STARTED MAKING A NOISE AS A FLAT TIRE, I PARKED IT. NEXT DAY I TOOK IT TO THE SHOP, NISSAN DEALERSHIP, THEY SAID IS THE TRANSFER CASE AND WANT $ 3,500 TO FIX IT, I RESEARCHED ON THIS ISSUE AND FOUND LOTS, TOO MANY PEOPLE COMPLAINING OF THIS ISSUE, NISSAN HAS TO BE AWARE OF THE BAD QUALITY OF THEIR PRODUCT AND ASSUME THE THEIR PART ON IT, OR PEOPLE WILL HAVE TO SPEND LOTS OF MONEY ON THIS. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN MURANO. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE DRIVER SEAT TILTED TO THE LEFT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE DRIVER SEAT METAL FRAME NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE SEAT BRACKET NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE CAR STALLED AND STOPPED SUDDENLY WITH NO WARNING. HAD IT TOWED AND FOUND OUT IT WAS THE TRANSFER CASE. *JS
I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. I HEARD A POP AND THE SEAT TILTED TO THE LEFT. MY FIRST INSTINCT WAS TO SWERVE AND I NARROWLY MISSED HITTING THE CENTER DIVIDER. ONCE I CALMED DOWN AND RECOVERED, I DROVE HOME. I PROBABLY SHOULD NOT HAVE DONE THAT. WHEN I CAME HOME, I LOOKED UNDERNEATH THE SEAT AND OBSERVED THE SEAT BRACKET ASSEMBLY CRACKED AT THE WELD. I CONTACTED THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THIS IS VERY COMMON. I AM NOT SURE WHAT VERY MEANS. COST OF REPAIR IS $1700-2500. HE RECOMMENDED GOING TO A BODY SHOP TO HAVE THE PART WELDED BACK TOGETHER. *TR
I WAS DRIVING DOWN HWY 100 IN MILWAUKEE AT APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH WHEN THE CAR SUDDENLY DIED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD, FORTUNATELY NO ACCIDENT WAS CAUSED BECAUSE OF THE SUDDEN STOP. THE CAR WOULD NOT START AFTER THIS STOP. I PUSHED THE CAR INTO A NEARBY PARKING LOT AND TOOK THE BATTERY INTO A LOCAL HARDWARE STORE. THE BATTERY WAS DEAD AND NEEDED TO BE CHARGED. I RE INSTALLED THE BATTERY AND GOT THE CAR STARTED (THE ENGINE SOUNDED LOUD) AND DROVE TO THE AUTO STORE AND HAD THE ALTERNATOR TESTED - IT WAS DEAD. I STARTED TO DRIVE THE CAR HOME AND IT WOULD NOT GO ABOVE 30 MPH AND THE CEL WAS ON. THE NEXT MORNING I HAD THE ALTERNATOR REPLACED (SUNDAY), THE BATTERY KEPT IT'S CHARGE. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE NISSAN DEALER ON MONDAY MORNING - THEY DETERMINED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I GOT MY CAR BACK AFTER 2 WEEKS AND DROVE IT HOME. I DID NOTICE THAT THE THERE WAS A SLIGHT WHINE - I THOUGHT IT WAS WITH THE REPLACED TRANSMISSION. I GOT LOUDER EACH DAYAND I TOOK IT BACK TO THE NISSAN DEALER, BUT THE NOISE WOULD QUIT AFTER IT WARMED UP. THE NISSAN DEALER DETERMINED THAT IT WAS THE HIGH PRESSURE POWER STEERING HOSE. THESE EVENTS APPEARED TO BE CAUSED BY A PREVIOUS EVENT - (1) ALTERNATOR (2) TRANSMISSION (3) HIGH PRESSURE POWER STEERING HOSE, ALL STARTED NOVEMBER 27 2014, AND LASTLY ENDED ON FEBRUARY 10, 2015, HOPEFULLY. *TR
HAD NOTICED THAT THE GAS GAUGE READ EMPTY AND THE FUEL LIGHT CAME ON. I HAD JUST PUT GAS IN THE VECHICLE 2 DAYS BEFORE. I LOOKED FOR A LEAK AND THERE WAS NOTHING NOTICABLE. I FILLED THE TANK, RETURNED TO THE CAR TO CHECK THE GAUGE AND NOTICED THAT IT READ 3/4. I STARTED DRIVING AND AS I WAS DRIVING IT FLUCTUATED BETWEEM FULL AND 3/4. I TALKED TO MY WIFE ABOUT THE ISSUE AND SHE HAD NOTICED THAT THE GAS GAUGE HAD BEEN READING INACCURATELY THE PAST COUPLE OF DAYS. *TR
CAR LOSES ITS ELECTRIC POWER...SHUTS DOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING. THE SEAT BELTS IN THE BACK DO NOT WORK. THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEATS SHIFT. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 112,000.
