WHILE THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 2 MPH AND MAKING A LEFT TURN, ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. THE DRIVER'S AIR BAG DEPLOYED WITH FORCE, WHICH IMPACTED THE CONTACT'S RIGHT EYE. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED BRUISES AND HEAD INJURIES THAT REQUIRED STITCHES AND MEDICAL TREATMENT. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 207,000.
TL*- THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING THE 2000 NISSAN PATHFINDER WITHN CURRENT MILEAGE AT 106,947 THE GAS PEDAL BECAME STUCK. AS A RESULT OF THE GAS PEDAL BEING STUCK THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A TREE AND A FENCE. UPON IMPACT, THE AIRBAGS NEVERED DEPLOYED.*AK
SEAT BELT BUCKLE ASSEMBLY IN THE REAR-RIGHT OUTBOARD POSITION LOCKED AND WOULD NOT RELEASE. RETRACTOR CONTINUED TO TIGHTEN ON A CHILD AND BELTS HAD TO BE CUT TO ALLOW CHILD TO EXIT VEHICLE. DEALERSHIP WAS REPLACING SEAT BELT SYSTEM FOR THAT SEATING POSITION UNDER WARRANTY. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION / DOCUMENTATION.*AK
