TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE SPARE TIRE LOCATED ON THE REAR LIFTGATE WAS DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE. AFTER INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE RETAINING CLIP WAS FRACTURED ON THE TIRE CARRIER DUE TO A SMALL CRACK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTICS WHERE THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE RETAINING CLIP WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT OBTAINED THE RETAINING CLIP AND REPLACED THE PART HIMSELF. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 66,000.
MY 2008 NISSAN PATHFINDER ABS BRAKE SYSTEM IS FAILING 4 MONTHS AFTER WARRANTY EXPIRED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE ABS ACTUATOR IS BAD. I WAS STRANDED ON A HIGHWAY AFTER MY BRAKES LOCKED UP ON A RAINY DAY. *TR
PREVIOUS TO THIS, I HAD RECEIVED A NOTIFICATION FOR A "RECALL" ON MY TRUCK WHICH WAS TAKEN TO THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENT TO CORRECT. ON FEBRUARY 5TH 2011 I TOOK MY 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDER FOR ENGINE LIGHT GOING ON. THEY TOLD ME MY TRUCK WAS UNDER WARRANTY. I AM UNDER THE ALLOWED MILEAGE AND MY TRUCK IS TO BE RETURNED ON JUNE 1ST 2011. I WAS CHARGED A WHOPPING $581.26 FOR A PIECE THAT ONLY COST $41.79. I HAD ALSO PUT DOWN ON THIS VEHICLE AT TIME OF LEASE $4,517.00. CONSIDERING THIS CAR HAD A RECALL, AND ENGINE LIGHT WENT ON AFTER, I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO HAD PAY THIS AMOUNT. I WILL NEVER LEASE FROM THEM AGAIN. I FEEL I WAS RIPPED OFF AND I SHOULD BE REIMBURSED MY $581.26. I KEPT COPIES OF ALL FOR LEGAL PURPOSES. PLEASE HELP RESOLVE THIS MATTER. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 NISSAN PATHFINDER. WHILE STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED AND CRASHED INTO THE REAR BUMPER OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED HE WAS APPLYING PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL BUT THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED HE WOULD HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED A REPORT COULD BE FILED BUT THE CONTACT DECIDED TO DO THAT AT LATER TIME. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
COOPER TIRE - DISCOVER CTS - MANUFACTURED 4209 - AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, HEARD A LOUD SOUND LIKE A SHOTGUN - AND TIRE LOST AIR. SIDEWALL OF TIRE APPEARS AS THOUGH IT WAS SLICED WITH A KNIFE. THERE WAS NO POTHOLE IN THE ROAD OR OTHER VISIBLE DEFECT THAT WOULD CAUSE THE TIRE TO RIP. *TR
DRIVING A 2008 NISSAN PATHFINDER (OWNED SINCE NEW) DOWN A 4 LANE HIGHWAY AT APPROX 45 MPH. A PICKUP TRUCK TURNED IN FRONT OF MY WIFE AND SHE HIT IT BROADSIDE AT APPROX 35MPH. ON A REGULAR MORNING OF COMMUTING MY CHILDREN TO THEIR SCHOOL, SUDDENLY MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED, AND MY GAS GAUGE IMMEDIATELY WENT TO EMPTY WITH GAS LIGHT ON, I KNEW I HAD GAS IN THE VEHICLE, SO I DIDN'T WORRY RIGHT OFFLATER I DID STOP AT A LOCAL MECHANICS SHOP AND LET THEM PERFORM A DIAGNOSTICS TEST ON THE VEHICLE