" TAKATA RECALL"-MY PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT WENT ON AND THEN THE AIRBAG LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD. I WENT TO THE DEALER AND THEY CHARGED ME TO TELL ME I HAVE DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS. I WAS TOLD THEY ARE NOT UNDER ANY WARRANTY OR RECALL. I JUTS BOUGHT THE CAR USED FROM NISSAN IN FEB 2015. THEY ARE SAYING I HAVE TO START WITH REPLACING MY PASSENGER SEAT AND THAT WILL BE$1,900 AND THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THAT THE REPAIR WILL STOP THERE. I WAS TOLD THAT NONE OF THE AIRBAGS WILL FUNCTION UNTIL THIS IS REPAIRED.
CVT CONTINUES TO FAIL. IT WAS REPLACED AT 73K MILES AFTER FAILING; IT NOW IS GOING INTO FAIL SAFE MODE DUE TO OVERHEATING ISSUES. THIS SEEMS TO BE VERY COMMON ROGUE PROBLEM. I WAS TOLD THAT THE 100K WARRANTY WOULD BE FOR THE REPLACEMENT CVT BUT AM NOW BEING TOLD BY DEALER THAT REPAIRS WERE 12K OR 12 MONTHS. CVT IS SHOWING SIGNS OF POOR SHIFTING AND POWER LOSS ON HILLS. FREQUENTLY WON'T START MOVING FOR FEW SECONDS AT TRAFFIC LIGHT. PLEASE HELP WITH RESOLVING THE PROBLEM WITH ALL OF US ROGUE CUSTOMERS/OWNERS. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING NOW FOR MONTHS AND I AM WORRIED FOR MY FAMILIES SAFETY. THANKS
THE SUPPLEMENTAL AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT HAS BEEN FLASHING FOR OVER FOUR YEARS AND YOU WOULD THINK THAT THERE WOULD BE A RECALL FOR THIS SINCE IT JUST CAME ON BY ITSELF WITHOUT WARNING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 NISSAN ROGUE. THE CONTACT PERFORMED REGULAR MAINTENANCE ON THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THAT THE FRONT DRIVE SIDE AXLE LEAKED GREASE AND THE CB BOOT WAS CRACKED ON BOTH SIDES. IN ADDITION, THE INNER BALL JOINT HAD PREMATURE WEAR AND THE TRANSMISSION OPERATED IN HIGH GEAR WHEN DRIVING. THE WHEELS WERE DIFFICULT TO TURN AS WELL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE AXLE WAS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTUER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 76,200.
FAULTY OCUPPANT SEAT SENSOR IN THE PASSENGER FRONT SEAT. THE AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY IN A COLLISION.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 NISSAN ROGUE. APPROXIMATELY TEN MINUTES AFTER THE CONTACT'S DAUGHTER CAME BACK WITH THE VEHICLE, THE ALARM SOUNDED AND THE VEHICLE BURST INTO FLAMES. THERE WAS NO WARNING INDICATOR. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE AND FILED A REPORT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE, BUT DID NOT RETURN THE CONTACT'S PHONE CALL. TWO MONTHS AFTER THE FIRE, THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V032000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 139,000.
PASSENGER AIR BAG SENSOR HAS FAILED. AIR BAG LIGHT BLINKS. SENSOR IS IN SEAT. CVT TRANSMISSIONS FAIL WITHOUT WARNING. RESEARCH INDICATES THIS OCCURS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND CAUSES A HAZARD IN TRAVELED LANES.
REAR BUMPER CAME UNATTACHED ON I-24, 70MPH ZONE, ON RIGHT SIDE. NISSAN AND AUTO DEALER REFUSED TO REPAIR OR INVESTIGATE DUE TO EXPIRED WARRANTY. OWNED THE VEHICLE FOR ONE YEAR. NO ACCIDENTS (NONE REPORTED ON CAR FAX) BOTH ARE STATING I AM AT FAULT FOR BUMPER COMING APART. I DID NOT HIT ANYTHING NOR HAS ANYONE HIT ME. ## VIN PASSED ## NISSAN ROGUE SL ##
THE DOOR HANDLE ON THE DRIVER SIDE FROZE AND WON'T OPEN THIS IS A SAFETY RECALL BUT IS ONLY COVERED ONCE AND IS A RECURRING PROBLEM FOR THE 2009 CARS . DRIVER SIDE DOOR WON'T OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE ONLY THE INSIDE ONCE IT FREEZES IT REQUIRES LABOR HOURS TO TEAR APART THE DOOR TO FIX IT.
