I was driving my vehicle and someone notice fluid leaking from the trans cooler area. After all the fluid leaked out without warning on the dash. The vehicle was not driveable and had to get it towed home. After further inspection I noticed one of the oil cooler lines ruptured and bust resulting in the CVT trans fluid leaking out. There was not warning and this could have been dangerous if driving and lost power. There was again not CVT warning light!.. Nissan has a faulty CVT cooling lines
Passenger airbag sensor indicates seat is empty even though someone is sitting in it. Have not had it checked yet. Going this week.
When I slow down and speed up from a stop or when I drive into curves it makes a shuddering jerking motion.. the engine light comes on saying it's the CVT transmission.. how do I get it fixed since there is so many others with the same complaint??
The transmission is shuddering and bucking. After numerous research it appears this is a common issue and should be made a recall by Nissan. To repair this issue it will cost more than what the vehicle is worth.
My ABS system seems to trigger a warning when using the brakes and the car has a loss of power when accelerating this is especially dangerous on roads merging with traffic. I will restart the car the next day and the ABS light turns off and works fine. This seems to happen intermittently and is a safety concern for my family in the car.
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated while attempting to accelerate the vehicle would jerk and hesitate while driving and shifting into gear. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic and diagnosed with a CVT judder. The contact stated that she researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V142000 (Power Train). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 138,397.
Known CVT Judder on my vehicle and service bulletin. They will not assist payment any repairs for an unsafe vehicle due to mileage. They have had many recalls but refuse to recall this vehicle and continue to market and sell without notifying consumers of known faulty transmission that does not create a check engine lite and effects driving. I have not been in an accident but those could cause an accident and is very unsafe.
My hatch want go up took it to Andy Mohr Dealer ship and diagnostic were perform and they still couldn't come up a solution to get my hatch to work properly
Severe jumping, shaking, shuddering when accelerating after a stop - between 10 - 25 mph. Now it's in the shop, will not drive due to transmission issue.
on 3 separate occasions 3 separate door handles have failed to work from the inside of the vehicle. We had to replace the front passenger side door handle twice and the rear left side once and now the rear right side door handle has stopped working. No warnings whatsoever ever they just stop latching and we are unable to exit the vehicle which is very unsafe. We took it to the Nissan Dealership in Carson City Nevada where we paid to get it replaced on 03/07/2022.
Shifter will not move from park. I have to use the hidden bypass push button just above park indicator to move vehicle in & out of gear. I bought this vehicle with about 141,000 miles. I noticed the under carriage was wet at time i bought it on september 16th 2021. Very slow leak. Had mechanic test transmission fluid temp and add Nissan cvt fluid. Didnt need much. Both rear interior doors have boken handles. Cables broke free of internal handle. Transmission starting to hesitate or lose power on mostly heavy acceleration. Acceleration pause for moment. Sometimes a few times within 5-7 seconds when attempt to excelerate at full throttle when heavy acceleration. Getting worse. Happening at slower speeds. Hood shakes on highway. Needs reinforced. So far caused no accidents.
When accelerating there is a judder. It only happens when accelerating.
Sun visor problem. Sun visor made within poor quality plastic. Plastic retainer broken now sun visor will not stay up. This is causing a vision problem when visor just drops into line of vision.
Car starts high Rev and barely wants to move. Then check engine light comes on diagnoses code CVT solenoids stuck.
Brake lights will not turn off when engine is off. Sometimes car starts without depressing brake pedal
Vehicle gets stuck in park. The gear will not shift into drive, reverse, or neutral. Will not move from park even though the car is on. Brake lights deploy when brake pedal is pushed but car will not move from park position.
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that the air bag warning light was illuminated. He also stated that the OCS sensor failed to recognize an occupant seated in the passenger’s side seat, which would cause the air bag to become inoperable. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed him that there were no recalls on the vehicle. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V681000 (Air Bags) which he linked to the failure. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was 149,989
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated while driving 70 mph, when the vehicle stalled. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to park on the side of the road. The vehicle was not drivable. The contact towed the vehicle to an independent mechanic and was informed the transmission was needing to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact called the local dealer and made them aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V142000 (POWER TRAIN), however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 230,000.
After changing rear break pads. I started having issues with the ABS. The car goes into anti skid mode with abs decelerating the car. On highway the car vibrates while applying breaks. Upon taking back to the same dealership. The service team said it has nothing to do with the break changes and upon checking C1142 code came up. The pressure switch sensor issue. The service team flushed the break fluid a few times and asked me to use to vehicle and report for any such issues. I am reaching out the NHTSA to check if anyone else has report a faulty pressure switch. This was little scary a we had recently went on a long drive with the kids and the driving was bit rough and tough
I recently purchased a 2013 Pathfinder with 71,000 miles. My 2013 Pathfinder has a faulty OCS. The RED AIRBAG light is illuminated on the dashboard that will not go off. It also has the PASSENGER AIRBAG light illuminated whether a person is sitting in the passenger seat or not. This light does not go off when an adult is sitting in the seat. There is a recall on 2013 Pathfinders for this problem but my VIN is not showing a recall for this problem even though it has the same issue.
