM NEEDED TO BE CHANGED AND I CAN FEEL MY CAR PULL SIDE TO SIDE WHEN REACHING FREEWAY SPEED LIMITS AND FEELS VERY UNSAFE.
MY HEADLIGHTS ARE SO DIM THAT IT IS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE AT NIGHT WITHOUT MY BRIGHTS TURNED ON. RESEARCH HAS SHOWN ME THAT I AM ONE OF MANY EXPERIENCING THIS SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN.
WHILE DRIVING WITH HEADLIGHTS ON THERE IS VERY LOW VISIBILITY, IT ALMOST APPEARS THE HEADLIGHTS ARE NOT ON AT ALL. WHEN SWITCHING TO THE HIGH BEAMS THEY APPEAR TO NOT BE AS BRIGHT AS NORMAL EITHER. THIS IS A HUGE PROBLEM THAT I FEAR COULD LEAD TO A COLLISION DUE TO VERY LOW VISIBILITY.
THE HEAD LIGHTS DO NOT WORK PROPERLY. HAVE BEEN REPLACED AND THEY STILL DO NOT WORK PROPERLY. I WAS TOLD THE HEADLIGHTS ARE A KNOWN ISSUE AND NEED TO BE RECALLED ON THE ALTIMA AND THAT NISSAN NEEDS TO ADDRESS IT. WHY HAD THIS NOT BEEN DONE? IT'S VERY UNSAFE. I JUST GOT THE ALTIMA AND IT'S NOT SAFE TO DRIVE WHEN LIGHTS ARE NEEDED.
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that while driving at night with the low-beam headlights activated, the illumination from the headlights was extremely dim, causing a visibility hazard for the driver. The headlight bulbs were replaced on several occasions, but the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the headlight assemblies needed to be replaced to fix the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 86,000.
THE LOW-BEAM HEADLAMPS ON THE 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA PROVIDE ALMOST NO ILLUMINATION OF THE ROAD AHEAD AT NIGHT. SERIOUSLY, TURNING THEM OFF OR ON, IT'S ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO TELL THE DIFFERENCE FROM THE DRIVER'S SEAT. I HAD ONE HEADLAMP REPLACED, BUT THAT MADE NO DIFFERENCE. PEOPLE LITERALLY FLASH THEIR HIGH-BEAMS AT US AT NIGHT BECAUSE THEY THINK WE ARE DRIVING WITH OUR HEADLIGHTS OFF. THIS IS NOT A SUBTLE PROBLEM, BUT RATHER AN EXTRAORDINARILY DANGEROUS SAFETY HAZARD. (JUST CHECKED NISSAN'S VEHICLE RECALL SITE, 3/15/2021). REPORTEDLY, ATTORNEYS CHIMICLES & TIKELLIS ARE INVESTIGATING A POTENTIAL CLASS-ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST THE AUTOMAKER. THIS WILL NOT BE OF MUCH SOLACE IF MY DAUGHTER HAS A CAR CRASH OR HITS A PEDESTRIAN BECAUSE SHE CAN'T SEE AHEAD OF HER WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT. SOMETHING MUST BE DONE--NOW!
Low beams dim. Reflective material in headlight assembly delaminated. Common issue. Tried to remedy by installing LED bulb, no improvement. Dangerous for night driving.
Low beam headlights too dim to be usable at night. Service center confirmed it is a known delamination issue of the reflective coating, for which a class action lawsuit was previously filed and settled. Have been waiting for over 6 months for the "back ordered" parts to come in so it can be fixed.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE HER DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN SHAKING UNCONTROLLABLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO WOODHOUSE NISSAN (7801 NEBRASKA DR, BELLEVUE, NE 68005) WHERE SHE WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SAFE AND THAT THE TURBULENCE WAS PROBABLY FROM ICE ON THE ROAD. TWO DAYS LATER HER DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING 30 MPH, SHE HEARD AN ABNORMAL POPPING SOUND COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE STARTED TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE STEERING WHEEL. HER DAUGHTER DROVE THE VEHICLE TO HER SISTER'S HOUSE AND UPON INSPECTION, SHE DISCOVERED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR TIRE WAS TURNED INWARDS TO THE BODY OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT'S DAUGHTER HAD A FRIEND INSPECT THE VEHICLE WHO DISCOVERED MAJOR CORROSION ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR CONTROL ARM. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BACK TO THE DEALER WHO THEN DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE WITH A DEFECTIVE REAR CONTROL ARM AND ECCENTRIC BOLTS THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED HER THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 77,000.
THE LOWER CONTROL ARM SNAPPED AT THE PIVOT POINT NEAR THE FRAME.WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, THE TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. AFTER GETTING OFF THE HIGHWAY TO CHECK TIRE PRESSURE AND SEE IF THERE WAS ANY OBVIOUS PROBLEMS, I WENT FOR A SHORT TEST DRIVE ON A STATE ROUTE. THE TRACTION WARNING LIGHT STAYED ON. I SOPPED TO TURN AROUND AND HEAD BACK TOWARDS THE HIGHWAY AND THE CONTROL ARM BROKE COMPLETELY.
When a passenger sits in the front seat the airbag light on the dashboard indicates the airbag isn't armed. I have had a Nissan dealer "fix" it three times and it starts again in a few weeks. First time dealer said a connection came loose when the seat was adjusted. Same thing the second time and the third time they said they secured the connection. the light came on in a matter of weeks again . I will take the car back for a fourth time soon. I asked the dealer service rep if there were any service bulletins regarding this problem, he said there weren't any, I feel that I can't have the only car with this problem. Whenever there is a passenger in the front seat I worry about being involved in an accident and their airbag not deploying.