BOTH FRONT DOORS WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE AFTER BEING EXPOSED TO FREEZING TEMPERATURES IN OUR DRIVEWAY OVERNIGHT. DESPITE HAVING ONLY 44,000 MILES ON THE ODOMETER WE WERE TOLD BY A NISSAN REP THAT THEY WOULD NOT REPAIR THE CAR. IF WE WANT THE CAR FIXED WE WERE TOLD BY THE NISSAN DEALER THE COST WOULD BE ABOUT $700. BECAUSE THE DOORS WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD IN THE EVENT WE WERE INCAPACITATED INSIDE THE CAR,OR A CHILD WERE TO GET STUCK INSIDE THE VEHICLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 NISSAN ROGUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG LIGHT FLASHED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING NORMALLY AND COULD NOT BE REPAIRED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO ANOTHER DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT A DIAGNOSTIC TEST WAS NEEDED. NO REPAIRS WERE MADE TO THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 77,400.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE UP HILLS OR DURING HOT DAYS, THE VEHICLE WILL SUDDENLY IGNORE THE GAS PEDAL AND SLOW DOWN. THIS BECOMES TREACHEROUS ON LONG DRIVES THAT INVOLVE GOING OVER HILLS OR MOUNTAINS AS THEY CAR WILL SLOW TO UNDER 40MPH AND WILL NOT RESPOND TO THE GAS PEDAL. AFTER BRINGING MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY STATED THERE IS AN ECM RECALL. THEY CHANGED OUT THE PART, BUT THE ISSUE WHEN DRIVING STILL OCCURRED. NISSAN IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM (SEE NTB14-002), HOWEVER THE ISSUE IS NOT CONSIDERED A RECALL AND IS LABELED AS A CUSTOMER EXPENSE FOR THOSE OUTSIDE THE 60,000 MILE WARRANTY AND OPTIONAL UPGRADE. THIS IS A SERIOUS FLAW FOR ANY ROGUE OWNERS, AND IS A SAFETY RISK WHILE DRIVING. NISSAN SHOULD REPLACE THE FLAWED COOLING SYSTEMS AT THEIR EXPENSE, ESPECIALLY SINCE THE DEFECT WAS NOT DETECTED UNTIL 11/25/2015.
DURING ICE AND SNOWY CONDITIONS THE OUTSIDE DOOR HANDLE MECHANISM FAILS NOT ALLOWING YOU TO OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE. IT HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES ON THE DRIVERS DOOR AND ONCE ON THE PASSENGER DOOR. TO FIX THE PROBLEM YOU HAVE TO TAKE APART THE DOOR AND RE HOOK UP A CABLE. THERE SEEMS TO BE A VIN NUMBER RECALL FOR THIS BUT IT DOESN'T INCLUDE MY ROGUE. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER TO HAVE IT FIXED AND THEY WANTED TO CHARGE 600 DOLLARS FOR THEIR FLAWED MECHANISM ON 1 SIDE!!! MAJOR PAIN TO HAVE TO OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE OR REACH OVER THE SEAT TO OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE INSIDE. SEEMS TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE THAT NISSAN SHOULD FIX WHEN THEY KNOW IT IS AN ISSUE WITH OTHER NISSAN VEHICLES. NOT HAPPY WITH NISSAN OR THEIR SERVICE. THE LAST TIME IT OCCURRED WAS 12/18/2015. BUT IT HAS HAPPENED THE LAST 3 WINTERS AND I FIXED IT .
