WE PURCHASED A 2005 ARMADA WITH 50,000 MILES ON IT IN 2009, AT THAT TIME THE DEALER SOLD IT TO US WITH THE AIRBAGS SYSTEM SHOWING THE WARNING LIGHT SOLID. THEY ASKED FOR US TO TAKE IT TO A NEARBY NISSAN DEALER AND GET THE PROBLEM LOOKED AT BECAUSE THEY WERE A SAAB DEALER. THE NISSAN DEALER FIXED THE PROBLEM WITHOUT NOTIFYING US OF A COST. THIS ACTION WAS A COST OF $330 WHICH I ASKED THEM TO TAKE THE PART OUT BECAUSE THEY DID NOT HAVE THE SAAB DEALERS AUTHORIZATION. THIS DEALERSHIP TOLD ME NISSAN HONORED THE WORK AND WARRANTY. WE DID NOT PAY A DIME. NOW THE SAME LIGHT IS NOW FLASHING ON THE DASH SINCE 72000 MILES. I STILL HAVE A GOLD WARRANTY ON THE VEHICLE BUT THIS RESTRAINT IS NOT COVERED. IF THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AND CAUSES SYSTEM FAILURE ON THE AIRBAGS WHY AREN'T THEY RECALLING IT? *TR
I'M DRIVING LESS THAN 5 MILES IN THE SCHOOL PARKING LOTS AND ALL SUDDENLY MY BRAKES MAKE A LOUD NOISE AND THE BRAKE LIGHTS TURN ON. I HAD TO TURN MY CAR OFF AND TURN IT BACK ON. THIS IS UNSAFE FOR MY FAMILY WHILE THIS INCIDENT HAPPENED, MY DAUGHTERS WERE IN THE CAR WITH ME. I WAS AFRAID FOR THE LIFE OF MY DAUGHTERS. THIS INCIDENTS REGARDING THE BRAKE HAPPENED TO ME MORE THAN 5 TIMES ALREADY. NISSAN SHOULD HAD THIS RECALL. I HAD MY MECHANIC CHECK IT OUT, HE GAVE ME A CODE C1179 DELTA STROKE SENSOR SIGNAL FAULT MEANING THE BRAKE BOOSTER AND ABS UNIT . *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN ARMADA LE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKES, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS ABNORMALLY DEPRESSED INTO THE FLOORBOARD. THE EMERGENCY HAND BRAKE WAS ENGAGED AND THE VEHICLE WAS SHUT OFF. THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION ONCE RESTARTED BUT THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED BUT PROVIDED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 84,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN ARMADA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED UNDER RECALL 10V074000 (FUEL SYSTEM, OTHER: STORAGE: FUEL GAUGE SYSTEM) MARCH 30, 2010. WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY, THE ENGINE COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIP WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE INTERNAL ELECTRICAL FAULT RELAY FAILED, WHICH SHUT THE POWER OFF TO THE ENGINE; REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED AT THAT TIME. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER, FILED A COMPLAINT AND WAS TOLD SOMEONE WOULD GET BACK WITH HER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 104,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 107,073.

2005 NISSAN ARMADA FUEL GAUGE IS NOT ACCURATE AND CAUSING MY ARMADA TO RAN OUT OF FUEL IN THE MID OF HIGHWAY SPEED AT 65MPH. THE FUEL GAUGE SAYING I HAVE 1/4 TANK LEFT AS THE CAR SHUTDOWN IN THE BUSY 65MPH HIGHWAY TRAVELING, VERY CLOSE CALL ON ACCIDENT. TOOK THE SUV TO MOSSY NISSAN OF HOUSTON, I WAS TOLD THERE'S NO RECALL ON MY SUV VIN SPECIFIC. I WAS TOLD THERE'S A RECALL 2005-2009 BUT ON VIN # SPECIFIC ONLY. *TR
THE FIRST TIME THE BRAKE ISSUE OCCURRED WAS AT THE FIRST START OF THE DAY. I TURNED ON THE VEHICLE BEGAN REVERSING OUT OF MY DRIVE WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKES THE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AND A LOUD SCRAPING SOUND CAME FROM THE FRONT END. I COULD ALSO FEEL THE GRINDING IN THE BRAKE PEDAL. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF THEN RESTARTED PROBLEM WAS GONE. A FEW WEEKS LATER THE INCIDENT HAPPENED AGAIN. THIS TIME IT WAS THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY AND THE CAR HAD ALREADY BEEN DRIVEN BEFORE. AGAIN WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED A LOUD GRINDING NOISE WAS HEARD AND VIBRATIONS IN THE BRAKE PEDAL. AGAIN TURNING THE VEHICLE OFF THEN RESTARTING GOT RID OF THE PROBLEM. *TR
I HAVE A 2005 NISSAN ARMADA. AND I THINK THAT IS A COMPUTER CLINCH IN THE BRAKE SYSTEM. I HAVE HAD MY BRAKES CHECK AT HE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THERE NO PROBLEMS BUT I HAVE HAD INCIDENT WHERE I HAVE BEEN DRIVING AND WHEN I PRESS ON THE BRAKE IT FELT LIKE IT WAS JUST HITTING MEDAL. THIS HAS HAPPENED MORE THAN FIVE TIME. AND I HAVE BEEN FORTUNATE ENOUGH NOT TO BE TRAVELING IN ACCESS SPEED. WHEN THIS HAPPEN I HAVE TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND RESTART IT AND THE PROBLEM IS FIX. THIS IS PERTAINING TO A 2005 NISSAN ARMADA THAT WE PURCHASED BRAND NEW. SOON AFTER PURCHASE, THE BRAKES BEGAN CHATTERING AND WE TOOK IT TO DEALER. THEY FIXED THE BRAKES BASED ON RECOMMENDED UPGRADE PER NISSAN. A COUPLE OF MONTH LATER, THE CAR HAD A BRAKE FAILURE THAT WAS REMEDIED BY TURNING OFF ENGINE AND RESTARTING. THERE WERE NO PROBLEMS SINCE UNTIL TWO DAYS AGO WHEN THE BRAKES FAILED AGAIN. NISSAN HAS BEEN CONTACTED AND WE ARE EXPECTING A CALL BACK FROM A REGIONAL EXPERT AS TO HOW TO GET BRAKES FIXED. WE RECEIVED CALL FROM NISSAN DEALER THAT SAID THAT THEY DO NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS PROBLEM WITH OTHER NISSAN ARMADA'S AND THAT WE WOULD HAVE TO PAY TO GET IT LOOKED AT. THIS CAR ONLY HAS 13,500 MILES ON IT. WE ARE VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY SINCE THIS IS A COMPLETELY RANDOM BRAKE FAILURE OCCURRENCE AND IS REMEDIED BY RESTARTING CAR AND IS DIFFICULT TO DUPLICATE. THE SYMPTOMS INCLUDE VERY LOUD SOUND IN ENGINE BAY FOLLOWED BY BRAKE PEDAL SINKING TO FLOOR AND NO BRAKES ACTIVATING. *TR
