PURCHASED VEHICLE IN 2005. IN 2017 TOOK TO DEALERSHIP WITH PROBLEM OF LOSS OF POWER TO TRANSMISSION ON FREEWAY WHILE MY DAUGHTER NEEDED TO PULL OVER DUE TO PROBLEM. PROBLEM OF NOISE IN ENGINE TIMING BELT WAS ALSO TOLD OF AT DEALERSHIP. WITH EXTENDED WARRANTY OF 10YRS./100,000MI. THEY SAID THEY WERE NOT LIABLE & NEEDED $6971.28 TO REPAIR. VEHICLE HAD 80,825 MILES ON IT BUT WAS TWO YEARS OUT OF COVERAGE. AFTER FINDING OUT IN 2013 A LAWSUIT WAS FILED BY MENDELSOHN AND MAZIE SLATER KATZ & FREEMAN FOR KNOWN DEFECT TO NISSAN, PROBLEM WAS NEVER CONTACTED TO ME FOR SOME REASON? WAS JUST INFORMED BY FALCO V. NISSAN NOTICE ADMINISTRATOR TO FILE PAPERWORK ON KNOWN PROBLEM WITH ENGINE TIMING BELT FOR POSSIBLE 20% RETURN OF PAYMENT MADE TO REPAIR OF DEFECTIVE TENSIONER ASSEMBLY. WHY FOUR YEARS AGO WAS I NOT INFORMED OF RADIATOR LEAK CAUSING POSSIBLE DAMAGE TO VEHICLE & POSSIBLE INJURY TO DRIVER?
WILL NOT GO OVER 30MPH...RUNS AND IDLES FINE BUT CUTS OUT AND BUCKS AROUND AT 1500 RPM ... WILL NOT COME OUT OF LIMP MODE
THE RADIATOR CRACKED WHERE THE TRANSMISSION LINE RUNS THROUGH IT. THIS CAUSED THE TRANNY FLUID AND COOLANT TO MIX AND RUIN THE TRANSMISSION. I NOTICED A SEVERE VIBRATION AT 40-60 MPH WHICH ALMOST CAUSED ME TO GET INTO AN ACCIDENT. THESE ARE VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE ON THE HIGHWAY WITH THIS ISSUE AND MAY LEAD TO SEVERE ACCIDENTS. THE RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION SHOULD BE RECALLED.
THE COOLANT LEAKED INTO THE TRANSMISSION, DESTROYING MY TRANSMISSION. THE LEAK WAS CAUSED BY A DEFECT IN THE RADIATOR. THE VEHICLE STARTED SHIFTING HARD AND SEVERAL TIMES THE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE I DRIVING DOWN THE THE HIGHWAY.
ON 2-4-2017 MY TIMING CHAIN SYSTEM BEGAN MAKING A LOUD RADDLING NOISE
THE VEHICLE WAS MAKING A HIGH-PITCHED NOISE DURING ACCELERATION @ APPRX. 2000 RPMS. ADDITIONALLY, I HAD RECENTLY NOTICED SLUGGISH AND UNEVEN ACCELERATION. UPON TAKING IT TO THE DEALER, I WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE INNER TIMING CHAIN AND TENSION GUIDE/SHOE, A WORN DRIVE BELT AND DRIVE BELT TENSIONER, AND A STUCK FAN BELT CLUTCH. IN ADDITION, I WAS TOLD THAT THERE IS ALSO POTENTIAL DAMAGE TO THE INNER TIMING COVER. NISSAN IS AWARE THAT THERE IS A DEFECT WITH THE TIMING CHAIN AND TENSION GUIDE/SHOE. THE DEFECT COULD CAUSE THE TIMING CHAINS TO SLIP - WHICH WOULD LEAD TO IMMEDIATE ENGINE DAMAGE - AND CREATE A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS SITUATION IN TRAFFIC. IN ADDITION, THE FAULTY PART COULD CAUSE OTHER ENGINE ISSUES (LIKE THE ONES REPORTED).
