AIR BAG FAILURE - THE AIRBAG SENSOR IN THE PASSENGER SEAT FAILED WHICH CAUSED THE ENTIRE AIRBAG SYSTEM TO NOT WORK (AS NOTED BY THE FLASHING AIRBAG LIGHT ON THE DASH AS WELL AS THE SECONDARY AIRBAG LIGHT CONSTANTLY ON NEAR THE GEAR SHIFTER). THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND CONCERN. THIS PARTICULAR YEAR OF THE NISSAN ROGUE WAS NOT PART OF A RECALL (2008 AND 2010 WERE INCLUDED IN A RECALL FOR THE EXACT SAME ISSUE). AS A RESULT, IN ORDER FOR THE AIRBAG SYSTEM TO WORK AND TO REMAIN SAFE IN THE CAR WHEN DRIVING, IT REQUIRES A NEW PASSENGER SEAT CUSHION. THIS REPAIR COSTS GREATER THAN $2000 (PART AND LABOR).
PASSENGER AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT IS ON CONSTANTLY, GAINESVILLE NISSAN (FL) CHARGED OVER $100 TO TELL ME THE SEAT SENSOR IS BAD AND $2,500 TO FIX IT. 2008 AND 2010 ROGUES ARE COVERED BY RECALL, BUT NOT 2009. WILL NEVER BUY NISSAN AGAIN! SAFETY ISSUE, THEY DON'T CARE IF CUSTOMERS DIE.
TAKATA RECALL AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON FOR THE PASSANGER SIDE AND IT WONT TURN OFF. THE DEALERSHIP WANTS TO CHARGE $2000. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL FROM THE LOOKS OF IT MANY OF THESE VEHICLES ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. I FEEL UNSAFE DRIVING MY VEHICLE AT THIS TIME.
RECALL -HARNESS CONNECTOR (TORQUE CONVERTED SOLENOID CIRCUIT INTERMITTENT) PREVIOUS RECALL WASN'T COMPLETED PROPERLY AS I CONTINUE TO EXPERIENCE INTERMITTENT ERRATIC BEHAVIOR OF THE POWER TRAIN AND RELATED CIRCUITRY, TWO WEEKS AFTER THE MANUFACTURER SAID THEY FIXED THE HARNESS CONNECTOR INSPECT AND REPLACE RECALL (ROGUE CONNECT) THAT WAS PLACE ON THE CAR. THE CAR JERKS UNCONTROLLABLY WHEN DRIVING AT HIGH SPEED ON THE HIGHWAY OR HESITATES AT STOP THEN TAKES OFF SUDDENLY AT HIGH SPEED. I LIKE FOR THE MANUFACTURER TO LOOK INTO THIS AND PROPERLY ADDRESS THIS RECALL BY FIXING THIS ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE THEY BUILT WHICH I STILL CURRENT DRIVE. A DIAGNOSTIC SCAN WAS DONE AT AUTOZONE AND I WAS TOLD THE TORQUE CONVERTER SOLENOID CIRCUITS ARE INTERMITTENT AND THAT IT'S DUE TO A DAMAGED TRANSMISSION WIRING HARNESS THAT IS EITHER LOOSE OR OPEN CIRCUIT IN THE SYSTEM AND MAY CAUSE A FIRE.
I HAVE A 2009 NISSAN ROGUE WITH 106742 MILES,I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP FOR TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS.THE DEALER IS TELLING ME THAT THE GUARRANTY COVERS ONLY IF THE TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED,WHEN I READ THE GUARRANTY COVERS REPAIRS,REPLACEMENT AND EVEN TOWING.THEY WANT ME TO PAY FOR THE PARTS IN THE REPAIR OF THE TRANSMISSION.THE VEHICLE IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY.
WHEN STOPPED CAR STARTS A SMELL LIKE GAS
TAKATA RECALL UPON START UP OF THE VEHICLE, THE AIRBAG SENSOR LIGHT IS NOW FLASHING ON THE DRIVERS INSTRUMENT PANEL AND WILL NOT SHUT OFF. DEALER HAS INFORMED ME IT WILL COST APPROXIMATELY $2000.00 FOR THE REPAIR. VEHICLE IS NOW RENDERED UNSAFE WITH DISABLED AIRBAGS.
