MY WIFE WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE DOWN THE HIGHWAY WITH NO ONE AROUND WHEN THE SUNROOF SPONTANEOUSLY EXPLODED WITHOUT WARNING. SHE IMMEDIATELY TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND TOOK PHOTOS. YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE THAT THE SUNROOF GLASS EXPLODED UP AND OUTWARD - NOT INDICATIVE OF AN OBJECT HITTING THE SUNROOF CAUSING IT TO EXPLODE. MY ONE YEAR OLD SON WAS ALSO IN THE VEHICLE AT THE TIME IT EXPLODED. LUCKILY, THE SHADE WAS CLOSED BECAUSE HE HAD TAKEN A NAP EARLIER THAT DAY. HOWEVER, IF THE SHADED WASN'T CLOSED, MY WIFE AND SON WOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED IN GLASS. ALSO, THE EXPLOSION WAS SO LOUD AND STARTLING, SHE NEARLY WRECKED. WE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE SAME DEALERSHIP WE BOUGHT IT AND PURCHASED THE EXTENDED WARRANTY FROM BUT THEY ARE STILL REFUSING TO PAY FOR IT.
CAR WILL HARD START, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON. DRIVE FINE BUT AFTER STOPPING OR SLOWING DOWN, TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT COMES ON AND RPMS WILL NOT GO OVER 3000. CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE AND HAVE TO PULL OVER, TURN OFF AND RESTART.
My transmission is on recall the CVT transmission is malfunctioning The transmission flutters and shudders loses power in slow motion when starting to pull off from lights or going up heels, there’s a slipping, feel to the transmission very unsafe to drive during wet, rainy days and snowy days some days absolute power loss this has been a problem since I purchased a vehicle in 2021 until current and it’s getting worse every day I was told about a Nissan Dealership this is just how the transmission shift. I know this information is incorrect because it’s very unsafe to drive.
THE FORWARD COLLISION STOPS WORKING AFTER DRIVING THE CAR ONLY A COUPLE OF MILES... HAVE TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID IT WAS BECAUSE OF LOW VOLTAGE FROM THE BATTERY... REPLACED THE BATTERY AND THE PROBLEM STILL HAS HAPPENED.. IT ONLY RESETS AFTER THE CAR HAS BEEN TURNED OFF AND BACK ON AGAIN BUT THE INDICATOR LIGHT COMES ON AGAIN AFTER DRIVING A COUPLE MILES AGAIN
VEHICLE INFREQUENTLY SURGES WHEN INITIALLY PRESSING DOWN ON THE GAS PEDAL. ALSO IT HAPPENS WHEN DRIVING AND PULLING UP BEHIND VEHICLES AT STOP SIGNS OR TRAFFIC LIGHTS. IT CAUSED AN ACCIDENT WHEN TRYING TO PARK IN A TIGHT SPOT. SURGE WHEN TRYING TO EASE FORWARD CAUSED VEHICLE TO RUN ONTO STONE WALL. NOT AN ACCIDENT INVOLVING AN PERSONAL INJURY BUT POTENTIAL IS THERE FOR A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. UNRELIABLE ACCELERATION IS A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS ISSUE. A SECOND OCCASION WAS IN TRAFFIC AFTER MERGING OFF A FREEWAY. SEVERAL CARS WERE WAITING AT STOP SIGN. AS EACH PULLED OUT WE ALL EASED UP. WHEN I TRIED TO EASE UP IT SURGED ON ME AND ALMOST PUT ME INTO REAR OF CAR IN FRONT OF ME.
UNAVAILABLE FRONT RADAR OBSTRUCTION LIGHT COMES ON AND STAYS ON AFTER DRIVING. PROBLEM OCCURS EVERY TIME I DRIVE MORE THAN A SHORT DISTANCE. LIGHT IS NEVER ON WHEN I START THE CAR.
