YELLOW PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON EVEN WHEN AN ADULT IS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT.
86,000 AND THE CVT TRANSMISSION NEED TO BE REPLACED/REBUILT. I HAVE SPOKEN WITH SEVERAL SHOPS AND THIS CVT TRANSMISSION ON THE 2016 NISSAN ROGUE IS KNOWN FOR HAVING PROBLEMS AND COMMONLY HAS TO BE REPLACED. COST OVER $3000
PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT STAYED ON, INDICATING THAT AIRBAG WOULD NOT BE ON OR ACTIVE, WHILE PASSENGER WAS IN VEHICLE. PASSENGER WAS APPROXIMATELY 140 POUNDS. AIRBAG MALFUNCTION OCCURRED WHEN FIRST ENTERING VEHICLE AND LIGHT STAYED ON. THUS FAR, OCCURRED TWO TIMES WITH TWO DIFFERENT PASSENGERS. HAVE PHOTO DOCUMENTATION. THIS VIN IS NOT LISTED ON THE AIR BAG RECALL, HOWEVER THERE ARE STILL ISSUES OCCURRING. SEEKING FOR NISSAN TO REPAIR THE MALFUNCTION OF THE AIRBAG SENSOR/ LIGHT.
SHIFT INTERLOCK SOLENOID. DOES NOT SHIFT FROM PARK POSITION INTERMITTENTLY
MY NISSAN ROGUE IS 2 YEARS OLD WITH 31,500 MILES. I WAS ACCELERATING ONTO THE HIGHWAY ON RT 2, NEAR EXIT 59 IN MASSACHUSETTS ON TUESDAY 3/20, AND THE ENGINE IN THE CAR TURNED OFF WHILE ACCELERATING, GOING ABOUT 55 MPH. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER TO THE SHOULDER SAFELY. I TRIED MULTIPLE TIMES TO RESTART THE CAR, BUT THE ENGINE WAS COMPLETELY DEAD. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO MARLBORO NISSAN, WHERE I PURCHASED THE CAR. THEY CONFIRMED THAT THE CAR STILL WOULD NOT START WHEN IT ARRIVED AT THE DEALERSHIP. THE NEXT DAY, IT STARTED AND THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE THE ISSUE. THEY WANT ME TO TAKE THE CAR HOME WITH NO EXPLANATION AND NO FIX. I FEEL COMPLETELY UNSAFE GETTING BACK BEHIND THE WHEEL OF A CAR WHERE AN ENGINE JUST TURNS OFF FOR NO REASON. I AM TOLD BY NISSAN CORPORATE CONSUMER AFFAIRS THAT THEY WILL NOT BE ABLE TO HELP IF THEY CAN'T REPLICATE THE ISSUE A SECOND TIME. THIS IS DANGEROUS, AND I AM AT A LOSS WITH WHAT TO DO NEXT. GETTING BACK IN THAT CAR ON A HIGHWAY PUTS NOT ONLY MYSELF, BUT OTHER DRIVERS AROUND ME AT RISK FOR A FATAL ACCIDENT.
