The contact owns a 2017 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that there was mold on the front passenger's side floor and underneath the front passenger's side seat. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was determined that water had leaked into the vehicle due to a clogged sunroof drain. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The contact stated that the front driver's side floor was soaking wet, and there was water underneath the front driver's side seat. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
The contact owns a 2017 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the local dealer under NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V093000 (Electrical System). The vehicle was repaired, but the contact stated that the repair to the use of a screw was not adequate. The contact stated that the key was now always opened. While the key fob was in his pants pocket, the key cut his leg. There was no medical attention provided. The manufacturer was contacted, but no additional assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 63,200. The VIN was not available.
The car siezes and stops instantly with a MALFUNCTION that is sensing something that is not present. It has happened over 6 times, within 2 weeks. It has been reported to Twin City Nissan (409)727-2779 three times. Nissan serviced a recall by “reprogramming” on 8-2-2023. The incident has continued to occur. 8-3-2023 a Nissan technician was riding in the car when the MALFUNCTION siezed the car to a stop again. No code was detected on their computer monitoring system at that time. The dealership said they could no longer assist with repairing the defect because they can not even determine what is causing it. It was suggested by the technician that I manually disarm the Emergency Brake System every time I start the car. Service manager told me there was nothing else to be done and wished me “good luck”. I have requested the service information for the follow-up on 8-3-2023. The dealership states the information has not been entered by the Service Manager nor the technician who performed the computer analysis.
Check engine light P0776 Pressure control sol B. Recommend replace CVT unit due to internal failure. Mileage: 109,422 This vehicle was covered by the extended warranty to 84 months or 84,000 miles. It failed at 109.422 miles. This is shocking and unacceptable and expensive! Approximately $6,000 to repair/replace transmission which made the vehicle more costly than its trade in value. Repair estimate performed by South Austin Nissan. Contacted manufacturer and was referred to the Kbb class action website for information.
Intake manifold part number 14001-7FH0C broke down while driving. Vehicle would not accelerate, when taken to mechanic, the code indicated that the intake manifold needs to be replaced. Nissan is aware of this and i have a case number with them. Case # [XXX] I was on the freeway when this happened, me and my wife were both very worried because there was no exit nearby as we were going up and down hills with other vehicles going around us. The component was inspected by a mechanic at Sun Devil Auto. I contacted the Nissan dealership and when they received the code error, they said I did not need to bring the vehicle in for inspection as that part is needed to be replaced. There were no warnings, no symptoms, and no warning lamps initially. This all happened as I was on a road trip from Gilbert, AZ to Williams, AZ. Then suddenly before I reached Payson, AZ it stopped accelerating. It took about 3 hours of driving this way maybe between speeds of 35-40mph back from Payson, AZ to Gilbert, AZ before the check engine light ignited and I was able to get the vehicle diagnosed at my nearest mechanic. I ordered the intake manifold and paid for it on 7/31/2023, but it has been on backorder because they stopped production on the original version and only want to sell an "updated" version of it as this failure known to Nissan USA Inc. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The contact owns a 2017 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving 45 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power; however, there was no warning light illuminated. The contact was able to stop on the side of the road and shut off the vehicle. The contact attempted several times to restart the vehicle, but the vehicle failed to restart. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The independent mechanic stated that no failure was found and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 145,382.
2017 Nissan Rouge should be recalled due to Faulty Transmission (Transmission Malfunction). 2017 Nissan Rouge is dangerous and places the life of driver, passengers and others at risk. Vehicle is available for inspection. On 07/20/2023 at approximately 10pm I arrived home with my Senior Mother and 5-year-old son who were seated in the back seat of my 2017 Nissan Rouge. I placed the car in park in my driveway, my 2017 Nissan Rouge remained in park for approximately 2 minutes while I removed an item from my driveway. When I returned to my vehicle that was in park for approximately 2 minutes with my Senior Mother and 5-year-old son in the backseat, I proceeded to turn the key that was in the ignition and pulled it out of the ignition. When I pulled the key out of the ignition the car proceeded to roll back while I was standing in the driver's door. My Mother and child began to scream that the car was moving and I was stuck between the driver's car door and the vehicle, so I reached for the emergency breaks as I was thrown to the ground, dragged and injured. Car rolled away and crashed into my neighbor's vehicle with my mother and child inside Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center: Problem was confirmed by a class action lawsuit (Case No. 3:21-cv-00099). Other Nissan Rouge car owners experienced their Nissan Rouge rolling away after placing vehicle in park due to transmission failure. Nissan did not recall the vehicles and awarded an additional 24,000 miles on the transmission past the original 60,000 miles. However, they have still not provided car owners notice of this specific issue. I never received notice that my 2017 Nissan transmission could unexpectedly fail causing my 2017 Nissan vehicle to roll away while in park with the engine off. A police report was filed with the Joliet Illinois Police Department. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. The contact stated that a loaner car has not been provided nor has the vehicle been repaired.

