On October 23 2023 I purchased from Firestone where I have been a customer for some 30 years paying nearly $1000 for 4 tires. 1) On January 6, 2024 the first tire on the front driver"s side had picked up a nail GEICO road hadzard came and removed the tire. Firestone said they could not repair the tire and replaced it with another SureDrive new tire and charged me $55 plus dollars to replace. 2) On March 14, 2024 the 2nd tire on the rear passenger side picked up another nail GEICO came again and removed the tire that one was patched for free. 3) Then on May 2, 2024 the front passenger side with a slash and could not be repaired so it was replaced with a new tire and charges me some $25. 4) Then on July 24, 2024 the rear driver side and that tire had picked up a nail and by then I had started carrying an air pump in case of a flat and I would not have to wait for Roadside Service. So that time I left the nail in the tire and covered it with heavy piece of duct tape. Then attached the pump and aired it up and drove to the nearest Firestone where they patched that tire. Now I have four tires on my car with patches. Even the on new tire that replaced the slashed tired soon picked up a nail and had to be patched. I bought the tires because I had Michelin tires on my vehicle for which Firestone said during a Auto-Care complete check special for $9.99, that my tires were 12 years old and was dry rotted and dangerous to keep driving on. Being that I am a senior and ride alone most times I took their advice and bought a set of 4 new tires. I have asked the landlord to check their security cameras to rule out vandalism and I asked if others had suffered unusual tire flats. The answer was none. I live in a very clean and cared for apartment. Therefore it must be the tires. Maybe they were used instead of new. Perhaps you can help. Because now I feel more unsafe than before I bought the new tires. I am just worn out getting tire flats repaired.
i made appointments at 2 different Nissan dealers and contacted Nissan corporate about my airbag recall. Dealers were neither able or willing to obtain parts Walzer Nissan, Coon Rapids MN and Miller Nissan, St Cloud Mn. Ive received several notices about the recall but im told Nissan is not obligated to fix the problem, just notify me
The contact owns a 2004 Nissan Pathfinder equipped with Bridgestone Tires, Tire Line: Dueler H/L Alenza, Tire Size: 255/65/R16, DOT Number: (N/A). The contact stated while driving 65 MPH, the vehicle was swaying from side to side. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the front driver's side tread belt had shifted, causing the vehicle to sway while driving. The tire was a replacement tire. The tire was replaced; however, the failure recurred intermittently. No further repairs were completed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The tire failure mileage was approximately 32,000. The vehicle failure mileage was approximately 195,000. The VIN was unavailable.
I do not have an actual incident to report, but just trying to find out how you can get all these letters and calls from 3rd party companies to STOP! I have contacted my dealership and have entered my VIN on the NHTSA.gov/recalls site and there are no active recalls on my vehicle. I get letters almost weekly and the last one is designed to look like it actually is from my State of GA Motor Vehicle Division. I also receive calls on my home and cell phone. These companies need to be fined or something. If they are not legit, then how can they use all the insignias of State of GA and NHTSA and Nissan? What can someone do?
MY SHIFTER KEEPS GETTING LOCKED 8N THE PARK POSITION. I HAVE REPLACED THE SHIFTER SOLENOID BUT IT DID IT AGAIN IN A WEEK..
DRIVING AT 25 TO 50 MPH THE VEHICLE LURCHES FORWARD RHYTHMICALLY. CAUSING NEAR COLLISIONS WITH VEHICLES IN FRONT OF IT.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED FOR THE PAST TWO YEARS EVERY TIME THE VEHICLE WAS FUELED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
TAKATA RECALL: I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE NEW, AND AROUND THE 4TH YEAR, I STARTED TO NOTICE THAT THE BRAKE LIGHT WOULD COME ON. THE FIRST FEW REPAIRS THE BRAKES PADS CHANGED, LINE, CYLINDER, AND FULL BRAKE REPLACEMENT:, BUT THE ISSUE PERSISTED OVER THE YEARS WITHOUT ANY MECHANIC THAT COULD PROVIDE ME WITH AN EXPLANATION OF THIS PROBLEM. MY MAIN REASON FOR WRITING THIS IS BECAUSE OF THE INHERENT DANGER OF THIS BRAKE ISSUE. THIS PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED WHILE I WAS DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. TALKING TO OTHER OWNERS IN SOCIAL MEDIA GROUPS THIS BRAKE ISSUE SEEMS TO BE AN ISSUE WITH THE PATHFINDER ARMADA/TITAN MODELS. THIS IS A DANGER, PLEASE INVESTIGATE.