WHEN I PURCHASE THIS VEHICLE ON MAY 7, 2019 I NOTICED THE RIGHT AIR BAG LIGHTS STAYS ON THE DASH BOARD WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. JUST STARTING THE CAR THE AIR BAG LIGHT COMES UP ON THE DASHBOARD.
PASSENGER AIR BAG WARNING LAMP ON DRIVERS DASH LIT AND IS ON WHILE DRIVING AND WILL COME BACK ON WITH RESTART TOO. CAN NOT CLEAR. HAPPENS WHEN DRIVING AND STOPPED. IT IS NOT CLOCK SPRING TROUBLE IT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM RECALLED ON ALL ROGUES RECEIPT 2009.
THE AIR BAG LIGHT COMES ON . VEHICLE WAS SERVICE AT BALISE NISSAN DEALERSHIP TO TRY TO FIGURE OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS AND SEE IF THEY CAN FIX IT . ALL THEY DID WAS RESET THE LIGHT AND ONCE WE DROVE OFF DEALERSHIP PARKING LOT THE LIGHT CAME BACK ON LIKE 10 MIN AFTER .
MY 2009 NISSAN ROGUE IS PULLING A CODE FOR THE OCCUPANCY-CLASSIFICATION SENSOR FAIL. THIS IS THE SAME FAIL THAT HAS BEEN RECALLED ON SEVERAL NISSAN MODELS. THE FIX, I'M TOLD IS A NEW SEAT. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY EXCESSIVE AND NOT REASONABLE GIVEN THE HISTORY OF NISSAN AND THE OCS SENSOR FAILURES ON THEIR VEHICLES.

REPAIR AND REPLACE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION AND COMPUTER SYSTEM
VEHICLE STATIONARY..STARTED THE VEHICLE AIRBAG LIGHT FLASHING..PASSENGER AIRBAG STATUS LIGHT SHOW OFF EVEN WHEN SOME IS SITTING IN THE SEAT. VEHICLE TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP WHERE TECH REPORT PASSENGER AIRBAG SENOR NOT WORKING...DEALERSHIP REPAIR $3100...
DEFECTIVE DOOR HANDLE/LOCKING ASSEMBLY. BOTH FRONT DOORS HANDLE ASSEMBLY FROZE UP PREVENTING ME FROM OPENING BOTH DOORS. IN THE MEAN TIME MY WIFE HAD CLIMB FROM THE BACK SEAT TO OPEN THEDOOR FROM THE INSIDE. ONE TIME SHE STOPPED AT THE TOP OF THE DRIVEWAY TO GET THE MAIL ON A SNOWY WINDY DAY, SHE PULLED UP NEXT TO THE MAILBOX GOT OUT FOR A SECOND AND THE DOOR BLEW SHUT LOCKING MY 2 YEAR OLD SON, THE KEYS AND HER PHONE IN THE BACK SEAT THANKFULLY NEIGHBOR WAS HOME AND USED A COAT HANGER TO ACTIVATE THE LATCH . THIS COULD HAVE BEEN MUCH WORSE. I CALLED THE LOCAL DEALER SHIP AND PAID 99 BUCKS TO DIAGNOSE AND THEY SAY I NEED TO REPLACE THE LATCHES AND IT WILL COST ABOUT 900 BUCKS !! ONLINE AND ANOTHER MECHANIC HAVE SAID THIS IS A RECALLED ISSUE AND THE LATCHES FREEZE AND THEY WILL REPLACE FREE OF CHARGE AND THERE IS EVEN AND ADDENDUM TO AD ADDITIONAL INSULATION TO LATCHES TO PREVENT FUTURE FREEZE UPS. I AM GOING TO TRY TO CALL ANOTHER DEALERSHIP AND CORPORATE NISAAN IF I HAVE TOO. SOME ONE PLEASE HELP ME WITH INFORMATION ON THIS SAFTEY ISSUE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 NISSAN ROGUE. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE STEERING WHEEL VIOLENTLY VEERED TO THE RIGHT ON ITS OWN WHILE THE WHEELS REMAINED STRAIGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING GEAR SCREW WAS LOOSE AND UNBLE TO BE TIGHTENED. THE MECHANIC INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED PER AN UNKNOWN RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. JOHN AMATO NISSAN (414-905-3064, LOCATED AT 5200 N PORT WASHINGTON RD, GLENDALE, WI 53217) INFORMED THE CONTACT TO CALL THE MNAUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 240,000. *TT CONSUMER HAS ENCLOSED ATTACHMENT A WHICH DESCRIBES THE RECALL THE STEERING BEAR HOUSING COVER SCREW WHICH WAS RECALLED. ALSO INCLUDED IS ATT. B WHICH SHOWS THE LOCK PLATE AND CLAMP THAT WAS USED IN RECALL PRIOR TO MYSELF PURCHASING THE VEHICLE IN 2012. RECALL DID'T MAINTAIN THE STABILITY OF THE STEERING COLUMN. CONSUMER HAS ATTACHED ATTACHMENT C AS THE BILL PAID TO REPAIR FAILED RECALL.*JB
HORN WILL ONLY WORK WHEN THE WHEELS ARE TURNED TO THE RIGHT.
