The car had a violent shudder/shaking on acceleration. The CVT was the issue and confirmed by the local Nissan dealer to be what they often see. It had several small jolts over the years but nothing like this. Apparently this is a well know issue inside Nissan to where they extended some repairs without telling owners. If we know of issue we would have had it checked by dealer before the end of secret extended warranty.
WATER LEAKS INTO THE INTERIOR OF THE CAR FROM THE ROOF AND RUNS DOWN AND SATURATE THE IN CABIN FUSE BOX AND THE FLOOR COULD POSSIBLE CAUSE AN ELECTRICAL FAILURE.
TRANSFER CASE HAVE BEEN LEAKING STARTING ABOUT 45K MILES AND DIDN'T EVEN STOP AFTER NISSAN RESEALED IT. RECENTLY ABOUT 90K MILES STARTED TO MAKE WHINING NOISE THAT SEEM TO BE LESS NOISY AFTER 35MPH. THERE ALSO IS SCRATCHING NOISE ON SLOW DOWN. TOOK THE CAR TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY RECOMMENDED DRIVING THE CAR ON 2WD ONLY. REPLACEMENT IS OVER $4,500.
ISSUE WITH THE CVT FOR NISSAN PATHFINDER. HAVE SEEN LOT OF COMPLAINTS AROUND THE TRANSMISSION FOR PATHFINDERS (2013 AND 2014 MODELS). NISSAN DOESN'T ACCEPT THE ISSUE AND IS CHARGING US PAY 5000$ FOR REPAIRS. CURRENTLY HAVE MILEAGE OF 69500 AND JUST PASSED THE WARRANT (BY 3 MONTHS). NISSAN DOESNT ACCEPT FOR ANY REPAIRS. THE VEHICLE WHILE IN MOTION STUTTERS AND STOPS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD WHICH IS QUITE DANGEROUS.
I HAVE SHUDDER AND JUDDER WHICH IS VERY DANGEROUS I TAKE IT TO MECHANIC SHOP THEY TOLD ME I HAVE P17FO WHICH IS TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. I HAVE 89500 MILES ON IT WHEN I DRIVE OVER 30 THE CAR GOING TO STALL ON HIGHWAY AND I AM NOT ABLE TO DO ANYTHING.
VEHICLE JUDDERED AND 'SHUT OFF' WHILE WIFE WAS DRIVING. BRAKES FAILED AS WELL. LUCKILY, SHE WAS ABLE TO COAST INTO A PARKING LOT. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE COVERED UNDER (AT LEAST) RECALL NTB16-1206 AND BULLETIN NTB17-039H. NISSAN WAS CONTACTED AND REFUSES TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. NISSAN CASE # 42605042.

THE DEALER STATED THAT THE WHINING SOUND WAS COMING FROM THE TRANSMISSION CASE AND A NEW TRANSFER CASE ASSEMBLY WAS NEEDED AT A COST OF $4,929. THE DEALER ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY FOR A COST OF AN ADDITIONAL $5,107. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT THE WARRANTY EXPIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 94,550.
MY ENGINE IS LOOSING POWER WHEN DRIVING. THE CAR SHUDDERS(LOSE POWER) AND THEN IT HAS DELAYED ENGAGEMENT. SINCE THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED IT CONTINUE TO HAPPEN INTERMITTENTLY
THE TRANSMISSION SLIPS CAUSING THE CAR TO LOSE POWER AND ACCELERATION. I WAS MERGING ONTO THE HIGHWAY AT 60 MPH WHEN THE TRANSMISSION GAVE OUT AS I WAS MERGING IN FRONT OF AND NEXT TO TWO SEMI TRAILERS. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO STEER BACK ONTO THE BERM BUT THEY CAME VERY CLOSE TO SMASHING INTO THE BACK OF THE CAR.

THE SUN VISORS MAKES A LOUD CRACKING NOISE AND HAVE CONTINUED TO FALL DOWN IN MY LIGHT OF SIGHT STARTING SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS ROUGHLY A YEAR OLD. THEY WILL NOT STAY UP AND HAVE ALMOST CAUSE ME TO GET INTO A SEVERE ACCIDENT SEVERAL TIMES. THE DRIVES SIDE VISOR HAD TO BE REMOVED AS IT HIT ME WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND CAUSED ME TO SWERVE OFF THE ROAD.