MY VEHICLE WAS MOSTLY IN THE STATE OF NY (SALT BELT STATE) FROM 2004 UNTIL 2015. (11 YEARS) IT'S NOW IN VA. THE UNDERCARRIAGE IS RUSTED BEYOND A NORMAL AMOUNT. THE EXHAUST ESPECIALLY HOLES ARE IN PIPING FROM THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER TO THE TAILPIPE. THE CARE IS LEAKING FUEL FROM THE METAL FILLER TUBE TO THE GAS TANK! MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP REFUSED TO ADDRESS THESE SERIOUS ISSUES AND INFERIOR METAL PIPING PROBLEMS. I'M SCARED THE VEHICLE WILL BLOW UP.IT'S DANGEROUS.
TAKATA RECALL FOR AIRBAGS ON 2004 NISSAN PATHFINDER. I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE IN NOVEMBER OF 2017 AND WAS NOT ADVISED OF THE RECALL ISSUED MAY 14, 2015 AT TIME OF PURCHASE. IN DECEMBER OF 2017 I WAS WAITING TO PULL OUT ONTO LONG POND RD AND AS I STARTED TO PULL OUT MY AIRBAGS DEPLOYED CAUSING ME TO SWERVE AND SLAM MY DRIVER TAIL LIGHT SIDE INTO A MOUND CAUSING TAIL LIGHT TO BUST AND DENT IN SIDE PANEL AT TAIL LIGHT. I HAVE CONTACTED NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND NO ONE WILL RETURN MY CALLS OR ASSIST ME IN THIS MATTER. ALL I WANT IS MY AIR BAGS REPLACED AND THE TAIL LIGHT FIXED. THERE WAS NO IMPACT TO SET THE AIR BAGS OFF AS I WAS CLEARLY STOPPED AND HAD JUST PULLED ONTO STREET. I FEEL THAT BECAUSE OF MY YOUNG AGE NO ONE WANTS TO TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY. I WAS 20 WHEN THIS HAPPENED AND IT IS MY FIRST VEHICLE PURCHASE EVER.
AIR BAG LIGHT IS FLASHING
The contact owned 2004 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, another vehicle crashed into the rear driver’s side of the vehicle. The driver’s side front and rear curtain air bags deployed and ruptured, projecting fragments, but was not struck by any fragments from the deployment. The contact sustained hearing loss from the decibel level of the air bag deployment inside the vehicle but did not seek medical assistance. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot, where it was deemed a total loss. The contact received a recall notice for NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V008000 (Air Bags). The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 41,000.
VEHICLE LIGHT FOR AIR BACK GOING ON IN THE SEATBELT DOESN'T WORK WELL
THE FUEL GAUGE STOPPED WORKING. I CHANGED THE FUEL PUMP AND THE SENDING UNIT THINKING THIS WAS THE PROBLEM. I NEVER RECEIVED A WARNING THAT ANYTHING WAS WRONG. I LOOKED ONLINE FOR RECALLS AND SAW THAT THERE WERE RECALLS FOR THIS PROBLEM IN THE 2005 AND OLDER MODELS OF PATHFINDERS. I TOOK MY CAR TO A NISSAN DEALER AND WAS TOLD THE FUEL GAUGE NOT WORKING IS A PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL NISSAN. LEARNED THAT MY FUEL GAUGE WASN'T WORKING WHEN MY CAR STOPPED ON THE HIGHWAY DUE TO MY CAR HAVING RUN OUT OF GAS WHICH COULD HAVE CAUSED ME TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT. NO WARNING. NOTHING. IF THE FUEL GAUGE NOT WORKING IS A PROBLEM WITH 2005 AND OLDER MODELS OF NISSAN WHY WASN'T THERE A RECALL FOR THE 2004 IF THIS IS ALSO AN ISSUE FOR THE 2004 MODEL? I TOOK MY CAR TO A NISSAN DEALER REGARDING THE FUEL GAUGE AND WAS TOLD THAT THE PART IS DISCONTINUED. HOW WOULD I FIX THIS IF THE PART DOESN'T EXISTS? IF THIS IS AN ISSUE IN THE 2004 NISSAN, WHY NOT RECALL THIS PART TO FIX THE PROBLEM? THIS COULD HAVE AND CAN CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT.
