AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BREAKS ENGAGE AT RANDOM TIMES. THERE IS NEVER ANYTHING IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE OR IN ITS PATH, BUT THE CAR BEEPS, SHAKES, AND THE BREAKS ENGAGE AT RANDOM MOMENTS.
NOT DRIVING THE VEHICLE FOR FEW HOURS A LOUD KNOCKING SOUND COMES FROM ENGINE WHILE IDLING AFTER FEW MINUTES IT GOES AWAY. TOOK IT TO DEALERSHIP THEY CAN'T DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 NISSAN ROGUE. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE MADE A LOUD ABNORMAL NOISE AND SUDDENLY CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. IN ADDITION, THE FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM, AIR BAG, AND BRAKE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. J C BILLION INC. (270 AUTOMOTIVE AVE, BOZEMAN, MT 59718, (406) 551-6529) WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TONKIN WILSONVILLE NISSAN (9206, 26700 SW 95TH AVE, WILSONVILLE, OR 97070, (503) 222-2277) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKE SENSOR AND PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPROGRAMMED. THE SENSORS WERE REPROGRAMMED, BUT THE AIR BAG INDICATOR REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,900.
GOING HOME FROM WORK ON FRIDAY, GOING 60 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY, MY VEHICLE BRAKED ON ITS OWN. THERE WAS NOTHING IN THE ROADWAY, IT WAS A CLEAR, SUNNY DAY. THANKFULLY, NO VEHICLE WAS CLOSE BEHIND ME. I IMMEDIATELY EXITED THE HIGHWAY AND WENT DIRECTLY TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT THE ROGUE. I EXPLAINED TO THE SERVICE PERSONNEL WHAT HAPPENED. HE DROVE THE VEHICLE AROUND THE PARKING LOT AND CAME BACK AND SAID IT DIDN'T DO ANYTHING AND CAN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT. HE SPOKE WITH HIS MANAGER, WHO TOLD THE SERVICE MAN THAT HIS ROGUE DOES IT AT TIMES, TOO. I SAID THIS IS NOT NORMAL AND IT'S DANGEROUS. I GOT NO RELIEF. I DECIDED TO SEE IF IT WOULD HAPPEN AGAIN AND LEFT THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT FOR HOME. LESS THAN A FEW BLOCKS FROM MY HOME, THE BRAKING PROBLEM HAPPENED AGAIN. I WAS GOING 40 MPH. I CALLED THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AS SOON AS I GOT HOME AND EXPLAINED IT HAPPENED AGAIN AND THE SERVICE PERSON ACTUALLY GOT SURLY WITH ME AND TO BRING MY VEHICLE IN AT 8:00 AM (SHARP) ON MONDAY FOR A CHECK WITH A TECHNICIAN. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS DEFECT THAT NEEDS TO BE FIXED FOR FREE BY NISSAN AS SOON AS POSSIBLE BEFORE SOMEONE'S VEHICLE CAUSES AN ACCIDENT AND CAUSES INJURY, OR WORSE, DEATH.
AEB ACTIVATES WHEN DRIVING CAUSING VEHICLE TO STOP SUDDENLY FOR NO REASON. THERE IS NOTHING TO TRIGGER THIS, VEHICLE JUST STOPS. THIS HAS HAPPENED 5 TIMES TO ME. NISSAN SENT OUT A NOTICE THAT THERE WAS A SOFTWARE UPGRADE AVAILABLE TO ELIMINATE THIS FROM HAPPENING. ONCE SOFTWARE WAS UPGRADED, HAPPENED 1 TIME AGAIN AS I APPROACHED RAILROAD TRACKS.. TOOK TO DEALER,VEHICLE CURRENTLY HAS 12,700 MILES, DEALER UNABLE TO DUPLICATE PROBLEM. NISSAN HAS ACKNOWLEDGED "NO FIX" AND TO RETURN TO DEALER IF PROBLEM OCCURS AGAIN. HAVE FILED A COMPLAINT WITH NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS CASE #35496726, WITH NO SATISFACTORY RESOLUTION. DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE.
BRAKING SYSTEM DID NOT FUNCTION CAUSING VEHICLE TO REAR END CAR IN FRONT OF ME WHEN I WAS IN HEAVY AFTERNOON TRAFFIC ENTERING I-565 FROM A DOWNWARD RAMP FROM OVERPASS OVER I-565. MINIMUM DAMAGE TO TOYOTA HIGHLANDER HIT FROM REAR. SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO FRONT END OF ROGUE. UNDRIVEABLE. TOWED TO BODY SHOP!
