WHILST TRYING TO DRIVE FORWARD, THE VEHICLE IS UNABLE TO HAVE ENOUGH MOMENTUM TO DRIVE- IN OTHER WORDS THE TRANSMISSION IS NOT FUNCTIONING CORRECTLY. ACCORDING TO THE MECHANIC I BROUGHT IT TO, I WAS ADVISED THAT HE HAS SEEN THIS HAPPEN WITH THIS MAKE/MODEL/YEAR BEFORE AND IT IS CAUSED DUE TO AN ISSUE WITH THE RADIATOR LEAKING ANTI-FREEZE INTO THE TRANSMISSION SYSTEM. *TR
RADIATOR FLUID LEAKED INTO TRANSMISSION DUE TO FAULTY MANUFACTURING CAUSING TRANSMISSION TO BREAK AND BE CHILE TO STALL. *TR
I WAS DRIVING ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFTED INTO SECOND GEAR. THE FRONTIER IMMEDIATELY SLOWED DOWN. I WAS DRIVING IN FRONT OF A TRACTOR TRAILER AND JUST MISSED GETTING REAR ENDED. I'VE SINCE FOUND OUT THAT NISSAN HAS BEEN AWARE OF THE RADIATOR LEAKING AND CROSS CONTAMINATING WITH THE TRANSMISSION FLUID AND BLOWING OUT THE TRANSMISSION. THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION WITH THESE VEHICLES INVOLVED AND NISSAN SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR CORRECTING THEIR DEFECT REGARDLESS OF VEHICLE MILEAGE. THIS VEHICLE NEEDS TO BE RECALLED AND FIXED. *TR
PARKING/EMERGENCY BRAKE DOES NOT STOP OR HOLD CAR ON SLIGHT GRADE. CHECKED AND FOUND AXLE BEARING GREASE LEAKING ONTO DRUM AND BRAKE SHOES. *TR
FUEL SENDER ISSUE WAS CAUSING THE FUEL GAUGE TO NOT WORK PROPERLY. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT THERE HAD BEEN A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE (10V-075) AND MY VEHICLE APPEARS TO BE COVERED AS IT WAS BUILT IN JANUARY 2006. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THAT MY VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. I COULD NOT UNDERSTAND WHY IT WASN'T COVERED AS MY ISSUE WAS EXACTLY WHAT THE RECALL WAS FOR, BUT I NEEDED IT FIXED SO I PAID A TOTAL OF $476.67. I CALLED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS DEPT. AND OPENED A CASE (1121397) AND THEY ASKED ME TO SUBMIT THE BILL I PAID AT THE DEALERSHIP, WHICH I DID, BUT NOW WHEN I CALL THE CHECK ON THE STATUS THEY DON'T ANSWER. VOICEMAILS ARE NOT RETURNED SO I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON. CAN YOU HELP?? *TR
I BOUGHT A USED 2006 FRONTIER 2 YEARS AGO AND ONLY PUT 20,000 MILES ON IT AND NOW THE COOLANT IS MIXING WITH THE TRANSMISSION FLUID AND THEY WANT TO PAY 2500 DOLLARS TO HELP FIX IT. AND THIS BULL CRAP. NISSAN NEEDS TO MAN UP AND STAND BEHIND THERE VEHICLES. DISSATISFIED CUSTOMERS CAN SPREAD THE WORD. NEVER BUY A NISSAN. *TR
THE TRANSMISSION STOPPED AND MY VEHICLE WOULD NOT GO FASTER THAN 2 MPH. I COULD NOT GET IT UPHILL. I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED. IT WAS CONSTANTLY JUMPING FORWARD PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT. ON THE HIGHWAY IT FELT LIKE IT COULDN'T GET OUT OF GEAR. *TR
HELLO, I HAVE A 2006 FRONTIER ON IT'S WAY TO THE DEALERSHIP RIGHT NOW HAVING THE RADIATOR & TRANSMISSION REPLACED. THAT IS CAUSED FROM THE COOLANT MIXING WITH THE TRANSMISSION. I DON'T KNOW HOW NISSAN CAN SAY THIS ISN'T A SAFETY ISSUE WHEN YOUR VEHICLE CAN STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF HIGHWAY TRAFFIC DUE TO YOUR TRANSMISSION DYING. RECALL NEEDED! THANK YOU! *TR