EXACT SAME ISSUE AS FOR NTB08-095 RECALL AFFECTING 2008 NISSAN ROGUE BUT CALLED NISSAN AND THEY DO NOT COVER THIS FOR THE 2009. OCU MALFUNCTION CODE B1018.
MY AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT BLINKING ALL THE TIME, WHEN I TOOK TO THE DEALER THEY ADVICE ME TO REPLACE AIR BAG AND SENSORS IT COST MORE THAN $2000.00. A FUEL GAUGE LIGHT ON DASH BOARD IS DROPPED WHEN IT'S FULL TANK.
CAR DECELERATES ON ITS OWN. WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AND ON SMALL ROADS, THE CAR WILL SLOW AND EVEN WHEN ACCELERATOR IS PUSHED THE RPMS WILL NOT INCREASE OVER 3000 AND THE ENGINE DOES NOT REV AND THE VEHICLE LOSES ACCELERATION. THIS IS A VERY HAZARDOUS SITUATION. THE VEHICLE DOES NOT ACCELERATE IN ORDER TO PULL OVER TO GET OUT OF THE WAY OF TRAFFIC. ALL FLUIDS ARE MAINTAINED. THE VEHICLE IS PROPERLY SERVICED.
PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON AFTER MY 8 YEAR OLD WAS SEATING IN THE FRONT SEAT WHILE CAR WAS PARKED. SCAN CODE B1018 OCCUPANT SENSOR MALFUNCTIONED. CALLED NISSAN WHICH NOTED THAT ITS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE 2008 ROGUE MODELS AND STILL HAS A RECALL CAMPAIGN FOR THAT YEAR BUT MY 2009 MODEL IS NOT INCLUDED. BUT IRONICALLY THE SAME EXACT ISSUE EXIST WITH BOTH MODEL AND FIXING THE ISSUE WILL COST ME $1000. THERE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON THE SAME ISSUE FOR NISSAN ROGUE MODELS 2008 - 2010 BUT NISSAN IS TAKING NO ACTION ESPECIALLY WITH A MAJOR AIRBAG SAFETY ISSUE LIKE SO.
PASSENGER DOOR WILL LOCK BY ITSELF WHEN NO ONE HAS LOCKED IT. ELECTRONIC DOOR LOCKS TAKES TWO OR THREE PRESSES OF THE KEY TO OPEN.
