TAKATA RECALL, SEEN ON WWW. CARS. COM THAT AIRBAGS ON PASSENGER SIDE ARE REVEALED BUT NISSAN SAID ITS NOT STEERING, YOU HAVE TO CONSTANTLY FIGHT WITH THE STEERING TO KEEP CAR ON ROAD
YESTERDAY, WHILST DRIVING AT 30 MPH THE FORWARD EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM ACTIVATED. NO CARS, PEDESTRIANS OR OBJECTS WERE IN FRONT OF VEHICLE. ROAD WAS LEVEL AND CAR TRAVELING STRAIGHT. DISPLAY IN CENTRE OF DASH INDICATED " MALFUNCTION" CAR PULLED TO SIDE OF ROAD, SHUT DOWN AND RESTARTED. NO OTHER SIGNS OF PROBLEMS. NO OBJECTS OF ANY SORT WERE IN FRONT OF VEHICLE.
ON OCTOBER 11, 2017, THE VEHICLE'S 'INTELLIGENT SAFETY SHIELD' FEATURE CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO UNEXPECTEDLY BRAKE WHILE MOVING AT APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH ON THE INTERSTATE 10 FREEWAY. THIS MALFUNCTION NEARLY CAUSED A SERIOUS ACCIDENT WHICH COULD HAVE RESULTED IN SERIOUS INJURIES. WE IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED THE NISSAN DEALER AND THEY DID HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENT FOR INSPECTION. THEY HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE FOR APPROXIMATELY 1 WEEK AND ARE NOW CONTACTING US REQUESTING THAT WE PICK UP THE VEHICLE, DESPITE THE FACT THAT THEY HAVE NOT REPAIRED THE VEHICLE OR EVEN KNOW 'EXACTLY WHAT THE PROBLEM IS' IN THEIR OWN WORDS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 NISSAN ROGUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING AND WAS UNABLE TO RESTART ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO FRED BEANS NISSAN OF DOYLESTOWN (4469 W SWAMP RD, DOYLESTOWN, PA 18902, (215) 345-6900) SEVERAL TIMES, BUT THE DEALER COULD NOT DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FAILURE HAD BEEN OCCURRING SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALER AWAITING DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000.
MY GAS GAUGE IS SHOWING FULL AFTER FILL UP BUT NOW IS NOT MOVEING AND SAYS I STILL HAVE A FULL TANK AND THATS NOT POSSIBLE WITH 203 MILES TO EMPTY WHEN NORMALY WHEN I FILL UP ITS OVER 440 MILES TO EMPTY
VEHICLE HAS TWO ISSUES, SEEMS TO BE TEMPERATURE RELATED. WHEN THE TEMPERATURE DROPS BELOW 35 DEGREES, THE YELLOW LIGHT INDICATING THAT IMMEDIATE BRAKING IS REQUIRED, IS ENGAGED AND BLINKING WHEN VEHICLE IS TURNED ON.(WHILE PARKED OR DRIVING) LIGHT STAYS ON, WHILE DRIVING, EVEN THOUGH THERE ARE NO OBSTRUCTIONS IN THE ROAD OR VEHICLES' CAMERAS.IT GOES OFF, AFTER DRIVING FOR APPROX 5-10 MINUTES. WHEN THE TEMPERATURE IS ABOVE FREEZING (WARMER MONTHS) A HARD BRAKE WILL CAUSE THE CENTER CONSOLE DISPLAY AND THE FUNCTIONALITY OF HANDS-FREE CELL USE, TO TURN OFF. AFTER A FEW SECONDS, THE DISPLAY RESETS AND TURNS ON (REBOOTS) ON IT'S OWN. IF SPEAKING TO SOMEONE VIA HANDS FREE, WHEN TURNOFF OCCURS, IT WILL AUTOMATICALLY RECONNECT CALL, AFTER REBOOT. (IF CALLER STAYS ON THE LINE) THE VEHICLE'S DASHBOARD HAS DISPLAYED ALL WARNING LIGHTS AND SOUNDED ALL AUDIBLE ALARMS, SEVERAL TIMES, WHILE DRIVING UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS (BOTH STREET AND HIGHWAY DRIVING). WHILE THESE SITUATIONS ARE UNNERVING AND ANNOYING, THEY DID NOT SEEM TO AFFECT THE ACTUAL HANDLING OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE REMAINS UNDER POWER AND IN GEAR. CONCERNED THAT ONE OF THESE EVENTS MAY ACTUALLY TRIGGER THE BRAKE OR CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO TURN OFF, WHILE UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS. OR, NOT WORK, WHEN THEY ARE ACTUALLY REQUIRED..VEHICLE HAS BEEN BACK TO DEALER, FOR THESE SPECIFIC ISSUES, SEVERAL TIMES. AFTER REPLACING CONSOLE AND DOING COMPUTER UPDATES, VEHICLE IS RELEASED AS "FIXED". VEHICLE IS STILL EXPERIENCING THESE ISSUES. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE THE CAR WAS RECEIVED (NEW FROM THE NISSAN DEALER) UP TO THE PRESENT TIME.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 NISSAN ROGUE. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED WITH THE ENGINE TURNED ON, THE TRANSMISSION ERRONEOUSLY SWITCHED TO REVERSE AND THE VEHICLE MOVED BACKWARDS. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HALL NISSAN IN CHESAPEAKE, VA, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 400.
