THE AUTOMATIC BREAKING SYSTEM KEEPS GLITCHING. NOTHING IS IN FRONT OF US AND IT BRAKES AND JERKS THE CAR TO THE SIDE. WE HAVE SERVICED THE CAR 3 TIMES FOR THIS ISSUE. THEY PROVIDED A SYSTEM UPDATE AND IT HAS HAPPENED OVER 4 TIMES SINCE THE NEW UPDATE. NISSAN SAID IT'S NORMAL AND COULD BE CAUSED BY 'RAIN , BUGS , 'AIR' ' AT THIS RATE. I'M SURE A FLY IS NOT SETTING OFF MY BRAKE SYSTEM WHILE GOING 70 MPH .. IT HAPPENS RANDOMLY. I'M TIRED OF BRAKING GOING 70. MY KIDS LIFE'S ARE MORE IMPORTANT THEN A SYSTEM UPDATE. NISSAN SAID THEY COULD SEE OUR CAR HAD ERROR CODES BUT SAID IT WAS NORMAL. THESE NEED TO BE RECALLED. THESE PHOTOS WERE DIFFERENT TIMES
MY NISSAN ROGUE HAS EXPERIENCED THE SAME ISSUE 3 TIMES IN A 2 MONTH PERIOD. 1ST TIME - DRIVING, CROSSING A BUSY INTERSECTION FRONT END SHUDDERED, SHOOK HEAVILY, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT TO LOCAL MECHANIC WHO RAN DIAGNOSTICS AND STATED THERE WERE TOO MANY CODES REGARDING THE ELECTRIC SYSTEM AND RECOMMENDED I TAKE IT TO DEALERSHIP. TOOK IT TO LOCAL DEALER, DIAGNOSTICS WERE RUN AGAIN, AND THEY REPORTED THEY WERE NOT SURE OF THE ISSUE, SUSPECTED DAMAGE TO THE MAF SENSOR (WHICH WAS THEN THROWING OFF THE REPORT OF ALL OTHER SENSORS). THEY REPLACED IT WITH NISSAN MANUFACTURED PART AND ELECTRIC TAPE AND I WAS TOLD IT WAS GOOD TO GO. 2ND TIME - STATIONARY MAKING A LEFT ONTO BUSY MAIN STREET, CAR SHUDDERED, STALLED, NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMPLETELY STOPPED. UNABLE TO DRIVE IT, WHEN CHANGING GEARS IT JUST COASTED BACKWARDS (DUE TO THE HILL I WAS ON). HAD IT TOWED TO THE SAME DEALER, TOLD THE SAME THING AS PREVIOUS VISIT 'NOT SURE WHAT'S WRONG, PROBABLY THE SENSOR,' WAS TOLD THEY REPLACED IT AGAIN WITH NISSAN MANUFACTURED PART AND 'TAPED UP REAL GOOD THIS TIME.' HOWEVER COULD NOT GUARANTEE IT WOULDN'T HAPPEN AGAIN, ALSO STILL NO IDEA WHAT EXACTLY CAUSED THE STALLING. 3RD TIME- DRIVING STRAIGHT AFTER BEING STOPPED AT RES LIGHT, CAR STALLS, ENGINE LIGHT BACK ON, AND UNABLE TO DRIVE IT. THE CAR COASTED TO THE NEAREST SHOULDER AND NOW WAITING FOR A TOW TRUCK TO TAKE ME TO A DIFFERENT DEALERSHIP, WHOM HOPEFULLY CAN FIX THE PROBLEM THAT CONTINUES TO HAPPEN.
