ANOTHER IN THE LONG LIST OF PEOPLE WHO ARE EXPERIENCING VEHICLE DISABLING FEATURES DUE TO NISSAN'S ENGINEERING FAILURES. IT'S WILD THAT THERE ISN'T MORE PROTECTION FROM HUGE CORPORATE BULLIES LIKE NISSAN. GARBAGE PRODUCT WITH NO TRUST BEHIND THE NAME. MY HOPE IS THAT PEOPLE READ THESE AND START TELLING NISSAN WITH YOUR WALLETS. DON'T BUY. JUST LIKE THE OTHERS WHEN CAR IS IN USE FOR MORE THAN 45 MINUTES, HEAT CAUSES THE GOVERNOR TO DISABLE SPEED TO THE POINT WHERE MY FAMILY HAS ALMOST BEEN REAR ENDED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THIS ISN'T A ONE TIME OCCURRENCE, IT HAPPENS WEEKLY. NISSAN CLAIMS THERE IS NOTHING WRONG AND/OR NO FIX. CAR IS WORTH NOTHING AND IS BARELY WORTH DRIVING. WAY TO STICK IT TO THE LITTLE GUY NISSAN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 NISSAN ROGUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE AT AN UNDISCLOSED SPEED, SHE HEARD AN ABNORMAL SOUND COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT DROVE TO HER DESTINATION WITH THE SOUND STILL PRESENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO REFERRED THE CONTACT TO A TRANSMISSION SPECIALIST. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT METAL SHAVINGS WERE FOUND IN THE TRANSMISSION. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 99,000.
PASSENGER AIRBAG SENSOR BLINKS DUE TO A MALFUNCTION. COST TO FIX IS $3K DUE TO HAVING TO REPLACE THE PASSENGER SEAT WHERE THE SENSOR IS, WHICH IS HALF THE VALUE OF THE VEHICLE. THIS HAS BEEN BLINKING FOR THE PAST YEAR AND IS EXTREMELY DISTRACTING AND DANGEROUS WHILE DRIVING. NOT SURE IF THIS MEANS THAT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY, WHICH IS *EXTREMELY* DANGEROUS. ADDITIONALLY, WHEN TRAVELING, THE VEHICLE OFTEN LOSES ACCELERATION, EVEN WITH THE GAS PEDAL ALL THE WAY DOWN. IT BECOMES EXTREMELY DIFFICULT AND DANGEROUS TO STOP OR TURN. THE STEERING WHEEL LOSES POWER STEERING, AND THE BRAKES DO NOT ENGAGE QUICKLY AT ALL.
WHILE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE ON HIGHWAY AND SECONDARY ROADS I NOTICED A LOSS OF POWER AND SLIPPAGE OF THE TRANSMISSION. I TOOK TO A LOCAL SHOP SEVERAL TIMES BUT WASN'T ABLE TO DIAGNOSE. I FINALLY TOOK TO A NISSAN DEALER ( MCGUIRE NISSAN OF SYRACUSE ) AND THEY DIAGNOSED AS A BAD TRANSMISSION. THEY GIVE ME AN ESTIMATE TO INSTALL NEW TRANSMISSION AND OIL COOLER FOR TRANSMISSION FOR $5,300.00 PLUS TAX. I THEN DID SOME RESEARCH ON THE NISSAN AND FOUND OUT THAT NISSAN HAD ALOT OF ISSUES WITH THEIR TRANSMISSIONS , SO MANY THAT THEY EXTENDED THE WARRANTY FROM 5 YEAR - 60,000 MILES TO 10 YEAR - 120,000 MILES ON MOST OF THEIR VEHICLES. I CONTACTED NISSAN DIRECTLY AND THEY SAID THIS DOESN'T PERTAIN TO MY 2011 AS IT ONLY COVERED THE 2003 THRU 2010. MY VEHICLE ONLY HAS 74,000 MILES. DURING MY RESEARCH I READ THAT A LOT OF THESE TRANSMISSIONS WERE ONLY GOOD FOR 80,000 MILES AND THAT IS WHY THEY EXTENDED THE WARRANTY. ULTIMATELY I WAS COMPELLED TO GET THIS FIXED FROM MCGUIRE OF SYRACUSE AND WITH TAX COST ME $5,791.54. I BELIEVE THAT MY CAR SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL AS THE ISSUES ARE THE SAME AS THE OTHER YEARS THAT HAD ISSUES. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
