ON 3 OCCASIONS, WHEN TRYING TO STOP THE CAR FROM A SLOW SPEED, THE THROTTLE FAILED TO DISCONNECT. I WAS ABLE TO SLOW THE CAR DOWN FROM 25 MPH TO 3MPH, BUT I COULD NOT GET IT TO STOP UNTIL I PUT IT INTO NEUTRAL. WHEN I DID THAT, THE ENGINE RACED JUST LIKE IT WOULD IF YOU WERE ON THE GAS AND SHIFTED TO NEUTRAL. I HAVE HAD THE CAR FOR 13 MONTHS AND THIS DID NOT HAPPEN UNTIL2 MONTHS AGO, AND HAS NOW HAPPENED 3 TIMES. OF COURSE, NISSAN CAN'T REPLICATE AND SAYS THERE IS NOTHING WRONG. ONLY HAPPENED AT SLOW SPEED AND WITHIN 5 MINUTES OF STARTING THE CAR AFTER SITTING FOR SEVERAL HOURS.. WEATHER WAS ABOVE 70 ALL 3 TIMES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 NISSAN MAXIMA. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 TO 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STARTED TO SLOW DOWN. AFTER SHE TRIED TO ACCELERATE AND INCREASE SPEED, THE VEHICLE DID NOT RESPOND; HOWEVER, ALL OF THE WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENTAL PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO ADVISED HER THAT THE THROTTLE BODY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. AFTER DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 1,000 MILES, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHO ADVISED HER THAT THE WIRE HARNESS SYSTEM FAILED AND NEEDED TO REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND THE CONTACT WAS WAITING FOR A RESPONSE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 6800.
I WAS DRIVING AND THE HIGHWAY AND MY SUNROOF EXPLODED. NOTHING HIT IT NOR WAS IT DAMAGED PREVIOUSLY. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS 2010 NISSAN MAXIMA EQUIPPED WITH GOODYEAR EAGLE RS-A TIRES, SIZE P245/45/R18. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER TIRE THREAD FROM THE INTERIOR SEPERATED WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE CONTACTED IN REGARDS TO THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 21,473.
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: AUGUST 5, 2013 MY HUSBAND AND I OWN A 2010 NISSAN MAXIMA THAT WE PURCHASED NEW IN 2010. OCCASIONALLY WE HAVE NOTICED THAT THE PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT REMAINED ON FOR DIFFERING LENGTHS OF TIME AND DIDN'T THINK MUCH OF IT. AT SOME POINT WE READ THE OWNERS MANUAL ABOUT THIS WARNING SIGNAL. IT SAID THE LIGHT SHOULD COME ON WHEN YOU START THE CAR AND GO OFF ABOUT 10 SECONDS LATER. THIS WASN??T ALWAYS THE CASE. THIS WARNING LIGHT TELLS ME THAT THE AIR BAG WILL NOT DEPLOY IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT AND A PASSENGER IN THE PASSENGER SEAT WILL HAVE NO PROTECTION. I VIEW THIS AS A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM. AIR BAG LIGHT ON READS, "AIR BAG"?? AT THIS POINT, AUGUST 2013, THE CAR HAS ONLY 19,000 MILES ON IT. THROUGH THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS THE PROBLEM HAS RECURRED, BUT MORE FREQUENTLY. IN THE SPRING OF 2013 WE TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER WHERE WE PURCHASED IT. THEY TESTED IT WITH THEIR COMPUTER AND DETECTED NO PROBLEM. THEY SAID THE COMPUTER DIDN'T RECORD ANY INSTANCES OF THAT EVENT OCCURRING. RECENTLY WE STARTED DOING SOME RESEARCH ON LINE ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND DISCOVERED THAT MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING THIS VERY SAME PROBLEM. SOME RESPONSES THAT WERE GIVEN BY NISSAN INCLUDED PASSENGER NOT HEAVY ENOUGH. ONE WOMAN WEIGHED ABOUT 110 POUNDS AND ANOTHER WOMAN WEIGHED ABOUT 145 POUNDS. THEIR RESPONSE WASN'T LOGICAL. ANOTHER RESPONSE WAS THAT THE LEATHER WASN'T SOFT ENOUGH. THE SEATS IN OUR CAR ARE FABRIC, AND VERY SOFT. NISSANS RESPONSE WAS STUPID!! APPARENTLY NISSAN HAS NO IDEA ON HOW TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM. MY HUSBAND AND I ARE VERY UNEASY ABOUT USING THIS CAR WITH THIS VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. AN EASY FIX THAT I WOULD RECOMMEND IS TO DISCONNECT THE WARNING LIGHT AND ARM THE AIRBAG FULL TIME, EVEN IF NO ONE IS IN THE SEAT. LOOKING FORWARD TO HEARING FROM YOU. PURCHASED A NEW 2010 NISSAN MAXIMA. THIS PAST WEEKEND, 4-3-11 WHILE TRAVELING ENGINE DEVELOPED A LOUD SOUND LIKE METAL TO METAL GRINDING OR LOUD MUFFLER. CAR TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE CHECKED, HAS BEEN THERE FOR 4 DAYS AND YESTERDAY WE WERE INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED REPLACED. EXTREMELY LOW MILEAGE ON THIS MODEL & NO EXCUSE FOR THIS TRANSMISSION TO BE BAD ALREADY! IT APPEARS THERE HAVE BEEN OTHER REPORTS OF TRANSMISSIONS GOING BAD IN THE NISSAN MAXIMA, CAN THIS BE INVESTIGATED?? *TR
SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE (NEW), MY WIFE NOTICED THAT WHEN SHE IS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT, THE PASSENGER AIR BAG STATUS LIGHT STAYS ON, INDICATING THE AIR BAG IS TURNED OFF EVEN THOUGH AN ADULT IS SITTING IN THE SEAT. THE DEALERSHIP LOOK AT IT AND CLAIMS THAT IT IS WORKING CORRECTLY AND BLAMED THAT MY WIFE WAS SITTING IN THE SEAT WRONG. IT IS NOT AN OCCURRENCE THAT ALWAYS HAPPENS, JUST PERIODICALLY. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 NISSAN MAXIMA. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO LOCK HER VEHICLE WITH THE KEYLESS ALARM SYSTEM BUT WAS UNABLE TO DO SO. SHE ENTERED THE VEHICLE AND THEN ATTEMPTED TO START THE VEHICLE BUT THERE WAS NO POWER. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. APPROXIMATELY ONE DAY LATER, THE ALARM SUDDENLY SOUNDED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER TOOK A COMPLAINT FOR THE CONTACT AND ADVISED HER THAT THEY WERE UNAWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 9,800. UPDATED 3/21/11 *CN UPDATED 04/25/11
CVT NISSAN 2010 MAXIMA PROBLEMS & ISSUES ----THESE ARE RECORDED PROBLEMS WITH NISSAN'S NEW CVT TRANSMISSION ON NISSAN MAXIMA 2010. THE CVT EXHIBITS LOST OF POWER, HIGH RPM, LOUD WHINING NOISE, AND CVT GETS STUCK IN 6TH GEAR (WON'T DOWN SHIFT) IN MANUAL AND DRIVE MODE. THE CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE AT HIGH SPEEDS AND GIVES A P1778 CODE (OTHER CODES AS WELL). . THIS CVT TRANSMISSION SUCKS. I TOOK IT TO FOUR DEALERSHIPS. I WAS TOLD NOTHING IS WRONG. THE CAR WAS FINALLY DIAGNOSED WITH "CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON". THE ERROR CODE 1778 &. FOUR OTHER CODES WERE PULLED IN TOTAL. THE OVERALL DIAGNOSIS IS "COMPLETE CVT TRANSMISSION FAILURE"I CONTACTED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS. THE CODE OCCURRED AT 44K, 65K, 85K MILES, AND 94K MILES, AND EACH TIME IT WAS UNDIAGNOSABLE SINCE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DID NOT STAY ON. I WAS ABLE TO GET THIS DIAGNOSED WITH A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON AT 124,000 MILES. AT NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS I SPOKE WITH MEGAN, JUANITA AND THEN CALLIA FROM THE EXECUTIVE BRANCH (SO SHE SAYS - SHE WAS A TELEPHONE REPRESENTATIVE). ALL OF THESE NISSAN REPS HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE OF NISSAN ENGINES OR CVT'S. CONSUMER AFFAIRS REFUSED TO BELIEVE THAT THE DEALERS REFUSED TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE PROBLEM EXISTS, EVEN DESPITE THE TSB'S, WARRANTY EXTENSION, NUMEROUS CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS, AND MY NUMEROUS CALLS OVER THE PAST TWO YEARS TO NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS. ALL IN ALL THEY DID NOT EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE THE ONGOING ISSUES WITH THE CVT. THESE NISSAN DEALERS, NISSAN SERVICE DEPARTMENTS, AND NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS ARE CROOKS --- I WOULD ADVISE ANYONE TO NOT BUY NISSAN CARS. IF YOU DO HAVE TO BUY A NISSAN BEWARE THAT THEY WILL TRY TO RIP YOU OFF AT EVERY DIAGNOSIS AND DECISION POINT ON THEIR PART. I AM VERY SORRY TO SAY. I USED TO THINK NISSAN WAS A GOOD COMPANY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER AND THEY ADVISED HER THAT SHE WOULD NEED TO REPLACE THE SEAT. THE PASSENGER SEAT WAS REPLACED AND TWO WEEKS LATER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN IN TO THE DEALER AGAIN AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 10,000.