VEHICLE IS EXPERIENCING A RANDOM AND REPETITIVE ENGAGEMENT OF THE AEB SYSTEM WITH NO APPARENT REASON FOR ACTIVATION. IN SOME INSTANCES, IT IS MERELY A WARNING AND OTHERS A FULL HARD BRAKING. THE PROBLEM FIRST OCCURRED DURING INITIAL DAY OF OWNERSHIP ON MARCH 13, 2018. DEALER STATED THAT NISSAN WAS AWARE OF SOME ISSUES AND WAS WORKING ON A SOLUTION. PROBLEM CONTINUED TO REOCCUR AND A SOFTWARE UPDATE (NTB 18-041A) WAS COMPLETED ON MARCH 1, 2019. THE UPDATE DID NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. ON AUGUST 20, 2019 VEHICLE WAS AGAIN BROUGHT IN AND DOCUMENTED THAT THE SYSTEM HAD FAILED SHOWING 'RADAR STAIN CODE C1A16'. A FORWARD EMERGENCY BRAKING SENSOR WAS TO BE ORDERED AS SOON AS THE NISSAN COMPUTER NETWORK WAS RESTORED TO SERVICE. DEALER CONTACTED ME WHEN PART CAME IN AND AN INSTALLATION APPOINTMENT WAS SET FOR AUGUST 27. WHEN I ARRIVED FOR THE INSTALL, SERVICE ADVISOR INFORMED ME THAT A 'SERVICE BULLETIN' HAD COME ON THAT MORNING RELATING TO THE AEB ISSUE AND REFUSED TO INSTALL THE MALFUNCTIONING PART. THE REASON GIVEN WAS THAT THE FIELD SERVICE ACTION (P9327 ROGUE AEB NTB19-064) REQUIRED A CURRENT STAIN CODE AND NONE HAD OCCURRED SINCE THE DIAGNOSIS A WEEK EARLIER. A COMPLAINT WAS MADE TO NISSAN (CASE # 36911652) ON THE AFTERNOON OF AUGUST 27. I RECEIVED A CALL FROM NISSAN THE FOLLOWING DAY STATING THAT THEY WOULD NOT REPLACE THE PART UNLESS ANOTHER FAILURE OCCURS. IN AN EFFORT TO UNDERSTAND THEIR RESPONSE I ASKED THEM ONE SIMPLE QUESTION: 'IF I UNDERSTAND YOU CORRECTLY, I HAVE TO EXPERIENCE ANOTHER INSTANCE THAT COULD RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT OR INJURY BEFORE THE SENSOR CAN BE INSTALLED?' NISSAN'S RESPONSE WAS SIMPLY YES.
2018 NISSSAN ROGUE. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO DEFECTIVE RADIO/NAVIGATION. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED WHILE DRIVING THE BRAKES ACTIVATED INDEPENDENTLY. *JS
MAINTENANCE-'OTHER' LIGHT COMES ON AFTER STARTING AUTO. SERVICE TECH 'DISCONNECTED' WARNING WITHOUT DETECTING WHAT WARNING WAS ABOUT. AUTO WAS IN FOR REGULAR SERVICE. SERVICE ADVISER WAS CONTACTED NEXT DAY WITH ZERO RETURN CALLS WITHIN TWO DAYS.
DRIVING 35 DOWN THE ROAD WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN MY EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM STARTING STOPPING MY VEHICLE ABRUPTLY ALARMS AND FLASHING LIGHTS GOING OFF. THERE WERE NO CARS IN FRONT OF ME. JUST OUT OF THE BLUE. MY VEHICLE ONLY HAS 6500 MILES ON IT. I WAS VERY FRIGHTENED. I CALLED NISSAN AND THEY DID NOT SEEM TO CONCERNED AND DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO TELL ME. THEY CAN GET ME IN TO LOOK AT IT IN 5 DAYS. IN THE MEAN TIME I AM FRIGHTENED TO DRIVE IT BUT HAVE NO CHOICE SINCE I WORK OUT OF STATE.
TAKATA RECALL 2 OCCASIONS VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION, ONCE 35+ MPH AND 40MPH. CAR LITERALLY STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD WITH MOVING TRAFFIC. DEALERSHIP CLAIMED IT WAS THE SENSOR THE FIRST TIME & SWITCHED IT. HAPPENED SECOND TIME TODAY & ALMOST CAUSED MULTIPLE FATAL WRECKS. BOTH TIMES ON BUSY ROADS & THIS TIME EXITING A BRIDGE INTO ON COMING TRAFFIC AND MULTIPLE LANES. I'M SCARED TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE. BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW. FIST COUPLE MONTHS HAD SENT VIDEO AND REPORTED ON 3 OCCASIONS WHERE THE RADIO SCREEN WAS ALSO DEFECTIVE AND THEY REPLACED IT. ON BOTH OCCASIONS THIS HAS BEEN TRAUMATIZING AND JUST LOOKING AT THE COMPUTER IS NOT ENOUGH! I PUT DOWN $8K AND TRADED IN A VEHICLE TO BUY MY FIRST NEW CAR, ONLY FOR IT TO BECOME A DEATH TRAP!
WHILE DRIVING ON FREEWAY, BRAKES INEXPLICABLY ENGAGE RESULTING IN RAPID AND DANGEROUS DECELERATION.

WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING FEATURE ENGAGED AS AN ABNORMAL BEEPING NOISE WAS HEARD AND THE EMERGENCY BRAKING WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE STOPPED AS A RESULT THE CONTACT WAS REAR ENDED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE WAS SORE AND SOUGHT MEDICAL ATTENTION FROM A CHIROPRACTOR. THE CONTACT WAS UNAWARE IF THE OTHER DRIVER SOUGHT MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE OFFICER WAS ON THE SCENE BUT IT WAS NOT DETERMINED IF A REPORT WAS FILED. THE DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE FAILURE HAS NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 20,000. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE WAS UNCOMFORTABLE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. *DT *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 NISSAN ROGUE. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, AN ABNORMAL GRINDING NOISE WAS HEARD WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKES ENGAGED FOR APPROXIMATELY THREE SECONDS AND RETURNED TO NORMAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO NEWTON NISSAN SOUTH (2801 US HIGHWAY 231 NORTH, SHELBYVILLE, TN 37160, (931) 536-3118) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE CONTACT WAS UNAWARE OF WHAT WAS REPLACED. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVEN ADDITIONAL TIMES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 38022881. THE MANUFACTURER OPENED AN INVESTIGATION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 2,000.
WHILE DRIVING, THE CAR SUDDENLY STOPPED WITHOUT ME BRAKING. IT JUST AUTOMATICALLY STOPPED. A WARNING SYMBOL FLASHED QUICKLY ON MY DASH THEN THE CA CAME TO A SUDDEN HALT. THIS WAS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS, ALTHOUGH I WAS ONLY GOING. 20 MPH.
THE CAR STOPS WHILE ACCELERATING EVEN THOUGH NO CAR IN FRONT OR BACK. THERE WAS A BEEPING SOUND. IT ALREADY HAPPENED TWICE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 NISSAN ROGUE. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE FORWARD COLLISION SENSOR SUDDENLY ACTIVATED ALTHOUGH THERE WERE NO VEHICLES NEARBY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PASSPORT NISSAN (5000 AUTH WAY, CAMP SPRINGS, MD 20746, 301-423-8400) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FORWARD COLLISION SENSOR FAILED. THE SENSOR WAS RESET, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 36461096. NISSAN STATED THAT IT WOULD BE A FOUR WEEK WAIT FOR AN INSPECTOR TO DIAGNOSE THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,472.
WHILE DRIVING YESTERDAY, MY VEHICLE CAME TO A SCREECHING STOP WITH ANY WARNING. THERE WERE NO OTHER CARS ON THE ROAD NEAR ME, NO DEBRIS, NOTHING WHICH SHOULD HAVE CAUSED THIS. I WAS ABLE TO QUICKLY GET TO THE BREAKDOWN LANE AND BREATHE WHILE TRYING TO UNDERSTAND WHAT JUST HAPPENED. MY 2 CHILDREN AND I SAT THERE STUNNED AND SCARED. THANKFULLY BECAUSE NO OTHER CARS WERE AROUND WE AVOIDED A POTENTIAL ACCIDENT. I HAD NO IDEA WHAT CAUSED THE SUDDEN STOP. I PULLED OUT MY CAR MANUAL AND DISCOVERED IT WAS A "SAFETY FEATURE" AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BREAKING. I DONT THINK IT'S A SAFETY FEATURE IF IT ALMOST CAUSES AN ACCIDENT.
