RIGHT AT 165000 MILES THE CVT TRANSMISSION WENT OUT. IT STARTED SLIPPING AND WENT COMPLETELY OUT 3 DAYS LATER.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 NISSAN MURANO. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH OVER A SPEED BUMP, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN UNKNOWN DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE ABS ACTUATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
WHILE DRIVING MY MURANO AND APPLYING PRESSURE TO THE BRAKES TO STOP THE VEHICLE, THE BRAKES ARE SPONGY AND WILL GO ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. THIS IS A RANDOM THING THAT HAS HAPPENED, WE HAVE HAD THE BRAKES CHECKED WAS TOLD THERE WAS NO PROBLEM, THERE ARE NO WARNING INDICATORS, I HAVE HAD THIS HAPPEN SEVERAL TIMES IN THE LAST COUPLE OF MONTHS, ONCE WHILE RAINING, ALL OTHER TIMES THE ROADS WERE PERFECTLY FINE, LUCKILY I DO NOT DRIVE FAST OR TO CLOSE TO PEOPLE AS THIS IS A RANDOM THING THAT SEEMS TO HAPPEN. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME ON CITY STREETS AND WHILE TURNING OR PRESSING THE BRAKES TO COME TO A STOP, USUALLY WHEN IT HAPPENS I WILL PUMP THE BRAKE AND IT WILL COME TO A STOP. I SEE THAT THERE ARE SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ON THIS PROBLEM, I THINK IT NEEDS TO BE LOOKED INTO BEFORE SERIOUS ACCIDENTS HAPPEN.
TRANSMISSION FAILURE. BEGAN BY LOSING POWER AT HIGHER RATES OF SPEED OR DURING ACCELERATION. FINALLY GAVE OUT AT A STOP SIGN. COULD NOT ACCELERATE THROUGH THE INTERSECTION. COULD HAVE BEEN A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.
MY SUNROOF JUST SHATTERED, I HAVE NO CLUE AS TO WHAT HAPPEN
DRIVING IN HOT WEATHER MY CAR STALLS. THIS HAPPENED IN APRIL 2017 I WAS TOLD AT THAT TIME IT WAS MY TRANSMISSION BY THE DEALER. I HAD THE TRANSMISSION REPLACED IN NAY 2017. THIS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES PRIOR TO MY TRANSMISSION BEING REPLACED. I GO TO ACCELERATE AND THE CAR STALLS
WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET TOWARD AN INTERSECTION TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN, I RAN OVER A BUMP (MANHOLE COVER/POT HOLE) AND MY BRAKES "WENT SOFT". WHEN I TRIED TO APPLY THE BRAKES, THERE WAS NO PRESSURE (RESISTANCE) AND THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. FORTUNATELY, I WAS DRIVING AT A LOW RATE OF SPEED AND WAS EVENTUALLY ABLE TO STOP AFTER A MUCH LONGER DISTANCE THAN USUAL OR SAFE. (IT WAS LIKE A 'ROLLING STOP'.) I WAS INFORMED BY A SERVICE TECHNICIAN THAT I SHOULD REPLACE THE ABS CONTROL MODULE (VERY EXPENSIVE). FORTUNATELY, I DID NOT COLLIDE WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE OR OBJECT.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE 202 W FREEWAY DIAMOND LANE ON SUNDAY FEB. 19 2017 A LOUD NOISE SOUNDING LIKE A GUN SHOT IN THE VEHICLE SCARED THE HELL OUT OF ME MY WIFE AND SON. THERE WERE NO CARS IN DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF US OR BEHIND OR ON THE SIDE. NOTHING HIT THE CAR. THE SUNROOF EXPLODED. LUCKY NO-ONE WAS BEHIND US SO THE EXPLODING GLASS DID NOT HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE. CALL NISSAN THE NEXT MORNING THEY TOLD ME TO HAVE THE CAR TOED INTO AUTONATION NISSAN TEMPE . AFTER 2 DAYS I CALL TO FIND OUT WHEN THE AUTO WOULD BE REPAIRED AND THEY TOLD ME TO COME AND GET THE CAR BECAUSE THEY WERE NOT GOING TO REPAIR IT. I THEN BROUGHT IT TO A AUTO GLASS REPAIR SHOP AND THEY REPAIRED THE CAR. NISSAN CORPORATION CALLED ME AND ASKED ME QUESTIONS BUT WOULD NOT ANSWER ANY OF MY QUESTIONS AND DID NOTHING TO REPAIR THERE FAULTY SUNROOF GLASS.