I OWN A NISSAN ARMADA (2005). WHILE DRIVING NORMALLY IN HIGHWAY CONDITIONS, THE VEHICLE HAS STALLED OUT AND QUIT RUNNING ON 3 OCCASIONS. AFTER THE FIRST INCIDENT, I HAD IT TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP BUT NO WORK WAS DONE SINCE THEY COULD NOT GET THE VEHICLE TO REPEAT THE PROBLEM. ABOUT A MONTH LATER THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED BACK THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN. THIS TIME I WAS TOLD THE PROBLEM WAS RELATED TO THE "INTEGRATED POWER DISTRIBUTION MODULE (IPDM). AFTER LOOKING UP THIS PROBLEM ON THE INTERNET, I DISCOVERED THAT THIS HAS BEEN A CONTINUING PROBLEM WITH BOTH OLDER AND NEWER ARMADAS (AS WELL AS OTHER NISSANS). I DO NOT KNOW IF THERE HAVE BEEN CRASHES RESULTING FROM THIS PROBLEM BUT I DO FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT NISSAN NEEDS TO ADDRESS. *TR

I WAS RECENTLY INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT ON JANUARY 2, 2010 , I HAVE A 2005 NISSAN ARMADA AS I WAS I WAS MAKING A LEFT TURN FROM MY HOME ADDRESS ON LORENZO DRIVE INTO THE INTERSECTION OF WEBBLYNN ROAD AND LORENZO DRIVE, AS I BEGAN MAKING MY TURN I WAS DISTRACTED FOR A WHAT I THOUGHT WAS ONLY A SECOND, BUT THAT TIME WAS LONG ENOUGH FOR MY VEHICLE'S RIGHT FRONT TIRE WAS TO CLOSE TO THE CURVE IN MY TURN AND THE VEHICLE JUMPED THE CURVE AND HIT A TELEPHONE POLE CAUSING EXTENSIVE FRONT END DAMAGE TO MY TRUCK MOSTLY TO THE FRONT AND RIGHT PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE, CRACKING THE TELEPHONE POLE AND CAUSING IT SHIFT IT'S POSITION IN THE GROUND, MY HEAD SLAMMED INTO THE STEERING WHEEL WITH SUCH FORCE THAT MY HEAD BENT THE STEERING WHEEL. MY HEAD WAS BLEEDING I HAD A NOT ON MY FOR HEAD, NONE OF MY AIR BAG DEPLOYED DRIVER NOR PASSENGER BAG. THERE WAS A LETTER I GOT FROM NISSAN RECALL P7245(ARM-QST AIRBAG ECU NTB07 CAUSE, P72450 INSPECT AIR BAG SENSOR CONTROL UNIT. I TOOK THE VEHICLE IN TO WHERE I BOUGHT IT AT DON DAVIS NISSAN 1320 INTERSTATE 20 ARLINGTON , TEXAS 76011, THEY SAD THE HAD CHECKED OUT THE AIR BAG SYSTEM AND THAT IT WAS FUNCTIONING OK,THIS WAS ON JAN 7, 9:16 RETURNED TO ME AT 17:14 JAN 7,08 . I CONTACTED NISSAN AND INFORM THE ABOUT MY AIR NOT DEPLOYING, AND WHAT INSUED, FOLLOWING THE ACCIDENT. I AM STILL TO THIS DATE HAVING HEAD PAIN DOWN THE RIGHT SIDE OF MY FACE AND AROUND MY RIGHT EYE SOCKET AND MY NECK WHEN MY HEAD HIT THE STEERING WHEEL AND BOUNCED BACK , I WAS SCHEDULE FOR A HEAR XRAY BUT HAD SOME PROBLEMS WITH MY MEDICAL INSURANCE, TRYING TO GET THIS RESOLVED. 4X4 FRONT DIFFERENTIAL PINION SEAL BLEW OUT WHILE DRIVING THROUGH A DEADLY SNOW BLIZZARD TO GET HOME. THIS IS THE 2ND PINION SEAL ON THE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL THAT'S BEEN REPLACED. THE FIRST WAS AT ABOUT 40K MILES AND THE SECOND AT AROUND 68K MILES. FRONT DIFFERENTIAL FAILURES ARE BECOMING COMMON IN NISSAN TITANS AND ARMADAS, ESPECIALLY WHEN USED TO DRIVE HOME THROUGH SNOW STORMS WHEN THEY'RE NEEDED THE MOST. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN ARMADA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED WHILE SHE WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH. IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE VEHICLE STALLED, THE POWER STEERING FAILED. SHE HAD TO WAIT 25 MINUTES IN ORDER TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ONCE EVERY TWO MONTHS BUT PROGRESSED AND WAS NOW A WEEKLY OCCURRENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL MECHANIC WHO PERFORMED A TUNE UP AND CHANGED THE OIL; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO OCCUR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALER WHO WAS PERFORMING A DIAGNOSTIC TEST WHEN THE COMPLAINT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT VIEWED INFORMATION ON THE INTERNET THAT INDICATED THAT THE INTEGRATED POWER DISTRIBUTION MODULE MIGHT HAVE CAUSED THE FAILURE TO OCCUR. THE CONTACT HAD NOT SPOKEN WITH THE MANUFACTURER. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 108,000. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 90,000.