IT IS A KNOWN ISSUE THAT HAS BEEN RECALLED ON OTHER MODELS BUT NOT MINE APPARENTLY. THE HOOD LATCH ISSUE, MY HOOD SHAKES UNCONTROLLABLY WHILE DRIVING OVER 65 MILES AN HOUR. YOU CAN VISIBLY SEE THE HOOD SHAKING IT IS LOUD AND IT IS VERY SCARY THINKING THE HOOD MIGHT BLOW OFF THE CAR
LOSS POWER WHILE DRIVING , RADIO SHUT DOWN ABOUT ONE MINUTE LATE POWER BACK ON , BUT CLOCK SET TO 1AM ALL THE RADIO STATION YOU STORED WAS GONE , EVERYTHING NEED TO RE-SET
THE CAR HAD BEEN PARKED 6:30 P.M. IN PRIVATE DRIVEWAY. AT 2:20 A.M. I WAS ALERTED BY MY NEIGHBOR . HE HAD SEEN THROUGH THE WOODS A FIRE, CALLED THE FIRE DEPT. HE THOUGHT OUR HOUSE WAS ON FIRE AND RAN OVER TO SEE IF WE WERE OK. IT WAS NOT OUR HOUSE BUT OUR 2015 NISSAN ROGUE.WHEN HE WOKE US THE CAR WAS TOTALLY ENGULFED IN FLAMES. THE FIRE DEPT ARRIVED MINUTES LATER AND IT TOOK AWHILE TO PUT THE FIRE TOTALLY OUT. NOTHING REMAINS OF THE CAR EXCEPT THE FRAMING. I HAD PURCHASED THIS CAR SIX MONTHS EARLIER WITH 20,000 MILES. IT HAD JUST TURNED 30,000 MILES. THERE WAS NO SIGN ANYTHING WAS AMISS, NO WARNING LIGHTS, ODD SOUNDS, NOTHING. WE LIVE IN A RURAL AREA, WOODED MILES OFF THE MAIN ROAD SO I DO NOT SUSPECT THIS WAS DONE BY HUMAN HANDS. I CAN ONLY IMAGE THIS WAS SOME SORT OF ELECTRICAL SHORT THAT WAS SLOWLY SIMMERING FOR HOURS. THE CAR HAD ONLY BEEN DRIVEN HOME (20 MILE TRIP) AND PARKED. THE FIRE OCCURRED 8 HOURS LATER. THERE WAS NOTHING FLAMMABLE AROUND THE CAR. I FULLY BELIEVE THE CAR SELF IGNITED DURING THE EVE. I CALLED NISSAN TO REPORT THIS BEFORE I EVEN CALLED MY INSURANCE AGENT. I ASKED FOR AN INVESTIGATION. IF THIS CAR HAD BEEN PARKED IN THE GARAGE I COULD HAVE ALSO LOST MY HOME AND MY FAMILY. I DOUBT THIS IS AN ISOLATED INCIDENT, AND I FEAR OTHERS MY NOT BE SO FORTUNATE AS TO LOOSE ONLY THE CAR AND NO OTHER DAMAGES. THE CAR HAS BEEN TAKEN AWAY AND IS TO BE INVESTIGATED MARCH 23,2018. *TT
THERE IS SOMETHING DESPERATELY WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION/POWER IN MY VEHICLE. I LOSE POWER WHEN GOING UP HILLS, ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY ARE CONTINUAL, LIKE UP A MOUNTAIN PASS! THERE IS A SUPER HIGH PITCHED NOISE WHEN THE CAR RUNS FOR OVER AN HOUR, LIKE SQUEALING. TOLD THERE IS NO PROBLEM AT NISSAN DEALERSHIP, THIS IS NOT TRUE. THE NOISE HAPPENS IN EVERY GEAR WHEN IT STARTS AND DOESN'T STOP UNTIL THE CAR COOLS AGAIN. THE POWER IN VEHICLE THAT IS LOST UP HILLS, WILL KEEP IT FROM EVER GOING ABOVE 60 UNTIL SEVERAL HOURS LATER. THE POWER IS LOST IN THE WHOLE VEHICLE, IT LAGS AND SOMETIMES NOTHING HAPPENS DURING THIS POWER LOSS WHEN PUSHING THE GAS PEDAL. THE LOSS OF POWER IS SO MUCH THAT IT CAN'T CONTINUE TO GO UP HILLS SOMETIMES AND I'VE HAD TO PULL OVER! VERY SCARY ON A MOUNTAIN PASS!
RECALL 16V-244 MALFUNCTION OF OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT: SYSTEM DOES NOT RECOGNIZE ADULT IN PASSENGER SEAT. NISSAN "FIXED" THIS SYSTEM IN 2016. IT MAY HAVE BEEN WORKING PROPERLY BEFORE THEIR "FIX". IT IS NOW NOT WORKING AND HAS NOT BEEN WORKING PROPERLY FOR QUITE A WHILE AND NISSAN NORTH AMERICA WILL NOT "FIX" IT AGAIN, AS THEY EXPECT ME TO PAY THE DIAGNOSTIC FEE AT A MINIMUM. I WILL NOT AGREE TO THAT. THEY NEED TO CONDUCT THE DIAGNOSIS AT THEIR COST AND FIX THE RECALL AGAIN. THIS ACTION BY NISSAN NORTH AMERICA SMELLS LIKE A SCAM. WHAT SHOULD I DO? DURING A COLD SEASON, THERE WAS FOG AND ICE ON THE WINDSHIELD AND I TURNED ON THE DEFROSTER TO CLEAR IT. THE HEATING FUNCTION OF THE DEFROSTER FAILED, AND I COULD NOT CLEAR THE WINDSHIELD OR KEEP IT CLEAR AS I DROVE.