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL ACTIVATED, THE RPMS ACCELERATED AND THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART ON THE FIRST ATTEMPT, BUT THE GEARS FAILED TO SHIFT. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED HOME. IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS FLOODED WITH WATER AND THE RADIATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE RADIATOR WAS REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 179,000.
TAKATA RECALL
RADIATOR COOLANT LEAKED INTO THE TRANSMISSION RENDERING USELESS. CORRODED AND DESTROYED WHOLE INTERIOR OF TRANSMISSION .
AT ALMOST 70,000 MILES, I STARTED GETTING A VIBRATION WHEN ACCELERATING AT OR ABOVE 40 MPH. I WAS TOLD BY THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP THAT IT WAS COOLANT INTERMIXED IN THE RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION AND THEY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF $6800. NISSAN KNEW ABOUT THIS PROBLEM BACK IN 2007 AND DIDN'T NOTIFY OWNERS. NOT HAPPY!
I WAS STRANDED IN A PARKING LOT BECAUSE MY CAR WOULD NOT START. AFTER HAVING IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP, I FIND OUT IT IS THE "INTERMIX" BETWEEN THE RADIATOR AND THE TRANSMISSION. I NEVER RECEIVED ANY INFORMATION ABOUT THIS FROM NISSAN, BUT NOW UNDERSTAND IT WAS A KNOWN AND FREQUENT FAILURE - BY DESIGN. ESSENTIALLY, AFTER 90,000 MILE, THE CAR IS WORTHLESS BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE. AFTER PAYING $5,000 FOR THE REPAIR, I DROVE OFF THE LOT ONLY TO HAVE MY FUEL PUMP FAIL. LITERALLY, I DROVE OFF THE LOT AND THE ENGINE BEGAN MISFIRING. UNBELIEVABLE. *TR
STARTED LOOSING SPEED WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE WITH MY DAUGHTER IN THE SUV WITH ME, SO SCARY. BUT I MANAGED TO COAST TO THE NEAREST EXIT ROLL IN TIME FOR IT TO GET TO 0 ON ODOMETER. THEN HAD IT TOWED TO MY HOME. FEW DAYS LATER TOOK TO TWO DIFFERENT AUTO REPAIR SHOPS(TOWED TO 2ND SHOP BECAUSE SUV WOULD NOT GO PASS 20 AND IT WOULD JUST STOP ONCE DOWN TO 0)WHO INFORMED ME THERE WERE TRANSMISSION ISSUES, FINAL SHOP SAID THE RADIATOR RUPTURED CAUSING WATER, TRANSMISSION FLUIDS, AND ETC TO ALL MIX WHICH HAS CAUSED TRANSMISSION TO GO BAD MY OPTIONS ARE TO REBUILD, BUT ANOTHER TRANSMISSION OR LET THE SUV GO..UPONGOOGLING TO SEE IF OTHERS HAVE OR HAD THIS PROBLEMS I'M TOTALLY NOT ALONE AND YES I'M PASS THE 50,000 N 100,000 RANGE HOWEVER I STILL THINK SOME ETCHING SHOULDBE DONE, BEING I TOOK N TRACE VERY GD CARE IF MY SUV ONLY ALLOWING NISSAN TO REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE MY SUV. I WAS TOLD TO REPAIR THIS WILL COST ME 3900 PLUS. I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY ANY TO BE HONEST BUT DONE TYPE IF HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED FOR NOT ONLY ME BUT EVERYONE EXPERIENCING THIS ISSUE. *TR
DRIVING AND CAME TO A LIGHT AND THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE FORWARD OR REVERSE.
FUEL GAUGE IS FAULTY. FUEL LEVEL WILL READ 1/2 FULL AND YET APPROACH EMPTY. THE VEHICLE HAS RUN OUT OF GAS FOUR TIMES, PUTTING THE DRIVER AND OCCUPANTS IN A DANGEROUS POSITION.
