TAKATA RECALL I WOULD LIKE TO INFORM EVERYONE OF OUR ISSUE ON OUR 2011 NISSAN ROGUE. WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY WE LOST ALL POWER IN AN INSTANT. THIS IS NOT SAFE! WE ALSO SAW THE ISSUE OF NOT BEING ABLE TO ACCELERATE AND EVEN WHEN ON CRUISE CONTROL IT COMPLETELY FALLING OFF DUE TO LACK OF POWER.
I HAVE A 2011 NISSAN ROGUE AND AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE WITH MY DAUGHTER I LOST ALL POWER TO MY TRANSMISSION AND WAS ALMOST HIT FROM THE BACK BY A SEMI. I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT ISSUES WITH MY TRANSMISSION LOOSING POWER AND BEING STRANDED WITH MY 5 YEAR OLD. NISSAN NEEDS TO TAKE ACCOUNTABILITY FOR THIS AND GET THIS TAKEN CARE OF.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 NISSAN ROGUE. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY LOST POWER AND FAILED TO ACCELERATE ABOVE 5 MPH WITHOUT WARNING. IN ADDITION, WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE JERKED FORWARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 83,153.
VEHICLE LOSES POWER GOING UP A MOUNTAIN AT A 40 DEGREE ANGLE FOR MORE THAN 5 MILES. VEHICLE STALLS LOSES POWER AND STALLS TO A CONPLETE STOP. WHEN DRIVEN ON A FLAT EVEN SURFACE VEHICLE HAS A VERY SLUGGISH AND JERKING MOVEMENT THAT MAKES THE VEHICLE LOSE POWER AND DECELERATES. VEHICLE HAS LOSS OF POWER WHEN REVERSING AND MAKES A VERY LOUD NOISE DOING SO.
THIS VEHICLE IS A DEATH TRAP!! COMPLETELY LOST ALL POWER WHEN TRAVELING IN A HIGHWAY . AS WE WERE HEADING UPHILL, THE TRANSMISSION STARTED MAKING A LOUD WHISTLING NOISE AND ACCELERATION WAS GONE. I ALMOST GOT HIT BY AN 18 WHEELER AS I MOVED TO THE LANE TO THE RIGHT "SLOW LANE " (TRUCKS). I HAD TO MOVE MAKE MY WAY TO THAT LANE AND EVEN THE SLOWEST SEMI WAS TRAVELING A LOT FASTER THAN MY VEHICLE WAS . I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE ON THE 15 FREEWAY NORTHBOUND HEADING TOWARDS LAS VEGAS AND IN ORDER FOR ME TO SAFELY EXIT I HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO RISK GETTING HIT AND KILLED BY BIG RIGS AS I MOVED TO THE RIGHT AND GOT OUT AT THE NEXT EXIT. UPON EXITING I WENT TO PARK TO A GAS STATION AND WHEN I HIT REVERSE TO PARK PROPERLY, THE CAR DIDN'T MOVE AT ALL!! AT THE GAS STATION A GOOD SAMARITAN RAN A DIAGNOSTIC AND SAID THE ERROR "TORQUE CLUTCH COVERTER". IN OTHER WORDS THE TRANSMISSION. I GOOGLED 2011 NISSAN ROGUE AND MULTIPLE PEOPLE HAVE REPORTED THE SAME ISSUE ! WHERE THEY LOSE ALL POWER WHILE TRAVELING IN A HIGHWAY (UPHILL MOST OF THE TIME). IT IS UNBELIEVABLE THAT NISSAN HAS NOT YET RECALLED THIS VEHICLE !! WITH SO MANY. WAR DEATH EXPERIENCES. COINCIDENTALLY MOST ISSUES START AT 60K MILES ONCE THE MFG WARRANTY IS UP. THIS IS BOGUS AND A TOTAL THEFT BY A NISSAN TO THE CONSUMER. THEY SHOULD ONLY SELL CARS THAT ARE SAFE NOT DEATH TRAPS LIKE THE NISSAN ROGUE. THEY'VE PREVIOUSLY RECALLED VEHICLES FOR TRANSMISSION ISSUES FROM LIKE 2004-2010 AND CLAIM THE ISSUE WAS FIXED IN ALL 2011 MODELS BUT THAT WAS NOT THE CASE. TOO MANY PEOPLE ARE IN DANGER WHILE DRIVING THIS CAR AND ENDANGERING THE LIVES OF OTHERS SHARING THE ROAD WITH THESE FAULTY VEHICLES. *TR