BRAKE LOCK UP WHILE DRIVING RESULTING IN ABRUPT STOP OF VEHICLE. *TR
2005 NISSAN ARMADA.. HAVE A HOLE IN RADIATOR THAT NEEDS REPLACEMENT. HAS HAPPENED TWICE WITHIN THE PAST TWO MONTHS. HAD IT REPLACED IN AUGUST WHILE ON VACATION THEN LAST WEEK SMELLED THE ANTIFREEZE AND I TOOK IT TO A DEALER AND THEY SAID THERE IS A WHOLE IN THE CENTER OF THE RADIATOR AND WE NEED A NEW RADIATOR. WE HAVE A GUARD ON BOTTOM OF TRUCK TO PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING AND DEALER SAYS THIS IS A RARE OCCURRENCE WITH THIS MODEL. PURCHASED THE EXTENDED WARRANTY AND IT IS CURRENTLY SITTING AT THE DEALER WAITING TO HAVE AN INSPECTOR COME AND SEE IT SO THE WARRANTY COMPANY CAN DECIDE IF IT WILL BE COVERED. IM STILL WAITING FOR A DECISION ON THE FIRST ONE WHICH WE PAID OUT OF POCKET. *TR
VEHICLE: 2005 NISSAN ARMADA FAILURE: COMPLETE FAILURE OF THE BRAKE SYSTEM INCIDENT: WHILE DRIVING LOST COMPLETE BRAKE SYSTEM, LEAVING ME WITH NO ABILITY TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE PROBLEM RESOLVED ITSELF BY RESTARTING THE VEHICLE. RESOLUTION: I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THEY COULD NOT REPEAT THE ISSUE AND THAT THEY WOULD "REFLASH" THE ECM THAT "SHOULD" CORRECT THE PROBLEM. AFTER RESEARCHING THIS I FOUND MANY OTHER OWNER OF 2004 - 2007 NISSAN ARMADA AND TITAN VEHICLE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM IS BEST DESCRIBED AS AN INTERMITTENT COMPLETE FAILURE OF THE BRAKE SYSTEM THAT IS RESOLVED BY RESTARTING THE VEHICLE. AFTER MANY COMPLAINTS TO NISSAN AND THE DEALER THEY DECIDED TO REPLACE THE POWER BRAKE BOOSTER SAYING THAT ANY COMPONENT FAILURE THAT CAUSES THIS MUST BE CONTAINED IN THE BRAKE BOOSTER. THEY ALSO STATED THAT THEY HAVE REPLACED OTHER CUSTOMERS BRAKE BOOSTERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE THAT NISSAN NEEDS TO MAKE THERE CUSTOMERS AWARE OF!!!! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN ARMADA. THE CONTACT WAS DECELERATING TO EXIT THE FREEWAY WHEN SHE HEARD AN UNUSUAL GRINDING NOISE. SHE ATTEMPTED TO ENGAGE THE BRAKES BUT TO NO AVAIL. SHE THEN MOVED THE VEHICLE OFF THE ROADWAY AND SHUT OFF THE ENGINE. WHEN RESTARTING, THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. THE DEALER PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC AND DISCOVERED THAT THE VEHICLE COMPUTER WOULD NEED TO BE REPROGRAMMED TO REPAIR THE BRAKING SYSTEM. THE VEHICLE WAS LEFT WITH THE DEALER AWAITING REPAIRS. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
I WAS DRIVING TO WORK WHEN DRIVING A FRWY SPEED THE TRUCK SPUTTERED AND SHUT OF WHEN I WAS ON THE FAST LANE. I HAD TO LET THE TRUCK ROLL OFF THE FRWY. THE GAS TANK INDICATED THAT I HAD 1/4 TANK LEFT. I ADDED GAS BECAUSE THE TRUCK WAS TRYING TO CRANK OVER. THE TRUCK THEN STARTED UP RIGHT AWAY, I COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT IF I DIDN'T THINK QUICKLY ABOUT GETTING OFF THE FRWY, COULD HAVE BEEN REAR ENDED IF I WAS INEXPERIENCED. I KNOW FUEL PUMP SENDING UNIT IS BAD IN THESE TRUCKS AND THERE HAS TO BE A SOLUTION TO GET THIS PROBLEM FIXED. *TR
LIKE MANY OTHERS, WHEN APPLYING BRAKES, HARSH GRINDING NOISE AND INABILITY TO BRAKE EASILY. THE PROBLEM GOES AWAY WHEN CAR RE-STARTED. HAS HAPPENED ABOUT 25 TIMES IN 3 YEARS. SEEMS TO BE COMPUTER ISSUE BUT NEVER HAPPENS WHEN AT SERVICE CENTER. WHEN MY WIFE DROVE THE CAR , THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED SHOOK HER QUITE A BIT AS SHE WAS IN HIGH TRAFFIC AREA GOING ABOUT 40 MPH. IT IS UNSAFE TO TURN THE ENGINE OFF AND ON WHILE DRIVING BUT THIS IS ONLY WAY TO GET BRAKES OPERATING. *TR
I HAVE A 2005 NISSAN ARMADA THAT HAS HAD ANTI LOCK BRAKES ENGAGING AT ALL DIFFERENT TIMES IN CONDITIONS THAT IT SHOULD NOT BE ENGAGING IN(EXAMPLE:SUNNY, CLEAR ROAD ,90 DEGREE SUMMER WEATHER)THIS LEAVES ME WITH VERY LITTLE BRAKING ABILITY.THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE ESPECIALLY WHEN I HAVE SMALL CHILDREN IN MY VEHICLE. I HAVE BROUGHT IT TO THE NISSAN SERVICE DEPT. SEVERAL TIMES AND THEY TELL ME THAT EVERYTHING IS FINE AND CANNOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. I HAVE GOOGLED THE PROBLEM ON THE NET AND FOUND NUMEROUS SITES WITH PAGES UPON PAGES OF COMPLAINTS OVER THIS SAME PROBLEM WITH MY EXACT SCENARIOS OF DRIVING CONDITIONS AND WHAT HAPPENS TO THE VEHICLE. I PROCEEDED TO