THE CAR HAS AN AUTOMATIC BRAKING SYSTEM WHICH ENGAGES IF IT SENSES AN IMPENDING ACCIDENT, IT SHOWS A WARNING AND THEN TAKES CONTROL OF THE CAR AND BRAKES IF YOU DO NOT. THE IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AS IT MALFUNCTIONS AND ENGAGES WHEN THERE IS NO THREAT. THERE ARE SEVERAL COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME SENERIO, NISSAN HAS ACTKNOWLEGED THAT THERE IS AN ISSUE - BUT HAS NO FIX FOR THE SENSOR ISSUE. MINE ENGAGED TWICE YESTERDAY WHILE I WAS ENTERING THE FREEWAY AT APP 30-40 MPH. THERE WERE NO CARS IN FRONT OF ME AND NO OBSTRUCTIONS. THE ROADS WERE DRY, IT WAS VERY WINDY OUT, THE RAMP TO THE FREEWAYS BOTH WAS AT A SLIGHT INCLINE WITH STRAIGHT ACCESS. THE CAR "SENSED" I WAS GOING TO HIT SOMETHING AND EMERGENTLY BRAKED OUT OF NOWHERE. THERE WERE CARS BEHIND ME THAT ALMOST HIT ME.
WHILE DRIVING 55MPH BRAKE SYSTEM ACTIVATED WITHOUT REASON, CLEAR DRY PAVED ROAD WITHOUT TRAFFIC OR OBSTRUCTIONS. HARD BRAKING BY SYSTEM FOR MAYBE 30 MPH DROP IN SPEED THEN RETURNED TO NORMAL. DRIVER AND PASSENGER WERE SHOOK UP. FELT LIKE GOING OVER RUMBLE STRIPS WHERE THEIR WERE NONE. HAD THEIR BEEN CLOSE FOLLOWING TRAFFIC WE WOULD HAVE BEEN HIT. TOOK CAR TO DEALER WHO CHECKED IT OVER AND DID SOME KIND OF UPDATE.
I RECENTLY SAW A COMPLAINT REGARDING "UNINTENDED BRAKING DUE TO THE AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING (AEB) SYSTEM ENGAGING WITH NO APPARENT OBSTRUCTION IN THE PATH OF THE VEHICLE." I BELIEVE THIS EXACT THING HAPPENED TO ME GOING APPROX 50-60MPH ON THE HIGHWAY WITH NO OTHER VEHICLES IN MY PATH. SCARED THE CRAP OUT OF ME BUT IT ONLY LASTED FOR A FEW SECONDS AND HAS NOT HAPPENED AGAIN (YET). DATE OF OCCURRENCE IS APPROXIMATE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 NISSAN ROGUE. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE COLLISION WARNING SENSOR ACTIVATED AND AN ABNORMAL POPPING SOUND WAS HEARD FROM THE TRANSMISSION. ADDITIONALLY, THERE WAS A GRINDING, METAL-ON-METAL SOUND COMING FROM THE TRANSMISSION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TAYLOR'S AUTO MAX (LOCATED AT 4100 10TH AVE S, GREAT FALLS, MT 59405, (406) 727-0340) TO BE DIAGNOSED AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION OPERATED AS INTENDED. THE DEALER ADJUSTED THE COLLISION WARNING SENSORS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND OFFERED TO BUY BACK THE VEHICLE. THE OFFER WAS RESCINDED AFTER THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU WAS CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,945. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 NISSAN ROGUE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH, A GRINDING NOISE WAS HEARD AND WOULD NOT STOP. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THIS WAS THE SECOND TIME THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO RAMSEY NISSAN (401 NJ-17, UPPER SADDLE RIVER, NJ 07458), BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED OTHER SUGGESTING THAT THE AVOIDANCE CONTROL SYSTEM FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 35221164. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,777.
3/23/19 WHILE DRIVING IN THE MIDDLE LANE OF THE FREEWAY HWY 101SOUTH TO SAN FRANCISCO THE SUNROOF OF MY NISSAN ROGUE 2018 EXPLODED. THIS STARTLED THE DRIVER AND THE CAR SWERVED BUT THE DRIVER GOT THE CAR UNDER CONTROL. WHEN WE STOPPED TO SEE WHAT HAPPENED, THE SUNROOF GLASS HAD EXPLODED. WE HAVE HAD THE CAR FOR 9 MONTHS.
GOING UP A RAMP IN THE PARKING GARAGE, THE AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING ENGAGED WITH NO OBSTRUCTION, CAUSING MY VEHICLE TO SUDDENLY STOP. CAR BEHIND ME DID NOT EXPECT SUDDEN STOP AND REAR ENDED ME.
