In this scenario, the fuel pump failed or malfunctioned, causing the engine to sputter and putting my safety and others at risk. The problem has been confirmed by an independent service center and the vehicle has been inspected by code. If requested, the fuel pump is available for inspection. Prior to the failure, a warning lamp in the form of a check engine light appeared, indicating a problem with the fuel system. I promptly addressed my issues to Nissan to prevent potentially dangerous situations on the road.
Started noticing the difference with the vehicle around 7,000 miles while driving at different speeds traveling to and from work. it did get worse over time and at 17,000 miles it was at the dealer and they stated that no issues were found or present. Vehicle will have excessive sway / bounce and will dip to one side depending what imperfections you will drive over during the trip. I have no idea how they test the vehicles at the dealer as there is an issue with it when stated to the personnel but at the end it seems to be nothing wrong. Does it take an accident to happen with severe injuries nowadays to have them take something serious. As a service technician my self by bouncing the rear bumper downwards it seems very bouncy, indicating bad shocks. If dealer's technician cant seem to see this then i have no words beyond the quality of service people get once they purchase the vehicles.
The car seems to keep slipping into neutral while I am driving. If it’s right when pulling away, It shows the drive light is lit up, I am able to accelerate a little bit, and then I suddenly hear the loud rev of the engine, like when it’s in neutral. And I have to shift it into drive again(all while the light never appeared in neutral, it remained in drive) It’s also happened while already driving. I might stop at a light or stop sign, and when I go to accelerate again to drive away, it will make that same sound and I have to push it back into drive, and the light will remain in drive the whole time. I just purchased this vehicle, used. And it’s starting to make me feel very unsafe on the roads.
The contact owns a 2021 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving 30 MPH and depressing the accelerator pedal, the accelerator pedal became stuck between the floor mat. After several minutes the vehicle operated as needed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 28,511.
The fuel door cover flew off the 2021 Nissan Rogue while traveling the speed limit on I-71S between Columbus, OH and Cincinnati, OH. Prior to leaving my residence I verified that all doors and covers were secure. 3 hours into my drive on I-71 every safety warning lit up and sounded on the car, the cruise control disengaged, and in my mirrors I watched the fuel door cover skin land on the pavement and be destroyed by the semi that was behind me. Speed 75. I was in the middle lane caught in the wash of air coming from semis travelling beside me and in front of me. I contacted Nissan USA and they say they have not heard of anything. I spoke with the dealership and they just blew it off. This could be a serious issue if these trim panels come off the vehicles and cause an accident.
May 1st, 2023 at approx. 3:30pm There were NO warning lights or messages of ANY kind received. No warning given by mail or phone call from selling agent that was issued March 12th, 2021. Was driving on interstate going south headed home after work. Approx 15 mi from home when smoke starting coming into the vehicle & from under the hood. Traveling in fast lane, appox 70mph in heavy traffic. Tried to pull over to see what the problem was but traffic wouldn't allow it, & I could not get to side of road & missed the next exit. So I proceeded to next rest area that I knew was less than a mile on my side. When there is smoke you usually find fire! As I entered the exit ramp to rest area I passed out from smoke inhalation. SUV continued traveling straight ahead at approx 55 mph & hit parked 18 wheeler tractor-trailer, I bounced off it, circled around & ended up facing West. I was still unconscious, truck driver & security guard pulled me from my suv. Just as they did the vehicle exploded into flames. Nothing left of vehicle. Rescuers could not see if any other passengers were in car because the black smoke was so thick & flames were shooting from under hood. Transported via ambulance to regional trauma & burn center to critical care ICU. There they did full test to check for stroke, heart, or other problems but I was in great health. I did have 4 broken ribs on left, cut in top of skull that took 8 staples, stitches in right eyebrow, damaged forehead, & various 1st, 2nd, & 3rd degree burns on my face, neck, right ear, left forearm, & both hands burned sufficiently! My shirt MELTED. SUV definitely had a problem that I was NOT aware of, for it to just start smoking, driving down the road. Purchased 3-7-23 from Hertz Car Sales. Only had SUV for 79 days/ 2 months! Loved the vehicle but it almost killed me! Thanks forever to my guardian Angel that saved my life! This model SUV must be recalled to save lives in the future & repair such a dangerous issue!