LOST EXCCELERATION WOULD NOT GO ABOVE 60 MPH, THE RPMS WERE GOING OVER 3 I HAD TO PULL OVER ON THE HIGHWAY. THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT OR ANYTHING IT JUST HAPPENED, IT EVENTUALLY STARTED BACK UP BUT SOON LOST POWER AGAIN, I WAS BARELY ABLE TO TURN ONTO THE STREET GOING TO THE AUTO SHOP WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. I OWNED THIS VEHICLE LESS THAN A YEAR ONLY 4 MONTHS WHEN THIS HAPPENED. THIS WAS A VERY ALARMING SITUATION I ALMOST GOT RAN OVER THANKFULLY I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER. THEY CHECKED IT OUT AND COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING THEN FINALLY SAID IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION THEN ALSO MENTIONED THAT I HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE AXLE WHICH WAS LEAKING AND COSTED ME MORE MONEY, WHICH I DON'T THINK I SHOULD HAVE HAD TO PAY SINCE I ONLY HAD IT FOR 4 MONTHS. THIS VEHICLE IS UNSAFE AND I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING IT ANYMORE SINCE I GOT IT BACK. I HAVE DONE RESEARCH AND SEE THAT THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN RECALLED I HAD NO IDEA TO EVEN LOOK FOR A RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE. I HAVE A FRIEND WHO HAS A 2016 THAT HAS THE SAME PROBLEM RECENTLY HAPPEN TO HER ON THE ROAD.
AFTER TRAVELING AN HOUR OR SO ON THE INTERSTATE AT POSTED SPEED LIMITS THE VEHICLE LOOSES ACCELERATION SLOWLY TILL IT WILL NOT GO ANYMORE. HAVE HAD TO PULL OFF AT AN EXIT ONCE & THE SHOULDER TWICE NOW. NO LOSS IN POWER TO THE VEHICLE. IT JUST WONT GO. SAT FOR 30 MINUTES WITH THE HOOD UP TO ALLOW IT TO COOL. WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE OTHER 30 MINUTES OF THE TRIP. SEEMS TO BE A KNOWN ISSUE FOR THIS VEHICLE. IT LOOKS LIKE THEY TOOK CARE OF THE OLDER ROGUES, BUT NOT THE 2011 WITH THE SAME CVT TRANSMISSION. THE VEHICLE HAS WORKED FINE FOR THE 150K MILES IT HAS ON IT. JUST A VERY UNSAFE ISSUE THIS VEHICLE IS HAVING. NO CONFIDENCE ON MY DAUGHTER TRAVELING IN IT BACK & FORTH TO COLLEGE ANYMORE WITH IT ACTING THIS WAY. HOPEFULLY NISSAN WILL STEP UP & CORRECT THIS ISSUE.
THE AIRBAGS LIGHT IS ON AND THE WINDOW WIPER DOES NOT SPRAY VERY HARD TO CLEAN THE WINDOWS
ON 7/31/2020, TRAVELING FROM FT. LAUDERDALE TO SARASOTA, FLORIDA, ON I-95, (ALLIGATOR ALLEY) AROUND 1 HR IN AFTER TURNING ON CRUISE CONTROL, (90+ OUTSIDE TEMPS), CRUISING AT AROUND 82 MPH ... CAR SUDDENLY DECELERATED TO -60 MPH AND, PEDAL TO THE METAL, WOULD NOT ACCELERATE, CONTINUED TO SLOW DOWN. I PULLED INTO A REST STOP, TURNED IT OFF FOR 20 MINUTES, THEN RESTARTED IT AND USED MY FIXD DEVICE AND APP. IT BROUGHT UP CODE P0744, "TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH CIRCUIT INTERMITTENT". IT RAN OK FOR THE REST OF THE TRIP AND THE RETURN TRIP BUT ACCELERATION WAS SLUGGISH. ON 9/3/2020, SAME TRIP, SAME ROAD, SAME 90+ TEMPS OUTSIDE, ON I-95, (ALLIGATOR ALLEY), A LITTLE OVER 1 HOUR IN, NO CRUISE CONTROL THIS TIME, CAR DID THE SAME EXACT THING: DECELERATED FROM 82 TO -60 MPH. I PULLED INTO A REST STOP, TURNED IT OFF FOR A HALF HOUR, RE-STARTED IT, RAN THE FIXD APP AGAIN, BUT THIS TIME IT SAID "NO ERRORS", AND THREW NO CODES. BOTH TIMES CAR WAS OK AFTER BEING OFF AWHILE. NO PROBLEMS ON RETURN TRIP ...BUT IN GENERAL, ACCELERATION IS SLUGGISH. I STOPPED BY THE DEALER AND THE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE SAID THEY COULD PUT THE COMPUTER ON IT FOR $139 BUT PROBABLY COULDN'T DIAGNOSE IT UNLESS IT WAS HAPPENING OR SOME CODES WERE STORED, WHICH WAS DOUBTFUL I SAID NO THANKS. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM! THERE ARE OVER 200 COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE/PROBLEM FOR THIS YEAR ALONE, BUT IT APPEARS THAT ALL ROGUES SEEM TO HAVE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS EXACT ISSUE OF DECELERATION AND THE MANUFACTURER ACTS AS IF IT DOESN'T EXIST. SOME HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION, SOME HAVE ADDED TRANSMISSION COOLERS WITH NO IMPROVEMENT. I'VE OWNED DOZENS OF VEHICLES AND HAVE NEVER ENCOUNTERED THIS PROBLEM BEFORE. IN MID PANDEMIC WITH ONLY MY SS CHECK AS INCOME I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. I NEED TO DRIVE UP TO NY AND MA AND NEED A SAFE, RELIABLE CAR!