WITH LOW MILES ON MY CAR I HAD A COMPLETE CVT TRANSMISSION FAILURE WITHOUT WARNING. IT STARTED WITH ONE BUMP BACKING UP. I PULLED OUT AND HAD POWER LOSS FOR A SHORT WHILE. WHEN I TRIED TO PULL OUT INTO TRAFFIC AGAIN, I ALMOST GOT HIT AND THE CAR BUCKED AS I CROSSED THE ROAD AND TRIED TO MAKE IT TO A NEARBY PARKING LOT. I COULD ONLY GO ABOUT 10 MPH AND IT FELT LIKE THE FRONT END WAS GOING TO DROP AS IT BUCKED DOWN THE ROAD. WHEN I MADE IT TO THE PARKING LOT, IT WOULDN'T MOVE AT ALL AND IT HAD TO BE PULLED ONTO A FLAT BED. THE TRANSMISSION SHOP, RECOMMENDED A NEW TRANSMISSION BECAUSE IT WOULD BE CHEAPER THAN TRYING TO REBUILD THE CVT TRANSMISSION. AS THEY TRIED TO FIND A TRANSMISSION FOR MY VEHICLE, THEY SAID THEY FOUND MANY THAT WERE PULLED DUE TO DAMAGE WHICH TOLD THEM THE NISSAN CVT TRANSMISSION WAS JUNK. THEY RECOMMENDED THAT I USE IT TIL THE NEW WARRANTY EXPIRED AND THEN MAYBE SELL THE VEHICLE. I WAS THE ONLY DRIVER OF THE CAR AND BABIED IT AND CHANGED THE FLUIDS AND ENDED UP TRADING THE CAR ON ANOTHER AS I COULD NOT TRUST THE ROGUE TO BE SAFE PULLING INTO TRAFFIC AS IT FAILED US AND ALMOST GOT US HIT. THE CAR IS SOLD, BUT I WANT IT ON RECORD HOW DANGEROUS THE SITUATION WAS WHEN THE CVT TRANSMISSION WENT OUT WITHOUT ANY WARNING BEFOREHAND.
I HAVE A 2011 NISSAN ROGUE THAT I PURCHASED APPROXIMATELY FOUR YEARS AGO AND WHEN I PURCHASED IT HAD 33,004 MILES ON IT NOW HAS 97,500 THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT ON THIS CAR AS I WAS DRIVING IT DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 70 MILES AN HOUR LOST ALL POWER PULLED OFF THE ROAD SAFELY THANK GOD I HAD A TRACTOR AND TRAILER RIGHT BEHIND ME GOING THE SAME SPEED IT WAS KIND OF SCARY. COME TO FIND OUT MY TRANSMISSION IS NO GOOD I STILL HAVE TWO YEARS TO PAY ON THIS CAR I CONTACTED NISSAN USA THEY WILL NOT HELP ME I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP THAT I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM WILL NOT HELP ME I FEEL THESE CARS ARE DANGER IF SOMEONE WAS TO LOSE POWER AND GET REAR-ENDED SO I ENDED UP GETTING 64,000 MILES FOR A $32,000 VEHICLE THAT'S PRETTY SAD TO SAY I HOPE THAT SOMEONE STARTS A CIVIL SUIT TO MAKE NISSAN FIX THIS PROBLEM I KNOW THAT THEY HAD ISSUES WITH THE 2008 THROUGH 2010 NISSAN ROGUE'S THEY FIX THEIR PROBLEM I FEEL THEY JUST PUSH THE 2011 THROUGH WITH THE SAME CVT TRANSMISSION FOR THE MONEY THAT PEOPLE SPEND THEIR HARD EARNED MONEY I FEEL I SHOULD HAVE TO HELP PEOPLE OUT AND INCLUDING MYSELF
I WAS AT THE STOP SIGN ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN FROM A BANK PARKING LOT, WHEN THE CAR STARTED TO ACCELERATE TO THE LEFT WITH GREAT SPEED TOWARDS A MAJOR HIGHWAY JUST A FEW FEET AWAY. I TURNED MY WHEEL TO THE LEFT SO TO AVOID GETTING ON THE HIGHWAY AND BE HIT BY TRAFFIC. MY CAR WENT OVER THE METAL FENCE , THEN OVER A HILL AND ENDED UP ON TOP OF ANOTHER SET OF NEW CARS AT THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP. BOTH SIDE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. THE CAR IS TOTALED. THE CAR TOTALLY LOST CONTROL....AT THIS TIME I DO NOT HAVE PICTURES OR A POLICE REPORT AVAILABLE.
PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT HAS COME ON AND STAYED ON--WITHOUT ANYONE OR THING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. DEALER SAYS THAT MUST MEAN THE PASSENGER AIRBAG IS DEACTIVATED. CONTACTED NISSAN--THEY SAY IT WILL COST $2100 TO FIX. THEY WANT US TO PAY $700 OF THAT--SINCE THE CAR IS 5 YEARS OLD. IT HAS 83,000 MILES ON IT. SINCE AIRBAGS ARE A FEDERALLY MANDATED SAFETY FEATURE, I WOULD THINK THAT NISSAN SHOULD PAY ALL OF THE COST OF THIS FIX.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 NISSAN ROGUE. WHILE TRAVELING HIGHWAY SPEEDS, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL DID NOT RESPOND ONCE DEPRESSED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 63,000.
2011 NISSAN ROGUE. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO A DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION. *LD THE CONSUMSER STATED THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT OFFERE ANY ASSISTANCE. THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONSUMER TO INCLUDE AN AFTERMARKET OIL COOLER KIT SINCE THE REPLACEMENT TRANSMISSION WOULD ALSO BE DEFECTIVE. UPDATED 10/31/2017*JS
AFTER BEING ON THE HIGHWAY FOR ABOUT AN HOUR, THE CAR WILL NO LONGER ACCELERATE. IT WILL HOLD A CONSTANT SPEED BUT WILL NOT INCREASE. IF SPEED DROPS IT WILL NOT INCREASE BEYOND THE CURRENT SPEED. CRUISE CONTROL KICKS OFF. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT OR OVER HEATING. MECHANIC COULD NOT DIAGNOSE.
THE 2011 NISSAN ROGUE HAS A PROBLEM THAT IS COMMON WITH ALL OF THEM. WHEN GOING UPHILL IN THE VEHICLE IT LOOSES SPEED AND CAN NO LONGER ACCELERATE. THE CAR WILL SLOW DOWN TO AROUND 40 MPH. IT DEPENDS USUALLY ON THE GRADE OF THE HILL. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS SEMI TRUCKS CAN GO FASTER THAN WHAT THE VEHICLE IS GOING WHILE GOING UPHILL. CARS ARE TRYING TO PASS SEMI TRUCKS AND IF THE SEMI TRUCK HAS TO SLOW DOWN GOING UP HILL THEN THEY GET ROAD RAGED AND THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. NISSAN WILL NOT RECOGNIZE THIS ISSUE AND DEMAND THAT AN INVESTIGATION BE LAUNCHED FOR THIS TYPE OF CAR. I KNOW THAT MANY COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN SUBMITTED ON MULTIPLE CAR COMPLAINT WEBSITES ABOUT THIS SPECIFIC ISSUE WITH THIS EXACT YEAR AND MODEL OF CAR. IF IT IS HAPPENING IN MANY OF THE VEHICLES THEN IT IS SOMETHING THAT IS BUILT INTO THE CAR THAT NISSAN SHOULD KNOW ABOUT AND SHOULD BE HELP RESPONSIBLE TO FIX. ANOTHER COMMON RESULT IN ALL THE VEHICLES, THIS ISSUE JUST HAPPENS TO OCCUR RIGHT AFTER THE WARRANTY EXPIRES...50,000 MILES.

WHEN YOU PRESS THE GAS PEDAL, THE ENGINE DOES NOT GO. ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS, OVER TEN, I HAVE BEEN DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE (APPROXIMATELY 70MPH) AND THE VEHICLE BEGINS TO DECELERATE. IT DOES IT IF THE CRUISE CONTROL IS SET OR IF I AM MANUALLY PRESSING THE GAS. IT HAS DROPPED AS LOW AS 30 MPH WITHOUT RECOVERY AND I HAVE TO STOP ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD FOR 20-39 MINUTES AND THEN ATTEMPT TO DRIVE AGAIN EITHER VERY SLOWLY (APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH) AND/OR STOP FREQUENTLY TO LET THE ENGINE "REST".

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SENSOR THAT DETERMINED PASSENGER WEIGHT WAS INOPERABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 37,323.
