TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STARTED THE IGNITION. THE ENGINE WARNING LIGHT INDICATOR ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE WARNING INDICATOR REMAINED ILLUMINATED UNTIL THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE FAILURE WAS CONTRIBUTED TO THE FUEL LEVEL SENDING UNIT. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED FOR THE MALFUNCTION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,190.
I HAVE A 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER & EXPERIENCING THE SAME FUEL SENSOR ISSUES THE RECALL IS ADDRESSING BUT STARTING WITH 2006 MODELS. THIS JUST STARTED AROUND 80K A MONTH AGO, BUT NOW IS UNSAFE FOR TO DRIVE ALONE AT NIGHT WITH MY INFANT CHILD. THE "DTE" FIRST STARTED FLASHING AROUND 100 MILE DTE.....THEN THE SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT CAME ON FOR GOOD. NOW, I FILL UP AND THE GAUGE DOES NOT MOVE AT ALL AND ALWAYS HAS A WARNING LIGHT ON. HOW I AM SUPPOSED TO TELL HOW MUCH GAS I HAVE? THIS IS A $500 FIX THAT I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR, ESPECIALLY SINCE MY 2005 MODEL IS THE EXACT SAME VEHICLE AS THE 2006 THAT WAS INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER STARTED HAVING SHIFTING PROBLEMS, HAD 60K SERVICE DONE AT DEALER, STARTED AGAIN, FLUSHED AGAIN AT 72 HAD PROBLEMS AGAIN AT 80 AND AT 87K THE RADIATOR CORE FAILED AND LEAKED INTO THE TRANSMISSION CAUSING THE TRANSMISSION TO FAIL AND SEIZE TOTAL COST FOR REPAIRS 4400.00 AFTER HEARING ABOUT THIS I DID A LITTLE SEARCH AND FOUND THIS IS A BIG PROBLEM WITH THIS CAR, AS THE SHIFTING IS A PRECURSER TO THE FAILURE, I WANTED THE DEALER TO COVER SINCE THEY ASSURED ME IT WAS OK.. *TR

TRANSMISSION COOLER LEAKING INTO TRANSMISSION THE TRANSMISSION COOLER ON THE NISSAN PATHFINDER 2005 AN THE FRONTIER 2005 IS LOCATED IN THE RADIATOR. THERE IS A DEFECT IN EITHER MATERIAL OR MANUFACTURING CAUSING THE LINE FROM THE TRANSMISSION COOLER TO TRANSMISSION TO FAILED PREMATURELY. THE EFFECT IS OF THE FAILURE IS SLIPPING OF THE TRANSMISSION AND EVENTUALLY FAILURE OF THE TRANSMISSION. *TR
REGULAR DRIVING MINIMAL TO HARDLY ANY TOWING. TRANSMISSION AND COOLANT FLUSHED RELIGIOUSLY AT 30K SINCE TAKEN OWNERSHIP. CURRENT MILEAGE 80K. FAILURE OF RADIATOR CROSS CONTAMINATES ATF AND COOLANT, EVENTUALLY DESTROYING TRANSMISSION COSTING $5000 TO REPAIR ASIDE FROM DISABLING THE VEHICLE. THIS IS AN ISSUE ON MANY 2005 PATHFINDER, XTERRA AND FRONTIERS EQUIPPED WITH 4.0L V6 COUPLED WITH 5 SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALERSHIP. NISSAN MUST TAKE RESPONSIBILITY. *TR
FILLED UP WITH GAS AND FUEL SENSOR GOES BAD. GAS LEVEL IS NO LONGER CORRECT THUS VEHICLE COULD RUN OUT OF GAS AT ANYTIME CAUSING A HAZARD. THIS REQUIRES REPLACEMENT OF SENSOR. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE FAILURE WAS CAUSED BY TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAKING INTO THE RADIATOR. THE CONTACT WAS DISPLEASED TO KNOW THE AUTHORIZED DEALER WAS NOT FINANCIALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIR COST. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,974. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 76,000.