THERE IS A RECALL ON THE NISSAN ROUGE 2015 ON NISSAN RECALL PAGE RELATING TO REPROGRAMMNG OF CVT TRANSMISSION FROM 8TH OF DECEMBER 2016 BUT THIS ISN'T ON YOUR PAGE. MY TRANSMISSION WENT AND WAS TOLD IT IS OVER THE MILEAGE WARRANTY AND WHEN ASKED WAS THEIR A RECALL ON MY VEHICLE WAS TOLD EMPHATICALLY NO HOWEVER ON INVESTIGATION THERE IS TWO RECALLS. WHEN I LATER CONTACTED THEM WITH THIS INFORMATION THEY SAID THEY SENT OUT A LETTER. I GOT NO LETTER AND WHEN I SAID SEND THE LETTER TO MY EMAIL ACCOUNT THE EMPLOYEE STATED HE HAD NO ACCESS TO THIS INFORMATION SO HOW CAN HE SAY A LETTER WAS SENT OUT. NISSAN ARE CONTINUALLY PUTTING THESE CVT TRANSMISSIONS INTO CARS FOR YEARS KNOWING THEY ARE NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE AND THERE IS NO FIX FOR THEM. YOU JUST NEED TO GOOGLE NISSAN CVT TRANSMISSION FAILURE TO SEE THE DEVASTATION THEY ARE INFLICTING ON PEOPLE
I WAS DRIVING TO WORK ON INTERSTATE 20, AND ALL OF A SUDDEN I HEARD A LOUD SOUND LIKE A GUNSHOT, AND I HEAR GLASS SHATTERING. AS I IMMEDIATELY PRESSED ON MY BRAKES TO SLOW DOWN, I NOTICED VEHICLES BEHIND ME SLOWING DOWN DUE TO GLASS FLYING IN THEIR DIRECTION. MY HEART WAS RACING AND I WAS SO SCARED AND UNCERTAIN OF WHAT REALLY OCCURRED. I IMMEDIATELY FELT COLD AIR IN MY VEHICLE AS IF I HAD DOWNED A WINDOW. I PULLED OVER AND CALLED MY INSURANCE COMPANY.
DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AND AFTER ABOUT 2 HOURS, CAR LOSES SPEED IN MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC PRESSING GAS BUT CAR RESPONDS LIKE IT WOULD HITTING THE GAS IN NEUTRAL. HAD TO COAST OFF TO A GAS STATION. UPON SEARCHING THE INTERNET FOUNF THE PROBLEM IS VERY COMMON AND A SENSOR MALFUNCTIONING SHUTS THE CVT. IT ADVISED WAIT 5 MINUTES AND IT WOULD RESET. DID THAT AND WAS ABLE TO GO ON. WAS VERY SCARY IN TRAFFIC WITH CARS ON ALL SIDES OF ME
THE HEATER DOES NOT WORK ON THE COLDEST DAYS. DRIVER IS UNABLE TO ADEQUATELY DEFROST WINDSHIELD AND MAINTAIN A REASONABLE TEMPERATURE IN THE CABIN.
CSPC: WHILE ATTEMPTING TO REPAIR A FLAT TIRE BY REPLACING THE TIRE WITH THE FACTORY SPARE. THE FACTORY PROVIDED SCISSOR JACKS FAILED AND BENT ALLOWING THE CAR TO FALL. *DT THE CONSUMER STATED THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. *JS
MY ROOF RACK ON MY 2015 NISSAN ROGUE IS FALLING APART. WENT TO A FORUM AND FOUND A LOT OF COMPLAINTS. IT IS ONLY THREE YEARS OLD THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING.