LAST TIME I CHANGED MY OIL ABOUT A MONTH AGO, THEY WERE CONFUSED AT WHY I HAD OIL IN MY RADIATOR. THEY SAID IT WAS NOT A GOOD SIGN! YESTERDAY WHEN I WAS DRIVING TO WORK, MY TRUCK HAD NO POWER AND IT EVENTUALLY STOPPED MOVING IN THE ROAD. THE TRUCK WAS RUNNING, BUT WOULD NOT ENGAGE IN A GEAR AND MOVE FORWARD. I HAD IT TAKEN TO A LOCAL SHOP TO LOOK IT OVER AND AFTER A TEST DRIVE AND LOOKING AT THE TRANSMISSION AND RADIATOR FLUIDS, THEY SAID I HAD A CROSS CONTAMINATION OF THE TWO SYSTEMS AND IT CAUSED THE PROBLEM. THEY CALLED THE NISSAN DEALER AND THEY SAID THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AND THEY HAVE A LAW SUIT I CAN JOIN TO GET REIMBURSED FOR THE EXPENSE OF REPLACING THE CVT. (CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION) IT WILL COST ABOUT $4,200. I LOOKED ONLINE AND IT LOOKS LIKE NISSAN ALSO HAS AT CVT REPLACEMENT PROGRAM. I WISH I WOULD HAVE KNOWN ABOUT THIS SO I COULD HAVE HAD IT REPLACED AND NOT PUT IN DANGER. *TR
WHEN DRIVING, A "RUMBLING" NOISE WOULD COME AND GO AND A "WHINING" NOISE WHILE ACCELERATING. THE RUMBLING NOISE WAS NOT CONSISTENT BUT WOULD SOUND LIKE A WAS DRIVING ON THE SIDE OF THE ROUND. IT WOULD USUALLY APPEAR AROUND 40-60 MPH WHEN I WOULD LET OFF THE GAS AND "COAST" AND TRY TO PRESS THE GAS AGAIN. I DID NOT KNOW THERE WAS A "WARRANTY EXTENSION". I WAS NOT NOTIFIED. TOOK THE TRUCK INTO THE SHOP ONLY TO FIND OUT MY TRANSMISSION WAS GOING OUT DUE TO THE FACT I HAVE RADIATOR COOLANT (ANTIFREEZE) IN MY TRANSMISSION FLUID; (OVER A GALLON) CAUSE BY A FACTORY DEFECT. SOMETHING TO DO WITH A TRANSMISSION PIECE GOING THROUGH THE RADIATOR AND LEAKING. MILEAGE FOR MY TRUCK IS RIGHT AT 99,800. BARELY MADE THE 100,000 MILES 3000 DOLLAR SO-CALLED NISSAN WARRANTY EXTENSION.. *TR
TRANSMISSION FAILED COMPLETELY WHILE MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING LEAVING HER STRANDED IN A BUSY INTERSECTION. VEHICLE WAS TOWED. TRANSMISSION WAS FOUND TO HAVE RADIATOR FLUID IN IT AS WELL AS TRANSMISSION FLUID IN THE COOLING SYSTEM. AFTER INVESTIGATING THIS ISSUE ON THE INTERNET IT IS OBVIOUS THAT NISSAN HAS BEEN AWARE OF THE ISSUE WITH FAULTY RADIATORS FOR A LONG TIME. (WHEN I WAS STILL UNDER MY EXTENDED WARRANTY.) HAD NISSAN INFORMED OWNERS THIS COULD HAVE RESOLVED WITH A RADIATOR CHANGE THAT I WOULD HAVE GLADLY DONE AT MY EXPENSE. NOW I'M LOOKING AT OVER $4000.00 IN REPAIR COSTS. SHAME ON NISSAN! *TR
WHILE DRIVING AT 40-45 MPH I WOULD GET A VERY LOUD HARSH VIBRATION THAT FELT SIMILAR TO DRIVING OVER ONE OF THE WARNING STRIPS ON SIDE OF HIGHWAYS WARNING YOU YOU'RE GOING OFF ROAD. IT ALSO EVENTUAL WOULD BARELY MOVE FROM A STOP AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT. TOOK IT TO LOCAL TRANSMISSION REPAIR SHOP THAT INFORMED ME THE COOLANT FROM RADIATOR LEAKED INTO TRANS CAUSING THE FAILURE. LOOKS LIKE I'M GETTING A NEW TRANS AND RADIATOR. NISSAN NEEDS TO RECALL AND REIMBURSE ALL THESE PPL SPENDING THOUSANDS ON WHAT IS OBVIOUSLY A FACTORY DEFECT. THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FUEL GAUGE TO SHOWS THAT THE VEHICLE HAS APPROXIMATELY ONE QUARTER TANK WHEN THE FUEL TANK IS EMPTY. FOUND OUT THAT THE FUEL LEVEL SENDING UNIT INSIDE THE FUEL TANK DOSE NOT WORK SOMETIME .WHEN WE FILL THE FUEL TANK THE FUEL GAUGE WILL DROP TO EMPTY AN SHOWS THAT WE DON'T HAVE FUEL. *TR