THE RECALL SERVICE WAS PERFORMED AS PROMISED. I DO HAVE TO ADD THOUGH THAT SHORTLY AFTER HAVING PICKED THE CAR UP, THE AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING WARNING LIGHT STARTED TO GO OFF OCCASIONALLY AFTER NORMALLY APPLYING THE BRAKES. THEN THE LIGHT WOULD GO ON AT RANDOM TIMES WITHOUT HAVING APPLIED THE BRAKES. I RETURNED THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY MENTIONED THAT IT WAS PROBABLY A COINCIDENT THAT THIS HAPPENED. I THOUGHT THAT THIS WAS SUSPECT THOUGH AS I NEVER HAD ANY ISSUES WITH THE LIGHT AND THE SYSTEM PRIOR TO BRINGING THE CAR IN FOR THE ABS MODULE RECALL. I STILL FEEL THAT SOMETHING WAS TWEAKED OR THE SYSTEM'S FAILURE WAS EXACERBATED BY HAVING HAD WORK PERFORMED ON IT, DESPITE THE ABS MODULE BEING LOCATED ON THE FIREWALL AND THE AEB SENSOR LOCATED IN THE FRONT GRILL. I ALSO HAVE SEEN ON THE INTERNET THAT 2015,2016,2017 AND 2018 MODEL YEAR ROGUES,ROGUE SPORT, MURANOS, ALTIMAS, MAXIMAS, LEAFS, SENTRAS, ARMADA'S AND PATHFINDERS HAVE ALL BEEN IMPACTED BY AEB ISSUES. THE MOST DANGEROUS, WHEN THE VEHICLE GOES INTO AEB MODE FOR NO REASON AND APPLIES THE BRAKES. THERE IS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT IN PROCESS NOW AND SOME TSB'S THAT YOU HAVE ISSUED FOR FIXES. I HAVE OWNED OR OWN 4 NISSANS SINCE 2010...A 2010 NISSAN SENTRA WHICH WAS RECENTLY REPLACED BY A 2019 NISSAN SENTRA AND MY 2015 MURANO WHICH REPLACED MY 2011 INFINIT G7XS. I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY MAJOR SERVICE ISSUES WITH ANY OF THEM WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THIS MOST RECENT $1006.62 REPAIR WHICH THE DEALER SAID WOULD NOT BE COVERED AS IT WAS INCIDENTAL TO THE RECALL REPAIR. I FEEL THE ONUS IS ON NISSAN TO REIMBURSE ME FOR THIS REPAIR AS THERE IS ENDLESS PROOF ON THE INTERNET THAT THIS FEATURE HAS AND WILL CONTINUE TO CAUSE PROBLEMS FOR THE ABOVE VEHICLES IT WAS INSTALLED ON. FOR THE SECOND TIME MY FRONT COLLISION BRAKING SYSTEM SENSOR HAS COME ON AND DISENGAGED MY CRUISE CONTROL WHILE I HAVE BEEN TRAVELING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED ON THE HIGHWAY. DEALERSHIP HAS CONFIRMED THIS CODE WHEN TAKEN INTO SHOP. THIS COULD CAUSE THE CAR TO BRAKE SUDDENLY WHILE DRIVING. NISSAN HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL. I HAVE BEEN QUOTED OVER $1200.00 TO FIX. THIS HAS BEEN REPORTED ON MANY OCCASIONS. WHY HASN'T A RECALL BEEN ISSUED? I AM NOW AFRAID TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE WITH THIS FAULTY SENSOR.
THE EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM SHUTS OFF WITH NO WARNING AND IN TURN DEACTIVATES THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES AND THE LAST OCCURRENCE HAPPENED ON A TWO LANE HIGHWAY IN CLEAR WEATHER CONDITIONS WITH AN 18-WHEELER FOLLOWING IN CLOSE PROXIMITY. WHEN I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO THE MECHANIC AT THE DEALERSHIP, THE CODE SHOWED THAT THE DISTANCE SENSOR 'MUST BE REPLACED' BECAUSE IT WAS OUT-OF-DATE. WHEN I ASKED THE MANUFACTURER OF THE CAR TO PAY FOR THE REPLACEMENT, THEY REFUSED. I HAVE DEALT WITH FOUR PEOPLE AT THE CORPORATE OFFICE AND THEY REFUSE TO PAY THE $1400 TO REPLACE THE FAULTY FACTORY ORIGINAL PART. ALSO NOTE, I HAVE REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION TWO TIMES IN 9 MONTHS ON THIS VEHICLE AND THOSE WERE COVERED UNDER THE CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED WARRANTY. I AM BEGINNING TO SUSPECT I HAVE A LEMON.
