VEHICLE HEADLAMP FAILED ACCORDING TO THE NISSAN DEALER WE TOOK IT TO. THEY CLAIMED THEY HAVE NEVER SEEN ONE FAIL. NOW I'M FREAKED OUT TO DRIVE CAR THINKING ABOUT WHAT IF THE OTHER FAILS COMPLETELY. THEY WILL DO NOTHING TO FIX IT. ITS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. I DON'T WANT TO GET INTO A WRECK IF THE HEADLAMPS FAIL ON BOTH SIDES. THEY ARE PUTTING MYSELF AND DAUGHTER AT RISK.
SO I HAVE HAD MY NISSAN FOR A YEAR NOW AND I HAVE NEVER HIT ANYONE AND NO ONE HAS EVER HIT ME. SO AS I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK MY MIRROR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE, THE ONE OUTSIDE, JUST CAME OFF AND WENT FLYING.
VEHICLE HAS HEAVY FOGGING OF PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT WHICH HAS BECOME INCREASINGLY EVIDENT. THE SYMPTOM HAS PROGRESSED TO THE POINT WHERE IT IS CAUSING ELECTRICAL ISSUES IN THE FORM OF FLICKERING HEADLIGHTS AND INCONSISTENT DIRECTIONAL SIGNALS WHEN THE WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE WET ENOUGH. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. ONE PHOTO I HAVE TAKEN REVEALS WHAT IS AN APPARENT INTERNAL CRACK IN THE ASSEMBLY. THIS WAS NOT CAUSED BY ANY EXTERNAL FORCES, IMPACT, ETC. IT IS INTERNAL TO THE ASSEMBLY.
I EXPERIENCED A LOSS OF BRAKE PRESSURE WHEN STARTING MY CAR AND WAS ABLE TO STOP THE CAR ONLY FROM A LOW SPEED. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO THE CLOSEST DEALER, MARTIN NISSAN IN SKOKIE IL. THE DEALER REPORTED A FLUID LEAK AND THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER HAD FAILED. THE DEALER REPLACED THE MASTER CYLINDER BUT STILL OBSERVED THAT THERE WAS STILL A LOSS OF BRAKE PRESSURE. THE DEALER THEN REPLACED THE ABS BRAKE ACTUATOR WHICH RESOLVED THE BRAKE PRESSURE ISSUE. THE ABS BRAKE ACTUATOR HAS BEEN REPLACED TWICE BEFORE ON THIS VEHICLE, ONCE UNDER NHTSA SAFETY RECALL CAMPAIGN 16V193000 AND ONCE UNDER NHTSA SAFETY RECALL CAMPAIGN 16V636000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN UNKNOWN NISSAN DEALER, BUT NO FAILURE WAS FOUND. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,079.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A NISSAN MAXIMA 2016. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE STARTED TO THE HEADLINER TOP COVERS DETACHED FROM BOTH SIDES OF THE REAR WINDOWS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE LOCAL DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER AGREED TO PAY FOR 90% OF THE REPAIR AND THE CONTACT WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR 10%. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO (SUTHERLIN NISSAN ORLANDO, 8125 E COLONIAL DR, ORLANDO, FL 32817, (407) 792-3972) WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THE REPAIR WAS NOT EFFECTIVE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,000.
BACK SEAT SEATBELT CAME FROM FRAME OF CARE AND HANGING.
I WAS MAKING A LEFT TURN FROM THE HIGHWAY ON TO A SIDE STREET & WAS T-BONED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE BY A SUV. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT IMPLORE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 NISSAN MAXIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL FAILED TO TURN LEFT OR RIGHT, WHILE DRIVING AT 65 MPH. THE POWER STEERING LIGHT ILLUMINATED WHILE THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE COAST THE VEHICLE OUT OF HIGHWAY TRAFFIC. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACTS RESIDENCE. THE FOLLOWING DAY THE STEERING WHEEL RETURNED TO NORMAL FUNCTION. THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE TO COLONIAL NISSAN STATE OF MASSACHUSETTS PHONE NUMBER: (781-352-008) TO HAVE A DIAGNOSTIC PERFORMED. A DIAGNOSTIC REPORT WAS NOT FINALIZED. THE VIN INFORMATION WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 11,066.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 NISSAN MAXIMA. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT WRESTLED WITH THE STEERING WHEEL IN AN EFFORT TO AVOID CRASHING INTO THE ONCOMING BARRIER. LECKNER NISSAN OF ELLICOTT CITY, MARYLAND WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND HELD THE VEHICLE FOR TWO WEEKS. THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY COULD DUPLICATE THE FAILURE THE FIRST WEEK. THE DEALER EXAMINED THE STEERING PUMP DURING THE SECOND WEEK AND STATED THAT THE CONTACT WOULD HAVE TO PAY A FEE FOR THE POWER STEERING FLUSH THAT WAS CONDUCTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,961.