Inside passengers front door handle broke making it impossible to open the passengers front door from inside the vehicle
In the course of 1.5 yrs I have had issues with my transmission. I had to replace my transmission last June, only for the transmission to go out again in the beginning of Aug. now it’s been less than a year and my car transmission gave out again in July. This will be transmission number 4 with in 1.5 years. This last time I was turning into my friends house and the car would not go into the driveway, instead it lost power and rolled back down the street. Luckily my friend lives on a not so busy road and I avoided getting hit. I had the car towed to a Nissan dealership and they confirmed once again that it was indeed the transmission once again. This can not be normal in any way for a transmission to give out in a car that quickly. This is very dangerous.
Was driving around yesterday when the vehicle started acting funny. When you put it into reverse, the vehicle would not recognize the shift immediately, and would instead make a hard jerk when the vehicle did go into gear. Similarly happened putting the vehicle into drive as well. Vehicle also is shuddering on acceleration. Went to a local part store to check it out, and ended up being code P17F0 with no immediate remedy available from Nissan.
I have been experiencing the transmission shutter and jitter on the highway going to work and sometimes I lose speed which causes me to slow down to less than posted highway speeds in order to exit off the highway. The shudder judder that occurs happens intermittent and there are times when I feel that when I try to accelerate on the highway, the pedal does not react to my input into the gas. Not sure if it is a safety thing but the dealership visit that I had at Classic Nissan of Texoma in Denison Texas in April I was told that the shudder and judder was supposed to be fixed by an electronic update by Nissan. There continue to be TONS of issues with not just this model year but others based on the CVT transmission in these cars and the manufacturer needs to do something about it now before someone gets seriously hurt. I've had a few close calls which is why I decided to research and report with you because I feel the dealership or the manufacturer are not listening loud and clear to the owners of these cars such as myself.
Im one of the couple thousands around the US and Canada having a CVT transmission problems in A Nissan vehicle. Vehicle started having issues around 80k miles. Now still having issues with 120k Vehicle looks brand new still. CVT issues on my 13 Pathfinder are having a very aggressive vibration at low speed to mid speed. Nissan was told at several dealerships about the issue. They said. Nothing they can’t do because of vehicle has no recalls.
I was driving down the road and the car wouldn’t shift into second gear. The speed limit was 35 mph and my car would only go 20 mph. I couldn’t drive home safely, no warning lights came on or anything. Dealership said my CVT transmission needs to be replaced. This sudden drop in speed became a hazard for me and my passenger.
Traction control light appears and car goes into stall mode and will not drive/pressing the gas the car will not gain traction.
My hood has popped opened while driving.
passenger side airbag light is always on (passenger or not) indicating that the passenger side airbag is off. also, when there is no passenger in the seat, the red airbag light flashes. however, when there is a passenger in the seat, the red airbag light is not on.
I noticed a leak under my car with fresh fluid. It took me months to figure out where it was coming from. I removed the undercover where the bumper is and saw the leaking coming from the transmission oil cooler hose at the elbow connection. I looked online and noticed this exact recall: 2013 PATHFINDER; CVT FLUID LEAK AT COOLER HOSE For some odd reason my VIN was not listed under the recall. Looks like I have to fix Nissan’s issue out of my own pocket
The contact's aunt owns a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that on three separate occasions, the hood inadvertently popped open without warning while driving at various speeds. The vehicle was taken to the dealer twice, the hood latch was replaced after the first failure and the hood latches were lubricated after the second failure. The contact's aunt then received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V420000 (Latches/Locks/Linkages) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 78,062. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated while starting the vehicle, the front passenger’s side air bag and the "solid air bag #2" warning lights were illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the air bag sensor to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired but was pending repairs. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 13V069000 (Air Bags) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 102,000. Consumer has not stated when the incident occured.*JB
Electric fan stopped working properly causing the vehicle to overheat.
AS I AM IN A COMPLETE STOP OR DRIVING SLOW I PRESS THE PEDAL TO ACCELERATE THE CAR SHAKES AND IT IS THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPING AND IT SHAKES FOR A GOOD 3 MINUTES ON THE ROAD, WHICH IS DANGEROUS FOR ME BECAUSE I'M AFRAID IT'LL STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD OR THAT I'LL GET HIT BY ANOTHER CAR SINCE IT IS SLIPPING WHEN I'M TRYING TO ACCELERATE FROM A COMPLETE STOP OR TRYING TO ACCELERATE FROM A SLOW SPEED
Gear selector will not shift out of Park with the brake pedal depressed requiring the use of the manual override switch to shift the car into gear.