BRAND NEW 2018 NISSAN ROGUE, DRIVING TO WORK AT AROUND 6AM ROUGHLY 30MPH. WAS JAMMING OUT AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR COMES TO A COMPLETE STOP WITHOUT ANY WARNING. LAPTOP BAG WHICH WAS ON THE FRONT SEAT SLAMMED INTO THE DASH, LUCKILY I WAS WEARING MY SEATBELT OR I WOULD HAVE HAD NISSAN STEERING WHEEL FOR BREAKFAST. THIS ISSUE HAPPENED IN 2019 AND IT IS STILL HAPPENING IN 2021 AFTER MANY MANY ATTEMPTS TO HAVE NISSAN TAKE THIS VEHICLE BACK. NISSAN I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THIS VEHICLE.
DRIVING THROUGH TOWN, USUALLY THROUGH AN INTERSECTION, MY CAR BEGINS ALARMING AND THEN DRAMATICALLY SLOWS DOWN, IF I GIVE IT GAS IT WILL GO AGAIN. IT HAPPENED TO ME 3 DIFFERENT TIMES, EACH TIME THERE WERE NOT PEOPLE IN FRONT OF ME OR ANYTHING IN MY PATH. I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY SAID THEY UPDATED THE SOFTWARE AND IT SHOULD BE FIXED. WITHIN THE NEXT COUPLE DAYS IT DID IT AGAIN, AND THIS TIME I WAS ONLY GOING ABOUT 15 MPH, DUE TO CONSTRUCTION. AGAIN THERE WAS NO ONE IN FRONT OF ME, AND THE DASHBOARD ALARMED AND THEN IT DRAMATICALLY SLOWED AGAIN. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN AND THEY SAID IT MIGHT BE THAT MY MPH LIMIT WAS SET TO 10MPH ABOVE THE SPEED LIMIT, THEY SHUT IT OFF AND SAID THAT WOULD HELP. LIKE I SAID, I WAS ONLY GOING ABOUT 15 MPH WHEN IT HAPPENED, SO I NOT CONFIDENT THAT THIS WILL FIX IT. IT HAS ONLY BEEN 3 DAYS SINCE THEY SHUT THAT FUNCTION OFF, SO I WILL KEEP YOU POSTED. THEN THIS MORNING ON MY WAY TO WORK, MY COLLISION LIGHT WAS ON AND FLASHING, AND EVERY TIME I MADE A RIGHT HAND TURN, THE CAR SOUNDED LIKE SOMETHING WAS GRINDING. I HATE THIS CAR AND AM INCREDIBLY DISAPPOINTED.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN A STRAIGHT SUBURBAN ROAD AT APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE CAR BEEPS SEVERAL TIMES AND COMES TO A SUDDEN AND HARSH STOP WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL FULLY DEPRESSED. CAR BEHIND ALMOST SLAMMED INTO THE CAR. NO OBSTRUCTION ON ROAD, CLEAR WEATHER.
WHEN A CONSUMER HAS ANY TYPE OF WARRANTY ISSUE OR SAFETY ISSUE SERVICED BY THEIR LOCAL NISSAN DEALER, IS NISSAN NORTH AMERICA REQUIRED TO REPORT THE ISSUE TO NHTSA? BECAUSE I'M CONFIDENT NISSAN KNOWS EXACTLY HOW MANY NAVIGATION SYSTEMS EXACTLY LIKE MINE THEY HAVE REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW THAT NUMBER. BECAUSE IF I HAD SEEN THAT AMOUNT OF REPLACEMENTS WHILE I WAS STILL DOING NEW CAR REASEARCH IN JAN 2019, I WOULD NOT HAVE PURCHASED THIS BRAND NEW ROGUE SL PLATNUM INT. & BOSE PREMIUM SOUND PKG! ALREADY MY BRAND NEW ROGUE IS EXPERIENCING SEVERAL SERIOUS ISSUES. THE NAVIGATION/AUDIO SYSTEM SCREEN WITH NISSANCONNECT SERVICE JUST GOES BLACK. IT INTERMITTENTLY AND FOR NO APPARENT REASON REBOOTS BY ITSELF ON AND OFF - CONSTANTLY AFTER THE ROGUE HAS BEEN STARTED. IT FACTORY RESETS ITSELF AS MANY AS 25 TIMES IN A 10 MILE DRIVE. SEVERAL OF THOSE 25 REBOOTS MY RADIO WILL TURN ITSELF BACK ON AT AN EXTREMELY LOUD VOLUME, STARTLING ME WHILE I'M DRIVING. THAT IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE! THE BACK-UP CAMERA STILL WORKS MOST OF THE TIME, BUT NOT ALL THE TIME. I'M CURRENTLY WAITING A FULL 19 DAYS WHILE THIS REPLACEMENT PART IS ON BACKORDER FROM NISSAN. AND I'M DRIVING THE ROGUE WITH THE STARTLING, BLARING AUDIO IN THIS CONDITION THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE WAIT. NISSAN NORTH AM WON'T APPROVE A LOANER THRU MY DEALER BECAUSE MY CAR IS STILL "DRIVABLE". DRIVABILITY AND SAFETY TO NISSAN ARE TWO DIFFERENT THINGS. HOW MANY MORE OF THESE ROGUES WITH THIS PROBLEM ARE YOU KNOWINGLY PLANNING TO SELL TO UNWITTING CONSUMERS, NISSAN? MOST CONSUMERS DO NOT KNOW TO REPORT THIS TO NHTSA FOR THEMSELVES, SO IT IS GOING UNREPORTED. NISSAN CERTAINLY ISN'T REPORTING THE ISSUE! WHERE IS THE SERVICE BULLETIN? WHY ISN'T ANYONE SAYING, "YES, WE KNOW THERE IS A PROBLEM."? WHAT IS THE SOLUTION? THERE ISN'T ONE. YOU KNOW WHY? NISSAN KNOWS PEOPLE DON'T WANT A CAR IF IT HAS SOMETHING WRONG WITH IT.