DRIVING THE CAR WHEN HEARING BIG BANGING NOISE COMING FROM THE HOOD FROM THE CAR SOUNDLY THE CAR BROKE DOWN TOWING IT IN TO THE DEALER SAYING THAT IT'S THE TRANSFER CASE THAT WENT WITH OUT ANY WARNING READING UP ON LINE SEEING THAT THIS IS A BIG PROBLEM WILL AL NISSAN THEY SHOULD BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR THIS IT'S A SAFETY HAZARD. *TR

I OWN A 2008 NISSAN MURANO WHILE ATTEMPTING TO DRIVE AFTER A LIGHT CHANGE MY VEHICLE LOSS ACCELERATION. LUCKILY, THE CAR BEHIND ME DIDN'T SLAM INTO ME I WAS ABLE SAFELY GET OUT OF THE WAY. THE PEDAL WAS TO THE FLOOR YET THE CAR BARLEY MOVED THEN IT LURCHED FORWARD AND WAS FINE. I TOOK TO A MECHANIC NOTHING A FEW WEEKS LATER AFTER NO ISSUE IT HAPPEN AGAIN ON THE HIGHWAY WHICH WAS DANGEROUS AND SCARY AGAIN I TOOK THIS VEHICLE TO A MECHANIC WHO SAID THERE WAS A LEAK AT THE TRANSFER CASE I HAD REPAIRED. TWO DAYS LATER AFTER BEING STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED TO BE AN ISSUE WITH THE CVT TRANSMISSION. I WAS TOLD THIS IS A DEFECT NISSAN IS AWARE OF, THEY THEN TOLD ME ABOUT THE KNOWN MANUFACTURER ISSUE OF THE TRANSMISSION AND SUGGESTED I BRING IT TO NISSAN AND SEE IF THEY COULD DO ANYTHING FOR ME. I TOOK THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THAT NISSAN COULD DO BUT TO SLAP IN ANOTHER TRANSMISSION AND THAT IT WOULD NOT BE COVERED BY WARRANTY SINCE I WAS OVER THE EXTENDED 120,0000 MILES. THEY DID GIVE ME THE OPTION TO HAVE THEM THROW IN A NEW TRANSMISSION AT COST OF $4000. I THEN CALLED NISSAN NORTH AMERICA CONSUMER AFFAIRS NO RESPONSE. THIS IS A KNOWN MANUFACTURER DEFECT AND NISSAN REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE ISSUE. RESEARCH SHOWS THOUSANDS OF CUSTOMERS HAVE THE SAME ISSUE; IT IS NOT A COINCIDENCE. IT IS A TACTIC PLAYED BY NISSAN SO THEY WILL NOT BARE FINANCIAL AND REPUTATION DETERIORATION. INSTEAD THEY ARE PUTTING THAT ON THE PAYING CONSUMER. NOT RIGHT!! *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER'S SEAT FELL BACKWARDS AFTER A LOUD CRACKING SOUND EMITTED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE SEAT FRAME NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,000.