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the hood latch was repaired. However, the failure had been reoccurring. The contact stated that the hood latch flew open several times while driving. The contact received recall notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V420000 (Latches/Locks/Linkages). However, the parts to do the recall repair were not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time to complete the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
CAR WAS IDLING AND COASTING FOR A WHILE AS WE WERE AT A DRIVE THROUGH AFRICAN SAFARI WILDLIFE PARK. ONCE I NEEDED TO PRESS THE ACCELERATOR, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT GO. SUDDENLY IT SPED UP AND I HAD TO SLAM ON THE BRAKES TO NOT HIT THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME.
VEHICLE MAKES A CONTINUOUS WHINING/WIND NOISE WHILE IN MOTION AND WHEN THE GAS PEDAL IS NOT ENGAGED (DEALERSHIPS STATE THAT THEY CAN NOT IDENTIFY THE ISSUE). THE TRANSMISSION WAS CHANGED BACK IN 2017 BUT IS NOW JUDDERING AND SLOW TO ACCELERATE.THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING PUMP MAKING A VERY LOUD WHINING NOISE, NO WARNING LIGHTS NOR LEAKS, AT CORRECT LEVEL FOR FLUID. REPLACED NEW TOYO TIRES AT 20,000 MILES.

The contact stated that the failure would impede his vision while driving at various speeds. The dealer was notified about the failure and gave him an estimate for the repair. I WAS DRIVING HOME YESTERDAY ON I-75 AND HEARD A LOUD BANG LIKE A GUN GOING OFF IN MY CAR. THERE WAS NO ONE AROUND ME AND I LOOKED AROUND AND DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING. LUCKILY, MY HUSBAND WAS ABOUT A MILE AWAY SO I CALLED HIM. WHEN HE GOT THERE I WAS SHAKING! HE WALKED AROUND MY CAR LOOKING FOR SOMETHING, BUT DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING. DRIVING DOWN I-75 I HEARD A LOUD BANG, LIKE A GUNSHOT, IN MY CAR. I FRANTICALLY STARTED LOOKING AROUND THE CAR AND DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING. I CALLED MY HUSBAND THAT WAS ABOUT A MILE AWAY TO COME CHECK MY CAR. MY HUSBAND GOT OUT AND WALKED AROUND THE CAR NOT SEEING ANYTHING IMMEDIATELY. HE WALKED TO ME AND GAVE ME HIS KEYS SO I COULD DRIVE HIS CAR HOME AND HE WAS GOING TO TAKE MINE. WALKING BACK TO THE CAR HE SAW THE SUNROOF BULGED UP. HE STOOD IN THE DOOR FRAME AND SAW A LARGE HOLE IN THE SUNROOF AND TOLD ME IT LOOKS LIKE IT EXPLODED OUTWARDS. LUCKILY THE SHADE WAS CLOSED SO I WAS NOT COVERED IN GLASS. NISSAN DOES NOT WANT TO FIX IT BECAUSE "THEY DIDN'T MAKE THE GLASS" ACCORDING TO THE REP I SPOKE TO. EVEN THOUGH IT WAS OEM AND INSTALLED IN A NISSAN FACTORY. STATE FARM WILL NOT COVER THE DAMAGES DUE TO IT BEING A MANUFACTURING DEFECT. THAT STICKS ME WITH THE $1900 BILL. NOW I AM TERRIFIED TO EVEN DRIVE THE CAR AND IT DOING IT AGAIN. BOTH SUN VISORS FAILED TO RECTRACT TO THE ORIGINAL POSITION WHICH LEAVES BOTH HANGING AND OBSTRUCTING THE DRIVERS AND PASSENGERS VIEW. FIRST IT WAS ONLY MID WAY WHICH LEAVES THEM HANGING VERY LOW. THEN THEY STOPPED LOCKING AT ALL.

WITHIN THE LAST YEAR+ BOTH FRONT WINDOWS HAVE FALLEN APART INSIDE OF THE DOOR AND STOPPED WORKING. BOTH TIMES JUST AS I HIT THE BUTTON TO POWER DOWN THE WINDOW. IT GETS 1-2 INCHES AND YOU HEAR EVERYTHING EXCEPT THE GLASS CLATTER TO THE BOTTOM OF THE DOOR. PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW NEVER USED; MAYBE HAS BEEN OPENED 15-20 TIMES. ALL STARTED OVER 60K MILES. NOTHING COVERED BY MANUFACTURER. HAD TO PAY EXTENDED WARRANTY DEDUCTIBLE. IT IS OBVIOUSLY A DEFECT IN DESIGN OR MATERIAL. BOTH TIMES THE CAR WAS STATIONARY. DRIVERS SIDE AT DRIVE THRU FOR COFFEE. PASSENGER SIDE SITTING IN PARKING SPACE. THIS CAR IS SUPER PAMPERED, GARAGE KEPT AND CLEAN, NO KIDS, NO PASSENGERS, BACK AND FORTH TO WORK, 95% ON 4 OR 6 LANE HIGHWAY.