I WAS DRIVING ON THE NJTP AND THE SPEED LIMIT IS 65 AND MY CAR WOULDN'T PASS 40MPH. I DECIDED TO GET OFF ON THE NEXT EXIT AND WHEN I CAME TO THE LIGHT I STOPPED. WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN I COULDN'T MOVE FORWARD. I WAS STUCK. AFTER ABOUT 5 MINUTES I WAS ABLE TO GO AGAIN. THIS IS NOT THE ONLY TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED.
WHEN DRIVING UPHILL THE DAMAGED TORQUE CONVERTER CAUSED THE TRANSMISSION TO BADLY OVERHEAT, ONLY ALLOWING THE CAR TO GO 40 MPH. THE TORQUE COVERTER TRANSMISSION ISSUES CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO BECOME A HAZARD ON THE ROAD BECAUSE OF THE SLOW SPEED.
DRIVING HOME ON THE NIGHT OF JULY 4TH 2020 I EXPERIENCED MY SUV BEGINNING TO STRUGGLE IN ACCELERATING WHILE I WAS IN MOTION OF DRIVING MY VEHICLE. I HAD TO TRY MY BEST TO GET OFF THE MAIN HIGHWAY AND ON TO THE SIDE. I PULLED MY SUV OVER TO THE SIDE AND STARTED IT BACK UP TO SEE THE PROBLEM AND I NOTICE THE ENGINE REVS BUT VEHICLE DOES NOT ACCELERATE AS IT SHOULD. I GOT MY VEHICLE TOWED AND I HAVENT BEEN ABLE TO DRIVE IT SINCE THE SITUATION.I BELIEVE IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE TRANSMISSION.

ON JUNE 12, 2020, WHILE I WAS DRIVING IN I-75 KNOXVILLE TO CHATTANOOGA MY NISSAN REFUCE VELOCITY AND POWER AUTOMATICALLY WITHOUT MY CONTROL STOPPING. I WAS PLACING FROM DRIVE TO PARK, WAIT SOME MINUTES WUTH MY ENERGENCY LIGHT ON. THE TRAFFIC WAS DANGER BEHIND ME. LATER THE SAME SITUATION OCCUR IN SWALLFORD EXIT 5 ON I-75, IN THAT WAY I SUPPOSE TGE PROBLEM COMING IN HIGH SPEED ON INTERSTATE,BECAUSE ON SLOW NOT OCCUR. I WAS TAKING MY VEHICLE MISSAN ROGUE 2011 IAT DEALER THEY THOUGHT THAT TGEY NEEDED TO REPROGRAMMED THE PVC SENSOR OR AIR FLOW. JOINED TO TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH SOLENOID CIRCUIT. BUT THE DIAGNOSIS RESULTED WIRST THAN IT. DEALER SAID ME I NEEDED TO REPLACE MY TRANSMISSION. U VERY UPPSET WITH NISSAN BECAUSE THIS VEHICLE IS NOT OLD MILES WITH THE CHANGE IF OIL ALL THE TIME. I CHANGE THE OIL TRANSMISSION ON DEALER PAID $156.00 AND THEY TOLD ME I NEED TO PAY $3820 FOR TRANSMISSION. THERE IS SOMRTHING WRONG AND NOT ETHIC WITH TGE CUSTOMER. THE CAR IS A NEED AND THE NISSAN SHOULD BE MORE HONEST WHEN THEY CHECK THE VEHICLE THE DEALERS AND MORE WHEN THE PARTS ARE DONE TO BE CHECK OR VERIFIED IN THE AUTHORIZED OR CERTIFIED NISSAN MECHANICS. I ASK YOU FOR BE FAIR AND CONSCIENCE IN MY SITUATION BECAUSE I DONT BELIEVE IN THIS KIND OF ATTENTION FOR NISSAN TOWARDS CUSTOMER AFTER ALREADY PAID MONTHLY A VEHICLE. THE DEALER WANTS TO CHARGE ME THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO REPAIR THIS BECAUSE THE CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY. A WEB SEARCH WILL FIND MANY MANY NISSAN CARS WITH THIS PROBLEM. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD ENTIRE SEAT MUST BE REPLACED BECAUSE OF THE SENSOR AT A COST OF $3000. THIS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT HAS BEEN REPORTED BY MANY PEOPLE. THIS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT. THEY KEPT PUTTING THIS PART IN EVEN AFTER THEY STARTING FAILING IN 2008, 2009, 2010 MODELS. WE ARE REQUIRED FOR THIS TO WORK TO GET OUR CARS INSPECTED. THAT IS HALF THE VALUE OF THE CAR. THE ENTIRE SEAT MUST BE REPLACED??!!?? I DON'T KNOW IF THE BAG WILL DEPLOY OR NOT IF THERE IS AN ACCIDENT. HOW LONG UNTIL THE OTHER ONE FAILS.
AS I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE (2011 NISSAN ROGUE) CUT OFF AS I WAS SLOWING DOWN. THE VEHICLE BEGAN JERKING AS I WAS DRIVING. ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD CAME ON AND THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF AT A STOP LIGHT. DURING ANOTHER INCIDENT THE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE GOING DOWN A RODE WITH A SMALL HILL. THEN STALLED ON THE HIGHWAY OFF RAMP. LUCKILY, WE HAD A SHOULDER AREA TO PULL OFF. AFTER SITTING IN THE VEHICLE AN WAITING FOR 10 - 15 MINUTES THE VEHICLES STARTED AND BEGAN DRIVING FINE. WE LATER TOOK THE CAR TO OUR LOCAL MECHANIC AND HER CHANGED ALL THE BELTS, AXLE RODS, BALL JOINTS AS WELLS AS AN OIL CHANGE. THE CAR ROD FINE FOR 3 MONTHS THEN BAM! ONCE AGAIN THE SAME ISSUES OCCURRED. OUR MECHANIC SUGGESTED RESEARCHING INFORMATION ABOUT THE TRANSMISSION BECAUSE HE FELT THE CAR TRANSMISSION SHOULD NOT BE THE PROBLEM BUT FROM ALL THE PROBLEMS WE WERE TELLING HIM, HIM THINKS IT IS THE TRANSMISSION. WE HAVE READ SEVERAL CURRENT AND FORMER NISSAN ROGUE OWNER COMPLAINTS AND REALIZED THE PROBLEM WAS BIGGER THAN MINOR WEAR AND TEAR. I WOULD APPRECIATE IF THE NHTSA WILL TAKE THIS MATTER SERIOUSLY AND HAVE NISSAN TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE FAULTY WORK IT IS DOING WITH VEHICLES PUT THE LIVES OF MILLIONS AT RISK DAILY!!!!
CAR WON'T GO OVER 40 WITHOUT TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. BLOWING CODES FOR THE TRANSMISSION THAT NISSAN KNOWS IS AN ON GOING PROBLEM WITH THEIR CVT TRANSMISSION. MULTIPLE PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. THEY REFUSE TO RECALL THE TRANSMISSION, ACKNOWLEDGE THEY ARE THE PROBLEM.

THE CVT IS SLIPPING FROM 1ST GEAR TO 2ND GEAR AND ALSO GOES IN "LIMP MODE". THE RPM'S REV UP TO 6 AND THE SPEED IS ONLY AT 40MPH. THERE IS SOME WHINNING NOISE ALSO
AUTOMATIC CVT TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN SLIPPING AND UNABLE TO SHIFT TO 3RD AND 4TH GEAR. I HAVE TO PLACE IT INTO "N" WHEN MOVING THEN SHIFT TO "D" THEN IT WOULD MOVE BUT STILL SLIPS WHEN DRIVING ONLY IN 20 TO 30 MILES PER HOUR.