THE FRONT PASSENGER CONTROL ARM SNAPPED FREE FROM THE SUBFRAME WHILE SITTING AT A STOP SIGN. I HEARD A LOUD NOISE AND HAD NO IDEA WHAT IT WAS UNTIL I STARTED DRIVING AND FELT AN ISSUE IN THE STEERING. WHEN I WENT UNDERNEATH TO LOOK, I REALIZED THAT THE ENTIRE CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY WAS COMPLETELY SEPARATED FROM THE SUBFRAME. WHEN LOOKING ONLINE FOR A POSSIBLE RECALL, I REALIZED THAT I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WHERE SOMETHING SIMILAR HAS HAPPENED. THIS IS CLEARLY NOT A WEAR AND TEAR ISSUE AND NO WAY SHOULD THIS EVER HAPPEN. THIS IS SOMETHING THE MANUFACTURER NEEDS TO FIX! I HOPE SOMETHING IS DONE SOON BEFORE IT HAPPENS TO SOMEONE ELSE!! OF COURSE MY CAR ISN'T UNDER WARRANTY ANYMORE SO NOW I AM STUCK WITH A $3,000 BILL DUE TO NO FAULT OF MY OWN, AND THE INSURANCE COMPANY CAN'T HELP ME EITHER. PLEASE ADD THIS TO YOUR RECALL LIST...THIS IS SO DANGEROUS!!!!!
FROM TIME TO TIME IT WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK
TRANSMISSION PROBLEM TRANSMISSION SHAKES BADLY WHEN PICK UP
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LUPIENT NISSAN OF BROOKLYN PARK (7910 LAKELAND AVE N, BROOKLYN PARK, MN 55445, (763) 244-2650) BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 215,671.
I HAVE TO CHANGE THE TRANSMISSION FOR THE 2 TIME . THE FIRST NISSAN SEND ME RECALL AN D THIS ONE I HAVE TO PAY FOR MY SELF, VERY BAD TRANSMISSION. I KNOW PEOPLE SUFFER FOR THIS SITUATION, IN THE 2019 MY CAR STARTED WITH SMALL SIGNAL, BUT IN 03/ 01/2021 I HAVES THE DIAGNOSTIC FOR THE PROBLEM THAN YOU SO MUCH FOR PAY ATTENTION TO THIS PROBLEM. MARLENE F SILVA
ACCELERATING FROM A STOP, OR INCREASING SPEED FROM A TURN, THE CAR SPUTTERS, POWER FLUCTUATES, AND SOMETIMES IT VIBRATES AND FEELS LIKE I AM DRIVING OVER A GRID. SHIFTING IS ROUGH WHILE DRIVING, AND THE CAR SOMETIMES FEELS LIKE IT'S GOING TO STALL, OR LIKE I'M DRIVING A STANDARD TRANSMISSION AND I'VE LEFT OFF THE CLUTCH TOO SOON. THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN ONGOING AND STARTED INCONSISTENTLY
THE VEHICLE SHUDDERS BADLY WHEN DRIVING AT SLOWER SPEEDS AND ALSO WHEN DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AND I CHECKED ON PATHFINDER FORUMS THAT 2013S HAVE LOTS OF COMPLAINTS LISTED FOR SAME PROBLEM.
The contact’s niece owns a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that while his niece was driving at various speeds, the transmission hesitated, and the vehicle stalled. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle became inoperable and was towed to the residence. The vehicle was then towed to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the continuously variable transmission (CVT) needed to be replaced. The contact was made aware that the warranty had expired, and the vehicle remained at the dealer awaiting the repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
The transmission causes my car to stutter when accelerating or decelerating at low speeds. It's dangerous as you are trying to merge into traffic or pass other cars. I've taken it to my dealer who said that they see this all the time with Nissans. I have also taken it to a transmission repair shop who said it's a common problem with Nissans and that it will have to be replaced for $5500 to correct it.
MY WARRANTY ENDED AT 80,000 AND MY TRANSMISSION WENT OUT ON ME AT 83,000. WARRANTY ENDED JULY 2020 BUT I WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF SUCH INFORMATION. I HAVE PURCHASED TWO VEHICLES FROM NISSAN AND I WILL NOT PURCHASE ANOTHER ONE DUE TO THIS MATTER. B/C NISSAN WILL NOT COVER IT AND WANTS $6,500 TO REPLACE IT WITH A USE TRANSMISSION. THEY HAVE LOST IT.