TL* THE CONTACT RENTED A 2018 NISSAN ROGUE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH THROUGH A PARKING LOT, THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE WHEEL MADE CONTACT WITH THE SIDE OF A CURB. AFTER MAKING CONTACT WITH THE CURB, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED TO APPROXIMATELY 80 MPH. DURING THE INCIDENT, THE VEHICLE MADE A SHARP 90 DEGREE TURN AND THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN IN EITHER DIRECTION. THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A COMMERCIAL BUILDING. THE VEHICLE PENETRATED THE WALL AND STOPPED INSIDE THE BUILDING. BOTH THE DRIVER AND FRONT PASSENGER SUFFERED HEAD AND NECK INJURIES, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL TREATMENT. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED AWAY. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. REVERSE SEEMS TO GET STUCK IN NEUTRAL,WONT REVERSE,HAD TO GO FORWARD AND REVERSE AGAIN.ALSO SINCE PURCHASE OF CAR RADIO BACK UP FREEZES. DEALER JUST SAYS RECORD ISSUE .NOT REPAIRED
TWICE I HAVE GOTTEN THIS ERROR (SEE ATTACHED PHOTOS) WHILE MERGING ONTO INTERSTATE IN MARCH 2019 I ONLY TOOK PHOTOS THE FIRST TIME AND ONCE I HAVE HAD THE BRAKES AUTOMATICALLY ATTEMPT TO STOP THE CAR ON A REGULAR ROAD IN JULY 2019. I DID CONTACT THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALER AND WAS TOLD MY CAR WAS NOT IN THE GROUP TO HAVE REPAIR.
THIS VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED NEW, HAS MANUAL SEATS THAT AFTER A FEW MONTHS STARTED SINKING ON THEIR OWN WITHIN A FEW HOURS OF BEING SET. IT'S UNABLE TO RETAIN THE SET SEAT HEIGHT FOR ANY EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME AND FORCES THE DRIVER TO KEEP PUMPING UP THE SEAT WHILE DRIVING OR ADJUST REAR MIRRORS TO COMPENSATE.
DISTANCE SENSOR MALFUNCTIONING. I HAVE HAD TO RETURN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP THREE TIMES FOR THIS ISSUE. WITHOUT WARNING THE CAR WILL SLAM ON THE BRAKES AS IF SOMETHING WAS IN ITS PATH.
AUTOMATIC BRAKING SYSTEM ENGAGES WITHOUT ANY VEHICLES OR OBSTRUCTIONS PRESENT.THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AND ON AT LEAST 5 DIFFERENT TIMES THE AUTO SAFETY BRAKING SYSTEM ENGAGED FOR NO REASON CREATING A HAZZARD FOR MYSELF AND OTHER MOTORISTS.
THE AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKE SYSTEM ENGAGES WHEN THERE IS A CLEAR ROAD AND NO OBSTRUCTIONS IN FRONT OF OR AROUND THE VEHICLE WHATSOEVER. THE MOST RECENT INCIDENT HAPPENED WHILE THE CAR WAS IN MOTION ON A HIGHWAY GOING 45-50 MPH - THE AEB SYSTEM DEPLOYED AND THE CAR FULLY ENGAGED THE BRAKES IN AN ATTEMPT TO STOP. THIS WAS ON AN OPEN ROAD WITH NO OTHER VEHICLES OR OBSTRUCTIONS IN THE ROAD OR EVEN IN MY DIRECT LINE OF SIGHT. THERE ARE MANY OTHERS WHO SEEM TO HAVE REPORTED THIS ISSUE TO THEIR DEALER'S SERVICE DEPT. AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE SENSORS. I LIVE WHERE ICE IS COMMON - HAD THIS HAPPENED EVEN TRAVELING AT A SLOWER PACE IN BAD ROAD CONDITIONS, I COULD HAVE SPUN OUT, SLID INTO OTHER TRAFFIC, INTO THE DITCH, ETC. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION...IT'S A REAR-END COLLISION OR EVEN WORSE ACCIDENT JUST WAITING TO HAPPEN.
