THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CROWN NISSAN (3900 W WENDOVER AVE, GREENSBORO, NC), BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE REPLICATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 69,023. THE CONSUMER STATED THE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE FAILED WHILE DRIVING. *JS

AIRBAG LIGHT CONTINUES TO COME IN AFTER BEING RESET BY NISSAN CAR DEALERSHIP SERVICE.
AIRBAG LIGHT BEGAN FLASHING INTERMITTENTLY (NOT DURING MOTION). TAKEN TO DEALER TO RESET, CAME BACK ON ALMOST IMMEDIATELY. WAS TOLD AIRBAG AND MODULE WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. NO CAUSE AS FAR AS I CAN TELL (NOT INVOLVED IN ACCIDENT, AIRBAG DIDN'T DEPLOY, ETC).
NISSAN SENTRA ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) & POSITIVE BATTERY TERMINAL CABLE (PBTC) - VIN MISSING FROM INCLUSION IN MULTIPLE CAMPAIGN NUMBERS REPLACEMENT OF MY ECM COMPLETED IN DECEMBER OF 2016 BY WOODFIELD NISSAN IN HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL (INVOICE ATTACHED). NOW MY POSITIVE BATTERY TERMINAL CABLE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED (INVOICE NOT YET ISSUED AS CAR IS STILL IN THE POSSESSION OF THE SERVICE STATION OF M'LADY NISSAN IN CRYSTAL LAKE, IL). IN LINE WITH CAMPAIGN NUMBERS 10V555000 & 11V579000. MY VIN NUMBER IS NOT ASSOCIATED WITH EITHER OF THESE CAMPAIGNS. I FEAR FOR MY SAFETY AND THE SAFETY OF OTHERS IN REGARDS TO OVERSIGHT OF MY VEHICLE'S EXCLUSION AND POSSIBLY OTHER CONSUMERS AS WELL AS THE RECALL NOTES THERE POSSIBILITY FOR THE ENGINE TO STOP RUNNING WHILE DRIVING INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH. MY VEHICLE HAD A NO START IN BOTH INSTANCES PROMPTING THE NEED FOR REPAIRS. ALSO, VEHICLE HAS EXPERIENCED POWER DRAINS/FLUCTUATION WHILE IDLING AND DRIVING (CAN BE CONFIRMED BY M'LADY NISSAN IN CRYSTAL LAKE, IL). DEALER SERVICE CENTER INDICATED NO ISSUE WITH THE STARTER OR ALTERNATOR AND COMPLETED A FULL START-UP CHECK. MILEAGE AT TIME OF ECM REPLACEMENT: 77,647 MILEAGE AT TIME OF PBTC REPLACEMENT: 79,801
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 NISSAN SENTRA. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE LONG BLOCK AND ECM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF ISSUE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE WERE NOT COVERED UNDER THE EXTENDED WARRANTY PROGRAM FOR THE CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,000.
MY PISTON ROD PENETRATED THROUGH THE ENGINE BLOCK. MECHANIC AT EMPIRE LAKEWOOD NISSAN STATED MY DRAIN PLUG WAS TIGHT, AND THE OIL LEVEL IS IN THE SAFE ZONE ON DIPSTICK. MY CAR HAS AN NISSAN EXTENDED GOLD PREFERRED WARRANT UNTIL 3/22/2017, AND HAS DECLINED THE REPAIR OF MY CAR SINCE I DID NOT HAVE ALL OIL CHANGES DONE AT A DEALERSHIP. STATING THEY CAN NOT VERIFY THE QUALITY OF WORK ON A NON-NISSAN FACILITY. I HAVE EXACTLY 31,749 MILES ON THIS CAR. ITS A 2010 NISSAN SENTRA PURCHASED BRAND NEW. MY CAR STARTING SMOKING, I STOPPED THE CAR IMMEDIATELY, AND HAD IT TOWED TO THE NEAREST NISSAN DELEARSHIP AFTER HOURS.

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 106,000.
POSITIVE BATTERY TERMINAL CAUSED IRREGULAR VOLTAGE AND BURN THE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE ECM TO BURN/DIE CAUSING CAR TO STOP WHILE ON MOVEMENT.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BATTERY TERMINAL BURNED OUT THE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE AND THE POSITIVE BATTERY TERMINAL NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V555000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.