TAKATA RECALL I HAVE COOLENT IN MY TRANSMISSION DUE TO RADIATOR FAILURE CAUSING MY TRANSMISSION TO SLIP CAUSING MY CAR TO CRASH INTO MY HOUSE IN MY CARPORT THE REPAIR FOR THE TRANSMISSION IS $3800 AND I'M ON A FIX INCOME
2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER 92,000 , VEHICLE WON'T START AND HAD IT TOWED, WAS TOLD IT WAS DUE TO THE RADIATOR LEAKING INTO THE TRANSMISSION. AFTER HAVING SPENT $800 @ VADAN NISSAN, BECAUSE MY CAR WOULD JERKS AND STOP WHILST DRIVING, WAS TOLD IT WAS A COIL PROBLEM, AND A SENSOR ISSUE, NOTHING WAS EVER SAID TO ME ABOUT THIS HUGE PROBLEM THE 2005 TO 2010 PATHFINDERS ARE HAVING, TOTALLY DISGUSTED WITH NISSAN.
I TOOK MY 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER INTO THE SHOP BECAUSE IT WAS HAVING TROUBLE SHIFTING GEARS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. I LATER LEARNED THE BAD NEWS THAT THE HOSES IN THE RADIATOR HAVE FAILED CAUSING COOLANT TO CROSS CONTAMINATE AND MIX WITH TRANSMISSION FLUID PRODUCING A TOXIC SLUDGE THAT RUINS THE RADIATOR AS WELL AS THE TRANSMISSION. I WAS TOLD THAT $4,000 LATER I WOULD NEED A NEW RADIATOR, NEW TRANSMISSION AND NEW HOSES. THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN ALSO TOLD ME THAT THIS PROBLEM IS VERY COMMON IN 05-06 PATHFINDERS. AFTER GOING HOME A QUICK GOOGLE SEARCH REVEALED THAT TENS OF THOUSANDS OF CARS HAVE ACTUALLY DEALTH WITH THIS PROBLEM AND THERE WAS A LAWSUIT BROUGHT AGAINST NISSAN FOR THESE PROBLEMS. UNFORTUNATELY I NEVER KNEW OF SUCH A LAWSUIT AND NOW THAT I HAVE THE VERY PROBLEM IT'S TOO LATE TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. THAT TYPE OF SERVICE BY COMPANIES FOR SELLING FAULTY PRODUCTS TO THEIR CONSUMERS IS REALLY TOO SAD.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER. WHILE DRIVING IN A PARKING LOT AT 5 MPH, THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAGS AND THE THIRD ROW SIDE CURTAIN AIR BAGS INADVERTENTLY DEPLOYED WITHOUT WARNING. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 144,000.
TRANSMISSION FAILURE ON INTERSTATE HAD TO BE TOWED HOME 50 MILES
I HAVE PROBLEMS WITH CATALIC CONVERTER
TRANSMISSION SHUTTERS REPEATEDLY WHILE PICKING UP SPEED. IT IS INCREASINGLY GETTING WORSE. NOW, ONCE THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN DRIVING AWHILE- THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS HARD AND DOESN'T WANT TO GO PAST 20 MPH ONCE YOU STOP AND THEN GO AGAIN. IT SOUNDS LIKE I AM IN NEUTRAL WHILE TRYING TO ACCELERATE. ONCE IT COOLS, THE PROCESS STARTS OVER.
8/31/2016 - CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON DURING NORMAL DRIVING, I BROUGHT IT TO MY LOCAL MECHANIC FOR INSPECTION WHICH SHOWED THE TRANSMISSION HAS FAILED. THIS IS DUE TO THE RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION INTERMIX PROBLEM IS HOW NISSAN NOTES IT AND VALIDATED BY MY CALL TO THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALER. THE CAR IS OUTSIDE THE NISSAN EXTENDED WARRANTY PERIOD FOR THIS ISSUE WHICH IS 10 YEARS BUT WELL UNDER THE 100,000 MILES AS IT HAS 80K MILES AT TIME OF EVENT. NISSAN IS UNABLE TO OFFER ANY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE SO THE OUT OF POCKET COST TO REPAIR ($5-$6K) MAKES IT NOT WORTH THE REPAIR SO I'M STUCK WITH A CAR THAT TO DATE I HAVE MAINTAINED VERY WELL. THERE WAS NOT WARNING SIGNS AND I AM SURE THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR SOME TIME AS IT DOES NOT HAPPEN OVERNIGHT. VERY DISAPPOINTING THAT NISSAN DOES NOT TAKE OWNERSHIP OF THE PROBLEM THAT HAS PLAGUED HUNDREDS OF NISSAN PATHFINDER OWNERS.