I BOUGHT THE TRUCK JANUARY 4TH THIS YEAR WHENI CHECKED TRANNMISSION FLUID WASN'T ON STICK. SO I ADDED 6 OUNCES FEB 15TH AND NEXT DAY OR 2 STARTED SLIPPING HAD IT FLUSHED 500 WORTH STILL SHOT. THIS WAS 2ND TIME TYRANNY. HAD BEEN SERVICED. NISSAN YOU KNOW IT'S FAULTY RADIATORS I MEAN 124.000 MILES WASN'T NOTHING FOR A NISSAN YEARS AGO I GUESS THAT'S CHANGED. VERY DISCOURAGED NEVER OWN ANOTHER 1.

ENGINE STOPPED RUNNING WHILE DRIVING. TURNED THE TANK WAS OUT OF GAS WITH FUEL GAUGE SHOWING RIGHT AT QUARTER MARK FULL. THE GAUGE SEEM TO SHOW FULL WHEN FILLED UP BUT FOR THE LAST THREE TIMES IT SHOWS A QUARTER TANK LEFT WHILE I AM ABLE TO PUMP IN OVER 18 GALLONS OF FUEL.

TAKATA RECALL SO YESTERDAY WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY US 31 AND IT WAS RAINING I LOST ALL FUNCTIONS OF MY BRAKES WITH MY 3 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER IN THE VEHICLE. THIS WAS THE SCARIEST EXPERIENCE EVER I THOUGHT WE WERE GOING TO DIE. AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP AND MAKEING A FEW PHONE CALLS I WAS ADVISED TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND TURN IT BACK ON THE BRAKE LIGHT WENT OFF AND BRAKE FUNCTIONS STARTED WORKING PROPERLY. REALLY CONSIDERING GETTING RID OF MY TRUCK AFTER THIS INCIDENT. WE COULD HAVE DIED.

THE FUEL GAUGE READ I HAD A QUARTER TANK OF GAS, BUT I RAN OUT. UPON SEARCHING THE INTERNET FOR ISSUES SUCH AS THIS THERE ARE TOO MANY TO LIST HERE. GOOGLE SEARCH FOR "2004 PATHFINDER FUEL LEVEL PROBLEM" THERE HAVE BEEN MULTIPLE ISSUES WITH THE DESIGN OF THE SENSOR AND THIS IS KNOWN BY NISSAN. BEING DISABLED AND RUNNING OUT OF GAS IS NOT SAFE AND SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BY NISSAN TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE.