WHEN STOPPED AND START TO MOVE THE ENGINE OR TRANSMISSION JERKS AND SLIPS. SLIGHT LOSS OF POWER AS WELL. JERKS AND SLIPS AGAIN N REGAINS POWER. HAPPENS FROM A STOP AND ALSO FROM FIRST GEAR TO SECOND GEAR.
THE BRAKES HAVE BEEN SQUEALING AT HIGHER SPEEDS AS WELL AS AT LOWER SPEEDS. IT DOESN'T MATTER IF YOU ARE GOING STRAIGHT OR TURNING, THE SQUEAKS DON'T SEEM TO STOP.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 NISSAN MAXIMA. WHILE TRYING TO AVOID A DISABLED VEHICLE, THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL DUE TO DEBRIS IN THE ROAD. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONT END COLLISION WITH A GUARDRAIL. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING AND THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THERE WAS ONE INJURY THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE; HOWEVER, IT HAD NOT YET BEEN DETERMINED WHETHER IT WAS DESTROYED. THE CONTACT SUFFERED MINOR BRUISING AND BACK PAIN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 25,000.
TAKATA RECALL I WAS TRAVELING DOWN HIGHWAY 121 AT ABOUT 70 MILES AN HOUR CRUISE CONTROL IS SET THE LADY IN FRONT OF ME SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES I INTERN SLAMMED ON MINE AND MY CAR DID NOT STOP UNTIL HITTING HER THE BRAKES SEEM TO HAVE THAT LIKE THEY WEREN'T STOPPING THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR IN THE CAR MADE A REALLY REALLY AWKWARD AWKWARD SOUND I DID END UP WITH A LITTLE DAMAGE ON MY FRONT BUMPER NO INJURIES AND HAD TO MAKE AN INSURANCE CLAIM FOR HER BUMPER. MY POWER STEERING IN MY VEHICLE ALSO GOES IN AND OUT AND NO LEAK HAS BEEN FOUND.
MY SON PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE NEW 2016 NISSAN MAXIMA ON 11-14-2015. HE IS IN THE MILITARY AND NOW RESIDES IN EL PASO, TX. AS HE WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE HIS TIRE BLEW OUT. AT THAT TIME HE HAD ABOUT 8000 MILES. HE CONTACTED NISSAN WAS TOLD THE WARRANTY DIDN'T COVER TIRES AND HE HAD TO PURCHASE A NEW TIRE. THIS 1ST INSTANCE OCCURRED IN JUNE 2016. THE 2ND TIRE BLOW OUT OCCURRED IN NOVEMBER 2016. THE 3RD INSTANCE OCCURRED MARCH 2017.
THE SEAT BELTS INDICATOR LIGHTS FOR THE DRIVER NEVER COMES ON EVEN WHEN YOU REMOVE THE SEAT BELTS I'VE REPORTED THIS ISSUE TO MY LOCAL DEALER BUT THE DIDN'T FIX IT.