I WAS TRAVELING TO SACRAMENTO FROM LOS ANGELES IN OCT. 2016. AFTER DRIVING FOR ABOUT 4 HOURS MY CAR STARTED TO LOSE SPEED. I PUSHED THE PEDAL ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND I COULD NOT ACCELERATE ANY FASTER. I PULLED OFF THE FREEWAY AND WAITED FOR A LITTLE WHILE AND THEN GOT BACK ON THE ROAD AND THEN WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AND NEVER WENT OFF. ON THE WAY HOME I WAS HEADED UP THE GRAPEVINE (I-5 SOUTH) AND I LOST SPEED AGAIN AND PULLED OVER TO THE TRUCK LANE GOING UPHILL AND MY SPEED DROPPED AS LOW AS 20 MPH AND THAT WAS WITH ME PUSHING THE PEDAL ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. I HAD SEVERAL SEMI-TRUCKS BEHIND ME AND COULD NOT CHANGE LANES WITHOUT POSSIBLY CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. I WAS VERY SCARED AND ONCE I MADE IT UP THE HILL I WAS ABLE TO GAIN A LITTLE SPEED GOING DOWNHILL AND CONTINUED HOME. II TOOK MY CAR TO A MECHANIC AND HE TOLD ME THAT IT WAS AN ISSUE W/MY TRANSMISSION. I CALLED NISSAN AND SINCE I WAS BARELY OVER MY WARRANTY I WAS TOLD THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR MY TRANSMISSION MYSELF AND I WAS VERY UPSET AS MY CAR HAD JUST OVER 60,000. I STARTED RESEARCHING MY ISSUE AND DISCOVERED THIS WAS A COMMON, KNOWN PROBLEM WITH NISSAN AND ROGUE'S IN PARTICULAR. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND I HOPE THEY DO SOMETHING BEFORE SOMEONE LOSES THEIR LIFE. HAVING YOUR SPEED DROP SO DRAMATICALLY ON A BUSY INTERSTATE W/SEVERAL SEMI-TRUCKS IS VERY FRIGHTENING. SINCE THEN I HAVE NOT DRIVEN MY CAR ON TRIPS OVER 2 HOURS AWAY BECAUSE I DON'T FEEL SAFE. I HAD THIS SAME TYPE OF PROBLEM MONTHS BEFORE ON A TRIP TO LAS VEGAS BUT JUST LET IT GO BECAUSE NO WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AND I THOUGHT IT WAS A FLUKE. I WAS COMPLETELY SHOCKED TO SEE THAT NISSAN KNOWS OF THIS PROBLEM W/THE TRANSMISSION AND HAS DONE NOTHING TO FIX IT. I NOW HAVE A RATTLING NOISE COMING FROM MY CAR AND I'M AFRAID TO SEE WHAT THAT IS GOING TO COST ME. I ONLY DRIVE TO/FROM WORK AND WORK LESS THAN 5 MILES FROM MY HOME. UGH!!
I HAVE A 2011 NISSAN ROGUE AND WITHIN THE PAST 2 MONTHS, I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING LOSS OF ACCELERATION ON A MINIMAL UPHILL SLOPE. BOTH TIMES, I WAS ON THE EXPRESSWAY DRIVING ABOUT 70-75 AND MY SPEED IMMEDIATELY DECREASES TO 60 AND BELOW. WHEN I PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL TO ACCELERATE, NOTHING HAPPENED. MY RPMS WERE IN THE RED ZONE- WHICH HAS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE- AND I ALMOST GOT REAR ENDED BY A SEMI THE 2ND TIME IT HAPPENED. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED OFF THE ROAD AND TOOK MY CAR TO THE NEAREST MECHANIC. THE DIAGNOSIS WAS A TRANSMISSION CODE BUT BECAUSE MY CAR HAS A CVT TRANSMISSION, HE RECOMMENDED TAKING IT TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP AS THERE HAS BEEN MANY REPORTED ISSUES WITH CVT MODELS, SO MUCH SO THAT THE WARRANTY GOT EXTENDED. UPON FURTHER RESEARCH, THE EXTENDED WARRANTY ONLY COVERS 2003-2010 MODELS. WHEN I CALLED NISSAN, THEY OF COURSE TOLD ME I WAS OUTSIDE OF WARRANTY AS ITS ONLY 5 YEARS OR 60K MILES AND OUTSIDE OF THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. THEY QUOTED ME AT $3600+ TAX FOR A NEW TRANSMISSION AS THEY SAID IT WAS THE TORQUE CONVERTER THAT IS THE ISSUE. THERE ARE