2018 NISSAN ROGUES AUTOMATIC BRAKING FEATURE ENGAGES WITHOUT WARNING UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS WITH NO THREAT OF EMERGENCY. AUTOMATIC BRAKING HAS BROUGHT THE CAR TO A FULL STOP AT OVER 30MPH CREATING A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN. CURRENTLY THE SENSOR AT FAULT IS ONLY BEING REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY AT 2K$. THE CONDITION HAS HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY AT HIGHWAY SPEED, ON HEAVY INCLINES, AND CAN BE REPLICATED IN PARKING GARAGES WITH HEAVY SLOPE. I CAN RECREATE THIS ISSUE WITH PARKING GARAGE INCLINES AT ANY SPEED AND HAVE VIDEO DOCUMENTATION
MY EMERGENCY BRAKES WILL AUTOMATICALLY COME ON AND SEEM TO BE HAVING A DIGITAL ISSUE.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WERE NO OTHER VEHICLES IN CLOSE PROXIMITY AT THE TIME OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 11,485. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
THERE IS SEPARATION (GAP) OCCURRING BETWEEN THE FRONT BUMPER COVER AND FENDERS ON BOTH SIDES OF THE VEHICLE. THERE IS ALSO SEPARATION (GAP) OCCURRING BETWEEN THE REAR BUMPER COVER AND QUARTER PANELS. THIS IS NOT NORMAL FOR A BRAND NEW VEHICLE AS I PURCHASED IT NEW. THE MAJOR CONCERN IS THAT WHETHER THE PANELS WILL SEPARATE WHILE DRIVING AND CAUSE A MAJOR ACCIDENT THAT COULD RESULT IN INJURIES TO OCCUPANTS OF MY VEHICLE OR OTHERS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP OF PURCHASE AND THEY REPAIRED ONLY THE LEFT FRONT SIDE SO I AM NOT SATISFIED AS I CAN STILL SEE THE GAPS. THERE SHOULD NOT BE ANY GAPS BETWEEN THE PANELS AT ALL. IT IS STRESSFUL HAVING TO DRIVE A VEHICLE WHILE WORRYING ABOUT IF SOMETHING COULD HAPPEN. I HAVE CONTACTED NISSAN USA ABOUT THE ISSUE. NOT SURE EXACTLY WHEN THE GAP STARTED BUT NOTICED IT AROUND 08/01/2019. THE VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN IN ACCIDENT OR ANYTHING.
THE VEHICLE FRONT EMERGENCY BRAKING ACTIVATES WHEN NOT REQUIRED CREATING A CLEAR AND EMINENT DANGER TO THE DRIVER, PASSENGER AND ANY VEHICLES IN THE VICINITY. THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP UPDATED THE SOFTWARE ON 7/25/2019 BUT IT IS STILL OCCURING AS OF 7/29/2019. THIS EVEN OCCURS AT HIGHWAY SPEED, WITH NO OBSTRUCTIONS AND CLEAR VISIBILITY.
COLLISION AVOIDANCE SYSTEM ACTIVATED WITHOUT CAUSE RESULTING IN VEHICLE SUDDENLY STOPPING ON ROADWAY.
WHEN DRIVING THE CAR THE AEB SYSTEM WILL SUDDENLY ENGAGE AND FORCE THE CAR TO BRAKE. IT HAPPENS MOSTLY IN PARKING GARAGES BUT JUST HAPPENED WHEN MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING ON A BUSY INTERSTATE (I-684) AND SHE ALMOST GO INTO A MAJOR ACCIDENT. I BROUGHT THE CAR INTO NISSAN FOR THE SOFTWARE UPDATE THAT WAS SUGGESTED BY NISSAN. HOWEVER THE ISSUE IS STILL OCCURRING. THE CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE.
WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE AUTOMATIC BRAKE SENSOR CAME ON AND ALL WHEELS LOCKED UP ALMOST CAUSING SOMEONE TO REAREND ME NOW I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS CAR HAS HAPPENS TO MY HUSBAND WHILE DRIVING ALSO NISSAN IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND SAYS THEY CAN'T FIX IT. THERE IS NO RECALL. THERE IS A BULLETIN TELLING THE MECHANIC TO REBOOT THE SENSOR. SO IT CAN HAPPEN AGAIN WITHOUT NO WARNINGS!! I WAS ON A CITY STREET. NOT ONLY ARE MY CHILDREN AND I IN DANGER!! IT'S ALL THE PEOPLE THAT ARE DRIVING!!
THE AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKES ACTIVATED MULTIPLE TIMES WHEN THERE WAS CLEARLY NO OBSTRUCTION IN MY DRIVE PATH TO WARRANT AN EMERGENCY STOP.
THE DRIVERS SEAT GETS HOT WITHOUT TURNING ON THE HEATED SEATS ALSO ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE IT GETS EXTREMLY HOT TOOK IT TO ROCKING NISSAN ON 2 OCCASIONS AND EACH TIME NOTHING CHANGED
AEB RANDOMLY ENGAGES WHEN THERE IS NO REASON TO. NO OTHER VEHICLES IN FRONT OF VEHICLE. VEHICLE HAS HAD THIS OCCUR AS SLOW AS 25MPH ON LOCAL ROADWAYS AND ON FREEWAYS GOING 45MPH. NO CLEAR/OBVIOUS TRIGGER FOR WHEN IT ENGAGES IMPROPERLY. AT LEAST A HALF DOZEN TIMES SINCE OWNERSHIP BEGAN SEPT 2018. RECENTLY 3 TIMES WITHIN LAST MONTH. RECEIVED MAILING FROM NISSAN IN FEBRUARY 2019. DEALERSHIP KEPT MAILING WHEN BROUGHT IN VEHICLE IN FEBRUARY. DIDN'T HAVE SENSOR TO REPLACE ON VEHICLE.