ON 12/15/16 I WAS DRIVING MY 2011 NISSAN MURANO AWD AND WHEN BRAKING FOR A LEFT TURN LANE ON A LOCAL STREET (GOING ABOUT 30 MPH) THE BRAKE PEDAL ALL OF A SUDDEN HAD NO PRESSURE & WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. I COULD NOT STOP THE CAR & I HAD TO VEER TO THE RIGHT TO AVOID HITTING A CAR IN FRONT OF ME. TOWED THE CAR TO THE NISSAN DEALER THE NEXT DAY, 12/16/16, & THEY SAID IT WAS THE MASTER BRAKE CYLINDER. THEY REPLACED THE MASTER BRAKE CYLINDER FOR ABOUT $700 & IT WAS WORKING NORMALLY EXCEPT FOR A SLIGHT WHIRRING SOUND. ON 2/6/17, APPROXIMATELY A MONTH AND A HALF LATER. I WAS ENTERING A FREEWAY ON RAMP (CURVING TYPE OF ON RAMP APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH) AND THE BRAKES WENT TO THE FLOOR AGAIN WITH NO PRESSURE. I HAD TO SHARPLY TURN TO THE RIGHT TO AVOID HITTING THE CAR IN FRONT AND COAST TO A STOP. TOOK THE CAR TO THE SAME DEALER AND THEY SAID THE PROBLEM WAS NOW WORN FRONT BRAKES $400. THEN THEY CALLED A LITTLE LATER AND CHANGED THEIR DIAGNOSIS AND SAID THE ISSUE WAS NOW THE ABS ACTUATOR, $1900. DID SOME RESEARCH ONLINE AND FOUND THAT NISSAN HAS A RECALL FOR CERTAIN YEAR MURANO ABS ACTUATORS. I BELIEVE THEY SHOULD EXPAND THE RECALL BECAUSE IT SEEMS TO BE AFFECTING MY 2011 MURANO AND I HAVE READ MANY 2009 MURANO OWNERS EXPERIENCING MANY OF THE SAME ISSUES I AM. INTERESTINGLY BOTH TIMES THE BRAKES FAILED WERE ON VERY RAINY DAYS. I THINK THIS ISSUE SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BEFORE A BAD ACCIDENT OCCURS WHERE THERE COULD BE A FATALITY.
CAR HAS ONLY 43000 MILES ON IT AND THE VALVE BODY ASSEMBLY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. I GOT A PRICE OF ALMOST $1,700 FOR THIS REPAIR AND APPARENTLY IT IS A VERY COMMON ISSUE WITH THESE CARS.
THE PEDAL LOSES PRESSURE WHEN BRAKING THE CAR AND REACHES THE FLOOR. THE SUV HAVE APROX. 72,000 MILES
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND CAUSED THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM TO FAIL. WHEN THE PASSENGER SEAT WAS OCCUPIED, THE AIR BAG SYSTEM WOULD DEACTIVATE. THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V244000 (AIR BAGS). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,202.
TOOK MURANO TO MECHANIC BECAUSE WAS HAVING PROBLEMS WITH BRAKING, MECHANIC HAD BRAKE SERVICED AND MADE NEW. NOW CAR IS NOT WANTING TO STOP EVEN WHEN PUMPIN BRAKES. TOOK BACK AND WAS TOLD BY MECHANIC AT SHAMROCK THAT I NEED NEW ABS HYDROLIC BREAK SYSTEM
THE CONVERTIBLE TOP MALFUNCTIONED AND WAS UNABLE TO COMPLETELY CLOSE, SO IT WOULD LIFT AND FLY OFF WHEN MY CAR WAS IN MOTION. HAD TO MANUALLY LOCK BACK IN PLACE HOWEVER THE ROOF ERROR SIGNAL KEPT CONSISTENTLY BEEPING SINCE IT THOUGHT THE ROOF WAS STILL DOWN. HAD TO DISCONNECT WIRING TO BE ABLE TO USE CAR. NOW A FEW OTHER THINGS DON'T WORK PROPERLY BECAUSE OF THE WIRING THAT HAS BEEN DISCONNECTED AS A QUICK FIX TO THE PROBLEM.