TRANSMISSION FAILURE
PATHFINDER 2005 HAS ONLY 73,000 MILES AND NOW HAS A PROBLEM OF CROSS CONTAMINATION BETWEEN TRANSMISSION AND RADIATOR FLUIDS. REQUIRES REPLACEMENT OF TRANSMISSION. VERY EXPENSIVE - REQUIRES TO REPLACE TRANSMISSION AND WASH RADIATOR. TRANSMISSION DOES NOT SHIFT PROPERLY. PROBLEM CONFIRMED BY THE DEALER SHOP AS WELL AS AM INDEPENDENT CAR SHOP.
I NEEDED TO CHANGE ALL SENSORS BECAUSE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND THE DVD AND SLIP LIGHT STAYED ON.NOW IT WILL NOT START ALL THE TIME AND IF IT DOES IT WILL DIE IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC.IT HAD TO BE TOWED TO DEALER.
VEHICLE WOULD BARELY PULL OUT IN DRIVE, JUST STOPPED PULLING. CHECKED FLUID IN TRANSMISSION AND ITS A MILKY COLOR. RADIATOR COOLANT IS MILKY BROWN.
PURCHASED A USED 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER. HAD THE VEHICLE ABOUT 2 YEARS. DRIVING HOME ONE DAY THE VEHICLE STARTED TO LOOSE POWER AS THE RPM'S STARTED TO SPIKE. WE HAD TO PULL OFF THE ROAD IN A VERY UNSAFE SPOT BECAUSE THE CAR COULD NO LONGER MOVE. THERE WERE NO WARNING SIGNS OF THE TRANSMISSION FAILING. WE HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED. WITH A QUICK GLANCE INTO THE COOLANT TANK, SEEMS TO HAVE A MIXTURE OF COOLANT AND TRANSMISSION FLUID. REPAIR COST ARE ESTIMATED FROM 2500 - 5,000+. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT THIS PROBLEM.
OUR 2005 PATHFINDER LOST ALL POWER WHILE DRIVING ON A LOCAL HIGHWAY IN OUR TOWN TO TAKE OUR DAUGHTER TO SCHOOL. IT HAS AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION AND WOULD NOT CHANGE OUT OF FIRST GEAR. WE LIVE UP ON A SLIGHT HILL, AND IT HONESTLY FELT LIKE I WAS PULLING A SEMI BEHIND MY VEHICLE JUST TO GET IT BACK HOME WITHOUT REQUIRING A TOW. NEEDLESS TO SAY WE HAD TO KEEP BOTH OF OUR CHILDREN HOME FROM SCHOOL THAT DAY BECAUSE THIS IS THE ONLY VEHICLE WE OWN. IT ANGERS ME THAT NISSAN REFUSES TO MAKE A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE!! THIS TRANSMISSION ISSUE HAS CAUSED US TO BE WITHOUT A VEHICLE FOR ALMOST A MONTH NOW!! IT'S NOT ALWAYS EASY TO FIND PEOPLE THAT ARE WILLING TO HELP YOU OUT LONG TERM!! THIS IS A HUGE INCONVENIENCE TO OUR FAMILY, & WE DON'T HAVE THE MONEY TO PAY OUT OF POCKET TO GET THIS FIXED. A LOCAL MECHANIC NEAR WHERE WE LIVE SAID HE HAS SEEN THIS ISSUE TONS OF TIMES, AND HAS FIXED NUMEROUS AMOUNTS OF NISSAN VEHICLES DUE TO THE CRACK THAT CAUSES THE ANTIFREEZE & TRANSMISSION FLUIDS TO COMBINE AND MESS UP EVERYTHING IN THE TRANSMISSION OVER TIME. WITH THIS BEING AN ISSUE ON NISSAN'S PART, I FEEL THAT THEY SHOULD PAY TO HAVE THE PROBLEM RESOLVED!!! MY HUSBAND