TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 NISSAN ROGUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKES DURING SNOWY WEATHER CONDITIONS, THE BRAKES WOULD NOT ENGAGE SPORADICALLY. THE FAILURE WOULD ONLY OCCUR DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED BUT WOULD NOT PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 9,900 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 10387.
IGNITION SWITCH DOES NOT ACTIVATE STARTER
I PURCHASED A 2009 NISSAN ROGUE. APPROXIMATELY 3 WEEKS AGO (1/7/10) THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR HANDLE BROKE. I WAS UNABLE TO ENTER MY VEHICLE THROUGH THE DRIVERS SIDE. THE DOOR OPENS FROM THE INSIDE, BUT I CAN'T OPEN THE VEHICLE FROM THE OUTSIDE. I WENT TO KINGSTON NISSAN, IN KINGSTON, NY 12401 AND ADVISED THEM OF THE PROBLEM. A MECHANIC LOOKED AT MY VEHICLE AND ADVISED ME THAT A NEW HANDLE WAS NEEDED. I THOUGHT THIS TYPE OF PART COULD BE EASILY FIXED, BUT I WAS WRONG. AS OF TODAY, (1/28/10) MY VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN FIXED. KINGSTON NISSAN SERVICE DEPARTMENT ADVISED ME THAT THEY CAN NOT FIND A REPLACEMENT PART AND THAT THE PART(S) ARE COMING FROM JAPAN AND WOULD ARRIVE UNTIL FEBRUARY 7TH, 2010. I MUST WAIT OVER A MONTH TO GET MY VEHICLE FIXED. IN THE MEANTIME, THE ONLY WAY TO ACCESS MY VEHICLE IS BY USING THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR AND CLIMB OVER THE SEATS. IF I WERE PHYSICALLY UNABLE TO CLIMB OVER THE SEATS, I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO OPERATE MY VEHICLE. FORTUNATELY, I AM ABLE, BUT IF A PERSON WAS NOT, THEY WOULD EITHER HAVE TO RENT A VEHICLE OR USE SOME OTHER MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION. I FIND THIS PROBLEM INEXCUSABLE. A SIMPLE DOOR HANDLE PART MUST BE SENT FROM JAPAN TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. PLEASE ASSIST ME IN FINDING A BETTER SOLUTION. ALSO, I HAVE RECENTLY RECEIVED SEVERAL RECALLS ON MY VEHICLE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 NISSAN ROGUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE LOW PRESSURE SENSOR WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER REPLACED THE TIRE NUT AND ONE OF THE TIRE PRESSURE SENSORS BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PERFORMED REPAIRS UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 09V393000 (TIRES:PRESSURE MONITORING AND REGULATING SYSTEMS), BUT DENIED ANY ASSISTANCE WHEN THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED A SECOND TIME AT THE CONTACT'S EXPENSE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 18,920 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE! - OVER THE PAST FEW YEARS, I FILED A COMPLAINT TO THE NHTSA AND MADE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS TO THE DEALER SERVICE CENTER ABOUT THIS ONGOING PROBLEM WITH THE CVT. I COMMUTE EVERYDAY ON THE NJ TURNPIKE. I HAVE TO MAKE STOPS 'TO LET THE ENGINE/CVT COOL OFF' BOTH GOING AND COMING HOME FROM WORK BECAUSE THE CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE. I BARELY GET OVER TO THE SHOULDER IN HIGH SPEED TRAFFIC. SOMETIMES IF THERE ISN'T AN IMMEDIATE SHOULDER, I HAVE TO GO AT A SPEED OF 5-10 MPH IN HIGH SPEED TURNPIKE TRAFFIC OF 60-80 MPH TO FINALLY GET TO A SHOULDER. I ALREADY REPLACED ONE CVT IN THIS CAR. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE 2009 WHEN I PURCHASED THIS CAR. NOW I SEE IN 2014 NISSAN CAME UP WITH A 'FIX' TO REPLACE/INSTALL A COOLER KIT AND A TRANS OIL COOLER. THE TWO KITS COST ABOUT $860 WITHOUT INSTALLATION. WHY IS THIS COST PASSED ON TO US THE CONSUMERS? THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH THE NISSAN CVT DESIGN. NISSAN SHOULD MAKE GOOD ON THEIR PROMISE TO THE CUSTOMER AND RECALL THE VEHICLES WITH THIS CVT ISSUE TO REPLACE/INSTALL THE NEEDED PARTS WITHOUT MAKING US PAY FOR THEIR DEFECTIVE VEHICLE DESIGN. OH AND I I SAID EARLIER, I HAVE BEEN COMPLAINING TO THE DEALER SERVICE CENTER FOR YEARS INCLUDING 2014 AND NONE OF THE SERVICE TECHS EVER MENTIONED THE COOLER KIT FIXES TO ME. THEIR RESPONSE WAS THAT THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM I WAS HAVING WITH THE CAR. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER NISSAN AND I TELL EVERYONE I KNOW ABOUT THESE CVT ISSUES. THERE ARE AT LEAST 100+ COMPLAINTS ON THIS SITE ABOUT THE CVT. WHAT WILL IT TAKE TO GET A RECALL? WHY DO THE CONSUMERS HAVE TO PAY FOR NISSAN'S FAULTY CVT DESIGN?