2005 PATHFINDER SE- WITH 52K MILES VEHICLE SHUT OFF WHILE TRAVELING AT HIGH SPEED (70MPH) ON FREEWAY- ALL POWER CONTROLS FAILED PROBLEM WAS IDENTIFIED TO BE WITH A FAILURE OF THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR- REPORTS ACQUIRED INDICATE THAT THIS IS A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM WITH PREMATURE FAILURE OF THIS UNIT ON 2005 AND NEWER MODEL YEAR PATHFINDERS- FUEL LEVEL INDICATOR FAILS AND GIVES INACCURATE READING TO DRIVER - WHEN TANK IS EMPTY SHOWS IT TO BE 1/2 FULL. WHEN DRIVING AT HIGH SPEED LOOSING ALL ENGINE POWER CAN BE CATASTROPHIC DEALER REPORTS MANY SIMILAR PROBLEMS BUT NISSAN HAS NOT RECALLED FOR THIS WIDESPREAD MANUFACTURING/DESIGN PROBLEM REPORTED ALSO ON LINE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THE ENGINE SHUT OFF. THE DEALER REPLACED THE IPDM BOARD THAT CONTROLS THE ENGINE ON THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER TOLD THE DEALER THAT THEY WERE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE WOULD START, SHUT OFF AND OCCASIONALLY THE VEHICLE WOULD TAKE A LONG TIME TO RESTART. THIS IS REFERENCE TO 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER LE. I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND THE SUV STARTED TO SLOW DOWN. I PRESS DOWN THE GAS PEDAL TO GIVE IT MORE POWER BUT IT WOULDN'T ACCELERATE. I PULLED TO SIDE OF THE FREEWAY AND TURN THE ENGINE OFF TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. I COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG SO I TRIED TO RESTART IT BUT WOULD NOT CRANK OVER. THE METRO FREEWAY TOWING COMPANY TRY TO JUMP START IT 3 TIMES BUT WOULD NOT START. I HAD IT TOW TO THE NISSAN DEALER IN THE CITY OF WEST COVINA WHICH THEY DISCOVER THAT THE COOLANT FROM THE RADIATOR LEAKED INTO THE TRANSMISSION. THE MIXURE OF THE TWO COMPONENTS BURNED OUT THE ECM MODULE IN THE TRANSMISSION. THE COST OF REPLACING THE RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION IS APPROXIMATELY $5400.00, THE VECHICLE IS STILL AT THE NISSAN DEALER WHICH I AM CURRENTLY TRYING FIND A RESOLUATION TO THIS MATTER. BOTTOM LINE WHO IS GOING TO PAY FOR THIS BILL SINCE THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE. *TR
I HAVE A 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER THAT HAS BEGUN TO SHOW SIGNS OF THE ENGINE COOLANT LEAKAGE INTO THE TRANSMISSION FLUID PROBLEM THAT HAS BEEN REPORTED BY SEVERAL OTHER CONSUMERS. THE PROBLEMS OCCURRING ARE SEVERE TRANSMISSION SLIPPAGE AT HIGH SPEEDS AND VIBRATION AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 45-55 MPH. I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING THESE PROBLEMS FOR SEVERAL DAYS AND AM CONTACTING NISSAN FOR THE DREADED FORMAL DIAGNOSIS. THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT NEEDS IMMEDIATE ATTENTION AS THE CATASTROPHIC FAILURE OF A VEHICLE TRANSMISSION AT HIGH SPEED CAN LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT WITH POTENTIAL FOR VERY SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. THE PROBLEM IS WELL KNOW TO NISSAN AND HAS OCCURRED IN OTHER MODEL YEARS AS WELL AND THEY HAVE BEEN UNWILLING TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE. IT APPEARS NISSAN WILL CONTINUE TO IGNORE THE COOLANT LEAKAGE INTO THE TRANSMISSION FLUID VIA THE RADIATOR DESIGN FLAW UNTIL DIRECTED TO DO SO. THIS HAS BEEN REPORTED IN MANY CONSUMER FORUMS RELATED TO NISSAN PATHFINDERS OF YEARS 2005-2007. *TR
WHILE DRIVING ON A SNOW IN 4WD COVERED SECONDARY ROAD I APPLIED MY BRAKES AND THEY LOCKED UP AND NEVER RELEASED, LEAVING THE CAR STRANDED IN THE TRAVEL LANE. I DID TRY TO FORCE THE CAR OVER TO THE SHOULDER AND ENDED UP BREAKING MY FRONT DRIVESHAFT AND DIFFERENTIAL. THE PROBLEM WAS A FAILED ABS ACTUATOR THAT THE DEALER COULD NOT GET IT TO RELEASE THE BRAKES EVEN WITH THE CAR OFF AND KEY OUT. MY CONCERN IS IF THIS HAPPENED AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THE OUTCOME COULD HAVE BEEN FOR WORSE. THE CAR WAS REPAIRED AND I PAID FOR THE REPAIRS IN FULL. NISSAN N.A. DID CONTACT ME TO SAY THERE WOULD BE NO MORE GOODWILL AND CLAIMED THEY NEVER SOW THIS BEFORE. I HAVE SEEN ON MAXIMA AND MURANO FORUMS THAT THERE HAVE BEEN ABS FAILURES. FOR THE RECORD MY OTHER TO OUT OF WARRANTY ISSUES WAS A PAINT PEELING ON THE ROOF AND A DEFECTIVE RADIATOR THAT RUINED THE TRANSMISSION(NISSAN KNEW ABOUT THE FAULTY RADIATORS). *TR
2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER GAS GAUGE FAILURE IS A SAFETY ISSUE. THE GAS GAUGE IN MY 2005 PATHFINDER FAILS AND HAS CAUSED THE CAR TO RUN OUT OF GAS TWICE IN BUSY INTERCHANGES. A REAR END COLLISION COULD RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT OR DEATH.