I JUST PURCHASED MY 2010 NISSAN SENTRA USED FROM REPUTABLE CAR DEALERSHIP 3/4/16. ON 7/10/2016 MY BATTERY DIED AND WAS COMPLETELY DEAD AND COULD NOT BE RECHARGED. ON 10/4/16 I WAS WAITING ON MY DAUGHTER TO GET OFF OF WORK. THE CAR STARTING TRYING TO DIE OUT. I TURNED OFF VEHICLE CHECKED ALL MY LUBRICANTS AND RADIATOR EVERYTHING WAS FINE. SHE GOT IN WAS IN PROCESS OF BACKING UP CAR ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS(DASH LIGHTS, HEAD LIGHTS,AND ALL THE OTHER WARNING LIGHTS) STARTED FLASHING CAR FELT LIKE IT WAS HESITATING AND DIED OUT. COULD NOT GET TO CRANK. USED JUMPER BOX TO CHECK BATTERY WAS NOT COMPLETELY DEAD. WE PUSHED VEHICLE BACK INTO PARKING PLACE AND LET BATTERY CHARGE. CAR WOULD START BUT NOT CATCH. FEW DAYS LATER BATTERY COMPLETELY DEAD. READ ABOUT RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH MY VEHICLE. LOOSE POSITIVE CABLE TERMINAL CAUSING DROP IN VOLTAGE ESSENTIALLY DAMAGING ECM. VEHICLE TOWED TO NISSAN DEALERSHIP. DIAGNOSIS IS ECM IS DEAD AND NEEDS REPLACED, POSITIVE TERMINAL CABLE NEEDS REPLACED. COST OF REPAIR $1250.00 AND NOW I AM HAVING TO PAY TO FIX REPAIRS. PER NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND NISSAN CORPORATE MY VIN NUMBER WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL AND THEREFORE WILL NOT BE COVERED BY THEM. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE COIL SPRING AND SPARK PLUG FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,000.
PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT STAYS IN OFF POSITION EVEN WHEN THERE IS A PASSENGER. AND THE AIRBAG LIGHT FLASHES ON THE DASH.
"TAKATA RECALL"THE VEHICLE WAS WORKING PERFECTLY SINCE 04/14/2016 UNTIL 08/20/2016 I DROVE THE VEHICLE FOR 30 MINUTES THEN I PARK IT AT MY PLACE, AND THE NEXT DAY I TRY TO START IT AND WAS COMPLETELY DEAD. IT JUST HAD THE AIRBAG LIGHT. I REPLACED THE BATTERY FOR A NEW ONE, IT STARTED AGAIN. I WENT FOR A DRIVE FOR 1 HOUR AND WHEN I STOP AT THE CAR WASH PLACE TO VACUUM MY CAR IT DIDN'T START AT ALL, ACTING THE SAME WAY AS THE DAY BEFORE. IT WAS COMPLETELY DEAD.
THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS FLASHING ALL THE TIME AFTER START.
WHILE DRIVE ON INSTERSTATES AT 65-70MPH FOR 45MINS CVT GOES INTO "SAFE MODE" BC IT IS TOO HOT, WHICH RESULTS IN THE CARS SPEED TO NOT EXCEED 60 MPH ON A 70MPH INTERSTATE, AND CAR DECREASES FROM 60MPH IF TRYING TO GO UP HILLS. WHICH IS GOING TO RESULT IN MANY ACCIDENTS..

SUBJECT: DRIVERS ARE MISLED BY THE NEWER ILLUMINATED DASHBOARDS TO THINK THEIR HEADLIGHTS ARE ON SEVERAL TIMES, I DROVE DURING THE NIGHT AND I WAS MISLED BY THE BRIGHTLY LIT DASHBOARD INTO BELIEVING THAT MY HEADLIGHTS ARE ON. IN FACT, THEY WERE OFF. THIS IS A PROBLEM THAT MANY OTHER DRIVERS REPORT WITH ALL THE NEWER CARS THAT MUST HAVE AN ILLUMINATED DASHBOARD DURING THE DAY. A STUDY IS NEEDED TO FIND THE RIGHT FIX FOR THIS PROBLEM AND ISSUE NEW MANDATORY GUIDELINES TO VEHICLE MANUFACTURERS. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AND PREVENT MORE CARS TO BE MANUFACTURED WITH THIS FLAW. ACCIDENTS DO HAPPEN IF CARS ARE HAVE THIER LIGHTS OFF DURING TH NIGHT.