I JUST RECEIVED A POST CARD STATING THAT THERE HAS BEEN A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT ALLEGING THAT NISSAN SOLD VEHICLES THAT CONTAIN DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS MADE BY TAKATA CORP. SO I HAVE UNTIL JAN 8TH, 2018 TO MAKE REPORT. WELL, DUE TO THE FACT THAT I AM FROM A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION AND WE BOUGHT A 2015 NISSAN ROGUE AND STILL OWN IT, I NEED TO GET IT INTO A DEALERSHIP AND HAVE THIS RECALL FIXED. STRUT/SHOCK NOISE COMES IN FROM RIGHT FRONT SUSPENSION AREA
This vehicle will fail to accelerate after stopping at stop sign/ red light or in stop/ go traffic. if i hit the gas pedal it won't actually move for seconds and then it will jolt forward. This becomes very dangerous and scary when pulling out onto busy roads. The RPM will start going up while driving for no reason and the car is not actually accelerating. this will happen while driving down the road randomly and the only thing i can do is pull over and shut car off for a minute. i have brough to dealership (a few years ago but they cannot recreate it so i have no options) this has been happening for several years at all different times and always randomly
I WAS DRIVING IN SNOWY CONDITIONS AND VEHICLE BEGAN BAULKING AS IF IT WAS GOING TO STALL. A CHASSIS SYSTEM CONTROL WARNING DISPLAYED ON TH DASH. I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY ADVISED IT WAS DUE TO THE SLIPPERY ROAD CONDITIONS. THEY ADVISED TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND BACK ON AND THE WARNING WOULD DISAPPEAR/RESET. I DID THIS AND THE WARNING WAS REMOVED HOWEVER, BRIEF MOMENTS OF RANDOM "BAULKING" CONTINUED. A FEW DAYS LATER I WAS TRAVELLING ON A MULTI LANE HIGHWAY IN A SNOW STORM. THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SEVERELY "BAULK" AND THEN THE VEHICLE STALLED COMPLETELY. I WAS TRAVELING VERY SLOWLY DUE TO THE ROAD CONDITIONS AND THE STALL WAS SO SUDDEN, THERE WAS NOT ENOUGH MOMENTUM TO GET PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I TRIED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. IT WOULD START FOR 2-3 SECONDS AND STALL AGAIN. I WAS STRANDED, WITH MY CHILDREN, PARTIALLY IN A LIVE LANE OF TRAFFIC, ON A BUSY HIGHWAY, IN A SNOW STORM. I KEPT TRYING TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AND AFTER APPROXIMATELY 20MIN IT STARTED AGAIN. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE ABOUT 5 -10KM BEFORE THE VEHICLE STALLED AGAIN. I WANTED TO REPORT THIS ISSUE AS I FOUND A RECALL FOR 2014 AND OLDER NISSAN ROGUE FOR THE SAME ISSUE THAT WAS IDENTIFIED AS A FUEL PUMP ISSUE. NISSAN REPORTED THE ISSUE HAD BEEN CORRECTED FORMROGUE'S MANUFACTURED AFTER JUNE 2014. MY VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED FEB 2015. THIS IS NOT ONLY A RECALL ISSUE, IT IS A SERIOUS OCCUPANT SAFETY CONCERN.
I WAS DRIVING AND MY SUNROOF EXPLODED SPONTANEOUSLY. BRIDGEWATER NISSAN AND NISSAN COOPERATION SAID IT WAS DUE TO IMPACT, EVEN THOUGH THEY COULD NOT PROVE IT. I HAD TO REPORT IT TO MY INSURANCE TO COVER THE DAMAGES. NISSAN COULD NOT EVEN SUPPORT A VALUABLE CUSTOMER AND PAY FOR MY DEDUCTIBLE.
AIRBAG ERROR LIGHT ISSUE, RECALLS DON'T COVER MY VIN NUMBER EVEN THOUGH THERE IS A PROBLEM.
I HAVE BRIDGESTONE ECOPIA H/L 422 PLUS TIRES (RUN FLAT) ON MY 2015 NISSAN ROGUE. AT 21,696 MILES ALL 4 TIRES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO EXCESSIVE WEAR. BECAUSE THIS SEEMED ODD, I CALLED BRIDGESTONE AND THE TIRES ARE NOT UNDER WARRANTY BECAUSE THEY ARE MADE SPECIFICALLY FOR NISSAN. NISSAN DOES NOT GUARANTEE THE TIRES. IT SEEMS THAT TIRES THAT ARE JUST OVER 2 YEARS OLD AND UNDER 23,000 MILES SHOULD HAVE MORE LIFE. IT IS DANGEROUS FOR MY FAMILY AND I WOULD HAVE NEVER AGREED TO LEASE A CAR THAT HAD TIRES THAT WERE UNSAFE AT SUCH LOW MILAGE.
