WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH THE HEADLIGHTS FAILED. THIS CAUSED POOR VISIBILITY TO THE CONSUMER. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE MECHANIC TO HAVE IT INSPECTED AND WAS TOLD THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM HAD FAILED. *JB
REAR PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW FELL OUT OF THE VAN WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH WITH CAUSE UNKNOWN. NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND NISSAN CORPORATION DO NOT WANT TO REPAIR THE WINDOW UNDER WARRANTY NOR FEEL THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE. NLM
CONSUMER COMPLAINED THAT THE HEADLIGHTS GO OUT INTERMITTENTLY WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT. DEALER WAS NOTIFIED AND THEY REPLACED THE HEADLAMP CONNECTORS, BUT THE PROBLEMS RECURRED. *AK
FRONT BRAKE PADS WEAR UNEVENLY AND REQUIRE FREQUENT REPLACEMENT. PADS HAVE BEEN REPLACED 5 TIMES IN 36000 MILES. *NLM
WHEN TAKING OFF FROM A STOP, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL IS HARD. THE PEDAL DID NOT GO DOWN AND THE VEHICLE FAILED TO MOVE. *AK *JB
THE VEHICLE HAS JERKED DUE TO THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL STICKING. THE PROBLEM HAS WORSENED. *AK *SCC
FAULTY HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY: THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY IN THE VAN MELTED DUE TO HEAT AND CORROSION. THE PARTS DEPARTMENT OF THE DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME THAT HE HAD SEEN LOTS OF THIS PROBLEM AND ALWAYS OVERSTOCKED THIS PART. DEALER STATED THAT I MUST HAVE NOT REPLACED THE BOOT COVERING CORRECTLY AND IT WAS NOT NISSANS FAULT I HAD TO PAY FOR THE REPLACEMENT. IT HAPPENED AGAIN I GOT THE SAME ANSWER. NOT NISSANS FAULT. *LA
WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP VEHICLE WOULD LURCH FORWARD, GAS PEDAL WAS HARD TO PRESS, TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER, AND DEALER REPLACED THROTTLE TO STOP ACCELERATOR FROM STICKING. *AK *SLC
I NOTICED THIS MORNING THAT THE MIDDLE THREAD ON BOTH DRIVER SIDE TIRES WAS WORN TO A SHINY BLACK SURFACE. THE OTHER TWO TIRES WERE NOTICEABLY WORN. NISSAN DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT SEVERAL QUEST OWNERS HAVE HAD SAME PROBLEM, BUT OTHERWISE DID NOT ASSIST ME. GENERAL TIRE PROVIDE IMMEDIATE ASSISTANCE AND I NOW HAVE REPLACEMENT TIRES. I AM CONCERNED AS MY TIRES HAVE BEEN PROPERLY MAINTAINED (ROTATED EVERY SIX THOUSAND MILES) AND SHOULD NOT HAVE THIS TYPE OF WEAR.*AK (TIRESIZE: P215/70R15)
MY NISSAN QUEST(2000 MODEL) HAD PAINT CHIPS ON THE HOOD AFTER A YEAR WHEN THE CAR WAS PURCHASED. WHEN WE RELATED THE PROBLEM TO THE DEALER THE COMPANY INSPECTOR CAME OUT TO TELL US THE CAR WAS JUST REPAINTED AND SAID THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT AND TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE THEY DIDN'T EVEN HAVE A RECORD THAT THE CAR WAS REPAINTED! I WAS SO OUTRAGED THAT THEY HAD THE GALL TO LIE TO ME! BASICALLY THE CAR'S PAINT WAS MARRED AND IT WASN'T EVEN TEN YEARS AFTER THE CAR WAS BOUGHT, AND THEY STILL DID NOTHING. I WISH TO WARN OTHER NISSAN DRIVERS THAT THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS UNRELIABLE AND SHOULD NOT BE RELIED UPON. THAT IS ALL.*AK

WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH REAR PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW BLEWOUT WITH A LOUD NOISE. NISSAN REFUSED TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY.*AK *SLC