GOING ABOUT 30MPH, IN TRAFFIC, WITH FAMILY INSIDE, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOST POWER. IT STARTED TO SHAKE AND VIBRATE. THE ENGINE ALSO STARTED MAKING A LOUD NOISE. DROVE IT TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP. THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING OBVIOUS AND QUOTED A COST OF $250 TO SIMPLY INVESTIGATE FURTHER. WE AGREED. THEY CAME BACK AND SAID THE ENGINE CAMSHAFT AND TIMING CHAIN NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. ESTIMATED COST $2500! THEY COULD NOT EXPLAIN WHY OR HOW THIS COULD HAVE HAPPENED TO A CORE ENGINE COMPONENT. THEY *THINK* SOME MISALIGNMENT OF THE TIMING CHAIN MIGHT HAVE CAUSED IT. WE DIDN'T HAVE A CHOICE BUT TO GET THE REPAIRS DONE. THEY ALSO HAD TO REPLACE THE ENGINE COOLANT FOR SOME REASON. MY RESEARCH SHOWS THAT THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL TIMING CHAIN ISSUES REPORTED THAT HAVE CAUSED CAM/ENGINE FAILURES ON SAME/SIMILAR NISSAN MODELS/ENGINES. THERE IS ALSO A CLASS-ACTION LAWSUIT BEING PREPARED TO HOLD NISSAN ACCOUNTABLE FOR THESE DEFECTS AND REPAIRS. *TR
AFTER A GAS FILL, THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THE FUEL INDICATOR SHOWED ZERO FUEL EVEN WHEN THE TANK WAS FULL. NISSAN DEALER SAID THE FUEL SENDING UNIT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. ESTIMATED REPAIR COST $350! DID SOME RESEARCH ONLINE AND FOUND THAT THE FUEL SENDING UNIT HAS BEEN BAD ON SEVERAL OF THESE VEHICLES. NISSAN ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND THERE HAVE BEEN RECALLS BUT WE ARE OUT OF WARRANTY BY MILEAGE (BUT NOT BY VEHICLE AGE) AND HENCE THEY WOULD NOT COVER THE COST. THIS IS A *SAFETY* ISSUE, REGARDLESS OF THE MILEAGE THAT WE THINK NISSAN SHOULD FIX AT THEIR COST. IT'S SIMPLY A DEFECTIVE COMPONENT THAT WAS INSTALLED ON THOUSANDS OF VEHICLES. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DEALER FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE WHERE THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED OF CORROSION ON THE STRUT HOUSING. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 11V244000 (STEERING: COLUMN). THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER THE REPAIR, THERE WAS A GRINDING NOISE EMITTED FROM THE VEHICLE HOWEVER THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED OR REPAIRED FOR THE ISSUE. THE CHECK ENGINE AND ELECTRONIC CONTROL WARNING LIGHTS WERE ALSO ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE RELAYS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND NO ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 132,000. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
DRIVING MY SON'S PATHFINDER FOR THE FIRST TIME TO SEE WHAT HE WAS COMPLAINING ABOUT SHOCKED ME. I WAS GETTING ON THE INTERSTATE, AND MERGING ONTO THE HIGHWAY, WHEN THE PATHFINDER STARTED WOBBLING SO ROUGHLY THAT I PULLED OVER. I WAS SHAKING! MY SON WAS ALSO IN THE VEHICLE WITH ME, HE SAYS IT GETS EVEN WORSE, AND DOES THIS WOBBLE AT ALL SPEEDS. I PULLED BACK ONTO THE HIGHWAY, AND AGAIN STARTED WOBBLING SO SEVERELY AT 50 MILES AN HOUR, I SLOWED DOWN TO 40 AND STILL FELT LIKE I WAS NOT IN CONTROL OF THE STEERING. I TOOK THE PATHFINDER TO THE TIRE DEALERS IN TOWN AND ALSO TO HAVE THE UNDERCARRIAGE LOOKED AT. NO BODY WAS ABLE TO ANSWER THE QUESTION AS TO WHY THIS IS HAPPENING. EVEN THE NISSAN DEALER HAD NO CLUE. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS PROBLEM ON LINE AND FOUND SIMILAR TALES. THIS IS A FRIGHTENING SITUATION. MY GRANDDAUGHTER IS NOT ALLOWED TO RIDE IN THIS VEHICLE. I AM THE OWNER OF A 2004 PATHFINDER WITH 75,000 MILES. MY WIFE WAS DRIVING AROUND MARCH 15 WHEN MY ENGINE BEGAN TO PRODUCE A LOUD KNOCK. SHE IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER AND CALLED A TOW TRUCK. SHE HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO NISSAN DEALER. THE KNOCK WAS STILL THERE. THEY INVESTIGATED AND STATED THE WE NEEDED A NEW ENGINE. A SIMPLE INTERNET SEARCH WILL FIND NUMEROUS REPORTS OF THIS HAPPENING ON ALTIMAS, SENTRAS, AND PATHFINDERS BECAUSE THE SCREWS WERE NOT PROPERLY LOCKED AT THE FACTORY, MAKING THIS A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT. SOMETHING THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN DEALT WITH BY ISSUING A MANDATORY SERVICE. MY VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY UNDRIVABLE FOR FEAR OF FURTHER DAMAGE, AS WE AWAIT A RESPONSE FROM NISSAN NORTH AMERICA ON WHAT ACTION, IF ANY, THEY WILL DO TO INVESTIGATE. *RT *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND FOUND THAT THE SPARE TIRE WAS HANGING FROM THE CHAIN, WHICH WAS CORRODED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