I BOUGHT THIS 2015 NISSAN ROGUE SL BRAND NEW, WITH THE PLASTIC STILL ON IT. SINCE I'VE OWNED IT I HAVE HAD NOTHING EXCEPT PROBLEMS WITH THE DRIVERS SEAT. NAMELY THE FRAME OF THE SEAT HAS BEEN REPLACED 2 TIMES. THE PLASTIC COVERING ON THE SIDE OF THE SEAT WITH THE POWER SEAT CONTROLS HAS BEEN REPLACED 3 TIMES. THE LATEST THIS PAST WEEK. THEN THE CHROME MOLDING ON TOP OF THE DRIVERS DOOR KEEPS COMING OFF AND HAS BEEN REPLACED 3 TIMES. THEN BACK TO THE SEAT ISSUE. I MIGHT ADD THAT THE PLASTIC PART OF AT THE BOTTON OF THE PASSENGER SEAT ON THE SIDE IS NOW NEEDING REPLACED. AS FAR AS THE DRIVERS SEAT GOES, WHEN ACCELERATING OR STOPPING, IT CLICKS. SO I EXPECT THAT THE FRAME WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED AGAIN SOON. THE ONLY PROBLEM WITH THIS IS THAT THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THE CAR WAS BOUGHT IS GETTING TIRED OF FIXING THIS STUFF. THEY HAVE TOLD ME THAT THEY ARE NOT SURE HOW MANY MORE TIMES NISSAN WILL WARRANTY THIS STUFF OUT. WE SHALL SEE. WITH ALL MY ISSUES, I AM NOT SO SURE I WANT TO KEEP THIS ROGUE SL FOR THE DURATION OF THE LOAN. LET ALONE PURCHASE ANOTHER NISSAN VEHICLE.
TAKATA RECALL GOT NOTIFICATION IN MAIL
I WAS DRIVING BACK HOME FROM FROM THE STORE MY TWO YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WAS IN THE BACK SEAT IN THE CAR SEAT PROPERLY STRAPPED. THE DRIVE IS ABOUT A TEN MINUTE DRIVE BACK TO OUR HOME. AS I WAS DRIVING I NOTICED MY DAUGHTER HIT VERY QUITE WHEN I️ TURNED AROUND SHE HAD WRAPPED THE ADULT SHOULDER SEAT BELT STRAP AROUND HER NECK THREE TIMES AND WAS STARTING TO CHOKE. CURRENTLY I AM NINE MONTHS PREGNANT AS HAD TO UNTANGLE HER WHILE I WAS DRIVING TO KEEP HER FROM CHOKING. THIS ISSUE IS OF EXTREME CONCERN TO ME AND MY FAMILY AS SHE IS TWO YEARS OLD AND I HAVE THE PROPER CAR SEAT FOR HER AND I FOUND SHE HAD WRAPPED THE SEAT BELT AROUND HER NECK THREE TIMES IN A MATTER OF SECONDS THIS COULD EASILY HAVE LEAD TO SEVERE TRAUMA AND DEATH LET ME KNOW WHAT DOCUMENTATION YOU NEED TO BEGIN AN INVESTIGATION ON THIS I HAVE THE CAR SEAT MODEL AND ANOTHER VEHICLE THAT I USE THE SAME MODEL CAR SEAT WITH AND MY DAUGHTER CABRERA EVEN REACH THE ADULT SEAT BELT PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT STEPS NEED TO OCCUR TO GET THIS ISSUE RESOLVED BY NISSAN. WHILE MAKING A TURN THE CAR STALLED AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. I PRESSED ON THE GAS AND THE CAR WOULD BARELY MOVE. I WAS ABLE TO GET IT OFF THE ROAD. I THEN PARKED AND TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF. I WAITED A MINUTE OR SO BEFORE STARTING IT. I DID TRY TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN DRIVE AND ATTEMPT TO DRIVE WITH THE SAME ISSUE. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK WHILE LETTING THE ENGINE RUN. WAITED ANOTHER 5 MINUTES AND ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AGAIN. THIS TIME I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE, HOWEVER I AM CONCERNED THERE IS AN ISSUE. I NO LONGER FEEL SAFE WHILE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE. THIS HAPPENED IN A MAJOR INTERSECTION
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN ROGUE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD NOISE AND THE SUN ROOF EXPLODED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE GLASS OF THE SUN ROOF FRACTURED COMPLETELY AND SLID DOWN THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ROAD AND EXITED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BOMMARITO NISSAN IN HAZELWOOD, MISSOURI, BUT THE SOURCE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND STATED THAT THE MATTER WOULD BE ESCALATED TO A REGIONAL REPRESENTATIVE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