Forward collision warning failed leading to accident. Automatic emergency braking didn’t engage leading to accident. I didn’t have ANY warning of impending collision. The car made no attempt to brake or alert. I heard a beeping sound on impact but nothing prior. No lights, no warnings, and all assistive safety features failed to activate prior to impact. My safety was put at risk when assistive features failed. The car hit was damaged and pedestrians were in danger from car impact and flying debris. The car was a total loss and my life was in danger. I was injured and taken by ambulance to ER with head injury, broken rib, severe bruising and torn rib cage. The car was inspected by police and insurance. Police report indicated No emergency braking.
While driving in the rain on July 11, 2023 and for the first time I encountered rain dropping into the inside of my vehicle from several different places in the front windshield of my vehicle. The rain was falling profusely onto the gearshift area which caused me to multitask and try to cover the area to prevent any damage. I was able to get off the expressway and make it to the gas station where I took several pictures and videos. There were no warning lights or signs on my vehicle. There was an additional issue earlier this year when my car would not accelerate over 35-40 mph and when it did the car would shake badly. The car would just randomn make loud sounds and force a hard push before the accelerations. I took it to a Nissan dealership to find out the transmission had to be replaced. While driving the vehicle it steers toward the right. I also have noise from the bottom of the car and it appears there is something loose or dragging which causes making a left or right turn hard.
The contact owns a 2017 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving approximately 55 MPH in a heavy rainstorm, rainwater started leaking into the cabin of the vehicle. The contact stated that the rainwater entered the cabin of the vehicle from the top of the front windshield, and from the front driver's and passenger’s side windows. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were not yet notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 69,000.
Right rear wheel bearing was bad. I was told at 66,000 miles, this was premature. This started approximately 3 weeks ago and was corrected today. I had to take it to two places before a diagnosis was made for loud driving noise and slight vibration. The wheel bearing could have locked up and caused a severe incident.
I was contacted by the dealer via a letter indicating the vehicle could have a recall. I failed to ask them what it was when I called to make an appointment. When I visited the dealer's service department, I was surprised to be referred to a salesperson (you see, one of the options is for the car owner to sell their vehicle and get a new one). I believe this practice is deceptive and dealers should not be allowed to send letters using the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act and insinuating that there may be a recall associated with the vehicle.
Occasionally, when attempting to start driving from a complete stop (from a stop sign, traffic light, etc.) the Rogue will delay to accelerate and not move more than a few miles per hour for a few seconds before fully engaging. This is a safety issue when attempting to turn left at a green light, or crossing streets from a stop sign because there is no way to tell if the Rogue will delay in accelerating until you press the gas pedal. I have found that this is more likely to start happening after driving in stop and go traffic or on a route that has frequent stops. Also, occasionally after driving in stop and go traffic, the Rogue will begin to rev high and not accelerate. In both cases, if the Rogue is turned off and restarted, the problem stops and the Rogue accelerates normally again.
Twice in two years the sunroof drains have clogged causing severe water leaking into the cabin of the vehicle. The first time, the dealer cleaned them out and took everything out of my car to clean it, including seats and carpet. Now they are saying I will have to pay for it. Nissan has a recall regarding a leak into the dash side harness, I am wondering if this is only on vehicles with sunroofs. I talked to Nissan, they said there is nothing they will do for the issue. When I called the service department at the local Nissan dealer, I was told by one of their managers, "Thats why I will never buy a Nissan with a sunroof". This is clearly a known issue, there are thousands of people talking about this issue on forums. I was criticized when I was asked if the vehicle is usually parked outside. I told them that it was, which is not an abnormal practice in the US. Basically they said its my fault for the leak because I park outside. The main issue now is that the car is so waterlogged that it is starting to mold or mildew. Everything in the car is soaked, it is unusable. I do not understand how they know about this issue but have not done a recall to fix it.
