WHILE DRIVING MY 2006 TAKING MY NINE YEAR OLD TO BOYSCOUT MEETING I APPLIED MY BRAKES TO STOP AT A RED LIGHT AND SEVERAL LIGHTS CAME ON MY DASHBOARD. THE LIGHTS INCLUDED ABS, BRAKE LIGHT AND SOME OTHER LIGHTS. THE VEHICLE MADE A LOUD GRINDING LIKE SOUND AND THE BRAKES SEEM TO GO OUT. I DID NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO SO I SLOWED DOWN AND SAT FRANTICALLY AT THE LIGHT. THEN I SLOWLY PULLED OVER IN THE PARKING LOT OF A SHOPPING CENTER AND STOPPED MY VEHICLE. I SAT THERE FOR ABOUT FIFTEEN MINUTES. I THEN STARTED THE CAR BACK UP AND PRECEDED TO MY DESTINATION. NOTHING HAPPENED AFTER THIS. ABOUT ONE MONTH I EXPERIENCED THE SAME TYPE OF BRAKING PROBLEM. I TOOK IT TO OUR LOCAL NISSAN SHOP THEY FOUND NOTHING TO BE WRONG. *TR
WHILE DRIVING LOW SPEEDS THE ABS SYSTEM FAILED AND NUMEROUS INDICATOR LIGHTS LITE UP ON THE DASH CLUSTER PANEL. THE BRAKE PEDAL ITSELF WAS VIBRATING AND REQUIRED MORE EFFORT TO STOP THE VEHICLE. DURING THE ISSUE, TURNING OFF THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY AND RESTARTING USUALLY RESOLVES THE ISSUE UNTIL THE NEXT TIME. THIS HAS OCCURRED OVER 40-50 TIME. CONTACTING THE DEALERSHIP RESULTED IN A $500 BILL TO FLUSH THE BRAKE SYSTEM AND RE-SURFACE THE BRAKE ROTORS. THE ISSUE STILL PERSISTS. *TR
I OWN A 2006 NISSAN ARMADA LE. IT HAS RECENTLY HAD SERIOUS BRAKING PROBLEMS, IT IS INTERMITTENT, IT DOESN'T HAPPEN CONSISTENTLY. APPROX. 2 WEEKS AGO I WAS DRIVING HOME WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE TRUCK, I WENT TO APPLY THE BRAKES AND THEY DID NOT ENGAGE AT ALL. I HAD NO BRAKING POWER, THEN IT STARTED MAKING GRINDING NOISES BUT I STILL COULD NOT STOP IN A SAFE MANNER. MY HUSBAND LOOKED AT THE CAR AND WE SWITCHED KEYS-MEANING WE TURNED THE TRUCK OFF THEN ON AGAIN. AFTER THE TRUCK WAS TURNED OFF THE BRAKES BEGAN TO PERFORM NORMALLY. WE TOOK THE TRUCK TO LES SCHWABB AND THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE BRAKES BUT THEY BLED THE SYSTEM AND PUT NEW FLUID IN. IT HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES SINCE AND THE FIX IS ALWAYS TURNING THE TRUCK OFF. I AND MY CHILDREN WERE PUT IN A VERY DANGEROUS POSITION ON A MAJOR ROAD. I LOOKED ON THE INTERNET AND THERE ARE PAGES AND PAGES OF PEOPLE THAT HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THEIR 2006 ARMADA'S. NISSAN NEEDS TO RECALL THESE VEHICLES IMMEDIATELY AND FIX THIS PROBLEM BEFORE MORE PEOPLE ARE INJURED. *TR
MY HUSBAND AND I WERE DRIVING BACK HOME AND OUR NISSAN ARMADA BREAKS FAILED. SENOR LIGHTS FLASH ON AND OFF ALL THE TIME. CLICKING SOUND WHEN DRIVING PARKED ETC. HORRIBLE SOUND FROM UNDER VEHICLE, AS I'M DRIVING. STEERING WHEEL SHAKES EVEN AFTER A WHEEL ALIGNMENT. CITY STREETS AND HIGHWAY. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO NISSAN AND THEY JUST BRUSH IT OFF AND SAY THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR TAKE IT FOR A LONG DRIVE.