I WAS DRIVING UP RT 33 GOING NORTH TOWARD RIDGEFIELD AND THERE WERE FALLEN/CUT BRANCHES ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD (ACROSS THE STREET FROM LINDEN TREE) THAT WERE STICKING OUT, AND SCRATCHED THE FULL LENGTH OF THE RIGHT SIDE OF MY CAR. THEY APPEARED TO HAVE BEEN PUSHED TO THE SIDE, BUT NOT ENOUGH TO AVOID BRUSHING A CAR. I HAVE A BLACK CAR AND ONE MARK IN PARTICULAR RUNS THE FULL LENGTH OF THE CAR. I TOOK IT TO A CAR WASH THIS MORNING HOPING IT WOULD WASH OFF, BUT IT IS A SCRATCH. I SPOKE TO GAYLAN IN NEW CANAAN WHO SUGGESTED I FILE THE CLAIM HERE. I AM NOT SURE IF THIS IS THE RIGHT SECTION. I TRIED TO TAKE PHOTOS BUT DUE TO GLARE AND THE THIN LINE AGAINST A BIG BLACK SPACE, YOU CANNOT TELL FROM A PHOTO. I AM HAPPY TO BRING THE CAR FOR FIRSTHAND INSPECTION. I AM VERY UPSET AS I WENT TO THE AREA TODAY AND THERE IS AN ORANGE CONE NEXT TO THE BRUSH TO ALERT PEOPLE, BUT I DID NOT SEE THE CONE AS IT WAS TUCKED BEHIND SOME OF THE LEAVES. PLEASE ADVISE AS THIS CAR IS STILL PRETTY NEW AND THESE SCRATCHES ARE IMPOSSIBLE TO GET OUT AND HAVE DAMAGED THE PAINT SURFACE ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF MY CAR.
MY WIFE'S NISSAN MURANO HAD BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE BRAKES GOING ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE FLOOR. I TOOK IT IN TO NISSAN DEALERSHIP TO GET CHECKED OUT FINALLY THE GUY THERE TOLD ME THAT THE BRAKES DIDN'T ACT UP ON THEM SO THEY CAN'T DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM AND THAT SO FAR EVERYTHING LOOKS GOOD. I LEFT THINKING MAYBE IT WAS JUST THE BRAKES GETTING WORN OUT. ABOUT FIVE MONTHS LATER IT HAPPENED AGAIN WHILE SHE WAS DRIVING HOME. SHE SAID SHE WAS GOING 40 AND SHE SUDDENLY HAD NO BRAKES HAVING TO PUT HER VEHICLE ON PARK SO SHE WOULDN'T HIT THE VEHICLE INFRONT OF HER FINALLY SHE HAD NO BRAKES AND HAD TO MOVE HER CAR USING THE EMERGENCY BRAKE ON AND OFF UNTILL SHE REACHED A SHOPPING CENTER AHEAD. I WENT TO PICK THE TRUCK UP AND THE BRAKES WERE WORKING FINE AGAIN. THEN I CALLED NISSAN EXPLAINED WHAT HAPPENED AND THEY TOLD ME THEY HAD NO RECORD OF THEM EVER TAKING A LOOK AT THE TRUCK. AND THAT MY FACTORY WARRANTY HAS FINALLY EXPIRED SO THE MASTER CYLINDER ISN'T COVERED WHICH IS WHAT'S WRONG WITH THE BRAKES SUPPOSIVELY. I'M AWARE THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER COMPLETELY STOPS WORKING WHEN IT GOES BAD BUT FOR IT TO WORK AND SOMETIMES NOT WORK SOUNDS VERY STRANGE. I HAVE READ ONLINE THAT MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE AND THY SAY IT STARTS NOT WORKING SIX MONTHS AFTER CHANGING THEMASTER CYLINDER. I CALLED NISSAN FOR RECALLS BUT THEY DON'T HAVE ANYTHING FOR THIS VEHICLE. I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW SO MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AND NISSAN HASN'T LOOKED INTO ADDRESSING THE PROBLEM. WE NEED SOMETHING DONE ABOUT THIS BECAUSE THEY CHARGE ME 900$ PLUS TO REPLACE WHEN I HAD OBVIOUSLY TOLD THEM THE VEHICLE WAS ACTING UP DURING THE TIME OF MY WARRANTY.