WHENEVER THE CONTACT SITS IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT WHILE SITTING ON A 2 INCH THICK CUSHION THE AIRBAG SENSOR WILL DEACTIVATE SHUTTING POWER OFF IN THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. HOWEVER, WHEN THE CONTACT SITS IN THE SEAT WITHOUT THE CUSHION THE AIRBAG SENSOR WORKS CORRECTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE SENSOR WAS WORKING PROPERLY. THE CONTACT HAS NOTICED THE FAILURE SINCE THE DAY THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED. TL *THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 NISSAN ROUGE. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH THE AIR BAG LIGHT WOULD INTERMITTENTLY APPEAR ON THE DASHBOARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE SERVICED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 7,200.
THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG LIGHT WOULD OCCASIONALLY COMES OFF INDICATING DEACTIVATION WHILE THE SEAT IS OCCUPIED AND WHILE DRIVING OR STOPPING. PASSENGERS (ME OR MY WIFE USUALLY) ARE ABOUT 119 POUNDS AND USUALLY SET IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SEAT. THE DEACTIVATION LIGHT WOULD SOMETIMES STAY ON THEN OFF WHILE DRIVING OR UNTIL THE CAR IS TURNED OFF. NISSAN HAS CHANGED THE CAR FRONT SEAT CUSHION ON 24APRIL2010. THE PROBLEM STILL OCCURS MORE OFTEN THAN BEFORE. I CONTACT NISSAN ([XXX]). NISSAN REP WOULD NOT RETURN MY CALL.[XXX]ASKED ME TO TAKE THE CAR TO THE DEAL FIRST THEN CALL HIM BACK. I DID AND LEFT MANY MESSAGES. I GOT NO REPLY BACK. I WANT THIS ISSUE FIXED BEFORE WARRANTY IS OVER. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. PLEASE HELP ME. AT ABOUT 1200 TO 1500 RPMS THE VEHICLE STARTS TO VIBRATE THROUGHOUT THE STEERING WHEEL. WHEN SITTING IN TRAFFIC FOR 30 MINUTES AND DRIVING WITHIN THAT RANGE YOUR HAND BECOMES NUMB. WHEN I STARTED TO DO RESEARCH ON IT APPEARS THAT ALOT OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AND THE NEW YORK TIMES EVEN WROTE AN ARTICLE ABOUT IT. YOU HAVE TO DRIVE THE CAR OVER 50 MPH TO AVOID IT. THAT LEADS TO SPEEDING WHERE I LIVE. NISSAN IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND THEY INDICATED THAT SOME PEOPLE ARE MORE SENSITIVE TO THE ISSUE THAN OTHER PEOPLE. I TOOK THE CAR AND THE DEALER INDICATED REFER TO YOU ARTICLE BECAUSE WE CAN'T FIX IT. I THINK IT'S ABSURD MY VEHICLE HAS 2100 MILES ON IT AND I'VE NEVER OWNED A CAR THAT DOES THIS. YOU HAVE TO MOVE YOUR HANDS OFF THE WHEEL BECAUSE THEY GO NUMB. I WAS TOLD DRIVE FASTER OR TAKE A DIFFERENT ROUTE TO WORK. *TR
THE PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT INTERMITTENTLY INDICATES THAT THE PASSENGER AIR BAG IS OFF WHILE THE SEAT IS OCCUPIED BY AN ADULT. THIS IS THE SAME PROBLEM FOR WHICH A RECALL WAS ISSUED FOR 2007-2008 NISSAN ROGUES AND MANY OTHER NISSAN MODELS. THE NISSAN SERVICE DEPARTMENT CANNOT FIND THE PROBLEM. *TR