TRANSMISSION WENT OUT AT 46,000 MILES WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT
I WAS DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH WHEN MY VEHICLE'S AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM ENGAGED. THERE WAS NO APPARENT OBSTRUCTION WHICH WOULD HAVE CAUSED THE AEB SYSTEM TO ENGAGE. I'VE OWNED THE VEHICLE FOR EXACTLY 1 WEEK AND THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE. BOTH TIMES, THE SYSTEM ENGAGED FOR APPROX 2-3 SECONDS AND THEN MY CAR RETURNED TO NORMAL DRIVING. WHILE IT DID NOT BRING ME TO A FULL STOP, IT DID SLOW ME DOWN AND CREATED FEAR, DISTRACTION AND A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE ALL WHILE ACTIVELY DRIVING WITH MY TODDLER IN THE VEHICLE.
VEHICLE IS AUTOMATICALLY BRAKING EVEN WHEN THERE ARE NO OTHER VEHICLES OR OBSTACLES NEAR BY. TWO TIMES SINCE BUYING MY NISSAN IN APRIL MY CAR HAS BRAKED TO A HARD STOP WHILE I WAS DRIVING AT SPEED OF 35MPH OR MORE (ONCE ON CITY ROADS AND ONCE ON HIGHWAY) FOR NO REASON. THIS COULD HAVE RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT HAD OTHER CARS BEEN BEHIND ME. I HAD EVEN DISABLED THE AUTO BRAKING FEATURE AFTER THE FIRST TIME HOPING TO AVOID THE ISSUE REOCCURRING. UNFORTUNATELY THAT DID NOT WORK .
I WAS TRAVELING AT ABOUT 35-40 MPH ON A CITY STREET WHEN THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STOPPED, AND THERE WAS A LOUD NOISE AROUND THE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL.
2 OCCURANCES, THE AEBS SYSTEM ENGAGED/DECELLERATED WHILE TRAVELING 35 MPH WITH NO VEHICLES ON EITHER SIDE OF THE ROADWAY-WARNING ON THE DISPLAY WERE ACTIVATED. THIS OCURRED ON A CITY STREET. 2ND EVENT - OCURRED ON A CITY STREET WHILE I WAS ALREADY SLOWING FOR A VEHICLE STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT AT AN INTERSECTION MORE 4 CAR LENGTHS AHEAD. THE AEBS ENGAGED, CLEARLY SENSING THE ABS SYSTEM WAS ENGAGED, THE BRAKE PEDAL BECAME UNRESPONSIVE AS IF THE ENGINE WAS OFF. TRAVELING 15 MPH WHEN THIS BEGAN. THE VEHICLE AHEAD OF ME WAS STRUCK, THE BRAKE PEDAL STILL UNRESPONSIVE CAUSED A SECOND CONTACT WITH THE VEHICLE WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STILL IN ABS MODE. THE BRAKES WERE NOT PUMPED DURING THIS ENTIRE INCIDENT. NO INJURIES, BUT CONSIDERABLE DAMAGE TO VEHICLE #1.
I EXPERIENCED UNWARRANTED BRAKE ASSIST WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. THERE WERE NO VEHICLES AROUND ME AND IT WAS QUITE FRANKLY VERY DISTURBING. THIS ISSUE HAS NOT HAPPENED A SINGLE TIME DURING OWNERSHIP OF THE VEHICLW
FOR SOME TIME, VEHICLE HAS BEEN DISPLAYING WARNING LIGHTS, BEEPING, AND BRAKING WHEN NO OBSTACLES, WHILE IN MOTION, ARE AROUND BECAUSE OF THE AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM MALFUNCTION. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP A MONTH AGO TO HAVE THE UPDATE PERFORMED BASED ON INFORMATION RECEIVED IN THE MAIL. ONE MONTH LATER, AFTER THE UPDATE WAS PERFORMED, VEHICLE CONTINUES TO BEEP, FLASH WARNING, AND BRAKE WHILE I AM PRESSING THE GAS AND IN MOTION ON THE ROAD GOING 45 MPH, CAUSING A SCRAPING SOUND AND THEN GOING OFF. PROBLEM WAS SUPPOSED TO BE FIXED AFTER UPDATE PERFORMED ON 6/8/19, BUT IS STILL OCCURRING.
