DASH CRACK ON THE PASSENGER SIDE.
BROKEN DRIVER SIDE DOOR LOCK ACCUATOR CAUSED THE DOOR TO NOT OPEN. THE MECHANICAL DOOR LOCK SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONED RESULTING IN A DOOR THAT IS LOCKED AND WILL NOT UNLOCK TO OPEN. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD THAT WILL PREVENT SAFE EXIT IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY.
Dashboard has a square cut on the passnger side, it is like a blade cut.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CVT FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 71,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 NISSAN QUEST. WHILE IN PARK, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START. IN ADDITION, WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE AND THE TRANSMISSION WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION AND MULTIPLE PARTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 114,000.
OUR MINIVAN WAS STOPPED AT A LIGHT AND WOULDN'T ACCELERATE WHEN PRESSING THE GAS, IT HESITATED FOR A FEW SECONDS AND THEN JOLTED FORWARD, CAUSING THE VEHICLE BEHIND US TO DRIVE OFF ROAD TO AVOID A COLLISION.

THOUGH MY VEHICLE WAS NOT SUBJECT TO A RECALL I HAD THE SAME ISSUE AS THE OTHER VEHICLES THAT HAD BEEN RECALLED. WITH 40 MILES LEFT TO GO, ACCORDING TO MY GAUGE, MY VEHICLE STALLED IN TRAFFIC, ON TWO DIFFERENT OCCASIONS, WHILE TURNING LEFT INTO GAS STATIONS. WHEN I PRESENTED THIS ISSUE TO A DEALER AND TO NISSAN AMERICA I WAS TOLD MY VEHICLE WAS NOT SUBJECT TO A RECALL, EVEN THOUGH IT WAS FOR THE SAME PROBLEM AND REQUIRED THE SAME REPAIR AS THE RECALLED VEHICLES. I WAS CHARGED OVER $300 FOR REPROGRAMMING MY COMPUTER.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 NISSAN QUEST. WHEN THE FUEL TANK REACHED A QUARTER TANK AND THE VEHICLE WAS IN A DECLINE, THE VEHICLE SHUT DOWN. THE VEHICLE WAS COASTED TO THE BOTTOM OF THE DECLINE FROM WHERE THE CONTACT PROCEEDED TO PURCHASE FUEL AND FILLED THE TANK ABOVE A QUARTER OF THE TANK. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED (COUGHLIN AUTOMOTIVE IN NEWARK, OHIO) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT ONE OF THE FUEL SENSORS WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 70,000.
I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE NOT KNOWING THIS VEHICLE HAD PRIOR OWNER TRANS PROBLEM WITH DEALER. AT ABOUT A MONTH TO TWO MONTH AFTER I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE AT 68300 IN THE BUSY CALIFORNIA TRAFFIC THE VEHICLE STALLED ON ME FOOT ON THE GAS BUT TRANS IS NOT MOVING. THIS IS THE DIAGNOSIS: DOC CODES P0725 ENGINE SPEED * P0746 PIC SOLIENOID A * P0776 PIC SOLENOID B * P0868 FLUID PRESSURE LOW * P1701 TCM. * P1722 VEHICLE SPEED SIGNAL AND * P1778 STEP MOTOR IN TRANSMISSION CVT TRANS BURNT REPLACEMENT WAS RECOMMENDED AT A COST $ 3110,81 AND LABOR COST $ 1619,00 . TRANS WAS DONE BY AUGUST 14 2014 IN NOVEMBER 2015 THE SAME THING AGAIN TOO MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THIS TRANS IN CARS AN VANS THE DEALER IS DOING NOTHING ABOUT IT. IMAGINE 3 TIMES SAME VEHICLE AND IT' UNDER 70,000 MILES
OUR AC QUIT WORKING AND WE WERE INFORMED THAT THE AC LINES HAD HOLES IN THEM DUE TO CORROSION. THIS IS ABSURD FOR A VEHICLE ONLY THREE YEARS OLD. REPAIR ESTIMATE IS $1700 DUE TO THE FACT THAT THEY HAVE TO DROP THE SUBFRAME IN ORDER TO ACCESS THE CORRODED LINES. CLEARLY THIS IS A VEHICLE DEFECT AND NISSAN SHOULD TAKE RESPONSIBLITY FOR THE SUBSTANDARD MATERIAL USED IN THESE LINES. WE APPEAR TO BE THE SECOND CONSUMER REPORTING THIS ISSUE ON THIS SITE.