2006 NISSAN ARMADA STALL ON FREEWAY WHILE DRIVING FLUIDS WERE CHECKED IN 3 DAYS AGO HAD A LITTLE OVER 1/4 TANK OF GAS. ENGINE SUDDENLY DIED ALMOST GOT REAR END IT BY A SEMI-TRUCK BARELY MADE SAFE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WITH A DEAD ENGINE MY FAMILY WAS VERY SCARE WE HAVE 4 CHILDREN WE'RE THANK FULL THAT NOTHING HAPPEN TO US WE TRY TO RESTART THE CAR BUT IT WAS DEAD, HAD TO CALL A TOW TRUCK. *TR
2006 NISSAN ARMADA VEHICLE DYNAMIC CONTROL AND BRAKE LIGHTS COME ON AND BRAKES FAILED. THE PROBLEM FIRST OCCURRED AS I WAS DRIVING ON A STRAIGHT, FLAT STREET AT ABOUT 40 MILES PER HOUR. PRESSING THE BRAKES CAUSES A LOUD CRUNCHING NOISE ON THE FRONT THAT SOUNDED LIKE THE BRAKES BEING CHEWED UP. IT HAS HAPPENED ABOUT FOUR TIMES IN ABOUT A 6-MONTH PERIOD BEFORE TAKING THE VEHICLE IN FOR THE RECENT RECALLS ON THE FUEL AND SOME UNDER THE VEHICLE PROBLEM. SINCE THAT TIME THE PROBLEM OCCURS CONSTANTLY. I TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY RAN TEST 59637 WHICH SHOWED CODE C1189 BOOSTER DEFECT. IT ALSO STATES THAT IS "UNSAFE TO DRIVE." I COULD NOT AFFORD A $1,200.00 REPAIR JOB SO THEY SAID THAT THEY COULD REPROGRAM IT TO SEE IF THAT WOULD SOLVE THE PROBLEM, AND IT DID NOT. I CONTACTED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS, AND THEY REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT BECAUSE THE WARRANTY HAD ALREADY RUN OUT. I COMPLAINED BECAUSE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND BECAUSE I HAVE SINCE LEARNED THAT THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM EXPERIENCED BY OTHER NISSAN ARMADA OWNERS. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE, AND IT SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BY NISSAN. BY THE WAY, THIS IS MY 5TH NISSAN VEHICLE AND I HAD NEVER HAD ANY JUST MAJOR PROBLEM. I KNOW THAT IF YOU OWN A VEHICLE THAT YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE TO HAVE IT REPAIRED PERIODICALLY. BUT I BELIEVE THAT THIS ONE NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BY NISSAN. *TR
ON AUGUST 11 2010 , WHILE I WAS DRIVING WITH MY 2 KIDS 6 AND 2 YRS OLD , MY 2006 NISSAN ARMADA CAUGHT ON FIRE , MY KIDS AND I WERE ABLE TO SMELL LIKE SOMETHING WAS BURNING, BUT WE WERE NOT ABLE TO SEE ANY SMOKE OR FIRE ANYWHERE AROUND US, IT WAS ABOUT 5 MINUTES LATER THAT MY DAUGHTER WAS ABLE TO SEE SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE TRUCK ,, SHE SAID THE SMOKE WENT BY HER WINDOW , I LOOKED THRU MY MIRRORS BUT I WAS NOT ABLE TO SEE ANYTHING , I LOOKED AT THE TEMPERATURE GAUGES ON THE DASHBOARD EVERYTHING SEEMED TO BE WORKING JUST FINE , SO I TOLD MY DAUGHTER IF IT WAS OUR CAR BURNING I SUPPOSED THERE WOULD BE AN INDICATOR THAT WOULD TELL