SUNVISORS WILL NOT STAY CORRECTLY IN A SECURE POSITION. THIS CAN BECOME A SAFETY ISSUE. IT WILL DROP DOWN AND BLOCK VIEW. THE VISOR DOES NOT SERVE THE INTENDED PURPOSE OF BLOCKING THE SUN DUE TO NOT STAYING IN THE POSITION TO BLOCK THE SUN. THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS OF THIS ISSUE AND NISSAN HAS TOTALLY IGNORED RECALLING FOR THE CONSUMER. IT WILL TAKE SOMEONE HAVING A SERIOUS WRECK TO GET THEIR ATTENTION.
MY VEHICLE HAS STOPPED RESPONDING TWICE TO ACCELERATION. I PRESS THE PEDDLE AND NOTHING CHANGES AND RPMS REMAIN AT 2000. AFTER 15 MINUTES CAR BEGAN RESPONDING AGAIN. FIRST INCIDENT OCCURRED WHILE TRAVELING AT 15 MPH IN CITY. SECOND OCCURED ON HWY TRAVELLING 60MPH AFTER SEVERAL HOURS OF DRIVING. TWO INCIDENCES HAPPENED A MONTH APART. VEHICLE HAS 95K MILES ON IT. VEHICLE HAS SEVERAL ISSUES BUT THIS ONE HAS BEEN THE MOST DANGEROUS CONSIDERING I DO LIVE IN A CITY AND NEED TO MERGE INTO TRAFFIC.
THE DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR IS MADE POORLY. DRIVERS SIDE SUN VISOR DOES NOT STAY IN THE UP POSITION. WHILE DRIVING IT HAS FALLING PROHIBITING VISIBILITY CONSTANTLY. I HAVE SEEN MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE FROM THE 2013 TO 2018 PATHFINDERS. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE WHILE DRIVING.
WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION IF RANDOMLY BECOMES UNRESPONSIVE TO THE GAS PEDAL BEING PRESSED TO ENGAGE THE ENGINE AND CONTINUE MOVING FORWARD. THE VEHICLE DOESN'T SHUT DOWN, THE ENGINE IS STILL RUNNING, HOWEVER, IT DOESN'T RESPOND WHEN THE GAS PEDAL IS ENGAGED TO ACCELERATE. THIS OCCURS WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREETS AND HIGHWAY. THE SAFETY CONCERN IS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS MOVING WITH TRAFFIC AND DOESN'T RESPOND TO THE GAS PEDAL THE VEHICLE BEGINS TO SLOW DOWN AND MAY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. THE MOST RECENT EPISODE OCCURRED THIS AFTERNOON (7/1/2019) WHILE DRIVING TO THE SERVICING DEALERSHIP FOR A SCHEDULED OIL CHANGE. MY WIFE MERGED TO THE LEFT LANE (ALSO THE PASSING LINE) IN ORDER TO GET OFF THE LEFT SIDE EXIT TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE VEHICLE BECAME DID NOT RESPOND TO THE GAS PEDAL AND SLOWED DOWN TO 45 MPH NEARLY CAUSING AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE TRAFFIC ON THE LEFT LANE WAS MOVING APPROXIMATELY 65-70 MPH. MY 2 YOUNG CHILDREN WERE IN THE VEHICLE AT THE TIME AS THEY ARE MOST OF THE TIME WHEN THE VEHICLE DOESN'T RESPOND TO THE GAS PEDAL BEING PRESSED. WE'VE HAD THE VEHICLE DIAGNOSED BY THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP (CROWLEY NISSAN) AND THEY'VE FOUND NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. WE WERE TOLD THAT'S HOW THE CVT TRANSMISSION IS SUPPOSED TO WORK ( IT'S NOT SUPPOSED TO POTENTIALLY KILL YOU AND YOUR FAMILY). I'VE DONE SOME RESEARCH ON THE WEB FOR SIMILAR ISSUES AND THERE ARE MANY NISSAN PATHFINDER EXPERIENCING THE SAME CONCERN. I ALSO CONTACTED NISSAN OF NORTH AMERICA TO EXPRESS THE CONCERN AND THEY HAD NO RESOLUTION, THE REPRESENTATIVE ALSO SAID THEY CAN NOT TAKE WEBSITE INPUT, OR BLOGS OF CUSTOMER EXPRESSING CONCERNS WITH THEIR VEHICLE. THE ONLY SUGGESTION IS THE TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND HAVE THEM DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM, BUT THE DEALERSHIP TELLS US THEY NEED A TROUBLE CODE FROM THE SYSTEM THAT'S FAILING. WHEN THIS OCCURS NO TROUBLE CODE COMES UP, SO, WE'RE GOING AROUND IN CIRCLES.