GOT IN THE VEHICLE AND THE SEAT FRAME BROKE (DRIVER'S SEAT - LEFT REAR). THIS IS GOING TO HAPPEN WITH EVERY 2003-2007 SOMETIME. NISSAN NEEDS TO RECALL. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. SOMEONE WILL BE KILLED IF THIS HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING. THIS IS A $1,200 REPAIR FROM THE DEALER. I DIDN'T GET IT FIXED YET. HELP!! *TR

SAT IN CAR TO TAKE DAUGHTER TO SCHOOL. HEARD A LOUD CLUNK AND MY DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BROKE. THE REAR BRACKET CAME LOOSE AND NOW MY SEAT WOBBLES/BOUNCES ALL OVER THE PLACE. OVER BUMPS IT'S WORSE. TURNING A CORNER SENDS ME UP AGAINST THE DOOR. I FIND MYSELF GRABBING THE STEERING WHEEL FOR BALANCE AND THAT CAUSES MY CAR TO SWERVE. HUBBY THOUGHT I WAS EXAGGERATING UNTIL HE SAT IN SEAT. LOOKED ONLINE AND SAW MANY SIMILAR COMPLAINTS. CALLED NISSAN AND THE SERVICE ADVISOR SAID IT'S A COMMON PROBLEM AND I SHOULD CALL NISSAN TO SEE IF THEY WILL COVER PARTS. IT'S A SAFETY ISSUE!!! IF NISSAN IS AWARE THERE'S THIS BIG OF A PROBLEM WHY NO RECALL? BECAUSE NO ONE HAS DIED?? SEEMS THAT'S THE ONLY WAY THEY WILL MAKE THIS RIGHT. RIGHT NOW I'M USING THE "FIX" THE GUY BEFORE ME USED....PIECE OF WOOD UNDER THE SEAT TO KEEP IT STABLE ENOUGH TO DRIVE. QUOTED $1700 PARTS AND LABOR. *TR

WHILE DRIVING MY WIFE HEARD POP AND DRIVER'S SEAT BROKE DIPPING TO THE LEFT AT REAR OF SEAT. I'VE INVESTIGATED THIS MATTER AND SEAT WILL COST OVER $1,000 TO REPLACE AND IS A COMMON PROBLEM. CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHY IF THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM THIS IS NOT SUBJECT TO A RECALL. FROM THE NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS IT LOOKS TO ME AS THOUGH THE METAL USED TO MAKE THE SEAT BRACKET IS NOT STURDY, OR DEFECTIVE METAL IS BEING USED. *TR
WHILE THE CAR WAS IN MOTION I HEARD A POP, THE DRIVERS SEAT AND MYSELF, LURCHED BACK AND TO THE LEFT INTO THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR. I WAS VERY STARTLED BUT LUCKILY WAS ABLE TO HOLD ONTO THE STEERING WHEEL OTHERWISE I WOULD HAVE LOST CONTROL OF THE CAR. *TR
WHILE VEHICLE WAS UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY, AND AT APPROXIMATELY 60,000 MILES THE DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR FAILED TO STAY IN ITS STOWED/RAISED POSITION. DRIVER SIDE VISOR WOULD DROP RAPIDLY INTO FIELD OF VIEW UNEXPECTEDLY AND AT THE SLIGHTEST ROAD VIBRATION AS WE TRAVELED ALONG. MONTHS WERE SPENT DRIVING WITH LEFT HAND OCCUPIED AS A TOOL TO HOLD THE DEFECTIVE VISOR UP AND OUT OF VISUAL FIELD. WHILE HANDS AND COMPLETE ATTENTION ARE NEEDED FOR SAFE VEHICLE OPERATION, MANAGING A FAULTY SUN VISOR TO MAINTAIN FULL VIEW OF ROAD DETAILS IS A SERIOUS DISTRACTION. DISTRACTED DRIVING IS RECOGNIZED/DOCUMENTED BY A MULTITUDE OF ACCIDENTS, OFTEN OF DEADLY CONSEQUENCE. THE DEFECTIVE DRIVER'S VISOR WAS REPLACED AT OUR EXPENSE, NO WARRANTY, HOWEVER, FAILED IN THE SAME IRRITATING AND DANGEROUS MANNER IN LESS THAN TWO YEARS. FOR SAFETY SAKE I'LL MOST LIKELY REMOVE THE DEFECTIVE VISOR AND TOSS TO TRASH BEFORE A THIRD VISOR IS PURCHASED WITH SAME DANGEROUS, VISUAL-OBSTRUCTING, BUILT-IN MALFUNCTION.