AIR BAG RECALL ON MY TRUCK, I DONT WANT TO USE IT UNTIL IT GETS REPAIRED OR I GET ANOTHER NISSIAN
VERY POOR LIGHTING WHEN USING LOW BEAMS. MAKES DRIVING IN WINTER OR RAINY CONDITIONS DIFFICULT. ALSO NO LIGHT TO SIDES OF VEHICLE IN LOW BEAM MODE MAKES SHARP TURNS ON DARK ROADS ALMOST BLIND. I ALMOST HIT PEDESTRIAN THAT I COULDN'T SEE UNTIL I TURNED TOWARD HIM. DEALER HAS CHECKED VEHICLE AND REPORTED LIGHTS WERE WORKING CORRECTLY
THIS VEH. HAS FORWARD EMERGENCY BRAKING WHICH NEVER WORKS AS ADVERTISED AND PRESENTED BY NISSAN. A CRASH WILL RESULT EVERY TIME IF YOU FAIL TO BRAKE. DEALER SAYS SYSTEM IS ALIGNED AND THERE ARE NO CODES, BUT IT SIMPLY DOESN'T WORK. I TEST DROVE A SECOND NEW VEH. JUST LIKE MINE, IT FAILED TO WORK TOO. THE NISSAN VIDEO ON FEB SHOWS TWO INDEPENDENT WARNINGS ALONG WITH BRAKING INTERVENTION IF NECESSARY TO PREVENT A COLLISION. WELL, THIS JUST NEVER OCCURS. IT SIMPLY DOES NOT WORK. I'M SURE THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF UNSUSPECTING FOLKS DRIVING THIS VEH. UNDER A FALSE SENSE OF SECURITY. NISSAN WILL NOT ADMIT TO A PROBLEM WITH THIS SYSTEM. I HAVE READ ONLINE THREADS OF OTHERS MAKING THE SAME COMPLAINT I'M MAKING. THIS VEH. WARRANTS INDEPENDENT TESTING AS THIS SYSTEM RELATES TO SAFETY.