SHUDDERING AND JUMPING IN LOW GEARED ACCELERATION, SEEMS AS IF THE TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING. JUST BOUGHT THE VEHICLE TODAYAYBE PUT 200 MILES ON IT SINCE BUYING IT.

THE STRUTS ON THE BACK LIFTGATE RUSTED AND SNAPPED WHEN THE TRUNK WAS OPENING. THE WAR WAS STATIONARY AT THE TIME. WE HIT THE BUTTON TO OPENED THE TRUNK IT STARTED TO OPEN AND THEN STOPPED.

SAT IDLING 30 MINUTES PUT CAR IN REVERSE NO POWER. PUT CAR IN DRIVE NO POWER. NEUTRAL STEPPED ON GAS ENGINES REVVED. TOWED TO DEALER DIONASTIC BAD TRANSMISSION. DEALER NOTIFIED NISSAN NORTH AMERICA WILLING TO SPLIT THE%44 $4400 REBUILD COST. CAR HAS 93K GARAGE KEPT DEALER MAINTAINED. APPARENTLY NISSAN SETTLED A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT TO EXTEND THE DRIVE TRAIN WARRANTY TO 90KMI. VERY DISSATISFIED THE CTV TRANSMISSION WAS POORLY ENGINEERED AND DESIGNED. THE REBUILT TRANSMISSION COME WITH A 1 YEAR OR 12KMI WARRANTY. NEVER AGAIN. STAY AWAY FROM MISSAN THEY DON'T STAND BEHIND THERE PRODUCT.
I PURCHASED THE CAR IN 2015 AND COMPLAINED ABOUT TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS THE DEALER SAID IT WAS OK, IN 2017 I BEGAN HAVING MORE TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS, THE DEALER DID SOME WORK AND ADJUSTMENTS AND ADDED A MONITOR OF SOME KIND AND CLAIMED EVERYTHING WAS FINE, NOW TODAY A DIAGNOSIC SHOWS MY TRANSMISSION IS NOT WORKING AGAIN AND THE DEALER HAS NO IDEA WHY, I HAVE ALWAYS FELT THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN TAKEN CARE OFF YEARS AGO BY REPLACING THE TRANSMISSION. THERE IS A DEFECT WITH THEM AND THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON NISSAN TRANSMISSION IT SEEMS MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING PROBLEM LIKE MY SELF. I PURCHASED THIS NISSAN CASH 1400.00 FROM A DEALER AND WITHIN A WEEK THE TRANSMISSION WILL JUDDER THEY CALL IT. THEY WILL ONLY BUY IT BACK FROM ME FOR 5000.00 BECAUSE OF THE CVT TRANSMISSION. THE VEHICLE IS CONSTANTLY JERKING AND JUMPING EVERY TIME YOU ACCELERATE EVEN EVEN WHEN ON FLAT PLAIN CITY STREET. I ORIGINALLY HAD THIS ISSUE LOOKED AT BACK IN JANUARY 3, 2020, WHICH I DIDN'T I HAVE THE CAR FOR 2 WEEKS THEN. TRANSMISSION REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT. I HAVE CONTACTED NISSAN CORPORATE AND GIVEN THEM THE CODES THAT HAVE COME UP AND THEY'RE BRUSHING ME OFF.
THERE IS A SHAKING/SHUDDERING WHEN TURNING AT SLOW SPEEDS, SUCH AS PULLING INTO A PARKING SPOT. ADDITIONALLY, THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL OCCASIONS, IN BOTH 2 WHEEL AND AUTO/4 WHEEL, WHERE THE VEHICLE MAKES A THUMP WHILE TURNING AND/OR ACCELERATING. THE ISSUES SEEM TO BE SIMILAR TO WHAT TSB NO.15-015A REFER TO. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE 11/07/18. THE THUMPING FIRST OCCURRED AROUND MAY/JUNE 2019 AND THE JUDDERING BEGAN TODAY 01/04/20
THE POWER LIFT GATE CYLINDER SNAPPED OFF AND TRUNK FALLS DOWN IMMEDIATELY AFTER OPENING. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY WHEN THIS HAPPENED AND ALMOST CAUSED AN INJURY.
I started having problems with my Nissan years ago where it did not have sufficient power and it stalled on a couple of occasions. I took my car to a Nissan dealership on May 2020 and they were not able to diagnose the problem. They recommended to replace the transmission but did not guarantee that will solve the issue. The problem got worse making my car very unsafe to drive and I took it to a different dealership on July of 2021 where they told me that I need to replace my transmission and they indicated that this would solve the issue. I went ahead with the repair which costed me close to $6K. Now I receive the recall notice describing exactly the problems that I was having. Nissan should've been open about this recall and not make me spend thousands to solve an issue that was caused by them.

DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE, THE SUNROOF EXPLODED.
VEHICLE HAS CONSTANTLY JERKED UNDER 30 MILES AN HOUR. I HAD THE COMPUTER REPROGRAMMED IN 2016 PER THE NISSAN RECALL BUT THE SHUDDER NEVER WENT AWAY. NISSAN SAID THAT I HAD TO DRIVE THROUGH THE SHUDDER. WELL TODAY MY TRANSMISSION WENT OUT AND NISSAN SAID THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. PLEASE DO NO BUY THIS CAR.
After dealership replaced the stop lamp switch and brake pedal position switch, they came back in less than 20 miles to say that the noise from my brakes was from the master cylinder and brake booster. A bill of over $1600 in which I feel is in no way my responsibility but Nissan and dealership rejected my request for assistance. I was hoping that the recall resolved the noise and shifting issues I have been complaining about to two Nissan dealership for almost 2 years. All of my Nissan vehicle services have been completed by Nissan dealerships including oil changes, brakes pads and rotors, battery replacement amongst other devices/ parts. I am a loyal customer to Nissan but disappointed in their response to this bill.
WHILE DRIVING THE CAR IS HAVING A HARD TIME PICKING UP SPEED AND SOMETIMES IT THE SPEED LIMIT WILL GO DOWN BY ITSELF, WITHOUT ME HAVING TO BREAK. I WAS IN MOTION A CITY STREET GOING UP A HILL WHEN THIS TRANSPIRED. THEN IT JERKS LIKE IT IS TRYING TO RUSH TO CATCH UP WITH THE REST OF THE MILEAGE. I HAVE A TRANSMISSION CODE THAT IS PRESENT OF 817F1-00. THAT I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT AND THEIR GIVING ME THE RUN AROUND. THEY WANT TO KNOW WHERE DID I GET IT FROM?! ITS LEGIT NOT TO MENTION THERE'S A PART RECALL ON IT, THEY WON'T HONOR!
THE VEHICLE SHUTTERS FEELING AS IF IT WILL STALL AT LOW RPM BETWEEN 10MPH TO 20MPH WHILE DRIVING IN HIGHWAY COMMUTER TRAFFIC. THIS WAS REPORTED TO MY DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES AT MULTIPLE SERVICE APPOINTMENTS SUCH AS OIL CHANGES. THE PROBLEM WAS PURPOSELY NOT DOCUMENTED ON MY SERVICE SHEETS AND I LEARNED THROUGH THE INTERNET OF WHAT MY PROBLEM WAS WHEN MY DEALERSHIP TELLS ME THEY COULD NOT DETECT A PROBLEM. THE CVT HAS BEEN A KNOWN PROBLEM WHEN THE WHOLE TIME I THOUGHT I HAD A FUEL OR ELECTRICAL PROBLEM WITH MY VEHICLE. THE DEALERSHIP WOULD HAVE KNOWN THIS AND KEPT ME IN THE DARK OF THIS PROBLEM. I FEEL VERY LET DOWN BY THE DEALERSHIP AND NISSAN AS THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM I KNOWN OF SINCE 50K MILES AND THE DEALERSHIP WOULD TELL ME NO PROBLEM WAS DETECTED.
ON MONDAY 12/9/2019 I WAS DRIVING THE PATHFINDER ALONE ON AUDELIA ROAD IN DALLAS TEXAS. THE SPEED LIMIT IS 35 MPH IN THIS AREA. I WAS THE ONLY PERSON IN THE VEHICLE AND THERE WAS NOTHING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. AROUND 11:00 AM I HEARD A LOUD EXPLOSION AND THE VEHICLE WAS FILLED WITH DUST WHILE IN MOTION. ASSUMING I WAS HIT I PULLED OVER AND EXITED MY CAR. AFTER I GOT OUT OF THE CAR I NOTICED THERE WERE NO OTHER CARS IN THE AREA. I WALKED AROUND THE OUTSIDE OF THE CAR AND SAW ZERO DAMAGE. (PHOTO ATTACHED) I LOOKED BACK INTO THE CAR AND THEN SAW THAT ALL OF THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED.(PHOTO ATTACHED) THE AIRBAGS ON THE DRIVER SIDE DID NOT DEPLOY. MY HEAD WAS POUNDING AND MY EYES HURT FROM ALL THE DUST THAT WAS SHOT OUT IN THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYING. AAA TOWED MY CAR TO TROPHY NISSAN IN MESQUITE TEXAS. THE DEALERSHIP WOULD NOT TOUCH THE VEHICLE AS THEY STATED IT WAS A MANUFACTURE ISSUE. I HAVE CALLED NISSAN AND STARTED THE PROCESS. THE ENGINEER SENT BY NISSAN HAS ASSESSED THE VEHICLE AND STATED THAT HE SEES NO PHYSICAL, ELECTRICAL OR AFTER MARKET PARTS THAT WOULD HAVE TRIGGERED THE FAILURE. (PHOTO ATTACHED) WE HAVE YET TO HEAR FROM NISSAN ON WHAT THEIR CONCLUSION IS BUT THE AIR BAG FAILURE IS A SERIOUS ISSUE AND COULD HAVE HURT MY INFANT CHILD SEVERELY AS THIS IS THE SIDE HER CAR SEAT IS LOCATED. LAST-WE ARE UNDER THE IMPRESSION WE HAD THE AIRBAG RECALL ISSUE REPAIRED IN APRIL 2019.TROPHY NISSAN WAS VERY MISLEADING WITH THEIR ANSWERS ON THE RECALL REPAIRS. PAPERWORK ATTACHED.*DT*JB
2014 NISSAN PATHFINDER HYBRID. MY VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE AFTER STOPPED AT A LIGHT; CAR SHAKES LIKE IT'S GOING TO STALL OUT; CAR SHAKES WHEN GOING AT LOW SPEEDS AND LIGHTLY PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL, IT SEEMS AS IF THE TRANSMISSIONS TRIES TO SHIFT BUT THE GEAR DOESN'T GO IN. MY VEHICLE SHIFTS INTO OD ON ITS OWN. ALSO STEERING WHEEL DOESN'T FEEL RIGHT. LASTLY, TRUNK CLOSES ABRUPTLY AFTER OPENING; HAS FALLEN ON MY HEAD SEVERAL TIMES.
AT LOW SPEED (15-20 MPH) THE TRANSMISSION SHUTTERS WHEN ACCELERATING. THIS HAPPENS MOST OFTEN WHEN GOING UP A SMALL/SLIGHT GRADE.
2014 PATHFINDER SV HYBRID 4WD PASSEGER AIRBAG SENSOR FRAME AND WIRING NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THE PASSENGER AIRBAG IS ALWAYS DEACTIVATED, EVEN IF AN ADULT PASSENGER IS SEATED IN IT, THERE IS ALSO AN AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT THAT FLASHES ON THE DASHBOARD. NISSAN'S OCS SYSTEM SEEMS TO BE FREQUENTLY COMPLAINED ABOUT ONLINE. THE DEALER SAYS THAT THIS IS JUST WEAR AND TEAR, WHICH I DON'T REALLY UNDERSTAND HOW A FRAME AND HARNESS FOR THE OCS (WHICH THEY SAY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED FOR $1200) COULD BE A WEAR AND TEAR ISSUE. I JUST WANTED TO REPORT THIS ISSUE IN CASE THERE HAVE BEEN OTHERS WHO HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM, AS THERE SEEMS TO HAVE ALREADY BEEN MANY RECALLS FOR THE AIRBAG SYSTEM IN THIS CAR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN PATHFINDER. WHILE DRIVING, THE CONTACT SMELLED A BURNING ODOR AND SMOKE APPEARED UNDER THE HOOD. THE CONTACT COASTED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND THE SMOKE STOPPED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO NAPA NISSAN (510 SOSCOL AVE, NAPA, CA 94559, (707) 253-1551) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A LEAK IN THE TRANSFER CASE AND METAL IN THE TRANSMISSION FLUID. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT ABLE TO BE REPAIRED BECAUSE THE FRONT AXLE WAS AIR CHISELED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 99,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