TRANSMISSION HAD BEGUN TO BUMP WHEN CHANGING GEARS. AT TIMES IT WAS HARD SHIFTING. ON 2-10-13 WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE, THE TRUCK STARTED TO RUN HOT. I STOPPED AND HAD TO PUT WATER IN THE OVERFLOW TANK. CONTINUED ON THE INTERSTATE AND TRUCK DID NOT RUN HOT ANYMORE. SINCE THEN, THE TRANSMISSION HAS GOTTEN WORSE. SOME TIMES THE TRANSMISSION VIBRATES WHEN CHANGING GEARS. MANY PEOPLE ON THE INTERNET ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. *TR
TRANSMISSION BEGAN STUTTERING AND SHIFTING POORLY AT ABOUT 114,000 MILES. THIS IS A TYPICAL SYMPTOM FOR A PROBLEM NISSAN HAS KNOWN ABOUT FOR SOME TIME. A FAILURE IN THE RADIATOR ALLOWS ENGINE COOLANT TO MIX WITH TRANSMISSION FLUID - DESTROYING THE TRANSMISSION. SO FAR IT HAS COST ME $1000 TO HAVE THE RADIATOR REPLACED AND THE TRANSMISSION DRAINED AND REFILLED. $11/QUART FOR SPECIAL NISSAN TRANNY FLUID. I EXPECT I MAY HAVE CAUGHT THE PROBLEM EARLY ENOUGH TO AVOID MAJOR TRANSMISSION DAMAGE, BUT WILL ONLY USE THE TRUCK FOR LOCAL TRIPS NOW. THIS ISSUE SHOULD BE A RECALL ISSUE AND NISSAN HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR REPAIRS. *TR
COOLANT HAS ENTERED TRANSMISSION FLUID, THIS CAN CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO BECOME IMMOBILE IN TRAFFIC, INTERSECTIONS, ETC. *TR
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE AND ACCELERATING, THE TRANSMISSION HESITATED TO SHIFT AND THEN JUMPED INTO GEAR CAUSING A LURCH IN THE VEHICLE. *TR
2006 NISSAN FRONTIER. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO SEVERAL VEHICLE RECALL NOTICES AND OTHER MECHANICAL FAILURES. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED HIS VEHICLE SHOWED SIGNS OF ENGINE PROBLEMS, THE SECOND YEAR AFTER HE PURCHASED IT. WHEN THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR THE FUEL SYSTEM RECALL, HE WAS INFORMED THE VEHICLE HAD AN OIL LEAK, AND THE ENGINE WAS BAD AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, AFTER ONLY HAVING THE VEHICLE FOR THREE YEARS. THE CONSUMER STATED THE GAS GAUGE HAS SINCE STOPPED WORKING AGAIN. THE ENGINE STALLED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE CONSUMER STATED HE HAS SINCE RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE REGARDING THE ENGINE. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, TO HAVE THE RECALL PERFORMED. HOWEVER, THE DEALER STATED AFTER THE REPAIRS WERE COMPLETED, THERE WAS STILL A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH THE ENGINE, BUT IT WAS NOT A PART OF THE RECALL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN FRONTIER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH, THE VEHICLE STOPPED ACCELERATING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND SMOKE EMITTED FROM UNDER THE HOOD AREA. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO TRANSMISSION SPECIALIST FOR INSPECTION WHERE THEY ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT LIQUID FROM THE RADIATOR LEAKED INTO THE TRANSMISSION. AS A RESULT, BOTH THE RADIATOR AND THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 111,000.