US THAT SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE ,ABOUT 3 MINUTES LATER MY DAUGHTER SAID SHE SAW SMOKE AGAIN , SO MY FIRST THOUGHT WAS TO STOP AND CHECK , MAKE SURE WE WERE OK , I STOPPED A SOON AS I WAS ABLE TO GET OFF THE ROAD AND PARKED ON A SAFE PLACE. I STOPPED ABOUT 2 MINS LATER AFTER SHE TOLD ME . I TURNED THE MOTOR OFF AND GOT OUT OF THE TRUCK ,, SO I DECIDED TO GO AROUND AND CHECKED EVERYWHERE , WHEN I STARTED WALKING TOWARDS THE FRONT OF THE TRUCK , RIGHT ON FRONT OF THE HOOD I COULD SMELL LIKE BURNING VERY CLOSE AND VERY STRONG SMELL , AND THE NEXT THING I SEE AS I KNELT DOWN RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE TRUCK IS THE FAN ON FIRE . I COULD NOT BELIEVE WHAT MY EYES WHERE LOOKING AT, SO MY FIRST REACTION WAS TO GO BACK IN HE CAR AND GET MY KIDS OUT OF THE BURNING TRUCK,RIGHT AWAY SHE STARTED TO UNBUCKLE HER 2 YR OLD BROTHER . WE STARTED RUNNING TO GET AWAY FROM THE FIRE , WHILE I WAS CALLING 911.AFTER THE INVESTIGATION IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE FIRE WAS CAUSED DUE TO A MANUFACTURER DEFECT THAT THE TRUCK HAD ON THE COOLING FAN . THAT TRUCK HAD A RECALL ON JUNE 2008 , OF WHICH I NEVER HAD A NOTICE OF . UNTIL THIS DAY IM STILL WAITING ON ANY KIND OF RESPONSE FROM NISSAN.I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE BRAND NEW SO I WAS HOPING THAT NISSAN WOULD TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR IT , SINCE THEY ENDANGERED OUR LIVES. AND I THE VEHICLE WAS A TOTAL LOSS. *TR

THE DEALER WAS INFORMED ABOUT THE FAILURE AND REPLACED THE BRAKES UNDER WARRANTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THIS OCCURRED AGAIN AFTER THE BRAKES WERE REPLACED WHEN SHE APPLIED THE BRAKES AND THE VEHICLE DID NOT STOP. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AGAIN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 25,000.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN ARMADA LE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25-30 MPH DURING A RAIN STORM THE PARKING BRAKE, ABS, VDC AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS ILLUMINATED ON THE DASHBOARD. HE HEARD A LOUD NOISE COMING FROM THE BRAKES WHEN THEY WERE ENGAGED. HE ALSO STATED THAT THE SPEEDOMETER WAS MOVING UP AND DOWN AND THE VEHICLE BECAME HESITANT WHILE DRIVING. HE DROVE ONTO THE EMERGENCY LANE AND TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF. WITHIN A FEW MINUTES THE VEHICLE STARTED BUT THE SPEEDOMETER WAS NOT WORKING AND SOME OF THE WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE DEALER ADVISED HIM THAT THE ABS COMPUTER HAD BURNED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,300 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 51,327.