THIS IS NOT A FAILURE AT THIS TIME BUT MORE OF A SAFETY CONCERN. THE WINDSHIELD OF OUR ROGUE 'CONCAVE' IS THE AREA AROUND THE REARVIEW MIRROR (THIS CAN BE SEEN IN THE ATTACHED PHOTO - NOTE THE DISTORTION OF THE REFLECTED IMAGE OF THE TREES WITHIN BLUE CIRCLE). AFTER DRIVING IN CITY TRAFFIC ALL DAY THE ROGUE WOULD NOT MOVE AS I WAS HEADING HOME FOR THE DAY. I BOUGHT THE ROGUE NEW IN 2015 AND IN OCTOBER 2016 THIS HAPPENED. TOOK TO A DEALERSHIP AND WORK WAS DONE. CAR OK UNTIL: SEPTEMBER 2017 THE ROGUE WAS SHIFTING LATE AND NOT DOWN SHIFTING GOING DOWNHILL. TOOK IT BACK TO DEALERSHIP. NISSAN SAID JUST TO DRAIN SOME OF THE TRANSMISSION FLUID AND PUT IN NEW TRANSMISSION FLUID.
VIBRATION ON DRIVER SIDE. FIRST TIME AT 45 MPH ON HIGHWAY. SECOND TIME WHILE AT A DRIVE THROUGH PHARMACY AND ENTIRE CAR SHOOK, SEATS VIBRATED SO HARD I THOUGHT THEY WERE GOING TO TAKE OFF INTO SPACE AT ANY SECOND. EVERY YEAR, NEW MODELS BRING LESS FRONT AND REAR ACCIDENT IMPACT PROTECTION. IT IS A GOOD DEAL FOR MANUFACTURERS AND INSURANCE COMPANIES, BUT NOT FOR CUSTOMERS. ON JANUARY 2017, I SUFFERED AN ACCIDENT WHERE MY FRONT "BUMPER" NEEDED TO BE FIXED, BUT MY DEALERSHIP CHARGED ME FOR ABOUT $5,500.00TO REPLACE A "PROTECTIVE PLASTIC SHIELDING" AND THE COMPRESSOR. ORIGINAL RECALL PERFORMED BY LOCAL DEALERSHIP DID NOT REPAIR THE PROBLEM. NHTSA RECALL 16V-244, OCS PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT STAYS ON AFTER PASSENGER SEAT IS OCCUPIED. THIS IS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM. IT USUALLY OCCURS WHEN PASSENGER SITS ON SEAT AFTER CAR IS STARTED. I HAD IT TO THE DEALERSHIP SIX TIMES IN THE FIRST YEAR AFTER THE RECALL. I BRING IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP TWICE ANNUALLY FOR INSPECTION AND OIL CHANGES. THEY ASK IF THERE IS ANYTHING ELSE AND I TELL THEM THE PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT STILL STAYS ON. I'LL PICK UP VEHICLE LATER AND THEY SAY NO TROUBLE FOUND. I HAVE VIDEOS (THAT'S PLURAL) OF MY WIFE SITTING IN THE SEAT WITH THE LIGHT ON AND US DRIVING. I CAN SEND THOSE IF YOU WANT THEM. THE LAST TIME I HAD IT FOR SERVICE THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN DRIVE STRAIGHT UP TO DEALERSHIP. UHH, MY WIFE WOULD BE UNPROTECTED. WHEN IT DOES OCCUR, I PULL THE VEHICLE OVER, SHUT OFF AND START UP.
WHEN THE TEMPERATURE IS OVER 90 DEGREES AND THE CAR HAS BEEN RUNNING FOR AT LEAST 10 MINUTES THE CAR HAS ACCELERATION ISSUES. WHEN AT A FULL STANDSTILL SUCH AS AT A STOPLIGHT THE CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE QUICKLY AND RESPOND TO PEDAL PRESSURE. WHEN THE PEDAL IS FLOORED AND TRYING TO START AGAIN IT HAS A LONG DELAY LIKE THE TRANSMISSION IS IN A HIGH GEAR OR IS OVERHEATED. I KNOW THERE HAVE BEEN MANY ISSUES ONLINE ABOUT THE CVT OF THE ROGUE. THIS ONLY SEEMS TO HAPPEN WHEN IT IS HOT OUT. THERE ARE ALSO ISSUES WHEN GOING UP AN INCLINE IN HOT TEMPERATURE THE CAR DOES NOT RESPOND TO PEDAL PRESSURE AND ACCELERATION. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE IN THAT WHEN TRYING TO TURN LEFT AT A LIGHT I EXPECT MY CAR TO GO AND NOT STUTTER AND THERE HAVE BEEN MANY CLOSE CALLS TO BEING BROADSIDED.