THIS IS THE SECOND COMPLAINT ON THIS PROBLEM BUT THE FIRST AFTER THE CAR WAS WORKED ON AT THE DEALER. AFTER APPROXIMATELY 50-55 MINUTES OF CONTINUOUS OPERATION THE EMERGENCY BRAKES ACTIVATED AS PART OF THE COLLISION AVOIDANCE FEATURE. THERE WAS NO DANGER OF IMPACT AND SPEED WAS ABOUT 20-30MPH ON A CITY STREET. THE BRAKING WAS NOT HARD BUT MORE LIKE ABS ENGAGEMENT OR CROSSING A "CATTLE GUARD". IT LASTED FOR LESS THAN 5 SECONDS. NO DETAILING WARNING WAS GIVEN AND THE COLLISION AVOIDANCE ICON DID NOT LIGHT. ONLY ONE OCCURRENCE DURING THIS DRIVE OF APPROXIMATELY 75 MINUTES. UPON THE RETURN TRIP, AGAIN AFTER APPROXIMATELY 50-55 MINUTES OF CONTINUOUS DRIVING THE SAME BRAKING OCCURRED ONLY THIS TIME AT HIGHWAY SPEED 60-65 MPH. IT DID NOT REOCCUR FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE TRIP, APPROXIMATE TOTAL TRIP TIME OF 75-80 MINUTES. WILL BE RETURNING THIS VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR ANOTHER EVALUATION BUT UNSURE IF IN THE FUTURE THIS VEHICLE MIGHT SUDDENLY STOP, ACTIVATING AIR BAGS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS.
ON THE FREEWAY THE BRAKES INEXPLICABLY ENGAGE FORCING THE ROGUE INTO A HARD AND DANGEROUS DECELERATION.
MY 2018 NISSAN ROGUE ACTIVATES THE AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING ( AEB) ON IT'S OWN. IT HAS OCCURRED FIVE OR SIX TIMES, TWICE WHILE CROSSING RR TRACKS. ONE OF THESE INSTANCES HAPPENED WHILE TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH AND THE DODGE TRUCK BEHIND US VERY NEAR REAR ENDED US. THE OTHER AEB ACTIVATIONS WERE ON LEVEL ROAD AT NORMAL DRIVING SPEEDS. THE BRAKES JUST ACTIVATE AND BRING THE VEHICLE TO A NEAR STOP. HOPEFULLY THIS CAN BE RESOLVED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 NISSAN ROGUE. WHILE THE CONTACT'S DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING 35 MPH, THE AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKE SYSTEM ENGAGED ON ITS OWN. THE FRONT PASSENGER UNLATCHED HIS SEAT BELT TO REACH INTO THE REAR SEAT AT THE TIME OF THE FAILURE, THUS STRIKING HIS HEAD ON THE WINDSHIELD. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS NOT RECEIVED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,000. *TR*JB
THE AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM ENGAGED ON JULY 6 2108. THERE WAS NOT AN OBSTRUCTION IN THE ROAD ON THIS CITY STREET. WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT DOWN THE ROAD, THE CAR MADE A NOISE, THE DASHBOARD FLASHED, THE CAR SHUDDERED AND CAME TO A VERY QUICK, ALMOST IMMEDIATE STOP. THE VEHICLE RESUMED WORKING AS NORMAL WHEN I APPLIED PRESSURE TO THE GAS PEDAL AFTER THE STOP. THERE WERE NO OTHER CARS ON THE ROAD AT THE TIME. THE ROAD HAD SOME LARGE PATCHES ON THE ASPHALT. THE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING ~25 MPH WHEN THIS OCCURRED.
SPARATIC FORWARD EMERGENCY BRAKING LIGHT ON WHILE DRIVING AND NO OTHER VEHICLES AROUND. ALSO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT : STATING OXYGEN SENSOR NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. CAR WAS BOUGHT NEW. IT IS UNDER WARRANTY AND DEALERSHIP IS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE AND CORRECTLY FIX.
ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS (7/5/2019 & 7/15/2019) THE CAR ENGAGED ITS AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM (ALERTED AND BRAKED TO A STOP SUDDENLY) WHILE IN MOTION FOR NO APPARENT REASON. BOTH EVENTS HAPPENED IN THE SAME LOCATION (ON A HIGHWAY UNDER AN OVERPASS BRIDGE) WITH NO CARS OR OTHER OBSTRUCTIONS IN THE PATH OF THE VEHICLE.