ALL MOTOR MOUNTS AND TRANSMISSION MOUNTS FAILED AT 65,000 AND BROUGHT INTO REPAIR AT 74,000 MILES. EXTREME SCARY VIBRATION WHEN DRIVING. THUMP AND CLUNKING AND BANGING SOUND ON ENGINE WHEN DEPRESSING THE GAS PEDAL. VERY EXPENSIVE $2,900.00 REPAIR AT NISSAN DEALER.
I HAVE A 2007 NISSAN MURANO AND AS I WAS DRIVING THE SEAT BROKE CAUSING ME TO ALMOST SLIDE OFF THE SEAT. I CALLED NISSAN TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE IT FIXED AND WAS TOLD THAT IT WOULD COST ME $1500.00. I DECIDED TO GO HOME AND CHECK IF THERE HAD BEEN ANY RECALL ON THIS PART AND WAS SHOCKED TO SEE LETTER AFTER LETTER FROM NISSAN MURANO OWNER WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS I FEEL IS VERY DANGEROUS AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN ADDRESSED WITH A RECALL FROM THE DEALER.SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET REALLY HURT IF THEY ARE RIDING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 65 MILES AN HOUR AND THE SEAT BREAKS. I HOPE BY WRITING TO YOU THIS CAN BE AVOIDED. *TR
ENTERED DRIVER'S SIDE OF VEHICLE, SAT IN SEAT, AND HEARD A SNAPPING/BREAKING TYPE NOISE. IN SITTING ON THE SEAT IT BEGAN TO WOBBLE AND WAS ON A SLANT. HAD TO PLACE A PIECE OF WOOD TO LEVEL IT OFF SO I COULD USE MY VEHICLE. *TR
PASSENGER SEAT OCCUPANT CONTROL UNIT FAILED AND AIRBAGS WILL NOT WORK IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT. COST OF REPAIR IS $3950 AT 77.5K MILES. ON JUNE 30, 2014 WE NOTICED THE AIRBAG LIGHT FLASHING AND BROUGHT THE CAR TO MY REPAIR FACILITY PAYING $99 FOR DIAGNOSIS, WHO SAID THE PASSENGER SEAT WOULD NEED REPLACEMENT AND THEY RECOMMENDED WE WORK WITH NISSAN TO SEE IF THEY WOULD ASSIST THROUGH A RECALL OR OTHER MEANS DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE COST OF THE REPAIR IS HALF THE VALUE OF THE ENTIRE CAR WHICH ONLY HAS 77.5K MILES. I WENT TO ARLINGTON NISSAN AND PAID ANOTHER $120 FOR SAME DIAGNOSIS. I HAD AN OPEN TICKET WITH NISSAN ASKING THEM TO ESCALATE THE SITUATION TO RECEIVE FINANCIAL HELP IN GETTING THIS REPAIR DONE FOR THE SAFETY AND WELL BEING OF MY FAMILY AND KNOWING OTHER CARS HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR THIS VERY SAME ISSUE. ON 7-9-2014 I WAS TOLD BY NISSAN SUPERVISOR (SUE) THE SAME THAT ALL OTHERS HAD TOLD ME, THEY UNFORTUNATELY CAN DO NOTHING TO ASSIST WITH THIS SITUATION EVEN THOUGH THEY EMPATHIZE. I HAVE HAD NUMEROUS REPAIR ISSUES WHEN THE CAR REACHED 5 YEARS AND THE COST OF REPAIRS FOR THIS CAR IS HORRENDOUS. (I.E. HEADLIGHT $200+, DRIVER SEAT $4000, ETC...) I INFORMED THEM THAT I WILL BE FILING A COMPLAINT, I WILL BE TELLING EVERYONE I KNOW MY BAD EXPERIENCES WITH NISSAN, AND THAT I WILL NEVER BE PURCHASING A NISSAN AGAIN. *TR
WHEN I ENTERED THE VEHICLE, THE BRACKET ON THE DRIVER'S SEAT BROKE, CAUSING THE SEAT TO ROCK AND TILT TO THE LEFT. AFTER RESEARCHING THE ISSUE ONLINE, IT APPEARS TO BE A RATHER COMMON OCCURRENCE FOR THIS MODEL YEAR. APPARENTLY NISSAN ISSUED A TSB ON THE PROBLEM, BUT DID NOT ISSUE A RECALL. IF THE DRIVER'S SEAT IS NOT SECURE, HOW EFFECTIVE CAN THE SAFETY BELT BE IN A CRASH? IT IS A REAL DANGER, AND SHOULD BE RECALLED. *TR
KEPT NOTICING SMELL OF BURNING OIL. WAS TOLD THE AXLE SEAL WAS LEAKING. AFTER THE 2ND AXLE SEAL WAS REPLACED, THEY SAID IT WAS A TRANSFER CASE SEAL THAT WAS LEAKING AND I WOULD NEED TO HAVE THAT REPLACED AT APPROXIMATE COST OF $1500. AT THAT TIME I TOLD THE DEALER THAT DURING COLD WEATHER I HAD ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION (WHICH HAS AN EXTENDED WARRANTY TO 120,000), AND I'M SURE THE TRANSMISSION HAS CAUSED THE TRANSFER CASE PROBLEMS, BUT, OF COURSE, UPON THE DEALER TESTING THE TRANSMISSION THEY SAID THAT THE TRANSMISSION IS WORKING FINE. I WAS TOLD THAT THE TRANSFER CASE LEAK WAS NOT SOMETHING THAT HAD TO BE REPAIRED IMMEDIATELY AND THAT AS LONG AS THE FLUID LEVELS WERE CHECKED FREQUENTLY I COULD WAIT TO HAVE IT REPAIRED. YESTERDAY (4 MONTHS LATER) I TOOK THE CAR TO ANOTHER NISSAN DEALER AND I WAS TOLD THAT THE AXLE SEAL AND THE TRANSFER CASE SEAL WERE BOTH LEAKING AND THAT THERE WAS A SERVICE BULLETIN ISSUED DETAILING THAT THE TRANSFER CASE SHOULD BE REBUILT. THE COST NOW WILL BE APPROXIMATELY $1800, TO FIX THE SEALS AND REBUILD THE TRANSFER CASE. AS A RESULT, THE SEAT HAD BECOME UNSTABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE DRIVERS SEAT HINGE AND FRAME NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS TO BE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 71,000.