THE PATHFINDER WAS RECALLED DUE TO TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. WHEN I HEARD ABOUT THE SETTLEMENT HAD BEEN SETTLED. SO I CALLED THE COMPANY DIRECTLY AND FOUND OUT THAT THE PATHFINDER HAD NOT EVER BEEN CHANGED FROM THE PREVIOUS OWNER. SO NO ONE WANTED TO HELP ME. SO WE HAD TAKEN THE PATHFINDER IN BEFORE I KNEW OF THE RECALL DUE TO TRANSMISSION LEAKING. HAD PURCHASED EXTENDED WARRANTY THEY REFUSED TO REPAIR THE TRANSMISSION. SO LAST MONTH I HAD TO COME UP WITH MONEY TO HAVE A TRANSMISSION PUT IN. BECAUSE IT WAS STUCK IN PARK AND DRIVE. NO TAKE IN CONSIDERATION I HAD CONTACTED NISSAN DIRECTLY AND THEY REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING AND KNEW THIS YEAR HAD JUST SETTLED A CIVIL LAWSUIT. SO I NEED HELP WITH BEING REIMBURSED BY NISSAN. THERE WAS AS IF, IT WAS STUCK IN LOW GEAR, HIGH PITCH SOUND WHEN STARTED, HESITATED WHEN LEAVING A STOP LIGHT, DIFFICULT TIME PICKING UP SPEED, CONSTANTLY LEAKING TRANSMISSION LIQUID, HIGH PITCH NOICE WHEN WAS PUT IN REVERSE AND JERKING AS WHEN IT WAS ON THE HIGH WAY TRYING TO SHIFT GEARS. HAD A PARTICULAR SMELL AT TIMES. EVEN CALLED CVT ABOUT THE PROBLEM. EVERYONE REFUSED TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. WAS UNABLE TO ATTACH THE SECOND PAGE OF THE DOCUMENT. I CAN PROVIDE DOCUMENTATION WHEN WE FIRST TOOK IN THE PATHFINDER WITH THIS PROBLEM.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE STATIONARY AND IN THE PARK POSITION, HER VEHICLE SUDDENLY BEGAN TO ROLL BACKWARDS AS SHE WAS STANDING OUTSIDE OF THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR. THE VEHICLE HAD ROLLED OVER THE CONTACT'S LEFT FOOT AND SUDDENLY CAME TO A STOP AFTER ROLLING A FEW FEET. AN AMBULANCE WAS CALLED TO THE SCENE AND THE CONTACT WAS TREATED FOR A BROKEN ANKLE AND BRUISING TO LEFT KNEE. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT HAD TO HAVE SURGERY ON HER LEFT ANKLE. CONSUMER ALSO HAD BRUISES ON LEFT AND RIGHT LEG. THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER HAD YET TO BE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD YET TO BE SERVICED OR DIAGNOSED FOR THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.*DT*JB
THIS HAPPENED TO ME YESTERDAY 09/07/2020 ON MY 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER. I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 45 MILES AN HOUR ON A RURAL EMPTY ROAD WHEN THE SUNROOF MADE A POP SOUND AND EXPLODED. I LOOKED IN MY REAR VIEW MIRROR AND SAW A LARGE SHEET OF GLASS HIT THE ROAD AND DISINTEGRATE. WHEN I OPENED THE COVER FOR THE SUNROOF MOST OF THE GLASS WAS GONE. THE PIECES AROUND THE FRAME THAT REMAINED WERE SHATTERED. DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO JOIN A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT?
HOOD FLUTTERS GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. HAS BEEN PREVIOUSLY ADJUSTED UNDER SAFETY RECALL. NOT REPAIRED COMPLETELY BY DEALERSHIP. CVT TRANSMISSION JUDDER. HAS BEEN REPROGRAMMED BY DEALERSHIP, DID NOT REPAIR PROBLEM. BANDS NOW SLIPPING AND OUT OF MILEAGE WARRANTY. OCCUPANT SENSOR FOR AIRBAG PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED BY DEALERSHIP. STILL DOES NOT WORK. REPLACED CUSHION. STILL NOT REPAIRED. DEALERSHIP REFUSES TO REPAIR. LIFTGATE SCRATCHES ROOF WHEN OPENING. DEALERSHIP SAID THE LIFTGATE HAS A CODE. BRANDON NISSAN IN BRANDON FLORIDA. WILL NOT REPAIR ANY OF THE TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS ON THIS VEHICLE.
THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT RESPOND WHEN I ACCELERATE IT AND IT DOES NOT PASS THE GEAR CHANGES, WHEN IT GOES OVER 40 MILES PER HOUR AND I STEP ON THE ACCELERATOR SO THAT IT INCREASES SPEED IT DOES NOT AND DOES NOT ACCELERATE.