AND WAS QUOTED THAT THE FUEL SENSOR NEEDED REPLACING. I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH NISSAN FILE#[XXX] AND WAS TOLD THAT MY VEHICLE WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL, I ALSO CALLED A LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND THEY CONFIRMED WHAT I WAS TOLD ABOUT NOT BEING A PART OF THE RECALL, BUT I WAS ALSO TOLD TO JUST BRING THE VEHICLE IN FOR DIAGNOSTICS WHICH COST 100.00 DOLLARS AND IS ALOT OF MONEY FOR A SINGLE MOTHER OF FIVE WHO WAS RECENTLY LAID OFF, HE ALSO STATED THERE WAS AN EXTENSION ON THE RECALL MILES UP TO 75000, I AM JUST A BASKET CASE RIGHT NOW SINCE ITS TIME FOR TAG RENEWAL PLUS IM UNEMPLOYED PLUS CAR NOTE PLUS INSURANCE, AND NO REPAIRS............... I WAS IN A HEAD ON COLLISION ON 8/16/10 IN MY 2008 NISSAN PATHFINDER TRAVELING 60 MPH AND MY AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. *TR
PATHFINDER VEHICLES. THE MOLDED FUEL TANK SHELLS CAN DEFORM, CAUSING THE FUEL SENDER FLOAT ARM TO CONTACT AN EMBOSSMENT MOLDED INTO THE TANK SHELL CAUSING THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FUEL GAUGE TO SHOW THAT THE VEHICLE HAS APPROXIMATELY ONE QUARTER TANK WHEN THE FUEL TANK IS EMPTY. I HAVE STALLED IN TRAFFIC THREE TIMES . THE VEHICLE LOSES ALL CONTROL OF POWER STEERING, POWER BRAKES AND CEASES TO MOVE SUDDENLY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION FOR MYSELF AND OTHER MOTOR VEHICLES. I HAVE RESEARCHES THIS COMMON PROBLEM WITH NISSAN AND FOUND NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON THIS EXACT SAME ISSUE. I CALLED NISSAN TO FILE A COMPLAINT AND THEY STATED THERE HAS BEEN NO RECALL ISSUED FOR THIS VERY DANGEROUS ISSUE. 2008 NISSAN PATHFINDER, FUEL SENDING UNIT IS DEFECTIVE, ERRATIC. MY VEHICLE IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL BUT IT THEY HAVE BUNCH OF COMPLAINED REGARDING THIS PART AND THERE'S A RECALL WITH THIS. *TR
NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 10V075000 FUEL SENDING UNIT FAILURE. INCIDENT OUTLINE: I WAS DRIVING ON THE 2 LANE PORTION OF THE TRANS-CANADA HIGHWAY #1 WEST OF CHILLIWACK AND HAD FUELED UP ABOUT TWO HOURS EARLIER. I WATCHED THE FUEL GAUGE, MPG AND DTE READINGS TO ROUGHLY ESTIMATE THE AMOUNT OF FUEL REMAINING AND THE RANGE TO BE EXPECTED FROM THE REMAINING FUEL, WHEN THE GAUGES WERE ACTUALLY WORKING FOR A BRIEF TIME. THE FUEL GAUGE HAD SEEMINGLY PROPERLY SHOWN THE DTE AND FUEL LEVEL BUT AT +/- 5/8 OF A TANK IT DROPPED TO ZERO AND THE DTE READINGS WENT FLAT LINE. THIS HAS BECOME A USUAL SITUATION WITH THE FUEL GAUGE ISSUE AND MY ESTIMATES WERE THAT I HAD SUFFICIENT FUEL TO REACH THE NEXT GAS STATION PULLOUT FROM THE FREEWAY BUT I WAS TERRIBLY WRONG. I WAS PULLING A TRAILER AND HAD MY WIFE, SON AND HIS FRIEND WITH ME RETURNING FROM A WEEKEND AT OUR CABIN. WE WERE TRAVELING @ +/- 60 MPH IN THE FAST LANE AS THERE WAS SLOWER TRAFFIC IN THE CURB LANE WHEN THE TRUCK?S ENGINE STOPPED, I WAS OUT OF FUEL! I QUICKLY ASSESSED THE OPTIONS, PUT MY RIGHT HAND TURN SIGNAL ON AND STARTING EASING INTO THE CURB LANE DISPLACING THE VEHICLE BESIDE ME. I