I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE FROM THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALER IN OCTOBER 2019. SINCE THEN, THE FORWARD EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM CONTINUALLY TURNS OFF WITHIN JUST A FEW MILES OF DRIVING THE CAR. THIS ALSO SHUTS DOWN THE CRUISE CONTROL TO THE VEHICLE. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES WHERE I HAD TO PAY FOR THEM TO REPLACE THE RADAR SENSOR THAT CONTROLS THE SYSTEM. IT DID NOT HELP AND THE PROBLEM OCCURS STILL EVERY SINGLE TIME I DRIVE THE VEHICLE. THE ONLY WAY TO RE-ENGAGE THE SYSTEM IS TO STOP THE VEHICLE AND TURN OFF THE ENGINE AND THEN START THE VEHICLE BACK UP. THIS IS THE SAME SYSTEM THAT HAS CAUSED NUMEROUS PROBLEMS WITH THE NISSAN ROGUE. THE QUESTION BELOW IS NOT FOR WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN, IT IS MORE OF A CASE OF WHEN HASN'T THIS HAPPENED? THIS VEHICLE IS AN ABSOLUTE LEMON AND SHOULD NOT BE AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC.
CVT REPLACEMENT REQUIRED AT 75K
AFTER HAVING THE ANTI LOCK BRAKE RECALL REMEDIED I NOTICED A WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AS I WAS DRIVING HOME THAT HAD NEVER OCCURRED BEFORE. IT WAS THE AEB (AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING) LIGHT. I WAS DRIVING STRAIGHT ON A HIGHWAY AND THERE WERE NO CARS OR OTHER IMPEDIMENTS AHEAD OF ME. THERE WAS NO REASON FOR THE LIGHT TO ILLUMINATE.I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AS SOON AS I GOT HOME. THEY TOLD ME I NEEDED TO BRING THE CAR BACK IN AGAIN. I DID. THEY DID A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND TOLD ME THE AEB SENSOR WAS DEFECTIVE. BECAUSE I HAD PURCHASED THE GOLD WARRANTY WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR NEW 5 YEARS AGO, I WOULD ONLY HAVE TO PAY THE DEDUCTIBLE AND NOT THE FULL PRICE FOR THE REPLACEMENT WHICH WOULD NORMALLY RUN APPROXIMATELY $1000.00. I MADE THE APPOINTMENT. AFTER THE SENSOR WAS REPLACED, AND ON MY WAY HOME THE SAME AEB LIGHT CAME ON. AGAIN, I WAS DRIVING ON STRAIGHT WITH NO CAR OR OTHER IMPEDIMENT IN FRONT OF ME. I WAS ON A HIGHWAY. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AS SOON AS I GOT HOME. I NOW HAVE ANOTHER APPOINTMENT FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. I DECIDED TO RESEARCH THE PROBLEM. I FOUND OUT THAT MANY NISSAN VEHICLES ARE HAVING SIMILAR PROBLEMS AND YOU HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED OF THIS. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THERE HASN'T BEEN A RECALL. AS YOU KNOW, IF THE AEB ISN'T WORKING NEITHER IS YOUR CRUISE CONTROL WHICH I USE FOR LONG DISTANCE DRIVING. SCARINGLY I HEARD OF SOME WHO'S CAR STOPPED AS THEY WERE DRIVING ON AN EXPRESSWAY. I DRIVE EXPRESSWAYS FOR WORK AND TO SEE MY CHILDREN. I WOULD BE DEAD IF I HAD THAT PROBLEM ON THE BUSY EXPRESSWAYS I TRAVEL. THIS PROBLEM IS SERIOUS AND SHOULD BE ADDRESSED. I URGE YOU TO CONTACT NISSAN TO HAVE A RECALL. I'M NOT SURE IF THIS NEXT APPOINTMENT WILL RECTIFY THE PROBLEM OR NOT. I'M VERY UPSET THAT I'VE SPENT AT LEAST 12 HOURS AT THE DEALERSHIP DEALING WITH THE RECALL AND NOW THIS ISSUE. I WOULD LIKE YOU TO FOLLOW UP WITH ME REGARDING THIS COMPLAINT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED. ADDITIONALLY, THERE WAS OIL LEAKING FROM ENGINE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNDISCLOSED SPEED, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND WAS TOWED TO THE LOCAL DEALER JEFF SCHMITT NISSAN LOCATED AT 725 ALPHA RD, BEAVERCREEK, OH 45434 WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION, ENGINE AND CATALYTIC CONVERTER WERE FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE ENGINE, TRANSMISSION AND CATALYTIC CONVERTER WERE REPLACED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED APPROXIMATELY 3,000 MILES LATER. THE ENGINE WAS REPLACED A SECOND TIME. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,000.