STARTED THE VEHICLE ONE DAY AND THE AIRBAG LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD WAS ON. THE PASSENGER AIRBAG INDICATOR WAS ALSO ON, WHICH INDICATES THAT SAID AIRBAG IS DISABLED BUT THERE WAS NO ONE IN THE SEAT. LOOKING UP THE DASHBOARD'S AIRBAG LIGHT FLASHING SEQUENCE IN THE SERVICE MANUAL (ONE LONG BLINK FOLLOWED BY FIVE QUICK BLINKS), THE PROBLEM STEMS FROM THE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM SENSOR THAT IS EMBEDDED IN THE PASSENGER SEAT BUCKET. RESEARCH SHOWS THAT THIS IS A SAFETY COMPONENT WHICH HAS BEEN IN OTHER SERVICE BULLETINS FOR VARIOUS NISSAN VEHICLES. FOR THE ROGUE, THE RECALL CAMPAIGN BULLETIN NTB-095D COVERS THIS EXACT ISSUE BUT ONLY FOR 2008 UNITS. FORUM POSTS BY OWNERS APPEAR TO INDICATE THAT MANY OTHERS HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE FOR VEHICLES NOT COVERED IN SAID BULLETIN. THE COST TO REPLACE THE SEAT IS AROUND $2,000, SINCE NISSAN CAN NOT REPLACE THE SENSOR ITSELF. THIS IS COST PROHIBITIVE CONSIDERING THAT THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT. IT PRESENTS FAILURE ON THE VEHICLE'S SAFETY SYSTEM, WHICH CONTRARY TO MECHANICAL SYSTEMS IS SUBJECT TO MINIMAL WEAR (IF ANY), SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCING THE VEHICLES USABILITY UNLESS THE OWNER IS WILLING TO TAKE THE UNNECESSARY RISK OF USING IT IN THE MEAN TIME.
DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY THE ENGINE REVED TO HIGH RPMS AND LOST POWER. THERE WERE TWO BABIES IN THE CAR. WE WERE IN THE CARPOOL LANE AND WITH NO POWER WE HAD TO CROSS 3 LANES OF TRAFFIC AND WAIT ON THE SIDE OF THE FREEWAY WITH BABIES FOR TOW TRUCK. WAS TOWED TO A FRIENDS AUTO SHOP WHERE WE WERE TOLD ABOUT NUMEROUS KNOWN ISSUES WITH THE CVT TRANSMISSION.
LOOSES POWER UPON DRIVING NO EXCELLERATION AND IT WONT GO IT'S LIKE THE THROTTLE PETAL ISN'T EVEN THERE WHEN YOU START OUT IT DRIVES GREAT BUT WITHIN 20/30 MILES IT'S LIKE THE CAR TAKES OVER AND IT JUST WON'T GO' WE DO REGULAR SERVICE AND WE HAVE DONE TRANSMISSION SERVICES CVT FLUID AND FILTER THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED NISSAN SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE
LOSS OF POWER AND JUDDERING (SHAKING) OF VEHICLE OCCURRED SEVERAL TIMES WHILE ACCELERATING, DRIVING UP HILLS, DRIVING FOR EXTENDED PERIODS OF TIME (OVER 1 HOUR), OR WHEN THE AIR TEMPERATURE WAS OVER 80 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT, ALL WHILE ACCELERATOR WAS DEPRESSED. WHEN I TRIED TO FLOOR THE ACCELERATOR, THE RPM'S INCREASED BUT THE CVT DID NOT ENGAGE. HAD TO REMOVE FOOT FROM ACCELERATOR THEN REAPPLY, EVENTUALLY AFTER THE CAR SLOWED EVEN FURTHER, THE CVT RE-ENGAGED. WORST ISSUE HAPPENED WHILE ON THE I90 INTERSTATE, ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE AND CAR LOST POWER AND JUDDERED ALMOST CAUSING A COLLISION WITH VEHICLE BEHIND ME. TOOK VEHICLE INTO DEALERSHIP TWICE FOR THIS ISSUE, FIRST TIME THE DEALERSHIP COULD NOT REPLICATE ISSUE. TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK INTO THE DEALERSHIP WITHIN 30 DAYS FROM ORIGINAL ISSUE AND DEALERSHIP CONFIRMED ISSUE AND SAID NEW TRANSMISSION WAS NEEDED. HOWEVER, NOT COVERED UNDER NISSAN EXTENDED WARRANTY BECAUSE THERE WERE NOT HARD FAULT CODES. CALLED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS ON IN JULY 2018 WHO SAID MY VIN IS NOT PART OF ANY UPDATES/RECALLS FOR THIS ISSUE AND WOULD NOT COVER REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF TRANSMISSION.