WAS ABLE TO MANEUVER THE TRUCK INTO THE CURB LANE UNDER THE MOMENTUM IT HAD WITHOUT INCIDENT BUT NOT WITHOUT TREMENDOUS STRESS AND 2 NEAR MISSES WITH OTHER VEHICLES. EVENTUALLY I COASTED ONTO THE SHOULDER OF THE HIGHWAY AND CAME TO A STOP SAFELY WITHOUT POWER. IT WAS EXTREMELY CLOSE AND A SCENARIO I DO NOT WANT TO SEE PLAYED OUT AGAIN. NISSAN HAS DECLINED THIS REQUEST AND SHOWN MORAL CONTEMPT FOR A PROBLEM THAT I HAVE DEMONSTRATED THROUGH , TELEPHONE CONVERSATIONS, IMAGES AND TEXT. *TR
I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM NISSAN FOR MY 2008 PATHFINDER DUE TO A FAULTY FUEL GAUGE. ON SATURDAY 5/1/2010, I PRESENTED THE VEHICLE TO MAROONE NISSAN IN KENDALL FOR REPAIRS. AFTER 2 HOURS, THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO ME WITH A RECEIPT INDICATING THAT THE PROBLEM WAS FIXED. THERE WAS A STRONG GAS ODOR WHEN I STARTED THE CAR. I ASSUMED THAT THIS WAS PROBABLY NATURAL SINCE THE REPAIRS WERE RELATED TO THE FUEL SYSTEM. HOWEVER, LATER THAT DAY, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THIS WAS THE FIRST AND ONLY TIME THAT THIS LIGHT CAME ON SINCE I ACQUIRED THE VEHICLE IN APRIL 2008. I DECIDED THAT ON MONDAY MORNING I WILL RETURN THE VEHICLE TO NISSAN. HOWEVER, ON SUNDAY AROUND MIDDAY, MY SON TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE SERVICE STATION TO PURCHASE GAS. THE NEXT EVENT THAT HAPPENED WAS ALARMING. ALL THE GAS THAT MY SON ADDED TO THE VEHICLE LEAKED OUT ON THE GROUND. APPARENTLY, THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN SOMEHOW MANAGED TO CREATE A HOLE SOMEWHERE IN THE FUEL SYSTEM/GAS TANK. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED TO NISSAN FOR REPAIRS AND THE REPAIRS ARE EXPECTED TO OCCUR ON MONDAY 5/3/2010. THIS SITUATION COULD HAVE RESULTED IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT OR EVEN DEATH TO MY SON. I DO NOT KNOW WHETHER THE INDIVIDUAL WHO PERFORMED THE REPAIRS WAS A NISSAN TRAINED AND CERTIFIED TECHNICIAN OR NOT. HOWEVER, IT IS WORTHY OF NOTE THAT THERE IS A SERIOUS DEFICIENCY IN EXISTENCE AT THE NISSAN LOCATION. IT IS MY HOPE AND EXPECTATION THAT AN INVESTIGATION BE MADE INTO THE TYPE AND QUALIFICATIONS OF THE SERVICE PERSONNEL AND THE SERVICE ADVISOR AND THEIR BUSINESS PRACTICES AT THIS LOCATION. I AM CONVINCED THAT THESE INDIVIDUALS WERE FULLY AWARE THAT THEY WERE RETURNING TO ME A DEFECTIVE VEHICLE THAT COULD HAVE HAD CATASTROPHIC CONSEQUENCES. I SHOULD ALSO NOTE THAT I HAVE BEEN VERY DISSATISFIED WITH PREVIOUS SERVICE JOBS AT THIS LOCATION, AND HAVE ALWAYS ELECTED TO DRIVE APPROXIMATELY 30MILES TO THE PEMBROKE LOCATION ALTHOUGH THE KENDALL BRANCH IN ONLY ABOUT 6 MILES FROM HOME. *TR

WHILE TRAVELING 20 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL; A FEW SECONDS LATER, THE FUEL GAUGE NO LONGER FUNCTIONED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIP WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT RECALL 10V075000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE: STORAGE: AUXILIARY) DID NOT APPLY TO HER VEHICLE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 39,000.