BRAKE LIGHTS FOUND TO BE STAYING ON WHILE CAR WAS PARKED IN THE GARAGE, THIS CAUSES THE ENGINE TO REDUCE POWER POTENTIALLY CAUSING AN ACCIDENT IF IT REDUCES POWER WHILE DRIVING, OR BY FOLLOWING VEHICLE THINKING THAT YOU ARE BRAKING WHEN YOU ARE TRYING TO ACCELERATE.
VEHICLE WHEN STATIONARY AND IN PARK INTERMITTENTLY WILL NOT SHIFT INTO ANY OTHER GEAR SUCH AS DRIVE OR REVERSE EVEN WHILE DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL. THIS CAUSES THE MOTORIST TO BECOME IMMOBILE. ONE SAFETY CONCERN IS A SCENARIO WHEN A MOTORIST PLACED THE VEHICLE IN PARK WHILE WAITING AT AN OPEN DRAW BRIDGE, TRAIN CROSSING OR OTHER SITUATION THAT THE MOTORIST PLACED THE VEHICLE IN PARK THEREBY MAKING THE VEHICLE IMMOBILE IN THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC. ADDITIONALLY A MOTORIST CAN BECOME STRANDED IN A REMOTE LOCATION WITH NO COMMUNICATION SERVICES AVAILABLE. AN INTERNET SEARCH FOR THIS CONDITION HAS UNCOVERED NUMEROUS OWNERS EXPERIENCING THIS VERY SAME CONDITION ON SAME OR SIMILAR NISSAN VEHICLES. UPON FURTHER RESEARCH IT APPEARS THAT A COMPONENT OR COMPONENTS, SUCH AS RELAY SWITCHES OR SOLENOID(S) MAY BE THE CAUSE OF THE TRANSMISSION GEAR SAFETY INTERLOCK BECOMING STUCK THEREBY PREVENTING THE MOTORIST FROM SHIFTING THE VEHICLE INTO THE DESIRED GEAR.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HALL NISSAN VIRGINIA BEACH (3757 BONNEY RD, VIRGINIA BEACH, VA 23452, (877) 430-1752) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM AIR BAG SENSOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT TO CALL NHTSA TO FILE A COMPLAINT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100,000.

WHEN I DRIVING MY VEHICLE AT THE TIME TO ACCELERATE MY CAR JUST DO NOT RESPONSE...I PRESS THE ACCELETOR PEDAL TO THE FLOOR AND STILL WITH NO POWER...THIS HAPPENED TO ME MANY TIMES IN THE HIGHWAY AND A LOCAL ROADS....I JUST PANICKED...I FEEL UNSAFE IN MY CAR NOW,I MAY FINISHED REAR ENDED ON THE ROAD.
ANYWHERE BETWEEN 15 AND 20 MILES MY CAR SHUDDERS. IT'S TO THE POINT PINT IT'S NOT SAFE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE
SUN VISOR DOES NOT STAY UP ON BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE. IT FALLS DURING DRIVING, SUDDENLY REDUCING VISIBILITY AND MAY CAUSE A CRASH. ALSO FALLS WHEN VEHICLE IS STATIONARY. SEVERAL SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ON 2013-2016 MODELS.