MULTIPLE FORUMS ONLINE WITH STORY AFTER STORY OF THE SAME ISSUE BEING EXPERIENCED BY MANY NISSAN DRIVERS YET NISSAN FAILS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AND ADDRESS THE FACT THAT MODELS AFTER 2010 ARE EXPERIENCING THE IDENTICAL ISSUES COVERED IN THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT. NISSAN IS KNOWINGLY PLACING FAULTY TRANSMISSION IN THEIR VEHICLES THEN REFUSING TO COVER THE SERVICE COSTS DUE TO "EXPIRED WARRANTIES". FURTHERMORE, LETS ADDRESS THE FACT THAT THIS IS A SEVERE SAFETY HAZARD FOR DRIVERS. IMAGINE DRIVING AND ALL OF A SUDDEN LOSING ACCELERATION- WILL IT TAKE MULTIPLE ACCIDENTS AND GOD FORBID, DEATHS, FOR NISSAN AND THEIR EXECUTIVES TO OWN UP TO THEIR MISTAKE? POWER TRAIN FAILURE!! DEATH RISK!! WHILE ON A ROAD TRIP, MY CAR COMPLETELY LOST POWER. MY FAMILY AND I WERE IN COMPLETE DANGER. AFTER DRIVING ABOUT 50 MILES, I LOST ALL SPEED AT THE EL CAJON PASS (15 FWY NORTH, HEADING TOWARDS VICTORVILE, CA). I WAS DRIVING AT AN UPHILL INCLINE WHEN I NOTICED MY SPEED WAS DECREASING AND I BEGAIN TO MAKE MY WAY TO THE RIGHT. THE FAR RIGHT LANE, THE "SLOW LANE" IS USED BY SEMI- TRUCKS AND EVEN THOUGH THEY TRAVEL AT AT SLOW SPEEDS THEY WERE TRAVELING AT A MUCH HIGHER SPEED. I HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO CROSS THROUGH IT AND IT WAS A MIRACLE THAT WE WERE ABLE TO GET INTO THAT LANE AND EXIT THE HIGHWAY UNHARMED. I THOUGHT WE WERE GOING TO DIE SMASHED BY AN 18 WHEELER. THERE ARE ALMOST 200 COMPLAINTS FOR THIS YEAR, MAKE, MODEL STATING THE SAME ISSUE JUST ON THIS SITE, AND THERE IS MANY MORE ON OTHER SITES. PLEASE LOOK INTO IT BEFORE SOMEONE LOSES THEIR LIFE. IVE CONTACTED NISSAN AND THEY REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE ANY RESPONSIBILITY. NISSAN HAD TO ISSUE A RECALL FOR THE EXACT SAME ISSUE ON CVT TRANSMISSIONS ON PREVIOUS MODELS UP TO YEAR 2010 BUT WONT ADMIT TO 2011 VEHICLES HAVING THE SAME MALFUNCTIONING TRANSMISSION. THESE VEHICLES ARE UNSAFE AND CAN POTENTIALLY CAUSE PREVENTABLE DEATHS. NO ONE SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO SELL DEFECTIVE VEHICLES. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS SAFETY HAZARD. LETS PROTECT OUR FAMILIES.

AND THIS ONLY HAPPENED TO ME WHEN I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY DRIVING A LONG DISTANCE. UPON THE RETURN FROM MY LAST "LONG" TRIP A LIGHT DID COME ON. I TOOL IT TO MY DEALER IMMEDIATELY. THE DIAGNOSIS IN A VALVE BODY, WHICH I UNDERSTAND IS INSIDE THE TRANSMISSION. THE FACTORY WARRANTY HAS RUN OUT (BY 6,000 MILES) AT THIS POINT AND THE DEALER IS SAYING THAT THEY WONT REPLACE THE VALVE BODY WITHOUT PUTTING AN "EXTERNAL COOLANT" ON AT THE SAME TIME, BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT NISSAN IS SAYING NEEDS TO BE DONE TO PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING AGAIN. MY 3RD PARTY WARRANTY COMPANY WILL ONLY COVER THE COST OF THE VALVE BODY REPLACEMENT, BECAUSE THEY FEEL IT IS NOT THEIR RESPONSIBILITY TO PAY FOR SOMETHING THAT NISSAN SHOULD BE GOING GOOD FOR. CAT TRANSMISSION OVERHEATS AND SUBSEQUENTLY WILL NOT ACCELERATE AFTER DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS FOR OVER AN HOUR. VERY DANGEROUS. THE FIRST INCIDENT TOOK ME COMPLETELY BY SURPRISE ON A HIGHWAY IN DALLAS ENTERING DFW. I FEEL LIKE THIS IS THE DEFINITION OF A LEMON BUT ALSO VERY DANGEROUS WHEN NOT DISCLOSED.