CAR BRAKED FOR NO APPARENT REASON. THERE WAS NO CAR IN FRONT OR BACK OF ME AND MY VEHICLE JUST SUDDENLY BRAKED. HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY IN BROOKLYN, NY ON THE BROOKLYN QUEENS EXPRESSWAY. DATE OF OCCURANCE IS JULY 4TH 2019.
FORWARD EMERGENCY BRAKING LIGHT SPORADICALLY COMING ON WHILE DRIVING. CAR HAS BEEN TAKEN TO NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND HAS NOT BEEN PROPERLY DIAGNOSED OR PROPERLY REPAIRED. CAR HAS ALSO THROWN CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAUSING THE OXYGEN SENSOR TO BE REPLACED. LOST TRUST IN RELIABILITY, SECURITY AND DEPENDABILITY OF MY NEW VEHICLE. NISSAN DOES NOT APPEAR TO COMPETENT ENOUGH TO FIX MY SUV.
ON THE DATE LISTED BELOW, 7/2/2019, AND TWO OTHER TIMES AFTER, THE BRAKES RANDOMLY AND SUDDENLY ACTIVATED. THE FIRST TIME WAS AT NORMAL SPEED, 30-35 MPH ON A CITY STREET. THE SECOND WAS AT LOW SPEED IN A PARKING GARAGE. THE THIRD WAS AGAIN ON A CITY STREET. EACH TIME THE CAR WAS MOVING FORWARD, NO OTHER VEHICLES WERE IN CLOSE PROXIMITY, AND A SUDDEN BEEPING OCCURRED AT THE SAME TIME THE BRAKES ENGAGED. EACH TIME IT WAS BRIEF, AND FORTUNATELY THE CAR WAS ABLE TO BE CONTROLLED, BUT IF IT HAPPENS AT HIGHWAY SPEED THE RESULT COULD BE CATASTROPHIC. EVEN AT LOW SPEED, AN ACCIDENT COULD OCCUR.
AEB SYSTEM RANDOMLY ALERTS OR ENGAGES WHILE DRIVING EVEN WITH NO OBSTRUCTIONS. ERROR SAYS "UNAVAILABLE FRONT RADAR DUE TO OBSTRUCTIONS" NO OBSTRUCTIONS ARE VISIBLE ON ROAD. OCCURS WHILE DRIVING 10-20MPH OR 50+ ON HIGHWAY. SECOND COMPLAINT, INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM RANDOMLY RESTARTS/REBOOTS ON ITS OWN DURING THE DAY.
WHILE DRIVING ON A SUNNY DAY ON A CITY STREET MY CAR SUDDENLY SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES WHILE DRIVING UNDER A HIGHWAY OVERPASS. IT DID THIS ON IT'S OWN IN CLEAR WEATHER WHILE IN MOTION. IT APPEARED THE CAR REACTED ON IT'S OWN TO THE SHADOW OF THE HIGHWAY I WAS ABOUT TO DRIVE UNDER. THERE WAS NO CAR IN FRONT OF ME AND I IN FACT WAS ABOUT TO ACCELERATE TO MAKE A LEFT TURN AFTER GOING UNDER THE OVERPASS. THE CAR BRAKES SUDDENLY WHEN GOING INTO THE SHADOW OF THE OVERPASS. IT STARTLED ME AND MY AUTOMATIC REACTION WAS TO SWITCH MY FOOT TO THE BRAKE AND WHEN I DID I COULD FEEL THE BRAKE WAS ALREADY DEPRESSED ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. THE CAR BRIEFLY STOPPED AND THEN THE BRAKE LET UP AND I THEN COULD CONTINUE DRIVING A COUPLE SECONDS LATER. IT WAS SCARY AND DANGEROUS. SOMEONE COULD'VE BEEN BEHIND ME AND HIT ME. I WAS RATTLED FOR 30 MINUTES AFTERWARD. I AM UNSURE OF THE EXACT DATE THIS OCCURRED BUT I GAVE THE BEST ESTIMATE I COULD DOWN BELOW.