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 NISSAN ROGUE. WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED, THERE WAS A STRONG VIBRATION. THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WAS NOTIFIED, BUT COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER HAD A SERVICE CAMPAIGN, BUT THE CONTACT WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE STATUTE HAD EXPIRED DUE TO THE MILEAGE ON THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDED NO REPAIR SOLUTION OTHER THAN STATING TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 NISSAN ROGUE. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE OCCUPANT RESTRAINT SENSOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
AFTER REMOVING A BRIEFCASE FROM THE PASSENGER FRONT SEAT, THE AIRBAG LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD STAYS ON (FLASHES). IT NEVER GOES OFF WHEN THE CAR IS STATIONARY OR IN MOTION.
OUTSIDE LATCHES FAILED SIMULTANEOUSLY CAR WAS PARKED WINTER DAY 25 DEGREES F (CAR WAS STORED OUTSIDE ALL EVENING AND DRIVEN). PASSENGER COULD NOT GET OUT. I GOT OUT AND WENT TO UNLOCK DOOR AND NO LUCK, TRIED KEY AND NO LUCK. WENT TO DRIVERS SIDE DOOR AND COULD NOT GET IN. HAD TO ENTER THE VEHICLE FROM THE REAR DOORS. VEHICLE HAD HISTORY OF THIS BEING REPLACED, BUT AS A SECOND USED CAR OWNER WAS NOT TOLD OF PROBLEM AND NISSAN SAYS BECAUSE I WAS NOT CONSIDERED A LOYAL CUSTOMER AND THAT THE DOORS WERE NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY.
THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG INDICATOR KEEPS ON AND THE AIRBAG LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD IS FLASHING. WE STARTED NOTICING THE ISSUE IN YEAR 2015 AND THIS HAS NEVER BEEN FIXED. WE HOPED NISSAN CAN FIX THE SAME ISSUE AS THEY RECALLED 2008 NISSAN ROGUE (08-095D).
VEHICLE LOSES POWER WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS.VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION CAUSING VEHICLES TO SWERVE AROUND US, AND NEARLY CAUSING A COLLISION.
DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT FAILURE.. WHILE DRIVING THE SEAT BELT UNLATCHES OR TRYING TO LATCH WILL TAKE SEVERAL PUSHES TO HAVE THE LATCH ENGAGE. PURCHASED CAR USED FROM A DEALERSHIP WAS NOT TOLD OF THIS ISSUE. NISSAN DID REPLACE THE SEAT BELT BUT, CARS SHOULD BE COMPLETELY SAFE PRIOR TO RESELLING THESE CARS ON ANY MARKET.
THE PASSENGER AIR BAG SENSOR LIGHT IS FLASHING. THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP DETERMINED THAT THE AIRBAG SENSOR IS NOT WORKING AND WOULD REQUIRE A NEW SENSOR WHICH COST $2500 TO REPLACE. I WAS TOLD THAT IN THE CASE OF AN ACCIDENT THE AIRBAG MAY OR MAY NOT DEPLOY.
THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG LIGHT WILL NOT TURN OFF WHEN A PASSENGER IS IN THE SEAT. THE DASH BOARD AIR BAG INDICATOR ALSO STAYS ON.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER DRIVING FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME WHICH EXCEEDED ONE HOUR, THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL AS THE SERVICE ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING UPHILL, THE VEHICLE WOULD DECELERATE INDEPENDENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 92,000.