TRANSMISSION SUDDENLY AND WITHOUT WARNING HAS CLOSE TO 100% LOSS OF POWER. THREE TIMES THIS HAPPENED WHEN STOPPED AND ATTEMPTING A LEFT TURN WITH ON COMING TRAFFIC, NARROWLY AVOIDING A BAD ACCIDENT. EVEN WITH ACCELERATOR PEDAL TO THE FLOOR CAR WOULD BARELY MOVE. CAR IS VERY DANGEROUS AND IS AT A REPAIR FACILITY WAITING FOR A NEW TRANSMISSION.
THE CAR LOST POWER. I PUSH ON THE ACCELATOR AND NOTHING WOULD HAPPEN. THIS USUALLY HAPPENS WHEN I HAVE BEEN DRIVING AROUND DOR MORE THAN AN HOUR. IT WAS VERY SCARY. LOTS OF CARS COMING AT ME AND I COULD NOT GET MY CAR TO ACCELARATE. AFTER A FEW MINUTES IT STARTED TO ACCELERATE AND IT WENT BACK TO NORMAL. I HAVE HAD THIS HAPPEN 4 TIMES. TRY CALLING NISSAN BUT NO ANSWERS. NOBODY SEEMS TO KNOW WHY MY VEHICLE IS DOING THIS.
DOOR LOCKS THROUGHOUT THE VEHICLE DO NOT LOCK/UNLOCK AS THEY SHOULD AUTOMATICALLY (DRIVER SIDE DOOR AND BOTH BACK PASSENGER DOORS). HAVE TO MANUALLY LOCK/UNLOCK. IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY OF AN ACCIDENT/FIRE ETC., THE DOORS WOULDN'T UNLOCK IN ORDER TO GET INFANTS, TODDLERS AND YOUNG CHILDREN OUT OF THE VEHICLE IN A HURRY. IF I WERE BEING FOLLOWED/STALKED, I WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO LOCK ALL MY DOORS FOR MY OWN SAFETY. BELONGINGS IN MY VEHICLE ARE AT RISK. PLEASE ISSUE A RECALL TO GET THIS SAFETY ISSUE RESOLVED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. JUST LOOK AT THE LOCK PROBLEMS ON ALL FORUMS ON THE INTERNET WITH VARIOUS NISSAN MODELS. I HAD LOCKED/ALARMED THE CAR WHEN EXISTING BUT THE DOORS WERE NOT ACTUALLY LOCKED SO WHEN YOU RETURNED TO THE VEHICLE AND PULLED ON DOOR HANDLE YOU WERE ABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR (DUE TO LACK OF LOCK ACTUALLY LOCKING) WHICH CAUSED THE ALARM TO SOUND. PAYING CLOSER ATTENTION TO SEE IF IN FACT THE LOCKS WERE LOCKING/UNLOCKING WHICH THEY WERE NOT. WHEN I ARRIVE AT DESTINATIONS, TURN THE VEHICLE OFF, THE DOORS REMAIN LOCKED AND I MANUALLY HAVE TO UNLOCK BEFORE I CAN EXIT THE VEHICLE IS ANOTHER INCIDENT IN WHICH I REALIZED THERE WAS A PROBLEM.

UPON INQUIRING ABOUT THIS ISSUE, I CAME TO FIND OUT THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH NISSAN'S CVT COMPONENTS THAT THE COMPANY IS AWARE OF, HOWEVER NO RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED. EXTREME WEATHER CONDITIONS, SUCH AS HEAT WAVES, USING THE CAR FOR A PROLONGED PERIOD OF TIME, AND TRAVELING UPHILL HAVE BEEN DOCUMENTED TO TRIGGER THE LOSS OF ACCELERATION. THIS COMMON FLAW FOUND WITH NISSAN CARS IS HIGHLY DANGEROUS AND WILL INEVITABLY RESULT IN THE LOSS OF LIFE.