MY CAR WOULD DISRUPTIVELY BREAK IN ITS OWN, WHEN I FIRST BOUGHT THIS CAR , THE SAFETY SYSTEM BREAK LIGHT STAYED ON, ST THE TIME I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT THAT WAS NOR DID ANYBODY WAS ABLE TO EXPLAIN, I TOOK IT IN TO FIND OUT THERE WAS DAMAGE WIRES AND ELECTRICAL ISSUES AND. DEAD RAT, THE BRAKES ALSO SQUEAKED UNUSUALLY AT TIMES, THEY ALSO MENTIONED THIS WAS NORMAL AND BRAKES WERE NEW, WITH A LOT OF COMPLAINTS AND MIS INFORMED INFORMATION I ENDED UP BEING STUCK BUYING THIS CAR, I WOULD CONSIDER THIS A LEMON ISSUE BUT THE HEAD DEPARTMENT OF ENTERPRISE WHERE I BOUGHT THE CAR TOOK CAR AND REINSURED UIT WAS ALL GOOD TO GO AND FIXED , I ALSO BOUGHT EXTRA WARRANTY, BUT SHORTLY AFTER DOWN THE ROAD I HAVE HAD UNUSUAL EXPERIENCES WITH MY CAR BRAKING IN TRAFFIC AND THEN RELEASING VERY DISRUPTIVELY WHICH HAD EVEN CAUSED ME TO LOSE HANDLE ALONG WITH MY NEW BORN, VARIOUS OF TIMES I HAD CONCERNS U TIL ONE DAY I WAS SLOWING DOWN AT A LIGHT THE CAR BRAKES VERY DISRUPTIVELY THE CAR BEHIND ME A MOTHER IN HER PRIUS WITH HER TWO CHILDREN SLAMMED INTO MY CAR , THIS BRAKE SYSTEM IS NOT SAFE. AS A RESULT, ALL FOUR WHEELS SEIZED AND THE VEHICLE VEERED TO THE LEFT. AN UNKNOWN WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT WAITED FOR A FEW SECONDS AND THE WARNING INDICATORS WENT AWAY. THE CONTACT CONTINUED DRIVING TO HER DESTINATION. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED ONE OTHER TIME WHILE DRIVING IN THE CITY. BANISTER NISSAN OF CHESAPEAKE (930 N BATTLEFIELD BLVD, CHESAPEAKE, VA 23320) WAS CONTACTED BY PHONE AND A DIAGNOSTIC APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED FOR JULY 1, 2019. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 28,000.
AS I WAS DRIVING BACK TO HOME IN ORANGE COUNTY, CA, ON 6/27/2019 AT AROUND 8 P.M., I OPENED THE GARAGE DOOR A COUPLE OF GARAGE-DOORS DOWN AND AS I WAS SLOWING THE CAR DOWN TO TURN AND ENTER THE GARAGE, THE BRAKES DID NOT WORK, AND THE CAR SPED UP INSTEAD. I TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE RIGHT TO BRAKE THE SPEED OF THE CAR AND TO AVOID A HEAD-ON COLLISION WITH THE GARAGE'S FRONT WALL. THE AIR BAGS GOT DEPLOYED AND I GOT BADLY BRUISED. MY RIGHT FOOT'S RIGHT ANKLE ALSO HIT A METAL ON THE RIGHT (MOST PROBABLY GAS PEDAL AS IT WAS ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF MY FOOT) AS I TURNED THE CAR TO THE RIGHT. AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING (AEB) IS STANDARD ON ROGUE/ROGUE SPORT MODEL YEAR 2018, AMONG OTHER NISSAN MODELS. HOWEVER, NOT ONLY THE BRAKES OF THE VEHICLE FAILED ON ME BUT ALSO AEB SYSTEM DID NOT KICK IN TO AVOID THE COLLISION. IT WAS ENTERPRISE RENTAL CAR. THEY NEXT MORNING IT WAS TOWED TO THEIR LOCATION IN LAKE FOREST, OC. THEY ARE WORKING WITH ME TO GET TO THE BOTTOM OF THIS MATTER. MY HOPE IS THEY WILL TAKE THE RIGHT AND CONSCIENTIOUS APPROACH TO THE MATTER TO AVOID MORE SERIOUS ACCIDENT AND GRAVER CONSEQUENCES IN THE FUTURE. I PURCHASED THE 2018 ROGUE APRIL 27, 2019. ON JUNE 24, 2019 AS I APPROACHED A GREEN TRAFFIC LIGHT, WARNING LIGHTS AND ALARMS WENT OFF IN THE CAR. I COULD NOT FIGURE OUT WHY AS THERE WERE NO OBSTRUCTIONS, THE SUDDENLY THE CAR CAME TO A SCREECHING STOP. I WAS OF COURSE TERRIFIED. THE CAR RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION AFTER ABOUT 30 SECONDS.