OUR NISSAN PROBLEMS STARTED YEARS AGO. IN 2010 I STARTED NOTICING NOISE AND SHUDDERING COMING FROM THE TRANSMISSION. I BROUGHT IT IN TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID IT WAS NOTHING MORE THAN IT NEEDED A FLUSH OF THE TRANSMISSION FLUID. SO I PAID THE $150, HAD IT DONE AND WENT ON MY WAY. IN 2011 IS STARTED DOING IT AGAIN, HAD IT CHECKED AND THEY SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH IT I MUST HAVE BEEN HEARING THINGS. THEY TEST DROVE IT NUMEROUS TIMES AND 'NEVER HEARD ANYTHING'. EVENTUALLY THEY HAD A SPECIALIST COME AND LOOK AT MY CAR. HE DETERMINED THAT MY A/C UNIT NEEDED TO BE RESET. EVERYTHING SEEMED TO BE FINE AND WE WENT ON OUR MERRY WAY. FLASH FORWARD TO JULY 2013. ON THE WAY HOME FROM A ROAD TRIP, ABOUT 3 HOURS FROM OUR HOUSE WE STARTED NOTICING IT WAS GETTING HOT IN THE CAR. SURE ENOUGH THE AIR JUST STARTED BLOWING OUT HOT AIR. EVERYTHING STILL WORKED ON THE A/C, JUST BLOWING HOT AIR. SO WE DROVE HOME SWEATING OUR A$$ OFF IN MID-SUMMER IN FL. A DAY OR 2 LATER WE ARE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON (1ST TIME EVER IN THIS CAR). HUSBAND THOUGHT HE SHOULD SHUT THE CAR OFF...WELL, THAT WAS THE LAST TIME MY CAR EVER WORKED. WE HAD IT TOWED TO A MECHANIC WHERE IT SAT THERE FOR 2 WEEKS. FIRST HE DETERMINED IT WAS A BLOWN FUSE - GREAT, $10! - WENT TO PICK IT UP AND IT BLEW AGAIN. HE THEN DETERMINED IT WAS A BROKEN COMPUTER TOLD US TO TOW IT TO NISSAN. WE DID. IT HAS BEEN THERE FOR A WEEK AND WE WERE JUST TOLD THAT THE TRANS & RADIATOR FLUIDS MIXED AND CAUSED TRANS TO SEIZE CAUSING A/C AND ELECTRICAL ISSUES AS WELL. THEY CLAIM THEY'VE NEVER HEARD OF THIS BEFORE...YEA, RIGHT! NISSAN WON'T DO ANYTHING BUT HAS TOLD US TO CALL THE CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT # AND FILE A COMPLAINT...OH AND THEY'LL GIVE ME $500 FOR A CAR THAT'S WORTH $6,000+. THEY KNEW ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND NEVER TOLD ME ABOUT IT IN THE YEARS THAT I BROUGHT UP THE ISSUE. BEWARE OF NISSAN!
MY NISSAN PATHFINDER IS A 2008, THE VEHICLE HAS 23,000 MILES ON IT. IT IS NOW FEB. 1, 2010, AND THERE IS VERY LITTLE TREAD LEFT. I HAVE VERY YOUNG CHILDREN AND I AM CONCERNED THAT THE TIRES WILL CAUSE AN ACCIDENT DUE TO LACK OF TREAD OR FEAR OF A BLOWOUT. THE TIRES ARE BF GOODRICH RADIAL LONG TRAIL T/A P265/65R17. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 NISSAN PATHFINDER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60-70 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO HESITATE. THE CONTACT SAFELY DROVE ONTO THE EMERGENCY LANE. ALTHOUGH THE GAS GAUGE INDICATED THAT THE FUEL TANK WAS FULL, IT WAS ACTUALLY EMPTY. WHEN HE ADDED FUEL TO THE VEHICLE, THE GAS GAUGE READ EMPTY. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHERE THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR WAS REPLACED SINCE IT CAUSED THE FAILURE TO OCCUR. A REPORT WAS FILED WITH THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER ALSO STATED THAT HIS VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN RECALL 10V075000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE: STORAGE: AUXILIARY); THEREFORE, HE WOULD NOT BE REIMBURSED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,258. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 44,314.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 NISSAN PATHFINDER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG INADVERTENTLY DEPLOYED WITHOUT ANY LEVEL OF IMPACT. THE DRIVER CRASHED INTO THE PROCEEDING VEHICLE AS A RESULT OF THE FAILURE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE POLICE WAS CALLED TO THE SCENE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER. THE FAILURE WAS CONTRIBUTED TO A DEFECTIVE SENSOR IN THE AIR BAG SYSTEM. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED DUE TO THE UNAVAILABILITY OF THE PART. THERE WERE CONCERNS OF THE SAFETY RISK INVOLVED AND THE UNCERTAINTY OF THE PART AVAILABILITY IN THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY 2010. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT EXPERIENCED FAILURE WITH THE AIR BAG REMAINING OFF, THE HEADLIGHT BULB CONSTANTLY FAILED, THE WINDOWS WOULD OPERATE INTERMITTENTLY AND WHEN DEPRESSING THE BRAKES, THE VEHICLE WOULD EXHIBIT AN UNUSUAL NOISE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER NUMEROUS TIMES WHERE THE DEALER REPLACED THE HEAD LIGHT BULB AND ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE AIR BAG, WINDOWS AND BRAKES WERE OPERATING AS DESIGNED. THE FAILURES PERSISTED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE A DIAGNOSTIC WAS PERFORMED. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THE FAILURES AT THE WINDOW ELECTRICAL WIRING AND THE AIR CONDITIONING COMPRESSOR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY ADVISED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER BUT THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO ASSIST WITH THE REPAIRS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 47,000.