PATHFINDER WILL NOT RELEASE FROM THE PARK POSITION. IT HAPPENS AT LEAST ONCE A DAY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED PRIOR TO HIS COLLISION THE VEHICLE WOULD DISPLAY 'AIR BAGS DEPLOYED' MESSAGE AS WELL AS FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAGS OFF WARNING LIGHT WOULD ILLUMINATE WHEN OCCUPIED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO WOODMEN NISSAN (6840 VINCENT DR, COLORADO SPRINGS, CO 80918) WHERE THE FAILURE DIAGNOSES WAS NOT KNOWN TO THE CONTACT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC IN TEXAS WHERE A SUB HARNESS AND OCCUPANT SEAT MODULE WAS REPLACED. HOWEVER, THE CONTACT STATED IN DECEMBER OF 2019 WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH AND MAKING A LEFT TURN, WHEN HE IMPACTED ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THE FRONT DRIVER AIR BAGS SEMI DEPLOYED AND THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. HE SUSTAINED HEAD INJURIES WHILE HIS DAUGHTER WAS SITTING IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT SUSTAINED BACK AND LEG INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOW LOT AND DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF ISSUES HOWEVER, NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 97,000.*DT*JB *DT *TR*DT*DT*DT *AS*JB MANUFACTURER STATES THAT AIR BAGS FUNCTIONED PROPERLY. THEY STATE THAT THEIR INSPECTION SHOWED THE FULL DEPLOYMENT OF THE DRIVER AIR BAG. THE PASSENGER AIR BAG WAS SUPPRESSED DUE TO A DETECTED CHILD. *DL
THE BRAKE LIGHTS DON'T TURN OFF. IT DOSEN'T MATTER IF THE C AS R IS IN MOTION OR THE ENGINE IS OFF.
SINCE 2014 WE HAVE REPLACED 5 TRANSMISSIONS AND 4 OF THESE HAVE BEEN IN THE LAST MONTH . THE FIRST ONE WAS A RECALL . I AM WONDERING HOW MANY TIMES WILL THEY CONTINUE TO WORK THIS ISSUE BEFORE THEY FIX IT OR TAKE THE VIC AS A LOSS DUE TO THIS ISSUE NEVER BEING HANDLED. THIS IS OUR FAMILY CAR AND I CANNOT CONSIDER SELLING IT OR TRADING IT IN IF IT KEEPS BREAKING. NISSIAN HAS SAID THEY REPLACED THIS WITH A NEW TRANSMISSION MULTIPLE TIMES BUT HOW DOES THE SAME NEW TRANSMISSION KEEP BREAKING . I NEED ANSWERS .
DRIVING ON AN INTERSTATE MY WIPERS STOPPED OPERATING BECAUSE OF HEAVY SNOW. THEY WERE REPAIRED AT A NISSAN DEALERSHIP. I HAD TO DRIVE IN THE SHOULDER SO I COULD FOLLOW THE WHITE LINE. AGAIN ON A CITY STREET IN HEAVY SNOW MY WIPERS STOPPED WORKING AND WERE REPAIRED AT A NISSAN DEALERSHIP. TODAY, AGAIN MY WIPERS STOPPED WORKING WHILE DRIVING IN HEAVY SNOW ON A CITY STREET. NONE OF THE TIMES WERE FROM SNOW FROM THE TOP OF MY VEHICLE. I HAD CLEARED THAT OFF BEFORE DRIVING.
MY GEAR SHIFT NO LONGER WORKS AND I HAVE BEEN PUTTING A SCREWDRIVER IN TO MANUALLY OVERRIDE IT FOR OVER A YEAR. YESTERDAY, I PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE AND THE BRAKE WOULDN'T ENGAGE. I TOOK MY FOOT OFF AND PUT IT BACK ON THE BRAKE AND AGAIN THE CAR CONTINUED TO ROLL. I PUT IT IN PARK AND RESTARTED AND IT WORKED FINE. I HAVE READ THIS MAY HAVE TO DO WITH A BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH AND THIS IS ALSO RELATED TO THE SHIFTING PROBLEM, BUT NISSAN SAYS THERE IS NO RECALL. I WAS PUTTING UP WITH THE GEAR SHIFT AS I DIDN'T THINK IT WAS A SAFETY RISK BUT I DEFINITELY COULD HAVE HAD AN ACCIDENT BACKING OUT OF THE PARKING SPACE YESTERDAY.
BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON EVEN AFTER CAR IS TURNED OFF AND CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE MOMENTARILY INTERMITTENTLY. ALSO THE REAR HATCH WILL NOT OPEN.
MY NISSAN HAS BEEN GETTING STUCK IN PARK FOR THE LAST WEEK. AFTER RESEARCH ONLINE, I FOUND OUT HOW TO MANUALLY RELEASE THE SHIFT LOCK SOLENOID. I TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC TODAY & SURE ENOUGH HE SAID IT'S FAILED. I HAVE TO MANUALLY RELEASE IT 3/4 OF THE DAY. SOMETIMES I AM LUCKY AND IT WILL UNLOCK ON THE FIRST TRY AFTER STARTING MY CAR.

MY 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER GEAR SHIFT GETS STUCK IN THE PARK POSITION. IT HAPPENS WHEN THE CAR IS STATIONARY AND NEED TO TURN OFF THE CAR AND RESTART THE CAR MULTIPLE TIMES TO GET THE GEAR SHIFT OUT OF PARK.
THE VISOR BROKE AND THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE STOPPED WORKING
The air bag light indicating that the passenger air bag is disabled does not go off when someone sits in the passenger seat. This matches NHTSA Campaign Number 15V681000 from October 20, 2015 with the description Air Bag may not Detect Passenger in Seat. However, Nissan says that my VIN is not part of the recall. This makes no sense to me since my vehicle has this issue. I do not know exactly when this started as I don't often carry passengers. The date I put in was around the last time I took this vehicle in for what I believe was to address a recall issue. I'm also concerned that my vehicle could have the issue from April 26, 2016, NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V244000, Passenger Air Bag may not Deploy due to OCS Error.
WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY, FRONT HOOD LATCH THAT HOLDS HOOD DOWN BECAME UNLATCHED, CAUSING HOOD TO FLY BACK HITTING AND SHATTERING WINDSHIELD, DAMAGING THE RIGHT AND LEFT FENDERS AND DENTING THE ROOF OF MY VEHICLE.*DT *JB
I WAS AT A STOP LIGHT, WHEN I WENT TO ACCELERATE THE CAR BEGAN TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY AND STARTED JERKING. I STOPPED AT A GAS STATION TO INVESTIGATE AND THE CAR HESITATED TO SHIFT OUT OF DRIVE OR REVERSE. I AM HAVING TO REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE CVT TRANSMISSION AND HAVE COME TO KNOW THE FOLLOWING: THE TRANSMISSION DEFECT CREATES AN UNREASONABLY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND CREATES THE RISK OF A CRASH; IT IS INEVITABLE THAT AN INDIVIDUAL WILL BE INJURED OR KILLED DUE TO A COLLISION CAUSED BY THIS SAFETY DEFECT. NISSAN'S CVTS EXPERIENCE SUDDEN, UNEXPECTED SHAKING AND VIOLENT JERKING (COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS 'JUDDERING' OR 'SHUDDERING') THE VEHICLES HESITATE WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE, INCREASING THE RISK OF INJURY OR DEATH. WHILE IN MOTION, VEHICLE GAS PEDAL CEASED ACCELERATING. IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER, COULD NO LONGER MOVE THE CAR FORWARD OR BACKWARD. CAR WAS COMPLETELY IMMOBILE AND HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO NEAREST MECHANIC. MECHANIC INDICATED THE TRANSMISSION HOSE WAS PART OF THE PROBLEM ALONG WITH A FAULTY A/C COMPRESSOR. SOUNDS EXACTLY LIKE NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V142000 CALLED NISSAN ABOUT THIS AND THEY SAID THEY REFUSE TO HONOR IT BECAUSE MY VIN SHOWS IT WAS MANUFACTURED AT A DIFFERENT PLANT THAN THE ONE SHOWN EXPERIENCING ISSUES.

RADIATOR FANS NEEDING REPLACING EVERY TWO YEARS.
MY CAR WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK. I AM TRYING TO FIND OUT IF THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER?
SHIFT SELECTOR IS LOCKED...HAS TO UNLOCK IT MANUALLY.. THIS CAR IS 26722 MILLES...LITTLE USE...