MY NISSAN DEALER TOLD ME I NEED TIMING CHAIN GUIDES AND IT WOULD COST ME $1600.00, THEN I GO ON LINE AND NISSAN NEW ABOUT THIS PROBLEM IN 2009. THEY SAID IF I HAD 60,000 MILES THEY WOULD HAVE COVERED THIS, THEY NEW THIS WAS GOING TO HAPPEN AND DID NOT TELL ME. THIS IS FRAUD AND SOMETHING SHOULD BE DONE ABOUT THIS.THIS PROBLEM IS HAPPENING ALL OVER THE COUNTRY ON THESE VEHICLES. WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT THIS? *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS WHERE IT WAS STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAKED INTO THE RADIATOR AND THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
HASN'T HAPPENED YET, BUT FROM ALL THE COMPLAINTS FROM 2005-2010 NISSAN PATHFINDER, XTERRA AND FRONTIER OWNERS CONCERNING MAJOR TRANSMISSION FAILURES WHILE DRIVING DUE TO CROSS CONTAMINATION FROM A FAILED TRANSMISSION FLUID LINE RUNNING THROUGH THE RADIATOR, IT'S ONLY A MATTER OF TIME. THIS DEFECT HAS BEEN KNOWN BY NISSAN FOR YEARS AND AS A BAND-AID SOLUTION OFFERED EXTENDED WARRANTY COVERAGE FOR THESE SPECIFIC COMPONENTS TO 8 YEARS/80,000 MILES, KNOWING FULL WELL MOST PROBLEMS HAVE A RECORD OF OCCURRING JUST AFTER 100,000 MILES. CLASS ACTION LAW SUITS AGAINST NISSAN FOR THIS DEFECT ARE NOW PENDING IN THE STATE OF NEW YORK. THIS DEFECT AND NISSAN'S LACK OF CONCERN FOR PREVENTATIVE ACTION PLACED THIS IN THE 2ND WORST PROBLEM ON CARCOMPLAINTS.COM TOP VEHICLE PROBLEM TRENDS OF 2012 LIST. AS MORE AND MORE OF THESE MODEL YEARS APPROACH 100,000 MILES, MORE AND MORE CATASTROPHIC FAILURES WITH POTENTIAL FOR INJURY AND LOSS OF LIFE WILL OCCUR. REPAIR AFTER THE FAILURE IS QUITE EXPENSIVE; ENOUGH TO WARRANT SCRAPPING THE VEHICLE FOR THOSE THAT CAN'T AFFORD THE REPAIR BILL. TIME TO HOLD NISSAN ACCOUNTABLE FOR THE PROBLEM THEY HAVE CREATED AND ALLOWED THE PUBLIC TO BEAR RESPONSIBILITY FOR. A RECALL OF ALL AFFECTED MODELS TO INSTALL AN IMPROVED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION LINE IN THE OIL COOLER OR REROUTING THE LINE TO A DIFFERENT ADD-ON OIL COOLER IS NEEDED. *TR
CAMSHAFT SENSORS (CPS?) REPLACED TODAY AT DEALER. FRIDAY MY TRUCK STALLED AS I PULLED INTO A HIGHWAY AT NIGHT. ALMOST GOT BROADSIDED BY TRACTOR TRAILOR TRUCK. THESE SENSOR FAILURES CAUSE A RAPID STALL UNDER POWER AND HARD STARTING AFTER THE STALLS. LAST MONTH I HAD THE CRANKSHAFT SENSORS REPLACED AS WELL. BEFORE THAT THE IPDM RELAY RECALL GAVE ME PROBLEMS. I'M STILL FIGHTING TO GET MY FUEL SENDING UNIT REPLACED (NISSAN WILL ONLY COVER CUSTOMERS THAT SPEND A LOT OF MONEY AT THE DEALERS, I WAS TOLD THIS BY NISSAN!). I'VE HAD THE REAR END, TRANSMISSION AND RADIATOR, DRIVESHAFT AND PROPELLER SHAFT REPLACED DUE TO FAILED U-JOINTS. AXLE SEALS (ON THE NEW REAR) ARE LEAKING AGAIN I UNDERSTAND A CLOGGED VENT MAY BE TO BLAME. TIRE PRESSURE SENSORS ARE SHOT AND CATALYTIC CONVERTERS SHOT. GET THIS COMPANY TO RECALL SOME OF THIS STUFF AND FORCE THEM TO PAY TO FIX THIS JUNK BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED! *TR