I AM THE OWNER OF A 2004 PATHFINDER WITH 79,000MILES. I WAS DRIVING ON JUNE 6TH WHEN MY ENGINE BEGAN TO PRODUCE A LOUD KNOCK. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER AND CALLED A TOW TRUCK. I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED HOME SO I COULD INVESTIGATE THE NOISE. UPON REMOVAL OF THE UPPER INTAKE MANIFOLD I FOUND 1 OF THE 6 POWER VALVES HAD MOVED FROM ITS PROPER LOCATION, AND WAS ON TOP OF ANOTHER VALVE. THE 2 SCREWS MEANT TO HOLD IT IN PLACE WERE MISSING, AND I FOUND THAT 8 OF THE 10 REMAINING SCREWS TO BE LOOSE. I WAS ABLE TO FIND 1 SCREW THAT WAS SITTING DOWN INSIDE THE HEAD, ABOUT TO ENTER THE CYLINDER. I THEN PRECEDED TO REMOVE EACH SCREW, LOCKED IT, AND REINSTALL IT. HOPING THIS SOLVED THE PROBLEM, I REASSEMBLED THE ENGINE, AND STARTED IT. THE KNOCK WAS STILL THERE. SO THIS MEANS THAT THE SCREW I COULDN'T FIND MADE ITS WAY INTO THE CYLINDER AND CAUSED UNKNOWN DAMAGE. A SIMPLE INTERNET SEARCH WILL FIND NUMEROUS REPORTS OF THIS HAPPENING ON ALTIMAS, SENTRAS, AND PATHFINDERS BECAUSE THE SCREWS WERE NOT PROPERLY LOCKED AT THE FACTORY, MAKING THIS A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT. SOMETHING THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN DEALT WITH BY ISSUING A MANDATORY SERVICE, THERE BY NOT WASTING MY TIME AND MONEY ON SOMETHING THAT TAKES LESS THAN AN HOUR TO REMEDY. MY VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY UNDRIVABLE FOR FEAR OF FURTHER DAMAGE, AS I AWAIT A RESPONSE FROM NISSAN NORTH AMERICA ON WHAT ACTION, IF ANY, THEY WILL DO TO INVESTIGATE. *TR
MY 2004 NISSAN PATHFINDER WAS STUCK IN "PARK" I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO DEALER. I'M TOLD THE WHOLE SHIFT MECHANISM NEEDS TO BE REPLACED ($900). I SEARCHED FOR RECALL ON THIS BUT FOUND NONE. THIS VEHICLE HAS 62,000 MILES, I FEEL SUCH A DEFECT SHOULD BE COVERED BY THE MANUFACTURER. AS IF THIS WEREN'T TROUBLE ENOUGH, IT TOOK THE DEALER TWO DAYS TO GET THE PART AND REPAIR THE VEHICLE, LEAVING ME TO RENT A CAR AT MY EXPENSE. *TR
2004 NISSAN PATHFINDER WITH SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT ON. CONSUMER STATES THAT THE VEHICLE HAD SMOKE COMING FROM THE TAIL PIPE, LOSING POWER AND WOULDN'T GO OVER 45 MPH. MECHANIC STATED THE VEHICLE WAS 4 QUARTS LOW ON OIL. *KB THE CONSUMER STATED THE OIL HAD BEEN CHANGED ON FEB 2, 2008. AND ON APRIL 3, 2008 THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THE VEHICLE NEEDED A NEW ENGINE. THE CONSUMER STATED IT WAS THE DEALERS FAULT THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. SHE BELIEVED THEY FAILED TO PUT IN NEW OIL ON THE LAST VISIT.*JB
THE SHIFTER ON MY PATHFINDER WAS STUCK IN PARK, THEY REPLACED THE SHIFTER SOLENOID WHICH NOW THE SHIFTER IS DOING FINE. I FEEL LIKE THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED SO SOON. I'M NOT SURE IF THERE IS A RECALL ON THIS BUT THINK THERE SHOULD BE. I WAS SO DISAPPOINTED THAT I WAS HAVING THIS TROUBLE SO SOON. I DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY DID WITH THE OLD PART. DT: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING ON A NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS THE WINDSHIELD SUDDENLY CRACKED IN A SPIDER WEB PATTERN, NO HIT WAS HEARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP WHO DETERMINED AN OBJECT IMPACTED THE WINDSHIELD FROM OUTSIDE. THE CONTACT VISITED ANOTHER DEALERSHIP FOR A SECOND OPINION WHO DETERMINED THE IMPACT CAME FROM THE INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT THINKS THE WINDSHIELD WAS DEFECTIVE.