The passenger side Air Bag indicator has been on since 2019, was not aware I could report it here. I have not taken it to a Dealership because I can't afford to have it fixed. In 2018, I had to replace the CV joint and front rocker arms. A piece was cracked, and when I would turn I would hear a loud POP & TICKING sound from the front passenger side tire area. Again I paid over 1500.00 to have it repaired, I no longer have the photographs or the actual parts.
TAKATA RECALL THE AIR BAG DEVICE SIGNAL KEEP BLINKING THIS "TAKATA AIR BAG IS WHAT"S HAPPENING TO MY CAR AS WELL. THIS IS SAID TO BE VERY DANGEROUS. I NEED TO BE SAFE WHILE DRIVING THIS CAR.
CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE OR RESPOND TO GAS PEDAL ESPECIALLY WHEN DRIVING FOR EXTENDED PERIODS OF TIME OR UPHILL. WHEN THE GAS PEDAL IS DEPRESSED THE VEHICLE WILL JUDDER AND LOOSE SPEED. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP IN 2016 FOR CVT OIL COOLER RECALL AT 93,063 MILES. BROUGHT VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP WITH LOSS OF ACCELERATION AT 119,931; HOWEVER, NO HARD CODES TO DIAGNOSIS ISSUE, SENT ON MY WAY, WITH A DIAGNOSIS OF BAD WHEEL BEARING. RETURNED LESS THAN A MONTH LATER WITH UNRESOLVED ISSUE (LOSS OF ACCELERATION) AT 121,075 MILES. DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSED THAT THE CAR NEEDS A NEW TRANSMISSION AND WILL NOT BE COVERED UNDER THE EXTENDED WARRANTY, 1,075 MILES OVER WARRANTY.
DRIVING UP A HILL ON HIGHWAY ROUTE 80 WEST AT 65 MPH WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN SPEED STARTED TO DECREASE I PRESSED DOWN FULLY ON GAS WITH NO RESPONSE TRANSMISSION LOCKED UP SPEED CONTINUED TO DECLINE TO 55 MPH WITH TRAFFIC FLYING BY ME HONKING HORNS ETC I PUT HAZARDS ON AND CONTINUED TO PRESS GAS WITH NO RESPONSE WAS ABLE TO GET UP HILL AND SPEED AND TRANSMISSION RETURNED TO NORMAL. VERY HAZARDOUS FOR THIS TO OCCUR WITH KIDS IN THE CAR AS WELL.
GOT THE SUV IN MAY 2017 USED AND THIS YEAR 2018 IT DID NOT PASS N.Y. STATE INSPECTION PO448- EVAPORATIVE EMISSION SYTEM VENT CONTRAL CIRCUIT SHORTED #P0455 EVAPORATIVE EMISSION SYSTEM LEAK DETECTED LARGE LEAK. RESULITS - FAIL. NOTE HOW DID THIS PASS LAST YEAR ? IT HAS 59,841 MILEAGE.
WHEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, THE CAR SUDDENLY LOSES ALL ACCELERATION. EVEN WITH THE ACCELERATOR COMPLETELY DEPRESSED, THE CAR JUST STOPS. RPMS WON'T GO ABOVE 2500, AND MY HUSBAND AND I HAVE HAD TO MAKE SEVERAL EMERGENCY STOPS ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY, SOMETIMES IN HEAVY TRAFFIC, AND REQUIRING US TO CUT ACROSS MULTIPLE LANES.
CAN WOULD NOT ACCELERATE ONCE I WAS AT A STOP. WOULD TRY AND GO AND VEHICLE WOULD GO AN ESTIMATED SPEED OF 5MPH THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS WHEN TRYING TO TURN OR PULL INTO AN INTERSECTION. NOT KNOWING IF MY VEHICLE WOULD GO WITHOUT ISSUES OR LOSE POWER AND PULL IN FRONT OF A CAR GOING DANGEROUSLY SLOW. THIS HAS HAPPEN ABOUT 10TIMES AND RANDOM DAYS/TIMES. THIS IS A CONTINUING PROBLEM.