EMERGENCY BRAKE LIGHT HAS COME ON WHEN DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS. WHEN TRYING TO STOP, THE CAR HAS LOW BRAKING POWER AND GRINDS AND JUMPS. ALMOST IN 3 ACCIDENTS NOW. YOU HAVE TO STOP AND TURN THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON. THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS OUT THERE. NISSAN PLAYS DUMB AND TRIES TO CHARGE YOU $180 DIAGNOSTIC CHARGE AND THEN $900 FOR A BRAKE BOOSTER. NEEDS TO BE RECALLED IMMEDIATELY. WHY HAS THE NHTSA NOT INVESTIGATED??? *TR
MY 06 NISSAN ARMARDA HAS OVER 78000 MILES ON IT. ONE DAY WITHOUT WARNING, THE BRAKE LIGHT GOES ON - THE SOUND THAT THE ABS MAKES WHEN ITS IN USE HAPPENS & BRAKES BECOME SPONGY. IT FELT LIKE THEY FELL RIGHT OUT THE BOTTOM. NEXT MORNING IT WAS AT MY LOCAL GOOD YEAR. THEY REPLACED THE CALIPERS, AND BRAKE PADS - ALL WAS WELL, SO I THOUGHT. 2 WEEKS LATE THE SAME THING. BACK IT WENT TO THE SHOP & NOTHING COULD BE FOUND SINCE THIS DEFECT SEEMS TO CORRECT ITSELF WHEN THE TRUCK IS TURNED OFF. THIS 3RD TIME IT HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING 30 MILES AN HOUR, JUST A SLIGHT TAP & THE BRAKES WERE LOST. I DROVE IT RIGHT TO THE SHOP & THE MECHANIC WAS ABLE TO HEAR THE GRINDING SINCE I NEVER PUT THE TRUCK IN PARK. BUT THE NEXT DAY THEY WEREN'T ABLE TO DUPLICATE IT. I NOW HAVE AN APPOINTMENT AT THE NISSAN DEALER. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH IT SOUNDS LIKE SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE ABS COMPONENTS. THANKFULLY FOR GEICOS MECHANICAL BREAKDOWN INSURANCE SO FAR I'VE ONLY HAD TO PAY THE $250 DEDUCTIBLE. ITS GOOD FOR UP TO 7 YEARS/100,000 MILES. *TR
WHEN STARTING OUT FROM A PARKED POSITION, SOMETIMES THE BRAKES WILL MAKE A GRINDING NOISE WHEN PRESSED. IF YOU HIT YOUR BRAKES DURING THIS PERIOD THERE IS A GRIND PULSATING FEELING IN THE BRAKES. I DON'T KNOW IF THE BRAKES ARE REALLY EVEN WORKING DURING THIS TIME, BUT THE ONLY THE WAY TO CLEAR THIS IS TO SOMEHOW STOP THE CAR WITHOUT DESTROYING SOMETHING AND TURNING THE CAR OFF AND THEN RESTARTING IT. THIS SEEMS TO FIX THE PROBLEM. BUT IT WILL INTERMITTENTLY DO IT AGAIN IN ABOUT A MONTH OR SO. IS NISSAN DOING ANYTHING ABOUT THIS PROBLEM? I NEVER REALLY FEEL SECURE DRIVING BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW IF THIS WILL HAPPEN WHEN I 'M AT FULL SPEED AND REALLY NEED THE BRAKES! *TR

IN ADDITION, WHEN DECELERATING TO A STOP, THE BRAKES WOULD GRIND AND RATTLE ABNORMALLY. THE PARKING BRAKE LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED EVEN WHEN THE BRAKE WAS NOT ENGAGED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE PARKING BRAKE SENSOR WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT REPORTED THE FAILURE TO THE MANUFACTURER WHO OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 67,000 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 60,000.

WHENEVER THE BRAKES WERE BEING DEPRESSED THERE WAS A LOUD GRINDING NOSE AND THE CONTACT HAD TO APPLY EXTREME PRESSURE TO THE BRAKES IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERS SEVERAL TIMES FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO REPAIR OR DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 44,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 77,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PRIVATE REPAIR SHOP WHERE THE BRAKE PADS WHERE REPLACED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE, BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
DOOR LATCH INOPERABLE - UNABLE TO EXIT VEHICLE IF THERE WERE AN EMERGENCY, UNABLE TO ACCESS SLOT TO RELEASE SPARE TIRE, UNSURE IF DOOR IS SECURE FOR SAFELY OPERATING THE VEHICLE AS RELEASE WAS ATTEMPTED.

RANDOMLY WHILE DRIVING ABS SYSTEM SEEMS TO ENGAGE AND NORMAL BRAKE FUNCTION IS LOST. USUALLY THIS OCCURS AFTER A STOP AND BEGINS NEXT TIME I PRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL. OCCURS ABOUT ONCE A MONTH. TO RESOLVE IT WE HAVE TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND RESTART THE CAR. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN ARMADA. THE CONTACT NOTICED THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WHEEL WAS FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE SHOULD NOT BE EQUIPPED WITH CHROME WHEELS. THE CHROME WHEELS WERE PURCHASED AND INSTALLED AT AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHEN THE CONTACT ORIGINALLY PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. A USED WHEEL WAS PURCHASED AND INSTALLED AS A REPLACEMENT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 118,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 118,800.