Moonroof exploded while driving 70 mph on highway today. Huge explosion then a shatter. Shards of glass were on my dog in the back seat and flew up front where I was driving.
The contact rented a 2021 Nissan Rogue. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V093000 (Electrical System) and would like to be removed from the recall distribution list. The local dealer and manufacturer were not contacted.
The contact owns a 2021 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving at approximately 55 MPH, the vehicle experienced phantom braking. The contact veered over to the side of the road and turned off and restarted the vehicle. The contact stated that on two other occasions the failure occurred, and the vehicle was turned off and restarted and operated as needed without further issues. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the dealer reported that no failure was found. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 39,000.
The car belong to my father. This is the third incident. While he was going out of his property in reverse about 5 miles by hours the car sudently turn off itself making imposible to control the vehicle in any way , no wheel control , no brakes and almost kill his neighbors.
I was driving on I-5 (nighttime) when the engine suddenly lost all power. I was able to pull over to the shoulder, but it was dangerous. The dash displayed something along the lines of: Engine malfunction power decrease
Battery was down when we tried to start . After charging the battery to start Rogue and take to dealer the dash display did not work so wile was driving blind !
The contact owns a 2021 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start, causing the contact to jumpstart the vehicle. The contact had the vehicle towed to the dealer who stated that the alternator had failed. The vehicle had not been repaired. The contact stated that while reversing out of the driveway, the brakes erroneously activated, and vehicle independently stopped. The contact stated that the taillights would blink, and the radio would turn on independently. There were no warning lights. The contact took the vehicle to another dealer who diagnosed that there was an engine wiring harness that had been damaged by water, corrosion, and partly melted. The wiring harnesses needed to be replaced. The dealer informed the contact of the failure was also related to NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 21V957000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) and 21V068000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made of the failure and confirmed that the VIN was not included. The approximate failure mileage was 63,000.
I have had a recurring problem with the battery draining with my 2021 Nissan Rogue, which I bought brand new in 2021, although the headlight dial is set to "Auto" and no interior lights were engaged. This is also despite the vehicle having only 8,600 miles on it. I have had the vehicle checked for its 5K/10K mile maintenance, each time it was given a clean bill of health. In the last three months, I had to call a towing service to help get my car started twice and each time the towing service determined the battery was drained. When I took it to the dealership, on both times they said the battery was fine. On both occasions, once the battery was charged, the dashboard gave a headlight error. The dealership said that error was cleared and said "it was probably just the battery." For the second incidence, the dashboard gave an error about the ABS system, despite having been checked for regular maintenance at the dealership just 4 days before and being given a clean bill of health. Again, the Service Adviser said that it was probably just the battery. I took a picture of the towing service’s diagnostic tool which indicated the battery health was at 4% and that it was fully drained, and was “bad and needs to be replaced.” Once the vehicle was checked at the dealership, the Service Adviser informed me that because no error was given by their diagnostic computer, they could not replace the battery for free because "we would be out $250" and that I had to contact Nissan directly for help. I asked if their diagnostic computer would even be calibrated to detect whatever error was leading to what he described as "I have seen issues with the batteries with these cars, the batteries for these cars are different.” Given the dangerous weather we had this year, where many people have died because they were trapped in their vehicles that were unpowered, this is a clear safety issue, what if the battery dies again while I am on the road and away from immediate help?