MANUFACTURER SPECIAL POLICY ADJUSTMENT PROGRAMS LISTED ON DEALER INVOICE STATES SERVICES REGARDING THIS DEFECT WILL BE AT NO CHARGE TO OWNER. HOWEVER, DEALER REFUSES TO HONOR POLICY AND CHARGED FOR SERVICE.

HI, I AM AN OWNER OF A NISSAN ALTIMA 2013 S VEHICLE. RECENTLY I NOTICED THAT AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON AND I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSED WITH B0028-13 AND SAID IT WAS A PAST CODE AND CLEARED THE CODE. IT CAME BACK ON AGAIN WHILE I WAS DRIVING AFTER A MONTH. I AGAIN DIAGNOSED AND THE SAME CODE AND SHOWING A PAST CODE. DEALER COULDN'T IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM AND SAID IT NEEDS TO REPLACE THE WHOLE SEAT, WHICH WILL COST 1800 DOLLARS. THEY SAID THE AIRBAG CONTROL MODULE FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE NEEDS TO BE CHANGED. AND I NOTICED ONE THING, AFTER CODE IS GETTING CLEARED, THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT DOESN'T COME ALL OF A SUDDENLY, ALTHOUGH IT HAS SOME PROBLEM WITH PASSENGER OCCUPANCY TOO, AS SOMETIME EVEN IF AN ADULT SIT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT, PASSENGER AIRBAG STAYS OFF. WHICH IS VERY RISKY WHILE DRIVING. NISSAN HAS NO ANSWER TO THAT. AND RIGHT AFTER THAT, AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT COMES BACK. I AM A STUDENT AND DON'T HAVE THAT MUCH OF MONEY TO GET THIS COSTLY REPAIR ( SEAT REPLACEMENT) DONE AND IS A BIG SAFETY ISSUE. PLEASE HELP ME IN THIS MATTER.

RECALL REPLACEMENT FOR LATCH HAS NOT BEEN PROVIDED BY MAKER AS OF THIS DATE. RECALL WAS IN MAY 2020.
ON SATURDAY DECEMBER 12, 2020 I WAS DRIVING AND THE HOOD OPENED UP, SLAMMED ABOVE THE WINDSHIELD. I LUCKILY WAS NOT IN HEAVY TRAFFIC AT THAT POINT AND PULLED OVER. THE HOOD IS DENTED, CHIPPED PAINT, BOTH RIGHT AND LEFT UPPER FENDERS ARE BENT, AND HINGES ARE NO LONGER RELIABLE. THE RUBBER ON THE SIDES OF THE WINDSHIELD LIFTED AND SEPARATION OF THE UPPER FENDERS ON BOTH SIDES ALONG RIGHT AND LEFT SIDE OF WINDSHIELD. I WAS LUCKILY DRIVING STRAIGHT IN THE SUBURBS OF NY, NOT MUCH TRAFFIC AT THE TIME.

THERE LITERALLY IS NO LIGHT PROTRUDING FORWARD. CAN NOT SAFELY DRIVE THE CAR AT NIGHT WITHOUT USING THE HIGH BEAMS. THE COST TO FIX THIS DEFECT IS OVER $1,000. THE AMOUNT OF LIGHT FROM THE LOW BEAMS IS LESS THAN DAYLIGHT RUNNING LAMPS. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. THE LIGHTING HAS PROGRESSIVELY GOT WORSE OVER THE YEARS. THIS IS NOT A LAMP ISSUE OR TYPE OF LAMP, RATHER THE ACTUAL REFLECTIVE HOUSING INTERNALLY THAT IS NOT ACCESSIBLE TO REPAIR, THE ENTIRE HOUSING MUST BE REPLACED. THIS SITUATION IS EQUALLY THE SAME FOR BOTH HEADLAMPS. FUNNY HOW THE NISSAN DEALER KNOWS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AS THEY HAVE EXPRESSED OTHER CUSTOMERS HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM, YET THERE'S NOT BEEN A RECALL FOR WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF THE CAR......CLEAR VISIBILITY TO DRIVE AT NIGHT.