IS OUT OF WORK DUE TO AN INJURY AND WILL BE OUT FOR AN UNDETERMINED AMOUNT OF TIME. I WORK PART TIME AT A LOCAL BBQ RESTAURANT IN OUR TOWN, AND DON'T BRING HOME VERY MUCH EACH WEEK. I PRAY THE CORPORATION WILL DO THE RIGHT THING AND FINALLY RECALL ALL THE VEHICLES AFFECTED BY THIS. $3500 DOLLARS IS THE BEST WE CAN FIND & WHEN IT GETS FIXED, THE PERSON WE HAVE SPOKE WITH SAID THEY WILL BYPASS THE RADIATOR WHEN THE TRANSMISSION GETS REINSTALLED MAKING SURE WE NEVER HAVE THIS PROBLEM EVER AGAIN!!!! SADLY WE DON'T HAVE THE MONEY FOR THE REPAIRS OR I WOULD NOT BE MAKING THIS COMPLAINT. IF ANYONE KNOWS OF ANY INFORMATION THAT I DON'T KNOW OF PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!! WHILE PULLING ONTO A BUSY HIGHWAY MY TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTIONED AND GEARS WOULDN'T SHIFT PROPERLY. I BARELY AVOIDED AN ACCIDENT. WE CONTACTED OUR LOCAL DEALERSHIP & TRANSMISSION SHOPS TO FIND OUT THAT TONS OF OTHER PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. THE RADIATOR HOSE/CONNECTION GETS LEAK & RADIATOR FLUID IS SENT INTO TRANSMISSION WHICH CORRODED GEARS MAKING THE TRANSMISSION SLIP OR NOT FUNCTION. WE HAVE SPOKEN TO NISSAN USA THEMSELVES AND GOT NO WHERE. I'M DISGUSTEDED THAT THIS IS NOT A RECALL AND PEOPLE AREN'T BEING NOTIFIED OF THIS ISSUE IN 2005-2010 PATHFINDER, FRONTIER, &XTERRA. I HAVE ALSO HAD THE FRONTIER. NEVER ONCE WAS I TOLD THAT AFTER OR BEFORE MY WARRANTY WENT OUT THAT THIS SPECIFIC PART WOULD MALFUNCTION. I'M CONTINUALLY TOLD IT'S MY FAULT FOR NOT GETTING EXTENDED WARRANTY. I DID HAVE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY, BUT THE ISSUE AT HAND IS ONE SPECIFIC MALFUNCTIONING PART NOT THE AGE OR WARRANTY OF MY VEHICLE. THIS IS COMPLETE DISREGARD FOR HUMAN LIFE AND THEY SAID "SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE." WE ALSO CAN'T BE INCLUDED IN THE CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT BECAUSE WE ARE OUT OF WARRANTY. I REALLY FAIL TO SEE WHY THIS IS NOT A RECALL INSTEAD OF WARRANTY. DO RESEARCH AND FIND THAT NOT ONLY IN MY AREA BUT ALL OVER THE USA PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME EXACT MALFUNCTION OF THE SAME EXACT PART.. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL BECAUSE I WOULDN'T HAVE SPENT $5000 EXTRA FOR AN EXTENDED WARRANTY IF THIS WOULD HAPPEN NO MATTER WHAT..

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. CAR DIED ON ME THIS MORNING! MECHANIC SAID TRANSMISSION AS WELL AS RADIATOR. PLUS COOLANT AND TRANNY FLUID LEAKED INTO EACH OTHER. SOMETHING THAT LOOKS LIKE LAWSUITS AND MANY OTHERS HAVE COMPLAINED ON. DEALERSHIP WONT FIX IT!