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE BRAKE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE BRAKE PEDAL FELT SPUNGY WHEN DEPRESSED. DURING THE FAILURE, THE BRAKES SOUNDED LIKE CANS WERE BEING CRUSHED WHEN THEY WERE ENGAGED. VIDEO FOOTAGE OF THE FAILURE WAS GIVEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER, WHO STATED THAT THE BRAKES WERE FINE AND THE BRAKE BOOSTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 130,300.
OVER THE PAST COUPLE OF YEARS, I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING A PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKES ON MY 2006 NISSAN ARMADA. EVERY 3-6 MONTHS THE BRAKES WILL MAKE A SCARY NOISE (CAN'T REALLY DESCRIBE IT - GRINDING/CLANKING), THE BRAKES WORK AT ABOUT 10% AND THE BRAKE LIGHT GOES ON. ONCE THE VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF, THE BRAKE LIGHT GOES OUT, THE NOISE DISAPPEARS AND THE BRAKES WORK AT 100% ONCE AGAIN. SO FAR IT HAS NOT HAPPENED IN A SITUATION WHERE I HAD TO STOP SUDDENLY. IF IT DOES, THERE WILL BE AN ACCIDENT, WHICH COULD RESULT IN INJURIES OR EVEN DEATH. I CAN'T BELIEVE ALL THE COMPLAINTS THAT HAVE BEEN POSTED ABOUT THIS ONE "SAME" PROBLEM AND THERE HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL ISSUED. I'M NOT SURE WHAT MORE THE CONSUMERS CAN DO, BUT I WILL BE CONTACTING NISSAN AND OTHERS TO SEE WHAT MORE CAN BE DONE. *TR

CAR STALLS WHILE IN MOTION. RESTARTS AFTER 4-5 CRANKS. THIS OCCURRED ABOUT TEN TIMES BEFORE CAR TAKEN TO DEALER. WHEN CAR STALLS / ENGINE STOPS AND THE LOSS OF STEERING ABILITY AND BRAKE ASSIST IS REDUCED. THIS OCCURRED ONCE ON THE INTERSTATE IN THE #1 LANE WITH NO EMERGENCY LANE AVAILABLE. CAUSING SEVERAL NEAR MISSES BY OTHER CARS IN TRYING TO COAST TO THE RIGHTSIDE OF THE ROAD. THE CAR RESTARTED AFTER SEVERAL CRANKS AND WAS DRIVEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER. THE IPDM WAS REPLACED UNDER THE DIAGNOSE OF A INTERMITTENT OPEN CIRCUIT INSIDE THE MODULE. ALSO THIS ISSUE NEVER GAVE ANY TROUBLE CODES OR EVEN NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT.. THIS STALLING WOULD OCCUR ANYTIME WITHOUT WARNING.THE OLD PART WAS NOT RETURNED TO ME EVEN THOUGH I REQUESTED IT BEFORE REPAIRS WERE MADE. THE SERVICE WRITER APPARENTLY DID NOT TELL THE MECHANIC. THE COST TO REPLACE THE MODULE WAS $439.00.*TR
MY FUEL GAUGE IS NOT WORKING CORRECT AND I AM MOVEING FROM FLORIDA TO NEW YORK SOON. I DID NOT HAVE A INCIDENT.