ROUGE HAD RECALL WORK ON AIRBAG SENSOR DONE IN 2016. HOWEVER OVER THE PAST MONTH OR SO, THE OFF INDICATOR FOR THE PASSENGER AIRBAG HAS BEEN LIT WHEN A PASSENGER OF 130 LBS HAS BEEN IN THE SET AT LEAST 4 DIFFERENT TIMES. ONCE THE OFF INDICATOR LIGHT WENT OFF AFTER 1/4 MILE OF DRIVING. THE OTHER TIMES, I HAD TO STOP THE VEHICLE AFTER DRIVING FOR LONGER DISTANCES, TURN IT OFF AND RESTART TO GET THE OFF INDICATOR TO GO OFF. ONCE THE PASSENGER HAD TO GET OUT OF VEHICLE WHILE I TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND RESTARTED IN ORDER FOR LIGHT TO GO OFF WHEN THEY SAT BACK DOWN. TOOK TO NISSAN DEALER AND THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM SO THEY RELEASED THE VEHICLE. I DO NOT TRUST THE AIRBAG TO DEPLOY WHEN NEEDED SO I AM LOOKING TO TRADE THE VEHICLE IN ORDER TO PROTECT MY PASSENGER.....WHICH DOES NOTHING TO PROTECT ANYONE IN THE FUTURE WHO RIDES IN THIS VEHICLE. I AM NOT SURE OF WHAT THE AIRBAG RECALL LAST YEAR ACCOMPLISHED OR WHY NISSAN IS IGNORING THE COMPLAINTS SINCE THE RECALL WHEN THE RECALL STATED THE OCS SENSOR MAY BE FAULTY ON 3.2 MILLION VEHICLES. EVIDENTLY THE OCS SENSOR IS STILL FAULTY BUT THE DEALER EXPECTS ME TO DRIVE IT LIKE THIS.
ISSUE WITH THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT ON A 2015 NISSAN ROGUE. THE ISSUE IS THAT A FULL-SIZE ADULT (150 AND 240 POUNDS) CAN BE IN THE SEAT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG INDICATOR INDICATES THE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG IS OFF. THERE IS NO AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT ON THE DASH. I'VE TAKEN IT TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES AND THE COMPUTER AND AIRBAG SYSTEM HAS BEEN FLASHED, BUT DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. SINCE THEN THE DEALSHIP HAS PUSHED ME OFF, EVEN WITH PHOTOS AND EVIDENCE OF THIS HAPPENING. I HAVE THREATEN THEM WITH A LAWSUIT BECAUSE THEY WILL NOT LOOK FURTHER IN TO IT, IF THE AIRBAG DOES NOT DEPLOY WHEN A FULL-SIZE ADULT IS IN THE SEAT. I WILL BE TAKING THE VEHICLE TO A DIFFERENT DEALERSHIP THIS WEEK, BECAUSE THIS ISSUE IS CONTINUE TO HAPPEN. I AM CURRENTLY AN PURSUING AN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING DEGREE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH CAROLINA AND WILL CONTINUE TO USE THEIR RESOURCES TO I FIND SOMEONE WHO WILL RESOLVE THE ISSUE. THE ONLY RESOLUTION FOR THIS ISSUE, WHEN IT HAPPENS, IS TO PARK THE CAR AND TURN IT OFF, LET IT SIT, AND TURN THE CAR BACK ON TO SEE IF THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON OR NOT. THE CAR HAS CURRENTLY 43,068 MILES AND IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. ALSO ALL RECALLS AND MAINTENANCE IS COMPLETED AT A NISSAN DEALERSHIP. I WAS DRIVING SOUTH ON MILITARY TRAIL PREPARING TO TURN RIGHT AT PIPERS GLEN. THE LIGHT WAS GREEN AND THERE WAS A WHITE CAR IN THE MIDDLE LANE WAITING TO ENTER MILITARY. I SLOWED DOWN TO MAKE MY TURN AND SUDDENLY