I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET DURING A CLEAR DAY AT APPROXIMATELY 9AM. THE VEHICAL WAS GOING 40MPH WHEN THE FRONT COLLISION SENSOR ACTIVATED THE EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM. THERE WERE NO CARS OR OBSTACLES AROUND THE VEHICLE. I WAS TRAVELING IN A STRAIGHT LINE. THE CAR SUDDENLY STOPPED. AFTER STOPPING, THE VEHICLE RETURNED TO NORMAL OPERATION AND THE COLLISION WARNING CLEARED. I HAVE SCHEDULED SERVICE TO ADDRESS MY CONCERNS WITH THE FRONT RADAR SYSTEM.
IN OCTOBER 2018, I WAS DRIVING MY NISSAN ROGUE WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL (PROPILOT) ACTIVATED. SUDDENLY AND UNEXPECTEDLY, WITH NO VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME, MY VEHICLE APPLIED THE BRAKES FOR A BRIEF PERIOD - MAYBE ONE SECOND - NOT LONG ENOUGH TO MAKE IT SKID. I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALER, AND THEY APPLIED SOFTWARE UPDATE NTB18-041A.TO REPROGRAM THE RADAR SENSOR. ON MARCH 9, 2019, THE SAME PROBLEM HAPPENED AGAIN - I WAS DRIVING AT ABOUT 55 MPH ON INTERSTATE 81, WITH NO VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME, AND MY VEHICLE APPLIED THE BRAKES SUDDENLY AND UNEXPECTEDLY. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE - IF ANOTHER VEHIICLE BEEN CLOSE BEHIND ME, IT COULD HAVE BEEN REAR-ENDED OUR VEHICLE.
AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM ON MY VEHICLE INITIATES WHEN NOT NEEDED INTERMITTENTLY. NO VEHICLES, OBJECTS, ITEMS, CURBS, ETC IN VICINITY OR IN FRONT OF VEHICLE. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP FOR VOLUNTARY AEB UPDATE, PER NOTICE FROM NISSAN, AND DUE TO IT NOT BEING 'ACTIVE' CODE, UPDATE COULD NOT BE PERFORMED. WAS EXPLAINED TO ME THAT CODE COULD BE SEEN AS HAVING 'POPPED', BUT DUE TO CAR HAVING BEEN TURNED OFF AND THEN TURNED ON PRIOR TO BEING AT DEALERSHIP FOR INSPECTION, THEIR MAINTENANCE PROCESSES PREVENT THE SOFTWARE UPDATE. IT WAS FURTHER EXPLAINED TO ME THAT ONCE I TURN CAR OFF AFTER THE AEB EVENT, THAT IT IS NO LONGER AN ACTIVE CODE, BUT BECOMES A PASSIVE CODE. THIS BECOMES AN ISSUE DUE THE VERY NATURE OF REQUIRING AN ACTIVE CODE, AS I WILL ASSUME THAT NOT ALL OWNERS ARE ABLE TO GO DIRECTLY FROM THE AEB ACTIVATION STRAIGHT TO A NISSAN DEALER (I MYSELF HAVE THIS ISSUE AS IT HAS REPEATEDLY HAPPENED TO ME IN THE MORNINGS ON MY WAY TO CAMPUS OR WORK AND AM UNABLE TO TAKE IT TO DEALER WITHOUT HAVING THE CAR TURNED OFF FOR SOME TIME.). THIS SHOULD BE ELEVATED TO A WARRANTY RECALL REGARDLESS OF ACTIVE CODE OR NOT, AS HAVING A SOFTWARE ISSUE REGARDING A BRAKING SYSTEM SHOULD BE CONSIDERED MORE THAN JUST INCONVENIENT.
I WAS TRAVELLING IN MY VEHICLE WHEN I CAME TO A RED TRAFFIC LIGHT AND STOPPED. ONCE THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, I PROCEEDED TO GO FORWARD WHEN MY VEHICLE SEEMED TO SLOWED DOWN ON ITS OWN. WHEN I STEPPED ON THE GAS PEDAL, IT SEEMED THE VEHICLE DIDN'T WANT TO MOVE FORWARD. THE OTHER ISSUE IS THAT THIS MORNING I WAS DRIVING IN MY VEHICLE WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN SOME SENSORS SEEMED TO BE SET OFF. I THEN PULLED OVER AND TURNED OF THE IGNITION. I WAS THEN ABLE TO START MY VEHICLE AND PROCEED TO MY DESTINATION WITHOUT ANOTHER OCCURRENCE.
