I was driving the vehicle and it just stopped on the highway, no warning no kickback no precursor that something was wrong with the vehicle, and it stopped, the warning sign: Not available System malfunction came on and then the entire electrical system shut down. I had to have the car towed home because it would not start. I went to the dealer on several attempts and no help was rendered. I was told to either come back or there are too many cars, just really getting the run around for a matter that is fatal. I was driving with my family in the car and it just stopped. I almost had an accident, it could have been fatal. This is unacceptable.
The component that failed/malfunctioned is the instrument cluster and it is available for inspection upon request. The instrument cluster which displays the RPMs, miles, gas gauge, vehicle temperature, speedometer and other pertinent information while operating the vehicle has started to go out. If the entire panel goes completely out there is no way to see any of this information which could also lead to odometer fraud as well as other notifications that are displayed on there going unnoticed. I have taken the vehicle to the dealership to see what would need to be done. They stated the entire instrument cluster would need to be replaced. I feel like this should not already be happening on a not even 2 year old car. There was no warning or any other symptoms of the problem prior to this happening in February of 2026. The cost to replace the entire panel would be over $1200 and after speaking with one of the service technicians at the dealership he stated that this was not the first vehicle he has had in with the same issue. Nissan needs to address this issue because if you can't even get a new vehicle to last 2 years or 45,000 miles before it has a malfunction like this then what are we doing.
8/28/23: fuel pump replacement at just 16 miles, 10/12/23: check engine light with no documented repair, only that the code was cleared and the vehicle test driven, 12/18/25: pre-delivery inspection revealed clicking noise while turning and a leaking oil pressure switch requiring replacement parts and realignment, 1/19/26: check engine light on - battery replaced, 1/20/26: check engine light on - AF sensor bank 1 replaced, 1/22/26: check engine light on - fuel injector / lines replaced, 2/2/26: check engine light on - O2 sensor replaced, 2/5/26: failure to accelerate while driving - towed home due to dealership being closed, towed to dealership first thing the next morning and is currently under further investigation. Please see attached letter. Also, the dates reflected on the Carfax report are inaccurate.
Car has many problems with battery. The dealership stated the wires are coated with soy, which is a food source for rodents. I've had to get the wires replaced in the car but continue to have problems with the battery. I've had multiple times when the car is dead and needs a jump. The wiper fluid pump also recently stopped working. I'm not sure how the car has not been recalled yet, with coating food for animals how many more wires have been eaten. This car has been services by dealership 5 times in the last 4 months
Hello, My name is [XXX] . I need your help!! I bought a 2024 Nissan Pathfinder from Carvana for $41,000.00 at the end of November 2025 I reported some minor damage at the time we picked up the vehicle at Caravan [XXX] . Never heard back. I've only owned this car for 4 months and now the brakes have been screaming and my dashboard is lit up like a Christmas tree!!! All the tires are bald and the air conditioner does not work!!. Ughhh. I was on the phone with Carvana this morning for almost 2 hours.. And ultimately there nothing they can do for me. One the 7 days of course is over the 100 day coverage is gone. I purchased xtra coverage but of course that doesn't cover anything that is wrong with the car... The car has been towed to a shop.. Waiting to hear what the bill is gonna be Yikesss!! HELP!!! I FEEL I HAVE BEEN SOLD A LEMON!! I'm not asking for anything just to repair this vehicle as it should have been before I bought. Selling a vehicle that is less than 2 years old in this condition is not good business practices. This is not right. Hope you can help Sincerely, [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Since we purchased the vehicle we noticed that power outlet would not work. We have taken this vehicle back to the dealership and even though they "fix it" as soon as we drive it out within in one or two hours it will give out again. The last time we took it they said not to use "off the market" cellphone chargers because that is what is making it not work. Then the AC has also stopped working a couple of times. All of sudden the truck will blow out hot instead of cold air. We have to stop the vehicle, turn it off and let it rest and then the AC will be back up. They have supposedly looked into it. Lastly, this vehicle has on several occasions not accelerated while we are on the road. Even though the speed limit is 75mph it will not move faster than 40mph. At the same time the service lights on the dashboard begin to turn on/off. It has been very difficult because the last time we took the vehicle to the shop it was in there for more than 30 days. I am very concerned that although they say the "fix it" the vehicle can stop running on me and I can have a serious accident with my family in inside.
The auto stop/start function. When enabled sometimes it shuts off engine and does not restart as the system should. Stopping at a red light, almost completely but light turns green and you go to accelerate but auto/stop shuts engine off and car dies in middle of intersection. You have to put in park restart engine and put in drive. Has happened to us 4 times with only 14k on car. Shop can’t seem to see what wrong. Car dies set faults but as soon as you restart car faults go away and Nissan says they can’t see any stored faults. They changed fuel pump put it did. It did not fix the issue. Happens again.
Stop/Start system works intermittently, the button that activates and deactivates the system keeps failing, the dealership has repaired it 5 times and still doesn’t work which when driving creates uncertainty if the motor will cut out and the electriconics of the vehicle is compromised
I was at a stop sign the auto start stop was on. The car stopped engine off while at the stop sign. I heard a chime Ive never heard before, pressed gas pedal and didnt move. Realized the car was off and now was in neutral. It took me a couple minutes to get the car back on and continue on my way. This a brand new car at the time had approx 1025 miles on it. I have now made an appt at the dealership to trouble shoot the issue.
Issue with 360 around view monitor. Picture quality for the 4 cameras at night is very poor. Backing up at night is quite challenging as the picture from the cameras are very fuzzy. If something comes from behind like an animal or a child, it is very difficult to see them. The whole purpose of the backup cameras is to increase safety when backing up. Unfortunately I’ve address this issue with two Nissan dealers and was told that this is normal as designed feature. I had several Nissans before and the picture quality was fantastic, until the 2024 Nissan pathfinder. I hope that someone will start the investigation and address this safety issue.
As a result of service on this vehicle that was provided by Nissan of McKinney in McKinney, Texas the vehicle was intentionally returned to the owner after servicing in an unsafe condition. The service included removal of a trailer hitch receiver and electrical harness that had been installed earlier. After the service and the electrical harness removal, the vehicle was left with exposed electrical conductors underneath the rear bumper that are exposed to the external contaminated road environment. This results in a potential for electrical fire, electrical harness damage, and possible explosion with the exposed electrical conductors so near the fuel tank. The problem has been reported to Nissan of McKinney several times, who, while they acknowledge having received the communications, have not commented on the condition in which they left the vehicle, and will not state if this is a safety issue.