NORMAL DRIVING AT ANY SPEED AT ANY TIME A WARNING WILL BEEP AND SHOW THE COLLISION LIGHT AND A DISPLAY WILL READ "UNAVAILABLE FRONT RADAR OBSTRUCTION" IT HAPPENS AS EARLY AS A FEW HUNDRED FEET OF DRIVING UP TO A FEW MILES. WHEN THIS HAPPENS THE CRUISE CONTROL WILL DISENGUAGE WHILE DRIVING OR NOT WORK AT ALL AND THE DISTANCE SENSOR QUITS MAKING THE CAR NOT SLOW DOWN BEHIND OTHER VEHICLES. THE CAR WILL JUST START SLOWING DOWN ON THE INTERSTATE WHEN THIS WARNING ACTIVATES FOR NO REASON IF THE CRUISE IS ON AND BEING USED.
AS I'M DRIVING DOWN THE FREEWAY WITH MY CRUISE CONTROL ON, A FRONT COLLISION WARNING INDICATOR ON THE DASHBOARD WILL APPEAR WHICH CAUSES THE CRUISE CONTROL TO TURN OFF RESULTING IN BRAKING/SLOWING ON THE FREEWAY UNEXPECTEDLY. THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE AND IS A CONCERN FOR ME AND MY FAMILY'S SAFETY AS WE ARE OUT DRIVING ON THE ROADS. WHEN IT HAPPENS, THERE IS NOTHING ON THE ROAD OR OBSTRUCTING THE SENSOR FROM PERFORMING ITS TASK. *TR
THE LIFTGATE WON'T OPEN EITHER WITH THE KEY FOB OR MANNUALY EVERY TIME I HAVE TO UNHOOK THE BATTERY TO RESET VEHICLE WAS NOT IN MOTION, OPENING THE HOOD EVERY TIME THIS HAPPENS TO RESET THE LIFTGATE IS NOT IDEAL
THERE IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE TRANSFER CASES OF THESE CARS (SEE SERVICE BULLETIN NTB17-003). THE AXLE SEALS ON MY CAR ARE LEAKING AND CAN CAUSE DANGEROUS RESULTS FOR ANYONE OPERATING THE CAR. NISSAN NEEDS TO RECALL AND FIX THIS KNOWN ISSUE IMMEDIATELY. *TR

THIS IS THE 2ND TIME THAT THE TAILGATE LIFT WILL NOT LIFT AND I CANT RESET IT AND IF YOU GOOGLED THIS NUMEROUS PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME ISSUE OVER AND OVER AGAIN
THE FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE LIGHT FREQUENTLY COMES ON WHEN I START MY CAR. SOMETIMES RESTARTING THE CAR WILL MAKE IT GO OFF. WHEN THE LIGHT IS ON, ALL MY CAMERAS, CRUISE CONTROL & SIDE SENSOR LIGHTS DO NOT FUNCTION. MY BIGGEST FEAR IS THAT THE CAR WILL STOP ITSELF IN TRAFFIC. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS CAR. I TOOK IT TO MY DEALERSHIP. THEY PUT IN A NEW SENSOR ($1300). THE LIGHT WAS BACK ON THE NEXT DAY. ANOTHER SENSOR WAS PUT IN. AFTER A MONTH, THE LIGHT IS BACK ON. THE CAR GOES BACK TO THE DEALER TOMORROW.
WE HAD OUR 2015 NISSAN MURANO AT A CERTIFIED NISSAN DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE BECAUSE OF A SAFETY FACTORY RECALL ORDERED BY NISSAN. THE RECALL WAS FOR REPLACEMENT OF AN ABS ACCELERATOR. THE NISSAN CERTIFIED TECH INDICATED TO ME, WHEN LOOSENING THE STRUT BOLTS TO GET TO THE ABS ACCELERATOR THEY SNAPPED AND NOW THE STRUTS WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED AT A COST TO ME OF $700. I NOW HAVE AN UNSAFE VEHICLE WITH DEFECTIVE STRUT BOLTS AND AN ABS ACCELERATOR THAT NEEDS REPLACED UNLESS I COME UP WITH $700. THE STRUT BOLTS POSSIBLY WOULD OF NEVER BEEN AN ISSUE IF NISSAN HADN'T A RECALL FOR THEIR UNSAFE ABS ACCELERATOR. I CONTACTED NISSAN CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THE COULD NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE WITH MY ISSUE.