STEERING/STRAIGHT LINE TRACKING ON THIS NISSAN MAXIMA SV (PURCHASED 06/28/2016) IS HORRIBLY UNPREDICTABLE FROM IT'S DATE OF PURCHASE. DRIVER REQUIRED TO BE HYPERSENSITIVE TO CORRECTING TRACKING/LINE DIRECTION OF AFOREMENTIONED VEHICLE. NATURAL TENDENCY OF FRONT WHEELS ARE TO CAREEN TO LEFT AND RIGHT ABRUPTLY AND DANGEROUSLY WITH THE RESULT BEING TO MOVE INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC LANE OR DRIFT QUICKLY OUTSIDE OF PAINTED LANE LINES. CONSTANT AND INORDINATE ATTENTION IS NEEDED TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE AT SPEEDS OF 50 MPH OR HIGHER. IN MOTION, HIGHWAY, STRAIGHT PATHS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 NISSAN MAXIMA. WHILE DRIVING 50-55 MPH AND ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CONTACT LOST POWER STEERING, POWER BRAKES, AND OTHER ELECTRICAL FUNCTIONS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DEALER REPLACED THE VALVE ASSEMBLY, SEAL LIP, STRAINER ASSEMBLY, CLIP, OIL PAN GASKET, O-RING SEAL, WASHER DRAIN, AND NS-3 CVT TRANSMISSION; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 13,131.
WAS DRIVING EAST ON 495 MARYLAND ABOUT 55 MPH. APPROACHING ANOTHER CAR AND PRESSED THE BREAKS TO STOP. MY CAR WOULD NOT STOP. PRESSED THE BREAKS AS HARD AS I COULD AND THE CAR WOULD NOT STOP. I CAUSED A THREE CAR ACCIDENT. MY CAR WAS TOTALLED....UPDATED 03/29/17 *BF *CN
I BOUGHT THIS CAR FROM A USE CAR DEALER ON 01/31/2017. ON 02/08/2017 MY DAUGHTER TOLD ME TO GO ON LAINEY AND ENTER MY VIN NUMBER BECAUSE THERE WAS A RECALL ON MY 2016 NISSAN MAXIMA SR. I CALLED LYNCH NISSAN AND TOLD THEM I HAD PURCHASED A CAR WITH RECALL ON IT WITH A FIRE HAZARD AND THEY TOLD ME TO BRING IT IN ON MONDAY, 02/12/2017. I TOOK THE CAR IN FOR THE REPAIR AND THEY CALLED ME ON WEDNESDAY, 02/14/2017 TO PICKUP MY CAR. BECAUSE I WAS AT WORK, I ASKED IF I COULD PICK UP THE CAR THE NEXT DAY. I WAS TOLD NO BECAUSE THEY HAD PROVIDED ME A RENTAL CAR AND I HAD TO RETURN IT ON THE DAY THE WORK WAS COMPLETED. ONCE I RETURNED THE RENTAL CAR, I WAS TOLD THE RENTAL CAR WAS FINE. WHEN I WENT TO THE SERVICE CENTER I WAS ASKED TO SIGN A PAPER BUT THEY WOULD HAVE TO MAIL ME THE PAPERS STATING WHAT WAS DONE TO MY CAR. I HAVE NEVER BEEN ASKED TO SIGNED SOMETHING AND THEN TOLD THEY CAN'T PROVIDE ME A COPY. BECAUSE THIS CAR WAS SOLD TO ME WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE OF IT HAVING A FIRE HAZARD, I CALLED NISSAN (NESSIE) AND ASKED THEM TO BUY THE CAR BACK AND THEY REFUSED. NISSAN IS NOW SAYING EVERYTHING HAS BEEN TAKEN CARE OF BUT I HAVE NO DOCUMENTATION OF WHAT THEY ASKED ME TO SIGN NOR WHAT TYPE OF WORK WAS PERFORMED ON MY CAR. BECAUSE I HAD NO KNOWLEDGE OF THIS RECALL BEFORE I PURCHASE THIS CAR AND NOT HAVING A COPY OF WHAT NISSAN ASKED ME TO SIGN, I AM NOW AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS CAR BECAUSE OF THE FIRE HAZARD.
WHILE MY WIFE WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON INTERSTATE 10 HATING WEST TOWARDS TEXAS ON VACATION THE SUNROOF EXPLODED. I FEEL THIS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND UNSAFE THAT TEMPERED GLASS IS BEING USED FOR A SUNROOF ABOVE A DRIVER AND NOT LAMINATED GLASS.
WATER VAPOR OR FOG DEVELOPS IN THE HEADLIGHTS WHICH HAVE CAUSE A HAZE ON THE INTERIOR OF THE HEADLAMPS.