I purchased this vehicle new and started having issues with it at 3,000 miles. The screen freezes or just stops working, the HVAC system blows out 2 totally different temps even though it's "Synced" on the same temp. My blind spot warning is malfunctioning, the rear camera has stopped working and the rear tailgate fills with water, I was told I would need a whole new tailgate to fix that, I supposedly had the retractors replaced in my seatbelts and those still do not retract. The car has slammed on the brakes on the highway for no reason causing a burn on my neck, supposedly that recall was performed but I dont think it was. I have also caught Gandrud Nissan in an act of fraud once already regarding my vehicle being there for an entire week and them trying to say it was never there, and I believe they never performed these recalls or fixes, otherwise my seatbelts should work and my cameras would be working. This vehicle has given me nothing but issues since I bought it. I have video and paperwork to back this all up. When I asked to speak with the owner of Gandrud Nissan who has done all the work on my vehicle while under warranty, he refuses to call me back. I would like an investigation done to see if these parts have been replaced and the recall work was actually performed, I do not want Nissan notified until after another party has checked to see if the work was done.
Randomly I get malfunction light, check engine light, caution light and and low power lights that flash and beep in the car. It affects the pressure I need to use when pressing down on the gas pedal. It requires more pressure and does not let me surpass a certain mph (I have only gone 40mph when this has appeared). It will randomly shut off and turn on. Since it has started it has been happening more and more with more lights going off. While driving it has turned off the blind spot indicator and other electrical options in the car distracting me while driving.
My backup camera was intermittent and then stopped working. Had extended warranty and got backup camera replaced. Worked for 2 weeks than was intermittent again. Brought back into dealership and was told that it was the wiring harness inside the back tailgate that was the issue. In order to fix the whole back tailgate of my 2021 Rogue SV AWD had to be replaced. Camera only works 2% of the time. Nissan won't take care of the problem.
Multiple times when exiting car wash going from neutral to drive, car would not shift into drive. Dealership service department unable to duplicate issue. Brake fully pushed down and vehicle would not shift gear. Caused accident second time it happened. Need assistance with this issue as it is not getting handled due to non-replication by service departments.
The contact owned a 2021 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving into a parking spot, the brake pedal was depressed, and the vehicle abruptly accelerated crashing into a pole. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the rear brake pads and brake fluid were replaced, and an oil change was performed. The failure persisted, and the contact was informed that the coolant and EGR sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was then taken to a second dealer, Hallmark Nissan (1300 3rd Ave N, Birmingham, AL 35203), where the front brake pads and air filters were replaced and tire rotations were performed, but the failure recurred. The contact was informed that the engine oil and coolant needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle was later involved in a crash unrelated to the failure, and while the suspensions were being replaced by the body shop, a 2023 Nissan Rogue loaner was provided, and the vehicle experienced the same failure with the "Malfunction Error" message displayed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.
Went from a parking lot to the street and suddenly SUV wouldn’t accelerate. Pulled over, turned car off. Turned back on and put into drive gear and it moved forward. Car is 6 weeks old (bought 11/8/2022). Two weeks after obtaining the front crash warning light kept flashing. Then it told me it was a warning and not to drive. Comes on weekly. Then it doesn’t.
The contact leased a 2021 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving 55 MPH, an unknown warning light illuminated and a message indicating an unknown malfunction was displayed. The vehicle then experienced phantom braking and came to a complete stop, almost causing the vehicle behind him to crash into the vehicle. The contact veered to the side of the road. The contact turned off the vehicle. The contact stated that upon restarting the vehicle 10 minutes later, the vehicle responded as needed and he was able to drive to his residence. The vehicle was picked up by the leasing company. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. There was no further information provided. The failure mileage was approximately 30,992.
The contact owns a 2021 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving approximately 70 MPH, the rear windshield inadvertently shattered without warning. The vehicle was taken to Safelite Auto Glass where the window was being replaced. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was advised to call the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 13,000.