MY DRIVER SEATS ON MY 2010 MAXIMA SV MOVES BACK AND FORWARD. SOMETIME THE SEAT FAILS TO MOVE BY THE ELECTRIC CONTROLS. I HAVE HAD MY CAR SERVICES TWICE AND NISSAN CANT FIX THE PROBLEM. THEY CALM THEY THE TIGHTEN UP THE BOLT BUT THAT DOES NOT HELP. I FEEL LIKE I AM UNSAFE IN THIS CAR WITH ON 10K MILES ON THE DASH. *TR
PASSENGER AIRBAG INDICATOR REMAINS ON WHEN ADULT (~110 LBS) IS PRESENT IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. ENSURED SEATED PROPERLY, PASSENGER AIRBAG STILL DISABLED. COMPLAINED MANY TIMES TO DEALERSHIP OVER THE COURSE OF 3-4 YEARS WITH A RESPONSE OF "EVERYTHING IS FUNCTIONING PROPERLY". FINALLY THE SEAT BOTTOM WAS REPLACED TO ENSURE THE SENSOR WAS GOOD - PROBLEM PERSISTS, NISSAN DEALERS NO LONGER WILLING TO ATTEMPT TO FIX. THIS VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED WITH A FIVE-STAR CRASH SAFETY RATING, BUT I HARDLY BELIEVE THAT WOULD BE TRUE WITH THE PASSENGER AIRBAG NOT FUNCTIONING. A POTENTIALLY GRAVE SAFETY CONCERN. *TR
MY HUSBAND & I PURCHASED THE 2007 NISSAN MAXIMA FOR OUR DAUGHTER WHO IS NOW EXPECTING HER FIRST CHILD. MY HUSBAND BORROWED HER CAR TO DRIVE MY SISTER HUSBAND AND CHILDREN BACK TO ATLANTA AIRPORT MIND YOU SPEED LIMIT ON I75 IS 70MPH, WHEN THIS MAXIMA LOCKED UP AND SHUT DOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF A 6 LANE HWY. THANKFULLY HE WAS ABLE TO COAST ACROSS THE HWY TO THE SHOULDER AND THE CAR SMELLED SO MY HUSBAND CALLED MY INSURANCE CO. MY SISTER ENDED UP TAKING A TAXI AND WE HAD TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED 95 MILES ($282.00). PYE NISSAN HAS THE CAR IN DALTON AND THE SERVICE TECH SAID THE COMPRESSOR LOCKED UP AND BLEW ALL THE BELTS DUE TO ME NOT HAVING THE COMPRESSOR LUBRICATED. THE CAR WARRANTY EXPIRED JUST A FEW MONTHS AGO AND NISSAN SAID THAT THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DUE AND WANTS $1000.00 TO FIX THIS. I HAVE CALLED ANOTHER NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND THE SERVICE TECH AT THIS DEALERSHIP SAID THAT HE NEVER HEARD OF THE COMPRESSOR BEING LUBRICATED AND HE HAS BEEN WITH NISSAN FOR 20 YEARS. WHERE IS JUSTICE WHEN YOU PURCHASE A $30,000.00 CAR AFTER 3 YRS A MAJOR PART LIKE THIS GOING, I JUST THANK GOD IT WAS MY HUSBAND DRIVING AND NOT MY PREGNANT DAUGHTER. PASSENGER AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATES SPORADICALLY WHILE DRIVING WITH A PASSENGER IN THE FRONT SEAT. VEHICLE HAS 7000 MILES AND I TRADED IN AN IDENTICAL VEHICLE 2009 WITH 25,000 MILES THAT WAS DOING THE EXACT SAME THING. DEALER COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG, BUT AGREED THAT IF THE LIGHT IS ON, THE AIRBAG WOULD NOT DEPLOY IN AN ACCIDENT. HE STATED THAT POSSIBLY "THE LEATHER ON THE SEAT HAS TO AGE TO GIVE IT MORE FLEXIBILITY". MY WIFE IS 140 POUNDS AND 68" TALL. I BELIEVE THAT SHOULD KEEP THE AIRBAG SYSTEM ACTIVE. A GOOGLE SEARCH REVEALED THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM. *TR