THE VEHICLE WILL SUDDENLY LOSE ACCELERATION FOR NO REASON. I BROUGHT THIS CAR FOR MY GRANDDAUGHTER AND SHE HAS ALMOST GOTTEN HIT A COUPLE OF TIMES BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM. I HAVE READ SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SAME ISSUE. SHE WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AND ALL OF THE SUDDEN THE SPEED DROPPED ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THIRTY THEN TO TWENTY. SHE HAD TO PULLED OVER ONTO SHOULDER AND WAIT ABOUT TEN MINUTES BEFORE SHE COULD PROCEED, IT STILL WOULD NOT GO OVER FORTY EVEN THOUGH SHE HAD THE PEDAL FLOORED. SINCE THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH SO MANY CARS PLEASE MAKE NISSAN FIX IT.
THE AIR BAG INDICATOR LIGHT BLINKS ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND THE PASSENGER AIRBAG INDICATOR LIGHT (NEAR THE GEAR SHIFTER) STAYS ON ALL THE TIME. THE NISSAN CUSTOMER FORUMS INDICATE THIS IS A SIGNIFICANT PROBLEM WITH THE OCS AIRBAG SENSOR LOCATED IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. NISSAN HAS NOT RECALLED THIS VEHICLE TO CORRECT THIS SAFETY ISSUE. NISSAN REFERS OWNERS TO THE LOCAL DEALER'S SERVICE CENTER TO HAVE IT REPLACED AT THE OWNER'S EXPENSE.
VERY LOUD KNOCKING NOISE FROM FRONT END WHEN GOING OVER ANY BUMPS OTHER THAN A SMOOTH ROAD. COMING FROM FRONT PASSENGER SIDE. THE STEERING IS STILL OK. THE ENGINES IS RUNNING FINE. THE NOISE IS METAL ON METAL LIKE SOMEONE HITTING IT WITH A HAMMER. NOISE STARTED ABOUT BEGINNING OF APRIL AND HAS BEEN GETTING LOUDER AND LOUDER. TODAY'S DATE IS APRIL 23. ALMOST LIKE A RUBBER BUSHING FELL OFF AND NOT THE JOINT IS METAL ON METAL.
MY AIRBAG PASSENGER SIDE LIGHT ON THE DASH AND ON THE RIGHT HAND SIDE OF THE VEHICLE CAME ON AT 100,000. THIS MADE ME RESEARCH RECALLS. I CAN NOT BELIEVE ALL THE RECALLS FOR THIS PROBLEM EXCEPT FOR 2009. EVEN THOUGH THE CAR WAS BUILT IN 2008. I GUESS WE ARE GOING TO WAIT UNTIL PEOPLE DIE UNTIL THIS WILL BE DONE. WE ARE TO PAY FOR IT WHEN THIS WAS A KNOWN PROBLEM. I REALLY LIKE MY NISSAN BUT I CAN NOT PUT MY FAMILY AT RISK OF BEING HURT OR EVEN KILLED. I WILL NOT REPURCHASE A NISSAN AGAIN. I GUESS IT IS CHEAPER TO NOT FIX IT THAN TO PAY OUT SETTLEMENTS. THE VEHICLE WAS NEVER IN AN ACCIDENT. OR HIT A BIG BUMP.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 NISSAN ROGUE. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE VEHICLE DID NOT RESPOND WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE HOME. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC IN MAY OF 2017. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND SUGGESTED TAKING THE VEHICLE TO ONE OF THEIR FACILITIES FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 159,000.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO THE LOCAL DEALER. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 93,000.
TAKATA RECALL. AIR BAG LIGHT STAYS ON ALL THE TIME. BROUGHT TO DEALER. CHARGED ME $160 TO TELL ME OF A SENSOR PAD MALFUNCTION AND ENTIRE PASSENGER SEAT WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO FAILURE OF SRS SYSTEM THAT WOULD COST APPROX 1,900. I UNDERSTAND 2008 AND 2010 MODELS WERE RECALLED FOR THIS PROBLEM BUT NOT 2009. WHY NOT??