I WAS DRIVING ONE DAY WITH MY 3 KIDS IN THE CAR AND THE VDC SLIP AND BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON OUT OF NO WHERE. I CONTACTED THE DEALER AND I BROUGH THE VEHICLE IN TO HAVE IT CHECKED AFTER PAYING FOR THEM TO DIAGNOSIS IT THEY SAID THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. THE LIGHT CONTINUED TO CCOME ON SEVERAL TIMES AND EACH TIME I WOULD TAKE IT IN AND THEY WOULD SAY NOTHING WAS WRONG. ONE PARTICULAR DAY I WAS DRIVING WITH MY 3 KIDS AND I WENT TO STOP AND THE BRAKES BEGAN TO DO A PULSING ACTION AND SOUNDED AS THOUGH THEY WERE GRINDING AND THE CAR WOULD NOT STOP. I STARTED TO CRY AND PANIC BECAUSE I HAD ALL OF MY KIDS IN THE CAR AND HAD NO IDEA WHAT TO DO SO I PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AND LET THE CAR ROLL AND JUST PULLED AWAY FROM TRAFFIC AS MUCH AS I COULD. FINALLY I PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT WHERE I HIT THE BREAKS AND EMERGENCY BREAK TO MAKE IT STOP. I PLACED THE CAR IN PARK AND WAS TERRIFIED TO DRIVE AFTER THAT SO I CONTACTED THE DEALER AND ASKED IF I COULD BRING IT IN IMMEDIATELY. ONCE AT THE DEALER I WAS TOLD AGAIN NOTHING WAS WRONG AND THAT MY BRAKES WERE FINE AND THEY DID NOT FIND ANYTHING. THE SAME THING HAPPEN TO ME 2 MORE TIMES AND STILL NO ONE SEEMS TO FIND ANYTHING WRONG. MY BRAKES HAVE BEEN REPLACED AND EACH TIME I PRESS ON THEM I AM TERRIFIED THAT THE CAR IS NOT GONNA STOP. THE BRAKES ALWAYS FEEL AS THOUGH THEY AREN'T GONNA STOP AND THEY HAVE AN UNEASY FEELING WHEN YOU PRESS THEM. I CANNOT CLAIM THE CAR AS A LEMON BECAUSE I BOUGHT IT USED WITH 29,000 MILES WHICH IS NOT ALOT. I FEEL THAT THERE IS A DEFECT IN THE BRAKE SYSTEM FOR THE NISSAN ARMADA BECAUSE MY CAR DID NOT HAVE ALOT OF MILES WHEN THIS STARTED AND IT IS STILL HAVING ISSUES.
REAR AUTO LEVELING SUSPENSION FAILURE. WOULD NOT AUTO LEVEL THE REAR OF VEHICLE DUE TO AIR LEAK. VEHICLE HANDLED VERY POORLY AND WAS A BIG SAFETY CONCERN. REAR OF VEHICLE WAS TWO TO THREE INCHES LOWER THAN OEM SPECIFICATIONS.

MY HUSBAND HAVE A 2006 NISSAN ALTIMA AND THE CLUTCH FAILS DAILY. I WAS DRIVING AND SUDDENLY THE BRAKE LIGHTS CAME ON AND THEIR WAS A LOUD GRINDING NOISE, WHEN I PRESS THE BRAKE IT WAS HARD TO STOP THE VEHICLE. BRAKING CAPABILITY IS REDUCED SIGNIFICANTLY RESULTING IN A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS SITUATION, PARTICULARLY DUE TO THE TRANSIENT NATURE OF THE ISSUE. VEHICLE MUST BE TURNED OFF TO RESET CONDITION. NISSAN DEALERSHIP TRIED REPROGRAMMING VDC TO FIX WHICH DID NOT WORK. NOW THEY ARE LOOKING AT REPLACING BRAKE BOOST ACTUATOR. BASED ON MY RESEARCH, PROBLEM HAS BEEN COMMON IN 2004 AND LATER MODEL ARMADAS. *TR
SOMETIME IN MID AUGUST 2008, MY WIFE AND DAUGHTER WERE OUT RUNNING ERRANDS IN OUR 2006 ARMADA. SHE CAME HOME AND TOLD ME ABOUT THE "BRAKE" LIGHT COMING ON, SEVERE FRONT END "SHUDDERING" AS SHE APPLIED THE BRAKES AND DIFFICULTY STOPPING. I WENT OUT TO THE VEHICLE, TURNED IT ON, THE BRAKE LIGHT WAS NOT ON. I DROVE THE VEHICLE AROUND FOR ABOUT 20 MINUTES WITH NO PROBLEMS. I DID SLOW EVEN STOPS, HARD "EMERGENCY TYPE" STOPS, BRAKING AROUND CORNERS. NOT A SINGLE PROBLEM. I CHECKED THE BRAKE FLUID, IT WAS SLIGHTLY ABOVE THE MINIMUM LINE, SO I TOPPED IT OFF WITH THE PRESCRIBED BRAKE FLUID. THE CAR OPERATED JUST FINE UNTIL SEPT 12, 2008 AT APPROX. 