MY VEHICLE HATCH BACK WILL NOT OPEN UNLESS I USE THE EMERGENCY LOCK WHICH IS LOCATED INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THIS CONCERNS ME BECAUSE IF THERE WAS AN EMERGENCY WHERE I WOULD NEED TO OPEN THE REAR HATCH FROM THE OUTSIDE I WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO. *TR

I WAS DRIVING HOME AND I HEARD A LOUD POP AND MY DRIVERS SIDE SEAT FELL INTO THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR AND I SWERVED INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THANKFULLY, THERE WERE NO CARS THAT WERE CLOSE AND NO ACCIDENT OCCURRED. I CALLED THE DEALER IN MY TOWN AND FOUND OUT IT WAS GOING TO COST $1400.00 TO FIX THE ISSUE. I CALLED SALVAGE YARDS AND COULD ONLY FIND A SEAT IN A TOWN 4 HOURS AWAY SO IT WOULD COST EXTRA TO HAVE THE SEAT SHIPPED HERE ($300.00). IN MY RESEARCH I FOUND OUT IT HAS BEEN A COMMON PROBLEM AND DECIDED TO LOOK TO SEE IF THERE HAD BEEN A RECALL. I READ ALL OF THE COMPLAINTS ON THIS SAME ISSUE AND OTHERS FROM THIS PAGE AND DETERMINED TO TAKE IT TO A LOCAL WELDER AND HAVE THE FRAME WELDED BASED ON THE FACT THAT THE CHAIR WOULD BREAK AGAIN EVEN IF THE PART HAD BEEN REPLACED WITH A NEW OR USED PART. THE GUY AT THE SHOP TOLD ME THAT THE FRAME SUPPORTING THE SEAT WAS PAPER THIN. HE COULD FIX IT AND BEEF IT UP SO THAT THE PROBLEM WOULD NOT HAPPEN AGAIN. IT COST $159.00 TO FIX AND AT THIS TIME IT IS WORKING QUITE WELL. I AM SADDENED TO FIND OUT THAT NISSAN WILL NOT STAND BY THEIR PRODUCT AND FIX THIS ISSUE! I HAVE TOLD EVERYONE I KNOW SO THAT THEY COULD PASS ON THE INFORMATION TO FRIEND'S WHO HAVE NISSAN'S. I AM AFRAID TO CONTINUE TO DRIVE THIS CAR DUE TO THE OTHER ISSUES THESE CARS HAVE BASED ON SOME OF THE COMPLAINTS I HAVE READ ON THIS SITE. *TR
THE DRIVER SIDE VISOR HAS BECOME LOOSE AND WILL FALL WHILE YOU ARE DRIVING. IT HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY. THIS IS UNSAFE FOR DRIVERS TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY. OUR OTHER OPTION IS TO REMOVE IT, THEN YOU RISK THE SUN IN YOUR EYES DRIVING EAST/WEST. DEALERSHIP WANTS TO CHARGE OVER 400.00 TO REPLACE THIS ITEM. IT SHOULD BE VIEWED AS A SAFETY CONCERN. *TR

DIAGNOSED AS TRANSFER CASE SEVERELY CRACKED AT 79000 MILES. 2 NISSAN DEALERS AGREED THIS WAS A DEFECTIVE PART WITH HISTORY OF PROBLEMS, BUT NOT RECALLED, AND ONLY WARRANTEED TO 60,000 MILES. WHILE DRIVING THE DRIVER SEAT REAR SEAT LIFTER BRACKET, PART 87473-CA00A BROKE. THE PART HAS BEEN REDESIGNED AND IS NOW PART 87473CA01A. WHILE THE PART WAS BROKE THE SEAT HAD A LOT OF MOVEMENT AND TILTED TOWARD THE DRIVER DOOR. IT COST $579.48 TO REPAIR. *TR
BROUGHT MY NISSAN MURANO FOR WATER LEAK IN THE BODY SEAL, THE CAR WAS DELIVERED TO ME WITH A BROKEN FRONT DRIVERS SEAT. THE DEALERSHIP DENIES BREAKING IT AND I DIDN'T GIVE IT TO THEM THAT WAY. I AM BEING TOLD IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE YEAR MODEL AND THAT NISSAN IS AWARE AND WILL NOT RECALL. I AM CONSIDERING LEGAL ADVICE. *TR