WHILE DRIVING A 2011 NISSAN ROGUE BACK FROM THE DEALERSHIP, THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE VEHICLE STOPPED ACCELERATING. THE ACCELERATOR WAS PRESSED TO THE FLOOR AND NOTHING HAPPENED AT ALL. LUCKILY, I WAS ALONE IN THE VEHICLE AND NOT MY WIFE AND TWO YOUNG KIDS. THAT COULD HAVE BE DEVASTATING IF LOSS OF ACCELERATION OCCURRED ON THE FREEWAY. THIS VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH A CVT TRANSMISSION WHICH NISSAN IS APPARENTLY IS AWARE OF BUT REFUSES TO FIX EVEN WITH THE MASS AMOUNT OF COMPLAINTS THAT CURRENTLY EXIST.

I WAS ON A ROAD TRIP IN JULY OF 2016, HAD DRIVEN A COUPLE OF HOURS, DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY (75 MPH) AND SUDDENLY LOST POWER/COULD NOT ACCELERATE - DROPPED DOWN TO 20MPH WITH THE GAS PEDAL PUSHED ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE FLOOR. LATER THAT SAME TRIP, AFTER PULLING OFF TO GET GAS, THE CAR WOULD NOT GO AT ALL WHILE AT A RED STOP LIGHT THAT HAD TURNED GREEN-WITH THE GAS PEDAL PUSHED ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AGAIN. HAVE SINCE LOST POWER WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY DROPPING SPEED FROM APPROXIMATELY 70MPH TO 25-30 WITH GAS PEDAL PUSHED ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR.
NISSAN HAS HAD AND CONTINUES TO HAVE TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS, THEY DID A RECALL FOR TRANSMISSION FAILURE UP TO YEAR 2009. I HAVE A 2011 NISSAN ROGUE WITH 80,000 MILES AND I JUST RECEIVED A CALL SAYING THAT MY TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. AFTER DRIVING ABOUT AN HOUR, THE CAR BEGAN TO DECELERATE NO MATTER HOW HARD I STEPPED ON THE ACCELERATOR. I HAD EXPERIENCED THIS PROBLEM BEFORE, BUT EACH TIME I HAD TAKEN THE CAR TO NISSAN, THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DETECT THE PROBLEM. I HAD EVEN TAKEN MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP ON JUNE 14TH TO GET IT "CHECKED OUT" BEFORE MY LONG DRIVE. DURING THAT VISIT, I AGAIN COMPLAINED OF THE PROBLEM I WAS HAVING AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO FIND ANYTHING. I WAS ABLE TO GET TO MACON, GA TO ANOTHER NISSAN DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY IDENTIFIED THE PROBLEM AS THE TRANSMISSION. THEY TOLD ME THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND A TRANSMISSION COOLANT NEEDED TO BE INSTALLED. I LEFT MY CAR THERE (JUNE 23RD) AND AS OF TODAY, JULY 10TH, THEY ARE STILL WORKING ON MY CAR. FIRST THERE WAS A DELAY IN GETTING THE PART, ALTHOUGH THEY PROMISED THE PART ON JUNE 24TH. NOW THEY ARE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE MACHINE USED TO FIX THE TRANSMISSION. ALTHOUGH THEY PROVIDED A LOANER, I STILL WANT MY CAR. AS OTHERS HAVE MENTIONED, THESE TRANSMISSIONS ARE A KNOWN ISSUE IN NISSANS AND IN MOST CASES, YOU WILL NOT HAVE AN ISSUE UNTIL YOU ARE OUT OF YOUR WARRANTY. NISSAN HAS ISSUED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY (110,000 MILES) ON ALL MODELS THROUGH 2010, BUT NOTHING ON THE 2011 ROGUE. TOOK THE ROGUE TO THE NISSAN DEALER IN GRAND JUNCTION. THE DIAGNOSTIC REVIEW CONCLUDED THAT THE ROGUE REQUIRES A NEW TRANSMISSION AND COOLER. $4655 TOTAL. THE ROGUE HAS 59,750 MILES. HAVE BECOME AWARE THAT THE CVT TRANSMISSION IN NISSAN VEHICLES, INCLUDING THE ROGUE HAVE A HISTORY OF FAILURE. THE CONTACT DECIDED TO TOW THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED AND REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION.