NISSAN HEADQUARTERS TO EXPLAIN MY PROBLEM AND THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT NISSAN HAS FAILED TO HELP. THEY REFUSE TO RECOGNIZE THAT THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE HAPPENING TO NUMEROUS NISSAN ARMADAS YEARS 2004 THRU 2006. I SAID I WANT A RENTAL PAID FOR BY THEM AND I WANT NISSAN TO KEEP THE CAR TILL THEY CAN RECTIFY THIS OBVIOUS WIDE KNOWN SAFETY PROBLEM. THEY TOLD ME THAT NISSAN IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS PROBLEM NOR ACKNOWLEDGES IT & THAT THE VEHICLE OWNERS ARE AND AT VEHICLE OWNERS COST TO DROP OFF THE VEHICLE FOR A UNDETERMINED AMOUNT OF TIME(THIS COULD BE A WEEK TO MANY WEEKS BEFORE PROBLEM OCCURS AGAIN & IT IS STATED BY NUMEROUS OWNERS THAT IS HOW UNDETERMINED WHEN IT HAPPENS)TILL THEY CAN HOPEFULLY REPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND REPAIR IT AT OWNERS COST ALONG WITH RENTAL VEHICLE COST. THIS IS NOT A WEAR AND TEAR PROBLEM CAUSED BY THE OWNERS OF THIS VEHICLE MODEL THIS IS A MANUFACTURE DEFECT THAT NISSAN REFUSES TO ADMIT AND CREATE A RECALL ON THIS ANTI LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM. THEY ALSO PROCEEDED TO TELL ME THAT IF I CAN'T AFFORD A RENTAL FOR WHO KNOWS HOW MANY WEEKS THAT IT COULD BE TO WAIT TILL THE PROBLEM OCCURS MYSELF AND DRIVE IT TO THE DEALER. THAT IS A UNACCEPTABLE UNSAFE ANSWER FORM THEM TO TELL THE CONSUMER TO DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE TILL YOU HAVE NO BRAKES THEN BRING IT IN. SOMETHING MUST BE DONE! *TR
LAST WEEK WE VACATIONED IN GATLINBURG, TENN...AT OUR FAMILY REUNION IN THE MOUNTAIN AT A CHALET .....I PURCHASED MY 2005 NISSAN ARMADA AND IT HAD 50000 MILES ON IT INAPRIL. AT 53000 I WAS DESCENDING THE MOUNTAIN AND IN MY OPINION NOT RIDING THE BRAKES, ALTHOUGH I DELAYED INTO SHIFTING IN TO LOW. THE GRADE ON THE DESCENT WAS VERY STEEP AND ALL I REMEMBER IS THE BRAKE LIGHT AND A LOUD NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE AND A GRADUAL THEN DRAMATIC DECREASE IN MY BRAKABILITY. I WAS SHAKEN AND PULLED OVER. IN A COUPLE OF MINUTES I PROCEEDED A LITTLE MORE AND FOUND THE BRAKE TO ALMOST DISAPPEAR. I LUCKILY FOUND A DRIVEWAY ON AN INCLINE AND PULLED UP AND PUT IT IN PARK. I SAT AND WONDERED WHAT TO DO BECAUSE I WAS IN SUCH A DANGEROUS MOUNTAIN CURVE THAT WAS DIFFICULT TO GET HELP IN. WHEN I CALMED DOWN, I CALLED MY BROTHERS TO HELP ME AND LET THEM KNOW MY LOCATION. WHEN I SAW A CHANCE I PUT THE VEHICLE IN REVERSE AND BACKED UP, PUTTING THE ARMADA IN DRIVE TO REACH A PULL OFF POINT GOING UPHILL. I SHUT THE NISSAN OFF AND GOT OUT AND WAITED. AFTER A HALF AN HOUR MY BROTHERS SHOWED UP AND DROVE THE VEHICLE WITHOUT ANY PROBLEM. THEY TOLD ME I JUST RODE MY BRAKES AND NEEDED TO LET THEM COOL OFF, BUT I THOUGHT THEY WERE RIGHT UNTIL I RECEIVED THIS LIST OF COMPLAINTS AND HEAR THE SAME SYMPTOMS I EXPERIENCED.....I WILL WATCH FOR THIS AGAIN AND SINCE WE HAVE A 6000 LBS FAMILY TRAILER WE HAVEN'T USE YET -I AM EAGER TO GET THE SOLUTION. NISSAN NEEDS TO TROUBLESHOOT THIS PROBLEM AND RESOLVE THE COMPUTER GLITCH BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED. I AM A EXPERIENCED SCHOOL BUS DRIVER AND AN OFF ROAD LOVER AND I WAS ABLE TO HANDLE THE SITUATION.......I WOULD NOT LIKE AN INEXPERIENCED DRIVER TO HAVE THE SAME SITUATION. I HAD NO PARTS REPLACED BECAUSE MY FAMILY CONVINCED ME I WAS AT FAULT AND RODE THE BRAKES HEATING THEM UP, AND I JUST HAD NEW BRAKES BEFORE WE LEFT ON VACATION. *TR
THE FIRST INCIDENT TOOK PLACE APPROXIMATELY 1 YEAR AFTER PURCHASE, BUT IT WAS NOT AS SEVERE, SO I WILL BEGIN WITH THE FIRST SEVERE OCCURRENCE, WHICH TOOK PLACE IN THE SUMMER OF 2009. AT ABOUT 55 MILES PER HOUR THE VEHICLE SHAKES, AND THE STEERING SEEMED A BIT LOOSE. BUT BECAUSE I LIKE MY NISSAN, I JUST DROVE IT VERY CAREFULLY. THEN IN 2014, IT BECAME ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO CONTROL. I BEGAN TO RESEARCH PROBLEMS THAT OTHERS WERE HAVING AS ORIGINALLY I THOUGHT THE PROBLEM I WAS HAVING WAS RELATED TO THE BRAKE SYSTEM. BUT IT WAS SHAKING EVEN WITHOUT APPLYING THE BRAKES. I HAVE OWNED VEHICLES THAT COST CONSIDERABLY LESS, AND I HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WHERE THE STEERING SHAFT CONNECTION TO THE RACK AND PINION ASSEMBLY BECAME SO WORN THAT BOTH THE STEERING SHAFT AND THE RACK AND PINION