The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, she exited the vehicle, walked toward her home, and noticed the vehicle was running. The contact went back to turn the vehicle off, and while reaching into the vehicle and pressing the start-to-stop button, the vehicle reversed, rolled back, and ran her over. The vehicle continued to roll and crashed into a fence. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact sustained injuries, including a fractured rib, a fractured back, and a collapsed lung. Medical attention was provided at the hospital. There was no reported fire or air bag deployment. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to an unknown local dealer, where it was diagnosed that there was a computer glitch. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 14,779.