I PURCHASED THIS CAR BRAND NEW. 2 WEEKS LATER I WAS DIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND THE PARK BRAKE SYSTEM LIGHT WENT AND BAM THE BRAKES HIT. SCARED THE CRAP OUT OF ME. I'VE OWNED THIS CAR FOR 8 MONTHS NOW. ITS HAPPENED TO ME 6 TIMES ALREADY. THE BAD THING IS YOU NEVER CAN PREDICT IT. I'VE TAKEN IT TO THE LOCAL DEALER AND ALL THEY TELL ME IS THAT THEY CAN GET IT TO DUPLICATE. SO I WENT ON LINE TO DO MY OWN RESEARCH AND FOUND A BUNCH OF OTHER PEOPLE WITH THE SAME ISSUE. I AM ELDERLY SO I WAS STARTING TO THINK I WAS GOING CRAZY AND ALSO THE NISSAN DEALER WAS MAKING ME OUT TO BE AS WELL. I PURCHASED A NEW CAR SO I COULD BE SAFE. I FEEL LIKE I'M DRIVING AROUND A LOADED UNPREDICTABLE GUN. THESE INCIDENTS HAPPENED ON THE FREEWAY GOING SOUTH I25 OF ALBUQUERQUE. THE OTHER HAPPENED ON BRIDGE AND ISLETA ABG 87105. DOWNTOWN AREA ALBUQUERQUE TWICE. FEE WAY I40 GOING EAST OF ALBUQUERQUE. I WILL BE INSTALLING A CAMERA TO MAKE SURE IT DOCUMENTED FOR FURTHER ACTION. BECAUSE IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN.
WHEN DRIVING IN SNOWY CONDITIONS, THE AIR INTAKE FILTER CLOGS WITH SNOW RESULTING IN AN IMMOBILIZING LOSS OF ENGINE POWER. WHEN DRIVING FROM COLORADO SPRINGS CO TO LAWRENCE KS IN MARCH 2019 WHILE IT WAS SNOWING, WE LOST POWER AND HAD TO STOP THREE TIMES TO CLEAR THE SNOW FROM THE AIR INTAKE FILTER BECAUSE THE ENGINE LOST POWER AND COULD NOT ASCEND THE RATHER GENTLE HILLS IN KANSAS ON INTERSTATE I-70. THIS CAUSES A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION FOR TWO REASONS. FIRST, THE VERY SLOW MOVING OR STALLED VEHICLE CAUSES A HAZARD FOR THE OTHER TRAFFIC IS TRAVELLING AT NORMAL HIGHWAY SPEEDS. SECONDLY, STOPPING ALONG THE HIGHWAY DURING SNOWY CONDITIONS TO CLEAR THE AIR FILTER PUTS THE OPERATOR OF THE STALLED CAR IN DANGER AS WELL. I HAVE DRIVEN MANY OTHER DIFFERENT VEHICLES IN SNOWY CONDITIONS AND HAVE NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM. I BELIEVE THE 2018 NISSAN ROGUE SPORT HAS A DESIGN FLAW THAT ALLOWS THE AIR INTAKE FILTER TO EASILY BECOME CLOGGED WITH SNOW. THE ROGUE SPORT FUNNELS THE INTAKE AIR DIRECTLY FROM THE GRILL, WHILE OTHER VEHICLES SEEM TO HAVE PLACED THE AIR INTAKE IN A MORE PROTECTED LOCATION IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 3810235, BUT DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BERTERA NISSAN (569 OXFORD ST S, AUBURN, MA 01501, (508) 832-9611) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FAILED AND THE VEHICLE NEEDED TO BE TEST DRIVEN. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE EMERGENCY BRAKE PEDAL WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE IT WAS WORN OUT BY WEAR AND TEAR. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ONE DAY AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 114.
PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN OCT 2018. IN FEB 2019 FOR NO REASON THE CAR BREAKED HARD WHILE DRIVING AT 65 MPH. ALARM WENT OFF AND LIGHT FLASHED IN THE DASH. NOTHING IN FRONT OF ME OR BESIDE ME. TOOK IT IN TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THE ICC/RADAR SYSTEM WAS NOT WORKING CORRECTLY. CODES C1A16-97 AND C1A18-54 WERE IN THE ICC MODULE. WAS TOLD THE ISSUE WAS FIXED. THEN THE OTHER DAY IT HAPPENED AGAIN. I WAS DRIVING AT ABOUT 60 MPH AND IT JUST BREAKED. NOTHING IN FRONT OF ME OR BESIDE ME. I HAVE ASKED NISSAN TO RETURN THE CAR BECAUSE I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING IT. THEY REFUSE SAYING THEY CAN FIX IT. GUESS THEY WILL FIX IT LIKE THEY DID LAST TIME.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED TO SHUT OFF THE SYSTEM WHEN APPROACHING THAT PORTION OF THE ROAD AND THEN TURN IT ON AGAIN AFTERWARDS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE ONLY OCCURRED ALONG THAT PORTION OF THE ROAD. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE DEALER OFFERED NO OTHER SUGGESTIONS FOR THE REPAIR AND DID NOT DIAGNOSE THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 32,000.