WHILE DRIVING, MY PANORAMIC SUNROOF SUDDENLY EXPLODED. WHEN THE GLASS BROKE, IT BROKE OUTWARD AS IT WAS LIFTED WHEN I SAW IT WHEN I GOT TO MY DESTINATION.
DRIVER SEAT BELT DOES NOT RETRACT CORRECTLY. OCCURS WHEN SEAT BELT IS RELEASED.
WHEN TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL SET, THE INTELLIGENT CRUISE CONTROL MALFUNCTIONS ALONG WITH THE PREDICTIVE FORWARD BRAKING CAUSING SUDDEN DECELERATION. THIS HAS ALMOST GOTTEN ME INTO SEVERAL REAR END COLLISIONS AT HIGHWAYS SPEEDS THAT COULD HAVE CAUSED MAJOR WRECKS.
THE COLLISION LIGHT GOES ON INTERMITTENTLY WHILE IN MOTION ON CITY AND HIGHWAYS AND CAUSES THE CRUISE CONTROL NOT TO WORK UNLESS THE CAR IS TURNED OFF AND RESETS ITSELF.
THE ABS LIGHT COMES ON WHILE DRIVING AND CAR STALLS OR IMMEDIATELY SHUTS DOWN. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO NISSAN AND A DIAGNOSTIC TEST WAS DONE. THEY SAID I NEEDED TO HAVE MY CRANK SHAFT POSITIONING SENSOR CHANGED; I PAID AND HAD IT REPLACED AND STILL I AM EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM. I TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO KINGS NISSAN AT CONEY ISLAND BROOKLYN 2 WEEKS AGO AND IT'S STILL THERE AND THEY CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT'S GOING ON. NOW I AM BEING TOLD THEY'LL HAVE TO TAKE THE CAR APART TO FIGURE WHAT'S THE PROBLEM AND THAT'LL COST ME ABOUT A THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR LABOR, NOT INCLUSIVE OF ANY PARTS THAT MAY NEED TO BE REPLACED. MY PROBLEM HERE IS THAT NISSAN CANNOT DETERMINE THE ISSUE AND IS HAVING ME PAY FOR PARTS WHILE THEY CHANGE PARTS BY ASSUMING WHAT THEY ISSUE MIGHT BE, SINCE THEY ARE UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE REAL ISSUE. MY BIGGEST REGRET IS PURCHASING A NISSAN VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE IS BARELY 30,000 MILES AND IT'S COSTING ME TIME AND MONEY.
MULTIPLE TRANSMISSION ISSUES. STUTTERING AND JERKING AT LOW SPEED, ESPECIALLY ON A SLIGHT GRADE GOING UP. LOSS OF POWER FROM A STOP. SLIPPING WHEN GOING INTO GEAR THEN JERKING. SHIFT POINTS APPEAR TO BE ERRATIC. PROBABLY CAME ON SLOWLY BUT ONLY GOT TO A DANGEROUS OR PROBLEMATIC POINT NEAR THE END OF THE WARRANTY PERIOD. NOTICED IT BADLY WHEN ATTEMPTING TO PULL OUT INTO TRAFFIC AND ALMOST GOT SIDE SWIPED.
The climate control drivers seat does not operate. Nissan is aware of the situation and have issued a technical bulletin 1/17/19 Classification #EL18-035 Reference # NTB19-004. There are at least 1000 cases sited on the internet. I would like to know if there will be a recall issued as this is a safety fire hazard.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN MURANO. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD NOISE SIMILAR TO A GUN SHOT. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE SUN ROOF SHATTERED. THE SUN SHADE WAS CLOSED SO NO GLASS ENTERED THE VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE INSURANCE COMPANY ORDERED THE PART TO BE REPLACED AT A LOCAL GLASS SHOP. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 37,000. *DT *DL
THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION DRIVING ABOUT 45 MILES AN HOUR (NO RAIN, NO SNOW ON THE CAR), WHEN THE SUNROOF SPONTANEOUSLY EXPLODED. THE CAR WAS GOING STRAIGHT FORWARD WITH NO BUMPS IN THE ROAD. NO ROCKS HIT THE CAR AND THERE WAS NO COLLISION. IT WAS ABOUT 1:30PM IN DECEMBER IN MICHIGAN, THERE WERE NO OTHER CARS AROUND, NO ROCKS. THE SUNROOF EXPLODED ON I'S OWN - DUE TO FAULTY EQUIPMENT. THE CAR HAD ABOUT 21,000 MILES AND HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT. WE PURCHASED IT CERTIFIED, PRE OWNED FROM A NISSAN DEALERSHIP 8 MONTHS PRIOR. NISSAN HAS REFUSED TO TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE ISSUE.