2010 NISSAN MAXIMA. CONSUMER STATES UNINTENDED ACCELERATION *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED AS HE APPROACHED A STOP SIGN, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO ACCELERATE AS HE APPLIED THE BRAKE. HE EXPERIENCED IT TWO MORE TIMES, BEFORE HE TOOK THE VEHICLE FOR ITS INITIAL CHECK-UP AND MAINTENANCE. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO FIND A PROBLEM. ON MARCH 29, 2012, AS THE CONSUMER WAS PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO ACCELERATE AGAIN. HE IMMEDIATELY STEPPED ON THE BRAKE AND BARELY AVOIDED A COLLISION WITH A CONCRETE WALL. THE ENGINE STARTED REVVING, SO HE PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AND THE ENGINE ROARED FOR A SECOND OR TWO BEFORE GOING BACK TO NORMAL. THE DEALER STATED THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING ACCORDING TO FACTORY SPECIFICATIONS. *JB THE DEALER REPORTED THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING ACCORDING TO FACTORY SPECIFICATIONS. UPDATED 06/19/12 THE CONSUMER STATED HE HAS SINCE EXPERIENCED ANOTHER EPISODE WITH THE ENGINE RACING, EVEN AS HE APPLIED THE BRAKES. THE CONSUMER STATED HE COULD FEEL THE TENSION OF A TUG OF WAR BETWEEN THE ENGINE AND THE BRAKES, UNTIL HE PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK. UPDATED 09/19/12*JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 NISSAN MAXIMA. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC STOP, TWO VEHICLES STRUCK THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE FROM THE FRONT. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE NECK AND BACK. THERE WERE NO ADDITIONAL INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT'S INSURANCE COMPANY PERFORMED AN INVESTIGATION ON THE VEHICLE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WAS NOT ENOUGH IMPACT TO THE VEHICLE FOR THE AIR BAGS TO DEPLOY. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 1,057. UPDATED 10/21/10*LJ THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THE AIR BAG SENSORS WERE IN THE FLOOR BOARD.
WHEN THE CAR IS IN DRIVE SOMETIMES IT WILL NOT GO AND WILL IDLE. NISSAN KEEPS SAYING THAT THEY CANT FIGURE OUT WHAT IT IS. THEY KEEP PUTTING US BACK IN THE CAR. *TR
CLUNKING NOISE IN FRONT END OF 2010 NISSAN MAXIMA. HAVE BEEN TO THE DEALER ONCE, THEY REPLACED STRUTS, BUT THE NOISE PERSISTS. IT'S ONGOING. I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALER THIS WEEK TO REVISIT THE NOISE PROBLEM, BUT I ANTICIPATE DIFFICULTY. *TR
ACCELERATED VEHICLE TO 50 MILES UP TO 70 MILES ON HIGHWAY. VEHICLES STEERING WHEEL PULLED TO THE RIGHT AS IF THE SUSPENSION HAD TO MUCH POWER FOR THAT MILEAGE. *TR
WHILE DOING NORMAL DRIVING, ON TWO OCCASIONS, ONE COMING DOWN A SLIGHT HILL AND PLANNING TO STOP AT A CORNER, AND ONCE WHEN PULLING INTO MY CARPORT, WITH FOOT LIGHTLY ON THE BRAKE, I NOTICED THE ENGINE RACING AT 2000 RPM OR SO, TRYING TO ACCELERATE. WAS ABLE TO HOLD CAR WITH FOOTBRAKE, AND, AFTER STOPPING, PROBLEM DID NOT SEEM TO REPEAT IMMEDIATELY. *TR