IN LATE NOVEMBER 2016 THE ABS AND OTHER WARNING LIGHTS ON MY 2016 NISSAN MAXIMA BEGAN INTERMITTENTLY APPEARING ON THE DASHBOARD. I NOTIFIED THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD TO MENTION IT DURING THE NEXT SERVICE APPOINTMENT WHICH WAS SCHEDULED FOR DECEMBER 27. AT THE APPOINTMENT I WAS NOTIFIED OF SEVERAL RECALLS AND THE VEHICLE WAS KEPT OVERNIGHT. WHEN I PICKED IT UP THE NEXT DAY THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT INDICATED THAT THEY COULD NOT REPRODUCE THE ISSUE. I WAS ALSO NOTIFIED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON AN ABS BRAKE ACTUATOR PUMP HOWEVER THE PART WAS BACK ORDERED FROM NISSAN. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT ASKED ME AND TO TAKE A PICTURE OF THE DASH IF THE INDICATOR LIGHTS APPEARED AGAIN. APPROXIMATELY 1 WEEK LATER THE LIGHTS REAPPEARED AND I TOOK THE ATTACHED PHOTO. I NOTIFIED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY INDICATED THEY WOULD LOOK AT IT WHEN THE RECALL PART WAS INSTALLED AND WOULD SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT ONCE THE PART ARRIVED. ON JANUARY 19, 2017 THE CAR CAUGHT FIRE AFTER SITTING FOR OVER 2 HOURS AND BURNED TO A TOTAL LOSS. AT NO TIME WAS I NOTIFIED THAT THE RECALL WAS A FIRE HAZARD. SINCE THE INCIDENT I HAVE FILED A CASE WITH NISSAN HOWEVER THEY HAVE TAKEN OVER A MONTH TO RESPOND AND BY THE TIME THEY INSPECT THE VEHICLE IT WILL BE OVER 45 DAYS. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN INSPECTED BY MY INSURANCE COMPANY AND ALL INDICATORS POINT TO A DEFECTIVE PART.
2016 NISSAN MAXIMA BREAKS SQUEAK ON EVERY STOP. DEALER, HEARS THE NOISE, CLAIMS RESURFACED ROTORS, SANDED BREAK PADS HOWEVER THE NOISE PERSISTS. CONCERN OVER THE RELIABILITY OF THE BREAKING SYSTEM. HAD DEALER LOOK AT THE BREAKS 5 SEPARATE APPOINTMENTS. THEY NOW SAY THE NOISE IS ASSOCIATED WITH THE PADS AND I HAVE TO LIVE WITH IT. MY CONCERN IS THERE MAY BE A DEEPER ISSUE THAT THEY ARE NOT ADDRESSING. I COMMUTE 100 MILES DAILY ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY. I AM EXPRESSING THIS CONCERN FOR SOMEONE TO LOOK INTO THE SAFETY OF THIS ISSUE. NEW CAR BREAKS JUST DON'T SQUEAL ON EACH BREAKING ACTION. PLEASE REVIEW AND ADVISE ME OF ANY AVENUE THAT I CAN USE TO GET THIS ADDRESSED AS WELL AS TAKE MY COMMENTS TO ADDRESS OTHERS WITH THE SAME CONCERN. THANK YOU.
FRONT BUMPER CLIP BROKEN CAR STALLS WHEN DRIVING UP AN INCLINE AT LOW SPEEDS. CAR PULLS TO THE LEFT WHEN DRIVING. ALIGNMENT WAS CHECKED, BUT WAS FINE ACCORDING TO A NISSAN DEALER TECHNICIAN. THE STEERING WHEEL SEEMED TO MOMENTARILY LOCK WHEN MAKING A SWIFT AND SHARP LEFT TURN.
WHEN I TURN MY HEAT UP , MY CAR SMELLS OF GASOLINE.. I HAVE SPOKE WITH ONES I KNOW WHO HAS THE SAME PROBLEM, ARE WE THE ONLY ONES WHO HAVE THE PROBLEM.. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.