LOOKING AT CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS ONLINE, IT LOOKS AS EVERY PATHFINDER WITH ABOVE 60,000 MILES SUFFERS THE SAME PROBLEM. *TR
1) CAR STARTED TO STUTTER AT FIRST, THEN KICK, THEN BUCK WHEN HITTING 60MPH. THEN IT STARTED DOING IT AT 30MPH, 45MPH AND AGAIN AT 60MPH. 2) IT WON'T AUTOMATICALLY SHIFT (YES IT IS AN AUTOMATIC) IN 3 OR MORE GEARS ONCE THE CAR HAS BEEN WARMED UP 3) CAR WAS TAKEN TO DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC (AT THEIR REQUEST) AND THEY SAID THE MOST "COST EFFECTIVE" WAY IS TO REPLACE THE RADIATOR AND THE TRANSMISSION DUE TO A LEAKING RADIATOR HOSE THAT MANAGES TO GET LIQUID INTO THE TRANSMISSION. *TR
2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER HAS PROBLEMS WITH ANTIFREEZE LEAKING INTO THE TRANSMISSION BECAUSE OF SOME DESIGN FLAW. AFTER RESEARCHING THIS PROBLEM I SEE THAT THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS OF THIS OCCURRING WITH THIS SAME PARTICULAR MODEL. THE TRANSMISSION STARTS TO MAKE A GRINDING NOISE AND THEN WILL START SLIPPING. NISSAN IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM BECAUSE THEY ARE THE ONE THAT HAS DIAGNOSED IT OVER AND OVER AGAIN, BUT HAVE REFUSED TO ISSUE A TSB OR RECALL. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS DEFECT AND IS COSTING PEOPLE 5 TO 10 THOUSAND DOLLARS TO FIX. MY 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER IS AT THE DEALERSHIP AWAITING REPAIR. THIS WILL COST ME $5500 TO FIX AND NISSAN WILL NOT ASSIST. NISSAN SHOULD CONSIDER THE PROBLEMS THAT TOYOTA IS HAVING RIGHT NOW AND ISSUE A RECALL FOR THIS DEFECT. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE TECHNICIAN RECOMMENDED THAT THE TRANSMISSION BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED AT THIS TIME. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 79,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THE RADIATOR IS FAULTY AND IT SUDDENLY FAILED. THE RADIATOR COOLANT GOES BACK THROUGH THE TRANSMISSION AND MIXES THE FLUIDS TOGETHER. THE DEALER WAS CALLED, AND THEY STATED THE VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND THEY WOULD NOT REPLACE THE RADIATOR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CALLED AND THEY TOLD THE CONTACT TO FILE A CLAIM. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER. WHILE DRIVING AT SPEEDS OF 45 MPH THE VEHICLE BEGAN VIBRATING ABNORMALLY AND SHAKING VIOLENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO A DEFECTIVE ABS SENSOR WHICH WAS REPLACED. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN POSSESSION OF THE DEALER, THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A CRASH AND REPAIRS WERE MADE TO THE VEHICLE AT THE DEALERS EXPENSE. THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS CAUSED BY A DEFECTIVE RADIATOR THAT ALSO CAUSED THE TRANSMISSION TO FAIL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 72,800 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 74,000.