THE VAN SUDDENLY WENT FROM "PARK" INTO "REVERSE" AFTER NEARLY 5 MINUTES IN "PARK". MY WIFE WAS DRAGGED DOWN THE DRIVEWAY WITH KIDS IN THE BACK SEAT. THE VAN CRASHED INTO OUR RETAINING WALL AFTER MY WIFE WAS THROWN AGAINST A TREE.*AK
WE HAVE A 2000 NISSAN QUEST MINIVAN. WE HAVE ELECTRONIC REMOTES TO LOCK/UNLOCK THE DOORS. OUR 8 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER, JENNA, HAD HER FINGERS ACCIDENTLY SLAMMED IN THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR. THERESA, THE MOM, WAS INSIDE THE CAR & TRIED TO OPEN THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR TO FREE JENNA'S FINGERS. EVERY TIME THERESA TRIED TO OPEN THE DOOR, ALL THE DOORS ON THE VAN WOULD LOCK & THE LIGHTS WOULD FLASH. FINALLY, TONY, THE DAD, WAS ABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE AND FREE JENNA'S FINGERS.*AK
TAILGATE WAS IN THE UP POSITION FOR A FEW MINUTES WHEN IT SUDDENLY CAME CRASHING DOWN. RIGHT SIDE METAL ARM ATTACHED TO LIFT GATE HAD SNAPPED AND WAS BENT. NO INJURIES. *AK
WAS HAVING VEHICLE SERVICED WHEN PROBLEM WITH BRAKE PADS WAS NOTICED. HAD NO WARNING THAT PADS WERE THIN AND WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED AT 15,000 MILES. CONTACTED REPRESENTATIVE, INFORMED CONSUMER VEHICLE WAS HEAVY IN FRONT WHICH CAUSED PADS TO WEAR OUT QUICKLY. *AK
WHILE DRIVING UPHILL AT 45 MPH CONSUMER MOVED TO LEFT LANE TO PASS A VEHICLE, VEHICLE WAS A BIT SLOW PASSING, SO CONSUMER FLOORED GAS PEDAL, BUT NOTHING HAPPENED. SUDDENLY VEHICLE STARTED ACCELERATING, CONSUMER TRIED TO BRAKE, BUT BRAKE PEDAL DID NOT MOVE. VEHICLE REACHED 60-65 MPH, CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO PULL INTO DIRT ROAD ON SIDE OF ROAD, USED EMERGENCY BRAKE AND TUNED OFF IGNITION. DEALER FOUND THROTTLE CABLE HAD SNAPPED, WAS FRAYED ON BOTH SIDES. NISSAN ADMITTED CABLE WAS INSTALLED INCORRECTLY AT FACTORY. *AK CONSUMER STATES THERE WAS A KINK IN THROTTLE CABLE FROM THE FACTORY. *JB
ACCELERATOR STICK WHEN TAKING OFF FROM A STOP. WHEN QUESTIONED DEALER SAYS VEHICLE NEEDS THE FUEL SYSTEM CLEANED. *AK
CONSUMER STATES WHEN PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL THERE IS A MAJOR DELAY IN ACCELERATION. CONSUMER STATES CAR WILL SUDDENLY LURCH FORWARD. NLM CONSUMER ALSO STATES BRAKE PEDAL SQUEAKS, THE STEERING WHEEL WHINES AND THE FRONT DRINK CUP HOLDER WOULD NOT WORK. *YH
NISSAN REFUSED TO PERFORM INVESTIGATION ON THIS FIRST INCIDENT WHEN THIS TIRE BLEW UP. THE SECOND INCIDENT WAS MORE DANGEROUS THAN THE FIRST ONE WHEN WE WERE DRIVING ACROSS THE BRIDGE. ON. *AK (TIRESIZE: P215-70R15)

VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONTAL COLLOSION AT 55-60MPH. UPON IMPACT, AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, RESULTING IN MINOR INJURIES. VEHICLE HAS BEEN TOTALED. DEALER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED.*AK
NOT A SAFETY DEFECT THAT I AM COMPLAINING ABOUT, BUT A COSMETIC I GUESS YOU WOULD SAY. WE PURCHASED THE MINIVAN IN NOV 99, BY AUG OF 2000 WE NOTICED CRACKS ON THE ROOF - THE PAINT OF THE VEHICLE'S ROOF IS NOW TOTALLY PEELED OFF AND RUSTY THE HOOD IS CRACKING TOO. SINCE AUG 2000 WE HAVE BEEN TRYING TO FIND OUT HOW TO GO ABOUT HAVING THE PAINT REPAIRED. WE HAVE GOTTEN THE RUN AROUND FROM THEN UNTIL NOW. THE VEHICLE IS NOW OUT OF WARRANTY RANGE SO THAT IS NOW THE REASON NISSAN CLAIMS THAT THEY CANNOT RE-PAINT IT. SEVERAL BODY SHOPS HAVE STATED AND WRITTEN THAT THE VAN DOES NOT HAVE PRIMER UNDER THE PAINT WHICH IS WHY IT IS PEELING THE WAY IT IS. IT IS CERTAINLY NOT FAIR TO ANY CONSUMER REGARDLESS OF WHAT THE MILEAGE ON A VEHICLE IS THAT A VEHICLE BOUGHT NEW AND IS LESS THAN 4 YRS OLD NEEDS TO BE REPAINTED BECAUSE OF A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT!
WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 50-55 MPH, DRIVER HEARD A NOISE AND SUDDENDLY LOST CONTROL OF VAN. VAN DID A 360 DEGREE TURN AND CRASHED INTO A MEDIAN STRIP. PROBLEM WAS DUE TO A BROKEN AXLE. DEALERSHIP/MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFED ABOUT THE PROBLEM. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION. *AK
WHILE DRIVING TOO FAST WENT DOWN INTO A DIP OR UP A DRIVEWAY WHICH CAUSED BOTTOM OF VEHICLE TO HIT THE GROUND. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK
WHILE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND THE KEY WAS NOT PLACED IN IGNITION, AND WITH A CHILD INSIDE, VEHICLE ROLLED, CRASHING TO A RETAINER WALL. AT TIME PARKING PAWL WAS NEUTRAL. CURRENTLY, CONSUMER DOES NOT KNOW IF PAWL WAS MOVED BY CHILD OR IT ROLLED BY ITSELF. *AK
SEAT BELT IN MIDDLE SEAT KEEPS TIGHTENING OWN ITS OWN. SEAT BELT TIGHTENS UNTIL ALOT OF PRESSURE IS ON CHEST. TO RELEASE PRESSURE CONSUMER HAS TO UNBUCKLE BELT.*AK
CONSUMER WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT WHERE THE VEHICLE RAN OFF THE ROAD AND HIT A TREE, BOTH AIRBAGS DEPLOYED, HOWEVER THE CONSUMER STILL SUSTAINED INJURIES, CONSUMER FEELS THAT THE AIRBAGS ARE USELESS AND THAT THEY BARELY COVERED THE STEERING WHEEL PROVIDING LITTLE PROTECTION. *SLC

DEALER HAS NOT RECEIVED PARTS TO REPAIR RECALL. CONSUMER HAS BEEN TRYING TO HAVE THIS FIXED SINCE JANUARY, BUT RECEIVED LETTER IN DECEMBER.*AK THE CONSUMER STATES THAT FIXING THE DEFECT REQUIRD MORE THAN 3 MONTHS. THE CONDITON HAD PUT THE CONSUMER AT RISK. *YH
WHILE DRIVING 60MPH STEERING WHEEL WOULD SHAKE.IT WOULD BE HARD TO CONTROL VEHICLE. HAD TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP, AND WAS INFORMED BY MECHANIC THAT IT WAS A TIRE PROBLEM. HAD TIRES ROTATED AND BALANCED. *AK
THE VEHICLE KEEPS ACCELERATING AT THE SAME SPEED AFTER THE CONSUMER HAS STOPPED PUSHING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP FIVE TIMES, BUT THE DEALER IS UNABLE TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. *YH
SERVICE ENGINE CAME ON @37,000 MI., WARRANTY EXPIRED AT 36,000? DEALER CANNOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM, I HAVE RETURNED TO SHOP 3 TIMES AND NOW LEFT THE VAN AT THE SHOP TO SEE IF IT CAN BE REPAIRED. I AM WITHOUT A VEHICLE AND DO NOT KNOW IF THE VAN IS SAFE OR NOT TO DRIVE. DEALERSHIP DOES NOT TELL ME ANYTHING. I FIND IT STRANGE THAT THIS ENGINE CHECK SOON" INDICATOR CAME ON 1,000 MI LES AFTER WARRANTY EXPIRED. DEALERSHIP HAS REPLACED AN OXYGEN SENSOR BUT PROBLEM CONTINUED. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THE VAN UNTIL THIS IS RESOLVED.*AK