THE CAR WAS BUCKING AT LOW SPEEDS (10-20 MPH) AND HAD A VIBRATION AT HIGH SPEEDS (70+). THE DEALERSHIP REPORTED THAT THE DIAGNOSTIC CODE WAS P17F0 AND THEY NEEDED TO REPLACE THE CVT SUBASSEMBLY AND THE RPL AUTOMATIC CVT TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY AND REPROGRAM THE A/T CONTROL UNIT.WHILE DOING THAT THEY DISCOVERED THEY NEEDED TO REPLACE THE FRONT AND REAR SEALS ON THE LEAKING TRANSFER CASE. THIS IS VERY SIMILAR TO A RECALL AFFECTING THE CVT ON OTHER NISSAN VEHICLES, BUT THAT RECALL DID NOT COVER THIS VEHICLE.
TWO WEEKS AGO I WAS BACKING OUT OF MY GARAGE AS ALWAYS AND HIT MY OTHER VEHICLE. THE BACKUP SENSOR DIDN'T SOUND. I NOW HAVE A DENT. IT HAPPENED AGAIN LAST WEEK AWAY FROM HOME BUT LUCKILY I HAD SOMEONE DIRECTING ME AND I WAS RIGHT ON THE CAR AND NO SENSOR WENT OFF. MY VEHICLE IS A 2015 NISSAN MURANO. I FEEL THAT I SHOULD BE A PART OF RECALL. I PURCHASED IT IN MARCH 2019 AND PURCHASED EXTENDED WARRANTY.
WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP OR AT LOW SPEED, TRANSMISSION JUDDERS AND CAUSES THE CAR TO LUNGE AND VIBRATE TILL IT GETS TO A HIGHER RPM. AT A CERTAIN RPM, THE CAR CAN SIMPLE LUG REPEATEDLY IF THE SPEED IS HELD CONSTANT. THE CAR STORES AN ERROR CODE AND THE FIX PER THE DEALER IS TO REBUILD THE TRANSMISSION. MY VEHICLE HAS THIS ISSUE AT ONLY 39,200 MILES. WHILE NISSAN CREATED A SERVICE BULLETIN FOR THIS ISSUE, AND WAS REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY, A REPAIR THIS MAJOR SHOULD BE A RECALL BECAUSE OF HOW EXPENSIVE IT WOULD BE TO REPAIR OUT OF WARRANTY. BASED ON THE REPAIR ORDER I WAS PROVIDED, THIS WOULD'VE COST OVER $1,600 FOR PARTS ALONE, AND THE DEALER NEEDED TO KEEP THE CAR FOR A FULL WEEK. CVT TRANSMISSION IS A CLASSIC NISSAN FAILURE. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR MULTIPLE TIMES TO MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALER. 1ST TIME, THEY REPLACED A FAULTY VALVE BODY, 2ND TIME THEY REPROGRAMMED THE SOFTWARE, 3RD TIME THEY DID A VIBRATION SOFTWARE UPDATE. STILL SHUDDERS IN LOWER GEARS, STILL HAS A VIBRATION WHILE IDLE, BUT THEY CLAIM THAT THEIR TECHNICIANS "CAN'T FEEL IT" OR THAT THEY "CAN'T GET THE CAR TO DUPLICATE". RIDICULOUS. THEY KNOW THE TRANSMISSION IS FAULTY AND THEY DON'T WANT TO FOOT THE BILL.
THE BACKUP CAMERA DID NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY. BACKING UP THE INDICATOR DID NOT SHOW OR SOUND A WARNING. THIS OCCURRED WHEN I WAS BACKING UP ON A STREET AND HIT A CAR. IT ALSO DOES NOT SOUND REGULARLY WHEN I'M BACKING UP IN ALL SITUATIONS.