I JUST RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER. JUST A COUPLE OF SHORT WEEKS AFTER OWNING THE VEHICLE, I BEGAN TO NOTICE A STRANGE VIBRATION NOISE (LIKE YOU ARE DRIVING OVER A GROOVED SURFACE) COMING FROM THE VEHICLE AROUND 2000-2500 RPMS OR 45-65 MPH. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH ONLINE (HTTP://TOWNHALL-TALK.EDMUNDS.COM/DIRECT/VIEW/.F177B6C/8#MSG8) I HAVE FOUND OUT THAT THERE ARE A TON OF PEOPLE HAVING THIS SAME EXACT PROBLEM ON THE '05 NISSAN PATHFINDERS. APPARENTLY, THERE IS A HOSE THAT RUNS FROM THE RADIATOR TO THE TRANSMISSION AND THERE IS A CHRONIC PROBLEM WITH ANTIFREEZE LEAKING FROM THE RADIATOR INTO THE TRANSMISSION, THUS CAUSING THE TRANSMISSION TO BEGIN TO MALFUNCTION AND THEN ULTIMATELY SHUT DOWN. AS YOU CAN SEE FROM THE POST ON EDMUNDS.COM, THIS IS A CHRONIC ISSUE IMPACTING ALL 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER OWNERS. I DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY TO GET THE RADIATOR/TRANSMISSION REPLACED ON THIS VEHICLE. YET, I MUST HAVE TRANSPORTATION TO GET TO/FRO WORK. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY DEFECTIVE ENGINEERING ON NISSANS PART AND THEY NEED TO TAKE OWNERSHIP OF THIS ISSUE AND ADDRESS THE FAULTY ENGINEERING HERE BEFORE SOMEONE'S TRANSMISSION SHUTS DOWN AT 60MPH CAUSING A CRASH ON ONE OF OUR HIGHWAYS/INTERSTATES. *TR
FUEL SENDER GAUGE ON MY 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER IS FAILING OR HAS FAILED. WILL CONSISTENTLY FLASH DASHES OR REPORT "0" FOR THE DISTANCE TO EMPTY INDICATOR AND THE FUEL GAUGE IS NOW RESPONDING SIMILARLY. THERE HAS BEEN NO DAMAGE TO PROPERTY OR INJURY AS OF YET, BUT I AM APPALLED THAT NISSAN HAS THE 2005 ARMADA (SIMILAR DESIGN) AND THE 2006 PATHFINDER LISTED FOR THE RECALL, BUT CLAIMS THE PATHFINDER IS NOT COVERED BY THIS, WHEN A QUICK SEARCH OF FORUMS WILL OFFER UP OVERWHELMING EVIDENCE THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM FOR NUMEROUS PARTS OF THE PRODUCT LINE AND COULD EASILY RESULT IN THE CAR SHUTTING DOWN DUE TO FAULTY INFORMATION OR RUNNING OUT OF FUEL DUE TO INACCURATE READINGS. TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE FOR OWNERS THE REPAIR FOR THIS RUNS UPWARD OF $600 FOR AN ADMITTED FAULTY PART. CAN THE DOT AT LEAST LOOK INTO THIS AND CONSIDER RECTIFYING THIS SITUATION? I AM HAVING A HARD TIME BELIEVING THAT A COMPANY COULD JUST OVERLOOK THIS PROBLEM AND SIMPLY GET AWAY WITH IT. PLEASE HELP US WHO ARE HAVING A HARD ENOUGH TIME MAKING ENDS MEET EVERY MONTH SINCE THIS ECONOMIC DOWNTURN BEGAN AND ARE LOOKING AT UNEXPECTED VEHICLE FAILURES THAT ARE BLATANTLY A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT (EVEN ADMITTED TO) BUT NOT COVERED BY SOME WEIRD ECONOMIC CHOICE. IF I'D THOUGHT I'D BE GOING THROUGH THIS, I WOULD'VE BOUGHT BOTH SMALLER AND FROM ANOTHER MANUFACTURER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL SHOP PRIOR TO THE FAILURE WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE DISMANTLED IN ORDER TO DETERMINE THE EXACT FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 105,000.