2009 NISSAN ROGUE STALLED WHILE DRIVING AT 35MPH ON A FRIDAY AFTERNOON WITH NO SIGNS OF INCIDENTS BEFOREHAND TRIED TO RESTART A LEAST 10 TIMES CAR WOULD START RUN FOR A FEW SECONDS AND STALL. HAD CAR TOWED TO NISSAN DEALER, WHERE IT WAS CHECKED MONDAY MORNING NISSAN SERVICE COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG AND THERE WERE NO CODES STORED SO WAS RETURNED TO ME WITH NO WORK DONE EXCEPT ROAD TEST.. TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2009 NISSAN ROGUE. WHILE DRIVING UNDER 40 MPH, THERE WERE UNUSUAL RUMBLING AND VIBRATING SOUNDS COMING FROM THE ENGINE AREA. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER THREE TIMES. THE FAILURE PERSISTED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TRADED IN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,910. UPDATED 8/24/10 *CN NISSAN ADVISED THERE WERE NO PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE FROM AUGUST 2009 TO NOVEMBER 2009. THEN IN DECEMBER 2009 A RECALL NOTICE FROM NISSAN WAS ISSUED FOR THE VERY SAME PROBLEM SHE WAS COMPLAINING ABOUT. THE CONSUMER HAD ALREADY TRADED THE VEHICLE. UPDATED 08/26/10 THE CONSUMER STATED SHE RECEIVED A SECOND RECALL NOTICE THAT STATED NISSAN WAS CONDUCTING A VOLUNTARY SERVICE CAMPAIGN ON CERTAIN ROGUE VEHICLES TO REDUCE A RATTLING NOISE THAT MAY BE COMING FROM THE TRANSMISSION AT LOW SPEEDS. I JUST RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE 15V-032 FOR DRIVER SIDE WATER LEAK. MY VEHICLE HAS LEAK ON PASSENGER SIDE. CARPET IS MOLDY AND BADLY DISCOLORED. ANY WAY THE 2 ARE CONNECTED? *TR
NISSAN ROGUE 2009 TRANSMISSION FAILURE AT 16,000 MILES. TRANSMISSION BEGAN TO MAKE STRANGE NOISES UNDER LOAD FROM THE FRONT END. DEALER REPLACED TRANSMISSION AND CLAIMED THERE IS NO CURRENT RECALL. A CHECK ON THE INTERNET INDICATES THE PROBLEM IS PERVASIVE ACROSS 2008 AND 2009 MODELS. *TR
I REPORTED A VIBRATION ISSUE WITHIN THE FIRST TWO WEEKS OF LEASE INCEPTION ON MY 2009 NISSAN ROGUE SL AWD.. I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE BBB AND NISSAN STATED THERE IS NO PROBLEM. AFTER A NISSAN DEALER FOUND THE PROBLEM , NISSAN TOLD THE DEALER NOT TO REPAIR THE SUV. HERE IS A VIDEO. I ESCALATED THE BBB COMPLAINT TO A HEARING AND NISSAN STATED THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG EVEN THOU THEY RECIVED A NISSAN DEALERS REPAIR ORDER STATEING A PROBLEM WAS FOUND. I HAD TO DRIVE OUT OF STATE TO HAVE IT DIAGNOSED HAS A BINDING AXLE SHAFT. IN THE SWORN IN AND RECORDED HEARING WITNESSED MY THE ARBIRTRATOR WE AGREED TO INSPECT THE ROGUE TOGRTHER BUT HAS NEVER CONTACTED ME OR THE DEALEAR AFTER WE LEFT NUMERIOUS MESSAGES. I HAVE HAD TO RETAIN A LAWYER. I CAN NOT EVEN BEGIN TO TELL YOU HOW PISSED OFF I AM. NISSAN ANDS ITS DEALERS ARE TELLING EVERYONE THERE IS NO PROBLEM AND THAT IT IS DESIGNED TO VIBRATE. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 NISSAN ROGUE. WHILE DRIVING 8 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL, GEAR SHIFTER, AND BRAKES ALL LOCK UP AT THE SAME TIME. THE CONTACT STATED THAT IF FELT AS IF THE VEHICLE HAD SHUT OFF. HE HAD TO APPLY THE EMERGENCY BRAKE IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE. WHEN HE TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, IT OPERATED NORMALLY. THE DEALER INSPECTED THE VEHICLE, BUT COULD NOT DETERMINE WHY THE BRAKES, STEERING, AND GEAR SHIFTER LOCKED UP. THE CONTACT REFUSES TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE UNTIL THE MANUFACTURER HAS LOCATED THE FAILURE AND DECLARES IT SAFE TO DRIVE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 4,500 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,500.