The contact’s daughter owns a 2017 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving approximately 30 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was able to be restarted on the third attempt and the vehicle was steered to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the wiring harness needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 6,800.
Nissan Rogue's rear door has a sharply angled edge (right below the outside door nob/handle), which can be dangerous for young kids. While getting out of the rear door, my son who is 4 years old hit his head on the angled edge of the door and cut his head. Looking at other cars in the same class, most other doors have smoothed angled edge or relatively straight edge with no angled edge.
My daughter and I were driving home from work when I heard a whining noise that proceeded to get louder the more I drove. We came to a stop light and the noise stopped. When I proceeded to drive again, the brake felt like it stuck and then within a minute, it let up. About a mile down the road, the whining noise got extremely loud and then we heard a loud pop like a tire popped but it didn't. The car started jerking so I pulled over. It sat for a few and when my husband got to us, it was driving ok again. I took it to the repair shop where they told me there is a internal component in the transmission that's failing. The mechanic said this is a common problem with these cars so why haven't you guys issued a recall on the cvt?? Something needs to be done about this.
When traveling at highway speeds 65 MPH, the car stopped accelerating and eventually stalled. There was no warning on the dash.
My mother and I opened the trunk to place a luggage inside, when a part of the rear hatch detached and hit us as it fell. The piece is plastic and has no warning sensors.
The sunroof self combusted (not rock or object hit it) while driving on the freeway. It shattered and pieces were flying off until I could stop. I believe there is some defect with that glass and or the protective coating that causes this from what I have learned. It is extremely dangerous and thankfully we had the sunroof cover closed.
Transmission went out on the Freeway and from 75 miles per hour went to 15 miles per hour, scary situation and thank God we made to the shoop, and the mechanic charge me 6,000dlls for the replacement of my transmission,no fear .

As I was driving, steadily pressing on my gas, and I felt the car stopping. The car sounded like it was in neutral and I was pressing on the gas but it didn’t make a difference. I pulled over put it in park, then drive again. The problem persisted. I turned off the car and then it drove regularly. This has occurred 2 times already. I use premium gasoline and get oil changes regularly. This seems like a transmission problem. I’m very scared this might happen when I’m on a highway.
There is a severe acceleration issue happening with this vehicle. When ibling for to long or stop/go traffic, the acceleration of the vehicle disappears and seems to ride with little mobility. The rpms will sky rocket, yet the car will not move fast at all. It's gotten quite scary crossing two lanes of traffic from a stoplight. There is an attached doc from the manufacturer communications section stating just this issue on Jan 2018.
Took car to local mechanic for airbag light. The passenger seat sensors register that someone is not sitting in the seat when someone is. The passenger seat OFF light is constantly on regardless of someone in the seat. Mechanic tried to reprogram and fix the car computer. That did not work so mechanic took the rogue to the local Nissan to have them reprogram the computer. The dealer could not reprogram it. The next solution was to replace the passenger seat sensors or the entire passenger seat and then reprogram the computer. Elected to not fix this as this was a similar from a recall of 2016 and earlier Nissan rogues.
EVERY SINGLE TIME I DRIVE MY 2017 NISSAN ROGUE, it acts up at the worst times when I'm trying to cross a busy street with oncoming traffic, sometimes very high speed, I cannot get sufficient acceleration!! I HAVE COME SO CLOSE TO GETTING HIT THAT NOW I AM CONVINCED, IN A MATTER OF "WHEN", THAT I WILL BE HIT!! I am aware that You and Nissan are aware of the CVT being a problem that no one wants to take responsibility for. I'm keeping this report so "when I get hit" a lawsuit will be forthcoming. (Even if I die) I've instructed family to sue if I parish.
I have just purchased the car and have not driven it over 100 miles, and when the car heated up, it would not shift out of first gear. I took it to the Nissan dealership because when I called them they said there is a known issue with this CVT transmission and Nissan is replacing or repairing them at no charge. They inspected the car, and since there were no error codes they informed me that they could not do anything for me. The car cannot be driven and I do not know what to do.