I WAS DRIVING TODAY WITH MY FAMILY ON MY 2012 NISSAN QUEST WHEN ALL OF THE SUDDEN THE RIGHT BACK DOOR OPEN AND CLOSE WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, LUCKILY MY DAUGHTER WAS WEARING HER SEAT BELT AND NOTHING HAPPENED THIS IS UNSAFE, THIS IS AN UNSAFE CAR TO DRIVE, I WENT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THEY CANT FIX IT BECAUSE IS A LONG WEEKEND AND THEY DONT WANT TO WORK. THIS IS NOT THE WAY TO TREAT A CUSTOMER, YOU GET PAY TO WORK THEN DO YOU JOB. NISSAN ARE THE WORSE CAR. I WILL HOLD NISSAN 100% RESPONSIBLE IF SOMETHING HAPPENS TO ME OR MY FAMILY WHILE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE.
DASH IS CRACKED ALONG PERIMETER OF PASSENGER AIR BAG.
OUR VEHICLES AIR CONDITIONING PIPES HAVE CORRODED THROUGH TO THE POINT WHERE THE LINE HAS HOLES IN IT . THE REPAIR IS 1,200.00 WHICH IS EXTREME FOR A VEHICLE THAT IS ONLY THREE YEARS OLD AND HAS ONLY SEEN 2.5 WINTERS. OUR OTHER VEHICLE HAS SEEN FIVE WINTERS AND HAS BEEN DRIVEN IN THE SAME CONDITIONS HAS HAS NOT ONE BIT OF RUST ON IT. THE VEHICLES CONSTRUCTION OR DEFECTIVE PARTS MUST BE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE AND NISSAN SHOULD CLAIM RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS.
THE CVT TRANSMISSION IS GOING OUT IN OUT 2012 NISSAN QUEST AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. VEHICLE WILL NOT ACCELERATE AFTER COMING TO A STOP. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SOLENOID NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS EXHIBITING SAME FAILURES AS MENTIONED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V076000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,499.
THE VEHICLE HAS DEVELOPED A HESITATION FROM A STOP POSITION. WHEN YOU ARE STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT AND TRY TO ACCELERATE, THE VEHICLE HESITATES. IT DOES NOT DO IT ALL THE TIME BUT IT IS GETTING MORE FREQUENT. I HAD THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP BEFORE THE WARRANTY RAN OUT. THEY SAID NOTHING WRONG. I HAVE ALSO TALKED TO NISSAN CUSTOMER RELATIONS (MARK @ 615-725-7561) AND WAS ASSIGNED A CASE NUMBER (19100795). I FEEL LIKE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE WHICH SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BY NISSAN. I KNOW THERE IS A RECALL ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND HILLS AND LOW GAS. I NEVER LET MY GAS TANK GET BELOW 1/2 TANK AND WHERE I LIVE AND DRIVE THERE ARE NO HILLS. I AM DOCUMENTING THIS ISSUE IN CASE AN ACCIDENT RESULTS, IN WHICH CASE NISSAN WILL HEAR ABOUT IT AGAIN.
ENGINE MOUNT FOUND BROKEN DURING OIL CHANGE. CHANGED AND FOUND BROKEN AGAIN AT ABOUT 50000. CHANGED AND FOUND BROKEN A THIRD TIME AT 75000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 NISSAN QUEST. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN. THE FAILURE CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO CRASH INTO A WALL. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES AND THE VEHICLE WAS DAMAGED EXTENSIVELY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,000.
MAY 2014, I HAD A WET DRIVER SIDE A PILLAR THAT WAS LEAKING. NISSAN ATTRIBUTED IT TO A DEFECTIVE SUNROOF WITH A CRACK. THE HEADLINER, SUBWOOFER AND AMPLIFIER WERE REPLACED. ON JULY 10, 2015, I TOOK MY CAR TO A FLAGSHIP CARWASH. AFTER MY CAR WAS WASHED I NOTICED WATER ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE REAR SUNROOF AND ON THE HEADLINER IN THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE ON BOTH THE RIGHT AND LEFT SIDES OF THE CAR WAS WET IN ALL THE ABOVE NOTED LOCATIONS. MY RADIO ALSO STOPPED WORKING. NISSAN HAD MY CAR FOR FIVE DAYS AND SAID THEY COULD NOT RECREATE THE LEAK OR DETERMINE WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THE RADIO. THEY WOULD NOT LOOK AT THE RADIO AS IT WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY. I TOOK MY CAR TO A LOCAL RADIO REPAIR SHOP AND THEY DISCOVERED RUST BEHIND THE PANELS IN THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE, IN THE CARGO AREA AND 2 INCHES OF WATER UNDER MY CARGO AREA. VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED FEB 2013 NEW.