WHEN I START TO ACCELERATE AFTER A STOP LIGHT OR STOP SIGN, MY CAR WILL HESITATE TO ACCEPT THE GAS AND SEEMS AS IF IT'S GOING TO QUIT, HOWEVER, INADVERTENTLY IT FINALLY CATCHES UP AND WILL START TO ACCELERATE. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN JUNE OF 2016. IT SEEMS AS IF IT IS MORE OFTEN LATELY. THIS HAPPENS OFTEN AND IS DANGEROUS GOING THROUGH AN INTERSECTION. ALSO, THIS MAKES ME UNEASY BECAUSE ANYONE BEHIND ME COULD POSSIBLY RUN INTO THE BACK OF MY CAR.
THE VEHICLE LOST POWER WHILE THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC LOT AND THEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 NISSAN MURANO. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER WHILE THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT COASTED THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC LOT AND THEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 53,000.
WHILE EXITING A PARKING SPACE AT A LOW SPEED (LESS THAN 10 MPH) THE CAR UNEXPECTEDLY ACCELERATED TO FULL THROTTLE. BRAKING WOULD NOT HOLD IT AND MY CAR RAN INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE AFTER TRAVELING 5-15 YARDS, PUSHING IT UP ON A SIDEWALK BEFORE STOPPING. BOTH CARS TOTAL LOSS DUE TO BENT FRAME/RAILS. MY FRONT END DEMOLISHED AND RADIATOR PUSHED INTO ENGINE BUT NO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. AFTER THE INCIDENT IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT MY ACCELERATOR PEDAL HAD SNAPPED OFF.
MY DOOR LOCKS BEGAN TO FAIL INTERMITTENTLY WHEN I TRY TO ENTER OR EXIT THE VEHICLE. ON 2/13/16 I GOT INTO THE VEHICLE LATE AT NIGHT, CRANKED IT, PUT IT IN DRIVE, AND BEGAN TO PULL OFF WHEN THE VEHICLE TOTALLY SHUT DOWN AND WOULD NOT CRANK(LEAVING ME STRANDED, AT NIGHT, IN FREEZING WRATHER). THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT RESTART. IT WOULD ONLY CLICK....THEN EVENTUALLY DO NOTHING. LATER THAT EVENING WE ATTEMPTED AGAIN. IT WOULD NOT START UNTIL WE HIT THE LOCK BUTTON ON THE REMOTE.(BATTERY PREVIOUSLY REPLACED). THIS IS CLEARLY A DEFECT WITH NISSANS AS SEEN ON MANY COMPLAINT FORUMS. ALL 4 ACTUATORS FAILING ARE RIDICULOUS. I WAS TOLD BY A MECHANIC (NOT ASSOCIATED WITH NISSAN BUT HAS HAD TO WORK MANY OF THE SAME ISSUES WITH THEIR VEHICLES) THAT IT IS A SECURITY SYSTEM ISSUE AND THE VEHICLE ACTUALLY THINKS YOU ARE STEALING IT SO IT SHUTS DOWN. HOPEFULLY, IT WON'T THINK THAT WHILE I AM TRAVELING ON THE INTERSTATE. PLEASE INVESTIGATE. THE NEXT DAY, IT WOULDN'T START. *TR
LESS THAN 100,000 MILES ON THE CAR, 4 ENGINE MOUNTS ARE CRACKED, NEVER OFF ROAD, USED FOR COMMUTING AND TRAVEL ON HIGHWAYS. ON CHAT BOARD FOR MURANO OWNERS, FOUND SEVERAL OTHER INSTANCES OF CRACKED MOTOR MOUNTS, HAPPENING AS EARLY AS APPROXIMATELY 30,000 MILES. NOT SURE OF DATE OCCURRING BUT TOLD AT OIL CHANGE SERVICE NISSAN OF BAKERSFIELD ABOUT ENGINE MOUNT PROBLEM, I THINK ON 12/22/15. *JS
STARTED GOING 70-60 MPH ON FREEWAY AND CAR SUDDENLY STOPPED ACCELERATING CAUSING ME TO MOVE QUICKLY TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE FREEWAY. I THINK IT MAY BE THE ALTERNATOR, NOT SURE YET