VEHICLE TRYING TO LUNGE FORWARD WHILE STOPPED AT REDLIGHT, STOPSIGN, OR IN TRAFFIC. TRANSMISSION VIBRATION AT LOW SPEEDS WHEN GOING INTO OVERDRIVE. ENGINE REVS DURING TRAVEL, WITHOUT ACCELERATOR BEING PRESSED. AS WELL AS APPARENT MALFUNCTION, THERE ARE TOO MANY INSTANCES OF SAFETY ISSUE WITH NO CONTROL OVER WHEN IT HAPPENS, AND WE NOW UNDERSTAND THE COMPLEXITY OF THE PROBLEM WITH NISSAN AND THE "RECALL THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN." WE DONT REMEMBER BEING NOTIFIED OF AN EXTENDED WARRANTY. WE WISH TO COMPLAIN, THAT A COMPANY WE HAD FAITH IN, AND TRUSTED, EXPOSED OUR FAMILY TO SAFETY ISSUES THAT COULD HAVE BEEN TERRIBLE, HAD CIRCUMSTANCES BEEN WORSE, AS SOME HAVE EXPERIENCED. I BOUGHT THE PATHFINDER BRAND NEW IN 2008. SHORTLY THERE AFTER, WHEN I INSERTED THE KEY INTO THE IGNITION, IT MAKES NO ATTEMPT OF TURNING ON. IT HAS LEFT ME STRANDED ON 7 OCCASIONS THUS FAR. WHEN I PUT THE KEY IN AND TURN IT, IT DOES NOTHING. I BROUGHT IT IN LAST YEAR AND THEY NEVER FOUND WHAT WAS WRONG WITH IT. THE WARRANTY EXPIRES IN TWO WEEKS AND I DO NOT WANT TO BE LEFT WITH A PROBLEM ONCE THE WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED. LUCKILY IT HAS ONLY LEFT ME STRANDED WITHIN 30 MILES OF HOME, BUT I AM NOT LOOKING FORWARD TO BEING STRANDED FAR FROM HOME. AFTER A GOOD 30-90 MINUTES, THE CAR WILL EVENTUALLY TURN ON. I HAVE HAD TO GET A RIDE FROM MY PARENTS FROM THE SUPERMARKET, HAD MY HUSBAND LEAVE WORK TO PICK ME UP FROM ANOTHER TOWN, WALKED TO MY PARENT'S HOUSE BECAUSE THE SUV WOULD NOT TURN ON. WHEN I HAVE SPOKEN TO THE SERVICE PEOPLE WHERE I BOUGHT IT, THEY HAVE TOLD ME THAT IF THEY CANNOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM, THEY CANNOT FIX IT. IT IS VERY FRUSTRATING TO INSERT KEY AND NOT HAVE CAR TURN ON. I AM BRINGING CAR ONCE AGAIN TO DEALER TO SEE IF PROBLEM CAN BE RESOLVED. I OWN A 2008 NISSAN PATHFINDER WITH 68,000 MILES. MY FUEL GAUGE SENSOR NO LONGER FUNCTIONS. *TR
I PURCHASED MY 2008 NISSAN PATHFINDER IN EARLY JANUARY 2009. EARLY FEBRUARY 2009 MY FRIEND SAT IN THE PASSENGER SEAT AND THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON INDICATING THAT IT WAS NOT ON. SHE IS AT LEAST 5 FEET 8 INCHES AND 135 POUNDS. I AM ALSO THE SAME HEIGHT AND WEIGHT AND IT DIDN'T WORK FOR ME WHEN I SAT IN THE PASSENGER SEAT AS WELL. THIS OCCURS EVERY TIME SOMEONE LIGHTER THAN 160LBS SITS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. I BROUGHT THE CAR IN FOR SERVICE AND THEY TOLD ME THAT IT WAS FUNCTIONING PROPERLY AND IF THE PERSON IN THE PASSENGER SEAT WASN'T SITTING IN SUCH A WAY TO TOUCH THE SENSOR, THEN IT WOULD NOT WORK. THEY ALSO TOLD ME THAT IT IS OPERATING PROPERLY ACCORDING TO NISSAN STANDARDS. SO IF I OR MY PASSENGER ARE NOT SITTING IN THE SEAT IN SUCH A WAY TO SET OFF THE SENSOR, THEN WE AREN'T PROTECTED. IT WASN'T AS IF WE WERE SITTING ON OUR KNEES OR IN SOME WEIRD POSITION. WE WERE SITTING AS WE WOULD IN ANY VEHICLE. I ALSO BROUGHT UP THAT IN AN ACCIDENT, WHEN THE CAR IS BEING JOSTLED AROUND, THAT CONTROLLING HOW WE SIT IN THE SEAT IS THE LAST THING ON OUR MIND AND WE WOULDN'T GET THE BENEFIT OF AN AIRBAG? I ALSO BROUGHT UP THAT THE DRIVER AIRBAG LIGHT DOES NOT GO ON AND I AM THE ONE WHO USUALLY DRIVES IT. THEY TOLD ME THAT THE DRIVER AIRBAG ALWAYS STAYS ON BECAUSE IT IS THE DRIVER. NISSAN HAS NOT GIVEN ME ANY RESOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME. *TR