ACCORDING TO TOYO THE A22 235/55/18 TIRE IS A CUSTOM PART MANUFACTURED TO NISSAN SPECS.AFTER CONDUCTING AN INTERNET SEARCH THERE ARE MANY MENTIONS OF NISSAN QUEST TIRES WEARING EARLY.MY BELIEF IS THAT THE TOYO TIRE DOES NOT MATCH THE VEHICLE WEIGHT, OR THE TIRE IS DEFECTIVE. THE RAPID WEAR EXPERIENCED WITH THESE TIRES TIRES CAN JEOPARDIZE THE SAFETY OF THE PASSENGERS&MOTORISTS. AN ADDITIONAL COMPLAINT TO NISSAN IS BEING FILED STATING THAT THE TIRE IS NOT ROBUST ENOUGH FOR THE VEHICLE WEIGHT IT IS HANDLING. MY WIFE HAS EXPERIENCED DIFFICULTY IN WET CONDITIONS WHEN HANDLING THE VEHICLE, I BELIEVE THIS IS DUE TO THE ABNORMAL TREAD WEAR. TOYO HAS OFFERED A 35% WEAR WARRANTY ON THE TIRES. NISSAN HAS DENIED ANY WARRANTY CLAIM OR ASSISTANCE FOR THE INSTALLATION OF THE TIRES. THIS SITUATION REMINDS BE OF THE TIRE RECALLS SURROUNDING THE FORD EXPLORER IN 2000. I ASKED IF THE COMPLAINT COULD BE REPORTED.SHE SAID THERE WAS NO OTHER MECHANISM TO REPORT THIS WITHIN NISSAN. I HAVE 20,000 MILES ON MY CAR AND MY TIRES NEED REPLACING! I PURCHASED IT NEW IN APRIL 2012. I HAVE HAD IT FOR A YEAR AND A HALF. I DRIVE IT CAREFULLY AND HAVE THE TIRES ROTATED WHEN NEEDED. AUTOMATIC REAR DOORS CANNOT BE STOPPED FROM CLOSING ONCE ACTIVATED AND A PERSON CAN GET CRUSHED IN THE DOOR.
MY CAR RANDOMLY ACCELERATED ON 2 OCCASIONS , MAY 30, 2013 AND JUNE 27, 2013. THE FIRST INCIDENT RESULTED IN A CRASH, HITTING A POLE, TREE, AND ANOTHER VEHICLE. 2ND INCIDENT WAS A NEAR MISS, ALMOST HAD A HEAD ON COLLISION WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE. I REALIZED THAT I WAS GOING FASTER THAN ALL CARS AROUND ME ON ROAD. UPON CHECKING WITH GPS ON IPHONE AND TOMTOM GPS DEVICE , THE VEHICLE INDICATED 60MPH ON SPEEDOMETER, BUT BOTH GPS DEVICES INDICATED 70MPH. IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO DRIVE IN THE RAIN OR OTHER WEATHER CONDITIONS. THE CONTACT SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL AND WAS ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE ON THE SHOULDER. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING HOWEVER, THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER PRIOR TO THE FAILURE FOR REPAIRS UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 12V076000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: SOFTWARE). THE CONTACT STATED THE FAILURE COULD HAVE BEEN RELATED TO THE RECALL REPAIR BECAUSE THERE WERE NO FAILURES PRIOR TO THE VEHICLE BEING SERVICED UNDER THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 16,000.