On 4-27-2023 With no warning light's or any symptoms of problems, I made a left turn at a busy intersection and upon acceleration of the gas the car felt as if wanted to stall. I had a brief decline in power with a bit of locking of the steering wheel then it jolted forward and ran normal. I'm glad I was only a half mile from home to park it safely. On 4-28-2023 I was able to drive it a mile from home without incident to have the oil changed, as well as fuel injectors cleaned and radiator serviced, in hope that it would help with the issue, but it did not. I was able to get it home and as i was about to parallel park I put it in reverse and turned my wheels and it began locking of the wheels on and off. I am blessed to have made it home and not be on the road with my family.
The contact owns a 2017 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 65 MPH, the vehicle was jerking and stalling. The contact stated that the vehicle was parked, and after restarting, failed to shift gear and became inoperable. The contact stated that various unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was then towed to an independent mechanic, where it remained awaiting the repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 116,000.
It does not detect forward collision especially when it rains heavy.
The contact owned a 2017 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while her son was driving at 70 MPH, he was rear-ended by another vehicle which caused him to crash into the vehicle in front of him. The air bags did not deploy upon impact. Her son was taken to the hospital where he was treated for multiple injuries to his head, both legs, both wrists, and back. The whereabouts of the other drivers were unknown. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to an independent tow lot where it was deemed a total loss. The dealer nor the manufacturer had been notified of the failure. The vehicle was destroyed. The failure mileage was approximately 110,000.
Car unexpectedly stopped during highway speeds, with no warning. Car went from 75mph to 0mph. Driver barely had time to be able to pull off to the side.
My air bag light was on, so I took it in and they said that it was an umbrella that was the problem which I have never heard of. So now I can't put anything in the back seat. After that the light kept going on and off now it's on all the time. So they said that it would cost me thousands of dollars to fix. I think it's a line so they don't have to fix it. My rogue is 2017 and only has 20000 miles.I think there's a problem with the air bags lights.
The automatic braking system engaged four times randomly on 4/4 and 4/5/23 while driving on us hwy 70 in Nashville TN. There were no obstructions nearby when this occurred. Two of the incidents occurred while traveling approximately 45 to 50 mph almost resulting in a rear end collision from the driver behind. The other two incidents occurred at slower speeds making the vehicle almost impossible to drive. This was a significant safety concern since it occurred without warning. The Rogue is currently at action nissan in Nashville for diagnosis.
Nissan has Not properly sealed the exterior of this car exposes the customer to extensive weather damage to the motor, electrical and the cabin of the car. Owners of this car has already hhad safety issues because of the root problem the car is not weather protected from it's inception. I'm not the expert but you have to weather seal a house and you must weather seal your cars because they are in the elements reagularly. No customer at the point of sale and no salesman can assure that the car is properly protected from water getting inside the car! That is an issue that the manufacturer should ganuantee. Ive owned numerous cars and water leakage into the cabin or motor has never been a problem. This should be a national recall to address the water leakage problem. This water breach has also caused mole and mildew to grow on the inside of the car.
The car begins to slow down and not accelerate. Then when car is pulled over, turned off and restarted it goes back to driving normal. Happens about 3 times per day. Almost caused a pile up on highway because cars had to wait for me to Pull over on shoulder.
While driving home on an expressway, the vehicle began to slow down and the engine rpm’s began to increase to about 5000 rpm. The vehicle did not have any more power, and would only go about 5-10 mph. This put my daughter in danger, not being able to keep up with traffic, and quickly decelerating in traffic. The dealership has confirmed that the CVT transmission is failed, and the vehicle is currently still at the dealership awaiting replacement of the transmission. There were no messages or warning lamps when this suddenly occurred, and there were no prior warnings that anything was about to fail.
After doing errands or driving for more then about 45 mins when I come to a stop light complete stop then try to go the car goes no we’re revs up but doesn’t go then all of a sudden jolts forward now it’s everyday when I drive to just drop kids at school almost got hit twice because car would not go . Also there is horrible grinding sound now coming from back end sounds like
Driving at speed the car brake by itself. There was no cars anywhere near me. It has happened multiple times
Sadly disappointed in the fact that my transmission is failing and is a known issue with these vehicles. I have contacted Nissan and their Infinity Consumer Affairs has called back. I try to call them back and get nothing but a voicemail. They don’t seem to want to address this issue. The transmission will not initially engage in either reverse or drive. It also upshifts for no reason when driving. It has about 93k miles on it and the transmission is junk. The company should have recalled all these cvt transmissions. I pulled it from my daughter to have her stop driving it due to I didn’t want her stranded on the side of the road while Nissan dances around my issue and other customers’ issues with these junky transmissions. I put a lot of faith in the Nissan brand to only be soured by this experience.