The contact stated that after completing an IVI software update through an over-the-air (OTA) update, the rear-view camera became inoperable on several occasions. The contact also stated that after starting the vehicle or while driving at various speeds, the instrument panel failed to display and then rebooted inadvertently. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the instrument panel needed to be replaced; however, the parts were on back order. The contact was made aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V772000 (Back Over Prevention); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and the contact was advised to file a complaint with the NHTSA Hotline. The approximate failure mileage was 98,000.
Automatic braking front and rear work sporadically and in most condition not predicable. Dealer tells me it’s working as designed. System very dangerous
When trying to start the car I had to push the Brakes almost to the floor to get it to start. THEY WERE EXTREMELY SOFT TO GET IT TO START THE ENGINE AND THEN THEY WERE GOING TO THE FLOOR BEFORE COMING TO A STOP. THEY ARE ALMOST TO THE FLOOR WHEN SLOWING DOWN OR STOPPING. Then while I was driving to pick up my prescriptions and approaching a Stop Sign, then 3 Stop Lights or approaching a vehicle that is already stopped in front of me my brakes are extremely soft and do not engage. They almost go to the floor. The car does not immediately slow down or come to a stop. I have to keep pumping the brakes and even then they were Extremely soft and went almost to the floor before Stopping. I have small feet Size 6-7 and One time my foot slid under the pedal. I had to use the Parking brake at the Stop Sign and the Stop Lights to feel comfortable enough that I would not move forward and be sure I that I came a full Stop. I pulled into a McDonalds Parking Lot less than a mile from my home to see if I turn off the car it will reset the brakes and it did not work. I called Elevated Nissan in Merriam, Kansas which is the Dealership I purchased it from (less than another Mile away from the McDonalds) they were closing in 25 minutes, so I drove less than 5 mph to get there and dropped off the vehicle. I showed [XXX] in service how they would go to the floor. He called me the next morning and after the vehicle sitting in the shop all night long the brakes engaged in a normal fashion the next day. They are trying to find out what is causing them to go soft. These Brakes can cause a Serious Catastrophe resulting in injury or worse. The contact owns a 2021 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated upon starting the vehicle, the malfunction warning light was illuminated and the message "AWD error. See owner manual" and "ABS Error" were displayed. The contact stated as she turned off and restarted the vehicle, the warning lights disappeared; however, the failure reoccurred intermittently. The contact stated that the vehicle shut off while it was parked and the oil pressure warning light illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated that while driving approximately 65 MPH and depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle emitted abnormally loud sounds. The dealer was notified of the failure and an appointment was scheduled for a diagnostic test. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 14,000.
UNKNOWN, I had just got off or my 8 hour work shift at 3:30 pm eastern time. I went to my truck/rear hatch to put my stuff in and I notice glass on the ground. I look up and notice 2 holes the size of a soft ball on the bottom right and left corner of my back windshield. The glass was whole back glass was completely shattered. Every time I shut a door on either side of the door more glass shattered from the back windshield. I was park in an area where no cars were within 10 feet of my car the weather was about 80 degrees, we've had much hotter days in VA. There is absolutely no explanation for this besides a malfunction in the windshield being used on the vehicles. Upon my own research I have discovered this same incident has happened to many other Nissan owners with the damage to the wind shield looking identical, it the same exact spots.
Navigation system is unreliable and unsafe Nissan verified this and a failure and ordered a new unit 2 years ago and has not arrived and they refuse to fix it it the navigation drops out when driving in the middle of navigation causing a safety hazard and goes blank and I have to do a reset the dealer also has done resets and hasnt fixed it nissan has acknowledged the problem as there are many problems and dont care if its fixed many times ive had to go to my phone as this has display and system has almost got us killed many times....
Driving down the road at 55 mph moon roof exploded! Very loud explosion ! Disoriented me! Glass fragments everywhere!