MY DRIVERS SIDE VISOR HAS STARTED FLOPPING DOWN INTO MY LINE OF VISION. WHETHER IT'S FORWARD TOWARD THE WINDSHIELD OR UP AGAINST THE ROOF'S INTERIOR. IT'S GOTTEN PROGRESSIVELY WORSE AND IS A SERIOUS CONCERN, ESPECIALLY WHEN MY 6'0 HUSBAND IS DRIVING. *TR
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY I NOTICED THE BRAKE WARNING LIGHT AND BATTERY WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. I PROCEEDED TO DRIVE FOR ABOUT 15MINUTES AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE ENGINE CUT OFF AND ALL POWER WAS LOST, NO IGNITION POWER NO POWER STEERING. GOOD THING I WAS NOT IN THE CENTER LANE OR I WOULD HAVE BEEN HIT FROM BEHIND WITH MY CHILD IN THE CAR. I SEE THERE HAS BEEN A SIMILAR RECALL# 36089 ON THE 2004 NISSAN MURANO. THE 2007 NISSAN MURANO SHOULD ALSO BE LOOKED INTO BECAUSE THIS COULD EASILY BECOME A FATALITY ISSUE! *TT
THE OIL PAN IS SO CORRODED THAT THE OIL BLEEDS THROUGH THE BOTTOM OF THE OIL PAN. THERE IS AN ENAMEL OR POWDER TYPE COATING ON THE OIL PAN THAT IS GONE. IT'S ONLY 7 YEARS OLD AND SHOULD NOT HAPPEN WITH THE VEHICLE BEING AS NEW AS IT IS. OIL PAN SHOULD BE A STURDY PART OF YOUR CAR AS IT ON THE BOTTOM OF THE ENGINE AND HOLDS CRITICAL FLUIDS. THIS TYPE OF LEAK COULD BE A FIRE SAFETY ISSUE. *JS

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE REAR EXHAUST MANIFOLD HAD CRACKED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. BRACKET HOLDING SEAT BROKE. I DID NOT LOSE CONTROL OF THE CAR, BUT IT DID STARTLE ME. UPON DOING SOME RESEARCH, THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH 2003-2008 MURANOS AND THE SEAT BRACKET. THE MANUFACTURER HAS THEIR HEAD IN THE SAND ON THIS. THERE WILL BE ACCIDENT / LOSS OF CONTROL AT SOME POINT. *TR
WAS DRIVING ON HIGHWAY WHEN THE DRIVERS SEAT FELL BACK TOWARD DOOR. SEAT WAS NOT STABLE AND ROCKED WHILE DRIVING. BROUGHT CAR IN AND WAS TOLD THE LEFT FRONT SEAT TRACK WAS BROKEN AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *TR
3 YEAR OLD CHILD WAS APPROPRIATELY BUCKLED INTO CAR SEAT IN THE BACK SEAT. SHE MANAGED TO REACH THE SEAT BELT AND PUT IT AROUND HER NECK. HER OLDER BROTHER NOTICED THIS AND STARTED YELLING AT MOTHER WHO WAS DRIVING. MOTHER PULLED OVER AND TRIED TO REMOVE THE SEAT BELT BUT IT HAD LOCKED. MOTHER FLAGGED DOWN PASSERBYS. FORTUNATELY, THIS OCCURRED ON A US MILITARY BASE OVERSEAS WHERE FIRST AID KITS ARE REQUIRED IN ALL VEHICLES INCLUDING TRAUMA SHEARS. THE TRAUMA SHEARS WERE USED TO CUT THE SEAT BELT AWAY FROM HER NECK. THE CHILD DID SUSTAIN BRUISING AND INJURIES TO BOTH THE FRONT AND BACK OF HER NECK, BUT NO LONG TERM PROBLEMS. THIS IS A PHYSICIAN WHO IS FILING THE REPORT AS I EVALUATED THE CHILD FOR HER INJURIES. *TR