I WAS AT A STOP LIGHT AND WHEN IT TURNED GREEN AND I STEPPED ON THE GAS, THE CAR MADE A NOISE AND JERKED. I WAS NOT ABLE TO DRIVE FROM THERE. I COULDN'T EVEN SHIFT TO ANY OTHER GEAR. THE CAR WAS STUCK IN A NEUTRAL POSITION, SO I WAS ABLE TO PUSH IT OFF TO THE SIDE. AFTER GETTING A TOW TO THE NEAREST SHOP, THEY DETERMINED THE TRANSMISSION WAS BAD. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND OUT NISSAN HAD BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH THIS TYPE OF TRANSMISSION. (CVT) AND THEY EVEN EXTENDED THE TRANS WARRANTY TO 120K. (I HAVE 144K ON THE CAR) I DID CONTACT NISSAN TO SEE IF THEY WOULD MAKE A SMALL EXCEPTION. THEY TOLD ME TO HAVE A NISSAN DEALER CONFIRM THE CVT WAS BAD. I DID SO AND THEY CONFIRMED IT WAS BAD. AFTER I REPORTED BACK TO NISSAN THEY SAID THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO HELP ME IN ANY WAY. THE COST TO GET IT REPLACED IS ABOUT $4200
POWER DOOR LOCKS FAILED AT THE SAME TIME. DRIVERS AND PASSENGER COMPLETE FAIL, REAR WORK INTERMENTELY. SAFETY AND THEFT ISSUE

THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE AIR BAG SYSTEM FAILED AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR A SECOND OPINION AND THE DIAGNOSIS WAS THE SAME. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000.

WHILE DRIVING IT I RECEIVED THE SMELL OF COOLANT AND I STOPPED THE CAR TO CHECK AND I NOTICED THE LIQUID LEAKING THROUGH A PIPE IN THE ENTRANCE OF THE HEAD BLOCK WHERE THE ENGINE THERMOSTAT IS. I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC AND DISCOVERED TINY NEEDLE POINT SIZE HOLES IN ONE OF THE TUBES. THESE HOLES WERE MADE FROM INSIDE OUT OF THE PART. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME ONE OF THE CARS I HAVE HAD DOES SOMETHING LIKE THIS. I HAD TO BUY THE PART THAT COST ME $250.00. I THINK IT WAS DUE TO POOR MANUFACTURING MATERIALS.

CAR PULLED IN FRONT OF ME WHILE TEST DRIVING A 2010 NISSAN SENTRA. APPRX SPEED 25- 30 MPH. AIR BAGS DEPLOYED FOR BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER. HOWEVER, WE WERE GREATLY AND PAINFULLY BRUISED IN ABDOMEN FROM LAP BELT..? NO SHOULDER SORENESS SO DO NOT BELIEVE SHOULDER HARNESS DEPLOYED AT ALL.
WHEN I TURN ON MY CAR AND BEGIN TO DRIVE IT, IT MAKES A REALLY LOUD NOISE. IT IS HARD FOR ME TO TURN EITHER RIGHT OR LEFT. ALSO WHEN I AM ACCELERATING IN THE FREEWAY OR IN THE STREET THE CAR SLOWS DOWN AND NO MATTER HOW MUCH I ACCELERATE IT STAYS IN THE SAME SPEED. I TOOK IT IN TO PEPBOYS AUTO CENTER AND WAS TOLD THAT IT HAS AN INTERNAL NOISE AND THAT IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE ELECTRICAL STEERING. THEY ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE CAR CAN LOCK WHILE IM DRIVING OR TURNING AND IN TURN CAN CAUSE ME TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT , SO THAT I SHOULD TAKE IT TO THE NISSAN DEALER SINCE PEPBOYS DOES NOT FIX ELECTRICAL ISSUES. I HOWEVER DO NOT HAVE MONEY TO TAKE IT INTO THE DEALER. WHILE DRIVING I WAS ALSO NOT ABLE TO ACCELERATE QUICKLY ENOUGH WHEN GETTING INTO THE FREEWAY BECAUSE THE CAR SLOWS DOWN AND DOES NOT ALLOW ME TO GO ANY FASTER.
THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THE BATTERY IS LEAKING. ABOUT A YEAR AGO MY BATTERY WAS LEAKING BADLY AND I HAD TO REPLACE IT. ON FRIDAY MY HUSBAND WAS CHECKING THE OIL AND HE SAW THE BATTERY LEAK AGAIN. IT LOOKED LIKE IT WAS CORRODED. HE CLEANED BUT IT IS STILL LEAKING.

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

THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY A MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE BATTERY WAS NOT KEEPING THE PROPER VOLTAGE AND NEEDED TO BE TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR FURTHER INSPECTION. THE BATTERY HAD TO BE CHARGED MORE THAN TWICE DUE TO THE FAILURE, BUT THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO STALL.