Car and driver reported early builds pre January 28th 2021 from the Japan plant recorded a 2 star safety rating on the passenger small overlap test. Nissan updated retrofitted the passenger airbag module software and seatbelt and was supposed to start a campaign to notify owners to have this done and we were never notified and Nissan is no help when you call and provide VIN. They only tell me no recalls on this VIN. Please note the assembly line builds were provided the retrofit after Jan28th 2021 in Japan builds and Smyrna Tenn builds were already updated before the first build came off the line. My wife's truck and this VIN qualifies with a build date of November 2020 from Japan's factory. Very concerned of the safety of any passenger in our truck and Nissan is dragging their feet and not taking this seriously I feel due to expense. Not sure how many are affected but they need a severe push to remedy this issue. Please help us and God bless you for having this forum. We purchased this Feb 2021 and its been long enough for Nissan to do the right thing for public safety for our family. Thank you. While driving down a road at 40mph that has a speed limit of 45 there are a set railroad tracks that you go over. Of course I slow to 20mph but the forward collision warning activated but it was not a warning but an out right complete stop of the vehicle which would have cause rear end collision if someone was behind me. And it was reported to Nissan about the situation and requested to disable this safety feature but was denied.
air condition faliure
The vehicle was being driven to work approximately 30 miles. It was noticeable that the fuel gauge was dropping rather quickly. When entering the parking lot and parking the odor of gas was strong. After walking around the vehicle a puddle of liquid was under the passenger side door area. After looking under the vehicle the underside was saturated with fuel. The fuel tank was now empty. The vehicle was 75 miles from a Nissan dealer so we towed it to a class A mechanic shop for repair. At the time we were thinking something just pulled apart like a connection. The mechanic put the vehicle on a lift and took off all the covers to explore and found the fuel line blew apart. I contacted a Nissan dealership which told me I would have to tow it to them which would be my cost. It is still at the mechanic shop and whenever Nissan finds a new fuel line it will be repaired. This vehicle is a 2021 and has 44000 miles this should not happen. Now it will be 3 weeks minimum to get this fuel line because the Nissan parts service cannot find the fuel line. I think Nissan needs to look into this issue because we had 4 people riding in the car the day before and if it would of blew out at that time and caused a explosion 4 lives could of been gone. Lucky the vehicle didn’t ignite in this situation but I’m sure it could very easily being close to the exhaust system.
2021 nissan roge sv. 23621 miles Sunroof explode while driving on highway it was glass everywhere. Became a unsafe vehicle for my kids. Dealer ship mike edman nissan horrible customer service will do anithing to no cover the guarantee and face the problem.7 calls to nissan Customer affairs never contact me.
Within 2 months of purchasing our Rogue, I experienced uncontrolled acceleration as I was increasing speed to get onto a very fast flowing highway. I was able to put my foot under the pedal and physically force it back to "normal" operation position and the uncontrolled acceleration stopped. I had the car towed to the dealership the next morning where they did a "full system recalibration". So far, this particular issue has not occurred again yet, I do have concerns still as it seems that the car does not always respond correctly/immediate to acceleration now. Additionally, I have experienced the entire center console turning itself off/shutting down and nothing can bring it back up until it wants to. No stopping and turning off the engine, not turning it off and back on, etc. Also have now experienced the car turning itself off when coming to a stop sign, or coming to a stop on the highway due to traffic - please note these are NOT high-speed stopping events, but occurred with regular braking in slow stop and go traffic or neighborhood driving speeds (30mph or less) - this has happened 4 times now. When taken to the dealership recently I was told there "was an update for the computer" but that it would take them 5 hours (five) to download the file and then one hour to transmit/upload it to my vehicle and that it had to be done there. I informed them I would need to return at a later date to do so. Turns out according to a different dealer across town - you can do that at home on your own WiFi... but they wouldn't tell me how. No communication yet from Nissan regarding any of this.