AT 96635 MILES MY OIL LIGHT WAS COMING ON WHEN THE CAR WAS NOT IN MOTION. NISSAN TOLD ME MY CAR NEEDS TO HAVE ITS TIMING CHAIN REPLACED WHICH BTW SUPPOSED TO LAST LIFE OF ENGINE. I'VE READ NISSAN KNEW ABOUT DEFECTIVE PARTS AND WAS NOT HONORABLE IN DOING A RECALL. WHATS THE POINT OF SWITCHING FROM TIMING BELT TO TIMING CHAIN IF I NEED TO CHANGE IT AT THE SAME APPROXIMATE MILEAGE. ITS COSTING ME $3000.00 TO GET IT FIXED.
FAULTY FUEL GAUGE SENSOR: DTE GAUGE DOES NOT RESET. ENGINE CHECK LIGHT
CONTAMINATION OF TRANSMISSION FLUID ON 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER. COLOR OF COOLANT IS PURPLE AND CLOUDY IN OVERFLOW AND RADIATOR. TRANSMISSION HAS STARTED SHUTTERING BETWEEN 35 - 45 MPH. SYMPTOMS BEGAN AT 130K MILES.
COOLANT AND TRANSMISSION FLUID ARE MIXING! THE TRANSMISSION IS STARTING TO SKIP AND THE COOLANT IS MILKY/ CREAMY LOOKING AND I ADDED 3 QUARTS TRANSMISSION FLUID 7DAYS AGO AND NOW HAVE TO ADD MORE. THE COOLANT IS BEING PUSHED OUT OF THE OVERFLOW DO TO THE TRANSMISSION FLUID AND COOLANT MIXING TOGETHER.
WE BOUGHT THIS SUV BACK IN 2005 FROM MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALER. THERE HAVE BEEN OTHER ISSUES LIKE A FAULTY PEDAL WHICH BACK ON THAT DATE WHEN IT FAILED, IT ALMOST MADE ME CRASH. THEY DID FIX THAT PROBLEM AT MY EXPENSE SINCE THEY STATED I WAS NOT COVERED BY THE WARRANTY. NOW, MY CAR IS 10 YEARS OLD WITH 90K MILES AND THE TRANSMISSION JUST DIED WHILE DRIVING TO MY RELATIVES WEDDING. I DID THE REGULAR TRANS FLUID SERVICE AND A FEW HOURS LATER THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. I TOOK IT BACK TO NISSAN TO GET IT CHECKED. THEY WANT ME TO PAY OVER $5,000.00 FOR A NEW TRANSMISSION. I ASKED THEM WHY THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AT ONLY 90K MILES. THEY DID NOT GIVE ME ANY SPECIFIC EXPLANATION AS TO WHY THIS HAPPENED. THEY ONLY STATED THAT "THIS TYPE OF PATHFINDERS HAVE HAD A LOT OF PROBLEMS" AND THAT WAS IT. I ASKED IF THERE WAS ANY RECALL REGARDING THIS ISSUE, THE GUY SAID NO. I AM LEFT WITH NO OTHER CHOICE THAN TO PAY THE 5 GRAND TO GET MY CAR FIXED. THEY SHOULD NOT BE SELLING FAULTY CARS TO CONSUMERS!!! I WILL NEVER BUY A NISSAN VEHICLE EVER AGAIN!
WHILE DRIVING MY 2005 NISSAN PATHFINDER OFF ROAD ON APRIL30TH 2016, THE VEHICLE ABRUPTLY STALLED AND SHUT DOWN ON THE HIGHWAY, WHILE I WAS DRIVING WITH MY YOUNG CHILDREN IN THE VEHICLE. THIS WAS AN EXTREME DANGEROUS LIFE THREATING SCARY SITUATION FOR MY CHILDREN ANY MYSELF. CONSEQUENTLY, I WAS FORCED TO GET HE VEHICLE TOWED AND WAS INFORMED BY THE MECHANIC, THE TRANSMISSION HAS FAILED AND NO LONGER IS OPERATIVE, EVEN THOUGH THE TRANSMISSION HAS AND CONTINUED TO BE PROPERLY MAINTAINED PRIOR TO THE TRANSMISSION FAILING INCIDENT ON APRIL 30TH, 2016.