MY CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AFTER DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY (75 MPH) FOR MORE THAN 2 HOURS NO MATTER HOW HARD I STEPPED ON THE GAS. IT ONLY HAPPENED WHEN DRIVING AFTER 2 HOURS ON THE HIGHWAY AND DID NOT HAVE AN ISSUE AGAIN SINCE I USUALLY DO NOT TAKE LONG TRIPS. THIS HAPPENED TWICE FOR MY ROAD TRIP TO AND FROM HOUSTON AND DALLAS. A FEW MONTHS LATER, THE CAR JERKS WHEN COMING TO A STOP AND ACCELERATING FROM A STOP. THIS WAS ON REGULAR ROADS ABOUT 40 MPH. NOTICED MANY COMPLAINTS ONLINE WITH THE SAME ISSUE AND WAS TOLD IT'S DUE TO THE TRANSMISSION. I BELIEVE THAT THIS SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED AS IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND UNFAIR FOR CAR OWNERS TO PAY FOR REPAIR SINCE MANY 2008 & 2009 ROGUE OWNERS REPORTED THE SAME ISSUE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TIRES MAY BE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE TIRES WERE ROTATED, BUT THE RUMBLING NOISE WAS STILL PRESENT. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR A SECOND OPINION WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED BY THE TECHNICIAN THAT THE TIRES WERE NOT THE ISSUE; HOWEVER, THE MOTOR WAS MOVING WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS ON. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE AXLE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE DEALER NEVER PERFORMED THE REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 NISSAN ROGUE. AFTER STOPPING AT A STOP SIGN, WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. WHILE THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY JERKED FORWARD. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE INTAKE VALVE HOSE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE AIR FILTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 92,000.
WHEN I WAS TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY FOR OVER AN HOUR GOING 80 MPH, THE VECHICLE QUICKLY DECCELERATED AND WHEN I STEPPED ON THE PEDAL FOR GAS ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR IT DID NOT ACCELERATE. IT WAS VERY SCARY SINCE THERE WERE ARE TRAVELING BEHIND ME AND I WAS AFRAID THEY WOULD CRASH INTO ME. THIS HAS HAPPENED EVERY TIME I TAKE MY VEHICLE ON THE HIGHWAY TRAVELING FOR OVER AN HOUR FOR THE PAST YEAR. I AM TERRIFIED I AM GOING TO CAUSE A CRASH WHILE TRAVELING WITH MY CHILD, THIS IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY HAZARD.
I RECENTLEY TOOK MY CAR INTO THE SHOP BECUASE MY SUNROOF WAS OFF ALIGNED BUT THE GUY PRESSED SOME BUTTON TO TRY AND RESET IT HIMSELF INSTEAD OF SENDING IT INTO THE SHOP TO HAVE IT INSPECTED THE RIGHT WAY. SO I NEEDED TO TRAVEL OUT OF TOWN FOR AN FAMILY EMERGENCY AND WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY MY SUNROOF EXPLODED WHILE RIDING ON THE HIGHWAY. I FEEL LIKE IF HE WOULD HAVE WENT ABOUT IT THE RIGHT WAY WHEN I BROUGHT IT IN ALL OF THIS WOULD OF HAVE BEEN AVOIDED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 NISSAN ROUGE. AFTER DRIVING CONSISTENTLY OVER 100 MILES AND AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE. AFTER RESTARTING THE VEHICLE, IT WOULD RESUME NORMAL OPERATION FOR APPROXIMATELY ONE HOUR AND THEN FAIL AGAIN. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY USING SPEED CONTROL AT 70 MPH MY CAR SUDDENLY KICKED OUT OF SPEED CONTROL AND DECELERATED 20 MPH. MY CAR THEN REFUSED TO ACCELERATE OVER 60 MPH. THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE WAS ABOVE 90 DEGREES AND I HAD BEEN DRIVING FOR 5 AND A HALF HOURS WITH 2 BRIEF STOPS. NO LIGHTS CAME ON, AND THE CAR DID NOT INDICATE IT WAS OVERHEATING. I BROUGHT THE CAR TO MY NORMAL REPAIR PERSON AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT IT WAS MY TRANSMISSION. I BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP BECAUSE IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. THEY HAD A SERVICE BULLETIN THAT MATCHED MY EXACT ISSUE AND COMPLAINT. HOWEVER, THEY COULD NOT REPRODUCE THE ISSUE SO I WAS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR A NEW TRANSMISSION. THEY TOLD ME IT WAS THE TEMPERATURE OF THE FLUID IN MY TRANSMISSION AND A NEW TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT SOLVE THAT PROBLEM. THEY FLUSHED MY TRANSMISSION AND CHECKED MY FLUID LEVELS. THEY SUGGESTED IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN I PURCHASE A PART THAT IS ADDED TO THE TRANSMISSION TO COOL DOWN THE TRANSMISSION FLUID AT MY OWN EXPENSE. THEY ALSO STATED THAT MANY OTHER ROGUES DRIVERS HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE AND SUGGESTED I CONTACT NISSAN.