THE VEHICLE STARTED SHAKING/VIBRATING HEAVILY WHEN SITTING IN TRAFFIC ON A BUSY HIGHWAY JUST THREE WEEKS AFTER PURCHASE WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT GOING ON THE SAME DAY. IT CONTINUE TO HAVE THUMP/SHAKE/VIBRATION WHEN IDLING (PARKED OR STOP LIGHT) AND GOING AT REDUCED SPEEDS (ROLLING OFF THE GAS PEDAL WHEN PARKING OR IN HEAVY TRAFFIC) AFTER MULTIPLE VISITS TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE VIBRATION SEEMS TO BE ASSOCIATED WITH A CONTINUOUS SUDDEN DIP IN THE RPM AS IT DIPS AND GOES BACK TO TO WHERE IT WAS. THE DEALERSHIP HAS ADJUSTED THE RPM SETTINGS MULTIPLE TIMES AND THE ISSUE SHIFTS FROM VIBRATION TO THUMPING BUT DOES NOT DISAPPEAR, CLEARLY NOT RESOLVING THE ROOT CAUSE. CURRENTLY, I'VE OWNED THE VEHICLE FOR 3 MONTHS AND BELIEVE THERE WILL BE A RECALL FOR SOMETHING IN THE NEAR FUTURE AS A NEW CAR SHOULD NOT HAVE THESE SORT OF ISSUES OUT OF THE GATE. TIMELINE: PURCHASED: 8/7/2017 CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TURN ON: 8/31/17 1ST DEALERSHIP VISIT: 9/1 (FOUND DTC FOR P0300 BUT COULD NOT REPLICATE ISSUE AND CHANGED NOTHING) 2ND VISIT: 10/2: READJUSTED IDLE SPEED AS PER BULL # NTB15-048A 3RD VISIT: 10/21: INCREASED IDLE TO 670 VEHICLE NOW OPERATES WITH LESS POWER AND RPM STILL DIPS AND SURGES (LESS FREQUENTLY BUT STILL OCCURS) CONTACTED NISSAN FOR REPLACEMENT OR RE-PURCHASE AND WAS DENIED PER DEALERSHIP COMMENTS. THEY RECOMMENDED I TAKE TO A DIFFERENT DEALERSHIP 4TH VISIT: 10/28: COULD NOT REPLICATE, NO CHANGES MADE AT THIS POINT, I AM REACHING OUT TO YOU AND BBB. I BOUGHT THIS CAR WITH THE FULL INTENTION OF KEEPING FOR 10+ YEARS, BUT FEEL UNSAFE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING I LIVE IN THE NYC TRI STATE AREA AND TRAFFIC IS JUST A FACT OF LIFE.
ABS BRAKING SYSTEM GOES ON WHEN DRIVING CAR FOR NO APPARENT REASON. NO OTHER CARS OR OBSTACLES AROUND. THIS HAS HAPPENED 7 TIMES. SPEED USUALLY BETWEEN 30 /35 MPH. ALERT SIGNAL BEEPS FIRST . BRAKES RELEASE AFTER APPROXIMATELY 3 TO 4 SECONDS
DRIVER SEAT FEELING LIKE IS LOOSE. ALSO RATTLING
THE FRONT WINDSHIELD SPONTANEOUSLY EXPLODED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS CRUISING ON INTERSTATE 5 AROUND MARK 195 IN WASHINGTON STATE AROUND 11:30AM. THERE WAS A SMOOTH TRAFFIC WITH NO BIG TRUCKS AROUND AND NO FOREIGN OBJECTS FLYING OVER.
I HAVE A SHORT COMMUTE TO WORK DOWNTOWN WHERE I HAVE TO PARK IN A PARKING STRUCTURE. THIS FRIDAY MORNING THE CAR WAS DRIVING FINE UNTIL I PULLED INTO A PARKING SPACE. AS I TRIED TO SLOWDOWN THE VEHICLE INTO PARKING, THE CAR DID NOT STOP. I PUMPED ON THE BRAKE PEDAL TWICE BEFORE HITTING THE CONCRETE WALL ON THE 6TH FLOOR OF THE STRUCTURE. I AM CURRENTLY WAITING ON THE ESTIMATE FOR THE REPAIRS, BUT I NO LONGER FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE.
I EXPERIENCED MY CAR ACCELERATING WHEN NOT ON THE GAS. I WASN'T SURE IF IT WAS MY IMAGINATION BUT IT'S HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. I WENT OUT TO START MY CAR A FEW WEEKS AGO AND MY KEY WOULDN'T TURN. A RED KEY APPEARED IN THE DASHBOARD FLASHING. IT TOOK SEVERAL MINUTES BEFORE THE KEY EVENTUALLY TURNED. THIS ONLY LASTED A DAY. FAST FORWARD TO NOW MY CAR KEEPS STALLING. I TOOK IT BY AN AUTO ZONE, I WAS TOLD IT WAS MY ALTERNATOR. WELL I JUST PURCHASED THIS CAR NEW LAST YEAR. IT'S ONLY A YEAR OLD. THIS MORNING, IT GAVE ME THE SAME ISSUE. I GO TO TURN THE CAR ON DRIVE OUT THE LOT AND IT KEEPS STALLING. NO INDICATORS IN THE DASHBOARD ARE INDICATING ANYTHING IS WRONG. I'M AFRAID SOMETHING IS SERIOUSLY WRONG AND DO NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE DRIVING IT. I JUST DROPPED IT OFF AT THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED IT. PER THE STAFF, EVERYTHING IS NORMAL. I'M NOW AWAITING A DIAGNOSTIC CHECK.