MY NISSAN MURANO HAS AN AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING (AEB) SAFETY FEATURE. ABOUT A WEEK AGO, I WAS PULLING OUT OF THE GARAGE AT WORK. A CAR IN THE LANE TO MY RIGHT AND A LITTLE AHEAD OF ME, BUT NOT IN FRONT OF ME. I SLOWED AS I APPROACHED A SPEED BUMP. SPEED AT THIS TIME WAS LESS THAN 10MPH - ABOUT 5 MPH. ONCE SLOWED, TO GET OVER THE SPEED BUMP, I NEEDED TO PRESS ON THE GAS. THE AEB SYSTEM BEEPED QUICKLY AND LOUDLY. THE AEB SYMBOL FLASHED ON MY DASHBOARD. THEN, SUDDENLY AND ABRUPTLY, THE CAR STOP. THE AEB SYSTEM STOPPED THE CAR. AS IT DID, I LOOKED UP. THE OTHER CAR IN THE LANE NEXT TO ME HAD MANAGED TO GO OVER THE SPEED BUMPS WELL BEFORE ME AND WAS NEVER COMING INTO MY LANE. THE ONLY OTHER THING NEAR ME WAS THE SPEED BUMP SIGN THAT STRADDLED THE MEDIAN TO THE LEFT. BUT AGAIN, IT WAS NOT IN MY LANE. I WAS NOT IN ANY DANGER OF HITTING ANYTHING. THANKFULLY, THE CAR BEHIND ME WAS ABOUT 20 FEET AWAY OR IT WOULD HAVE REAR-ENDED ME. I WAS SCARED AND CONFUSED, BUT HAD TO KEEP GOING TO NOT BLOCK THE EXIT LANES. AFTER THAT INCIDENT, I NOTICED THAT THE AEB LIGHT ON MY DASH WOULD FLASH, SOMETIMES BRIEFLY, AGAIN, WHEN I WAS NOT IN ANY DANGER. IN ONE INSTANCES, I PULLED INTO A LANE AS I EXITED A GAS STATION BEHIND A CAR WAITING AT A RED LIGHT. THERE WAS A CAR IN FRONT OF ME SO I APPROACHED SLOWLY TO GET IN LINE AT THE LIGHT. THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN. AND AS I PRESSED THE GAS TO BEGIN TO ACCELERATE, THE AEB LIGHT FLASHED. THIS TIME, THE CARS BEHIND ME WERE CLOSER AND STARTING TO PICK UP SPEED. THE CAR DID NOT STOP, THANKFULLY. BUT THESE SITUATIONS CONTINUED AND OCCURRED AT LEAST ONCE A DAY. I CALLED THE DEALER TO ASK ABOUT RECALLS. THE SERVICE TECH DID NOT ACKNOWLEDGE ANY RECALLS AND OFFERED TO TEST IT FOR $145. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE CAUSED BY NISSAN. WE PAID EXTRA FOR THIS FEATURE AND NOW I CAN'T TRUST IT AND WORRY IT IS FAULTY.
SLUGGISH ACCELERATION AND SHUDDERING AT SPEEDS BELOW 35 MPH. I AM NOT SURE WHAT IS CAUSING IT BUT IT ALMOST ACTS LIKE IT COULD DIE. I RELEASE MY FOOT FROM THE GAS PEDAL AND THEN PUSH IT AGAIN TO GET THE HESITATION TO STOP AND CONTINUE DRIVING. THIS HAS HAPPENED MORE THAN 4 TIMES SINCE I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE IN APRIL 2019.