I HAVE A 2006 NISSAN FRONTIER AND FOR THE LAST 9 OR 10 MONTHS IT BECOMES "HERKY-JERKY" AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. I ONLY DRIVE THIS VEHICLE IN THE WINTER SO YESTERDAY I TOOK IT IN TO THE DEALERSHIP AND TODAY THEY INFORMED ME THE COOLANT HAD LEAKED INTO THE TRANSMISSION. THE DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME THE COST FOR THE REPAIR IS $6500. I ASKED THEM IF THIS WAS SOMETHING NORMAL AND THEY SAID IT WAS UNUSUAL. I DID SOME CHECKING ON THE INTERNET AND FOUND OUT THERE WAS A SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT REGARDING THIS DEFECT. OTHER SITES DIRECTED ME TO MAKE A COMPLAINT WITH YOU BECAUSE THIS APPEARS TO BE A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM AND DUE TO THE FACT THE SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT WAS ESSENTIALLY WORTHLESS. GIVEN THIS I AM FILING THIS COMPLAINT WITH YOU IN HOPES THIS WILL TURN INTO A RECALL. ALSO, MADE A CLAIM TODAY WITH NISSAN AND EXPECTING A CASE WORKER TO CALL BACK TOMORROW. IF THEY DO NOT AGREE TO PAY FOR THE COST OF THE DAMAGE I WILL TAKE THEM TO SMALL CLAIMS. OF NOTE, I HAVE ONLY SUED ONE ENTITY BEFORE IN MY LIFE (49YO) AND IT WAS NISSAN BACK IN 1997 AND I WON. IT WAS A DEFECT IN THE WIRING OF MY PREVIOUS FRONTIER. I CAN SAY NISSAN LIKES TO PLAY HARD BALL AND NOT SETTLE OR ADMIT TO ANY OF THEIR FAULTS. I GAVE THEM MORE THAN SUFFICIENT EVIDENCE AND WAS VERY PATIENT IN THIS PRIOR CLAIM, BUT THEY KEPT DENYING. I LEARNED MY LESSON THAT TIME AND THIS TIME I WILL NOT BE SO PATIENT AND WILL INFORM THEM I WILL TAKEN MORE EXPEDITIOUSLY THIS TIME. *JS
ON MY 2006 NISSAN FRONTIER MY RADIATOR COOLANT MIXED IN WITH MY TRANSMISSION OIL AND IT CAUSED MY TRANNY TO BLOW OUT AND ALSO FOR MY TIMING BELT TO GET MESSED UP AND SO I HAD TO REPLACE MY TRANNY AND RADIATOR AND TIMING BELTS AT A TOTAL OF OVER 4 THOUSAND DOLLARS. I REALLY THINK NISSAN SHOULD MAKE THIS A RECALL REGARDLESS OF YOUR MILEAGE BECAUSE IF THEY DON'T HUNDREDS AND THOUSAND OF PEOPLE WILL STOP BUYING NISSAN. PLEASE INFORM ME OF ANYTHING WITH THE INVESTIGATION WITH NISSAN. *TR

THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED AT OWNER'S EXPENSIVE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 111,500. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN FRONTIER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER REFUELING, THE FUEL GAUGE RAPIDLY REGISTERED THAT THE TANK WAS EMPTY. THE CONTACT TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND RESTARTED IT AND THE GAUGE SHOWED FULL. THE GAUGE FAILED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED OF A RECALL FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V075000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED BUT STATED THE VIN WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 53,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 56,000.