MY CAR ACCELERATED. IF I CONTINUED TO TURN THERE WAS NO DOUBT I WOULD HAVE HIT THE WAITING CAR. I PROCEEDED STRAIGHT, PASSED THIS CAR AND DROVE ONTO A GRASSY AREA. MY FRONT WHEEL HIT THE CURB WHICH SLOWED MY CAR BUT PUSHED ME ALONG THE SIDE OF THE WHITE CAR CAUSING DAMAGE TO BOTH CARS. THE FIRE TRUCKS CAME AND A POLICE CAR. SINCE NO ONE WAS HURT I WAS INSTRUCTED TO LEAVE MY CAR THERE TO BE TOWED . MY SON PICKED ME UP AND I CALLED THE TOWING CO. ABOUT 1 HOUR LATER I WAS CALLED AND TOLD THE TOW WAS ON THE WAY. WHEN WE ARRIVED TO WHERE MY CAR WAS I WAS SURPRISED TO SEE THE FRONT LIGHTS ON. THERE WAS A MOTOR NOISE AND THE HOOD WAS HOT . WHENWE LEFT THE CAR THERE IT WAS LOCKED AND THE MOTOR WAS NOT ON. IF THIS WERE NOT THE CASE I WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO LOCK THIS CAR HAVING A KEYLESS ENTRY. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT EVER DRIVING THIS CAR WITH LESS THAN 10,000 MILES. I CALLED BOTH NISSAN AND THE REPAIR COMPANY AND REPORTED WHAT HAPPENED. THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD SCAN THE CAR BUT SOMETIMES NOTHING SHOWS UP. I USE MILITARY TRAIL ALMOST EVERY DAY AND PIPERS GLEN LEADS TO MY HOME. WE TOOK OUR VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP ON MARCH 3 2017 TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. WE WERE TOLD NISSAN IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND SUGGESTS TO LATCH THE BELT BEFORE STARTING THE VEHICLE. IF THE LIGHT COMES ON, RESTART THE VEHICLE TO TURN THE LIGHT OUT. NISSAN SAYS NO NEW CORRECTION AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAID NISSAN PROBABLY WILL NOT DO ANYTHING UNTIL THERE IS A SERIOUS ACCIDENT OR DEATH. THE SERVICE WRITER ALSO SAID THE PROBLEM IS IN THE LIGHT AND THAT THE AIR BAG WILL DEPLOY. WHY SHOULD CONSUMERS HAVE TO INITIATE A QUICK FIX BY BUCKLING SEAT BELTS BEFORE STARTING AND HAVING TO RESTART IF THE LIGHT DOES NOT GO OUT. HOW ARE CONSUMERS TO BELIEVE THAT MAYBE THE AIR BAG WILL DEPLOY. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS SITUATION THAT NISSAN SEEMS UNWILLING TO RESOLVE LONG TURN.
THE CAR HAS A KEYLESS OPERATION. AFTER SERVICE AN REPROGRAMMING FOR A CVT ISSUE, THE ENGINE FAILED TO START AFTER SITTING IN THE GARAGE OVERNIGHT. IN ORDER TO START, THE BRAKE MUST BE ENGAGED BEFORE PUSHING THE START BUTTON. THIS DID NOT WORK AND THE START ENGINE LIGHT DID NOT COME ON. PUSHING THE START BUTTON RESULTED IN CLICKING NOISE BUT THE SOLENOID (IF THIS CAR HAS ONE) DID NOT ENGAGE. AFTER TRYING SEVERAL TIMES AND TURNING LIGHTS ON AND OFF, THE CAR STARTS. I AM CONCERNED THAT THE IGNITION WOULD DISENGAGE WHILE DRIVING. ONCE THE VEHICLE STARTED, IT DID NOT SHUT OFF UNTIL I TURNED IT OFF; BUT I HAVEN'T TESTED DRIVING IT. THE CAR NEVER DID THIS UNTIL THE COMPUTER REPROGRAMMING DONE THIS PAST THURSDAY FEBRUARY 24TH WHEN I HAD THE CAR SERVICE BEFORE LEAVING ON A TRIP.

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 19,000.