I WAS PARKED ON A SLOPE, WITH ABOUT 1/8 A TANK OF GAS AND THE VAN WOULD NOT START. I WAS ABLE TO START THE VEHICLE AFTER I PUT IT IN NEUTRAL AND ROLLED IT TO LEVEL GROUND. I GOOGLED THE PROBLEM AND FOUND OUT THERE WAS A RECALL, WHICH I WAS NEVER INFORMED ABOUT. I TOOK THE VAN INTO THE LOCAL NISSAN SHOP AND THEY PERFORMED THE RECALL FIX. WHEN I ASKED WHY I WASN'T NOTIFIED OF THE RECALL, THEY SAID THAT MY VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED AFTER THE DATES COVERED BY THE RECALL, BUT IT WAS OBVIOUSLY AFFECTED BY THE SAME ISSUE (AND THAT THE DATES IN THE RECALL MUST BE "OFF"). THE RECALL NUMBER IS 12V076000, IT COVERS VEHICLES MANUFACTURED BETWEEN 7/29/2010 AND 2/21/2012. MY VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED ON 2/23/2012, AND HAS THE SAME ISSUE. *TR

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS FAILED TO CLEAR THE ENTIRE WINDSHIELD, WHICH CREATED A BLIND SPOT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER HOWEVER, THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE REPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34. CAR WAS PARKED ON A PARKING LOT ON A VERY SLIGHT DECLINE. LOW FUEL INDICATOR JUST CAME ON BUT DISTANCE TO EMPTY INDICATOR STILL SHOWS 50+ MILES. VEHICLE STARTED AT FIRST BUT STARTED TO SHUDDER AND THEN ENGINE DIED. TRIED RESTARTING A FEW TIMES BUT IT WILL JUST SHUT OFF RIGHT AWAY. ALL ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS WERE FINE (RADIO, LIGHTS, ETC). HAD TO PUT 2 GALLONS OF GAS TO GET IT TO START AGAIN. DROVE TO THE GAS STATION RIGHT AWAY AND FILLED IT UP WITH ONLY 14.5 GALLONS OF TANK. MANUAL SAYS VEHICLE HAS 20 GALLON FUEL TANK CAPACITY. I WAS AWARE OF THE RECALL (CAMPAIGN: 12V076000) BUT INITIALLY THOUGHT THAT MY VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED SINCE THE CAMPAIGN WAS BACK IN MARCH 2012 AND I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE IN JULY 2012. WAS LATER CONFIRMED BY NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND DEALER SERVICE ADVISOR THAT MY CAR WAS INDEED NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. HOWEVER, CAR SHOWS SIMILAR SYMPTOMS WITH SAME MODEL CARS THAT WERE RECALLED. *TR

NUMBER: 12V076000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: SOFTWARE) BEFORE PURCHASING THE VEHICLE AND THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE DID NOT FALL UNDER THE RECALL. THE CONTACT DID NOT TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 500.
3 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING A BRAND NEW 2012 NISSAN QUEST (PURCHASED VEHICLE ON 04/15/2012), I WAS DRIVING DOWN A HILL AT A LOW RATE OF SPEED WHEN THE ENGINE SHUT OFF AND THE CAR STATED THERE WAS NO MORE GAS, EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS A QUARTER TANK. CARS BEHIND ME SLAMMED ON THEIR BRAKES AND LUCKILY WE WERE NOT HIT. I PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AND AFTER COASTING DOWN THE HILL AND REACHING A LEVEL PART OF THE ROAD, MY CAR STARTED AGAIN AND TOLD ME THAT I HAD A QUARTER TANK. AFTER TAKING THE CAR TO THE DEALER, I LEARNED THERE WAS AN OPEN RECALL CAMPAIGN (NHTSA RECALL 12V076) ON THE 2012 QUEST AND THE REMEDY WAS NOT PERFORMED PRIOR TO ME PURCHASING THE VEHICLE, WHICH IS AGAINST REGULATIONS AS THE RECALL CAMPAIGN WAS STARTED BY NISSAN BEFORE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. ON 06/20/2012 (1 DAY AFTER THE INCIDENT) I TOOK THE CAR TO A NISSAN DEALER TO BE REPAIRED AND THE PROBLEM WAS SUPPOSEDLY FIXED AT TOWN CENTER NISSAN UNDER R/O NUMBER 6012078/1. ON SEPTEMBER 26TH I STARTED TO TURN INTO AN INTERSECTION ON A GREEN ARROW WHEN MY CAR SHUT OFF AND SAID I WAS OUT OF GAS, (A MINUTE PRIOR TO THAT THE CAR SAID I HAD 37 MILES AND A QUARTER TANK LEFT). I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED (THE CAR HAD TO SWERVE INTO ANOTHER LANE) AND GOOD SAMARITANS PUSHED ME INTO A PARKING LOT CLOSE BY. I REALIZE THAT NHTSA HAS ALREADY ACTED ON THE PROBLEM MY CAR EXPERIENCED, BUT I FEEL SOMETHING SHOULD BE DONE WITH REGARDS TO THE DEALER "GWINNETT PLACE NISSAN" WHO SOLD ME THE CAR WITHOUT FIRST FIXING THE PROBLEM (SINCE IT WAS A BRAND NEW CAR). I ALSO WANT NHTSA TO BE AWARE THAT THE "FIX" SO FAR HAS NOT WORKED FOR MY VEHICLE. WE ARE GIVING THEM A "FINAL REPAIR OPPORTUNITY NOTICE" VIA THE LEMON LAW. *TR