2011 NISSAN. CONSUMER STATES THAT THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY DURING VEHICLE ACCIDENT . *LD *JS *TT *DT AIR BAG SYSTEM COMPONENTS ( THE CURTAIN/ HEAD AIR BAGS AND THE SEAT BELT PRETENSIONERS) WERE ALSO REPLACED. UPDATED 10/3/18*JB *DT CONSUMER STATED CAR WAS BROUGHT NEW ONLY HAD 7,000 MILES. AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY AND CONSUMER'S HUSBAND WENT INTO THE FRONT WINDOW CRUSHED HIS FORHEAD HIS BRAIN BLEEDING. HE ALSO BROKE HIS HIP AND SMASHED HIS KNEE. HE WAS UNCONCIOUS AND DIED 2 YEARS LATER. REPAIR WAS OVER $16,000.*JB
I BEGAN EXPERIENCING A LOSS OF MOTION WHILE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE. ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS, WHILE ON THE ROAD AND MOVING THE VEHICLE LOST ABILITY TO MOVE. AT ONE POINT I WAS LIMITED TO UNSAFE DRIVING SPEEDS OF LESS THAN 15 MILES PER HOUR. ALL OCCURRENCES OF LOSS OF MOTION OCCURRED ON CITY STREETS WHERE POSTED SPEED LIMITS WERE 45 MPH OR LESS. THE LAST OCCURRENCE WAS IN MY DRIVEWAY WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. I HAD TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED FOR SERVICE AT WHICH TIME IT WAS DETERMINED THE TRANSMISSION WAS IN NEED OF REPLACEMENT. AT 60,000 MILES THE TRANSMISSION ON THIS VEHICLE WAS AT FULL FAILURE AND FULL REPLACEMENT WAS NECESSARY. ALL RECOMMENDED MAINTENANCE WAS COMPLETED ON THIS VEHICLE AND IT WAS NOT USED FOR TOWING PURPOSES.
ALL 4 OF MY DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS HAVE GONE OUT AT THE SAME TIME.
TRANSMISSION SLIPS OR SHIFTS HARD INTO GEARS. TRANSMISSION HAS ALSO JUST STOPPED WORKING IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. GETS WORSE THE WARMER IT IS. SLOWER SPEEDS HAVE THE HARD SHIFTING AND HIGHER SPEEDS IT OFTEN WONT SHIFT TO THE NEXT HIGHER GEAR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 NISSAN MURANO. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED BUT FAILED TO RESPOND. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHERE THE TECHNICIAN CONFIRMED THE FAILURE BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,000.
WHILE DRIVING MY NISSAN MURANO 2011, THE CAR LOST ITS BRAKES WHILE DRIVING ON THE ROAD. I STARTED PUMPING THE BRAKES UNTIL THEY STARTED WORKING, BUT DEFECTIVE. I WENT TO NISSAN CENTER AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY HAD TO CHANGE THE MASTER CYLINDER AND HE WASN'T SURPRISED. TOLD ME THAT THIS WAS NOT THEIR FIRST CASE, BUT THERE WERE NO RECALLS, SO I HAVE TO PAY $600 FOR A NEW MASTER CYLINDER. *TR
2011 NISSAN MURANO WITH 66,000 MILES FAILED WHILE DRIVING IN FREEWAY TRAFFIC, IN A CONSTRUCTION ZONE, ON 2/12/2015. THE MODEL IS EQUIPPED WITH CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (CVT). NISSAN WRITTEN POWERTRAIN COVERAGE PERIOD ON 2011 MODELS IS "60 MONTHS OR 60,000 MILES, WHICHEVER COMES FIRST." NISSAN NOTIFIED US, THE OWNERS OF THE MURANO, THAT THE PARTS AND LABOR WERE NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY. NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS DID NOT HELP. NISSAN