I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE USED WITH ROUGHLY 92,700 MILES FROM A REPUTABLE, LOCAL, HIGH VOLUME DEALER. WITHIN A WEEK OF OWNING THE VEHICLE I FELT A "SHUDDER," AS IF DRIVING OVER A RUMBLE STRIP ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, WHILE CRUISING AT APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH IN TOP GEAR ON THE HIGHWAY. FELT THE SAME SENSATION ONE WEEK LATER AND AGAIN APPROXIMATELY ONE MONTH AGO. THESE "SHUDDERS" WERE FEW AND FAR BETWEEN BUT CONSISTENT IN FEELING AND DURATION, ONLY LASTING A SECOND OR SO. WHILE DOING AN OIL CHANGE AND FLUID CHECK ON 2-7-2013 AND APPROXIMATELY 94,700 MILES, I FOUND THE COOLANT IN MY RADIATOR AND OVERFLOW TANK TO BE A PINK, EVEN BORDERING ON PURPLE, IN COLOR AND ABOUT THE SAME CONSISTENCY AS HEAVY WHIPPING CREAM YOU WOULD PURCHASE FROM THE GROCERY STORE. I IMMEDIATELY ARRANGED FOR THE VEHICLE TO BE DIAGNOSED AT THE DEALERSHIP OF PURCHASE THE NEXT MORNING AND THE THREE YEAR EXTENDED POWER TRAIN WARRANTY DICTATED SUCH. THE SERVICE SHOP'S DIAGNOSIS CONFIRMED THE RESEARCH I HAD FOUND LINKING THE DISCREPANT COOLANT IN MY RADIATOR TO BE FROM A DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION COOLER LINE/COIL INSIDE THE BOTTOM OF THE RADIATOR THAT WAS LEAKING TRANSMISSION FLUID INTO MY RADIATOR. THUS, NOT RECIRCULATING THE PROPER AMOUNT OF TRANSMISSION FLUID, IF AT ALL, BACK INTO MY TRANSMISSION CAUSING IT TO FAIL AND WAS "SHUDDERING" AS A SIDE EFFECT. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT HAS TOLD ME THAT BECAUSE MY VEHICLE WAS PAST THE 80,000 MILE MARK AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT, NISSAN WOULD REQUIRE A $3,000 DEDUCTIBLE TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION, TRANSMISSION COOLER LINES, AND THE RADIATOR. AS I RESEARCH FURTHER I SEE THIS PROBLEM IS NOT ISOLATED BUT QUITE COMMON. IT IS ALSO PAINFULLY APPARENT THAT NISSAN IS VERY MUCH AWARE OF THIS ISSUE AS WELL. THE TECHNICIAN SAID HE COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM, THE TECHNICIAN DID NOT TURN THE WIPERS ON TO VISUALLY SEE THE PROBLEM AND DEPENDED ON THE COMPUTER FOR A RESOLUTION. I PURCHASED MY TRUCK WITH ABOUT 1900 MILES ON IT. I WAS A VERY PROUD OWNER, DOING EVERYTHING IN MY POWER TO KEEP MY TRUCK DEPENDABLE AND RELIABLE BY GETTING ALL SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE PLUS PREVENTATIVE CARE. HOWEVER, ONE MORNING I TRIED STARTING MY TRUCK FOR WORK AND IT WASN'T CRANKING. THE SERVICE ADVISOR EXPLAINED TO ME THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON MY VEHICLE BECAUSE OF A PROBLEM OF COOLANT LEAKING INSIDE THE TRANSMISSION WHICH WILL DAMAGE THE COMPUTER COMPONENT CAUSING THE TRUCK NOT TO START OR CRANK. THE SERVICE ADVISOR THEN CONTINUED TO TELL ME THAT MY TRUCK IS NO LONGER COVERED FOR THE REPAIRS BECAUSE I EXCEEDED THE ALLOWED MILEAGE TO REPAIR THE FACTORY DEFECT AND I HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS OUT OF POCKET WHICH TOTAL MORE THEN WHAT THE TRUCK IS WORTH. THE SERVICE ADVISOR ALSO REVEALED THAT I SHOULD HAVE RECEIVED A LETTER WITH DETAILS OF THE RECALL, BUT I NEVER RECEIVED IT BECAUSE IT WENT TO THE PREVIOUS OWNER. I WAS CONFIDENT IN PURCHASING A NISSAN TRUCK AND INVESTED ALL OF MY MONEY TOWARD ONE HOPING THIS WOULD BE MY ONLY VEHICLE PURCHASE FOR AT LEAST 10 YEARS BUT NOW I HAVE LESS THAN A YEAR OF PAYMENTS LEFT AND A VEHICLE THAT DOESN'T RUN. NOW MY LUCK HAS RUN OUT AND I CAN NO LONGER DRIVE MY VEHICLE. I HAVE A 3 MONTH OLD AT HOME AND NEED TO HAVE TWO CARS FOR MY WIFE.