TAKATA RECALL - I HAVE A NEW 2017 NISSAN ROGUE PURCHASED IN APRIL 2017. WHILE DRIVING IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD LESS THAN 25 MILES AN HOUR, MY DAUGHTER RUBBED THE CURB WITH THE BACK TIRE AND THE SIDE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. THERE IS NO BODY OR OTHER DAMAGE TO THE CAR AT ALL. NO ONE WAS SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT EITHER WHICH I THOUGHT WAS ODD. I WAS IN THE BACK SEAT OF THE CAR BECAUSE SHE CAME TO PICK ME UP BECAUSE I TWISTED MY ANKLE WHILE JOGGING AND CALLED HER TO COME GET ME. TWO VERY NICEPOLICE OFFICERS STOPPED TO HELP US CHANGE THE TIRE AND WERE SURPRISED THAT THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED WHEN THERE WASN'T ANY DAMAGE TO THE CAR. ONE OF THE OFFICERS RECOMMENDED I SUBMIT THIS FORM BECAUSE HE HAD HEARD OF AN ISSUE WITH THE TAKATA AIRBAGS DEPLOYING DUE TO AN INFLATER ISSUE. I HAD THE TIRE REPLACED BUT HAVE NOT FILED WITH MY INSURANCE COMPANY AS I DO NOT WANT MY PREMIUMS TO INCREASE. THE POLICE OFFICER TOLD ME IF I DECIDED TO CLAIM THIS ON MY INSURANCE I COULD GO ON LINE AND COMPLETE A GEORGIA SR13 FORM. I STILL HAVEN'T REPLACED THE AIRBAG, SEAT OR SEAT BELT AS I HAVE HEARD IT IS NOT CHEAP TO REPLACE. I CALLED NISSAN AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THE SEAT BELT ALONE WOULD COST $500.00. I HAVE HIT/RUBBED MANY CURBS IN MY LIFE AND HAVE NEVER HAD OR HEARD OF AN AIRBAG DEPLOYING, ESPECIALLY DRIVING LESS THAN 25 MILES PER HOUR. PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT ADDITIONAL INFORMATION YOU MAY NEED FROM ME FOR THIS COMPLAINT.
MY AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BREAKS WAS DEPLOYED TWICE, WHILE DRIVING 55-60 MPH ON THE FREEWAY...
2017 NISSAN ROGUE. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO TAKATA AIRBAG SAFETY RECALL. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A CRASH. THE AIRBAG DEPLOYED AND METAL FRAGMENTS PROPELLED FROM THE AIRBAG INTO THE DRIVER'S WRIST. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED AND DECLINED ANY ASSISTANCE. *JS *TR
I WAS DRIVING TO WORK AT 547 AM ON COGAN IN PALM BAY, FL WHEN I HEARD A LOUD BANG, IT WAS DARK OUT NO RAIN AND I IMMEDIATELY ATTEMPTED TO PULL OVER AND MY ENTIRE SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAGS AND PASSENGER SEAT AIRBAGS DEPLOYED ON THEIR OWN WITHOUT HITTING ANYTHING OR ANY SORT OF IMPACT. A POLICE OFFICER LUCKILY APPROACHED THE SEEN BEHIND ME AND I DO HAVE A CALL FOR SERVICE REPORT FROM PALM BAY POLICE DEPARTMENT STATING AIRBAGS DEPLOYED FOR UNKNOWN REASON. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED NISSAN DEALERSHIP IN MELBOURNE TO REPORT THIS AND THEY HAD MY VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. INITIALLY THE DEALERSHIP WAS VERY ACCUSATORY TRYING TO TELL ME THIS HAD NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE MAKING ME FEEL I HAD DONE SOMETHING WHEN INDEED I HAD NOT. A THIRD PARTY INVESTIGATOR WAS CALLED TO ASSESS THE BLACK BOX WHICH INDEED REVEALED THERE WAS NO IMPACT AND THERE WAS A FAULTY