ASSEMBLY HAD TO BE REPLACED. THIS SEEMS TO BE AN ENGINEERING DEFECT OR POOR WORKMANSHIP, AND A DEFINITE SAFETY HAZARD, AND IF I HAD NOT HAD THE PRESENCE OF MIND TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT, OR THE FINANCES TO HAVE IT REPAIRED, IT WOULD CERTAINLY HAVE RESULTED IN A CAR CRASH AND POSSIBLE LOSS OF LIFE, AS WHEN THE STEERING STARTED TO DEGRADE WITHOUT MY APPLYING THE BRAKES, IT DEGRADED QUITE RAPIDLY. I PAID AUTO-NATION NISSAN OF MEMPHIS $1989.60 TO REPAIR, AND IT ONLY PUT ME BACK TO THE POINT WHERE THE SHUDDERING OR SHAKING ONLY OCCURS WHEN I APPLY THE BRAKES. I WOULD NOT BE ABLE IN GOOD CONSCIOUS TO SALE THIS VEHICLE TO ANYONE, THOUGH I AM SURE THAT NORTH AMERICAN NISSAN WOULD HAVE NO PROBLEM DOING SO. *TR
I HAVE A 2005 NISSAN ARMADA. I WAS DRIVING AND STARTING TO BRAKE WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN MY BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON AND A LOUD GRINDING NOISE WAS HEARD FROM THE FRONT OF MY ARMADA. I ALMOST LOST BRAKING CAPABILITY. I APPLIED THE BRAKES AGAIN AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED WITH THE LOUD NOISE AND LIMITED BRAKING ABILITY. I PULLED OVER ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND RESTARTED THE TRUCK AND THE PROBLEM WAS GONE FOR THAT MOMENT. A FEW WEEKS LATER, IT HAPPENED AGAIN, SO I TOOK IT INTO THE NISSAN DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME IT WAS A CODE ERROR AND IT HAD BEEN RESET (IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY THEN). WELL, IT HAS SINCE HAPPENED ABOUT 10 MORE TIMES. I HAD MY HUSBAND TAKE IT TO ANOTHER NISSAN DEALER AND THEY TOLD HIM IT WAS THE BRAKE BOOSTER, AND WOULD COST APPROXIMATELY $900 TO FIX. WE DID NOT PAY THE MONEY TO HAVE FIXED. THE LAST INCIDENT WAS THIS MORNING WITH MY TWO SMALL DAUGHTERS IN THE TRUCK WITH ME. I WAS IN 3 LANES OF TRAFFIC AND WAS STARTING TO APPLY THE BRAKES, WHEN THE BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE VDC LIGHT AND TWO OTHER PANEL LIGHTS. THIS MORNING, IT WAS THE WORST IT HAD BEEN SINCE IT STARTED. I NORMALLY HAVE A LITTLE BIT OF BRAKES, BUT THIS MORNING WHEN I TAPPED THE BRAKES, IT BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO A COMPLETE SUDDEN STOP IN 3 LANES OF TRAFFIC, THEN, I LET OFF THE BRAKE AND TRIED TO EASE UP AND REAPPLY THE BRAKES AND IT BROUGHT IT TO A COMPLETE STOP AGAIN. I TURNED THE TRUCK OFF AND IT CLEARED ITSELF. I CALLED MY HUSBAND AND TOLD HIM. ONCE I GOT TO WORK, I STARTED TO DO SOME RESEARCH AND I FIND THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY PERSON EXPERIENCING THIS PROBLEM! I HAVE A 2005 NISSAN ARMADA. WHILE DRIVING THE ABS AND EMERGENCY BRAKE LIGHT WOULD START FLASHING. WHEN I COME TO A STOP THE BRAKING SYSTEM STARTS TO MAKE A LOUD GRINDING NOISE LIKE THE ABS HAS KICKED IN AND WONT DISENGAGE. I HAVE A 2005 NISSAN ARMADA AND THE BRAKES HAVE BEEN GIVING ME PROBLEMS SINCE I BOUGHT THE SUV. INITIALLY IT WAS ONLY WARPED ROTORS AND EXCESSIVE BRAKE PAD WEAR, BUT NOW THE BRAKES HAVE NEARLY FAILED ON ME THREE TIMES. WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKES, IT APPEARS THAT THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKES KICK IN, THE BRAKE PEDAL DEPRESSES FURTHER, AND A LOUD GROANING NOISE CAN BE HEARD EMANATING FROM THE BRAKES. THIS PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED THREE TIMES IN THE RAIN UNDER VERY MODERATE BRAKING CONDITION (PARKING LOT CONDITIONS) AND WHEN THE PARKING BRAKE HAS BEEN USED DUE TO PARKING ON A HILL. WHEN THE EVENT OCCURS THE PARKING LIGHT , THE SLIP, AND VDC LIGHTS COMES ON. *TR
WE HAVE A 2005 NISSAN ARMADA (WHICH WAS PURCHASED NEW) IT HAS HAD AN ISSUE WHERE THE "BRAKE" LIGHT COMES ON AND THERE IS RAPID PULSATING/GRINDING NOISE FROM THE BRAKE SYSTEM. DURING THIS EVENT, THE BRAKE STOPPING DISTANCE IS SEVERELY IMPACTED AND BRAKING IS DANGEROUSLY INCONSISTENT. WE HAVE BROUGHT VEHICLE INTO NISSAN DEALER AND BEEN TOLD BECAUSE THERE "IS NO CURRENT STORED CODE" THEY COULD NOT DO ANYTHING FOR US AND THAT WE NEEDED "TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE IN WHILE THIS EVENT OCCURRED", SO THEY COULD SEE WHAT HAPPENED. THERE IS NO WAY IT WOULD BE REMOTELY SAFE TO DO SO!!!! NISSAN YOU ARE REQUESTING A VERY UNSAFE PROCEDURE!!!!!! EACH TIME THIS BRAKE ISSUE HAS HAPPENED (AT LEAST 6 WITH