WE OWNS A 2009 NISSAN MURANO. WHILE STARTING THE CAR, WE NOTICED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE FAILED TO DISPLAY AN ACCURATE FUEL LEVEL READING. THE MALFUNCTION OCCURRED WHENEVER THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED OR IN MOTION OR WHEN AC WAS ON PRIOR TO STARTING THE CAR. AFTER THIS ISSUE THE SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT ILLUMINATED ALSO. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO STATED TO US THAT FUEL LEVEL SENSORS WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE AUTHORIZED DEALER MENTIONED OTHER CARS HAVE HAD SAME PROBLEM AND THIS MODEL MIGHT BE COVERED UNDER A RECALL BUT IT WAS NOT BASED ON THE VIN NUMBER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THE DEALER WILL CHARGE $450 TO REPAIR THE ISSUE WHICH IS AN ISSUE FOR OTHER NISSAN CARS. WE ARE PAYING THE DEALER TO FIX THE ISSUE BUT THIS SHOULD NOT BE CHARGED TO CUSTOMER IF THE ISSUE IS WITH OTHER NISSAN CARS. *JB