I TAKE MY CAR IN TO NISSIAN REGULARLY AND TAKE VERY GOOD CARE OF IT AND DOESN'T HAVE THAT MANY MILES ON IN FOR HOW LONG I HAVE OWNED IT. I HAVE BEEN THE ONLY OWNER. JUST HAD IT SERVICED IN FEBUARY, ALL WAS PERFECT. IT STARTED MAKING A AWFUL WHEN I G NOISE WHEN YOU STEP ON THE GAS PEDAL, TURNS OUT THE TIMING CHAIN IS OUT AND THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL FOR SOME NISSIAN CARS FOR THIS NOT ALL. I CALLED NISSIAN CORP AND THEY SAID SINCE I HAVE NO WARRANTY THEY WERE NOT GOING TO HELP, EVEN THOUGH YOU GUYS HAVE ISSUED A SAFETY WARNING (NDTB07-042). THERE ALSO IS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST NISSIAN FOR THIS SAME PROBLEM. IT SHOULD BE A RECALL FOR ALL NISSIAN. CARS/TRUCKS.
VEHICLE HAS SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT GEARS PROPERLY WHILE IN TRAFFIC AND OCCUR SPORADICALLY. DIAGNOSTIC CODE REVEALED P1754 A KNOWN ISSUE WITH TRANSMISSION AND RADIATOR.
WATER IN TRANSMISSION OIL DUE TO BAD TRANS COOLER WICH IS A KNOWN PROBLEM W/ THESE VEHICLES BY NISSAN BUT WAS NEVER RECALLED.
THE DREADED COOLANT LEAKAGE FROM A FAULTY OIL COOLER CAUSES FAILURE OF TRANSMISSION AND RADIATOR.
I PURCHASED A USED 2005 WITH APPRX 134,000 MILES. I RETURNED THE VEHICLE THE FOLLOWING MONDAY FOR A CRACKED RADIATOR. THE RADIATOR WAS REPLACED. THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO HAVE SHIFTING ISSUES. 3 WEEKS LATER IT WAS GIVEN A DIAGNOSIS FROM A CERTIFIED NISSAN SERVICE SHOP AS "NEEDING TRANSMISSION REPLACES AS A RESULT OF COOLANT LEAKING INTO THE TRANSMISSION FROM CRACK RADIATOR" I WAS ESTIMATED OVER $7000 WORTH OF REPAIRS BECAUSE OF THE RADIATOR CRACKING AND LEAKING COOLANT.
2005 PATHFINDER DRIVES GREAT AT LOWER SPEEDS, BUT OCCASIONALLY SOUNDS AND FEELS LIKE I'M GOING OVER RUMBLE STRIPS AT SPEEDS HIGHER THAN 40 MPH. TOOK IT TO NISSAN AND WAS TOLD THAT WE HAVE THE WELL KNOWN ISSUE WHERE THE RADIATOR CRACKS AND LEAKS INTO THE TRANSMISSION, RUINING BOTH. THE CAR HAS 95,000 MILES ON IT AND NISSAN WILL DO NOTHING TO HELP. THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP WANTED $6,500 TO FIX. NOW I'M READING THAT THIS COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED WITH A WORK AROUND. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECALLED, OR AT THE VERY LEAST, INFORMATION GIVEN ABOUT THE WORK AROUND TO FIX PRIOR TO THE TRANS GOING OUT.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 117,000.

ECM REPLACED UNDER RECALL. RADIATOR/TRANSMISSION REPLACED @ 96K MILES UNDER "EXTENDED WARRANTY." TRANSMISSION REPLACED 2ND TIME 1 YEAR LATER. TRANSMISSION HOSES REPLACED TWICE (DURING SAME TIME PERIOD). NOW - 103K MILES - CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON: VIAS SOLENOID VALVE, BANK 2 CATALYTIC CONVERTER, & OIL PRESSURE SENSOR SWITCH ALL NEED REPLACED (POSSIBLY RELATED TO ECM RELAY ISSUE)
TRANSMISSION FAILED. DESIGN ALSO CAUSED NEED FOR NEW RADIATOR.