MY WIFE AND 1 WITH ME), WE WERE FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO PULL THE VEHICLE OVER AND TURN IT OFF. IN DOING SO IT APPEARS THE VEHICLE "RESET" AND ONCE TURNED BACK ON THE VEHICLE APPEARED TO OPERATE PROPERLY. HERE ARE OUR OCCURRENCES: - ONCE ON/OR AROUND 9/2005- DIDN'T THINK MUCH AT THIS POINT AS WE ALREADY HAD HEARD ABOUT ISSUES WITH ROTORS AND THOUGHT THAT WAS CONNECTED - 4/23/2007- WENT TO DEALER - 8/13/2008- CALLED DEALER TOLD TO DRIVE IT IN WHILE IT WAS HAPPENING BY DEALER - RIGHT BEFORE 10/8/2008 ON 10/8 WE BROUGHT INTO DEALER FOR THIS PROBLEM AND A COUPLE OTHER ISSUES - 5/14/2009 - 5/18/2009 - 5/26/2009 IT HAPPENED TO ME WITH BOTH OF MY GRADE SCHOOL BOYS ON VACATION IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA. THE VEHICLE HAD A VERY CLEAR ISSUE AND I HAD TO MAKE SOME TOUGH TRAFFIC NEGOTIATIONS TO GET OFF OF THE FREEWAY. ONCE OFF I TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE AND SAT THERE FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. I TURNED IT BACK ON AND LUCKILY MADE IT TO MY DESTINATION WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. I WILL BE SPEAKING WITH THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP AGAIN, TO GIVE THEM ONE LAST CHANCE TO TRY AND FIX THIS ISSUE. IN MARCH 2009 MY 2005 NISSAN ARMADA, WHICH I BOUGHT NEW IN LATE 2004, STARTED TO HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THE BRAKES. THE RED WARNING LAMPS LIGHT UP AND THE CAR LOST MOST OF ITS BRAKING POWER, LIKE NOT HAVING ANY SERVO SUPPORT. THERE WERE ALSO NOISE AND A SOFT PULSING FEELING. WE FOUND THAT IF WE TURNED OF THE ENGINE AND THEN STARTED IT AGAIN, EVERYTHING WORKED FINE. NISSAN COULD NOT FIND ANY FAULTS WITH THE CAR. THE PROBLEM REPEATED ITSELF 4-6 TIMES A YEAR. NISSAN COULD STILL NOT FIND ANY FAULTS THEY COULD NOT REPEAT THE FAULT WHEN THEY HAD THE CAR IN FOR TESTS. IN JULY 2012, ON MY ANNUAL SERVICE, I ASKED AGAIN ABOUT THE BRAKES. I WAS THEN TOLD THAT OTHER CUSTOMERS HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AND THAT THEY NOW HAS A SOLUTION FOR THE PROBLEM. I AM SURPRISED THAT NISSAN HAS NOT RECALLED THE FAILING BRAKES. NISSAN'S ANSWER IS STILL THAT THERE WAS NO PROBLEM. I HAVE THE WORK PAPERS TO SHOW WHAT WAS NEEDED TO FIX THE PROBLEM. *TR
BRAKE LIGHT COMES ABS FAILS AND MAKES GRINDING NOISE. WHEN I SHUT THE CAR OFF IT RESETS THE COMPUTER LIGHT GOES OFF THEN ITS BACK TO NORMAL. *TR

THE VEHICLE THEN HAS TO BE PUT IN PARK, THE ENGINE THEN HAS TO BE TURNED OFF. YOU THEN HAVE TO WAIT A FEW SECONDS AND RESTART VEHICLE. IF THIS IS NOT DONE THE LIGHT DOESNT GO OFF AND THE BRAKING IS THE SAME. ALSO THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR LOCK WORKS RANDOMLY. I HAVE THIS PROBLEM ALSO WITH MY INFINITI G35 WHICH IS ALSO MADE BY NISSAN, I HAVE TWO FRIENDS THAT OWN NISSAN VEHICLES THAT EXPERIENCE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THEIR DOOR LOCK ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE. *TR

WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS, THE BRAKE, VDC, SLIP, AIR BAG, AND TIRE PRESSURE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. SUDDENLY, A CHIME SOUNDED INSIDE THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT AND AUTOMATICALLY STOPPED WITHOUT ASSISTANCE. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT SMELLED A BURNING ODOR INSIDE THE VEHICLE THE DAY BEFORE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO THE AIR BAG HARNESS. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 11,293. BACKING OUT OF A DRIVEWAY, I PUSHED ON THE BRAKES SOFTLY AND IT SOUNDED LIKE A DEEP, MECHANICAL GROAN. I DIDN'T REALLY THINK ANYTHING OF IT UNTIL I REACHED MY FIRST STOP. I APPLIED PRESSURE ON THE BRAKE AND THE SOUND WAS THERE AGAIN. MY CHILDREN WERE IN THE VEHICLE AND THEY KEPT ASKING WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THE CAR. I DECIDED IT WOULD BE SAFER TO TAKE NEIGHBORHOOD SIDE-STREETS. I PROCEEDED VERY, VERY SLOWLY BECAUSE THE BREAKS WERE UNPREDICTABLE AT THAT POINT. I WAS SCARED TO APPLY ALL THE PRESSURE BECAUSE I WAS AFRAID THAT IF I PRESSED AS I NORMALLY DO , THE BRAKES WOULD JUST GIVE OUT, SO I PUSHED ON THE BRAKE VERY LIGHTLY, WHICH ONLY MADE IT WORSE BECAUSE THE SOFTER I PRESSED THE LESS IT FUNCTIONED, THE PEDAL JUST KEPT GOING DOWN- MAKING THAT