I HAVE HAD SEVERAL "ELECTRICAL" PROBLEMS WITH THIS VECHICLE- I PURCHASED IT FEB. 2016. IN JULY 2018- MY XM RADIO STOPPED WORKING. MADE 12 TRIPS TO NISSAN-THEY FINALLY REPLACED IT IN DEC. 2018!! NOW JUNE 2019 MY BACK UP CAMERA STOPPED WORKING AND THE DASH BOARD DOESN'T SHOW THE COMPASS AND THEN THE CONTROLS ON MY STEERING WHEELS DOESN'T WORK WHEN I'M DRIVING. UGH! THIS IS RIDICULOUS CAR ONLY HAS 17,000 MILES I SHOULD NOT BE HAVING SO MANY ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS I'M ACTUALLY CONCERNED ABOUT MY SAFETY. I TOOK THE CAR TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPT BOTH REPS AT THE DESK TOLD ME THE PROBLEM WAS A RECALL ON THE LESS EXPENSIVE MORE COMMON ROGUE MODEL BUT NOT ON THE MURANO WHICH USED THE VERY SAME COMPONENTS AND ALSO TOLD ME IT WAS VERY EXPENSIVE TO FIX .I SEARCHED ON LINE AND ON NUMEROUS SITES FOUND IT WAS A VERY COMMON SERIOUS DEFECT WITH A BOSCH SUPPLIED SENSOR ON THE RADAR . WHY ARE THEY FIXING ONE MODEL BUT NOT THE SAME DEFECT ON THE MURANO .THIS IS A DRIVING SAFETY FEATURE I CONSIDERED ESSENTIAL TO MY PURCHASE AND WHEN SUDDENLY FAILS DISENGAGING CRUISE CONTROL PRESENTS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION . THIS MAINLY CITY DRIVING. DEALER (LAMB NISSAN, PRESCOTT, AZ) SAYS IT WILL COST $1600 TO REPLACE FORWARD RADAR SENSOR. ONLY 36782 MILEAGE. IT IS POSSIBLE THE CAR WILL SLAM TO A STOP FOR NO REASON, AS HAS HAPPENED TO OTHERS.

THE MURANO HAS APPROXIMATELY 35,000 MILES ON IT. IT WAS DRIVING FINE WITHOUT ANY STRANGE NOISES. IT SUDDENLY LOST POWER AND WOULD NOT GO FASTER THAN 2 MPH. LUCKILY IT WAS ON A DEAD END ROAD AND THERE WAS TRAFFIC AROUND OR IT WOULD HAVE BEEN HIT AND THE DRIVER WOULD HAVE BEEN SEVERELY INJURIES IF NOT KILLED. THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO WARNING AND NO LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD. IT IS GOING TO COST $800 TO FIX AS IT HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED AS THE ALTERNATOR. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED.
WIFE WAS RETURNING HOME FROM WORK AT 2330 HOURS AND SMELLED PLASTIC BURNING. SUV IS EQUIPPED WITH CLIMATE CONTROLLED HEATED/COOLED SEATS. THE CONTROL KNOB FOR THE DRIVER SEAT NO LONGER LIGHTS UP. SEAT INOPERABLE. TOOK VEHICLE TO LOCAL NISSAN DEALER FOR INSPECTION. TECHNICIAN STATED " LEFT FRONT CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT HAS MELTED TERMINALS AND HARNESS CONNECTOR". THIS ACTION NEVER BLEW A FUSE? TECHNICIAN COULD NOT EXPLAIN HOW THIS HAPPENED. CONTACTED NISSAN ON 25 MARCH AN 1 APRIL, 2019. NOT CONCERNED ABOUT IT? THIS COULD HAVE POTENTIALLY RESULTED IN AN ELECTRICAL SHORT/FIRE.
WE PURCHASED OUR 2015 NISSAN MURANO PLATINUM ON 1/10/2019. THE VEHICLE HAS 36,106K. ON 1/13/2019 WE FELT A SLIGHT JUDDER WITH THE VEHICLE. WE AGAIN FELT A JUDDER ON 1/15/2019, WHICH WAS MORE SEVERE. ALTHOUGH NO SERVICE LIGHT WAS PRESENT, WE IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED THE DEALER AND SCHEDULED SERVICE FOR 1/16/2018. UPON COMPLETION OF THE SERVICE CALL, THE DEALER INDICATED THAT THE VALVE BODY WOULD NEED REPLACED, WHICH IS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. I HAVE READ SEVERAL COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS ISSUE WITH NISSAN CVTS. IT IS A CLEAR DANGER TO THE CONSUMER THAT IF THE CVT CONTINUES TO JUDDER AN ACCIDENT IS LIKELY. IN ADDITION, ISSUES WITH THE CVT CAN CAUSE A COMPLETE FAILURE OF THE VEHICLE, CAUSING SERIOUS HARM TO THE CONSUMER. CARS WILL GIVE A SERVICE LIGHT WHEN AN ISSUE AS TRIVIAL AS TIRE PRESSURE, LOW FUEL AND CHANGE ENGINE OIL OCCUR. WHY WHEN A MAJOR MECHANICAL ISSUE IS OCCURRING IS THE CAR NOT ALERTING THE OPERATOR OF A POTENTIALLY DEADLY CONSEQUENCE??!!