MY NEW 2012 NISSAN QUEST GOES DEAD AND WILL NOT START WHEN SITTING ON A DOWNHILL SLOPE IN THE FRONT. IT HAS GAS BUT IT WILL SPUTTER AND WILL NOT START. VEHICLE STALLED WHILE TRAVELING UP A 2-3% GRADE. IT APPEARED TO RUN OUT OF FUEL ALTHOUGH THE NAVIGATION DISPLAY INDICATED THERE WERE 21 MILES UNTIL EMPTY. THE FUEL GAUGE ALSO INDICATED FUEL REMAINED. THE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING ABOUT 45 MPH AND FORTUNATELY IT COASTED TO THE TOP OF THE GRADE. AT THAT POINT, THE ENGINE BEGAN RECEIVING FUEL ONCE AGAIN AND KICKED IN. THIS APPEARS TO BE SIMILAR TO PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED ON THE 2011 MODEL YEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING ON A TWO LANE NARROW ROAD AROUND A BLIND CURVE WITH NO PLACE TO PULL OFF. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION HAD THE VEHICLE'S MOMENTUM NOT CARRIED IT TO THE TOP OF THE GRADE. CONTACTED THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP WHERE PURCHASED ON 02/06/2012 AND THE GM STATED THAT IT WAS THE SECOND CALL ABOUT A 2012 QUEST FUEL ISSUE HE HAS RECEIVED. THE OTHER INVOLVED A VEHICLE PARKED ON AN INCLINE THAT WOULD NOT START AND APPEARED TO NOT BE GETTING FUEL ALTHOUGH THE NAVIGATION AND GAUGE INDICATED THERE WAS FUEL IN THE TANK. WHEN ADDITIONAL FUEL WAS ADDED THAT VEHICLE STARTED. ALSO CONTACTED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS ON 02/06/12 AND FILED A COMPLAINT PROVIDING THEM WITH DETAILS OF THE SITUATION. PURCHASED A BRAND NEW 2012 NISSAN QUEST JUST WEEKS AGO, CURRENT MILEAGE 320. ENGINE STALLED WITH LITTLE LESS THAN QUARTER TANK OF GAS IN A SLOW TURN. COMPUTER INDICATED THAT THE VAN HAD ENOUGH GAS FOR 30 MILES TRAVEL. LUCKILY THERE WAS NO CARS BEHIND US, SO I WAS ABLE TO APPLY THE BRAKE AND RESTART THE CAR TO THE NEAREST GAS STATION. CONTACTED THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT THE NEXT DAY, THE SERVICE ADVISER ADVISED ME TO MAKE SURE NOT TO LET THE GAS TANK GO DOWN BELOW 1/4 TANK. AFTER READING ALL OTHER COMPLAINTS FROM CURRENT QUEST OWNERS, I WILL BE CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER, INCLUDING THE DEALERSHIP FIRST THING TOMORROW. I AM NOT SURE IF I CAN RETURN THE VEHICLE, EVENTHOUGH IT HAS BEEN LESS THAN 30 DAYS SINCE THE PURCHASE DATE.
MY NEW 2012 NISSAN QUEST WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY WITH THE FRONT SLIGHTLY FACING DOWN LOOKING AT THE ROAD WITH LESS THAN QUARTER TANK OF GAS. THE VAN WOULD START BUT WOULD NOT STAY IDLE AND THE DASH BOARD INDICATED THAT THE VAN HAD ENOUGH GAS TO GO 25 MILES. I HAD TO PUT THE VAN IN NEUTRAL TO ROLL IT DOWN THE STREET (FLAT SURFACE) BEFORE IT CAN BE STARTED AND KEPT ON IDLE. WHEN YOU ROLL THE VAN DOWN IN NEUTRAL WITH THE ENGINE OFF YOU LOOSE YOUR POWER BRAKES, SO I HAD TO MAKE SURE THERE WERE NO CARS COMING FROM EITHER SIDE. I REPORTED THE INCIDENT TO THE NISSAN DEALER, ALSO FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE MANUFACTURER, AND THE DEALER KEPT THE CAR FOR COUPLE OF DAYS BUT COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT NISSAN ENGINEERING TEAM WILL BE CONTACTING ME FOR FURTHER ACTION, AND IN THE MEANTIME I AM SUPPOSED TO KEEP THE GAS TANK FILLED ABOVE THE 1/4 TANK MARK AT ALL TIMES. FOR US (WITH OUR QUEST), IT IS ONLY AN ISSUE WHEN THE GAS TANK IS LOW ON GAS BELOW THE 1/4 TANK MARK AND IT IS PARKED IN AN INCLINE WITH THE FRONT FACING DOWN OR DURING A SHARP VEHICLE TURN WITH THE GAS TANK VERY LOW. HOPEFULLY NISSAN WILL FIND A FIX FOR THIS SOON, BECAUSE I AM CONCERNED FOR THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY. *TR