IN JUNE OF THIS YEAR MY FAMILY AND I WAS ON OUR WAY TO MYRTLE BEACH FOR A FAMILY VACATION IN MY 2009 NISSAN ROUGE . WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY MY CAR STARTED MAKING A LOUD WHINNY NOISE AND THEN COMPLETELY LOST POWER. WITH THE GAS PEDDLE TO THE FLOOR IT WOULD ONLY GO 40MPH. WE PULLED OVER AND IT WOULD NOT GO AT ALL. IT WAS LIKE IT WAS STUCK IN NEUTRAL. WE SAT FOR A WHILE AND IT DROVE LIKE NOTHING WAS WRONG. WE DECIDED NOT TO TAKE IT ON VACATION BUT LEAVE IT TO HAVE SOMEONE LOOK AT IT. THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG. IT HASHAPPEND ON TWO MORE SEPARATE OCCASIONS NOW BOTH TIMES ON THE HIGHWAY AFTER DRIVING FOR ABOUT 45MINS. I MADE APPOINTMENT AND SENT IT TO A CERTIFIED NISSAN DEALERSHIP TO BE LOOKED AT. THEY ARE UNABLE TO HELP BECAUSE THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. ALTHOUGH I WAS TOLD BY THEM THAT THEY HAVE SEE IT MANY TIMES BEFORE AND WHAT IS HAPPENING IS THE TRANSMISSION IS GETTING HOT THE FLUID IS BUBBLING AND SENDING SIGNALS TO THE VEHICLE TO SHUT DOWN.NISSIAN WILL NOT AUTHORIZE THE DEALERSHIP TO BE ABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO DUPLICATE. MY AIR BAG LIGHT CONTINUES TO BLINK INDICATING SOMETHING WRONG WITH MY PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG. I WAS TOLD THAT DUE TO THIS PROBLEM, THE PASSENGER SEAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. AN EXPENSIVE REPAIR. RECALL REFERENCE #NTB08-095C SPECIFICALLY ADDRESSES THIS PROBLEM. HOWEVER, MY VEHICLE WAS IS INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. I FEEL THAT MY NISSAN ROGUE 2009 ( PRODUCED IN JAN 2009) AND THE AIR BAG MANUFACTURED BY TAKATA, SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL AND REPAIRED. THIS IS A PROBLEM, WITH NUMEROUS PEOPLE ALSO POSTING ABOUT IT. THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER.
WHILE DRIVING A HIGHWAY ON 65 MPH SUDDEN LOSS OF ACCELERATION OCCURS. PRESSING THE ACCELERATION PEDAL DOES NOT MAKE ANY EFFECT ON A CAR SPEED. RPM FALLS TO 1-2K AND DID NOT GOES UP. WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER AND STOP. AFTER 15 MINUTES WITH THE ENGINE TURNED OFF, PROBLEM DISAPPEARS. THIS HAPPENED FOR THE THIRD TIME, AS A PREVIOUSLY,IT OCCURS AFTER A LONG DRIVE (MORE THAN 3 HOURS) OR ON A HIGH SPEED (MORE THAN 75 MPH). IT IS A SAFETY CONCERN WHEN A CAR DECELERATED FROM 65 TO 30 MPH ON A HIGHWAY.
TRANSMISSION FROZE, NO FORWARD GEAR, NO REVERSE GEAR. LUCKILY IT HAPPENED WHEN PULLING INTO THE COALFIELD REST STOP NORTHBOUND ON I-55. AS I SLOWED TO PULL OFF ON THE EXIT RAMP, THE ROGUE JERKED TWICE AND CAME TO SUDDEN STOP. WITH THE TRANSMISSION LOCKING UP IT MAY HAVE CAUSED A SERIOUS ACCIDENT IF I WERE TO BE ON THE INTERSTATE (I-55 NORTHBOUND) AT APPROXIMATELY 6:30PM ON MAY 14, 2015. TRAFFIC AT THE TIME WAS AVERAGE BUT STEADY IN FLOW.