CAR STARTED STUTTER AT ACCELERATION AND GEAR CHANGES. AT LOW SPEED AS I WAS ACCELERATING THROUGH AN INTERSECTION, SUDDENLY THERE WAS NO POWER AT ALL AFTER A BURNING SMELL. DIAGNOSTICS SHOW THE TRANSMISSION HAS FAILED AT 89000 MILES. REMINISCENT OF THE CVT TRANSMISSION FAILURES IN OTHER YEARS THAT HAVE BEEN RECALLED.
CAR STARTED MAKING SLIGHT WHIRRING NOISE WHEN ACCELERATING. TOOK IT IN TO BE LOOKED AT AND THEY COULDN'T FIND AN ISSUE. WENT ANOTHER WEEK AND THE NOISE GOT WORSE AND STARTING SKIPPING AND LOSING POWER WHEN I TRIED TO ACCELERATE AFTER IT'S BEEN SITTING FOR A FEW HOURS, MOSTLY JUST IN FIRST GEAR. ALMOST GOT IN AN ACCIDENT PULLING INTO TRAFFIC AND LOST COMPLETE POWER FOR A FEW SECONDS, WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO GET INTO A TURN LANE BEFORE I GOT HIT BY ONCOMING TRAFFIC. TOOK IT TO ANOTHER MECHANIC AND DETERMINED IT WAS TRANSMISSION AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THEY'RE TELLING ME MY CAR COULD TURN INTO A GIANT PAPERWEIGHT AT ANY MOMENT.

THIS LAST TIME TO THE NISSAN IN MY AREA, I HAD THEM LOOK AT MY PASSENGER AIRBAG SENSOR, AS THE SENSOR INDICATES OFF, EVEN IF THERE IS NO WEIGHT ON THE SEAT. MY SERVICE ADVISOR AND THE HEAD OF THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT BOTH SAID THAT IT'S NOT CLEAR IF THE AIRBAGS WILL DEPLOY IF THE SENSOR IS OFF. THEY SAID I COULD GET IT REPLACED, BUT THE ISSUE IS: IT WILL COST $2,600 BECAUSE THEY NEED TO REPLACE THE WHOLE SEAT. COME TO FIND OUT, THIS IS ACTUALLY AN ISSUE REPORTED TO THE NHTSA FROM OTHER 2011 ROGUE OWNERS. I AM THE PRIMARY DRIVER IN MY FAMILY, BUT NOW I AM WORRIED TO TRANSPORT ANYONE. IT DOESN'T LOOK LIKE THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL, BUT THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT CAN CAUSE ME TO SELL MY VEHICLE AND NOT GET ANOTHER NISSAN. 2011 NISSAN ROUGUE CVT FAILED AT 88,000 MILES WHEN MY SON WAS DRIVING FROM WICHITA TO DALLAS. ON THE HIGHWAY OUTSIDE OF DALLAS, AT 70 MPH, THE RPMS SHOT UP AND THE CAR LOST POWER WITHOUT ANY WARNING. LIMPED TO AN OFF RAMP AND LOCAL SERVICE STATION.THE CVT HAD FAILED. IT WAS REPLACED BY A LOCAL SHOP AND NISSAN SAYS THAT 2011 MODELS ARE NOT COVERED BY THE EXTENDED 120K MILE WARRANTY.
THIS VEHICLE IS VERY DANGEROUS TO OPERATE ON WARMER DAYS. THE TRANSMISSION SEEMS TO OVERHEAT VERY EASILY CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO GO INTO A FAIL-SAFE "LIMP MODE". THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AS IT OCCURS ON THE HIGHWAY, ON HILLS, MOUNTAIN ROADS, AND WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR. THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE CLOCK SPRING IN THE STEERING WHEEL. THERE ARE SEVERAL PEOPLE WHO HAVE POSTED ON THE INTERNET THE SAME PROBLEM ( THIS WAS HOW I DISCOVERED IT WAS THE CLOCK SPRING). NONE OF THE CONTROLS ON THE STEERING WHEEL WORK AS WELL AS THE HORN DOES NOT WORK. WHEN YOU TURN THE STEERING WHEEL ALL THE WAY TO THE LEFT ( I RELIEVE IT'S TO THE LEFT) THE HORN WILL THEN WORK. I FIND THIS TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE SINCE I CAN NOT ALERT ANOTHER DRIVER USING MY HORN. I'M LESS CONCERNED ABOUT THE CONTROLS ON THE STEERING WHEEL WORKING.