I recently filled up my windshield wiper fluid tank to the max. As I was driving, my visibility was impaired by dirt/dust. I activated my wipers to clean the front windshield and nothing came out. I had to pull over on the highway because I had difficulty seeing. When I opened the front hood to check my fluid level, it was empty. I used a bottle of water to clean the front windshield. I purchased another bottle and when I was filling up the wiper fluid tank, it started to come out of the bottom of the vehicle. I took it to the dealership and was told that it was cracked and needed to be replaced. They said I must have hit something on the road. The problem with that is there is no other visible damage underneath the vehicle. A mechanic told me that he has been seeing numerous Rogues coming in with the same problem: cracked windshield wiper fluid reservoirs.
The contact owns a 2021 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that the fueling system was leaking. There was an abnormal odor of fuel detected. While driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lunged forward and stalled but restarted. The alternator warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 5,500.
The automatic emergency braking has activated randomly while in reverse and in drive on many occasions. These instances have almost gotten my hit while on the interstate as well as other busy highways in Fort Lauderdale. The car has been inspected on multiple occasions by Nissan and they have been unable to fix it and merely suggest turning off this feature. The front braking sensors have malfunctioned and I have the warning notifications. The radio unit continues to go blank without any warning and Nissan is unable to determine why this happens. They have added an update from the Nissan Sentra Recall for the same issue, but it has not been rectified. I have several videos and photos of the incidents, however the file types are not supported on this website.
First I had the leak which there was a TSB on due to the clips on the roof rack not being sealed properly. Had the clips replaced and resealed only to have 2 days later the leak back. For me it was the drivers side C pillar and drivers side hatch area. Took back & was told also have a faulty sunroof & sunroof seal. So now sunroof, seal & headliner also being replaced. There are tons online reporting the leaking issue. This needs to be fixed & changed to a recall!!! We should not be worried about having leaking on a brand new car and soaked headliners & pillars
The A pillar was leaking and has since been addressed by my local dealer adhering to the service Bulletin, however there are hundreds of other owners of the 21 and 22 Nissan Rogue experiencing the same thing with many having reoccurrences after 6 months. My concern is mildew/mold forming. It took months for proof of leaking to show (colors from Carwash bled through).
The contact owns a 2021 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while deriving approximately 20 mph when there was another vehicle coming towards the contacts vehicle head on. In order to avoid the other vehicle, the contact had swerved to the right and ended up colliding into a guard rail causing the vehicle to flip over several times. None of the vehicle's air bags deployed. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed. The guard rail had completely detached from the street. The contact received injuries to their mouth and back that required medical attention. The vehicle had not been repaired as of yet. The contact stated the individual driving the other vehicle never stopped therefore they were unsure of them having any injuries. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 8,000.
I have the roof leak, infotainment issues, a rattle in my dash
While I was driving my back window exploded. Nothing hit me, and there was no cars behind me. The entire window just shattered.
The contact owns a 2021 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked at the residence, the rear windshield exploded without impact. Safelite Auto Glass was contacted and arrived at the residence and replaced the rear windshield. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 1,000
2021 NISSAN ROGUE. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO STRANGE NOISE COMING FROM VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER STATED THE PARTS NECESSARY FOR THE REPAIR WERE ON BACK ORDER. THE CONSUMER STATED THE DEALER EXCCEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME REPAIRING THE VEHICLE.
The contact owns a 2021 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving approximately 65 MPH, an unknown object struck underneath the vehicle. The contact then noticed that oil was leaking underneath the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer where it was diagnosed that the valve body was damaged. The contact was also informed that the oil pan and cover had been slashed by the object. The vehicle was not repaired due to parts being back ordered. The manufacturer was contacted via email but no further assistance was provided. The approximate failure mileage was 2,289.
The keys locked in the car, the car should not lock if the keys are inside
Back window exploded outward for no reason.
This vehicle was purchased new without disclosure of any recalls. When I checked the vin a few months ago it showed as haveing 5 recalls, some of them major. When I checked recently it showed as having O unfixed recalls. The dealer never fixed the recalls and is running me around to even schedule. I didn’t think they could sell new cars with open recalls?