VICE PRESIDENT TOTAL CUSTOMER SATISFACTION, [XXX], PREVIOUSLY ISSUED A CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (CVT) WARRANTY EXTENSION FOR MODEL YEARS 2003-2010 WHICH COVERED REPAIRS, REPLACEMENT, AND RELATED TOWING EXPENSES. SINCE THE 2011 MODEL IS EQUIPPED WITH CVT (SAME TRANSMISSION AS 2003-2010 MODELS COVERED BY EXTENDED WARRANTY), IT NEEDS TO BE COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY EXTENSION. NISSAN CORPORATION KNEW OF THE CVT PROBLEM, WHICH WAS THE REASON FOR THE CVT WARRANTY EXTENSION BETWEEN THE YEARS OF 2007 AND 2010. THE COMPANY HAS NOT ADEQUATELY MODIFIED THE PART AND HAS NOT ADEQUATELY MODIFIED THE WARRANTY TO MEET THE NEEDS OF THE CONSUMER. THE CVT FAILURE PUT OUR SAFETY IN JEOPARDY, CAUSED US TO MISS WORK, AND COST NEARLY $4,000, WHICH PUT US INTO SEVERE FINANCIAL DURESS. WITH NISSAN\'S AWARENESS OF THE NISSAN CVT FAILURE PROBLEMS, THE CVT SHOULD HAVE BEEN REMEDIED BEFORE THE POINT WE BOUGHT THE VEHICLE OR SHOULD HAVE, AT LEAST, BEEN COVERED BY WARRANTY. WE WERE NEVER ASKED IF WE WANTED OUR OLD TRANSMISSION BACK AND WERE NEVER GIVEN THE SERIAL NUMBERS. WHEN WE CALLED AND INQUIRED, WE WERE TOLD THAT IT HAD BEEN SHIPPED "BACK TO NISSAN" WITHIN 5 BUSINESS DAYS AND THAT THERE WAS NO WAY WE COULD GET IT BACK OR CALL TO GET THE IDENTIFYING INFORMATION. DRIVER'S SIDE SUN VISOR DOES NOT REMAIN IN THE UP POSITION DROOPS DOWN WHEN DRIVING OVER SMALL BUMPS, IMPAIRING DRIVER VISIBILITY. THIS HAPPENS WHEN DRIVING BUT IS GETTING WORSE AND SOON I ANTICIPATE THE VISOR WILL NOT STAY IN THE UP POSITION WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY.
SUNROOF OF MY 2011 NISSAN MURANO EXPLODED SUDDENLY WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY ON A CLEAR DAY AND NO OTHER CARS IN THE AREA. THE MALFUNCTION OF THE SUNROOF EXPLODING CAUSED THE CENTER OF THE SUNROOF GLASS TO PROTRUDE OUTWARD INTO A DOME SHAPE WHILE GLASS PIECES SHATTERED INTO THE CABIN OF THE MURANO. UPON CONTACTING THE NISSAN DEALER, THEY REFERRED ME TO THE NATIONAL NISSAN CUSTOMER SERVICE NUMBER, BUT AFTER 4 DAYS I AM STILL WAITING ON A CALL BACK FROM THE REGIONAL NISSAN OFFICE. I HAVE NOTICED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS THIS SUMMER, A CRACKLING SOUND IN LOWER PORTION OF THE FRONT WINDSHIELD. I ACTUALLY REMEMBER HEARING IT LAST SUMMER BUT IT IS NOW MORE AUDIBLE. THE WARM WEATHER MUST BE A FACTOR. I HAVE ALSO EXPERIENCED PROBLEMS WITH MY KEYLESS FOB, IT DOES NOT ALWAYS WORK AND MY IGNITION AN REAR LIFT GATE SOMETIMES WILL OPERATE EVEN WHEN THE FOB IS WITHIN 3 FEET. WE WERE DRIVING AT 35 MILES/HR WITH 3 YEARS OLD DAUGHTER IN THE CAR SEAT IN THE BACK. SUDDENLY THE ROOF JUST EXPLODED. WE HAD THE INSIDE COVER OF THE SUNROOF OPEN AND THE DEBRIS FROM THE ROOF EXPLOSION FLEW IN OUR DAUGHTER FACE. A BLACK CAMERO, PROCEEDING NORTH ON JEFFERSON ST NE, RAN A STOP SIGN, SPED INTO THE INTERSECTION AND COLLIDED WITH THE FRONT OF MY 2011 NISSAN MURANO. I PARKED THE MURANO IN THE GARAGE AND CLOSED THE GARAGE DOOR THEN WENT INSIDE THE HOUSE. ABOUT 30 MINUTES LATER I HEARD A MUFFLED BOOM SOUND.