DEEP METAL-GRINDING NOISE, IT TOOK A WHILE FOR THE BREAKS TO ACTUALLY KICK IT AND STOP THE VEHICLE. I DROVE ON EGG-SHELLS THE REST OF THE WAY HOME, THANK GOODNESS THERE WAS NOT MUCH TRAFFIC AT THE TIME, OTHERWISE I WOULD HAVE BEEN IN SERIOUS TROUBLE. REGARDING 2005 NISSAN ARMADA BRAKE ISSUE...I WAS DRIVING REACHING TO THE SPEED OF 35MPH AND WHEN I CAME TO A STOP AT INTERSECTION I NOTICE THAT MY BRAKE LIGHT WAS ON. APPLIED THE BRAKES AND THERE WAS NO BRAKES. YOU COULD HEAR NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT END LIKE METAL GRINDING. I PULLED OVER THE A PARKING LOT AND CHECK UNDER THE HOOD TO SEE IF THE BRAKE FLUID WAS LOW, BUT IT WAS FULL. DROVE THE CAR THE ELK GROVE NISSAN AND TOLD THEM WHAT HAD HAPPENED. IN RESPONSE, THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY CAN NOT FIND A PROBLEM AND CONTINUE DRIVING THE CAR UNTIL THE LIGHT COMES BACK ON AND DRIVE IT DIRECTLY TO THE DEALERSHIP SO THEY CAN PULL THE COLD. I TOLD THEM THAT THEY ARE CRAZY, BECAUSE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND I CAN PUT MY LIFE IN DANGER BY DRIVING THE SUV THERE WITHOUT PROPER BRAKES. THEY TOLD ME AT THE TIME, THEY CAN NOT HELP ME UNTIL THE LIGHT COMES BACK ON. I ASKED THE DEALERSHIP TO SEE IF THERE'S A RECALL OR BULLETIN OUT FOR THIS AND THEY TOLD ME NO. FURTHER INVESTIGATION NEEDS TO FOLLOW UP ON THIS BECAUSE TONS OF PEOPLE WHO OWNS THIS MODEL COULD DIE FROM ACCIDENTS DUE TO THE SUV HAVING THIS PROBLEM. ALSO, PROPER PROTOCOL NEEDS TO BE FOLLOW WITH THE MFG AND DEALERSHIP REGARDING THIS ISSUE. PLEASE ADVISE. I OWN A 2005 NISSAN ARMADA, AND I BELIEVE THIS VEHICLE NEEDS A RECALL. THIS VEHICLE HAS A REAR DOOR THAT LIFTS UP TO OPEN. THE LOCKING MECHANISM IS DEFECTIVE, AND WHEN IT BREAKS, THE REAR DOOR & WINDOW ARE IMPOSSIBLE TO OPEN. IF THIS VEHICLE WERE IN AN ACCIDENT & PASSENGERS IN THE REAR SEAT NEEDED TO GET OUT THROUGH THE REAR DOOR, THEY WOULD BE TRAPPED. THERE IS AN EMERGENCY RELEASE LEVER ON THE INTERIOR OF THE DOOR, BUT WHEN THE LOCK BREAKS - THIS ALSO BECOMES INOPERABLE. *TR

I WAS DRIVING IN A RESIDENTIAL AREA AND ATTEMPTED TO STOP AND I COULDN'T. THE BRAKES STARTED MAKING A GRINDING NOISE AND THE E-BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON. IT SLOWED DOWN ENOUGH FOR ME TO PULL TO THE SIDE AND FINALLY ABLE TO MAKE A COMPLETE STOP. I PUT IT IN PARK CHECKED THE E-BRAKE AND IT WASN'T ON AND PUT BACK INTO DRIVE WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS IN A SLOW ROLL I CHECKED THE BRAKES AND IT DID THE SAME THING. I PUT IT IN PARK TURNED IT OFF AND CALLED MT HUSBAND. WHEN TURNED HE TURNED IT BACK ON THE E-BRAKE LIGHT WAS OFF AND THE BRAKES WORKED. *TR
DRIVE MY NISSAN ARMADA ON 12/7/08 AND THE AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON WITH THE FLASHING SRS LIGHT. I HAVE THE EXTENDED WARRANTY SO I TAKE IT TO DEALERSHIP. DEALERSHIP TELLS ME IT'S THE SENSOR AND THAT IT WOULD BE $385 TO FIX AND IT'S NOT COVERED UNDER MY WARRANTY AS IT'S AN ELECTRICAL COMPONENT. SO I DO SOME RESEARCH AND SEE THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH 2005 ARMADAS (WHICH MINE IS AN 05) AND THAT THERE IS A VOLUNTARY SERVICE BULLETIN ISSUED WHICH STATES THAT THERE IS A KNOWN DEFECT AND THAT SOME DEALERSHIPS ARE FIXING AT THEIR DISCRETION FREE OF CHARGE. I CALL THE NISSAN HOTLINE (1-800-NISSAN1) AND ISSUE A COMPLAINT. NO ONE COULD HELP ME, THE LAST PERSON I SPOKE TO WAS THE REGIONAL SPECIALIST. I SAY THIS IS A KNOWN MANUFACTURE DEFECT AND THAT CUSTOMERS SHOULD NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THE MANUFACTURES MISTAKE. SO IN THE MEAN TIME, WE CONTACT OUR LOCAL DEALERSHIP, AGAIN. SPEAK WITH SERVICE MANAGER, HE SAYS THAT IF THERE WAS A COLLISION THE AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY, BUT THERE IS NOTHING THAT CAN BE DONE BECAUSE MY VEHICLE'S VIN NUMBER DOESN'T COME BACK WITH ANY ELIGIBLE RECALLS PERTAINING TO THAT. SO FAST FORWARD A WEEK TO 1/7/09, SEE ON MY LOCAL NEWS THERE IS A RECALL ON NISSAN TRUCKS. I LOOK UP THE RECALL AND SEE IT'S ON THE 2005-2009 FRONTIER, PATHFINDER, AND XTERRA THAT WAS EITHER PURCHASED OR REGISTERED IN COLD WEATHER CLIMATES. SO I CALL DEALERSHIP, HE PLUGS MY VIN INTO THE COMPUTER "THERE ARE NO RECALLS ON THIS VEHICLE" SO I CALL 1-800-NISSAN1 AGAIN..REFERENCE MY OLD TICKET AND ISSUE A NEW ONE. "REGIONAL SPECIALIST" CALLED BACK AND STATES THERE IS STILL NOTHING THAT COULD BE DONE FOR US. IN RESEARCHING THIS, THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM FOR 2005 ARMADAS, CUSTOMERS SHOULDN'T BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR DEFECT, ESPECIALLY IF IT INVOLVES THE LOSS OF THE USE OF AIRBAGS. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN ARMADA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE LIGHT CONSTANTLY ILLUMINATES ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND HE HEARD A LOUD NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE. THE STOPPING DISTANCE HAS INCREASED BECAUSE BRAKE PRESSURE IS LOST. THE FAILURE WAS NOTICED WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH. HE NORMALLY PULLS OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TURNS OFF THE VEHICLE TO ALLOW THE ABS LIGHT TO RESET. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED BRAKES AND THE ABS WAS NOT AT FAULT. THE DEALER DID NOT REPLACE THE BRAKES OR DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 23,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 35,000.
2005 NISSAN ARMADA. MY AIRBAG SENSOR LIGHT HAS TURNED ON AND REMAINED ON FOR NO APPARENT REASON. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT AND WAS RECENTLY SERVICED BY THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP ABOUT A WEEK AGO. PRIOR TO THE ISSUE OF THE AIR BAG LIGHT THE BRAKING SYSTEM APPEARS TO BE INTERMITTENT IN STOPPING THE SUV, WHICH IS ALSO FELT IN THE BRAKE PEDAL WHILE BRAKING. I HAVE ADDRESSED THIS TO THE DEALERSHIP BUT THEY COULD NOT IDENTIFY THE CAUSE. THIS ALL MAY OR MAY NOT BE RELATED BUT THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO THE SAFETY OF DRIVING. TO MY KNOWLEDGE SIMILAR PROBLEMS ARE ADDRESSED IN THE 2007 AND 2008 NISSANS VEHICLES BUT NOTHING YET FOR MY 05 ARMADA. HOW CAN YOU HELP? I HAVE A 2005 NISSAN ARMADA THAT IS EXPERIENCING INTERMITTENT BRAKE LIGHT/BRAKE FAILURE. THE SYMPTOMS HAPPEN AFTER INITIALLY TURNING ON THE VEHICLE AND DRIVING FOR ABOUT 200 YARDS. EXPLAINED TO DEALER WHAT HAD HAPPENED AND THEY TOLD ME THEY HAD HEARD ABOUT THIS TYPE OF PROBLEM BEFORE AND THAT NISSAN HAD RELEASED A SERVICE BULLETIN ABOUT IT. MY SERVICE ADVISOR TOLD ME THAT IT WAS A VDC (VEHICLE DYNAMIC CONTROL) MODULE FAILURE. HE WENT ON TO SAY THAT SOMETIMES YOU CAN TURN OFF THE VEHICLE AND TURN BACK ON AND IT WILL RESET ITSELF. VERY SCARY!!! I PURCHASED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY WHEN I PURCHASED MY ARMADA AND THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT THIS WAS NOT COVERED AND IT WOULD COST ME $115 TO FIX. I THINK NISSAN WOULD BE WELL ADVISED TO ISSUE A RECALL ABOUT THIS SITUATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR WERE OPERATING NORMALLY; THEREFORE, HE SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT AT AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR THE VEHICLE TO BE REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,700 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 27,900.
WHILE BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE AND APPLYING BRAKES, THE BRAKES SUDDENLY BEGAN TO GRIND AND SHUTTER VERY LOUDLY AND WOULDN'T FUNCTION PROPERLY - IT WAS AS IF THEY WERE LOCKED UP. I HAD TROUBLE WITH THE BRAKES WHEN WE FIRST PURCHASED THE CAR - BUT THIS IS THE FIRST TIME SINCE 2005. I PROCEEDED VERY SLOWLY TO MY LOCAL REPAIR SHOP (RPM AUTOMOTIVE) WHERE THEY DID A COMPUTER CHECK ON THE BRAKING SYSTEM. THEY HAD SEEN THIS SAME PROBLEM ON SEVERAL ARMADAS ALREADY THIS YEAR. THE REFERRED ME TO THE DEALERSHIP SINCE THEY DID NOT HAVE THE "CODE" NUMBER NEEDED TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. MY CAR IS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT. I WAS COMING TO A STOP LIGHT AND ALL OF A SUDDEN, THE BRAKE LIGHT INDICATOR LIGHT ON THE DASH CAME ON, THE VEHICLES BRAKE SYSTEM WAS ACTING ERRATIC EVERY TIME I PRESSED ON THE PEDAL. STARTED THE CAR AND THE AND THE BRAKE LIGHT ON THE DASH WENT AWAY AND SO DID THE PROBLEM. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME TWICE AND IS VERY UNSAFE WHEN DRIVING IN TRAFFIC. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES, I HAVE REPORTED IT TO THE DEALER 4 TIMES. EACH TIME THE CODE IS "CLEARED" BUT NOTHING IS DONE.