AIRBAG SYSTEM. AFTER A WEEK AND A HALF WITH NO FINAL ANSWER I FINALLY WAS CALLED THAT NISSAN WOULD COVER THE DAMAGES UNDER THE WARRANTY. THEY DID NOT ACCOMMODATE ME WITH AN EQUIVALENT VEHICLE I WAS DRIVING INSTEAD GAVE ME A NISSAN VERSA STANDARD. THE REPAIRS TOOK APPROX A MONTH AND A HALF. THE NOW HAVE OFFERED A SETTLEMENT OF 2500 TO RELEASE THEM FROM ANY FUTURE LIABILITY WHICH I HAVE NOT SUBMITTED BACK TO THEM AND I AM IN THE PROCESS OF WORKING WITH THE ATTORNEY GENERALS OFFICE FOR A LEMON LAW CLAIM. MY SAFETY WAS COMPROMISED AND REGARDLESS OF HOW MANY REPAIRS DONE IT STILL BECAME A VERY TRAUMATIC EXPERIENCE TO GO THROW. HAD I BEEN ON THE HIGHWAY I COULD HAVE DIED DUE TO THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYING AND IMPEDING MY VISIBILITY. I HAVE HAD MY PEARL WHITE 2017 NISSAN ROGUE SL FOR ABOUT 9 WEEKS NOW AND IT SEEMS LIKE I AM HAVING ISSUES WITH THE PAINT IN THE VEHICLE. I AM NOT SURE IF THE PAINT ON THE CAR IS VERY THIN OR THAT IF IT IS VERY CHEAP BUT I DO EVERYTHING I AM SUPPOSED TO BE DOING IN TAKING THE CAR AS I ALWAYS LOVE TO BE IN A CLEAN AND GREAT LOOING CAR. I WASH THE VEHICLE ONCE A WEEK, I DRIVE A GOOD DISTANCE AWAY FROM BEHIND OTHER VEHICLES ON A REGULAR ROAD & THE HIGHWAY ESPECIALLY, BUT IT SEEMS LIKE I GET A PAINT CHIPS ON THE HOOD EVERY DAY. NO MATTER WHAT I DO. AT THE END OF THE DAY, I TAKE CARE OF IT TO THE POINT THAT I HAVE MY WIFE COMPLAIN TO ME ABOUT HOW MUCH I TAKE CARE OF IT. AGAIN, I AM NOT SURE IF THE PAINT IS THIN/CHEAP OR NOT BUT IT SEEMS LIKE IT NOT FAIR TO HAVE PAID CLOSE TO $400 EXTRA FOR PREMIUM PAINT AND BE HAVING THIS PROBLEM. I ALSO HAVE DONE SOME RESEARCH ONLINE AND IT SEEMS LIKE IT IS AN ISSUE. FUNNY THAT NO ONE HAS REPORTED IT HERE IN THE PAST. I GUESS THERE IS A FIRST FOR EVERYTHING. 3RD TIME CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. 1ST TIME THEY SAID IT NEEDED COMPUTER UPDATE. NEXT THEY SAID IT NEEDED A COIL PUT IN. NOW IT NEED A WHOLE NEW ENGINE.
THE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING ON A ROAD THAT GOES UNDER A BRIDGE ON I-275. THE FRONT CAMERA SYSTEM MISTOOK THE BRIDGE FOR AN OBJECT ON THE ROAD AND ACTIVATED THE BRAKES. THE CAR BRAKED ON ITS OWN. THE CAR DID THIS ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS AND WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER ON BOTH OCCASIONS. ON THE 2ND OCCASION NISSAN ENGINEERING DECLARED THE SYSTEM WORKED AS INTENDED. THE VEHICLE WAS WITHIN ITS LANE OF TRAVEL WHEN APPROACHING THE BRIDGE.
MY HOME CAUGHT FIRE MARCH 24, ORIGINATING AT THE CAR PORT WHERE VEHICLE WAS PARKED. NEIGHBOR WITNESSED BRIGHT WHITE EXPLOSIONS TAKING PLACE AT THE CORNER OF THE CAR PORT WHERE VEHICLE WAS PARKED. MY WIFE WOKE TO THE SMOKE ALARM, AND HOUSE WAS FILLED WITH TOXIC SMOKE. AS I ROSE AND INVESTIGATED, I WITNESSED THE INTERIOR SIDE DOOR TO THE CAR PORT ABLAZE ABOVE THE DOOR FRAME. AS I TRIED TO SMACK THE FLAMES WITH A PILLOW, VISIBLE THROUGH THE GLASS DOOR TO THE CAR PORT, THE VEHICLE WAS AN INFERNO. I RACED BACK TO MY WIFE AND SCREAMED WE HAVE TO GET OUT OF THE HOUSE NOW.