ON JAN. 18, PARKED VEHICLE, UPON STARTING UP,WIPERS DID NOT WORK. I HAD TO DRIVE HOME IN HEAVY RAIN OVER 2 MILES WITH NO WIPERS. 2-3 HOURS LATER, I CHECKED ON THE CONDITION OF THE WIPERS,THEY OPERATED PROPERLY. THE SAME SITUATION OCCURRED 3 DAYS LATER. VEHICLE WAS LEFT AT SERVICE DEPT. ON 1/20 TO RECREATE THE PROBLEM. SERVICE DEPT. UNABLE TO RECREATE PROBLEM. CALLED NISSAN CUSTOMER SERVICE. ON 1/20/06, TICKET # 5207119. I FILLED OUT SURVEY AFTER PROBLEM COULD NOT BE DIAGNOSED. SERVICE DEPT. MANAGER WAS TOLD BY HIS DSM, NOT TO CHANGE PARTS FOR THE SAKE OF CHANGING PARTS. ON 1/31/06 SERV.DEPT. CHANGED WIPER SWITCH UNDER GOOD WILL. WHEN ASKED IF SERVICE MGR. WOULD SEND REPLACED PART TO BE TESTED, HE STATED THAT IF HE REPORTED THE PART UNDER WARRANTY, HE WOULD BE CHARGED IF THE PART WAS NOT BROKEN. ON 5/18, WITH 2 WITNESSES, WIPERS DID NOT GO ON. A SHORT TIME LATER WIPERS BEGAN TO WORK. I BROUGHT VEHICLE ON 5/25 SERVICE MGR. WAS GOING TO ATTEMPT TO RECREATE THE PROBLEM AGAIN. UNABLE TO DO SO. ON 5/25 CALLED NISSAN CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPLAINED SITUATION, PROCEEDED TO OPEN TICKET # 5343456.PROBLEM WOULD NOT BE FORWARDED TO A REGIONAL OFFICE UNLESS THE SITUATION COULD BE DUPLICATED. 5/31/06, SPOKE TO SERVICE MGR, GAVE HIM THE TICKET NUMBER TO CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE THAT HE COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. SPOKE TO NISSAN CUST SERV ON 6/2/06 AT 4:50 PM. I REQUESTED TO HAVE NISSAN CHANGE PARTS TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. ON TUES. 6/6/06 , I SPOKE TO REGIONAL OFFICE, INFORMED ME OF SAME NISSAN POLICY,NOTHING COULD BE DONE UNTIL THE PROBLEM WAS RECREATED AND DIAGNOSED. 6/7/06- CONTACTED ATTORNEY GENERAL, LEMON LAW DIVISION. INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE NOT COVERED UNDER LEMON LAW. I WAS TOLD TO FILE COMPLAINT WITH ATTORNEY GENERAL OFFICE 6/8/06 '' SPOKE TO TECHNICAL OFFICE OF NYDMV,DIRECTED ME TO NHTSA SITE. NISSAN HAS REFUSED TO REPLACE ANY PARTS UNLESS THEY CAN RECREATE THE PROBLEM. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE WHERE THE WIPERS HAVE STOPPED WORKING SEVERAL TIMES WITHOUT WARNING.*JB

WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 30 MILES PER HOUR, MY 2004 PATHFINDER STARTED ACCELERATING. THE BRAKES WERE NOT RESPONDING AND THE STEERING WHEEL WAS OUT OF CONTROL. THE CAR SUDDENLY TURNED TO THE LEFT ON A 2-WAY STREET. AFTER ABOUT 20 SECONDS OR SO, THE VEHICLE STARTED SLOWING DOWN ON ITS OWN AND THE BRAKES AND STEERING STARTED RESPONDING AGAIN. HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALER. A FEW DAYS OF DEALER CHECKING, DIAGNOSTICS AND TESTING STILL HAVE NOT SHOWN THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. AN EMAIL TO NISSAN USA WAS SENT AND I AM STILL WAITING FOR A RESPONSE. I AM NOW AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR SINCE THE DEALERS SERVICE CANNOT FIND WHAT'S WRONG WITH IT AND THE PROBLEM MAY JUST RE-OCCUR AT ANY TIME. *JB