WHILE DRIVING ON A 4-LANE CITY STREET, THE VEHICLE JERKED (STOPPED, STARTED, STOPPED, STARTED) BY ITSELF WITH THE WARNING BUZZARD SOUNDING AS IF THE BRAKES WERE BEING PUMPED.. WE HAD JUST DRIVEN OVER A RAILROAD TRACK ABOUT 50 FEET BEHIND US WHEN THIS OCCURRED. THIS HAPPENED ROUGHLY 8 MONTHS AGO AND HAS NOT HAPPENED SINCE, THANKFULLY. WE HAD OWNED THE VEHICLE ONLY 3 MONTHS AT THE TIME, AND THOUGHT SOMETHING HAD TO TRIGGER THIS, KNOWING IT WAS NOT ME APPLYING THE BRAKES. I'VE DRIVEN OVER THESE SAME TRACKS HUNDREDS OF TIMES SINCE WITH NO INCIDENT. NEVER THOUGHT MORE OF THIS UNTIL THE NEWS BROKE OF THE PROBLEM.

I'VE HAD THE VEHICLE 3 MONTHS AND IT HAS HAPPENED 4 TIMES SO FAR. DEALER RAN SOFTWARE UPDATE, BUT DIDN'T CORRECT PROBLEM.
MY NISSAN ROGUE 2018 HAS AN ISSUE WITH THE FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE. I STARTED EXPERIENCING THIS PROBLEM AS SOON AS I BOUGHT IT IN MARCH 2018. AFTER THAT EPISODE I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER ON MARCH 30TH TO CHECK IT. THE RESULT WAS THAT THERE WAS NO ERROR CODE AND ALL WAS WORKING AS NORMAL. I TOOK THE CAR BACK AND THE SAME ISSUE HAPPENED FEW OTHER TIMES. WHEN PASSING THROUGH THAT SAME INTERSECTION THE SAME ISSUE HAPPENED MAYBE OTHER 5 TIMES. IT USUALLY HAPPENS IN INTERSECTIONS WHEN PASSING BELOW TRAFFIC LIGHTS. JUST 2 DAYS AGO ON THE 4TH IT HAPPENED INSIDE A GARAGE WHEN I WAS GOING AT 20 MPH. I AM SEEING A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ON THIS AND NISSAN IS NOT DOING ANYTHING. I LIKE THE CAR BUT I CANNOT KEEP IT WITH THIS DEFECT.

THIS VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH A FRONT RADAR SYSTEM WHICH WILL APPLY EMERGENCY BREAKING IF OBJECTS ARE SENSED TO BE IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE WHILE IT'S IN MOTION. ON JAN 29, 2019, MY VEHICLE ENGAGED EMERGENCY BRAKING WHILE I WAS CROSSING A RAILROAD CROSSING ON A ROUGH CITY STREET. THE VEHICLE BEGAN BEEPING, CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP, THE BRAKE PEDAL AUTOMATICALLY PRESSED ALL THE WAY DOWN, AND WOULD NOT DRIVE UNTIL I PRESSED THE BRAKE. THIS LEFT ME SITTING ON AN ACTIVE RAIL CROSSING WITH A VEHICLE COMING UP BEHIND ME. THIS SIMILAR SITUATION HAS HAPPENED TO ME SEVERAL OTHER TIMES WHILE CROSSING UNDER BRIDGES AND ENTERING PARKING GARAGES BUT IN THOSE CASES, ONLY LIGHT BRAKING OCCURRED AND I WAS ABLE TO PROCEED WITHOUT NEEDING TO PRESS THE BRAKE.
WHILE DRIVING MOUNTAIN ROADS GOING UP THE VEHICLE STOPPED WHEN TURNING ON A CURVE. THE CAR BEEPPED THEN PAUSED. NEXT DAY ON THE 26TH WHILE GOING UP THE MOUNTAIN THE VEHICLE DIDN'T BEEP BUT DID STOP WHILE DRIVING IN 3RD GEAR. CAR DIDN'T START GOING AGAIN UNTIL PUTTING CAR IN DRIVE AND PRESSING THE GAS.