I HAVE HAD MY CAR FOR FOUR YEARS NOW, AND EARLY THIS LAST YEAR, MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, HAD IT CHECKED OUT, AND THEY STATED I HAD A LEAK NEAR MY GAS CAP, SO THEY ADVISED ME TO PURCHASE A NEW GAS CAP, BECAUSE THE SUCTION WAS GO ON THE OLD ONE, I DID THAT, AND THE NEXT DAY, I THOUGH CAME BACK ON, I WENT BACK TO THEM, AND THEY STATED THAT THE WAY THAT THE LEAK IS, OVERTIME I GOT GAS, I WOULD NEED TO PUSH IN THE CAP AND THAT SHOULD SEAL IT. NEEDLESS TO SAY THAT DIDN'T WORK, IT BEEN MONTHS LATER AND I HAVE HAD FOUR DIFFERENT PARTS RELATED ON THE VEHICLE THAT DID NOT NEED REPLACING AND MY LIGHT IS STILL ON! THEY CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT IS CAUSE IT TO COME ON. THE OTHER ISSUE IS THAT MY CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE UP HILLS, I HAVE TO HAVE THE RPM'S ON 4 OR 5 JUST TO GET THE CAR UP THE HILL, AND THEN GOING DOWN THE HILL, I CAR SOUND LIKE SOMETHING IS WRONG. I WAS TOLD NOTHING IS WRONG WITH IT, BUT I KNOW THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG, IT SHOULD NOT SOUND LIKE THAT. THE NEXT ISSUE THAT I A HAVING IS THAT MY AC COMPRESSOR IS SHOT. I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET IT REPLACED ALL SUMMER NOW, AND FOR SOME REASON, MY CAR WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY OF THE NEW ONES, I HAVE HAD ABOUT THREE NEW ONES, I HAVE NO CLUE WHAT TO DO NEXT. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FROM A REPUTABLE USED CAR DEALER USED. THE VEHICLE SEEMED OK VERY NICE INTERIOR EXTERIOR APPEARANCE. ON THE TEST DRIVE THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO SECOND OR THIRD , THE DEALER AGREED TO PAY FOR A TRANSMISSION FLUSH. THE NEXT DAY WHEN I GOT I N THE CAR TO DRIVE TO THE NISSAN DEALER TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION SERVICE DONE, I NOTICED THE VEHICLE BEING ERRATIC, IT FELT LIKE A TIRE OUT OF ROUND OR A SUSPENSION ISSUE. WHEN I GOT TO THE DEALER I NOTICED THE BRAND NEW TIRES THE DEALER HAD INSTALLED WERE WORN ON THE OUTSIDE. SO I HAD THEM CHECK IT OUT , THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF ALIGNMENT. THEN I NOTICED THE OIL THAT HAD BEEN PUT IN THE VEHICLE WAS WRONG 10W20 INSTEAD OF 10W30. WHILE AT THE NISSAN DEALER THEY PERFORMED THE RECALL ON THE HARNESS IN THE DOOR. THEY ALSO NOTICED THE TIRES LOW AND PERFORMED AND ALIGNMENT. AFTER THE TRANSMISSION FLUSH AND FILL, THEY ALSO DID THE ECM UPDATES. I NOTICED THE VEHICLE WAS STILL DOING THE SAME THING IT WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO 2ND SOMETIMES OR THIRD. THE NEXT DAY. THE TPMS LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. NISSAN NEEDS TO BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THE LACK OF QUALITY AND REPAIR THESE MAJOR PROBLEMS THAT HAVE BEEN REPORTED BY NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS. I AM STUCK WITH A LEMON OF A CAR, BECAUSE MY FINANCE COMPANY WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO BUY WHAT I WANTED, I HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS VEHICLE FOR 6 YEARS, AND I AM AFRAID I GOT STUCK.