The contact owns a 2010 Hyundai Elantra. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V093000 (Electrical System) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
The defrost only blows out cold air, along with the drivers side heat. Heat comes out of the passenger side but the defrost and drivers side is always cold. The cold defrost makes for LESS visibility and freezes the windshield making it unsafe to drive in winter conditions or cold conditions. The actuator door has been replaced twice and did not fix the issue. The dealership has recommended the entire Heater / AC Unit Assembly being replaced for $3000. This is a common safety concern with the Nissan Rogue and should be recalled before further accidents/injuries/problems occur.
The contact owns a 2017 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving 20-25 MPH, the vehicle temporarily lost motive power and stalled. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the failure had occurred twice. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V093000 (Electrical System). The contact stated that the vehicle was designed with the Push Start/Stop button. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 64,000.
When I drive my car in the rain the indicator light for the Front Collision Warning comes on and my car tries to break automatically. It has happened a few times, but yesterday it happened while I was driving on the freeway and it caused me to hydroplane across 3 lanes of traffic. Luckily I wasn't hit, but it could have been a very different situation. This is a safety issue and I want to have it fixed, but Nissan is refusing to pay for this.
Tires---Kumho Solus KL 21 225/65R17 Bought 2 on 1/11/21--mileage on vehicle at time was 46798 Bought 2 on 4/12/21--mileage on vehicle at time was 51487 In January 2023 the vehicle began having noticeable vibration and "road" noise. Took it to the business where tires were purchased and had them rotate the tires. Over the course of 2 weeks the vibration and "road" noise became more prominent. I then took it to another business and asked them to take a close look at the tires and check balance on each. They found 2 that had large bulges in the tread area and 2 that had smaller bulges in the tread. I have turned the tires in to business where they were purchased to be returned to manufacturer for inpection.
-engine light was on and nissan ran a diagnostic and found the code number p0603 and needs a new ECM -this could cause an accident as the driver can loose control of vehicle at any moment causing the driver and others at high risk -the problem was confirmed by the dealer service center -the engine light was the only indicator and other private car auto body stated the battery needed replacement but nissan ran a diagnostic to find it was the ECM.
Recall for water potentially leaking into drivers side dash harness connector…which could cause battery discharge and thermal damage to connector (along with other possible problems). About two weeks prior to receiving the recall letter…my Rogue started having major battery issues - such as, thick blue corrosion on and around both terminals, all down the cables/wiring, and circuit board attached. Got the alternator checked, bought a new battery, and still…same problems. It hasn’t been reliable enough to drive. The day I call to make an appointment at the Nissan Dealership, I received the letter of the recall (1/23/23). The letter states to call and make an appointment to get it fixed ASAP. After finally talking to someone who had little knowledge on the recall AND couldn’t even tell me what the part is or where it was. I was then informed that they do not have the parts to fix it because Nissan doesn’t have them available yet….and to call back in a couple weeks cause they had no knowledge when parts would even be available! After telling him my issues, he informs me that Nissan recommends not to drive it whatsoever and to unhook my battery completely…due to major fire potential. I live 25 minutes from town, out in the country with my 84 year old grandmother…with NO other vehicle options available. The dealership doesn’t offer any sort of rental car service and didn’t seem to care or even offer any other options. I have a job and a grandmother I look after. I’m not one to complain, but this is absolutely ridiculous. Not to mention the fact, the problems my car is experiencing, fall under this recall is VERY nerve racking to know I was at risk of my car catching on fire while driving it or even having my battery hooked up while it’s parked!

The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 168,000.
The contact owns a 2017 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving 30 MPH, the vehicle lost power and stalled without warning. The contact was able to pull over on the side of the road, and after several attempts, the vehicle restarted. The dealer was contacted, and the dealer stated that the vehicle needed to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 60,000.