TAKATA RECALL. I BROUGHT A BRAND NEW 2018 NISSAN ROGUE IN APRIL OF 2018. MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR ONLY HAS 9000 MILES ON IT. I TOOK IN TO THE DEALER AND THEY CLAIM THE LIGHT IS ON BECAUSE A RODENT CHEWED THE WIRES BELONGING TO THE HARNESS. AT 1ST I WAS GIVEN A LONER VEHICLE AND TOLD MY TRANSMISSION WAS HAVING PROBLEMS. ON FRIDAY I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY WERE VERY UNPROFESSIONAL FROM THE BEGINNING. NOW 4 DAYS LATER THEY TELL ME A MOUSE ATE MY WIRES AND THAT'S NOT SOMETHING THEY COVER FOR A HARNESS AND NOW THEY WANT TO REVERSE THE CHARGES FOR THE LOANER CAR MAKING IT A RENTAL. ALSO MY GAS GAUGE OFF AND ON DISPLAYS EMPTY AND THE CAR IS FULL OF GAS. MY CAR IS DRIVEN EVERYDAY THERE IS NO WAY A RODENT IF ANY TYPE WOULD EVEN EVER SURVIVE I'M MY CAR. THIS IS UTTERLY RIDICULOUS. NISSAN JUST DOES NOT WANT TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THEY TOLD ME IT'S NOT THERE PROBLEM IT'S A MACHINE AND THEY BREAK DOWN.
ICE SHIELD BUILD INSIDE ALL WINDOWS. THE ICE SHIELD WAS SO THICK THAT IT TOOK AN SCRAPER TO BREAK IT DOWN. I WAS IMPOSSIBLE TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE. THE NISSAN ROGUE HAS 1859 MILES. (NEW PURCHASED).
THE AEB (AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BREAKING) SYSTEM ON OUR 2018 NISSAN ROGUE MALFUNCTIONED, STOPPING OUR CAR ON THE ROADWAY FOR NO APPARENT REASON. THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO TRAFFIC ANYWHERE NEAR OUR VEHICLE WHICH WAS TRAVELING STRAIGHT ON A 4 LANE ROAD AT APPROX 40 MPH WHEN SUDDENLY THE VEHICLE MADE A LOUD GROAN SOUND, STARTED SHAKING, BRAKES ACTIVATED, LIGHT FLASHED ON DISPLAY PANEL AND BEEPING SOUNDS. THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH THE POTENTIAL TO CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY AND OR KILL PEOPLE. THE DEALER CLAIMS THEY FIXED IT BUT AFTER READING OTHER COMPLAINTS REGARDING RECURRENCE I HAVE NO CONFIDENCE WHATSOEVER IN THIS VEHICLE. WE NOW TURN THE AEB SYSTEM OFF EVERY TIME THE VEHICLE IS STARTED. THIS IS A LEASE CAR, 1 YEAR OLD WITH 9,300 MILES. PURCHASED NISSAN ROUGE NEW FROM DEALERSHIP. UPON ACCRUING 21,000 MILES VEHICLE STARTED SHAKING AND VIBRATING ALL OF A SUDDEN WHILE TRAVELING DOWN THE INTERSTATE. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP AND FOUND OUT AFTER INVESTIGATION THAT THERE IS FOAM INSIDE THE TIRE FROM MANUFACTURER, TO PREVENT ROAD NOISE, THAT HAD COME DISENGAGED FROM THE INNER TIRE WALL. I WAS UNAWARE OF FOAM BEING INSTALLED AT THE FACTORY INSIDE THE TIRES TO PREVENT ROAD NOISE. I WAS CHARGED BY THE DEALERSHIP TO FOR DIAGNOSTICS TO FIND OUT WHAT WAS WRONG WITH VEHICLE. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED UNDER WARRANTY FOR MANUFACTURE DEFECT. FURTHER MORE IT IS FALSE ADVERTISING THAT CONSUMERS DO NOT KNOW THAT THERE IS FOAM IN FACTORY TIRES TO PREVENT ROAD NOISE .

THE RADAR SENSOR IS LOCATED BEHIND THE FRONT GRILLE EMBLEM AND MAY BE BLOCKED DUE TO FROST BUILD UP. NISSAN CLAIMS THERE IS NO PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE, AND THERE IS NO FIX. HOW CAN A VEHICLE'S BRAKING SYSTEM BE UNAVAILABLE, YET THERE IS NO ISSUE? THE ISSUE SHOULD BE RECALLED. PERHAPS RELOCATE THE SENSOR. ALSO, IF IT IS IN FACT DUE TO A FROSTY EMBLEM, THEY SHOULD ADD A HEATED EMBLEM TO PREVENT THE BUILD UP.