I OWN A 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER AND I HAVE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE HEAT STAYING CONSISTENT (DOES NOT BLOW HOT AIR WHEN IDLE) AS WELL A VIBRATION WHEN DRIVING AT CERTAIN SPEEDS. I ALSO BEGIN TO NOTICE THAT TRANSMISSION BEGAN TO SLIP. I WOULD STOP AT A RED LIGHT AND GO TO TAKE OFF AND WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO PICK UP SPEED WHICH CAN BE DANGEROUS WHEN ENTERING THE HIGHWAY. I RESEARCHED THIS ONLINE AND FOUND MANY OTHERS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS. I TOOK THE TRUCK TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME EXACTLY WHAT I ALREADY KNEW, THE RADIATOR WAS NOW NO GOOD AND LEAKING ANTIFREEZE INTO THE TRANSMISSION WHICH HAS CAUSED BOTH OF THEM TO BE RUINED AND THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME 5K TO REPLACE. I ASKED IF THE DEALERSHIP HAS SEEN THIS BEFORE AND IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT SEVERAL OF THE SAME VEHICLES HAVE BEEN IN FOR THIS VERY REASON. HE ADVISED THAT NISSAN HAS NOT PAID FOR THESE SERVICES AS THE VEHICLES ARE ALWAYS OUT OF WARRANTY ON THE RADIATOR. I STILL HAVE 2000 MILES LEFT ON MY POWERTRAIN AND ADVISED THAT I WOULD BE CONTACTING NISSAN FOR "GOODWILL" ASSISTANCE. NISSAN FINALLY CONTACTED ME AND ADVISED THAT SINCE THE PROBLEM WAS INITIALLY CAUSED BY THE RADIATOR, THEY WOULD NOT HONOR THE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY. THEY ALSO ADVISED ME THAT SINCE I WAS NOT CONSIDERED "LOYAL" TO NISSAN AS THIS IS MY FIRST VEHICLE WITH THEM THEY COULD NOT HELP ME. I DO THINK IT IS FAIR TO HOLD THE CONSUMER RESPONSIBLE FOR FIXING THE TRANSMISSION AS CLEARLY THE RADIATOR IS DEFECTIVE AND THE PROBLEM DOESN'T BEGIN UNTIL AFTER IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY. I CANNOT AFFORD TO PAY 5K FOR THE TRANSMISSION AND I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO. IF THIS WAS A RARE CASE OR CAUSED BY THE CONSUMER THEN, YES WE SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE BUT THIS IS CLEARLY A DEFECT AS ALL NISSAN DEALERSHIPS ARE AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM. WHILE DRIVING OUR 2005 PATHFINDER ON THE HWY I NOTICED SMOKE ( A LOT)COMING FROM THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE. I AM GETTING OBDII CODES (P0463) AND "CHECK ENGINE" SIGN IS ON EVEN AFTER RESET. ONCE MY FUEL TANK IS LESS THAN 3/4 AND I REFILL IT AFTER IT WAS CLOSE TO BE EMPTY I AM GETTING "CHECK ENGINE" SIGN ON PROBLEM. I KNOW THAT IT IS RELATED TO A FUEL TANK LEVEL GAUGE. ANY REPAIRS WOULD BE AT THE OWNERS EXPENSE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 39,000 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 37,000.

IN DEC. '09, NOTICED REAR END VIBRATION AND CLINKING SOUND. THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. PURE COINCIDENCE-BROUGHT IT TO DEALER FOR COOLANT FLUSH WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS TRANS FLUID IN MY RADIATOR. CALLED MY TRANS REPAIR PEOPLE (NOT NISSAN). THEY WERE AWARE OF PROBLEM. TOLD ME THAT RADIATORS IN PATHFINDER 2005'S WERE DEFECTIVE. COOLANT LEAKED THROUGH ONE OF RADIATOR TRANS COOLERS, INTO TRANS. AND TRANS FLUID LEAKED BACK INTO RADIATOR, RENDERING BOTH IRREPARABLE. NEEDED NEW TRANS AND RADIATOR. TOLD DEALER AND NISSAN. THROUGH SEVERAL PHONE CALLS/NEGOTIATIONS,, NISSAN AGREED TO DO THE $5,000-7000 REPAIR FOR DEALER LABOR CHARGE OF $450. TOLD ME I WOULD GET MONEY BACK IF THERE WAS A RECALL. DEALER DID REPAIR. THE PROBLEM IS ALSO A SAFETY ISSUE, BECAUSE RADIATOR AND/OR TRANS CAN FAIL WHILE ON THE ROAD. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE REGARDING THE REPAIRS SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN OUTSIDE REPAIR SHOP INSTEAD OF AN AUTHORIZED DEALER. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 83,000.