THE CONTACTED EXPERIENCED FAILURES WHILE HE SHIFTED GEARS THE VEHICLE SLOWED DOWN, AND WHEN HE ATTEMPTED TO STOP IT THE BRAKES DID NOT RESPOND IMMEDIATELY WHICH CAUSED HIM TO INCREASE THE BREAKING DISTANCE. HE THOUGHT IT WAS DRIVERS ERROR, BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS NEW. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHO REPLACED THE FRONT SHOCKS; THE REPAIR DID NOT CORRECT THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER TOOK REPORT 6887492; HOWEVER, THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THAT THEY COULD NOT ASSIST WITH THE TRANSMISSION FAILURE, BECAUSE THE ROUTINE MAINTENANCE WASN'T DONE AT THE DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 87,000.
DRIVER'S ELECTRIC SEAT ABRUPTLY ACTIVATES WITHOUT DRIVER INPUT AND SENDS DRIVER UNEXPECTEDLY INTO STEERING COLUMN WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. PROBLEM WAS ABATED BY DEALER REPLACING CONTROL PANEL BUT PROBLEM STILL REMAINS IN THE FORM OF SEAT BACK "CREEP" WHILE DRIVING FOR EXTENDED PERIODS. *TR

FOUR OCCUPANTS WERE INJURED AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THROUGH ONLINE RESEARCH, THE CONTACT DISCOVERED NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 08V690000 (AIR BAGS:FRONTAL). SHE FEELS THAT HER VEHICLE IS VERY UNSAFE AND WANTS TO KNOW WHY A RECALL WAS NOT ISSUED. THE MILEAGES AND VIN WERE UNKNOWN.
PASSENGER SIDE FLOOR BOARD KEPT GETTING WET. AFTER THE 4TH SERVICE I ASKED THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT IT AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THERE IS A BULLETIN OUT ON THE A/C EVAPORATOR COIL AND THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS TO REPAIR IT BECAUSE THEY ARE ON BACK ORDER. THEY WILL CALL AND SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT WITH ME WHEN THE PARTS ARE AVAILABLE. *TR
THE COMPUTER SYSTEM IN THE 2008 NISSAN PATHFINDER MALFUNCTIONS AND ALL GAUGES, SPEEDOMETER, AND WARNING SYSTEMS STOP WORKING. THIS HAPPENS WHEN DRIVING. THE CRUISE CONTROL WILL CAUSE THE CARS TO ACCELERATE. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT FIFTY PERCENT OF THE TIME WHEN SHE OCCUPIES THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT SEAT, THE AIR BAG SENSOR CONTROL MODULE INDICATED THAT THE AIR BAG WAS DEACTIVATED. SHE WEIGHS 120 LBS AND IS APPROXIMATELY 5 FEET TALL. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE SEAT WAS NOT DEFECTIVE AND ADVISED HER TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE MANUFACTURER. WHEN SHE RESETS THE TRIP ODOMETER ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL, IT DOES NOT MATCH THE ODOMETER LOCATED ON THE NAVIGATION COMPUTER. SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE NUMBER ON THE NAVIGATION COMPUTER WAS A 2 PERCENT DIFFERENCE FROM THE ODOMETER ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 1,500 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 500. UPDATED 03-05-08 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THE ODOMETER TRIP READING ON THE DASH WAS NOT MATCHING THE TRIP READING ON THE CENTER COMPUTER. THE CONSUMER STATED IT WAS OFF BY 2%. THE DEALER RECALIBRATED THE COMPUTERS