SUN VISORS ON DRIVERS SIDE AND PASSENGER SIDE DROP DOWN UNEXPECTANTLY, MECHANISM INSIDE OF THE VISOR IS BROKEN AND UNREPAIRABLE. RESTRICTING THE VIEW OF THE DRIVER, WHILE NO LONGER ABLE TO BLOCK THE SUN WHILE DRIVING. HAZARDOUS AND DANGEROUS. DRIVERS SIDE VISOR BROKE WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE RODE PUT VISOR DOWN. WOULD NOT STAY IN PLACE BUT INSTEAD BLOCKED THE VISIBILITY WHILE TRYING TO DRIVE.
MY VIN NUMBER DID NOT SHOW IN RECALL HOWEVER OVER 80,000 VEHICLES HAD SAME PROBLEM I AM HAVING. THE BREAK LIGHT SWITCH, ELECTRICAL RELAY IS STICKING AND CAUSED BREAK LIGHTS TO BE ON WHEN CAR IS TURNED OFF AND I AM NOT IN THE CAR. THEN WHEN DRIVING BREAK LIGHTS COME ON AND I AM NOT PRESSING THE BREAKS. ALSO THE CAR WOULD NOT GO WHEN SHOULD AND I HAVE TO HIT THE GAS PADDLE AGAIN TO MAKE IT MOVE. SCARY GETTING ON THE FREEWAY.
VEHICLE TRANSMISSION IS NOT FUNCTIONING AS IT SHOULD CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO STOP ACCELERATING WHILE DRIVING.
THE SHIFT INTERLOCK DOES NOT DISENGAGE WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL IS DEPRESSED KEEPING THE VEHICLE FROM BEING ABLE TO SHIFT INTO GEAR. THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY AND CANNOT ENGAGE ANY GEARS THIS HAS CONTINUED TO HAPPEN DAILY SINCE IT BEGAN.
ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, TOOK IT TO MY REPAIR SHOP TO RUN A COMPUTER CHECK. IT CAME BACK WITH THE CVT P17F1 TRANSMISSION CODE. NOTHING HAS HAPPENED YET, THE LIGHT CAME ON YESTERDAY, TAKEN IN TODAY TO GET IT CHECKED OUT. MY REPAIR PLACE SAID THEY SAW WHERE NISSAN HAD A RECALL ON MY TYPE OR PATHFINDER YEARS 2013-2015 BUT WHEN I LOOKED UP MY TRUCK WITH THE VIN, IT SAYS NO RECALL ON MY VEHICLE. I'M TRYING TO SEE WHY MY VEHICLE DOESN'T HAVE A RECALL ON THE TRANSMISSION?

INSIDE DRIVER DOOR HANDLE BROKEN, NOT ALLOWING ACCESS TO EXIT VEHICLE WITHOUT SOMEONE OPENING THE DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE OR HAVING THE WINDOW DOWN. SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM BUT NISSAN REFUSES TO ADDRESS. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED WHEN THE DOOR COULD NOT BE OPENED.
DRIVER DOOR LATCH HAS BROKEN PREVENTING OPENING THE DOOR FROM THE INSIDE. THE DOOR MAY ONLY BE OPENED FROM THE OUTSIDE. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN A DRIVEWAY AND EXITING WAS PREVENTED UNTIL SOMEONE ELSE OPENED THE DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE.
THE CAR HAS BEEN STALLING ON US 4X. YOU DRIVE THE CAR AND CAR ONLY GOES UP TO 20-30 MPH AND WOULD NOT PICK UP SPEED. BROUGHT TO THE NISSAN SERVICE CENTER X 3 AND ABOUT TO GO FOR THE 4TH TIME. NISSAN SERVICE CANNOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR IN TIME OF WRITING. IT DID NOT HAVE ANY ENGINE LIGHTS OR WARNINGS. VEHICLE HAS CURRENTLY HAVE 52983 MILES. THE FIRST TWO EVENTS WERE IN A HIGHWAY DRIVING AND THE RECENT TWO ARE IN A LOCAL ROAD. ALL HAPPENED IN DRY AND WARM CONDITIONS.