INTERMITTENT ACCELERATION & DECELERATION WHILE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION, PUTTING IN DRIVE OR REVERSE HAS EXTREME LOSS OF ACCELERATION WITH ENGINE RPM GOING WELL ABOVE THE NEEDED RPM (3000-4000) TO MOVE THE VEHICLE FORWARD.
I PURCHASED VEHICLE NEW FROM DEALER. AT APPROX 83,000 MILES I BEGAN TO EXPERIENCE ACCELERATION PROBLEMS. I WAS NOT ABLE TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP W/ PEDAL FULLY DEPRESSED. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AS I WAS ALMOST IN A CAR ACCIDENT BECAUSE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE. TOOK IT TO DEALER AND I WAS INFORMED THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE TRANSMISSION. DEALER REPLACED TRANSMISSION. NOW AT 115,000 MILES I EXPERIENCED THE SAME TYPE OF PROBLEM, EXCEPT NOW THE CAR SHAKES WHEN I TRY TO ACCELERATE. I AM UNABLE TO REVERSE OR ACCELERATE. I CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE WARRANTY ON THE TRANSMISSION EXPIRES AT 90,000 EVEN THOUGH IT WAS A REPLACEMENT TRANSMISSION. NISSAN NEEDS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AND FIX THIS!!
CVT LOST POWER ON HIGHWAY WITHOUT NOTICE AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE
ISSUE WHEN DRIVING AT FIRST FOR LONG PERIODS. THE CAR WILL START TO SLOW DOWN. CAN'T OR WON'T ACCELERATE. I CALL ABOUT THIS ISSUE 2 YEARS AGO AND I WAS DISMISSED. BUT I SEE THERE'S A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT IN OTHER STATES, DESCRIBING THE SAME ISSUE WITH DIFFERENT NISSAN MODELS. THE CVT... I WOULD THINK IF THERES AN ISSUE NISSAN, BEING AS BIG AS THEY ARE WOULD ADDRESS IT. BUT IT LOOKS LIKE ALL YOU COMPANIES LIKE TO TO IS SHOVE US UNDER THE RUG . 'TAKATA RECALL". I GOT INTO MAY 2009 NISSAN ROGUE WHEN ALL SUDDEN MY AIRBAG LIGHT INDICATED AIRBAG HAD BEEN INFLATED. LIGHT INDICATOR SHOWS STEERING WHEEL INFLATED. I CALLED NISSAN 1-800 WAS TOLD TO CALL LOCAL DEALER WHO SOLD ME CAR. CALLED WORLD CAR NISSAN AND PERSON WAS VERY RUDE WHEN ASKED IF IT WAS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE OR IF THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE AIRBAG. I'M VERY CONCERNED IT MAY INFLATE WITHOUT NOTICE OR MAY NOT WORK IF NEEDED. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A PROBLEM AS I READ THE 2008 AIRBAGS WERE RECALLED FOR SAME ISSUE.
FUEL GAUGE READING IS ERRATIC AND UNRELIABLE WHEN DRIVING AT STEADY SPEED. IT JUMPS ERRATICALLY BY AS MUCH AS HALF A TANKFUL, BACK AND FORTH.
WHEN THE CAR IS IN MOTION DRIVING FOR A PERIOD OF 30 MINUTES OR LONGER OR GOING UP A HILL THE ACCELERATION STOPS AND THE CAR WILL SLOW DOWN NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU PRESS ON THE GAS PAEDAL. I HAVE NOT EXPERIENCED IT HEATING UP ACCORDING TO THE TEMPETURE BUT THE CAR DOES SMELL LIKE BURNT. I HAVE TO TURN OFF THE CAR AND LET IT COOL TO DRIVE AGAIN, BUT THE ISSUE WILL CONTINUE IF I DRIVE MORE THAN 30 MINUTES OR UP A HILL.
GOING DOWN THE INTERSTATE GOING 65 MPH AND WE LOST ALL POWER COULDNT GO OVER 30 MPHWE HAD TO PULL OVER AND WAIT THEN WE FINALLY GOT MOVING AGAIN THE POWER LOSS KEPT HAPPENING NOW MY SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT IS ON AND THEY 1100 TO FIX THE PROBLEM NISSAN KNOWS ABOUT THE PROBLEM BUT WON'T RECALL IT