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 NISSAN ROGUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS ON HER VEHICLE WERE NOT FAST ENOUGH TO CLEAR THE RAIN FROM THE WINDSHIELD. THE FAILURE HAS CAUSED POOR VISIBILITY WHEN DRIVING IN THE RAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT ALL THE ROGUE VEHICLES PERFORMED IN THAT MANNER; THEREFORE, NOTHING COULD BE DONE TO ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,700.
SO SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE BRAND NEW THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG WOULD DEACTIVATE WHEN SAT IN. AS WAS THIS A VERY INTERMITTENT PROBLEM AND WOULD NOT DO IT WHEN WE HAD TIME TO TAKE IT BACK TO THE DEALER THE CAR NOW HAS 30,000 MILES ON IT AND NOW WHEN NOBODY IS SITTING IN THE SEAT THE AIR BAG STAYS ON AT ALL TIME, AND WHEN SAT IN IT DEACTIVATES. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AT 29,000 MILES AND THEY SAID DUE TO THE AGE IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND IT WOULD COST A LOT OF MONEY TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE SEAT CUSHION. THEY SAW I HAD MY IPHONE ON THE SEAT AND SAID THAT IS PROBABLY THE REASON FOR THE FAILURE. OK SO A PRESSURE SWITCH IS HURT BY A PHONE? I SEE THERE WAS A RECALL FOR 2008 UNITS AND WONDER IF THIS SHOULD APPLY TO 2009 AS WELL AS THIS AIR BAG NOT DEPLOYING MY RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY. IT IS NOW MAY 2013 AND THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN NOW VERIFIED BY THE DEALER AND UNDER 36000 MILE WARRANTY, WHY IS THERE NOT A LONGER WARRANTY ON SUCH A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE? *TR
I UNDERSTAND THAT FEDERAL LAW NOW REQUIRES ALL NEW CARS TO HAVE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEMS. I WOULD LIKE TO COMPLAIN THAT MANY OF THESE SYSTEMS ARE SO SENSITIVE THAT THEY WILL BE EFFECTIVELY USELESS BECAUSE DRIVERS WILL IGNORE THEM. I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN RELIGIOUS ABOUT REGULAR MAINTENANCE, INCLUDING CHECKING MY TIRE PRESSURE REGULARLY. MY 2009 NISSAN VERSA'S TIRE "IDIOT LIGHT" IS ALMOST ALWAYS ON. IT TAKES AS LITTLE AS 1/3 LB. CHANGE FROM THE RECOMMENDED PRESSURE FOR THE LIGHT TO COME ON -- SOMETIMES IT COMES ON WHILE I'M DRIVING AND IS OFF AGAIN BY THE TIME I FINISH MY TRIP. CONSULTING WITH BOTH DEALERS AND OTHER OWNERS OF NEW CARS CONFIRMS MY SUSPICION THAT THE SENSORS ARE JUST TOO SENSITIVE -- SOME HAVE REPLACED ALL THEIR SENSORS TWO OR THREE TIMES TO NO EFFECT. I JUST WANTED TO MAKE SOMEONE AWARE THAT THESE DEVICES, WHILE A GOOD IDEA IN PRINCIPAL, ARE JUST TOO SENSITIVE (AND ANNOYING) RIGHT NOW FOR THEM TO BE USEFUL SAFETY DEVICES. THANK YOU. *TR