I WAS INVOLVED -- IN FRONT END CAR ACCIDENT WITH MY 2010 NISSAN MAXIMA. THE ACCIDENT RESULTED IN A SEVERE DAMAGE TO THE FRONT END OF MY CAR ALL THE WAY TO THE CAR'S ENGINE. I WAS SURPRISED THAT THE DRIVER'S AIR BAG DID NOT ACTIVATE UNDER THE IMPACT. I TOWED MY CAR TO THE NISSAN DEALER AND I SPOKE WITH THEIR SHOP MECHANICS, HE WAS ALSO SURPRISE THAT THE AIRBAG DID NOT ACTIVATE AND HE SUGGESTED THE AIRBAG FRONTAL SENSORS MIGHT BE DEFECTED. HE REFERRED ME TO NISSAN MANUFACTURE DEPARTMENT. AFTER CONTACTING THEM, A REPRESENTATIVE EMAILED ME AN AIR BAG MANUAL. I'M REALLY WORRIED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY AND MYSELF DRIVING A DEFECTED CAR. I WOULD APPRECIATE IT IF YOU ADVISE ME TO WHAT TO DO. THANK YOU *TR
THE CAR HAS ELECTRONIC STEERING AND IS A SAFETY HAZARD IN MY OPINION. THE CAR WILL DRIFT TO THE RIGHT ON ITS OWN AND WHEN YOU STEER IT BACK TO PREVENT RUNNING OFF THE PAVEMENT THE CAR VEERS TO YOUR LEFT AND WOULD RUN OFF THE ROAD TO YOUR LEFT IF YOU DO NOT CORRECT IT. ON A STRAIGHT STRETCH OF ROAD HOLDING THE STEERING WHEEL STRAIGHT THE CAR WILL DART TO THE LEFT AND THEN TO THE RIGHT WITHOUT MOVING THE STEERING WHEEL. ON THE TEST DRIVE I RODE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT AND COULD FEEL THE CAR MOVING TO THE LEFT AND RIGHT, THE SERVICE MGR SAID HE COULD FEEL IT ALSO BUT SAID THAT WAS BECAUSE OF THE CROWN IN THE ROAD. THIS PROBLEM BECOMES A SAFETY PROBLEM WHEN ON NARROW FOUR LANE ROADS, YOU MUST CONSTANTLY FIGHT THE STEERING WHEEL TO KEEP THE CAR ON THE ROAD OR KEEP FROM RUNNING INTO THE CAR ON YOUR LEFT. I HAVE TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT I WOULD JUST HAVE TO GET USED TO THIS BECAUSE OF THE ELECTRONIC STEERING IS DIFFERENT FROM MY PREVIOUS CARS. I WAS TOLD THERE WAS NO ADJUSTMENT THAT COULD BE MADE TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM. I AM 70 YEARS OLD AND HAVE DRIVEN A FEW CARS IN MY TIME AND CAN TELL YOU THIS CAR SHOULD NOT DRIVE THE WAY IT DOES, IT IS JUST AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 NISSAN MAXIMA. THE CONTACT HAD SEVERAL PROBLEMS WITH HIS HEADLIGHTS. WHEN DRIVING IN A RURAL AREA OR AT NIGHT THE HEADLIGHTS WERE NOT PROPERLY ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED, THE DEALER STATED THAT THE CURRENT VOLTAGES WERE SUFFICIENT AND FOUND NO PROBLEMS. THE CONTACT HAS NOT HAD ANY ACCIDENTS BUT FEELS THAT IT MAY BE IN THE MAKING. THE CONTACT DID NOTIFY THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS TOLD THAT HE COULD CONTACT THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 1600.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 NISSAN MAXIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 3 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO ACCELERATE WITHOUT DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THERE WERE NO FAILURES WITH THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE RECURRED THREE TIMES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALLS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
2010 NISSAN MAXIMA. CONSUMER STATES UNSAFE TO BACK UP IN THE VEHICLE DUE TO HEAD RESTRAINTS *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED HE COULD NOT SEE OVER OR AROUND THE HEAD REST BECAUSE THEY WERE TOO LARGE AND BLOCKED THE BACK-UP VIEW. REMOVING THE HEAD REST WAS NOT AN OPTION DUE TO SAFETY REASONS.*JB