4:50 PM WHEN AT 40 MPH I APPROACHED A TWO WAY STOP SIGN, APPLIED THE BRAKES, AND NOTHING HAPPENED, I FRANTICALLY PUMPED THE BRAKES, UNTIL THE WALL IN FRONT OF ME WAS CLOSE AND I INSTINCTIVELY PUT MY HANDS IN FRONT OF MY FACE. THE VEHICLE HIT THE CURB AT A 90 DEGREE ANGLE, JUMPED THE CURB, CRASHED THROUGH A SAFETY SIGN, AND THEN CRASHED THROUGH A 18-24" SEWER LINE THAT HAD YET TO BE BURIED. IN FACT THE ARMADA ALMOST ROLLED AS IT WAS RIDING ON TOP OF A PIECE OF THE SEVERED SEWER LINE. I CALLED 911, AND THEN SMELLED GASOLINE. HAZMAT WAS CALLED BECAUSE THE FUEL LINE WAS RUPTURED BY THE SIGN GOING UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. LUCKILY NOBODY WAS COMING THE OTHER WAY. I WAS TRANSPORTED VIA AMBULANCE, DIAGNOSED WITH A "DEEP CHEST CONTUSION" FROM THE SEAT BELTS. AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. AS OF THIS WRITING ON 10/17/08 NISSAN OF NORTH AMERICA IS STILL "REVIEWING" THE RESULTS OF THE INDEPENDENT 3RD PARTY THEY SENT OUT TO TEST THE CAR. THEY HAVE TOLD ME THIS REVIEW BY THEIR ENGINEERING AND LEGAL DEPARTMENTS COULD TAKE SEVERAL MORE WEEKS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN ARMADA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH AFTER ATTEMPTING TO ENGAGE THE BRAKES, THE BRAKES FAILED TO STOP THE VEHICLE AND THE BRAKE WARNING LAMP ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT HE WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL AND AFTER DOWN SHIFTING AND WAS FINALLY ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE FAILURE RECURRED FOUR YEARS LATER . THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
MULTIPLE TIMES, OUR NISSAN ARMADA HAS HAD INCIDENTS WITH THE BRAKES. THE BRAKE PEDAL MODULATES/SHUTTERS, STOPPING DISTANCES ARE INCREASED, AND A LOUD VIBRATION CAN BE HEARD AND FELT FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN ARMADA. THE CONTACT'S WIFE DROVE APPROXIMATELY TWO MILES WITH THE AIR CONDITIONER ACTIVATED. SHE EXITED THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED SMOKE UNDERNEATH THE HOOD. THREE MINUTES LATER, FLAMES APPEARED. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED AND EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A FIRE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 08V284000 (EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:AIR CONDITIONER) ON AUGUST 21, 2008. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 72,000.

HE ALSO STATED THAT THE ROOF, PLASTIC, DASHBOARD, AND SEATS WERE DAMAGED AND BLACKENED. THE SECURITY AT THE HOTEL HE WAS AT CALLED THE FIRE DEPARTMENT. AN INVESTIGATOR STATED THAT THE FIRE WAS CAUSED BY A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT IN THE WIRES. THE INSURANCE COMPANY DECLARED THAT THE INTERIOR WAS TOTALLY DAMAGED. A SECURITY REPORT WAS FILED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT SOMEONE WOULD COME OUT TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE, BUT HE WAS NEVER CALLED BACK. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 8,600.