I WAS DRIVING SLOWLY IN PERFECT WEATHER CONDITIONS IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. I WAS FAR BACK FROM THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME I THEN REALIZED THAT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME HAD NO TAILLIGHTS AND WAS STOPPED , I STEPPED ON THE BRAKES AND MY BRAKES SHIMMIED KIND OF LIKE I WAS HYDROPLAINING ON WATER AND THEN I HIT THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. THE VEHICLE RAN EVEN THOUGH I HIT THEM. THIS CAUSED OVER 7,000 DOLLARS WORTH OF DAMAGE TO MY CAR AND WHIPLASH TO ME. ALSO A POLICE OFFICER SAW THE ACCIDENT AND HE EVEN SAID HE SAW HOW FAR AWAY I WAS AND DID NOT UNDERSTAND WHY I DID NOT STOP. THE THIRD SET OF FRONT BRAKES HAVE BEEN INSTALLED ON THE CONSUMER'S 2004 NISSAN TITAN DUE TO SEVERE SHUDDER AND VIBRATION. THE VEHICLE ONLY HAS 9400 MILES. *NM *SC *JB
WHILE BRAKING AT ANY SPEED THE STEERING WHEEL PULSATED. DEALERSHIP INFORMED/REPAIRED THE WARPED FRONT BRAKE ROTORS. CONSUMER WAS STILL HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS. *AK
THE TOP OF MY SHOE RUBS AGAINST THE WIRING HARNESS ABOVE THE ACCELLERATOR PEDAL. THIS IS DISCONCERTING BECAUSE IT SOMETIMES (DEPENDING ON THE EXACT POSITION OF THE HEEL OF MY FOOT ON THE FLOOR) REQUIRES EXTRA EFFORT TO REMOVE MY FOOT FROM THE ACCELLERATOR PEDAL. IT TAKES AN EXTRA FRACTION OF A SECOND TO MOVE MY FOOT TO THE BRAKE PEDAL, AND I FEEL THIS IS DANGEROUS. I HAVE GONE TO THE DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND THEY WILL NOT MOVE THE WIRES. I HAVE ALSO CALLED THE MANUFACTURER'S SERVICE NUMBER AND THEY WILL NOT RECOMMEND ANY CHANGES. I JUST WANT TO MAKE A NOTE THAT MY SHOE SIZE IS NOT PARTICULARLY LARGE (SIZE 10), AND THAT I DRIVE WITH THE HEEL OF MY FOOT ON THE FLOOR (I DON'T LIFT MY FOOT UP TO HIT THE WIRING HARNESS).*AK
WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP COMPLETELY. THIS CAUSED THE DRIVER TO COLLIDED WITH THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF HIM. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A BODY SHOP FOR INSPECTION. THE CAUSE HAS NOT BEEN DETERMINED AT THIS TIME. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS. *JB
CONSUMER STATED THAT THE BRAKES WERE SOFT. THE FRONT END SHIMMIED WHEN BRAKING. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THE ROTORS WERE WARPED AND NEEDED FRONT PADS. ALSO, THE CONSUMER WAS TOLD THAT A SUB STANDARD BRAKE SYSTEM WAS INSTALLED BY THE MANUFACTURER.