I JUST MERGED ONTO THE HIGHWAY GOING I-55 SOUTH FROM COUNTYLINE RD, WHEN I HEARD A VERY LOUD NOISE SIMILAR TO A GUN SHOT IN CLOSE RANGE AND WAS LITERALLY FRIGHTENING. THEN I HEARD AIR SEEPING THROUGH MY SUNROOF AREA SO I PULLED OVER ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY BECAUSE I STARTED TO SHAKE UNCONTROLLABLELY AND I HAD MY 7 MONTH OLD IN THE CAR AS WELL. I WAS ABLE TO LOOK ON TOP OF THE CAR AND SAW THAT THE FRONT SUNROOF WAS SHATTERED. I IMMEDIATELY TOOK THE VEHICLE TO GRAY DANIELS NISSAN NORTH IN JACKSON, MS. THEY TOLD ME THAT THIS WILL HAVE TO FALL UNDER MY INSURANCE BUT I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY. THIS IS A DEFECT ON HOW THIS MODEL CAR HANDLES PRESSURE CAUSING THE SUNROOF TO EXPLODE! MY EARS AND HEAD ARE ACHING DUE TO THE EXPLOSIVE SOUND.
THE OUTSIDE REARVIEW MIRRORS AUTOMATICALLY ADJUST TO A LOWER VIEW WHEN THE CAR IS BACKING UP. WHEN PUTTING THE CAR IN D (DRIVE), THE MIRRORS ARE SUPPOSED TO RETURN TO THE NORMAL SETTING. THE DRIVER SIDE MIRROR DOES NOT; IT NEEDS TO BE MANUALLY RESET EACH TIME.

THE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE NECK, HEAD, AND LOWER BACK THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V733000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 16,000.
I FIND IT RIDICULOUS THAT A BRAND NEW CAR WOULD BE RECALLED B4 I EVEN GET 5,000 MILES ESPECIALLY IN A WAY THAT IS DANGEROUS AND COULD CAUSE FIRE TO MY CAR, SAFETY SHOULD HAVE BEEN GUARANTEED B4 THIS CAR WAS SOLD, I WANTED A DIFFERENT MODEL THAT I WAS TOLD WAS ON SALES HOLD, IF THEY KNEW IT WAS A PROBLEM THEY SHOULDN'T HAVE SOLD US THE CAR!

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS FUNCTIONING AS DESIGNED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 240.

NHTSA CAMPAIGN #15V486000 & NNA FILE #19808586. NEW FUEL TANK HAS BEEN INSTALLED BY DEALER. I'M NOT COMFORTABLE THAT DEALER INSTALLATION SATISFIES THE SAFETY ISSUE OF A REAR END COLLISION. HAS NHTSA RE-TESTED OR OTHERWISE IS SATISFIED THAT THE FUEL TANK INSTALLED AT DEALER LEVEL (VERSUS BY MANUFACTURER) ELIMINATES THE SAFETY ISSUE? THE CONSUMER WOULD LIKE THE FUEL TANK RE-TESTED. FRONT BUMPER CLIP WAS BROKEN, STILL WAITING FOR DEALER TO REPLACE BUMPER. LEFT TAIL LIGHT HAS WATER IN IT.
TAKATA RECALL.I BROUGHT MY 2016 MAXIMA IN JUNE 2015. PLASTIC BOTTLES MELTS AND EXPLODES IN MY CAR. AND EYE GLASS CLASS MELTS. FRONT RIGHT BUMBER CLAMPS BROKE OFF. MONTHS LATER CAT STARTED MAKING A CHRUCHING SOUND WHEN I HIT A BUMP. REPLACE BUSHINGS. 3 DAYS LATER THE NOSE CAME BACK. WENT BACK TO NISSAN THEY SAID THE STRUT NEEDED TO BE REPLACE. WENT BACK 2 MONTHS LATER THE PART IS STILL ON BACK ORDER. FRONT DRIVER SEAT BROKE IN THE 1ST 2 WEEKS OF OWNING IT. GOT A NEW SEAT. AND THE DOOR JAMS WAS POORLY PAINTED. TOOK ALMOST 7 WEEKS TO GET A NEW SEAT AND PAINT FOR THE CAR. DRIVER SEAT BEAT LATCH JAMMED UP HAD TO GET THAT REPLACE TOO.
